zero hesistation ougoku danganronpa like what is you people's PROBLEM??? "it's abusive" jesse what the fuck are you talking about. Ouma did not "manipulate" him Gokuhara knew exactly what he was doing. Ouma explicitly told him his plans for the Insect Meet and Greet in the FTE's right before the event, and Gokuhara got mad at him because he lied about liking bugs, (which Ouma had to do because you've all seen how Gokuhara reacts to people that don't. you've seen it) NOT because he suddenly realized he was being manipulated or something. So many people dismiss the sheer amount of agency Gokuhara actually had in chapter 4, in favour of painting the situation as just "poor stupid baby gonta got tricked into murder by the big bad ouma :((((" while. he is not STUPID (HE IS LITERALLY A SCIENTIST??) he was not COERCED into his crimes, he was a WILLING ACCOMPLICE!!!!!! I FEEL LIKE I'M LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND!!!!! He did it in a misguided attempt at mercy killing his classmates after finding out the world got fucked and everything sucks now. There are multiple pieces of dialogue that highly imply Ouma did in fact also want to mercy kill the class - which also makes sense as it would end the killing game (you know his. main. true. goal.) I've never sent death threats, Anon hate, or insulted someone on the basis of their personal life.

That's why my Tumblr experience, although plagued with toxicity, hasn't driven me completely mad yet.

Because no matter how angry people get at me, they never have enough ammo to shoot me into "cancelled" yet.

They can't write a list of all the "bad things I've told my followers to do" or "the people I've encouraged to harass others" or all the homophobic/racist/sexist/ableist things I've said becausee that and they have no proof of that.

I mean think about it, there are real pieces of shit on Tumblr who actively bully others and spend all of their time sending Anon hate, receiving it, using problematic language, throwing tantrums, stalking blogs they hate.

They open themselves up to hate and to toxicity and arguments.

They leave trails and evidence of all the bitching they've done, and advocating for this or that.

Some people end up saying something racist or doing something incredibly stupid like trying to call out someone for being homophobic when they're gay, or some shit.

If you only ever argue with someone over the basis of their argument, and don't make implicit assumptions about who they are as people, then the worst thing people can do is make assumptions about you.

That are wildly off base.

I told people who were shitting on someone for headcanoning Yuri Katsuki from Yuri on Ice as ace to shut the fuck up and stop harassing her.

That got me called transphobic and homophobic for weeks.

And you know what, none of that personally bothered me much because I know I'm not.

And I know that asexuality is not fucking heterosexuality, nor is headcanoning someone as asexual homophobic.

She explicitly said that she headcanoned Yuri as biromantic, yet people were accusing her and asexuals of being dirty straight cishets...which is funny, given that a lot of them were just straight girls hopping on a yaoi bandwagon that they'd leap off of in a month.

Anyway.

Best way to avoid being completely run off Tumblr?

Be like me and be fine with people wildly making shit up about you.

It's the internet, anyone can call you homophobic for nothing. They can call you "scum of the earth" even when nazis exist on Tumblr, lol.

The trick is never giving them the evidence they need to make those cute little call-out compilation posts.

And if they have any evidence at all from your younger days, they'll be so super specific and context based that most people will just shrug and say well I don't know what that means.

I have yet to see any series in which fujoshi “support” a pedophilic relationship. Literally the only one that comes to mind for me is Boku no Pico, which was created by a man for men. Might just be my very extremely sheltered ass but in terms of series portraying pedophilic relationships in a positive or romantic light - or fujoshi accepting it as positive and romantic - I’m drawing a complete blank.

Age gap discourse is bullshit if both parties are over the AoC and consenting, but I give this person credit for distinguishing age gaps from being pedophilic, because while age gap ships do run the risk of exploitation and power imbalance, if they’re over the AoC it’s not pedophilia.  Even if one or both of the parties is under the AoC Romeo and Juliet laws exist for a reason.

Name one actual instance where you have seen this happen in this day and age. This sounds like something I did when I was like, fourteen or fifteen. Aka, yes, assholeish behavior, but nothing I wouldn’t expect from a goddamn teenager.

If they are a teenager, you educate them on why what they’re doing is wrong. If they persist, yeah, read ‘em the riot act.  But having been a fourteen/fifteen year old teen whose only positive gay representation was in smutty fanfic, and being a new atheist after having lived years as a Roman Catholic (which is patronizing towards LGBT+ folks at best), most will either grow out of their behavior or be willing to correct it.

There’s already a name for adult women who do this: Homophobes. Not fujoshi.  As has been explained ad nauseam, they are not synonymous terms.

Probably because it’s easier and more satisfying to bully and break unpaid content creators who make free stuff for their fandoms than it is to go after a multi-billion dollar company who could care less about you.

It would really be nice if anti-fujoshi understood the concept of “context” and “nuance” they were harping on me for apparently ignoring a few days ago.  Whether or not something like this is “blatantly transphobic” means taking a critical look at the author’s tone, the surroundings in the story, the characters themselves, the structure and flow of the plot. In other words, it means actually putting some thought into the thing you’re reading, which doesn’t seem like something these people do when it comes to yaoi - it’s either all bad or “no that’s not yaoi the representations too positive”.

I mean, for me, “enjoy” means “indulging in a piece of fiction that allows me to escape the utter loneliness and discontentment that has become my life over the past thirty-one years”. Shockingly enough, it usually ends up being tender smut, nuanced and complexed stories, or one of the few kinks that I have. I immediately back-click if there’s evidence of graphic CSA, rape, or abuse, even if it’s not portrayed in a positive or fetishizing light. Which in my current fandom, has been...about .00000000000000000000000001% of the time, at worst.

Lol, do I really sound American?:D I’m actually from Germany, so German is my mother tongue! Other than that, I consider myself pretty fluent in English (your assumption of me being a native speaker flatters me so much, you have no idea) and I guess my French is decent. I can order food and ask for directions in Spanish (ayyyy) and studied Hindi for two semesters at Uni. Also I’m currently learning Japanese for my degree in Linguistics.

My all time favorite anime is definitely Arslan Senki! Besides that, I also love Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Assassination Classroom, Durarara, Hunter x Hunter and pretty much every existing sports anime (Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basuke, Daiya no Ace, Free!, Yowapedal, Yuri on Ice, Prince of Tennis,.. although Haikyuu is my favorite) I enjoy most genres as long as the plot and characters appeal to me.

Yeah! I really love manga and I’ve read tons of shoujo when I was younger (I bingeread every night in middle school tbh) Nowadays though, not so much anymore.. It’s not that I came to hate it, I just don’t have as much time unfortunately-.-’ I do read the new Bnha and Haikyuu chapters on a weekly basis, but I can’t manage more than that. I also read yaoi/shounen-ai manga and doujinshi from time to time, but it’s not as much of an obsession as it was a few years ago. However, I own a couple of manga series (Bnha, Haikyuu, Arslan Senki), which I love to reread in my free time😊

hey, we share a love for mirio, so do you maybe have a few anime recommendations, or any good anime you’re watching now?

uhuhuhu birds of a feather flock together;))) Of course I can dish out some recommendations, but I’ll start with what I’m watching atm. I started rewatching Daiya no Ace not so long ago (due to the announcement of Season 4) so I sometimes watch a few episodes of that when I find the time. Also, and this is a recommendation as well, there’s this new track and field anime called Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Run with the Wind) coming out every Friday and it’s hilarious. If you like sports anime, you should definitely give it a go! The last anime I’m rewatching right now is Sukitte Ii na yo (Say I love you), cause I’ve been in a shoujo mood lately and after several years I still can’t deal with the cuteness of this show. Now for recs.. this is hard, since everyone has a different taste in series, but other than the shows I’ve named in the “Favorite anime” question, I’d recommend Wotakoi (Wotaku ga Koi no Muzukashii). It’s a very sweet anime about the love stories of otakus, so if you like a good laugh and lots of fluff, this show is for you (11eps). Same goes for Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (12eps + 6 short specials). Shounen-wise I enjoyed for example Noragami, Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Magi. Shoujo-wise I can always rewatch Toradora, Kimi ni Todoke and Itazura na Kiss. Sorry for rambling, there are just too many!😅

No worries! I use she/her pronouns and I’m pan, slightly favoring men. Probably due to the fact that I’ve only had hetero relationships so far. Though, I really don’t care about my partner’s gender🤷‍♀️

Your question isn’t weird at all! I’m sorry to hear that you don’t feel well lately and I’m glad my posts are able to cheer you up a bit<3 I, for my part, am a very optimistic person and always try to concentrate on the positive things in my life, but I cannot deny that due to my personal problems I’ve spent many nights sleepless as well. Unfortunately, there’s no recipe for happiness, but here are some things you should always keep in mind should you feel down: Don’t surround yourself with toxic people. Don’t let them in your life and if they already are, either ignore them or cut them off. The latter won’t always work, since the world of adulthood is a cruel place, but try to develop a thick skin and don’t let them abuse the power over you that they don’t actually have. Try to talk with people. I can tell from experience that talking about your problems will almost always make you feel better, or at least lighter afterwards. Think positive. There’s never only black and white, so even if everything seems hopeless or bland, you should never cease to search for the good aspects. An example from me: Uni fucks me up real bad atm. I have six exams and one term paper to write this semester and I’m seriously afraid of failing. I’ve always had insane expectations of myself, because when I was a toddler, my parents found out that I was highly talented and that has been a as much of a curse as it is a blessing throughout my entire life. Whenever something gets too much for me and I end up in a slump, I think about how grateful I am to have so many wonderful friends. I think of all the things I plan to do with the money I earn, such as travelling, buying manga, movies, clothes,.. and even if that might not seem like a trivial matter for some people, I think of all the amazing anime coming out this year: Ice Adolescence, One Punch Man Season 2, Attack on Titan Season 3, Fruits Basket remake, Bnha Season 4, Haikyuu Season 4, Daiya no Ace Season 3.. Why am I naming these? Because they keep me going. They give me something to look forward to. They make me realize that I’m extremely grateful to be alive, because I get to experience these works. I get to discuss my favorite shows with people, who share my interests! I get to scream about Mirio’s bara arms with you guys! If that isn’t something to be cheerful about, I don’t know what is<3
