There was a little village, hidden in one of the forest in the western part of the country. Not many knew about it, only few believed it truly existed. And even less stepped foot in it. Built by five women as a Sanctuary,nott one of them believed how much it would grow into. Hidden from mankind it stayed nameless for years . Only  when the first wounded men were treated there they joked how it felt like a Little Valhalla or Lille Valhall as they soon called the village. As the population of the village was merely female. Only young and beautiful women lived there. The only males living  in this village were children or young men who called them mother, when they did not even seem much older. And so they went and told the stories about this village. Many tried to find this village, but the residents  were guarded by the gods themselves. So only those in need and worthy with good intentions will be led the way. And soon Lille Valhall became a legend.

On either side of him stood the two servants I’d met at his lodge, the Viking butler and the stout Thyra, both seeming unbothered by the enormous packs they carried on their backs.

And the pandemonium part? That came from a half dozen of Odin’s Valkyries tossing furniture around the sitting room, the dozen midwitches and Crones attempting to stop them, Keven storming down the hall from the kitchen, Bedivere’s wolf snarling as it blocked the foot of the stairs beside me, and Freya shrieking at her husband. I stared at the animated tableau before me in a kind of numb shock. Only a few hours before, I’d thought myself alone in the world, and I’d wanted nothing more than to have my friends back. My fellow Crones, Keven, the midwitches and my house. Even Bedivere. But now…

Now I was reminded that one should be careful what one wished for. Or at least be more specific about it.

Valkyrie Pt. 1 • Ivar X Reader

A girl shows up bloody and beaten to Kattegat. The Queen and her sons take an interest in the girl, especially Ivar.

Warnings: Gore, Swearing, Mentions of sex, Ivar being angsty, Y/n being a badass

Earl Valkhal was a man known by many, even the famous Ragnar himself had heard of the man once before. Those who remembered him, knew him to be loyal, quick-witted and trusting, however those qualities would never make a mark in history like the smarts and ruthlessness of King Ragnar.

Valkhal was betrayed, his own father took his life, jealously invaded his mind. His wife, tried but failed defending his already dead corpse, suffering the same hatchet to the chest and collapsing to the floor with a shrill scream. Valkhal's most trusted friend Gunnar heard the commotion, eyes widening from the scene he ran in on. With gritted teeth and rapid building fury, Gunnar beheaded the elder with a swift flex of his strong arms while wielding his trusted battle axe. With the bloodshed came a thud, the head rolling and coming to a halt as it made contact with a small leg. A sharp inhale of air could be heard, as the young girl pressed her hands firmer against the boy's eyes she was currently shielding. Relief could be seen briefly in the girl's eyes as she looked up at Gunnar, though moments later her shoulders began shaking as quite sobs spilled from her mouth. The boy, hardly a toddler squirmed in her arms, whining and sniffling.

"My parents..." The girl whispered shakily while Gunnar yelled a throaty plead, making the two children flinch. "Thyra! Quickly... Y/n, take your brother and go to our farm." The girl's hesitation was long as her eyes crept back towards her parents. "Now!" He damanded making the girl stumble to her feet pulling her little brother along with her.

"Frode, the Gods will be sure to make me stronger- So I can protect you, I vow it, I promise... even to Odin himself!" Hiccupped the girl as she strained herself carrying her brother that was gazing at her with doe eyes.

The girl frantically began to bang onto the door of Gunnar's home after nearly collapsing from exhaustion. A lady Y/n had know from birth stood at the entrance once throwing the door open. She, in her early adulthood, seemed to be in the middle of questioning who been knocking at the door till she saw the sheer dread in the little girl's eyes. "Gunnar told me to come here-" she huffed and puffed struggling to finish, "he's been calling for you Thyra- I- my parents were attacked!" Thyra, nodded a silent understanding her eyes wide, which Y/n at the time misinterpreted as concern. Y/n observed as Thyra inhaled deeply and gathered her long skirt before running off.

Y/n shush her brother as much as she could while caressing his face affectionately. "Y/n? Why are you here?" Questioned a tired Troels, the son of Torsten and Thyra, who was just over a year older than Y/n.

Y/n acknowledged his questioning but quickly shuffled into the humble home, placing her brother onto a stray chair and pulling the front door closed. The girl then rested herself against the door, eyes closed, all while Troels simply stood there rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

She slowly slide downwards onto the floor lowering her head into her arms in an attempt to hide her tears from Troels. Troels blinked confused then proceeded to crouch to Y/n's level. "Don't be a crybaby Y/n. What? Did you scrape your leg?" He teased, though the comments didn't bother Y/n, she'd always known Troels to be a snotty child. Y/n didn't want to admit it, but he'd definitely got some of his mother's selfish traits. Troels placed a firm hand into the girl's shoulder, shoving her. "Come on get up, you're making yourself look weak. You're such a girl." He said the last bit nervously and held his breath waiting for her reaction.

"Frode." Y/n huffed, crawling up to where he was seated. Troels groaned and rolled his eyes; for once again being ignore by the girl. "I love you, so very much Frode." She softly exclaim into his ear while wrapping herself entirely around him.

"The child is too young to be Earl- Then what do you believe we should do Gunnar?" Questioned one of many that sat within the hall. A slim hand snaked around Gunnar's shoulder catching him off guard, delaying his answer. "Well I think it's only right that Gunnar should be Earl, he was Valkhal's right-hand man after all." Spoke Thyra smoothly still holding onto her husband. Gunnar shook his head placing his hand on top of hers, "No, we need more time to think about this." Though as Gunnar said this, almost, if not everyone nodded in agreement at Thyra's statement. The man from before spoke up once more, "Gunnar, your woman is right, you are our new Earl."

Gunnar was visibly shocked as each member of the room stood, in respect for their new Earl, as some of his friends cheered him on, Thyra wasted no time claiming her new throne with an inconspicuous smirk on her face. Gunnar stood, trying to sort out how he felt. Was it even okay for him to celebrate something so bitter sweet? His best friend was just murdered by his own father, though his thoughts were short lived. There sat Thyra, on her throne, mug raise with what you could only assumed to be alcohol, she grinned overly happy. "Well what are you waiting for? Skol!"

Also I'm trying to make this as realistic as possible to what you would see in the Viking series, because I hate those angsty generic stories myself. SIDE NOTE, I KNOW THE MAIN CHARACTER'S PARENTS DYING IS SUCH A GENERIC PLOT- BUT I HAVE REASONS TO IT. I DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE Y/N A RANDOM CHARACTERS JUST PLACED IN THE UNIVERSE. In Zelda there is a theory called the tetraforce theory.

The triforce is made up of three yellow triangles. The three triangles represent wisdom, power, and courage. Explore means players send scouts across a map to reveal surrounding territories.

Exploit means players gather and use resources in areas they control, and improve the efficiency of that usage.

Expand means players claim new territory by creating new settlements, or sometimes by extending the influence of existing settlements.

Exterminate means attacking and eliminating rival players. Since in some games all territory is eventually claimed, eliminating a rival's presence may be the only way to achieve further expansion.

Slowly, but steady her hands grabbed  the dragger laying in the grass.  One swift  stroke across palm, moments later blood was dripping from her hand onto the empty page. Til this moment Thyra knew what to do or expect. Everything that came next was new.  Her blood revealed what was written before. The stories about the first valkyries among the mortals and everyone after that until  it got to the last page. Revealing an empty page. A page where  her blood did not reveal anything but wrote something new. Written in blood  was  her name – Thyra the dream dancer.  And from that moment on that was what she was called among her kind and the gods.

Once the blood called to her, she was obligated to go. For a Valkyrie’s work was never done, as long as there were battles to be fought and warriors spirits to collect. Which is how Hildr had found herself above Tettenhall, her great wings beating in the morning sun as she hovered over the battlefield.

Taking place during S4, Ep. 4 (Spoilers for all seasons included in the work).

I thought it would be fun to get a Valkyrie's perspective on the Battle of Tettenhall and the TLK characters.

#Gauntlet Developed and published by #Tengen Released in 1988. Gauntlet is an original story based on the arcade port of the same name. The Four Warriors of the land of Rendar; #Thor the Warrior, #Thyra the Valkyrie, #Merlin the Wizard and #Questor the Elf, must band together and defeat Morak as he has stolen the Scared Orb and plans to use it to unleash evil upon the land. The game is an overhead view style, dungeon crawler. It’s one or two players and you can choose any of the warriors from the start. The graphics, sound effects and story are ok, the gameplay suffers from the constant life draining quarter eating that the arcade had. You must find keys in order to unlock doors to progress through the game, you will fight several hoards of relentless creatures, ghosts and monsters as well. I remember playing this as a kid and I hated it, I thought the arcade version was better. As and adult with patience its playable but tedious. The game is a lot more fun with a second player though. There are at least one hundred levels in the game and the difficulty sharpens each level. As a one player game it’s extremely repetitive but with a second player arguments are sure to happen especially if you destroy the much needed and not enough of food in the game.
