Kirah stood in front of the hunt board outside of the Forgotten Knight, leafing through the mark bills she'd just picked up. The clan had suggested this as a way for her to earn experience as a hunter and tracker and granted her access to the first series of marks as a test of some sort. They all seemed simple enough, as she remembered seeing packs of some of the marks while assisting House Fortemps. And this would be a good way for her to try out using thaumaturgy in an actual combat situation. A relatively low stakes one, mind you, compared to some of the other things she had been handling.

Firming up her conviction to undertake the hunt and locate her quarry, Kirah picked up the staff she'd been gifted and headed off towards the chocobo stables to finally head out. Most of the marks in the bill were either in Western Coerthas or the Sea of Clouds. As she made her way through the city, she idly wondered why the clan had decided on these particular marks to be hunted. Surely there had to be some sort of logic to the hunt bills assigned to each member of the clan. Not that it was any of her business, but she remained curious.

At the store I was covering today a dad walked in with his kid. They were on the teen side of childhood but age was indeterminate to me. He said, “So they need a new bed.” Later he added, “Their current bed is pretty squishy.”

I glanced at the child and said, “Would I be correct in intuiting your pronouns are they/them?”

Both dad and child lit up and he thanked me for noticing.

“It’s no big deal. My wife uses they/them. It confuses people because they hear wife and assume she/her but they’re a they/them. It just sounds so much better than spouse or partner to say my wife.”

The kid was ecstatic and exclaimed, “Yeah cause that’s your wife!”

It was fully heart meltingly adorable.

the dynamic of demigods thinking which other demigod is the most powerful is always amusing to me because. like, we know the big 3 kids are all the most powerful. That's just a fact of their universe. And then we know nearly every character views Percy as the strongest demigod, and most people are very rightfully intimidated by him.

and you look at the powers of the Big 3 kids and there's Percy, but then you realize Nico is just kind of objectively more powerful than him but simply chooses to hang out in Percy's shadow like he's Percy's scary dog privileges. Like, the two of them are pretty equally capable of causing multiple different apocalypses. Nico just also has like four different instakill powers and it's not like he doesn't use them. He very much uses them! Not infrequently, even! And they don't seem to take a significant amount of energy from him! And other demigods are pretty intimidated by both of them! But Nico makes a conscious point to keep his cards close to his chest and not let on exactly how dangerous and scary he can be if he wants to. People are already scared enough of him without knowing anything about him and he doesn't like that. Percy doesn't think about that nearly as much, and so usually just goes in guns blazing and that's part of why he's considered a wildcard. And then Nico himself puts Percy on a pedestal, so those who do know more about Nico's abilities then presume Nico knows something they don't about Percy that implies Percy is even stronger than him.

And even on a meta level Nico's narrative role requires him to be functionally more powerful than Percy, because he very often serves the purpose of getting Percy out of situations he can't handle on his own. That's just part of his function as a character! But also narratively he can't overshadow Percy so he just takes a backseat of his own accord and that's very amusing to me.

There is a specific version of Relativity Falls that lives in my head, lol.

Instead of the Stan 'o War their joint dream is to become a director and a movie star respectively, and instead of a big blowout fight in senior year, Dipper and Mabel are separated because of their parents divorcing and then each taking a twin Parent Trap-style. (Because honestly if Mabel got kicked out like Stan you can't tell me Dipper wouldn't be running out of the house to join her then and there no matter what the catalyst was; he's protective of her in a way the Ford wasn't with Stan, not to mention the difference between a girl being stuck on the streets compared to a boy…)

Mabel eventually runs away from home to both achieve her starlet dream (goes… not so well, leading a checkered life that isn't as harrowing as Stan's but is still wild as hell) and to meet back up with Dipper. Unfortunately the info her mother gave her on Dipper's whereabouts/contact info is either out of date or just flat-out wrong. So they remain out of contact for a while until Dipper sees her on the tv and he haggles her into coming to live with him in Gravity Falls. Mystery twins shenanigans ensue!

One big thing about my concept for a Relativity Falls au is I think it would be really fun to reverse the forefont weirdness. There's a lot of magic in Gravity Falls but Ford is more of a sci-fi hero/mad scientist with a smidge of wizard. So in turn I think Dipper should be a wizard/alchemist with a smidge of mad scientist. Stan and Mabel similarly go from cryptid-focused con-man to witchy con-woman.

Taking it further, I think it'd be fun to either make the portal a magical one instead, or to straight-up not have Bill be the big bad because let's be honest here, the grown-up version of Dipper "world's most suspicious 12 year old" Pines would have one conversation with Bill and go "GOD you suck. Absolutely no deal, you Mr. Monopoly wannabe." and instead Dipper accidentally gets thrown out of his dimension by messing with… idk, this version of Gravity Falls' fae population or something. And that's how Mabel keeps the house--his real first name got stolen in the process so all they can tell is that it's a deed in the name of someone with an M. So, Mabel, they guess.

And then Mabel spends 30 years not only figuring out how to bring him back but waiting for like, the right astrological alignments to even bring him back.

For my recent comic coloring and lettering class I adapted a (slightly abridged) scene from tmagp 21. It's not perfect and the font certainly needs work but I figured I should stop procrastinating posting it. So.

soooo convinced that will is deliberately masterminding a good portion of this media circus lmaooo (although masterminding may be too generous a word.) unprompted, he's like "yeah mack and i watch romcoms" wink wink nudge nudge [will voice, smugly] i'm not going to elaborate right now because i know sheng peng is going to ask me about it later anyways :) also, mack and i made this tiktok together on an off day where we played three hours of basketball. i'm not going to say whose idea it was. but you all know it was mine. also did i mention it was after three hours of basketball????

each time you would think he might resent playing second fiddle to mack he's all "mack and i are real movie guys" "playing with mack is really fun" "mack and i are together all the time". like sike. u thought. i've seen jokes about mack's ten year plan but u know what... i think will has one too and it's like. actually more cerebral. guy who looked at getting drafted to a tanking team like sure, why not? then i'm just going to get the chance to play with high draft picks, and what's not exciting about that?
