Hey Dem! Its me again :D i hope you dont mind me hopping on here to send a more casual ask.

Just dropping by to say that ive been playing darksiders 1 (I had bought DS2 first cuz death's my favorite. Beated that game in a month) and today I fought Tiamat (And struggled every step of the way). Have you played the darksiders games?

Now before I answer that, I'm just going to quickly build a little box fort and guard it with a dragon plushie... OK, I haven't played the Darksiders games.

I remember when DS first came out. I was a wee little raccoon and I'd watch my brother play it. He didn't even finish the game. Rude.😤And I just never got around to playing the game myself. But I now have the games in my steam wishlist and have plans to buy them and the book hehe towards the end of---

They were on special.

darksiders 1 is quite fun so far and at least from what i've seen up through the first dungeon it has some of the most logical/intuitive puzzles of the series--i haven't gotten stuck or needed to look anything up yet, which is definitely not something i can say about my time with 2 or 3. it was also pretty surprising coming from later entries and meeting vulgrim for the first time and going "oh he's actually decently sinister/scary?" instead of the sort of buffoonish role he plays later on. his more whisper-y voice delivery and the murkier art style definitely help with that. as for war, i'm liking him as a character. he's very much the juggernaut of the horsemen without being the "dumb muscle"--very Honor Before Reason, but not because he doesn't have any reason to work with. naturally being voiced by liam o'brien is also an extra point in any character's favor.

the game definitely has moments where it shows its age, and there is a good amount of jank in the controls (the crossblade phase of the tiamat boss fight. god help me), but it's still a fun experience and i can see why 3's gameplay changes in particular were so divisive now, even if i still love and will aggressively promote 3 any day of the week.

I've been replaying the first Darksiders game for the first time in a long time, and I'd genuinely forgotten how snarky War could be. When Tiamat offers him profit in exchange for his loyalty and he says, "You won't like my terms" while majestically swinging Chaoseater? Poetry.

howdy! i hope you dont mind if I share some of my thoughts on the 1st Darksiders game. lemme know if i ever get obnoxious and i'll stop yes. not super far into it yet, only just beat Tiamat (cool design, laughed out loud at her random tits then got killed a lot lol) but i'm having fun. love the aesthetic, especially in the drawn art. very hooked into the mystery of wtf is going on?? feel like War definitely mustve been tricked somehow. idk i smell shenanigans lol.

Hell nah send feel free to send stuff my way in the box or where ever, I love watching/listening to people play games I love. It's like re-experiencing the game all over again via osmosis. I've bullied almost everyone I know into playing Bloodborne for that same reason lol.

Yeah one of the things that Darksiders is known for is it's art design, all the characters and plenty of the world were designed by an incredible american comicbook artist Joe Madureira, so the way the game looks really stands out from other edgy stuff that was coming out at the time.

War's the pretty boy out of them all for sure (still don't know what Strife's face looks like so jury still out) and he deserves to have a day off riding his horse in a flower field XD
