Ooo this Warloc Wally AU makes me anticipate Howdy as the Tavern keeper with the bulletin board with jobs but every time Wally comes in Howdys just on edge cause "this tiny man just *Feels* off..."
All Wally wants is some apple cider
ohhhhh oooooo y'know in the Original Ramble i stated that he stick With the group on their adventures as a traveling salesman but ough. tavern keeper Howdy...
maybe... maybe we can combine the two by the group being Based Out Of a particular town and Howdy owns the local tavern, but sometimes accompanies the group on their adventures both because he needs a "break" and to sell his wares to fresh faces <3 his staff can handle the tavern in his absence
#though i don't think he'd be on edge around wally#everyone likes wally i think thats Important to keep consistent#but yeah ooooogh tavern keeper howdy#him getting occasional bouts of Wanderlust & The Call To Adventure that he needs to work out of his system <3#im picturing him noticing a Really Good Job posted#and just. subtly taking it down and holding onto it until his ~Favorite Customers~ come back#favoritism? yes#but yeah actually them having a home base makes so much sense and makes it Better#they do a quest and come back to their home and their little houses that they barely use#sally does a celebratory play in honor of their Big Success#i feel like... their 'party' kinda has the vibes of the inevitable from the sea beast#yeah they're not the only group that does jobs and quests#but they're the most known#of course unless they had a rough/bad time in which case they come back very quietly and slink off to lick their wounds#but in the case that they're high of a Big Win yall know barn & sally are bursting in with a fanfare#wh fantasy au#lmao imaging wally Doesn't have like. a house#everyone wonders where he goes off to when they're all doing their own thing#uhhhh he goes into a secret part of the woods to let home out in house form & hang. or sleep#portable house!!#poppy: so where do you go when you disappear?#wally: *flashes back to last night's ritual sacrifice*#wally: ....oh... you know.... around#anyway im having a nice time picturing them all vibing at howdy's Very busy tavern <3#im picturing they have a regular table#if someone else is sitting there when they arrive howdy manages to swindle the person out of their chair#& howdy must get so excited when he comes along on jobs...

Big thanks to @halfagone for teaching me the html wizardry, that was kind of a nightmare.
Using his greasy, ectoplasm stained hand, Danny gently moved the hair out of his face and back up to his small ponytail.
He was in the Keep working on the secondary portal, the ominous red furnishings clashing horribly with the passive green glow of the metal ring. The mechanism was nearly finished, the final touch to push the hole in dimensions out past the Infinite Realms.
All Danny needed to do now was run through the code and hook up the power supply. He may be able to fully power the mortal end of the portal, but trying to take on both of them was pushing it. It's really wasn't like the Justice League would ever be able to access this end of it so the precautions he took on the initial machine weren't really necessary with the secondary.
The halfa was just about to start on the final stretch when his phone rang. Mildly annoyed, he picked it up and answered. "Daniel J Fenton, who is this?"
"This is Nightwing, we need you at the watch tower immediately."
Danny bristled, "I'm sorry, am I some kind of on call nurse?"
"No, but we need to talk as soon as possible."
"I will be there in an hour." His hand tightened around the phone until he heard a creak. In Earth time it was six in the goddamn morning. If it had been anyone else, Danny would've had some empathy for the urgency of his tone, but instead it was some government hero asking the impossible so he was willing to be petty.
-
The atmosphere in the watchtower was tense, Dr. Fenton's antagonism had really gotten to Nightwing, leaving the vigilante pacing across the main room fuming and obsessively checking his devices.
When the Zeta lit up, announcing an arrival in its monotone voice. "G-09 Daniel Fenton."
"Was the extra hour worth it?" Dick asked, turning to look over his shoulder at Dr. Fenton, who returned his exasperation with a withering glare as he set down his heavy looking tote bag.
"Absolutely, so what's so important that you need me in outer space at seven AM?"
In a flash of red, the flash had stepped between the two, appearing instantaneously from whatever he'd been.
"Change of plans Dan Man, we are now on a time crunch!" Danny cringed away, looking physically pained.
"Don't call me that."
Nightwing sighed and ran a hand down his face, trying his best to pull himself together.
"Flash is right, we've received correspondence indicating that our window of opportunity may be shorter than we initially thought."
The engineer's eyes narrowed, seeming to mull the new information over. "How exactly were your colleagues able to contact you?"
Dick glanced over to the desk he'd set up, eyeing the note that had appeared there an hour earlier. After a moment's concideration he picked it up and handed it to Dr. Fenton.
The note read simply, "Our time is waning, I will not be able to hold out for much longer.", And though it carried no signature, it was undeniably Raven's handiwork.
Danny read the note, seeming distracted running his fingers along the edge of it. "I'll see what I can do." Setting the message down, he picked up his bag and walked to the area leading to his lab.
Flash and Nightwing watched as he left, sharing a look.
"His eyes were glowing." Victor cut in, causing the both of them to jump.
"Fuck, man! You're like 50% metal, how the hell do you sneak up on us like that?!"
Cyborg shot Wally a look, "I've been here the whole time."
"Liar."
Victor groaned, disappointed in the subject change. "Wally, his eyes were glowing when he read the note."
Dick stood straight, alarmed. "Do you think it's magical?"
He hummed, considering it. "I think it may have something more to do with his parents' research. They were notoriously lax about safety measures in their home."
"Were his eyes bright green? That seems to be the color described in their work." Wally asked, scrolling through something on his phone.
"Yes, maybe he experienced overexposure as a kid?"
"I don't know," Dick replied, "If anything I think it'll have more to do with the major medical event he suffered in highschool." He leaned against the desk with a confused look. "But why would a scientific phenomena react to magic? It was definitely the note that triggered it."
"Well," Wally leaned over him with a smirk, "There's a blurry line between magic and science."
Both Victor and Dick groaned.
"Not this speil again."
"I'm serious, the more and more we learn about it, magic seems to follow the same kinds of rules as science! It's not some mystic impossibility, it's just like the laws of physics!"
"Sure Walls, keep on trying to justify your stubbornness. Magic is magic, and science is science."
-
The note put some things into perspective. The magic Danny had felt seeping from it wasn't dissimilar to the ectosignatures ghosts left around after going all out. A sort of filmy, cosmic timestamp that let anyone with the capacity to sense it know who was responsible.
It wasn't an ectosignature though, it wasn't even related to the Infinite Realms. If he had to guess based on his limited interactions with the extended multiverse, the oily slick feel was the fingerprint of Trigon and his spawn. The evil of Azarath condensed, which was bad fucking news.
Danny had known for a while that one of Trigon's brood had taken up a home in this dimension- the embodiment of Pride, Racheal Roth.
If 'Raven' had been somehow trapped in Azarath it would have to have been by something both motivated and powerful- and most powerful cosmic entities were chronic porch-sitters. So it was probably her dad, bitch-demon-supreme himself, Trigon.
This new job really did just keep getting better.
He sighed, pulling a breaker panel from his tote bag. He'd been manufacturing custom components in his lab at S.T.A.R., working around the fact that commercial distributers were federally regulated to sell parts only within reasonable amplitude. For the portal though, he'd need far more that 15 or 20 amps, the amount of power required to split the seams of reality far exceeds the amount considered safe by any regulating body.
That being said, the breaker panel wasn't actually rated to the amplitude it would need to power the portal. The circuitry he had created would heat up and trip at a far lower power levels than the portal would actually require, but ectoplasm was an excellent coolant. If Danny were there when the machine was fired up to feed fresh ectoplasm into the breaker panel the machine would run smoothly without tripping.
It was one of his fail-safes, in the case that the Justice League managed to shuffle together an adequate power source for his creation without his input, the breakers would trip every time with no explanation. This would make it look like their power source was too strong and hopefully buy him a little time.
Screwing the breaker panel into his creation, Danny considered the new timeline. Now that he'd finished the secondary he'd be able to dedicate that time to pulling weird overtime hours on the primary portal. He'd originally planned to go back to a healthy sleep schedule after finishing it, the idea that people's lives depended on how fast he could finish the portal had dug its bitter claws into his protective instinct.
It was almost funny, how even after retiring as a hero his innate need to take responsibility for the health and well being of others was still leaving him cranky and sleep-deprived.

17 forrrrr sammy x wally?
Oh, I think I have the perfect idea for this~
17. …to distract.
.
Of all the people Sammy had to be stuck in this godforsaken inky hellhole with it just had to be Wally Franks, didn't it?
Contrary to popular belief, Sammy didn't hate Wally, even if he did find the janitor incredibly frustrating at times. While the studio had been running, Wally's presence had been a relatively familiar and comforting one. However, in this new and strange inky world, loud was the last thing you wanted to be. And loud was exactly what Wally was. Sammy had lost count of how many times he'd had to shush the former janitor to keep him from giving away their position to any enemy.
Currently, the two of them were scavenging for supplies in the Heavenly Toys area, which meant Sammy was especially on edge for fear the Ink Demon might suddenly appear. Not to mention they were venturing awfully close to "Alice's" territory, and Sammy knew she would jump at the chance to get her hands on the hearts of two almost perfect looking toons.
"You gotta relax, Sammy!" Wally said as he dug through the piles of plushes, searching for some bacon soup cans. "You're gonna give yourself a heart attack worrying so much!" He paused, frowning slightly. "Can toons even get heart attacks?"
"I would rather not find out," Sammy replied, glancing over his shoulder back at the doorway. "And I worry exactly the right amount for the situation! Our lives are at stake, Wally!"
Wally let out a small sigh. "Alright, yeah, you're right, but you gotta let yourself live a little too! You can't just run on survival forever!"
"I would much rather allow myself to live a little in the safety of the safe house," Sammy grumbled, folding his arms.
"Come ooon!" Wally held up a Boris plush. "Don't you wanna hug one? Just one?"
Sammy paused, scrutinizing the plush. He had been about to say no outright, but it would be nice to hug something something... Did he really want to hug Boris though? But then again, both Bendy and Alice now conjured up bad memories. Boris was the only character who was, for the most part, untainted in his mind. Boris just reminded him of Wally now.
He was wrenched from this thought process, though, by a horrifyingly familiar sound.
The sound of his heartbeat pounding in his ears.
Sammy's head immediately snapped in the direction of the doorway where he could see the familiar ink veins creeping closer. Oh God... There were no Miracle Stations nearby. Nowhere for them to hide. Nowhere except one of the back aisles.
He immediately grabbed Wally by his overalls, hauling him into the back aisle, far back enough that the Ink Demon wouldn't see them if he entered the room.
"Hey, what's the big idea?" Wally demanded. "Don't go manhandling me like that!"
"Wally, I need you to shut up," Sammy hissed as the heartbeat sound grew louder.
"Wha-? Why?"
Couldn't Wally hear that sound?!
"Wally, please, I need you to just be quiet," Sammy begged.
The ink veins were creeping into the room. They were almost out of time.
"Is something comin' or someth-" Wally was cut off as Sammy pressed him against the wall and slammed their lips together, silencing the former janitor.
For a moment, Wally was stunned, too surprised to even move. Then, he leaned into it, wrapping his arms around Sammy.
Sammy didn't pull away until the pounding of the heartbeat in his ears was gone, and he could no longer see the ink veins on the walls.
"I'm...sorry about that," he said, a bit out of breath as he removed himself from Wally.
"Why're you sorry?" Wally asked. "That was great!" His tail was wagging more vigorously than Sammy had ever seen it wag before.
Sammy blinked, then sighed. "Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it at least. I was sure we were going to die there."
"I can think of worse ways to go out," Wally said with a grin.
Sammy rolled his eyes with exasperated fondness. "Let's head back to the house, alright? I think that's enough scavenging for the day."
"Can I get another kiss when we get back?" Wally stumbled a bit following Sammy out of the toy room.
"Only if you ask nicely," Sammy replied. "And if you don't cause any more trouble on the way back."
Wally's grin widened. "I can do that!"
"I would certainly hope so."
At the very least, Sammy now knew he had a guaranteed way to make Wally shut up when they were in danger.
...And he didn't mind doing it either.

Barry and I went out for a date to celebrate our one year anniversary. We sat in a restaurant on the chairs. We rented the room just so it would be the two of us. The waiter brought a wine bottle. Barry held the bottle as the waiter left. He opened it and moved to pour some in my glass
"I'm not drinking"
His face unreadable he placed the bottle on the table. Shouldn't he be surprised? Shocked? Worried? Happy? Anything? I feel my heart beating fast. Does he want a baby? We've only been married a year and I'm already pregnant. I've known Barry my whole life.
"say what?" his voice soft he clears his throat
"Barry, do I need to spell it out for you. Aren't you supposed to be smart" I joke but my tone is obviously irritated
"I'm gonna be a Dad?"
I put my elbow on the table and lean my head on my face "yeah, Barry pretty sure the doctor wasn't lying and the fact I missed my period. You know like we had sex and unknowingly made a baby"
"yeah I know I just can't believe you're pregnant. I'm going to be a Dad!" he smiled and laughed the weight of worry upon me melts into a smile "we're gonna have a baby"
"we're having a baby I know it's a lot to take in right now and tonight is supposed to be about us"
"are you kidding this is the best news I've ever had! We're gonna have a baby!"
"let me know when you're back to earth" I joked
He leaned to me and kissed me, he cupped my cheeks "how far a long are you? When do I get to see the little speedster? Is it too early to know the gender? No fun time tonight I guess" he swiftly said and chuckled, leaning back in his chair, he snapped his fingers "the guest room would make a perfect nursery!"
I smiled softly to my husband "I'm glad you're happy"
"I'm beyond that I'm--" he kissed me "I'm absolutely overwhelmed with excitement! A cute little baby speedster! I can't wait to tell everyone!"
"now old on there speedster I'm not in my second trimester. 2 weeks then we can tell them ok?"
"ok Aww honey I can't wait to see our little baby"
"well I do have good news tomorrow is my first appointment with the doctor"
"I'll be there in a flash, I wonder if the baby will have my speed. Speaking of speed this baby is going to need some enhanced prenatal vitamins that can help with the baby's fast metabolism" he takes a deep breath "sorry I'm talking too much I'm just happy really happy"
I chuckle "it's cute" I held his hand
"now that I know I knocked you up you definitely look it"
"are you calling me fat!" I asked appalled
"of course not! Absolutely not" he swiftly assured me, he raises his eyebrows smirking "you're hot, I'm really really looking forward to this pregnancy"
"oh, really?" I questioned smiling
"hmm mm"
Thinking of being a mother to one baby is something I was trying to comprehend. I was starting to, until the doctor told me there wasn't only one baby growing inside me, there are two. As my second trimester came Barry practically told every person we knew before I even could speak the two word's. Late in the night I laid on my side Barry's stomach leaned up against my back.....
"what?! Is he OK?" I worriedly hear my husband say
I move onto my back I see Barry sitting up and the lamp on his nightstand on. His right hand gripping his hair and left rubbing his neck. I see his intercom in his ear
"Barry? What's wrong, baby?"
"it's, Dinah she said Wally had passed out at the cave" my heart drops "and is in the Med-bay he's conscious but their monitoring his vitals. I need to go"
"w--" before I could finish Barry was already gone
I sigh in defeat of course he runs before I can finish my sentence.
Barry's P. O. V
Wally, had electrodes on his bare chest for the heart monitor and a IV in his arm. He ate his sandwich I made him. I haven't asked him what happened yet. Right now I just want him to take care of himself. Oh right I need to call my wife! I can't imagine how worried she is!
"I'm going to call your aunt Y/N you finish up your sandwich and then get some rest"
"oh please I'm fine Barry nothin' a little food can't fix, right?"
"you are staying right there or so help me I will cuff you to my hand"
"you do realize I could faze through the cuffs"
"you do realize my friend captain cold is at times very negotiable and I'm certain if he knew it meant your safety he'd freeze your feet together"
Wally, rolled his eye's I called my wife on my intercom. She answered I hear her crying, my heart breaking knowing I can't be right there to comfort her without leaving Wally.
"hey, baby Wally's OK I've got eye's on him right now"
-"oh, good you scared me running off. What happened?" she sniffed
"I haven't asked him yet but we'll get to the bottom of this I promise"
Wally, finished his sandwich he put his hands on the edge of the stretcher gripping it. He avoided eye contact with me.
-"Barry, there's something you need to know" her tone seriously worrying me
"what is it?"
-"Rudolph, just called me and asked for bail money. He's been in jail for 4 months. The fine is 900$ but then the asshole had the nerve to ask for more money and refused to tell me why"
My heart drops "oh, honey I'm so sorry"
-"it's not your fault my brother's messed up. I don't know what Wally knows but.... How do you feel about letting Wally stay with us? I know we're still figuring out the twins and all"
-"honestly, yeah I'm all in let me talk to the kid and we'll be home soon"
-"ok, I love you and tell Wally I love him"
"I love you too baby I'll let him know"
She hung up I look at, Wally his eye's staring at the foor. It hurts to see him so upset. He doesn't deserve this, no one deserves to go through what he is.
"your aunt said she loves you" I pause for a moment "Wally do you know where your dad is?"
"don't play stupid with me Barry I heard Y/N on the other end of the phone"
"Wally--" he cut me off
"don't pity me, Barry. I'm more than capable of taking care of myself. I don't need or want you or Y/N to look after me"
I know what he's saying isn't true I know he really loves me and Y/N. Though right now he's hurting and the one person who should be here to take away his pain isn't here.
"you got it wrong kid. We were actually we're the one's who need you. You're aunt is pregnant with twin's. She needs help around the house when I'm not home. I'm still trying to grasp the fact I'm going to be a dad. I was hoping you could help us out and tell me when I've messed up"
Wally, swallows his eye's swell and nodded. He started crying my heart drops to my gut. I hugged him. I always loved Wally as if he was my own son.
Y/N's P. O. V
I hear the door open I quickly walk to the entrance of the house. I see, Barry and Wally. I touch Wally's cheek his eye's watering  I hugged him. My tears start to fall I sniff and kiss his face. I cup his tearful cheeks. My heart breaks.
"oh, Wally sweetheart you can tell me anything it doesn't matter the circumstances or who"
He stutters "I know but it's your brother, I just didn't, I didn't"
I kiss his head and hold him in my arm's "shh it's OK Wally you're safe with us, I promise"
