gosh i've got a haircut tomorrow and the road i normally take may or may not be closed (i am under instructions to 'walk to the end of the driveway and have a look and then there might be someone to ask'. guy who barely leaves the house problems) BUT the problem is i don't know how any of these roads link up because i don't really go places (GUY WHO BARELY LEAVES THE HOUSE PROBLEMS) and also i'm bad at maps. me vs google maps fight to the death match coming to my house right now

#yeah apparently hating having one in is far from uncommon #luckily ive only had to do two #one was crook of the elbow and the other was like over the radius at my wrist #for some reason i figured that was just me #every once in a while i get this weird conflict #in that i know what ivs are for and how they work and why they were important #the one in the crook of the elbow was in the ER and used to deliver anti anaphylactic medication #but at the same time as the patient get that thing out of me asap #disability #salt baby talks #chronic illness

felt wanderlust at 9:45 at night and decided to go for a slow, safely-paced joyride through the gravel roads around here and then tried to turn around in one of those rural super steep bumpy turnaround spots and thought for a moment I was going to flip my mom's car over and/or accidentally drive into the river

#I don't think it was that dangerous. but it felt like it from my perspective #people drive much less manouverable vehicles through those things all the time I'm sure. pickup trucks and the like #my mom's sport edition expedition that's as old as I am has a much nicer turning radius. I'm sure I was actually safe #but it's dusk and it was spooky so I w #I got Scared #man I want to go for a long drive though :(

first grad school acceptance came through!!

got accepted to the university I'm at now, which... I can't exactly say is my first choice? I'd be doing the same stuff in the same building with the same people, and I might end up feeling like I never left undergrad

but! an acceptance is an acceptance! and I'd much rather be doing a PhD here than moving back in with my parents and scrambling to find a job. I've been saying this entire process that I will be choosy when I have choices to pick from, and that still holds until another school decides to also accept me

#chattering #I know I got rejected from one school already which leaves five more potential options #honestly the other big college in my current city is possibly becoming one of my top picks #I got to meet my would-be PI and she seems super nice and her research is really cool #but I'd still be within easy collaboration radius of the people I'm working with now #and I like living here! I feel like I haven't explored the city as much as I wanted to and it'll be nice to spend some more time here #but yeah! it's definitely a relief #you only need one place to take you after all
