I love how you rank up twice during the engine room scene. I know the meaning behind it is that you're 'understanding who Akechi really is' but like...the implications? because at face value it means Joker watched Akechi have a mental breakdown and try to murder him (again) and was actually kind of into it

idk if anyones ever spoken about this before, but when I watch community I’m kind of under the assumption that Abed, while much more in touch with the narrative than the average character, isn’t actually capable of seeing the show as it happens or truly breaking the 4th wall. While that’s super interesting as a perspective to use while watching, I do think that he is doing the on screen equivalent of someone irl “looking into the camera”. As in, he loves television and uses it as his major method of interacting with the world, and acting like he’s in a tv show is something he does because it helps him, not because he knows he’s in a tv show. In fact, when we see Abed’s version of “community” it’s a multi camera sitcom with a laugh track, not an accurate representation of the real thing. In contemporary American poultry, Abed asks Jeff not to do a “special episode” about him, apparently not aware that he’s already the focus of the episode. It always felt to me that Abed acts like he’s in a television show because he wants to and it just happens to line up with the show sometimes (eg when he “lays low for an episode”). Obviously there’s nuance here, and he obviously has as much if not more influence over the show’s actual presentation as Jeff, but I think it might be diminishing to say that he’s truly aware of the narrative he’s in.

Hey anyone else remember the episode of Adventure Time called "Evergreen" where it's revealed that the original bearer of the crown to whom it was "forever linked" was actually a neglected child (and prior reincarnation of Finn) named Gunter trying to be like his wizard father?? Anyone??? Because I had fully forgotten until re-watching the episode last night and I'm losing my mind about the implications.
(This episode is also a devastating look at how a mistreated child unconsciously learns that he must treat himself and those he has power over as cruelly as he has been treated. Adventure Time has so much sadness and madness, y'all.)

Kakashi and Gai’s rivalry isn’t just a breath of fresh air because they aren’t pushed apart thus never genuinely connecting and being vulnerable with each other, but because it’s not made to be a joke either.
Their rivalry clearly could’ve been written one sided entirely, where Gai tries to engage Kakashi and he doesn’t entertain him, but he doesn’t. He participates and enjoys it. Kakashi is as odd and perhaps at times even odder than Gai and that’s why they work so well together imo

I just had the terrible thought what if Carmy knows that the best meal of Sydney's life was at EMP, just not which dish - he thinks that the best thing she ever ate was something that asshole David Fields made him cook, and so he tries to get into that headspace for her.
Kind of like he tries to become a proto-Mikey for Claire, he assumes Sydney wants him to be the kind of person who would make those David Field-esque dishes.
"this is what you wanted originally, and that's what I'm giving you, and it's so awesome"
"no, not awesome, dude"
To paraphrase Tommy McGee, Carmy is after all just a man trying to make Sydney happy

Pros of watching The Midnight Gospel: it's an incredible show, it feels very transformative, and it's short if you don't have time to commit to something long. Great to binge
Cons (if you interpret them that way, they could just be more pros): you might cry, don't be surprised, especially if you binge it! And I feel like I can't watch anything else now since it was such a magnificent, wacky, introspective work.

I love this moment specially because you can see how safe they feel with each other, how at ease they feel with each other. Gina just showed Ricky the very first song she has ever written for him about them and she feels so safe and secure being that vulnerable with him, and he is such a pillar for her such a grounding presence such a reassuring presence. She knows that he is her right person and now she gets to reap the benefits of that. And for him to be so wanted by another person so valued and thought of so highly. Like being loved and loving the right person just feels good and you can see it written all over there faces.

Under the cut are mostly self-insert doodles of decreasing quality. Again, not much directly tied to Team Fortress 2. Might as well toss these out while I have no access to my puter. Much yapping under the cut and in the tags incoming.
Another self-insert, this time less of a "here's me as a tenth class" and more of a "here's my game experiences translated into the class I would take the place of". The Cleaner. Although I guess they could still be wearing either suit. It doesn't matter that much.
That one Convict's Case taunt with Backup would be extremely funny, because the man would be on the verge of a breakdown (he does not want to go to jail so bad you have no idea). The second image- I owe no explanation. You know what I am. You see the pattern with my favourites.
The duality of the man. Resting face versus "just heard you express interest in religion/Russian folklore" face. He's not that hard to make friends with, when you pull him away from all the explosions.
Some doodles of trying to figure his face out. Unfortunately, the more I stare at him, the more I worry that he looks like A Certain Guy With The Last Name "Kazarin", and the fear of never being original in my life caught up to me.
Don't look at me, don't perceive me, I refuse to explain any of my actions to you.
