Ward rubbed at his face, spending the early day with Olivia and Zarina had been more emotionally loaded than even he was ready for. Add in the keys that he was clutching in his bad hand and he was having a time. He was grateful Oliver had Ava currently and was doing some type of activity with her. Giving a small nod to Marisol de la Luna when he walked by her and Sam's booth, his grip tightening on the keys. He missed photography but she'd get more use out of the camera than he would these days, any interest he'd once had in the hobby buried under his new apathy.

Taking a seat on a bench he'd closed his eyes for barely a second before almost jumping out of his skin when he found himself with a lap full of Kirby. "Hi to you too," he said not being able to help the amused smirk that tugged at his lips, "You know there was a perfectly good spot on this bench next to me."

Despite the cold Knightley had agreed to go out into the woods with Kirby, currently leaning back against the trunk of a tree while sitting on a branch. If he was honest he needed the distraction after what had happened at work earlier. That and he was still worried over Kirby, "So how's Edgar been doing? The cold isn't making his back worse is it?"

It's not like he's never fought with Kirby before, but there's a look in their eyes that has Mo wondering if he should have a will ready to go. Adjusting the gloves on his hands, he glanced over at Knightley, "Hey you're on standby as medic right?" Receiving a thumbs up in response from the man who was reading on a patio chair. "You could at least watch you know?" Mo snapped, this time Knightley flashing him a thumbs down as he kept his gaze on his book.

Turning back to Kirby, "Ready?" they asked bringing their fists up and beginning to move side to side.

"It's understable, you'll likely have that reaction for some time. Though I'd say thankfully you don't shop often at her store," Knightley mused out loud. When they moved to lean against him, he lifted his arm to wrap around them and rub their arm. He was use to cuddling with Kirby, knew that sometimes they needed the reminder he was welcome to it. "That is cheesy for you," he agreed, a small smile tugging at his lips, "And you're welcome. You're the first real friend I've had, I'm not fond of the idea of you ever feeling like you're meant to handle something alone."

kirby sat up when they saw knightley and scooted over to make room as they took the smoothie from him. they were just glad it wasn't tea they were gonna have to drink. "thank fuck," they mumbled not realizing how much they needed to hear that especially as of late. "glad she's doing better at least, still feels weird to see any of them after all of that." kirby took a sip of their smoothie now and sighed a little, pulling their legs up onto the couch to sit criss cross as they leaned a little against knightleys shoulder. "thanks, for like literally everything lately. you're probably the literal best friend i could've asked for which is so cheesy for me to say."

kirby wasn't working that day but they often hung out at the shop anyway since their place was right next door, it was an easy way to check up on things or just play receptionist so the artists could focus on their clients instead of walk ins. which ironically is exactly what happened, as someone walked in they still had their feet kicked up on the reception desk. "what's up, you here to get a tattoo or rob me? if it's the second option that's a bummer and would really kill the vibe so can it be the first option please and thank you."

the news breaks, as does half of red creek alongside it. there's an unfair lump lodged in santiago's throat. he wasn't close to kirby ; her death was not his to mourn, and yet ... he sits in the back pew of redemption chapel, hands wound in his hair. it was between here & the cemetery— the weather chose for him. he breathes in, has a hard time breathing out. halloween night plays through his mind. ❝ i asked about her name. ❞ he wants to laugh at the memory, but doesn't have the heart. a puff of frustration leaves him instead, ❝ grow up in a box like red creek & i still had to ask for her name. jesus– ❞

"In front of me maybe, didn't exactly seem like the first time, gave me a reason to make more splint kits," he deadpanned though there was a small grin on his face. At the mention of the bracelets he glanced at them and back at Kirby, he almost made a quip before seeing the genuine look on their face. "Sure, we can get them," he said handing some ration cards to the stall owner before taking one from them and putting it on, "Well you're officially out of the patient list, congrats you're stuck with me as a friend now."

"i fell out of a tree one time." that knightley was present for, there might have been other moments but they weren't going to admit that to him. they looked around the booth trying to see what the hurry was but shrugged, grabbing a few bracelets that looked identical and held them up. "you want to get these? one for me and one for you." they didn't want to say out loud that they wanted to get matching bracelets and just hoped knightley would catch on.

Teddy felt he needed to let Kirby know what was going on with the Raz Situation. What Jessie had told him. While they ate dinner he cleared his throat "hey, so uh....you know Edgar told me about Raziel that they're the ones who broke your fingers." He started off with that shaking his head "I Haven't told anyone but uh....I think there is something else you should know about Raz"

He was covering a break for one of his cashiers, so he was at the register and since it wasn't his usual thing he was struggling a little. Epically when someone good looking came into the store. "Did y-you find everything okay?" He asked a bit shyly, knowning Lenny would grill him for this if he knew "Don't think I've seen you in here before! What brought you in?"

While Kirby often went over to Willow's to make sure she could still have as much time with Fitz as her heart desired, sometimes he wanted to have her all to himself - and that required his own apartment (for now).

"Have we been dating long enough to talk about potentially moving in together yet?" He was absently sliding her hair between his fingers as they lie in bed, a way to keep him from sliding them all over her body. "Have I committed some cardinal relationship sin by asking?"

Ward's brow had furrowed when Penny had swung by with a smirk on her face, it was getting late and she'd shown up with Zach and Kirby so he expected her to go home with them like usual. At least until she'd told him that Kirby was likely to need a hand before she was off with a wink. Heading out he spotted Kirby easily enough then a passed out Zach in one of the seats. He held back a groan, "Did he smoke too much or what? I know my hand is healed and all but I didn't sign up for lugging him home."

Knightley had a small bucket and shovel, bending down near a tree he was digging through searching for worms. Hearing a thud next to him, he cocked his head looking over at Kirby curiously. "You know I appreciated you wanting to help me feed Nurse, but I'm starting to think this might be a health hazard for you."

"You know if we ever manage to get out or proper internet my morbid curiosity might actually let you play me the video instead of reciting it from memory," he said shaking his head, the grin on his face not fading. He raised a brow as Kirby rambled on, "Well first off if it's a movie, then they can use any logic they'd like for why they can find you. From magic to echo location," pausing to muse it over before shrugging, "Second if you could get a skeleton in reality to move without any outside assistance it wouldn't take much to just break it apart so I think you'd be safe either way." He wasn't sure at what point he became so willing to humor Kirby's hypotheticals, but at the very least he'd gone from mildly amused to genuinely considering his answers. Crossing his arms over his chest he cocked his head to the side, "The cookies that good? I don't think I ever had any, not much of a sweets guy to begin with."

"god no, they're just animated skeletons that dance to a catchy beat. you haven't actually seen shrek is love and you won't ever, you've just seen shrek which by the way there's still two more movies to get through." kirby grinned at him, it was basically their way of saying they're gonna make him watch the others eventually. "yeah i guess it does, put on a little hat and maybe an eyepatch and it could work... actually would a skeleton need an eyepatch? hold on wait how do skeletons in movies always know where you're at they don't got eyes they can't see and they don't have ears. the math isn't mathing." now they're rambling which they stopped themselves to laugh at the idea of them being in something like a scouts organization. "it's cause i'd get kicked out immediately, cookie season comes along and i'm taking the boxes for myself and not makin' a dime."

"kirby! youur favorite sister has arrived, and she's desperate for your attention. if you aren't home this is gonna suck for me, but there's a car in the driveway and i didn't have to jailbreak your house, so i have hopes." cole's voice rang through the house as she let herself into her brother's residence. she had no regard for whether he wanted her there or not, but she also had a nasty habit of showing up unexpectedly. cole assumed that all of her brothers were used to this by now. padding through the house, she paused when she came to the kitchen, grinning at the sight of her brother. "there you are!"
