Happy birthday!
I couldn’t quite figure out a gift in time. So take these *cats meowing* they’ve been severed from me.
These are my most trusted possessions- Or they were.
My little light bulbs.
It was decided that I wouldn’t have them anymore.
So I guess you can have them!
Happy birthday! My mascara is running. I have to go.
Goodbye everyone! Thank you!

btw this is probably one of the most insane and telling scenes in regards to stewy nd kendall. like the stewy-marcia interaction first off. the way it’s so clearly paralleling kenstewy with logan and marcia. stewy and marcia literally watch their respective persons in silence. also important to note that stewy was one of the first ppl to greet logan when he arrived probably bc he knew that one of the first things logan was going to do was approach kendall and he wanted to get in there first to gauge the situation + logan. but stewy’s concern for kendall in regards to what could happen when he’s in close proximity to logan is so clear and almost synonymous with marcia’s own concern/love for logan at this point. like it seems intentional that they were shown to be like. logan and kendall’s respective partners here

I have a lot of fondness for clunky Hallmark Christmas romance movies with rock bottom production values, vaguely established and extremely contrived plots, dodgy dialgoue, often questionable line readings, and child actors playing a kid who seems either three years younger or older than themselves. Hallmark have not undermined themselves with glib, self aware irony or attempted to "elevate" the delightful low artform that they excel in. Refreshing, honestly.

I would like to say that @goodboyaudios did a FANTASTIC job voicing Quinn!
I have never wanted to fight a disembodied voice so much in my life

im reading two different books with a main trans male character back to back and i am almost in shock at how jarringly different these portrayals are in terms of quality. (at the risk of ppl getting pissed but i wanna say it anyways, first book was “every heart a doorway” and the book im reading now is “the thirty names of night”) like it helps that the second one im reading was actually written by a nonbinary person and has several things to say about bigotry and being transgender and syrian, but the first one was basically begging for brownie points by constantly having kade experience and recall transphobia at kinda random times that really didnt add anything to the story that we didnt already know, and kade never really gets to talk about his trans experience beyond being misgendered and disowned. and that’s not to say i think the first author is transphobic and got off on his suffering or anything, i think she had good intentions and wanted to talk about bigotry towards kids, nor that no trans man will ever read this book and feel seen by kade and appreciate his character, which i think matters the most at the end of the day, the actual execution just feels clumsy. meanwhile im only one chapter into the second book and it already has more to say about how transphobia affects the main character and how it affects his relationship with teta and they even have an uncomfortable gynecology scene that perfectly captures the dismissiveness and dysphoric interactions but does so with just enough respect and intent that it feels authentic without being exploitative.

i get that it's fun from a fan perspective and i'm not trying to disparge that, but I think analysis wise, trying to overly determine scientific understanding to the canon framework kind of. misses the lens through which the framework is asking to be understood in the first place.
it's in the name and what's associated w it. the literary canon which upholds a specific body of texts as worthy of acclaim. the 'canon' as used in a colloquiel sense in fan communities to talk about about what elements of a text are unquestionably certain. hell (though i'd personally say spiderverse probably isn't intentionally invoking this subtext), canon as law by which you are judged.
'canon' in spiderverse is specifically being utilised as a vehicle for the characters to question the purpose of suffering within their lives (and because they are characters for which these aren't imagined stakes, they place it within a framework of fate), and as the means to ask the audience to interogate why we we uphold particular elements or beats of The Spiderman Story as ‘legitimise’ that retelling

listening to an audiobook of a book I'd loved as a kid, and... it's way more racist than I remembered. In a couple different ways... stuff I hadn't noticed before, the way the author (who is the reader) does the voices, and... it's a different edition, which I first noticed by the fact that a few measurements were in centimeters rather than inches, and a character’s name is different. But as I continued, there's a bunch of sentences scattered through the book which just weren't there in the version I've read before. (and one line which I was used to that this edition lacks.) And a lot of these additional sentences... make the book more racist.
I have to wonder, was this the work of a localizer? In addition to changing the measurements to be more easily understood by an american reader, did they purposely trim off or modify racist lines?
I'm not sure I'm going to finish listening, honestly

"Prostitution is the world's oldest profession..." and "The "i" in lie" are great songs because they both talk about the same thing -- selling yourself out in the music industry-- from two different viewpoints

so far behind that I’m going through some sort of middle school crush drama at age 19 in college. and I know there’s no such thing as being “behind” but I feel behind.

Fun (not so fun) fact (yes, its worth reading to the end): when I went to the mcr concert last summer I somehow convinced my "old money lana del ray aesthetic" sister to join me in the 8 hour long line of fellow emos. my sister had borrowed my dad's concert pass so that she wouldn't have to pay but there was one crucial problem- my sister is not a 50 year old man like on the photo. this isn't the fun fact tho because the guy lets her pass with nothing more but an amused look. the fun fact comes several months after the fact. because my dad, being the jokester he is, actually picked a picture of him AND his colleague for the concert pass. as faith would have it this is the same colleague who turned out to be an murderer and chopped up another fellow colleague of his. so yeah, a convicted murderer was a essential part of my first mcr concert.

I wish I could touch my friends
Cuddle close, idly play with their hair, feel down their neck and arms, fidget with their fingers, etc
But I'm just so Aware of touching. I'm so sensitive and conscious of where they are in relation to me. There's only one person that my brain allows itself to switch off and just touch, and even then it immediately snaps back to reality when he tries to touch me.
My body rejects everything beyond a quick hug and that makes me so sad and frustrated
