He does not want to be here.

Fuck, no, Marc does not want to be where he is right now. Does not want to be at this place - doesn't want to exist within this room right now, the building, the city, even. A part of him also doesn't want to be in this country, actually - if he could, he would even leave the planet behind and... fuck off to whatever-land.

Anywhere but here, anywhere but... now.

Granted, people have been rather nice to him so far - nicer than expected. But they're still doing their job, and he's still mentally unstable, apparently. He's served food, they've shown him his new surroundings, his room, explained to him which stuff he's allowed to have and which he is not; Good, yeah, that's good, whatever.

But Marc is still here, and he doesn't want to be here. He wants to go back where he belongs, wants to go back to what feels familiar to him - wants to wear a different uniform than what he is currently asked to wear: A white sweatshirt, white sweatpants, loafers. At least it's comfortable, but... it's different, and it's not what he wants.

Nothing is like what he wants, honestly.

If he only hadn't done that stupid thing he cannot even remember having done in the first place. He's got no memory of it besides... besides waking up in the washroom with his hands and clothes covered in blood, with his own face staring back at him from the mirror above the sink, sweaty and dirty and red and---

---Eyes squeezing shut, with Marc bringing a hand up to his face, fingers pressing against those covered eyeballs. He's seeing stars for a moment there in return because of that pressure he applies, but then those digits pinch the bridge of his nose instead, accompanied by a deep inhale of a breath he's been holding onto for too long.

He doesn't want to be here. Doesn't want to sit in front of a fucking desk made of glass where the supposed Doctor is sitting and staring at him, surrounded by white, clean walls and clean decorations and clean windows and clean, sterile air---

---A noise suddenly pulls him out of wherever the fuck he'd been within his thoughts; Did that man just speak to him? If he did, Marc didn't understand a single thing. He blinks his eyes back open and lowers his hand, then allows dark irises to flick up and meet the gaze of the other - brows knit, a hesitant, displeased expression on Marc's own, tired features.

"...Huh?"

Good god, it’s suffocating in here. The evening of his first film premiere, a murder mystery with him as the dashing detective. Marc’s been guided by his new manager into all these public events, signing to every appearance handed to him. It’s the first night this week he’s gotten to see Oliver, sharing a desperate kiss in the dressing room before being dragged into the party. Guided away from his loved by the manager, glancing back at him before he’s forced into socializing.

“Now listen Marc, you’ve gotta get yourself a broad. They’re gonna start talking about you, there’s already been rumours about you and your lack of service in the war.”

Nodding along, he finds himself drifting over to the bar once his manager stops reeling off the physical qualities of the women near him. God…this felt like a mistake. A deal with the devil.

This is a truly exhausting scene, and she can only applaud her brother for having the will to endure it nearly every evening.

If Celine felt she had more of a choice in the matter, she would have respectfully declined Damien’s offer to his friend’s celebratory party, but his concern regarding how the public perceive her only grows over time. When in comparison to the soft lavender-dressed women who were eager to fit in with society, it seemed as if she was doing everything in her power to avoid being associated with it.

She promised to indulge him this one favor, but she made it clear she didn’t want to hear any more of it following this rousing night.

She wasn’t blind. She knew how much of a sore thumb she seemed when in comparison to him, and although she couldn’t care less what others think of her, she also wouldn’t purposefully do anything to harm her brother’s image. Especially when considering the carnivorous world of politics he’s chosen to enter.

Pushing through the spirited men who she’s fairly sure mutter to each other about her choice of attire, Celine allows the breath she’s been holding to leave her the moment she arrives, asking for a water and taking in her surroundings.

The man next to her looks miserable. At least she wasn’t alone.

Alex begins to grin at the sight of the other man’s profile. he replies with ease and eagerness, not really planning on staying here much longer if he can’t find anyone to take over from his originally planned hook-up [ I might be. ] is his response to the message he receives, then he sends a selfie, allowing the other to see exactly where he sits. [ come and find me if you wanna do it right now, cus i might leave soon. ;) ] it’d be a shame and a disgrace, really. for the both of them. then just to hurry him up some more, he lifts his shirt up and shows off his abs, shamelessly exposing himself in his corner of the library, and sends him a picture of it.

Marc had to grab onto the nearest bookshelf for support when he got sent the photo of this mysterious hunk sitting on a couch with his abs on full display. It took him just a second to take it in, the muscles and curves were obscene in all the best way and he licked his lips sensually just taking it in [ let me give you one hell of a reason to stay ] he sent, quickly looking about to make sure he was alone in his section of the library before quickly lowering the back of his pants and taking a photo of his firm muscular ass, ensuring the rows of bookshelves behind him were visible before sending it. Hoping that'd keep the other man there he quickly moved through the rows, down the stairs and looking around until he happened to spot the couch and his eyes widened seeing the man sitting on it. He casually walked over, seeing the shirt and knowing this was his man. He grinned as he sat on the arm, his hand resting on the back of the couch "So, adorable face and devilish body... you are a rare kind of hunk" he mused with a flirty grin, looking into the man's eyes "You mentioned you were gonna leave, wanna take me with you?"

The more not-his-Jake speaks and explains the situation he is in - talking about seriously pushing things with keeping his gloves around, even - the more Marc realizes that not-his-Jake and not-his-Jake's Marc must be... on complicated terms still, to put it mildly.

It reminds him of how things used to be for Marc before he was aware of his other alter's existence; Back when he'd dealt with blackouts resulting in a lot of dead bodies, blood and carnage, when he'd already known somewhere deep down inside himself but pushed the truth away with all his might, just so he wouldn't need to face it, the fact that Steven wasn't the only one residing inside their body.

It had affected him quite a lot, to know that someone else was in charge - an alter with enough power to take over at any time, leaving both of them in the dark, only handing the body back over once he'd dealt with whatever had been there to begin with. No chance for Marc to reclaim his own physique, to stop that guy from acting out in any shape or form, helpless and weak---

Does not-his-Jake's Marc feel the same way? Probably. As far as he can tell from those spoken words alone, that must be why the other hides, cannot have what his Jake has - a wardrobe filled with button ups and slacks, flat caps, gloves and ties. Has to stick with that one set he owns, make it work.

"Aw, shit." Sounding sympathetic, almost, Marc's demeanor softens somewhat and he sighs, arms folding in front of his chest as he takes in the sight of the other. "---Your Marc doesn't know yet, huh? Of your existence? Yeah, you gotta hide your ass from him, make sure he won't find your gloves and all of that. ...We've been there too, bud."

...It's actually quite fascinating to talk about. Marc's growing curious here, tilts his head, arches a brow.

"Alright, so... where are you guys at right now? Like... your Marc and your Steven, do they know each other well?" One way to ask, certainly.

One of my goals in threadverse is to make it feel like a proper comic book world. I want it to feel interconnected, I want it to feel like there's always something happening in another story. I don't want the world to feel empty.

So yeah, Batman and Moon Knight have beef. Neither of them remember why. It's just a fact. Nightwing and Nightcrawler have been friends for like two decades, long before either of them were heroes, heck, before Dick's parents were even dead. Kurt can drop the "I've been to Bruce Wayne's house" lore and cause chaos with the younger X-Men, the ones who are up to date on pop culture. The Young Avengers and Young Justice have met and teamed up before. Kamala Khan loves the Birds of Prey. Oliver Queen will throw hands with Tony Stark if given half a chance, he hates that guy.

Funds for Haiti and Haitian Americans

A Haitian American woman with long Covid and her daughter with cancer have both been struggling to raise funds that would help them during their illnesses. Both of them live in the Midwest, which is where a lot of the most recent fear mongering has been centered.

COJEHA is a Haitian organization that provides financial support for youth, teaches agricultural skills, helps ensure children attend school, and teaches other soft life skills. They're working on building a farm with fish and vegetable crops where teaching occurs, which will also increase local access to fresh food.

P4H Global is the organization that has been working on building the canal connected to the Massacre River, another agricultural project. They have also been working to support education in Haiti, with both teachers and students.

The Haitian Community Center in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's food bank, community health center, and a local Catholic organization that provides aid are also accepting donations.

Richard Pierrin is a journalist who has had to flee Haiti and is trying to get a visa that will allow him to work, and that doesn't end after 3 months.

Marc Henry and his family have been dealing with food insecurity for months, and are trying to get funds so they can eat, as well as supplies like livestock and fishing equipment so they can sustain themselves even after the fundraiser is done. They're close to their goal.

An elderly couple's home was damaged multiple times over the last few years and they are trying to raise funds to finish construction. They are also very close to their goal.

A fundraiser for children in Jacmel to provide food, water, and clothes.

A fund for several families to secure plane tickets out of the country

OTRAH is an organization that helps trans Haitians and wants to expand their services to combat HIV. They don't have a gofundme, instead donations are discussed over email.

There is also this thread of Haitian gofundmes which updates fairly regularly

Honestly, Marc is making his way into the shower like he's got every right to be there at this very second, no matter whether someone else is already occupying or not - pulls the shower curtain to the side, steps inside, closes the curtain, frowns. Pushes himself into Jake's space, determination written all over his features as he reaches across his partner's chest to grab the bottle of shower gel...

It's been a day. A day and a half, no, two days stuffed into one, really. He's annoyed, he's tired, and he's in need of this fucking shower, thank you very much (and his partner's closeness, but he won't admit that much just yet). That's also why there's a perpetual pout lingering on his lips, accompanied by knitted brows, as he tries to squirt some of that gel onto his palm; Of fucking course that bottle is almost empty at this moment in time and only makes those stupid farting-noises when he squeezes it, right when he's already in a bad mood to begin with! Marc grunts, shakes the bottle with way too much enthusiasm and pent-up anger---

---And it slips out of his grasp, shoots through the shower cabin, bounces off the opposite wall to fly straight back - just to then collide with Marc's forehead before falling to the wet tiles between their feet. The impact of that stupid bottle is so forceful that it has Marc stumble back a step, followed by a surprised and certainly pained moan, a hand that flies up to press itself against the skin as he squeezes his eyes shut, grabbing blindly for something to hold onto...

Which happens to be Jake's shoulder, fingers digging into the skin, leaving scratches behind.

Do you know comics where moon knight team up with strange? Or deadpool?

Or where he interact with magic marvel characters?

Oh, for sure! Moon Knight has teamed up with Doctor Strange a couple times, as well as with Doctor Voodoo and Clea. There's also the Damnation event which involved a whole slew of magic users and magic-adjacent characters, including Doctor Strange, Doctor Voodoo, and Wong. The event itself, however, is,,,,unfortunately (fair warning, the following is largely just my opinion) not the greatest in its portrayal of MK. It tends to use Mr. Knight as the comedic relief and the "comedy" boils down to "ohohoheehee I'm so unstable and can someone please recommend me a psychiatrist," which can be...abrasive if you're feeling charitable and I've seen others who were feeling decidedly less charitable describe it as a little offensive. Which is a shame, because at least in my eyes, the event has a great line up and could have been even better. I'll throw in the citations though for anyone who wants to check it out and form their own opinions.

MK's relationship with Deadpool is uuuuh unfortunately a bit more rocky. Moon Knight's goals rarely line up with Deadpool's in the 616 Universe, so MK doesn't "team up" with Wade so much as, as I said in this post (and I quote myself not to self-aggrandize, but because, well, I'm not particularly creative in my metaphors), use Wade like one of "those stress-relief squeeze toys." Moon Knight was greatly intrigued when he discovered Wade can't die and consequently uses that to his advantage. Outside of the 616 continuity, Mr. Knight is much more sympathetic to Wade in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again, but gosh, I never feel great recommending that series without some degree of forewarning. While I genuinely enjoyed some moments, as you can probably guess from the title,,,,it has such a terribly sad ending that still kind of haunts me tbh. But I'll include that just in case you're curious! All of the associated citations are beneath the cut as this was starting to get a bit long (whoops mea culpa)
