I wonder if the writing team was different between season 3, 4 and 5. each season has a different feel and it's really off-putting

#season 3 felt awkward entirely and I really disliked it #4 was like returning to the roots but they were trying to add more depth?#and 5 is such an enigma #like okay there's only two episodes and there'll only be two more #but they have odd vibes #the episodes aren't bad at all. I don't dislike them #but they're not memorable?#things happen in them but it feels like nothing happened at all #it's a whole load of Nothing #it feels so oddly slow and empty and I have no idea how to place that feeling #it's as if all the characters are speaking more slowly too?#the jokes aren't as cringe but none of them really land #the entire episode feels slow yet is over before anything even occurs #like something is MISSING and I can't be the only person to feel that way????#this second episode was better #David got a New Trait™ which I love.... and it will never be explored because the show is overrrr #I wonder who M and J are? a mystery that shall never be solved?#rave ramblees #camp camp #it's like the conflict is miniscule. the solution is brushed over. and nothing wacky happens #I think that's it #it's missing the wild energy and wackiness

HEY guess who's being completely normal about episode 7 :)

anyway it sure ain't me, so I made myself a baby Malleus! I used the single-headed version of Choly Knight's hydra pattern (link will be in replies ↓↓↓) as a base, and just messed with some of the pieces to make him more Mall-y. including sewing all those little claw pieces, then pinning them on and realizing I actually liked him better without them...oh well. to heck with accuracy, I want stubby little dragon legs!

unfortunately, he doesn't photograph very well, especially his forehead scales (they're there! I promise!) (they're made of glitter HTV so they are actually SPARKLY in real life, yet apparently they come out completely invisible in photos, woe). but he is super cuddly and soft so I'm happy with him! just as in canon, he is a product of LOVE. :>

So I need to make it funny.#The callousness at the candy is so interesting to me. I think on some level he understands why #but he's equally disgusted by Xue Yang's actions at this point #WWX in general has *no* tolerance for twisted affections. 'Don't care if you fell in love. Get Better Asshole.'#Kind of a consistent motif in how he reacts to other peoples feelings of affection #maybe his own too? Later in this episode and ep4 we see him very conflicted about his own affections #god maybe he earnestly doesn't really understand affection in any form. This....this makes sense.#not even going to get into the yumeng sibling drama. That's prob the most affection he allows and even then....its a mess.

i cant get over the whole time in the real world rick just sat there watching over morty and when he woke up finally rick sounded SO happy the way he just yelled his name excitedly the second he woke up,,,

#i miss them already….#AND ALSO AT THE END. MORTY WAS KIND OF IN A WAY WHAT STOPPED RICK FROM JUMPING INTO THE HOLE TO SEE DIANE.#you saw him like look sad for a second that he wouldn’t get to see her but then his expression changed to a firm one when he decided he was #-going to put mortys picture on the wall and then his little smile after he did… morty isn’t dianes replacement hes even better than that #THATS HOW I SEE IT THOUGH. one of the biggest appeals of r&m to me is just how they are eachothers absolute favourite and they outweigh-#-everything the others ever known. i think this episode really showed that alot.#despite everything he’s seen and experienced mortys biggest fear is rick not caring about him #and like. that’s funny bc that’s a thing where everybody knows for a fact that’s literally impossible #the biggest contributor for why SO many things in the show have happened is rick loves morty more than anything #also that one part in the whole sequence with them growing up where it showed r&m drinking togehter that made me so happy bc like #it was one of those moments where i was like. I LOVE the fact Miyata is pissed off, the proceeding line about Iwanaga being good at sex, because WHY is he good at sex? Because he's had practice..... So there you are in bed with the guy you have carried in your heart for years, and in comparison to whom you feel lacking (in all ways) and you are loving what he is doing to you and making you feel, but that reminds you - he's experienced....so you're in bed with his previous partners too....

Sorry Iwanaga you really are going to have to step up to bridge the gap. .
