have you listened to the song "Partner in Crime" by Madilyn Mei? If not, I strongly recommend it because it makes me think of Unwanted Souls!Alastor. Specifically early days of when the reader tries to push him away

**Heavy spoiler if you haven't caught up with this series!!!!!

You're right; this matches well in the beginning when Reader/you are trying to push Alastor away so you can go back to your little world of self-indulgence. But what happened afterwards is Alastor staying and showing you care and devotion you never had.

Now, if you keep up with everything I posted about {Unwanted Soul}, you'll know that I never planned for this oneshot to end up as a series with this much background and connections for you. So, in Part 1, it was entirely matched with the request and that long to avoid a continuation. But then you saw the results, hahahahaha~

Anyways. Part 1 never mentioned anything of a dilemma of you pushing Alastor away yet wanting him near you, the later parts did. If you piece back everything, you'll see what I mean with this song.

Here, this is a reference to when you had that breakdown when Alastor was more than late for that grocery shopping. You hoped it work, but when it did, you just feel so lonely. Everywhere you see in the apartment, especially the living room since that's where Alastor always was. So you retreated into your room, where he barely had permission to enter. With low self-esteem and self-harming thoughts, you conjured a knife and just stabbed yourself to distract yourself from the mental pain.

Maybe I'm just an anomaly Even my demons have their families Truly something must be wrong with me To need you as much as I do

Naturally, this is a reference to your living years. You felt alienated in your life and among the people that surrounds you. Yes, you're stable and successful to the point that you don't have to worry about getting hungry or not having a house to return to. But you felt so empty with what you're doing. You wanted companionship that you can lean on. Then Alastor comes along and you tell yourself it's too good to be true and pushed him away to protect yourself from a heartache.

Sidetracking, this is referring to you quitting your job as an informant for Lucifer. It's some time after you mastered the two powers you had but never used. You think it's too powerful and you're not worthy of it, so you hide it away. Then it went to thinking you're not fit to work for Lucifer, the King of Hell. Worse when you come to see him as a friend instead of your employer and superior being. It was easy to put a stop to it since Lucifer wasn't as persistent with keeping you by his side than Alastor. (haha this explained why I never put Lucifer as a love interest or show competition between him and Alastor)

This is where you basically accepted that Alastor was a yandere for you and let it progress. You know how it is with this type of character. You were just too damaged and desperate for something you longed for that you didn't care anymore. It was a good thing that Alastor saw how damaged you are by that self-harm you inflicted on yourself, better now than later when you were more firm with your feelings for him.

I'll switch the narrative here. This matches more for Alastor. This talks about the time when you sent him to the hotel to work (and leave you alone). A little interest that shouldn't be explored for or for you to personally be involved with. So Alastor does his best to keep the hotel matters at the hotel, never needing you to leave your home to investigate anything. Alastor knows you moved him out because you were caring too much and you're trying to stop it. He doesn't care, he wants you. But he'll be patient and give you time, he knows you'll be back for him. And boy was the wait worth it when he saw you fight for him.

Something tells me you aren't coming Guess that I'm truly doomed

When Alastor was nearly brought down by Adam and realized that his power wasn't enough (since it was limited by you). That moment, he was fully prepared to just teleport back to your apartment and stay there.

This is when, moments before your slumber, you told Alastor that you missed him and removed the rule that blocks his connection with you. You know you're not dying, maybe, but there was that slim chance. You also know that wouldn't be what Alastor thinks, and in a way, you reassure him.

I'm just a pawn in your game Not your partner in crime

You used to think that Alastor was using you for something. In fact, you looked for evidence to prove your theory. But the battles he started for you, the demons he killed for you, and the words that made up deovtion and promise to you, it all pointed against that. Isn't it all so weird?

You're slowly killing me And yet I don't mind (You were never meant to win) You're slowly killing me But please take your time

This is where you accepted that you're not gonna be able to push away Alastor anymore. So you take a back seat and let it happen. You were never meant to win against Alastor's love for you, you were never meant to push him out of your life. What Alastor's killing is the doubts and reason you have to push him away, it takes time to heal and for Alsator to find out about your past. So... You want him to take his time.

"Hey, Alastor." You smiled as you waved your hand at him to beckon him over.

"Yes, My Love?" Alastor skipped over, throwing away a demon's limb behind him comically which earned him a burst of carefree laughter from you.

In a swoft move, you pulled him to your level and gave him a butterfly kiss on the lips then stared into his eyes, "I love you, so dearly. Never leave me."

Alastor felt himself melting from your words and the plead he saw as his order to keep you forever. What ever were you thinking to suddenly say this? He won't question since you ended up demanding his attention and presence. So he smiled and nodded, "Of course. I'll never dream of leaving you. I love you too much for that to ever happen, My Beloved."

When you first arrived at Devildom as an exchange student for Diavolo’s program, Lucifer thought very little of you. His attitude towards you was that of an apathetic caretaker. As long as your health was in sufficient shape and you were still in one piece, there was no need for him to get further involved with you.

Conversations with him were brief and concise, never without purpose. Even polite pleasantries were rare, only spoken in the presence of Diavolo. He never went out of his way to speak with you unless he felt you were making too much noise for his liking. The only indication you had that he held even an ounce of emotional intelligence was when he spoke of his brothers.

His impassive nature towards you slowly turned to irritation and distaste as you became more and more involved with his brothers; unsure of your true intentions, Lucifer became wary of you. Your persistence in earning his respect as well only deepens his distrust towards you. Only through extreme efforts made by you and his brothers does he slowly start to warm up to you.

As quickly as a vague sense of fondness appeared, it was shrouded with a new sense of pure rage when you mention his youngest brother, Belphegor. From the moment the true nature of Belphegor’s whereabouts were revealed to the moment Barbatos sent you to the past on Diavolo’s order—Lucifer’s feelings were complicated to say the least.

He felt conflicted. His mind still clouded with distaste from your earlier outburst and a hint of fondness growing for you. Your seeming betrayal and the unveiling of your true intention left an awful taste in his mouth—one he couldn’t seem to shake. He could deny it no longer, you held more influence over him than he would like. You had become a growing thorn in his side and more than that a growing rose in his brothers’.

It became even more clear with the way Beel grew more protective of you in his presence. How his brothers insisted you stay because you were “family.” He let out a brief chuckle at the audacious sentiment.

But as much as his pride wished to be, his heart would not waver. He had fallen for you. The sin of pride, the mighty first-born—fallen angel from the heavens has fallen for a mere human.

Dom Reader, Yandere Brothers - Greed Part 2

The series: You become the master of seven unruly brothers - and they don't want to let you go so easily. How it happened, and what it means for each of them.

Tags/warnings for this section: dom reader (obviously), yandere Mammon (obviously), afab reader (no pronouns used, addressed as 'master'), finger sucking, handjobs, Mammon murders and MC is into it, plot at the beginning porn at the end. Descriptions of gore/a dead body - if you're familiar with the ring of greed in Dante's Inferno, think that. Frankly excessive use of 'good boy'.

Note - reader's genitals are not mentioned in this fic, but they are AFAB for the rest of the series, so keep that in mind.

Greed Part 1

Things with Mammon had been... different, after that night.

There are no well-kept secrets in the House of Lamentation. Your weekly visits to Belphegor were proof that even Lucifer couldn't keep things hidden for long. News of you and Mammon's encounter spread quickly, and everyone had their own opinion on it. You survived Lucifer's icy glare that morning at breakfast and every morning after - and now, two weeks later, the House of Lamentation seems to have settled once more into an uneasy peace.

Mammon had changed too. He had been... sweeter.

It started small. He'd get you little trinkets - never delivered by him, always by his crows. Plausible deniability, you guessed. If you rejected them, he could put the blame on the birds.

Then slowly he escalated when you responded positively. A small bouquet of flowers on your desk. Some chocolates he'd delivered straight to your room so there was no chance Beel would find them. Last weekend, he'd taken you shopping and Mammon had told you to go wild - and while you made sure he was still a good, responsible demon with his money, you did let him spoil you a bit.

It was adorable to watch Mammon's chest puff up with pride, his smile the brightest thing in the Devildom when you thanked him for his latest present. When you wore the clothes he'd paid for. When you called him your good boy.

So you aren’t entirely surprised by the heart shaped box on your desk when you walk into your room after class. It's the most openly romantic gift yet, the tin delicately embossed with swirling golden patterns over the red surface. No brand gives you a hint of what chocolate or biscuits lay within - or perhaps it was some piece of jewellery?

You drop your bag onto your bed before walking over to your latest gift with a smile. Mammon had gotten detention - again - so you know you're going to have to wait about an hour for his return. You’d have to thank him then.

Your smile drops once you open the box.

You stumble back, falling against the floor with a jolt of pain that whipped your already racing heart into a frenzy. A hundred possibilities whirl through your head, each more dire than the last.

Had someone gotten into the House of Lamentation, into your bedroom, to leave this for you? Had one of the other brothers done it? Was the Lucifer’s way of warning you off? There’s no way it could be an intruder right? Were you really as alone in the room as you thought?

The smell wafts from the box to where you sit and you taste copper on your tongue. You're convinced someone's going to leap out from under your bed or out of your closet any second and yet you can’t get your legs working to move, to flee - to find anyone, even Lucifer.

There, in the pretty heart-shaped box, lays a heart.

Your initial moment of panic gives way to your brain trying to rationalise.

The heart was not human - didn’t even seem to be from anything humanoid. Demon Anatomy isn’t a subject you're supposed to take until next semester, but you're pretty sure even Beel’s literal heart couldn’t be that big. No one had attacked you while you were half-incapacitated on the ground and when you look around, you realise there aren’t many hiding spaces in your room.

So. One of the brothers or an invited guest.

You pick yourself off the ground and examine the heart closer, breathing slowly through your mouth.

Yeah, definitely too big to be a human or a demon. Or an angel. You think.

It looks more like something Cerberus’ size, but you know it’s not the HoL’s resident hound, because you’re pretty sure that thing is unkillable to everyone but Lucifer.

All in all, it’s a heart. You’re never going to figure out what it’s from on your own, but you can tell a few things about it. The remains of the veins and arteries still attached have been sliced neatly. Only one bears more damage - from the size you figure an artery. Whoever cut this one tried to hide it, but you can still see where there must have been a puncture just above where it was removed, the ragged edge remaining at odds with the rest of the smooth cuts.

Okay.

You put the lid back on before you think about fingerprints. You just can’t stand the smell anymore.

Your feet carry you to the library and you’re halfway there before you realise you’re holding the box. You don’t go back and put it down. Your room still reeks of heart and you have a disturbing mental image of Beel eating it.

Maybe an anatomy textbook might give you a clue as to what it is. Or maybe-

“Good afternoon, MC,” Satan greets from his armchair.

You don’t have a pact with Satan yet, but you like to think you’re on good terms with him. While he had asked you to shut Mammon up next time, Satan hadn’t seemed at all upset about the development between you and his brother. Just the noise level.

“Hey,” you croak back. Satan looks up from his book, noticing for the first time something is wrong.

“Ah,” Satan says. There’s a knowing look in his eye as he sniffs the air, examining the box in your hand. “I was wondering when this would happen.”

"When what would happen?"

Your voice is still higher than you'd like and you're not sure how to feel about Satan's calm demeanor. Perhaps sensing your distress, Satan smiles. It's probably meant to reassure you.

"Let me see?" he asks, gesturing for you to bring the box over. You sit on the table as he pops the box open, your leg bouncing nervously.

"Why was it in my room?" you ask slowly, fingers brushing over the pages. The smell is starting to get to you again. Rot.

"Dessowaries are fast. It's what makes them dangerous and also extremely difficult to kill. In fact, of all of us, Mammon's speed is what makes him the only one capable of consistently taking one down - without the use of traps, anyway." Satan gestures towards himself and you wonder about how casually he says it, wonder how often the brothers went hunting before your arrival. "It's for you. To demonstrate his capacity as a hunter."

The explanation goes a long way to calm you, but you still have a few questions. You flip through the pages of the book, eyes lazily scanning a few sentences.

Satan shrugs at your question. "Mammon knows a decent amount of human culture, but I doubt he knows much about the romantic endeavours of humans. The serious ones, anyway. If you explain to him that this is not done in the human world, he'll probably be embarrassed, but he'll understand."

You nod along with his explanation with a frown. This is weird but... Mammon clearly didn't have bad intentions. If anything, he was trying to do the right thing by Devildom culture. Trying to take this seriously if what Satan said was any indication.

"Or..." Satan trailed off.

"Or?" You meet his eyes. Satan had a look on his face you tended to associate with Lucifer about to have a bad time.

"This is a cultural exchange program, after all. You could always just... partake in Devildom culture."

You look at the box beside you. At the heart inside it.

"Is there a way to get rid of the smell?"

Devildom Botany is one of your favourite subjects.

For one, turns out humans can't be allergic to most Devildom plants. The teacher's also pretty welcoming and seemed genuinely excited to have a student who actually asked questions. Not to mention the more practical subject - planting, pruning, writing down observations on the effect of different light levels and feed - gave you a break in the day.

The only downside was the jerk sitting next to you.

A clear justification, in front of all your classmates - including Mammon - to push back against what he was doing.

But unfortunately, he was a little too smart. Always subtle. Never enough to justify snapping back, not unless you wanted everyone to think you were weak. For the most part, you could ignore him anyway.

Until today.

One of your three plants, the three you'd raised from seedlings, that you'd spent all semester working on, is totally destroyed. Your frozen gerbera, carefully grown and protected from any heat source, is melted - its flowers still dripping with their protective icy sheen while its stem dried and withered from the heat

Your mandrake and blood moon flowers seem okay, but you'd worked hard on that gerbera. You feel Mammon's arm wrap around your shoulders as you gently check the base of the plant, confirming what you'd feared. There's no way to salvage it.

Your teacher tuts sympathetically. "Looks like it got too hot overnight."

After a discussion, it's clear your grade won't be hurt by this. Anyone could've messed with the cooling charm on the pot. You'd been growing some of the more difficult plants anyway, so just the two remaining would be enough to pass. Even pass well!

But that plant had been months of effort. You'd been proud of it. Tears prick at the corners of your eyes that you push down. You aren't going to cry in front of the whole class. Especially when you meet eyes with that asshole over the remains of your frozen gerbera and you know he'd done it.

Mammon convinces you to skip the next class - it isn't hard. You're still filled with jittery, nervous energy, your hands are shaking, and you feel stupid. It was a plant, hell, it was an assignment.

But it was months of your hard work, and Mammon never once judges you for your tears.

A few days and a movie night with your pact demons later, you feel better.

Lucifer, in a rare show of genuine thoughtfulness, had gotten you a little frozen gerbera pot for your room. Beel had shared his lunch with you for the past two days. Levi had you playing video games that got out some of your lingering anger.

Mammon, meanwhile, was out past curfew.

You wait with the door to your room open, knowing you'd hear him come in. Mammon breaking curfew isn't entirely weird, and it wasn't even that uncommon for him to forget to text you back if he was on a winning streak at the casino or dealing with some witches.

It's just the aftermath of the flowers that has you a bit nervous, you tell yourself. Mammon isnt’t acting strange at all.

Tension you hadn’t realised you’d been holding relaxes as you hear the front door open and close, Mammon’s soft footsteps headed towards your room. There's another odd sound though - a dragging, a thumping, like a sack being pulled and kicked around.

You poke your head into the hallway and froze. Your hand grips the door tightly.

There in the hall is Mammon, in his demon form. Blood splatters his body and stains his clothes - you can’t see any injuries on him - and the sound was-

It takes you a moment to realise that the thing Mammon was holding had once been humanoid. You can see the memory of limbs in the twisted form. The torso at the centre, what was once a head - now barely more than blackened and charred skin stretched over a skull, some parts still glistening wet muscle, jaw unhinged in a final, desperate scream. Mammon carries it with two golden hooks embedded into the thickest parts of its flesh, cursing as he struggles to find a solid grip when the skin kept - kept sloughing, melting off-

You don’t know what sound you made. Your elbow might’ve knocked against the door, you might’ve gagged at the sight, but suddenly Mammon’s eyes are on you and you flinch back.

“Shit,” he says.

You back off into your room and hear his approach again. Mammon finds your doorway, dropping his macabre package just outside. You've backed yourself against the bed without meaning to, but Mammon keeps a respectful distance.

He scratches his neck awkwardly. It's such a simple, painfully Mammon gesture it could’ve made you laugh.

“You weren’t supposed ta… I wanted to clean it up, give it to ya tomorrow… why are you still awake?” That last part comes out accusatory and tugs something free, some part of you that can’t, won’t see Mammon as a threat.

“I was waiting for you, jerk,” you say, and marvel at the smoothness of your voice. “Next time text me back.”

Mammon has the decency to look guilty. Not for murdering whoever that victim had been. For worrying you.

“Sorry, I just… wanted it to be a surprise.” Mammon meets your eyes, bright blue and gold shining in the dim light of your room. "Who is that?" you ask slowly.

Mammon blinks. Twice.

All you can think of is steak. Crispy on the outside, still red on the inside.

You nod.

You have an idea. You aren’t an idiot - or maybe you are, for having a calm conversation when you should be screaming in fear. Mammon was dressing this up as something he did for you and you're pretty sure that was a demon. There's only really one option here.

Mammon confirms it.

Weird Ways The Brother Touch You Headcannons

Belphegor

It is a know fact that Belphie is a yandere, so he tends to get jealous real easily.

If he’s waiting on you to walk to class together or to go home and he sees MC chatting with another lower level demon and laughing, he loses it in a lazy way.

Or slide your hand in the sleeves and hold his through the fabric. Make it better by swinging your arms, so the two of you rock together.

It’s weird to outsiders, but Levi’s just happy to be close to them in any way or shape.

Mammon

He’s a tsundere, so he will be trying to be smooth with it. But for some reason, he saw a guy with his girlfriend’s legs ontop of him and his arms resting on it, and he was like ‘I wanna do that with MC’.

He can’t just straight out ask you to rest your legs on him. He will wait for the perfect moment to strike.

And it came in the form of movie night. He bullied managed to get a spot next to MC on the couch as the movie started playing.

MC kept shifting around trying to get comfortable and saw this as his chance.

“Oi, stop moving around so much. If you need to stretch ya legs, ya could’ve just said it.” Proceeds to grab MC’s leg and throw it on top of his.

He will try to play it off, but his bright red face and shaking hands alert everyone of what was going on.

If MC doesn’t say anything and just snuggle down into him. He will relax a little. Maybe enough to put his hands onto of their leg as the movie continue on.

He had a moment of panic when MC went with Beel to get some more snacks during the movie change and he didn’t know how he was going get them back into that position without looking suspicious.

But worry not, when the movie started, MC swung their legs on top and continued watching the movie.

If you want to give him a real shock, halfway through the movie, just scoot over and snuggled into him. He will be red the rest of the movie and stuttering every time his brother tease him about “why his face so red?”

Lucifer

Many would believe that this demon is not affectionate, but he likes it to be more subtle.

A hand on the lower back while you two walk around the halls of school. This way he feels that he can control what MC does.

His reasoning is because MC seems to like to seek out trouble, so if he keeps that hand there, it will kill that temptation to get themselves in trouble.

The truth is that it just feeds into his Pride. Seeing how big his hand is compared into your human frame.It makes him feel powerful.

Plus when a lower level demon tries to come up to MC, it’s more effective than telling them to fuck off. It’s the class version of it.

Demon tries to flirt with MC. Lucifer slides in and put a hand on their lower back, making them indirectly lean into him. Just one look at a demon and that’s all that is need to say, “They’re mines.”

A hidden one he won’t admit to is the bottom of the skull.

If it’s just MC and him relaxing on his bed, he will pretend to play with the hair in that area, but MC will pick up on it. He doesn’t rub their head or rub his hands through their hair, if their hair allows. It’s always at the back of the bottom.

It’s because that’s were human’s fragile skull is and the beginning of their spine. Not to include so many nerves and blood vessels there.

It shows that MC trust him if they allow him to touch them there and once again, it just feeds into his pride.

Hello anon!

Sorry for the wait! Here is my list so far!

1) Killua Zoldyck

I have explained why here and here there is an analysis of his ability and foiling with Illumi.

I love his growth and the themes he explores. His is basically the story of a child freeing himself from an abusive family. At the same time, he is also challenged not to leave said family behind (especially when it comes to his younger siblings).

Moreover, he is also called out on his tendendy to define himself through creating codependent relationships.

This is something I really enjoyed and that gave his relationship with Gon and his character in general more depth.

2) Alluka (and Nanika) Zoldyck

Alluka/Nanika does not have a very complex psychology nor an arc so far. However, the idea behind her and her thematic resonance is so great that I still adore her!

Alluka is a great example of how to write a symbolic and metaphorical character that is still important for the story.

A lot of themes are entangled in her. She is the child nobody wants and is very fittingly trans and mentally ill coded.

At the same time, Nanika’s ability is nothing, but the wish of a child to make her loved ones happy and a way to show how children imitate and learn from adults. It is a representation of conditional love taken to the extreme.

The way her story is solved in the Auction arc might have been underwhelming plot-wise, but it is perfect thematically. The fact that Nanika is not who Alluka is, but is still important for her and so must be accepted is a deep and wonderful message.

I am also curious to see how the theme of codependency linked to her will be explored in relation to her bond with Killua.

3) Palm Siberia

I love Palm!

She has one of my favourite arcs because it is so refreshing to see the stereotype of the yandere being subverted.

She starts as a mix of different female character stereotypes, but as she gets more focus she blooms into her own character thanks especially to her relationship with Killua.

I love that she is the one that ends the CAA!

3) Meruem

I think he has my favourite arc in the series and his is surely one of the best written (if not the best).

I love how he seems hateful and boring at the beginning of the CAA only to break the readers’ hearts at the end of it.

His growth thanks to his love for Komugi is great because he does not lose the root of his characterization. He remains prideful and competitive and it is specifically this that draws him towards Komugi aka his strongest opponent. Thanks to her he becomes able to appreciate life and humanity and chooses to give up his identity as King to only become Meruem.

He is an example of how a “redemption arc” does not really have to follow a formula and how it can simply be... a normal arc aka a story where a character grows because he is challenged.

5) Morena Prudo

Morena has appeared for like... one chapter(?), but she managed to conquer me thanks to her backstory, her nen ability and this:

I adore her! She is a child who has been refused by society and as a result she wants to tear the society down. She is clearly being set up as a foil to this arc’s major players aka Chrollo, Kurapika and Tserriednich.

Her power is also extremely interesting and already incredibly rich symbolically to the point that I have thought multiple times if I wanna wait or if I wanna start making a Nen and Characters post about her!

6) Chrollo Lucifer

I have discussed him multiple times, so you can just check his tag :)

Here are some metas.

Chrollo is like a devil that steals pieces of others’ identities because he himself is not sure of who he is.

This coupled with intelligence and powers, his foiling with Kurapika and his bond with the Spiders make him an incredibly interesting villain!

7) Hisoka Morow

Hisoka is a great example of how to write a joker character.

He is a man from nowhere and lacks any kind of backstory or root. This makes him perfect to play the part of the joker and so far... he has literally played that part in every arc he has appeared in.

There has been no time he had been completely loyal to a side he has joined.

He acts as a Spider only to fight Chrollo.

He helps Kurapika, but also threathens him.

He helps Gon and Killua in Greed Island, but hides he is working for Chrollo.

He assists Illumi, but lies to him and is about to betray him.

In the current arc he is, as per usual, a wild card.

It is precisely this that makes him such an interesting character to observe.

8) Kurapika

Kurapika’s arcs are among my personal favourites because of the focus being on politics and planning rather than pure fights.

At the same time, Kurapika is an incredible character and I am looking forward to see where his story goes in this arc.

He is self-destroying because he is unable to overcome the grief over losing his tribe and his family.

This leads him to make violence on himself, so that he is turning into someone he is really not.

His nen power is among the most interesting because of how complex and calculated it is and because it is clearly an attempt not to lose his morality to revenge.

9) Gon Freecs

Gon’s development in the CAA is heartbreaking, but incredible and it perfectly deconstructs all those traits that had been praised up until the previous arc.

Gon’s stubborness and willingness to overcome limits are why he is able to make it this far, but the CAA shows also how they can be dangerous and destructive for both himself and others.

10) Illumi Zoldyck

Illumi is hand down a disaster.

He is a terrifying foil to Killua, but also an entertaining character to watch.

I hope his relationship with Hisoka receives more focus because it is honestly hilarious and is strangely working for me :’’’)

I don’t know most of the characters you write for, but I still am able to understand who they are as people from your works which is really cool!! Secondly, I was hoping I could hear your thoughts on the Obey Me characters? You can do as little or as many as you want, whatever you’re comfortable with. And finally, I just wanted to say I hope you have a good day!

Thanks anon! So far I’ve only written a few things, but if you wanna check out what characters I’ll write for, check out my newly posted rules post - for any fandom listed, I’m good writing any character so long as the other rules are followed (ex: any Obey Me character but Luke since he looks and acts like a child).

Since no limit was placed, I’ll just do some general headcanons for the first 4 brothers for now. Know that I’m willing to write about any other characters in Obey Me aside from Luke for future requests :)

So without further ado, some yandere Obey Me bros (under the cut because this got LONG)!

Lucifer

Sadistic - but that’s a given with the game information. To be more specific, he sets strict rules for his darling and is very much a control freak; he has so many things going on in his life that he has to manage out of necessity, but his darling is a special case he’ll gladly take on

If his darling breaks a rule, he enjoys doling out punishments. What type of punishment depends on his mood, the type of incident his darling caused, and if their actions affected Diavolo. God help them if if they insult Diavolo

Possessive with a capital P. His darling is his. No one gets to see them fall to pieces under his hands but him. No one gets to bring them to the peak of pleasure but him. They will fear him the most above all others if that’s the way his darling must cope with his methods. Lucifer would prefer an amicable relationship, but he understands he’ll be met with resistance with the standards he has

Praise will come rarely, so any darling that craves it will have to earn it by being on their best behavior. If his darling does manage to get him to praise them, he’s in a very good mood and will be more open to requests (he won’t let them go, but some new books, hobby materials, or food options are fair game)

He’s a yandere that will lock his darling away for their safety as well as his own comfort and ease. Dangers are everywhere in Devildom, and he knows his darling will manage to find trouble if left to their own devices or with his brothers. He’s not going to risk it. Besides, he’ll have a better hold on his darling if he’s the only one they interact with daily

Going off the last point, Lucifer would also hide his darling away to avoid Diavolo’s attention. By my read on their relationship, Lucifer holds little power to oppose Diavolo thanks to their pact, and Diavolo wanting in on Lucy’s darling would frustrate him beyond words - can’t he have just one thing for himself? I’ll be writing more on a Diavolo/Lucifer/Darling situation after requests are filled, but BOY do I wanna write about this now

Mammon

He’s needy. Mammon craves affection from his darling in any amount they’re willing to give. He’ll be the first to deny it if his darling or someone else points it out, but everyone knows

He Does Not Like To Share His Darling! At all!!! He will pout and whine and get even more clingy if he thinks his darling so much as looks at someone else with interest (imagined or not) - especially his brothers

His punishments are usually to reassure himself that he’s in charge, that his darling did him wrong and they should be grateful he’s their protector, that he even bothered to notice them in the first place. Any other demon would have left them to fend for themselves; he is the best demon a puny human like his darling could ask for

That said, when he isn’t worked up he’s very much a sub in his relationship with his darling and aims to please them. Praise doesn’t come too often for him, and he loves when he can get any positive affirmation. He’ll get testy if his darling outright insults him

He wouldn’t think about locking his darling away until much later. After his darling grows accustomed to living in Devildom, after Mammon starts realizing and (unwillingly) accepting his feelings, he notices how close his darling is with his brothers and the others, how easily they could be stolen away from him… he doesn’t like it one bit

Mammon wouldn’t think much about his plan before he sets things in motion by making a deal with some witches to set up a private space for him and his darling that no one can reach without his say-so. This of course incurs a ton of debt that he’s confident he’ll pay off in a jiffy (he won’t) and he only leaves when he needs to handle paying off his debts or deal with some Devildom official business - he’s the second most powerful demon brother under Lucifer, so as obnoxious as Mammon could be about how “important” he is, he’s not entirely wrong

If he’s in a good mood, he’ll spoil his darling as best he can with any material good he can think they’ll like. Just name it and it’s theirs. Unless of course they upset him, then he’s just as quick to take any privileges he gives away and remind them who’s in charge. It makes him hurt to have to punish his darling, so he tries to avoid it unless he thinks they need a reminder of who has to make the rules around here

Leviathan

Levi doesn’t have much experience with darlings compared to his brothers - throughout the thousands of years he’s lived alongside his brothers, he prefers to shut himself away most of the time. He’s had the least amount of darlings in his lifetime, and when they pass on he secludes himself to fantasize about his perfect darling (who’s usually based on a combination of anime characters and past darlings he’s had)

He’s so insecure, constantly worrying how he isn’t good enough that he bullies his darling into having them convince him that he’s who they want. His darling better be convincing though; if he senses pity or fear or anything else that takes away from their sincerity, he won’t be kind when he’s punishing them

He’s almost as overbearing as Mammon - that’s a feat in itself. Levi won’t isolate his darling though; he’ll manipulate and guilt his darling into wanting to stay with him to avoid his ire. They’ll manage to step on his toes in one way or another, finding some unspoken overstep as an excuse to point out their flaws

Honestly the “transport yourself into a video game” trope opens up so many fun options for Levi to play with his darling. He has games (similar to the one we witness in canon) where he and his darling can spend virtual weeks together without anyone to disturb them. He has games he knows his darling hates - horror games that are gruesome for demons, let alone a human, where his darling can’t escape and can die as many times as it takes for Levi to be pleased before he transports them back out. He has naughty games for when he wants to import his darling to watch them endure whatever scenarios fit his fancy - anything from tentacle porn to gangbangs. By the end of it, his darling will be so grateful to be back in the real world they’ll be begging to stay with him, just as long as they don’t have to go back in a game. Levi uses the affection to his advantage

He forces role play on his darling - Levi as the Lord of Shadows and his darling as his precious Henry. His darling better learn their lines and how Levi likes them to respond if they want to stay on Levi’s good side

His darling’s wardrobe consists of mostly Ruri-chan and Henry cosplay Levi purchases for them. No you can’t change my mind

Of course, if his darling isn’t in a game or reading some top manga series, Levi’s talking about it to them or having them watch/read along with him. He just wants to share what he enjoys with the person he treasures, even if they’re just a simple normie human

Satan

Earlyon, his darling is warned by the other brothers that his smile is fake, that he’scynical and shouldn’t be trusted. But out of all the brothers, he comes acrossas one of the least intimidating, so it’s easy to gravitate towards him

Tbhhe’s likely not interested in his darling at first – humans are lessercreatures to demons, food for most and potentially nuisances when one makes apact with a powerful demon. Until he finds something noteworthy, like how quicklyMammon forms a pact with this human, he doesn’t see much potential

He’s pretty reasonable up until he’s angry; for a darling surrounded by dangers and demons,he appears to be the least likely to harm them, and they accidentally push one of hisbuttons at some point. Once his limit is reached, he is terrifying – wrath isin his name and he lets his darling know when he’s displeased

After the first time he loses his temper, he’ll givehis darling clear warnings before he punishes them. He uses his darling’s fearof his punishments to his advantage, encouraging “good” behavior with thethreat of “or else” in the background

He has some notable similarities with the eldest brother: a sadistic streak a mile long and a preference to dominate/need for control to ensure his darling is undoubtedly his. How Satan shows these traits is different in key ways, however

Satan is sadistic more often when he’s feeling neglected, miffed, or bored with his darling. He’s not as strict as Lucifer, actually allowing his darling the freedom to act on their own accord in most cases. It gives his darling the chance to show him how much devotion they are willing to give him without him commanding it. If he gives an order, however, he expects his darling to obey

Unlike Lucifer, Satan doesn’t have the risk of things going Bad if something doesn’t go his way; Lucifer needs to please Diavolo or risk failing on his end of the pact, and so control is key for him. Satan likes control, but to the extent of knowing he has the final say. Satan doesn’t want to control every aspect of his darling - at the end of the day he wants his darling to voluntarily choose him, even if only out of fear of his displeasure - but he will have them

Satan has his own possessive habits - he needs affirmations that his darling is his. Either he’s marking them in some primal way or he has his darling reassure him through their actions

He stalks his darling. Have you seen how aware he is of his brothers’ activities in-game? It’s almost unnerving in some situations - and that’s just canon material. Satan watches his darling out of curiosity at first before it grows into an obsession for him. After a while he knows every little detail, every mannerism, every preference. All those outings he asked his darling to join him on before he actually clarifies he wants to date them? They’re all used as opportunities for Satan to review later

Advice to any darling of his: Do NOT compare him to Lucifer if you know what’s good for you. Just. Don’t. He won’t kill you, but you will wish he did by the time he’s through with you

I read your essay, but I was more concerned by how Diavolo and Simeon acted in the event than whether the devs were wrong for making it. Simeon obviously for his sneaky behavior and Diavolo for basically saying he wishes his alleged best friend had fallen under the same non consensual mind control spell as his brothers because it would be fun to see a new side of him, even though Lucifer clearly hates to lose control of himself. I know he would not enjoy that as much as Diavolo would, and I can't help but wonder if he actually cares about Lucifer. In events Diavolo is often messing around with the brothers, kinda using them for his own amusement, but this event really brought that into focus. It might not be as big of a deal as it feels to me because I'm kinda sensitive about stuff like mind manipulation for some reason, I can't help but be mad at him for basically not caring at all, which is disappointing since they just released all that stuff for the side characters... What are your thoughts on this?

I want to preface this by saying technically I am have not started lessons 21-40. I am aware of the events that happened in them, but have not played through them for myself, so I can’t necessarily comment on a lot of Diavolo’s character development in the recent lessons.

I think it’s fine to be uncomfortable with how the characters acted. Writing should evoke emotion, both good and bad. My post ended up going more into people being mad at the creators because I’ve been seeing that build up for months now, and just thought that now was a particularly trivial reason (and I didn’t want people to start attacking the devs for something that I think was just being misunderstood). Like you though, I did not like Diavolo and Simeon’s actions in this event either.

When I first read what the bangles did, my thought was that the characters were actually going to the Celestial Realm for a party, and that the bangles would just keep them from acting out while there and corrupting other angels or causing a scene. Simeon’s characters I think has just been always a bit more complicated than the pure angel that much of the fandom reduces him too (when I saw a screenshot of him saying “Did he just discover a new kink?” from a previous event, I was shocked.) We know about the Celestial Realm from the brothers’ talking about Lilith that the angels were aware of the human realm and it’s culture (although some of it is anachronistic in terms of them knowing about manga back when the War happened thousands of years ago), and so it seems that the story’s version of angels are not the way we normally see angels portrayed in media (100% good, never faltering), but instead are just like humans that are usually very good and selfless but capable of doing bad things. I think this brings up a good point with Simeon’s character about how hypocritical he acted during this event, forcing the characters to act good when he himself has committed what in, at least Christian interpretations, could be viewed as wrong (not necessarily a sin) but more of a bystander issue. During the main story even, he often is just standing back while the rest of the characters are having trouble, he’ll often just find amusement in what’s going on rather than step in to help. I think this brings to mind that theme again of questioning what is good and evil in the lens of this type of story. Lastly, I forget where I read it, but in the past I did extensive research on angels for my own writing, and I remember a detail in one interpretation of them that “angels often got into disagreements with one another” and that God had to step in to help resolve them. I think this is an interesting thing to point out that angels themselves are not 100% pure or perfect, and are just of capable of committing sins like the demons, (as that is what leads to them becoming demons to begin with). In the frame of this story, I think the way Simeon acted in this event and how he normally takes amusement in seeing the brothers’ struggle may be indicative of future story lines that may highlight through our perspective with the demons, that the Celesital Realm is not good and that we may actually see a character fall. I know the popular fan interpretation is Simeon, but I actually see Luke as the one who could stay behind in Devildom.

Now, in terms of Diavolo- I think he has always been a manipulator too. Although he enjoys spending time with Lucifer, we know from the story in Lessons 1-20 that in exchange for Lilith being saved, Lucifer had to swear himself to him. Diavolo and Lucifer cannot ever have a true friendship because of this, and although we are viewing the story through a lens that makes us more partial and sympathetic towards the demons, that doesn’t meant that all the demons are in that view. Diavolo from the start seems/acts like a nicer ruler than the one the Celestial Realm has purely because he gave the brothers refuge when they fell. He lets them be their true selves rather than hold them to strict, righteous standards (standards that this event showed are not even what the angels themselves are held to, thus making Simeon’s actions hypocritical). However, as much as he may seem to be friends with Lucifer, we have to remember that Lucifer and his agreement was not one of friendship, and their perceived friendship is much more one that has just been forged by happenstance of them being around each other for so long. I’ve incorporated this discussion on Lucifer and Diavolo’s relationship into a few of my fanfictions for this series, and I truly think that Diavolo wanting to see Lucifer act under a mind controlled spell is completely within his character. After all, he already has control over Lucifer in some ways, he already has power over him. Why would forcing Lucifer to act a certain way be any different of him?

I can understand why this still makes people uncomfortable. I think at a certain point in stories and through fandom culture, when we consume stories in small pieces and then discuss them at large, it allows for many more views and interpretations. (Like a big book club!) However, I think a problem can occur if the largely vocal aspects of that discussion circle are overtly negative or angered about something within the media, as it normally does not fuel a positive discussion about the work (as in, constructive discussion, not positive as in considering the work perfect with no flaws) but instead can quickly spiral into a hate circle. Works can cause you to experience emotion and feel conflicted about things, which is a good thing. However, when you then discuss those things with others, I wish I saw more people not being so strong with their language in discussions of “I hate all these things” without talking about why or examining it. I probably sound very pretentious with all this, but like I said in my previous post, I think this is just one example of a greater problem in all fandom culture. I guess a more clearer example of this would be that the fact that the “book club” has people from so many different ages and backgrounds, but no one to moderate like in socratic seminar or no one who knows the ultimate, true answer (even though there never is one to writing, but with classics and established books we tend to all agree on main themes, symbols, and points that we find more valuable or more central to discuss) and what can often happen is members of the circle with less maturity or less experience in consuming media become the more vocal groups and refuse to hear other sides, thus spawning more negativity and preventing more discussion.

I promise that last bit wasn’t directed at you at all! I just thought of it was a good way to sum up my whole thoughts at the end. I’m glad you messaged me asking for my thoughts on Diavolo, and just to end off, I think we cannot mistake that there might be a culture difference in Japanese creators making a romance story. Like how Belphegor is categorized as the “yandere” character, some Japanese players may prefer Diavolo fitting some trope that has more negative, darker connotations. (Although it’s only hitting Japan now, the game itself is Japanese. I still don’t know why it was released to the western market first, but usually Japan is the predominant market).
