The Father of Demons

While cleaning the library, MC finds a book -- one that has the same lines narrated by Solomon in the Prologue video. The book, like the video, ends abruptly at "the demon's name was..." as the rest of the book is gone, pages torn out.

The brothers wonder what the name could be, and Mammon insists it must be Nightbringer, to which Asmodeus agrees. Then, we find out that Satan learned some interesting information from a Celestial Realm book.

So the Celestial Realm also knows of Nightbringer -- but as "the father of demons", thought to be the very first demon born in the world. They go on to say Nightbringer has been known by other names as well, but otherwise, there isn't a whole lot more information on him. Okay, Simeon, please go home real quick and see if you can get this book in undamaged form for us.

That certainly brings a whole new weight to Nightbringer's identity, if he is indeed supposed to be the first demon ever to exist. So far, the game has been heavily hinting that Nightbringer is a version of Barbatos, and this new information would seemingly match up with one of the chats in OG where Barbatos mentions he was never a child, as well as the stories Asmodeus mentions of Barbatos being strong enough to be Demon King himself.

However, the identity of the child, as well as what Nightbringer's actual goals are with MC, is still to be revealed, and this doesn't help to actually clarify any of those questions yet.

The Secret of the Little D.'s

Another major thing we learned is about the Little D.'s -- and that is that they are technically fairies or spirits that came from a tree that the Fairy King used to tend, back when the Fairy King ruled the Devildom. The game goes on to explain that this makes them technically actually fairies or spirits, though the Little D.'s call themselves demons, so their true nature is a mystery -- especially since they are also sometimes born when a new demon is born into the world, but not always!

Interestingly, Barbatos also phrases it as those demons being chosen, so though it's extremely rare, it is seemingly not random, though we don't know exactly why or how.

New demons being born into the world also includes when fallen angels turn, it seems, since the extremely rare occurrence of these spirits being born alongside demons happened with all seven of the brothers after their fall.

So it's not that the main Little D.'s are just lesser demons of each particular sin, but that they are direct spirit counterparts to the demon brothers -- one for each of them, one for each sin.

Which brings us to ...

The Seven Sins

We've always known the seven brothers as the Avatars of the Seven Deadly Sins, but an interesting bit of information we learned in this lesson is that the brothers didn't know why they were given these particular titles, or if Pride, Greed, Envy, etc. were even known as the Seven Deadly Sins at the time the titles were given to them.

Beelzebub refers to them as "keywords", and we again establish it was the Demon King who gave these titles to the brothers. Diavolo says that if his father decided to give these titles to them, they must be important.

We know that the brothers were already exhibiting signs of their assigned "sin" even when they were angels, but as shown by Mammon's behavior in the past two lessons, the full force of each sin hasn't taken over all of them just yet. In fact, Mammon's greed has come out in a dangerous, powerful way as he becomes more of a demon.

It remains to be seen what, if any, relevance this has with MC losing their connection to the OG boys, but we know how they've changed by OG Season 1, where they fully embrace their sins.

We'll just have to wait and see!

Law x Sick!Reader (F!Reader)

warnings: idiots who don't know how to show their feelings, maybe there is a wrong use of DF, certainly medical errors because I'm not very good at writing this topic.

The sun shone brightly outside the Polar Tang, matching the summer island you had stumbled upon. Beaches, parks, and even a small forest trail awaited you, and despite Bepo's grumbles, it promised to be a good time to relax.

"Are you two staying here?" you adjusted your backpack on your back and stopped beside your captain. "There's so much to do."

"I only leave here to buy ice, or ice cream." Bepo, sprawled on the deck, grumbled. Your eyes soon turned to the captain's.

"And you?"

"Maybe I'll go to the city later, need to buy some things." he said, assessing you from head to toe. "Aren't you going to the beach with them?"

"Not really. From what I saw, there's a pretty cool trail to hike, I can take the opportunity to get some new herbs."

"Hm, alright." he replied, returning to contemplating Bepo suffering in the heat.

"Any problem, Captain?"

"No, nothing serious." Lie. The invitation for you to accompany him on the small visit to the city lingered on his lips, but apparently, it would stay there. "Enjoy your trail."

"Thanks, Captain! I'll be back before the end of the day."

You disembarked from the ship without further difficulties, following the small map you had bought earlier. On the Polar Tang, Law watched from afar as you walked away. He held a certain fondness for you - one you would never suspect - making it difficult for him to approach. Despite the shared breakfasts and the plant and herb lessons you gave him, which he insisted on attending despite knowing most of the content already, he enjoyed being with you. It was a pity he didn't know there was a reciprocal feeling on your part.

On the other hand, you even expected an invitation to accompany him, but just as he didn't seem very interested in being on your trail, he also didn't seem interested in your company. The hours passed without end, and with each passing moment, you grew more and more exhausted. Even before the sun set, you were already making your way back up to the Polar Tang.

"What the hell happened to you?" Shachi was the first to ask, catching your attention as you headed towards the submarine's interior.

"What the hell what?" you looked over, seeing nothing abnormal except for the fatigue and heat in your body, likely from all the walking.

"We better call the captain." Jean Bart advised and didn't wait for a response, running further into the submarine.

You tried to see something in some reflection as you watched your colleagues avoid you as if you carried the plague within you. Your irritation with your friends was replaced by concern as soon as Law saw you. You expected a scolding, you expected some acidic comment from him, but you didn't expect the lack of words, except for the ones that made you teleport with him straight to the medical ward.

"Captain, what's happening?" you stumbled backward as he guided you not so gently to a stretcher.

"Open your mouth." he completely ignored your question, and you could tell he was more worried than usual, so you just obeyed. With a small flashlight, he checked what you believed was just your throat. "Can you breathe normally, have you felt anything?"

"I'm just a bit tired, that's all. I don't understand all this fuss." you grumbled.

Only then did Law realize that indeed, you knew nothing of what was happening or why everyone had practically become concerned. Looking for a mirror and finding it impossible to find one in the medical ward of the Polar Tang, he grabbed a small sterilized steel tray and passed it to you, indicating that you should look at yourself.

"What?" your cry echoed through the enclosed room. Your face, neck, and every piece of skin you could see were adorned with red and swollen lumps. "Law, what's happening to me?"

"At first, I thought it might be an allergic reaction. But with unobstructed airways, I rule out that possibility, given the size of these lumps, if it were an allergy you shouldn't be breathing." he touched your face, gently turning it from side to side.

"And you're speaking so calmly?"

"If I spoke more agitatedly, you'd get nervous, your body would pump your blood faster, and if it were poison it would only take a few minutes for you to drop dead here." again, that calmness in dealing with serious matters infuriated you. "It might be that," he muttered to himself.

"Poison? Am I poisoned?" you stood up and immediately stumbled, leaning against his arms. "Am I going to die?"

"Probably, maybe, and no." he helped you sit back down. "Just give me a minute, I suspect what it might be."

He disappeared from your sight, and immediately, it was as if exhaustion dominated your body. You allowed yourself to lie down and wait for a few minutes. When your eyes were already heavy - even though less than five minutes had passed - you saw him appear with a book in hand.

"Can you stand up and take off your clothes?" he asked, seeing you nod, even though it took minutes just for you to stand up.

Remaining only in underwear, Law took care not to touch your body disrespectfully. The lumps already occupied almost your entire skin, giving him some trouble finding what he needed. After turning you around a few times and bending down to see better, he unfortunately found what he suspected.

"Here!" he pointed to the side of your body and again picked up the small steel plate that served as a mirror. As soon as he showed you, you could locate two red dots. Law then stood up and took the book he had brought. "It's a type of bug common on this kind of island."

"And what does that mean?" you leaned on the cot, not bothering to put your clothes back on.

"Well, it's going to be a few difficult days, and I'll need to isolate you from the rest of the crew, but you'll be fine."

"What do you mean by difficult days?" you tried to grab his book, but he didn't allow it. The way the symptoms were written was much scarier than it should have been in reality, at least that's what he hoped.

"Some symptoms are quite annoying, but with the right treatment, in about six to seven days, you'll be cured." he explained, watching you nod slowly. "It's normal to feel a bit tired at first; you might feel a bit itchy tomorrow too."

"You said you're isolating me here, is there a risk I've contaminated someone?" contaminated you, you wanted to add, but preferred to keep the thought to yourself. "I haven't touched anyone, but you never know."

"But I need you to eat, please." His eyes seemed to plead on their own, making it almost impossible for you to refuse.

Law stayed longer than the day before, watching you eat and updating you on what had happened outside. From Shachi and Penguin almost getting beaten up by two women on the beach, to Bepo swimming with buoys and several other amenities. Although he stayed longer than the day before, it didn't take long for Law to leave you alone again.

The next morning, you understood what Law meant about regretting scratching. The vivid memory of your nails scratching your body was replaced by an unbearable burning sensation, which left you almost immobile. Except that it also itched, making you seek friction, however minimal. That morning, you were taken out of bed by Law's appearance. A tray was in his hand, and as soon as he placed it on the table, he transported two more bags in.

"How are you feeling today?" he stopped by your side, looking at your still-laying face. "Burning, isn't it?"

"Eat too." he just waved his hand, and you insisted. "Please, Captain. It'll make me feel less strange."

"Okay, just a little." He grabbed one of the grapes and ate.

As soon as you finished, Law used the power of the Ope Ope no Mi to get you to a shower, and apparently, he had already left that isolation for you. He leaned against the outside and left you alone, washing your body. Even against his will, Law could hear your grumbles and sniffs, he knew that the contact of the water against the skin would be torture at that moment, but it was the best solution he could think of. How he wished he could take that pain away from you.

In the afternoon of that same day, you didn't expect to see him again, until once again he appeared in the room, armed with things that barely crossed your mind of what they could be.

"I-I…" he started, feeling a little insecure. He felt that perhaps, just maybe, he might be crossing the line between doctor and patient. "I believe you might be feeling lonely."

"You have no idea." you weakly laughed, accepting the package he offered. Some books, crosswords, and candies were piled in the package. "That's very kind of you captain, thank you."

"I brought more of these too." He piled some books next to you, with a glance you realized they were comics. "They help me pass the time, I think they might help you too."

"This is that story... Sora, right?" you flipped through some, excitedly. "I've always heard about it and even tried to read it, but I confess I didn't understand much."

"What didn't you understand?" he sounded almost offended, sneaking a peek at what you were talking about.

The idea was for him to just leave things there and leave you alone, but it seemed almost impossible that afternoon. Law got lost in the hours, what was supposed to be a simple explanation ended with him reading some issues aloud to you. He only realized this when he heard your stomach growl, knowing it was already dinner time.

In the following two days, you alternated between scratching, trying to avoid scratching, getting scolded by Law, and him losing hours again, talking to you. It had reached the point where Law and you were counting the hours to know when you would see each other's faces. "I don't know if I can handle a whole day with so much pain." you sobbed and hugged yourself. "It hurts to breathe, it hurts to move, and-I-I don't know what to do."

He sighed, trying to think of how he could take that away from you. It was just one more day of symptoms, but it hurt him to hear from your mouth that you couldn't handle it. Just one more day, one more day, and you would be well again.

"Do you remember when the pain started?" he stepped away to start preparing a serum with medications for you.

"About two hours ago." you whispered, pulling the blankets against you and trying to press against your own body, the contact of your skin seemed like a relief.

"Okay, we have a few more hours ahead." he gently pulled your arm, and with the dexterity that only he could have, hit your vein on the first try, plugging the medication. "Maybe this will help a little with the symptoms."

Law stepped back again to get the book he had found the information about the insect that had bitten you. Most of it was that the symptoms were difficult, but they overcame themselves, and although it seemed like you were going to die, the probability was minimal. Pain and complications, pain and complications. Law finally found the topic he needed. "Why do you think? Contact equals contamination, don't you remember?" you grumbled. Even though the massage he provided was the relief you needed, the last thing you wanted was to infect him.

"You're no longer so contagious. You're on the last day of the illness, full of symptom medications, and I'm protected, there's no possibility of you infecting me." he explained and felt your hand against his chest, trying to push him away. "Don't you believe me?"

"I'm a mess here, of course I'll infect you."

Instead of answering you, Law just stole a quick kiss from your lips, in an impulse of courage to show a little of what he felt and in the desperation to stop you from continuing to push him and, consequently, pushing himself out of the bed.

"I wouldn't do this if you were contagious, you know that." he simply said and pulled you closer, allowing your face and body to almost merge against his skin. "Now let me take care of you."

The last day of the illness passed faster than you expected, mainly because much of it you spent sleeping in the arms of your captain, who didn't stop for a second trying to ward off the pain from you.

The next day, you were finally free to walk around the submarine, take a shower freely, choose your own clothes, free from the small medical ward you spent those days in. As soon as you finished putting on your uniform, two knocks on the door caught your attention.

"Can we talk?" Law inquired, not waiting for the answer to enter the room. "About yesterday…"

"There's nothing I would change about that." you interrupted him, and you swore you could see a certain blush on his face. "Except the pain, I thought I was going to die."

"I would never let that happen."

"Captain?" you approached, stopping a short distance from him.

"Law, please." he corrected you. He liked to hear his title leave your lips, but hearing his name was a much more savory experience.

"Law, aside from all the pain and stress, it was good to spend these days alone with you." you confessed, seeing him nod. "Although I'm also ridiculous with those lumps that have now turned into scars, I really should have listened to you."

"Don't say that, even if you wanted to, you wouldn't be that." he refused to name you in such a rude way. "And I also enjoyed our time together."

"What does that mean?"

When i think of Solomon i think of that story where two mothers were arguing about a living child. He offered giving each of them one half of the baby.

Why does Mammon keep spending money? True Greed lives within those parents that choose witnessing their child in pain over paying expensive medicine. Those people that bought one pair of leather boots ten years ago and refuse to buy something new because everything is "too expensive" nowadays. Mammon should be selfish and bitter, criticizing everyone's spending habits, not encouraging them.

But Mammon's greed represents having everything and more, you may say.

Well then, if he wants to have everything and more, why does he gamble? Does he expect to win every single time? I'm not convinced.

And Beel shouldn't be hungry all the time. On the contrary, he should be full. He should be eating without really having the need to do so. Food is not a coping mechanism for Gluttony, it takes the whole meaning of sin away. Beel should eat because he can do it and because he wants to do it. He should be eating until he feels sick and then keep eating because, why not? The food is delicious and it's right there.

And on top of that they're demons. Mystical beings dedicated entirely to temptation and punishment.

In obey me they're all bark and no bite (except lesson 16 and maybe Lucifer sometimes).

Give me some violence. Give me the gore that comes with living in hell. Give me a mentally unstable MC that truly shouldn't survive the exchange program. Demons all around are obsessed falling in love with them. Give me a true reason and not plot armor.

Envy and Pride are so close. Levi should be as ruthless as Lucifer. Greed and Lust? Prostitution and sex trafficking would put Mammon and Asmo on top of the food chain.

Tell me why Diavolo is more powerful than Barbatos.

-So expect some whines from your first man who keeps acting all annoyed and angry by your sleepy behavior. He wanted to play some games, actually, and you again fell asleep right when he brought a new deck of cards!

-..but he actually likes it. Because when you fall asleep like that, he has a chance to admire the beauty of your face more carefully, being much closer than he would allow himself when you're awake.

-"You have no idea how it hurts, s/o.." - he mumbled, not hiding his bright red cheeks as you didn't see it anyway. Instead, Mammon's hands are on your hair, as he fixes small locks that fall on your forehead. - "..to not be able to show you my whole feelings.. But it's my fault, isn't it? I'm just a fool who needs to be more bold.."

-It's one of his favorite things now. Talk with you about some sweet nothings that he's usually too shy to say out loud. ..yet most of the time it's all ended up with Mammon showering you with compliments. He can be quite poetic, actually, telling you some deep words that probably would make your stomach tickle if you would actually hear it.

-...Asmo catches him at least one time when Mammon has his casual chit chat with his adorable sleepyhead.

-As an avatar of Greed, he always preferred to hang out in his room where no one can poke their nosey little noses in his business with you and interrupt his fun by dragging you away. Also, Mammon is just hoping that you will fall asleep on his couch instead of the one that is standing in the living room. And then your generous boyfriend will have no choice but to keep you in his room for the whole night, carefully carrying you in his bed to cuddle.. and maybe to place a few kisses on your forehead?

-"S/o, look, I found out about this new curse.. Oh. Someone decided to take a little break?"

-It's amuse him so much, to see how you always don't miss a chance to have some rest, letting your guard down whenever he's with you. Well, you fall asleep so easily because you feel safe around him, no?

-Absolutely like to study with you. Or maybe study you? Solomon is sitting here, reading one of his magic books.. Or at least is what you think he's doing, when actually his eyes are fastened on your adorable face, watching and memorizing every small change in your expression as you slowly start to drift to sleep again, right while sitting at the table. It's much more interesting than any books he's ever read before or will have a chance to read.

-"You're so adorable like that, s/o.." - he chuckled, stroking your head before taking his phone from pocket and turning on the camera. - "You don't mind a little photoshoot? I swear to keep it only to myself.."

-Would love to wake you up with tickles or slight pinch in your cheek just to see your grumpy sleepy face as you mumble something under your breath. Teasing you is so fun, and now Solomon would drag another amusing reaction from you by showing off these precious pictures with you.

-But if you fall asleep during lessons he wouldn't even try to tap your shoulder or something, letting you have some rest and hiding your sleeping figure behind books. In this case you would have to pay a visit to Celestial Realm and borrow his textbooks as you don't remember anything from school today.

-And who knows, maybe another wave of laziness will hit you and you will fall asleep right in Solomon's room, leaning on his shoulder as he explains to you a new section. It's a good way to be alone with you, as you're always busy with Demon brothers.. Ahh, or maybe now he can play with you in a little fairytale? Do you remember how the prince woke up his Sleeping Beauty?

-"S/o, I was hoping you will help me with some paperwo- …Ahh, nevermind."

-Seriously? Again? After he literally caught you sleeping right on the floor in the living room this morning? Unbelievable..

-Well, it just means now you will spend all your evenings with Lucifer, as he's checking on you and not letting you fall asleep again. But then why did you always end up sleeping on his lap while he worked on some documentary? The way his arm patted your head is so soothing and soporific, turning your small nap into a whole full deepsleep, and absolutely not waking you up..

-I didn't tell you this but Lucifer absolutely loves to lend his coat for you whenever you fall asleep. Your face always gets so soft and he swears he can notice your smile getting bigger as you cling to warm fabric with the light smell of his cologne.

-"Huh.. You should be honored I let you slack off like that.." - he signs with furrowed brows, then a playful smirk appears on his lips as he tickles your face a little. - "But I'm expecting you to return a favor for me, angel.."

-Loves to tease you about this goofy habit, comparing you with Belphegor sometimes. Well, but his youngest brother never would be as adorable as you are, at least because you don't mind clinging to Lucifer's chest when he's hugging your sleeping form and playing with your hair.

-If you end up falling asleep somewhere beyond the walls of his bedroom, your lover doesn't mind just carrying you to his place, even if someone from his brothers finds your adorable defenseless form first. Of course he would just tell them that he's going to give you a proper punishment and scold you for being so careless when actually Lucifer can't wait to get this cute sleeping face only for himself to admire. Well, but he can teach you a lesson and wakes you up with a few kisses, right in your lips. If you want to receive more, then you should try to control your sleepy behavior, dear..

So I got curious, since I am in a state of love-hate for Solomon(again, since I recall that's how it first started for me when I first got into OM! lol). And wanted to learn more about him...

So I decided to read this devilgram and...

spoilers for this ahead so putting a read more now.

Well long story short. Mammon comes with a plan to test Solomon. To see if he's really good or bad. The plan involves using a grimoire as bait, to see if Solomon will open it to read the contents in it.

Before they even leave the book alone with him, to perform this test. Mammon already knows Solomon has been curious about it and what's inside. Which is why he even brings it up and gets it involved in the first place.

When Solomon sees it, he's clearly instantly interested in it and wants to read it. But Mammon tells him the lie that Lucifer said no one is allowed to open it.

What's exactly in the book, we will find out soon...So don't worry about being left questioning it for long.

Now they leave that book alone with Solomon, expecting him to open it. Surprise, he doesn't open it...Mammon feels defeated. Simeon feels happy to know he was right about Solomon being good after all. Since he got involved in this too and was curious about Solomon as well...But is Solomon really good here in the end?

See in the end...We learn what was in that book.

Actually I have some ideas on why he wanted that information about Cerberus...and once again that sinking worry feeling is in my gut...

As well Solomon reveals what really happened while alone with it...So he didn't open the book as told...That is true....

But...He's lying here about not reading it in a sense...Which he reveals to us right after.

Now...Learning this information...is huge to me. I don't know if this information was revealed in og OM! already. Since I sadly couldn't finish all the lessons there...So if this is nothing new, then that's fine pfff

But knowing Solomon has this power, and he could possibly use it on Lucifer's grimoire just by touching it alone...Is kinda scary and very worrying...

If she ever wanted me, she could have stay right? She could have fought for me right? I did try my best for her, fought for her tell the last. I was and I guess still, I have hope that one day maybe by some miracle the stars will meet, they will collide into each other. But what if the star I am talking about does not want to meet the other star, don't want to be apart of it, what is the star does not want to exist in the same universe in which the other star resides?

Maybe some people comes to our life just to give us the best memories, to fill our heart with their presence but they themselves no that no miracle can help to keep us together.

I have learnt many things recently. Many great lessons. Before I never was afraid of trusting anyone but now just by thinking of a new person coming into my life, who tries to know me really scares me.

Now I won't be able to love anyone else and maybe that's because the person who came into my life a couple of months ago never left me. Her footprints are still engraved within my heart. So with og om! when you downloaded the app immediately after it's release you got the first 10 lessons of s1, the same way we did with nightbringer, and then I think they uploaded the other 10 on a weekly basis the way they did with the s2-4 lessons (not sure about that last part so correct me if I'm wrong) then they had a 4-5 month break? and released s2. This is probably what's gonna happen in Nightbringer as well.

MC's also probably gonna stay in the past for a while as well? As in s2 and maybe even 3 might be in the past? Because;

• Nightbringer said they've got something to do in the past first before they can go back home

• there's alot more loose threads, open storylines, unexplored dynamics in the past rn

• post s4 everything in the present is pretty chill - Simeon has come to terms with his new existence, MC has a job in the Devildom that gives them a loophole so they may stay more frequently in the Devildom etc

• It's 10 lessons into Nightbringer and MC's nowhere close to making the pacts

New hints (and questions) about Nightbringer

Finally! We have some clues about NB, I'm so excited! We finally have an idea of what to expect. Yet I still have so many doubts. But that's only natural, we're still missing on so much information ;; I simply want to share my thoughts about Nightbringer at the moment.

First, I'd like to mention the objective facts we know about the game:

We're our good old sheep MC.

We've travelled to the past, and we need to "reforge our bonds and pacts with the seven brothers"

Honestly, I'm happy the game is not just a prequel and we get to keep our MC. Still, time traveling is a choice. So, knowing this, what personally intrigues me the most are the questions that have arised from the possibilities when it comes to going to the past and meeting the demons there.

I'll try to point out my main questions and theorize a bit, but this is only with the little info we've been given.

We've travelled by Barbatos' magic, so at least he and Diavolo should know we're going to the past. Right?

Do the brothers know? The lines "Don't worry, you'll be fine. After all, we are..." and then "My love for you trascends time" (in Japanese, "No matter how many times we meet you, we'll fall in love with you") seem to be from the brothers POV. The first line gives me the impression they know what our mission is and are basically wishing us good luck and trusting in us, for us to... "save" them, maybe? There has to be a reason we're doing all of this.

About that, why are we doing this? Are we being sent with us knowing what's going on? Or we just wake up and surprise! You're in the past! (double isekai lmao) I hope it's some kind of "mission" we are well aware of.

How will time traveling be explained this time? (In case it will be explained because let's face it, we know OM is not the most rigorous when it comes to it, lol) The brothers will meet us in the past, so are we going to be presenting as ourselves? Or as some random human? You know, like we pretended to be a random angel in the Celestial Realm? After all is done, will they remember the events from the past? Will they know it was us? You know, as in sheep MC? Are their memories going to be "rewritten" and, once we're back, they'll know what happened and know MC loved them in the present and the past? I just... I just don't know. (But I kinda like the latter, it sounds romantic)

All of their lines in the webpage show some kind of emotion related to their fall, in their own way. But at least something that is common to all of them is pain. About each of them:

Lucifer seems to feel guilty or responsible for their fall; Mammon seems accepting of his (and their) fate, Leviathan seems terrified of his fate; Satan, being a new entity, is annoyed by his existence in this reality and his new brothers; Asmodeus is in denial; Beelzebub's one is intriguing, because it points to a secret more then his feelings regarding the fall, but I'd say there's something about the fall or the war he knows and feels guilty about hiding; and Belphegor is thinking about punishment and consequences of their actions, could it be indifference? or a quiet fear?

What kind of dynamics will we have with these recently turned demons? Are we going to have our beloved, dangerous interactions such as the ones we got on Halloween 2021? Or early lessons? (I really, really hope so)

But more than anything, regarding the reasons of our travelling... What happened that needs us to travel and bond with them in their past selves? Are they in some kind of danger? Did some kind of event trigger a reaction from them, becoming distant with us (ahhh yes, angst) and we need to unravel their past? I like the idea of MC getting to know their backstories and ending up with this idea of "I'll love him even after all he's done as a demon".

And that's why I like this concept of "My love for you trascends time" because it can be both ways. They'll love us no matter in what time or form we meet, but also they trust us to keep loving them even though it's a difficult, dangerous love.

And yes, the Japanese one is slightly different but I also like how that one is only directed from the demons to us. Even if it's in an alternative universe, the past, not knowing us, our bond and connection is so strong it's certain they'll fall in love with us.

Man, I'm getting the feels from this teaser. I can't wait to see what kind of angst, tragic backstories and dramatic romance we'll get to experience.

And by the way! On March 24th, the song from the opening will be released, "Devil's Way". From the unofficial lyrics I've seen, they do mention the little sheep and to not be afraid, so I wonder what kind of information we'll get from the full lyrics 🕺

The camera shows y/n checking out herself in a glass door. "Hi, guys" She waves and twists her body to show her outfit better. "Ootd! 하나까지 완전 우리답지" Suddenly the screen turns black and there's Ive dancing to Kitsch. The clip goes back to y/n and she's laughing. "Sorry. Ootd! Tee and trousers from Yesstyle. Shoes are Rick Owens' Geo Basket and the jacket is thrifted." Now y/n is sitting on a bench and the camera is in front of her. "I'm currently waiting for Jay because we agreed to meet up on campus. I'm scared but also super excited because we've got so much planned for you guys!" A passer-by makes her shy and she stops filming.

The camera pans to Jay walking towards y/n, he's got a smile on his face and you can hear y/n giggling. "Hi!" He opens his arms and the screen goes black because they're hugging. "What's up?" Y/n asks when they part, she uses the selfie stick to angle the camera so that both of them are on screen. "Good, good!" The duo starts walking around campus. "Tell the kids about our plans, Mr Park" Jay pats y/n on the head and he grabs the camera from her. "We're going to hang around in the mall near our uni and also get new guitar strings, whooo" He spins around with the camera and you can hear y/n cackle in the background. The screen goes black again.

Now it's a sped-up montage of Jay and y/n playing different games in an arcade. They're having fun while occasionally stopping the games to talk a bit, but it's muted because there's music over the montage. The screen shows them exit the arcade and go inside a music shop. Y/n films while Jay interacts with the owners. The music gets a bit quiet and you can hear her mutter "Wow, he's good at what he does" The music gets louder again and Jay approaches with a smile on his face and a box of new guitar strings. They walk towards a sushi restaurant and order a meal to take with them.

They enter Jay's car and you can see y/n taking in the interior. She has an impressed look om her face. "Hi, babies! We hung out and now we're going to" She whispers the next part "to Jay's penthouse to film a mukbang segment and learn how to play guitar" the camera pans back to Jay and he's driving while humming that song that's playing on the radio. The rest of the clip is Jay and y/n having a carpool karaoke session.

At Jay's (shared) house, the owner (Jay) takes over the filming while he shows y/n enter. "Hello, everyone! Today I'm showing you all my very expensive luxurious penthouse!" She spins around and does a cartwheel in the spacious corridor. When she stands up she almost bumps against a startled Jungwon. "Oop, sorry" He just shrugs and goes his way. "Cutting that out." The funky music resumes while they go upstairs towards their bedrooms and y/n asks if Riki's home. "Nope, at school" Jay answers behind the camera. She takes the filming device back and Jay opens his bedroom.

"Dear, babies! Before we start our guitar lessons... We have to fill up a bit. Let's have a sushi mukbang." Jay brings a small foldable table and y/n sets up the plates. "We have sashimi, uramaki, spicy tuna rolls, sake nigiri and gunkan! Eat well, everyone!" They clink their chopsticks and get to eating.

Jay is now tuning his guitar. "He's so cool" y/n says behind the camera. She sets the device down and goes to sit next to him. Jay has already set up his equipment and starts filming as well. "Okay, guys! Last lesson we learned how to play Seven by Jungkook. Today y/n requested 애열 Love Shine by LEEHEESANG so we're learning that." He finishes off his sentence with a smile. The rest is some from footage from Jay's video.

Somehow simultaneously the best and the worst student MC’ll ever have. They should get ready to be called to his office at the weirdest times, just for him to show his progress with a proud smirk on his face.

Will master the language in 3 months at the very most, mans is busy after all.

Mammon

Surprisingly, he was the one who brought the topic of learning MC’s native language up.

Why you ask? Well, he may or may not have heard MC go ballistic on a few demons who were trying to take advantage of Beel’s gentle nature. Seeing them yell and threaten demons in a foreign language did things to him-

He gets easily distracted, so MC needs to keep a reward system of some sort in place.

Picks up the language faster than they thought he would.

Now it’s a habit for the two of them to talk in MC’s native language at all times.

Leviathan

MC was the one who piqued Levi’s interest in their native tongue.

They were watching an anime where the protagonist began to speak in MC’s native language. MC laughed at a minor mistake, which was how Levi got to know about it.

Begs them to teach him the language.

Very flustered if he makes any mistakes while learning it, but he will devote a lot of time to become absolutely fluent.

After he becomes fluent enough, expect him to find anime in that language.

Satan

Another one who may already know the language. But if he doesn’t for whatever reason, he’s going to learn it.

Has connections from all over the world, so he finds out books in the language, which become his motivation to learn the language.

Will regularly ask MC to test him, and rarely makes any mistakes.

Gains a new arsenal of curse words to direct at Lucifer, and MC has a hard time not bursting out into laughter.

Asmodeus

Was there along with Mammon when MC chewed out some lower demons for trying to take advantage of Beel’s kindness, and he looked like the 😍 emoji the entire time.

I hc that he has learnt French and Spanish, mainly because of their romantic connotations. Asmo would probably be more vocal about how he felt when MC started talking in their native tongue, and how he wants to learn it because some people find being multilingual sexy.

Will not leave MC alone. Yes he knows there are plenty of others who’d be happy to teach him the language, but he wants a teacher almost as cute as him MC. Indulge him this once, won’t you~

Another one who needs a reward system of some sort in place if MC is to teach him.

Beelzebub

Was the 😶 emoji the first time he heard MC talk in their native tongue.

Will start asking them about their culture, mainly food and stuff.

If MC wants to teach him their native language, he’ll learn.

A great student, MC just needs to make sure that they have snacks on hand while teaching him.

Belphegor

Everyone knows that the twins are a package deal.

So when Beel started having lessons with MC, Belphie was there, clinging to them.

Acts like he isn’t interested when MC offers to teach him their language, but secretly the part of him that loved humans was awakened.

Actually manages to stay awake for the lessons, but then he’ll demand to sleep in MC’s bed at night as payment for making him stay up.

Is thankful that MC decided to share something of this sort with him and his twin.

Okay so I have to hop onto my little soap box here for a second.

as I’m watching some the responses to the news that the og obey me app isn’t getting new lessons come in, I’m starting to see how spoiled, for lack of a better term, some of our fellow fans on twitter are.

User names and icons are blacked out for their privacy. I just wanted to give y’all some examples of twitter’s reaction

It’s alright to be sad, disappointed or angry even. Some fans have spent up to 3 years with the OG app and put a lot of money into it to get their card collection to where it is today so it’s understandable. (I know I myself have probably dropped a couple grand on this game by time I take into account what I pay for the VIP membership and all the money Ive spent in nighmare) But it’s not okay to behave like these three fans have even if you share their sentiments.

If you think about it, every game stops getting support at some point. (I still remember when MysMes stopped getting new content. It broke my heart and I haven’t opened the app since) and it was inevitable that the OG app would stop getting main story content but hey at least we got another game that starts off in a time period that, according to the devs, has been highly requested to be shown for a while now and on going events to kind of ease us down. (I know events are not everyone’s favorite thing. I’ve only been skimming through the stories that interest me for a while now)

I can see where the outrage is coming from though. Fans are feeling like the devs lied to us back in February when they said the OG app wasn’t shutting down we just didn’t know there was a big ol’ asterisk after that statement at the time. We assumed we’d still get main story content. I think this whole thing would have gone much better if the devs had clarified that we’d only ever be getting events from here on out. no main story content feels like the app is being phased out for Nightbringer and with no way to transfer our cards over, fans are losing all the blood sweat and tears they put into building their collection and- ahh I’m rambling again…

I guess what I’m trying to say is like it or not, at some point we will have to say goodbye to the world of OM! altogether but that doesn’t mean we as fans have to get angry and lash out about it. We could have just been cut off from the world of OM! cold turkey but the devs are giving us a nice little step down with nightbringer.

If the devs do this right for once, and we actually make it to the end of NB story-wise, do you think we'll actually get to go back to our real timeline and meet the og brothers again? As much as I love the time travel premise of NB and these past!brothers, I really do miss our dorks from the present and hope MC isn't stuck there permanently. I need emotional closure after getting ripped away from them so suddenly, damn it. At the very least, a hard mode story update on the others would be nice.

Hahaha...if the devs do it right, for once.

That said, we should be returning, yes. If nothing else, the devs did promise in their pre-release AMA that "the story from lesson 80 will eventually continue in Nightbringer" so we're pretty sure that means we will return to the present...eventually being the operative word. Whether that means the current situation will get wrapped up neatly at the end of NB Season 1 haha OM wrapping up a season neatly? and then plop us back to normal time for Season 2 to continue as a figurative "lesson 81", or if it's going to take a full 4 more seasons to get there, who knows! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But eventually they have promised that the story will pick back up, so that should mean that we are not stuck in the past permanently.

Now, there's a few caveats to this -- the biggest of which may be that it's wildly unclear if they're going to follow through on an "alternate universes" approach to the current time travel, where the situation as it left off is untouched, as Nightbringer seemed to imply when he called this time a "world", or if they will do the "time paradox" singular timeline approach as Solomon warned us about. We personally are going to interpret it as the former until proven otherwise, but it's hard to declare it for sure, as both have been mentioned.

That also means two different things for how things could go.

If it's a single timeline, then it seems clear we have already wildly changed the past with our presence, and we may return to find that things in our own time will be a different as a result. We did mention before that Nightbringer seems like a soft reset to the story because they wrote themselves into a bit of a corner with Season 4, and they could use this to retcon some of the more immediate directions they took and change course. Or, they could perhaps use it to introduce new problems which would set them up for things to solve in future seasons? And if things are changed, then we may end up with an unsatisfying version of returning where it still feels a bit off from the continuation we've all been waiting for.

That brings us to the other option -- alternate universes. This can just be an entirely different universe and timeline, which will have no impact on our own time, and we could return to things as they were and pick up from there. Now, the devs did emphasize that NB is meant to be welcoming and playable for new players as well as players of the original, which...probably means at least that they would have to explain a lot of things all over again? Though they haven't explained a lot of shit to new players, like the whole MC having the Ring of Light thing, so it's not like they're especially doing a great job of that! BUT, personally we really prefer this explanation.

First off, having them be entirely separate would really help to explain things like, again, Luke's many-millenia-early visit to the Devildom. And more than that, it seems like it could fit really well into where the story conflict is setting up to go: MC being presented a choice of siding with humans vs demons.

Solomon, in Lesson 9-A, is presented with what is later revealed to be a test by Nightbringer, and there's some key wording in that test about what demons offer.

And what has Nightbringer been saying? That they can bring MC to where they will be happy. "A place that will bring you more joy than any other."

We know that he had wanted Solomon to choose his side, and that Solomon opted to reject both angels and demons to choose humans instead. His big question to Solomon, then, is what MC's feelings are -- although Solomon says that MC agrees, Nightbringer questions if he really knows how MC feels.

That brings up the interesting possibility that, if this world represents a demon (Nightbringer) leading a human (MC) to "happiness", then MC's original timeline could be the option that represents "choosing humanity" instead. If so, this could be a big test from Nightbringer to see how MC feels, just like he tested Solomon, and it could all culminate in a big decision where MC might be torn between choosing this world or the original one -- though, technically speaking, it realistically probably can't actually branch the story drastically, just coding-wise. But even so, it's possible that, like Season 2 with the dagger, they could still give us the option, and hey, that'd be some pretty interesting storytelling if that's the case!

However, that's all just guessing and speculation. More than anything, we simply do not know Nightbringer's intentions as of yet.

It seems as though he may genuinely mean it when he says this is "what will bring us happiness," but he also mentioned that having us make the pacts here in past is what he wants as well. What does that mean for what his own goals are? Why does he want that? And considering that the whole reason we even want to make the pacts in this timeline is so that we'll have the ability to return to our time, it's pretty suspicious to use that to say we "want the same thing" as him. So we do not trust Nightbringer right now, but we don't have enough information as of yet and we'll just have to see what direction this is going to go.

As for a hard mode story update on our boys of the original time, though...unfortunately, we wouldn't hold our breath. There's a lot of really big stuff going on thematically in this past time we're currently in, and they likely won't want to distract from that with a jump to the present unless they're trying to make a point. If it does go towards a "MC has to choose between worlds" thing, there might be a slim possibility of it, just to give us a peek at the other option. However, again, the devs have stated that they wanted to make NB accessible to new players as well as fans of the original game, so we think it's pretty unlikely for us to get a story glimpse of them just for us to get to see how the characters as we knew and loved them actually are.

Also, the whole "MC misses their home and needs to make these pacts because they can't see their versions of the characters until they get back" probably hits a little harder if we really actually can't know how they're doing without us but that rests on the basis of narrative design, which Solmare clearly doesn't believe in, with the whole Ruri Tunes theming and all the backgrounds so far. And then there's the whole possibility that the entire concept of time travel means we may get returned just minutes after our disappearance or something, and that time isn't actually passing for them.......time travel is too frickin' complicated, y'all.

Anyway, all this to say, as much as we are totally loving all the new lore and theming and stuff we're getting in Nightbringer, we miss our OG boys too. Hopefully we'll get back to our original time someday.

Can you reference where the canon material is from? This would help a lot, and you wouldn’t have to always reply to those who ask where this info is located.

//Answering this more completely , this account is supposed to be a “fun fact!” sort of account and not an encyclopedia. I only keep records because I claim everything I post is true and it is, so I have the receipts when asked.

Also let’s be real there are 600+ facts in the bot at the moment and counting, and although I have all of them in my own personal database, I would rather spend my energy adding new lore in the current format instead of having to go back and undertake the project of editing every single postable fact in the bot to the new format you’re suggesting. I haven’t even gotten to Nightbringer lore yet. I have SUCH a large backlog in OG alone and I have a bunch of events and DGs and etc still need to comb through.

The only thing I haven’t been keeping track of regarding location of lore is chat conversation names. But the conversation participants are in the screenshot. But otherwise I provide events, DGs, chapter location etc etc.

Also I *like* fetching facts for people. I’m the person who likes feeling useful and I get excited when people actually care about the lore enough to ask, even if I’ve pulled up the same lore piece for someone else before.

Dumping all my sources and hours of hard work into putting the source directly in the bot post is a waste of time for me, and it also allows people to copy and paste into a new bot too easily if they wanted to make another ObeyMe lore bot, therefore taking credit for my hard work and time invested. Which obviously would make me feel crappy.

So I don’t wanna.

And if you REALLY want to know lore facts you can still ask. People who are truly interested in the lore will go out of their way to ask me for sources, I won’t cater to people who don’t make at least minimum effort (demonstrating their active interest) since I’ve already put so much time and energy into this bot.

I was washing dishes and had a thought.

Spoilers past here if you haven't completed the story, so I'm only warning you once!

A lot of exchange Students who use Twitter are worried that the OG Obey Me game isn't going to be getting as much love once Nightbringer comes around.

After 3 or 4 years, you don't get any more birthday or anniversary calls, and we've been at Lesson 80 for darn near almost a year

They also had a line in the newspaper picture about making OM! Nightbringer even bigger and better than the OG, but that it's not stopping (I also noted that they didn't say the story would continue, just that it wasn't going anywhere. Their other apps didn't for a really long time)

What if they're gonna retcon everything in the OG?

The OM devs aren't shy about slyly retconning stuff to make the story work. Lucifer and Michael have changed what angels they are, Simeon has as well, and before the story was that when the boys fell--they met Diavolo's father. He gauged their power, gave them their order and titles.

Yet now, their sins have always been a part of them, but heavily suppressed in their angel days, and the devil king was already asleep underground when they came. According to Nightbringer, RAD didn't exist before the boys fell. But according to the Glory Days card for Lucifer, it did, and he went there on a tour once.

I suppose it could be explained away in, he didn't want to change out of his angel garb because he still considered himself an angel after the fall, being in denial, but then again, in the Lilith flashback he was aware and sad about it.

ANYWAY!

It really wouldn't surprise me if they decided to change MORE in Nightbringer to help the story fit. Or explained the changes that subtly happened like that in the OG was due to the events in Nightbringer.

What if they update from 81-90 or 100 and the last lesson is what sends MC to the past and erases their memory? Lesson 80 ends with MC talking to Solomon and him telling them to tell everyone hi for him before they zip back to the Devildom at will, having mastered teleport magic.

It sorta feels like a "and on and on it goes until the end of time" ending that some anime and manga take, leaving it up to interpretation, or it feels the start of a new season.

80-100 could be the events that lead up to MC meeting the mysterious figure that we see in some of the ads holding the clock. It'll also give us time to romance/get to know the new side characters: Mephistopheles, Raphel and Thirteen before the end.

I could easily see lesson 100 ending with "the story continues? In Obey Me! Nightbringer!"

Then we pick back up in OM! Nightbringer as both a sequel and a prequel and it totally changes everything?

A way to experience that first time feeling, but with characters we know and love because our interfering messes with the ending.

Kinda weird though, as OM was the first SWD game that broke away from their typical set up to Otome games.

I said before but I've played a LOT of Solmare games, and they usually went like this: a nondescript-ish (usually a thin, light skinned, brown haired) female would be thrown into a new situation, be helpless and depend on 1 of X amount of guys to defend her.

Depending on her choice, she could get a good, neutral or bad ending to THAT person's story. And each boys involvement with the story changed the ending of the overall tale. No ending was just a like.

I wonder if they're going back to that old model, in that we'll pair off with a boy and go down his route and experience the story in different ways, and getting different endings.

Plus it'll really feel weird with the rhythm gaming aspect, as far as I know, it's a first for Solmare. The rest of the games depended on chance, buying items and leveling up a doll version of your girl.

It used to really annoy me, because you'd need something like gems to get an ultra romantic version of a section of story disguised as a "choice". In it, you'd get super romantic lines and a beautiful picture to go with it, but without outright buying the needed gems or whatever they wanted, you had a snowballs chance in hell of seeing it.

Okay, so… Lesson 40 spoilers ahead. I have many thoughts. Be warned, not all thoughts are positive.

Alright, so… We all know the general thoughts and feelings about the writing in nightbringer especially. I’ll touch on that later- but I will say, i sure as hell don’t think it was good in this most recent lesson.

First, I will say- I did greatly enjoy the individual moments with each of our boys. You’ll never guess who my favorite was- no, don’t look at the blog name- shit, yeah, it was Simeon. A close second was Barbatos, and following that, I loved Solomon in the whole lesson.

Simeon’s individual time was adorable. I loved the callback to the previous lesson. Giving him his own advice, and getting the option to cover his eyes for him as well? I think that was a nice touch. I also loved how we could see the seed of distrust planted in Simeon. We got to see him begin questioning his Father, which I think was actually very interesting. There Will be writing based on that coming from me at some point lol.

Next, Barbatos. I’ve seen other people talking about it, but… He knows. Barbatos SO knows. I loved how they hinted at him knowing that we aren’t from that time.

Lastly on the individual characters, Solomon! Normally, in OM, things that happened a while ago just straight up get forgotten, or brushed under the rug if they conflict with something new. I fully expected that to be the case with telling him his food is hot garbage. But it was very fun to see his endeavors in cooking once more, and actually succeeding with the help of Luke and Barbatos! I still feel bad about telling him the truth, but hey… someone had to. And we had a nice moment where his food was actually appreciated for it!

Now… That’s about all the positive things I have to say about this chapter. Please, click away if you don’t want to see criticism.

So… The goodbye felt lacking. The whole thing did, honestly- but the goodbye especially. You mean to tell me that we spent months building up to this epic moment where we are supposed to be going back home and… That?

1: the whole portal thing was absolutely pulled out of someone’s ass. Unless anyone remembers something I don’t- there was absolutely 0 mention of some hole in the sky that was meant to take us home. It makes no sense, either. We had the OPTION to wait until the founding ceremony, according to Solomon. That’s what made it special, in my opinion. The whole thing felt like laziness and rushed explanation. It feels as though they just didn’t want us to see Lucifer’s speech and wanted some excuse for the boys to “sacrifice” something for us, but really- there’s no reason.

2: You mean to tell me we really didn’t get to figure anything out about nightbringer? I want to be able to say that I trust the writers to give us more on nightbringer in the later lessons, but… We all know how much Solmare loves to just brush things under the rug. I wouldn’t be shocked if we got a half assed explanation, or even just ignored the whole nightbringer dudarino entirely.

3: Now, I can’t personally attest to it since I don’t give as many fucks about the hard lessons… But from what I hear, the hard lesson 40 was kinda bullshit. You’ll have to look for someone else’s explanation (or please, post your experience here!) but basically, from what I gathered, it also seemed very half assed.

4: This one is maybe more subjective, but… It bothers me a LOT that we never came clean. We made this big deal about having the brothers and everyone else trust us, but at the end of the day? We were no better. We hid a huge secret. And, don’t get me started with the whole “we can’t say anything because it will alter timelines” bullshit, because what the hell is the excuse with lesson 16 in OG? We died, then showed up again back then. That’s pretty groundbreaking shit.

ADDITIONALLY… Would that not give something for us to overcome? What is the point of storytelling if not to give the characters a problem? Say the timeline went fucky because we said something- I think that’s a way more entertaining tale than if everything went perfectly according to plan.

I’m really, really irritated that the MC had to be so hypocritical. How is it fair that we demand the trust from others if we won’t place our trust in them?

So… There are my thoughts. I don’t think my experience is universal- people are 100% free to disagree. But, with this being the season finale, I feel it was so… so lacking. Please, share your thoughts!
