thinking about this line from wyll: "i was a fool at best; a traitor at worst. and grand duke ravengard suffers neither."
the way he refers to ulder as "grand duke ravengard" here - not "father," or "my father." banishing wyll was a decision ulder made as grand duke, not as wyll's father. it makes me wonder - how many other times did wyll get "duke ravengard" instead of his father while growing up?
did ulder's political position loom over wyll at other times in his life? we know that at the time wyll made the pact, ulder had just recently been appointed grand duke. we also know that wyll was a bit mischievous in his youth. did that ever cause friction between them? did ulder ever see wyll's behavior as a potential threat to his image or reputation? did wyll ever feel pressure to behave a certain way because of his father's position?
the way wyll says that line like he's repeating something that's been said to him... i want to know - why are "fool" and "traitor" the only two options that ulder afforded to wyll? could ulder really not see him as anything else? did he view having wyll as a son as something to "suffer?"

Why did arthur decide that “good dog” was an appropriate phrase to use in a hostage situation? This is not the time nor the place for that dude. Calm your ass down.

Cas + Faith
9/?- 5x16: Dark Side of the Moon
The alternate quotes are from the discussion of this moment in episode 23 of @thecascast, Dark Side of the Cas. The idea of doing a series following Cas' faith journey had been floating around in my head for a while, but this discussion is what lead to me actually doing this series so thanks y'all.
ID: Three images of a digital drawing of Cas from episode 5x16 of Supernatural. The drawing shows Cas' head and shoulders, viewed from above, with his face turned upwards towards the viewer. His expression is upset. The background is in shades of orange and the drawing is set within a circle, with a quote around the outside. In the the first image, the words read "Fuck you. I believed in-". In the second image, the words read "You son of a bitch. I believed in-". In the third image, the words read "You coward. I believed in-". The difference in the quotes is the only difference between the three images. End ID.

(x) text below the cut:
The Understudy
Hieu Minh Nguyen
Even in California
all of my friends require touch
to get through winter.
It’s true, I am waiting to be in love
in front of the people I love.
He says, I’m glad you’re here
& I want to cover his mouth
to warm my hands.
Of course I understand
how one would mistake
that earthquake for a passing train
but what do we do with the stillness
when after great change
nothing moves, but his hand
sliding a glass of wine
across the table
instructing me to drink
with a single nod.
I bring the glass to my face
but don’t let a drop pass my lips.
Beside him, I am almost somewhere
I’d like to be for a while.
To make him smile
I tell him I am bad at sex.
To make him kiss me
I tell him when I’m happy
I go looking for things
I haven’t lost yet.
