The Tinker Bell Movie
Join Peter Pan and his inseparable friend Tinker Bell as they go beyond "the second star to the right and straight ahead until the morning" on magical adventures in Neverland.
Re-explore the island, Peter Pan's secret hideout; meet the unruly Lost Boys and defend yourself with sword and cape in battles against the ineffable Captain Hook and his band of pirates.
Relive these fantastic adventures in a 2-Disc Peter Pan Special Edition and be amazed by the Super Magical DVD Edition of Peter Pan: Return to Neverland.*
Discover, in these stories, the power of hope and faith, and remember that... "believing is only the beginning."
The Story of Pixie Hollow
Pixie Hollow wasn't always the small plot of land in the Neverland Forest. Once upon a time, it was a great kingdom encompassing forests, canyons, mountains, and lakes. At that time, it was a place separate from Neverland. To get there, you had to fly through a secret portal hidden behind a waterfall.
At that time, fairies lived in flowers, mushrooms, trees, and other places in the Hollow. There was no Treehouse. Enchanted dust wafted from this wonderful tree, giving the fairies the magic they needed to travel to the children's world and inspire them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Me notes:
*I think this was their version of the return to never land pixie powered dvd that released in 2007
**it says “Mi Piña” in Spanish which is pinecone but it could also be Pineapple. Fawn could just have a giant pineapple.
***translates to Flutterwood basically but I’m pretty sure it’s just Spanish Flutterby woods lol

Note
I sometimes question Pixie Hollow’s geography when it comes to the book continuity… Like where exactly is the Home Tree located on Neverland? Or how much of Neverland do the fairies occupy?
The Pixie Hollow in the movies feels more like a dimension separate from Neverland, that I sometimes forget that Tink and her friends live in Neverland.
I've thought about this too! Pixie Hollow's geography and where exactly it is located in Neverland is a very messy part of the lore throughout most of the continuities. So this is gonna be a long answer
In the books the Pixie Hollow with the home tree, it's supposedly in what I think is "a clearing", like behind some foliage. In the third guide book "The Hidden World of Fairies" which is made up of book and movie canon (a lot of elements from the books and movies together) we see that Pixie Hollow is located behind a leafy clearing somewhere in Neverland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to this map, Pixie Hollow is located towards the right of Neverland next to Skull Rock and Mermaid Lagoon
However, it's still sort of complicated!
In In the Realm of Never Fairies, we have some illustrations of areas that seem to be around Pixie Hollow- that seem to be quite vast and empty, including concept art.
Tumblr media
Here, we have a lovely concept drawing of Tinker Bell near a waterfall- note the waterfall, it will become important later
This is the original illustration of that image:
Tumblr media
Here's an interesting illustration with Havendish Stream, the dust mill, and several mountains:
Tumblr media
We also have a detailed explanation of Prilla's arrival in Quest for the Egg and world building in the trilogy which suggests it is located in the island somewhere near the mountains, but also somewhat close to the Lagoon (after all Soop could flood Fairy Haven/Pixie Hollow) with the cove seeming close- but also still a several days journey for fairies, with it taking at least couple hours to get to both locations. It can be assumed Torth Mountain where Kyto resides is close to the fairies, as well as the Tiffens which are creatures that trade with the fairies unique to the Levine books. A fire almost destroyed Neverland (Kyto I believe) and Mother Dove survived and made the island magical. So I have an idea that it's close to the mountains, but still on a flat terrain. In the forests of Neverland, in like the center leaning a bit to the right. Likely the "heart of Neverland"
In the books, I think it is also heavily implied that the Dust Mill is further away from the Home Tree than it is in the movies.
It's very interesting you say that "The Pixie Hollow in the movies feels more like a dimension separate from Neverland, that I sometimes forget that Tink and her friends live in Neverland." Because, in the original version of Pixie Hollow it was a distinct place behind a secret portal in Neverland, and had a unique apperance different from Neverland! They try to connect it to the book lore, and the story was even on the website at one point. In this version, Pixie Hollow is located in the waterfall in the middle of Pixie Hollow, and the waterfall is a magical portal. However, the idea of Pixie Hollow being located behind the waterfall- even if it is not magical, is scarcely used in the final canon. I mean in the Pixie Hollow game, there is the speedchat phrase "See you around the waterfall!" for a goodbye phrase and maybe the waterfall is mentioned one or two times in Never Girls. Personally, I'm very biased to this design of Pixie Hollow because I really like the style and how it feels both separate and unique to Neverland. It shares the design of Neverland but is still it's own unique and original place.
Tumblr media
youtube
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Compare to the final version, which takes a lot of cues from the books, down to the Pixie Dust Tree being modeled from the home tree. Design wise I don't hate it, but it always felt a bit "off" to me and rushed. (very likely wise, considering the timeline of the movie's development)
Ironically, it's said by the director they used a lot of shots of the mountains (Discovering Pixie Hollow DVD documentary) to give some sense of Neverland in Tinker Bell. But Tinker Bell, imo- also has felt too different from the world of Neverland and also not similar enough. And a lot of that art was not from the final version of the film!
youtube
But when it comes to the movies, we can get an idea where Pixie Hollow is located based on certain scenes in the films- which I believe is more similar to the books, a forest area- but still close to the falls and closer to the coast of Neverland. It is very hard to see where, but I have an idea.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very close to the center and the falls, but also an elevated forest area as we can see from Tinker Bell's arrival. So the waterfalls were relevant in some ways.
Tumblr media
When they leave Pixie Hollow to go to the Mainland, this is the direction they are coming from.
In Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, she goes north and this is what she sees behind her when she says "Goodbye Pixie Hollow, I'll miss you."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This shot to me, shows the strong differences of Pixie Hollow and Neverland. How in some cases, they went too realistic imo...
TLDR- So, Pixie Hollow's location in both the films and the books (as well as everywhere else) is quite messy to me! I get there's some mystery in not knowing where it is, but there isn't really any indication besides "in the forest clearings of Neverland". Very odd to me that they never directly say where Pixie Hollow is located- anywhere besides a few random places. Also there's the implication that the seasonal meadows of Pixie Hollow are a speck compared to the full world of Neverland in the films, which is surprising to me. It's magical and yet sort of surreal in some ways too I guess hehe
But I overall, prefer the concept movie designs for Pixie Hollow compared to the movie designs, as the design feels very intentionally crafted. The idea of Pixie Hollow being hard to find makes sense, so I wish the movies had it be behind a clearing of some sort as well and not in the middle of the mountains/forest

SONIC THE TAROT Card Previews #2
Tumblr media
Today's previews are for the Major Arcana's Emperor, Hierophant, Lovers, and Chariot! See their guidebook entries below, and check out our website for more and our storefront to preorder a copy!
Tumblr media
4 - The Emperor (Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik)
Calculated control is craved by Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, The Emperor. A master of mechanics, Eggman can be depended upon to hatch a new (and grander) plan after every defeat, always at the command of his seemingly endless army of Badniks. Oddly, Eggman seems to crave a paternal relationship despite his obsessive rigidity, as evidenced by his growing relationship with his “daughter” Sage.
However, Eggman’s obsession with world domination outweighs his positives in The Emperor reversed. He refuses to see reason when it violates his plans, and his stubbornness causes issues when working with Sonic against a greater evil such as the Deadly Six. Eggman also usually treats his creations poorly, abusing or disregarding them if they don’t adhere to his standards, like Orbot and Cubot or (more notably given the existence of Sage) Belle.
The Emperor’s authority can lead to both success and abuse toward those around him.
Upright Keywords: authority, dependability, structure, parental aspirations
Reversed Keywords: over-control, stubbornness, rigidity, abuse
Tumblr media
5 -The Hierophant (Espio the Chameleon)
Knowledgeable in the art of ninjutsu, Espio the Chameleon is nothing if not dedicated to his cause. This traditionalism of The Hierophant tempers the rambunctiousness of Team Chaotix and allows them to achieve their (usually monetary) goals. Espio also values morality and strives to overcome those with ill intentions, seen in his consistent distaste for Eggman’s presence and employment.
Despite these traits, Espio can fall victim to egotistical vices when The Hierophant is reversed. His unconventional company leads to a sense of superiority and he is not above such dishonor like abusing naivety, seen during the Mirage Express incident. Furthermore, his binary interpretation of honor may cause him to be overly harsh against others regardless of external circumstances, such as against Mr. Tinker.
The Hierophant’s dedication to principles is highly admirable, yet he must be careful to stay open-minded towards others.
Upright Keywords: knowledge, dedication, traditionalism, morality
Reversed Keywords: ego, superiority, dishonor, ignorance
Tumblr media
6 - The Lovers (Vanilla the Rabbit and Vector the Crocodile)
The Lovers, Vector the Crocodile and Vanilla the Rabbit, are “opposites attract” incarnate. They aren’t as different as they may seem, however: both are dedicated to protecting whom they love and helping others. Vector’s high-energy career allows Vanilla some excitement in her life, while her calm reason grounds his lofty ideals.
Yet The Lovers’ differences may still cause imbalance when reversed. Vector's temper and monetary motives can drive others away, and Vanilla rarely sugar-coats what she disapproves of. Their personalities may pit Vector and Vanilla against each other in certain topics, such as how to respectively “parent” Charmy and Cream.
The Lovers can face anything so long as they openly communicate.
Upright Keywords: love, kindredness, dedication, alignment
Reversed Keywords: differences, imbalance, conflict of interests, disconnect
Tumblr media
7 - The Chariot (E-123 Omega)
E-123 Omega strives to overcome his status as an Eggman robot. As The Chariot, he wills defeat onto his creator and “siblings” to prove himself as the superior victor. Though his mind is artificial, Omega is determined to protect his friends despite his goals, including rescuing the Resistance during the Phantom Ruby incident.
Once The Chariot is reversed, Omega’s focus manifests poorly. His brazen disregard for safety precautions has him go into situations with guns blazing, even ones that require different strategies. This can lead to him becoming incapacitated—like during the Metal Virus outbreak—forcing him to rely on others for repairs.
The Chariot possesses much ambition but needs to control his aggression to work effectively.
Upright Keywords: overcoming adversity, victory, ambition, determination
Reversed Keywords: unfocused, poor self-control, aggressiveness, incapacitation

another new disney fairies related book coming out in september 2025
... except not really. It's about Tinkerbell but it seems to be very much based on Peter Pan rather than any Disney Fairies canon that we've seen.
Tinker Bell: An Enchanters Tale is going to be a YA novel and the second book in Disney's 'The Enchanters' series, written by the author of those Twisted Tale books. The first book is a Cinderella prequel about Cinderella's fairy godmother when she was a teenager.
The Tinkerbell book seems like it's going to be about how Tink met Peter, and the description doesn't mention any Disney Fairies characters or Pixie Hollow at all.
I don't know if i'll read this one to be honest. I've always cared far more for Disney Fairies in all it's iterations than the Peter Pan story, and the listing mentions that the novel is 'going to be filled with romance' which is kind of a red flag for me personally in this context. But these are all my subjective opinions and I thought I'd share this for anyone who might feel different! I'm sure lots of people will be really excited about this.
Here's the link to the listing for this on the penguin website so you can read more about it:

Christopher Wiggins at The Advocate:
The right-wing agitator was testifying about a fake Republican conspiracy theory and tried to pretend Project 2025 was essentially unknown to him.
The drama of American politics took center stage on Capitol Hill Wednesday as U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, a Democrat from California, delivered a scathing interrogation of conservative firebrand Ben Shapiro — the subject of the confrontation: Project 2025 and its controversial stances on LGBTQ+ issues and reproductive rights. Swalwell wasted no time diving into the heart of the matter. “The country has, in the last couple of weeks, talked a lot about and Googled Project 2025. It’s one of the most Googled search terms right now,” he began, setting the stage for a tense exchange. Shapiro, ever the provocateur and founder of the far-right Daily Wire website, attempted to dismiss the relevance of Project 2025 with a characteristically flippant remark. “I think, like President Trump, I haven’t looked all that deeply at Project 2025, but it seems that Democrats on this committee, sort of like Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, if they say Project 2025 enough, their presidential candidate becomes alive again.” Shapiro appeared before the GOP-led hearing — titled “Collusion in the Global Alliance for Responsible Media” — to testify in support of the far-right conspiracy theory that media collusion is suppressing conservative voices.
But Swalwell was undeterred. He pressed Shapiro on the specifics of the Heritage Foundation’s plan, particularly its impact on reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ protections. “How about banning the abortion pill? That’s part of Project 2025. Do you support that part?” Swalwell demanded. Shapiro, with his trademark rapid-fire delivery, responded, “I’m a fully pro-life person, which means that I’m not in favor of the distribution of the abortion pill.” Swalwell shifted the conversation to marriage equality, sensing an opportunity to corner Shapiro further. “But you think it’s a sin to have same-sex marriage? I’m just asking, is it a sin to be gay?” “From a religious Jewish perspective, orientation is not a sin, but activity is,” Shapiro replied, leaning on his religious beliefs to justify his stance. Swalwell pressed further, “And just because we found some receipts, you did say, ‘I think homosexual activity is a sin.’” “Yes, I’m a religious Jew,” Shapiro admitted. “You found me out.” Swalwell, not missing a beat, repeated Shapiro’s words from a 2018 Slate interview. “And you said, ‘I may have a desire to sleep with many women, but I do not.’”
[...] In recent weeks, after Democrats highlighted the dystopian and authoritarian Project 2025 plan that would upend the federal workforce and change American society into a shell of itself, Trump and Republicans have tried to distance themselves from the plan. However, Project 2025 has the fingerprints of dozens of MAGA loyalists on it, and the Heritage Foundation’s president, Kevin Roberts, recently said that the plan is to “institutionalize Trumpism.” Swalwell didn’t stop there. He turned his attention to the broader Republican strategy of promoting blockbuster hearings that ultimately fizzle out. “We were supposed to have votes on articles of impeachment, and we didn’t. We were supposed to have Hunter Biden testify, and now he’s not testifying. Republicans write great press releases, but the payoff seems to never come. Instead, they continue to engage in posturing rather than legislating,” Swalwell said.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) pwned Ben Shapiro good.

Tinker Bell Theories #3
(this is my favorite one yet)
According to the old Disney Fairies website, apparently, Bobble's darkest secret is that he's afraid of being seen as stupid. That is the reason he acts so charming and high on the social class and did I mention charming. So let me take this one step further. What if his biggest FEAR is not being seen as the smartest, similar to how Vidia is jealous of not being the most talented.
Perhaps this was an underlying plot from the beginning. You've got two fairies, both of whom are incredibly talented in their own right, both afraid of being outshined by someone else.
But in the first movie, Vidia didn't hide her jealousy well. She made it so obvious that she was jealous and that made her the antagonist for the entire show.
But Bobble is better at hiding his emotions (minus the times he about takes Clank's head off) and no one suspects that he is jealous of Tink and possibly Clank as well, but not for the same reason.
We know Bobble is capable of displaying more personality than just the goofy sidekick he and Clank are made out to be. We've seen it. The question is, how far and how deep does that fear run?

you're a man
Bruce is a major recurring character on Family Guy, known for his various jobs.
Bruce rarely appeared at all in the first three seasons of the show, but has become a recurring character since the show returned from cancellation.
He first appeared as the clerk of a horror novelty shop in "Chitty Chitty Death Bang". In "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire", he teaches a CPR course at the Quahog Community Center. His name was first revealed when he appeared as a member of the school board committee of James Woods Regional High School in "No Chris Left Behind". This position was implied when he heard the name change proposal to Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial High School sought by Shauna Parks and Brian Griffin in "Peter's Got Woods".
He appear as a Tetris piece in "Prick Up Your Ears" and as a medium in "Petergeist". He worked for Exotic Entertainment.
In "Road to the Multiverse", he performs "It’s A Wonderful Day for Pie" as a parody of Tinker Bell in the Disney-style universe.
He is Peter Griffin's lawyer for his trial in the accused murder of his wife Lois in "Stewie Kills Lois". He calls Jeffrey about Stewie in "Lois Kills Stewie", and about Peter's mustache in "McStroke".
In "Boys Do Cry", he offers communion wafers with wine. He explicitly warns Stewie not to drink the wine.
In "Baby Not On Board", he is a masseuse.
He appeared at O.J. Simpson's welcome party in "The Juice Is Loose", and joins the mob that chases him out of town.
In "Peter's Two Dads", he is the therapist who helps Peter realize that Francis Griffin is not his biological father.
He debates which groceries to leave behind while in the ten items or less line in "Brian Sings and Swings".
It has been hinted that he may be homosexual throughout the series, such as in "McStroke" when a mustachioed Peter walks by. He has a friend named Jeffrey and in "Road to the North Pole", he declares in "All I Really Want For Christmas" that he wants to marry Jeffrey. Seth MacFarlane confirmed Bruce's homosexuality in an interview with LGBT website The Backlot, citing him as an example of a positive gay character on the show.
In "The Splendid Source", it is revealed that he works at the bowling alley, selling rental shoes. He is one of the people to whom the dirty joke is traced. It s revealed he also has a pet rabbit named Steven.
He plays Greedo in Blue Harvest and Admiral Piett in Something, Something, Something, Dark Side.
In "Tales of a Third Grade Nothing", he seems to be the only one who enjoyed the performance of "Guys & Dolls". He also enjoys ginger ale.
He is the announcer of Lois Griffin's boxing match against Deirdre Jackson in "Baby, You Knock Me Out".
He is an alcoholic, participating in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings Peter attends in "Friends of Peter G".
Bruce can be seen as Stewie rides through town under Brian's car in "Family Guy Viewer Mail No. 2".
The uncensored version of "Ratings Guy" includes a scene of Peter getting a haircut from Bruce, who shaves a misshapen, deformed penis into the back of his head. When Peter questions it, Bruce runs out crying, noting that some people have had an accident.
Bruce is teamed up with Bonnie Swanson in the three-legged race in "He's Bla-ack!".
In the courtroom scene in "The Simpsons Guy", the openly gay Bruce is seated next to the closeted gay Waylon Smithers.
Throughout the series, Mike Henry has given certain anthropomorphic creatures such as Jaws and a Xenomorph the same voice as he's given Bruce.
Bruce is revealed to be 52 in "Underage Peter", having told Jeffrey that he was 39.
In "Married...With Cancer", Bruce officiates Brian's wedding and remarks that it's another wedding he has to watch. He makes his intentions of marriage known to Jeffrey who nervously looks away.
Bruce and the Kool-Aid Man swap bodies in "Switch the Flip". He also has a crowd scene cameo in "No Giggity, No Doubt".
Under pressure from his parents Phil & Candy Straight, Bruce proposes to Meg in "Meg's Wedding". She refuses to acknowledge that he's gay at first, but stops the ceremony and admits she's aware after finding pictures in his phone. ✨Fairies Finds✨: New Early Artwork and Promotional Video from 2005 Disney Fairies Japan Website with Gail Carson Levine- Author of Fairy Dust Trilogy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fly with you everyone and happy Friday the 13th! I have been looking into Disney Fairies pre-release stuff ever since some early stuff was posted into Art of Disney Fairies. I have also been interested in media preservation since late 2017 when I found Web Back Then. Truthfully, despite having this interest when trying to find the old Disney Fairies games from my childhood- I never really shared much with the world. I feel like I should remedy that! (this find is relatively recent though I found it yesterday!)
This is a video I found on the Internet Archive from disneyfairies.jp, a promotional page on the Disney Japan website that seems disconnected from the main Disney Fairies page which was a clone of the original website. See here
Through some research the gist of the video is this:
The video starts with an introduction to the original Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, which is interjected with clips from Disney's Peter Pan. Then we see more artwork of Disney Fairies- including unfamilar designs including early Vidia, Rani, Fira etc. According to Part of the Magic, Disney Fairies started development in early 2001- the series was launched fully in 2005. Then Gail (dubbed of course) begins to describe the plot of Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg whilst we see several pictures of this early Disney Fairies art. Interesting pictures as we get to see the very early designs of Disney Fairies characters that I have never seen before.
Interestingly, this video was never embedded on the page, you had to download it and play it through a video player such as Windows Media Player or Real Player, it was 2005 after all.
Tumblr media
Here is the screen you'd see when you'd want to watch this promotional video. I recognize the leaves used in early flash games such as Lightball Challenge, Dragonfly Race etc.
Tumblr media
A page on the website that I found with my decomplier, i couldn't view it normally!
I tried looking for this video in English to no avail, or any version on the internet. It must have only been accessible through this website.
Interestingly, I found this other page whilst doing my page digging thing again and found this, suggesting this was also a Japan exclusive and not for the American market ... and there is more early promotional stuff to be found in relation to Disney Fairies!
Tumblr media
I also looked into one the main book artists on the creative team, Judith Holmes Clarke. She had a website I found on her IMDB page, that was live around 2017-2019. I saw this and wanted to add it as it had one of the stills in this video. It also has a sketch of Rosetta and Tink. This is what I found:
Tumblr media
It is probably a scan of this magazine, Disney Newsreel, mentioned on her IMDB.
Overall, I'm super happy with this find and I'm so happy to share it with you all!! I will be happy to share more now that I'm publicly outing myself not just as this fan of children's fairy media- an archivist. gasp...
Also probably making a website/blog which I will share later and will be in the About Me link with my other socials.
Tumblr media
And believe me, this is just the beginning

SONIC THE TAROT Card Previews #17
Tumblr media
Today's previews are for the Suit of Wands' Ace of Wands, Two of Wands, Three of Wands, and Four of Wands! See their guidebook entries below, and check out our website for more and our storefront to preorder a copy!
Tumblr media
Ace of Wands (Avatar)
A customizable rookie, the Avatar presents great potential to the Resistance’s cause as the Ace of Wands. Initially cowardly, joining the fight against the Eggman Empire allows them to grow into a take-action soldier that directly collaborates with Sonic and friends. After victory in The War to Take Back the Planet, the Avatar becomes inspired to begin new adventures elsewhere, now capable in their own right.
The road to heroism is a rocky one, seen when the Ace of Wands is reversed. Opportunities to prove themself initially went unanswered, as any intimidation from Infinite would cripple the Avatar in crucial moments. Only repeated team-ups with Sonic gave them a direction to fight back within instead of being distracted by fear.
The Ace of Wands is given many fruitful opportunities for glory, but must be guided to stay on track.
Upright Keywords: potential, growth, inspiration, new opportunities
Reversed Keywords: lack of initiative, roadblocks, cowardice, distraction
Tumblr media
Two of Wands (Trip the Sungazer)
The Two of Wands, Trip the Sungazer is caught up between two sides in her initial appearance. Although loving and gentle in nature, she is forced into a partnership with Eggman and Fang during their stay at the Northstar Islands. Eventually fed up with the workplace harassment, she joins Sonic and friends against her former colleagues to protect her home from their plundering.
When the Two of Wands is reversed, however, Trip’s anxiety becomes more evident. Eggman and Fang’s abuse and doubt of her skills causes her to withdraw into herself, visualized by the heavy helmet she usually wears. Even when the Northstar Islands return to peace, Trip doesn’t completely let go of this safety blanket and still hides her face during uncomfortable moments.
The Two of Wands will eventually choose to do what’s right, but the fear of the unknown may threaten her decision.
Upright Keywords: contrasting paths, business partnerships, decisions, taking steps to improve
Reversed Keywords: withdrawal, inaction, staying in one place, self-doubt
Tumblr media
Three of Wands (Belle the Tinkerer)
The surrogate daughter of an amnesiac Eggman, Belle the Tinkerer is a friendly Badnik and the Three of Wands. Timid and withdrawn when first becoming acquaintances with the Restoration, she soon finds purpose in helping Tails in the repair shop, even helping fix the heavily-damaged Omega. Eventually, Belle aims to liberate all Badniks from Eggman’s control, even succeeding in part with the help of Motobud.
Belle’s longing for the past takes over when the Three of Wands is reversed. For a long time, she refuses to consider Eggman and Mr. Tinker as the same people, and uncharacteristically lashes out at Starline—who reversed the amnesia—when given the chance. Even after accepting the truth, Belle seems to hold out hope that Eggman might return to his kindly ways and be her father once more.
The Three of Wands can build her own self-purpose if she doesn’t let the past haunt her.
Upright Keywords: growing confidence, hard work paying off, spreading one's wings, planning for the future
Reversed Keywords: clinging to the past, disappointment, frustration, holding out hope
Tumblr media
Four of Wands (Marine the Raccoon and Ariem)
Marine the Raccoon and Ariem both represent alternate worlds as the Four of Wands. Marine hails from the Sol Dimension, and her spirited-if-reckless nature surely forms a “welcome home” that Blaze never expects. Meanwhile, Ariem’s guardianship of the Reverie, a "home away from home" where dreams come true, is a celebration of the imagination and the impossible.
Not everything is all smiles when the Four of Wands is reversed. Marine’s recklessness grates on the nerves of Blaze and friends, and feeling unwelcome causes her to face Captain Whisker alone. Furthermore, the Reverie can easily grant wishes for those with unstable or malicious dreams, which Ariem finds out once Eggman appears.
The Four of Wands represents the joy of the home and heart, but support is still needed in order to thrive.
Upright Keywords: a welcome home, community, surprises, celebration
Reversed Keywords: lack of support, not fitting in, conflict with others, unstable homelife

SMART BOMB
The Completely Unnecessary News Analysis
By Christopher Smart
July 4, 2023
PRETZEL LOGIC — SUPREME COURT GETS BENT
What if you were on the Supreme Court and were burned-out from all the luxury vacations paid for by billionaires who would never try to influence you. Well, of course, you'd want to sink your teeth into some important legal case that could steer the country toward what the Founders sought: a perfect union for white, male land owners. Alas, such cases are as rare as judicial restraint in the Roberts Court. But what about taking on a case that hasn't happened yet. What if a would-be Colorado web designer worried that at a future time she could be asked by a same-sex couple to make a website for their wedding. Attorneys for the “Christian” web designer argued the First Amendment protects her from doing something she could be asked to do later. In a 6-3 decision the court's conservative majority ruled that Colorado's anti-discrimination act can't force the web designer to exercise speech in a way that she did not want to express herself if in the future some gay people sought her communication skills as the state law outlines if, in fact, any of such circumstances materialized in a way that would keep her from exercising her First Amendment right to discriminate against any group. Yeah, that's the ticket. Originalism. The First Amendment right to discriminate in the future. Gotta love it, baby.
THE CRACKDOWN CRACKDOWN AIN'T NO OXYMORON
It's time to crackdown on people who are cracking down on misinformation. It's the crackdown crackdown to ensure what you get is what you want to hear. GOP lawmakers and righteous right-wingers are going after those horrible conspirators colluding with the government to suppress conservative thought, aka misinformation, inverted oxymorons and bull pucky. Universities, think tanks and private entities that study the spread of disinformation are the targets of what The New York Times calls a “sweeping legal campaign” to undermine the fight against disinformation. But conservatives contend that researchers who study disinformation are squeezing news platforms to discriminate against conservative voices. The House Judiciary Committee, headed up by Jim “tight undies” Jordan, accused them of “censorship of disfavored speech” — including the outcome of the 2020 election. It's so unfair. How are we going to Make America Great Again if there are a bunch of fact-checkers focusing on reality that runs counter to the conservative mindset. How are we going to impeach Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Jill Biden and Biden's dog Commander if we can't get the great unwashed all riled up with bull pucky. Hang Commander Biden. Hang Commander Biden. Hang Commander Biden.
MAKE AMERICA LIKE FLORIDA — NO F-ING MICKEY MOUSE
What do you do if  you're Gov. Ron DeSantis and want to gain on the frontrunner and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. For starters, you bust a hump trying to eradicate all those Disney World characters: Goofy, Donald Duck, Tinker Bell and Jiminy Cricket. They're all gay, except for Mickey Mouse who is horribly woke and wants to make your kids switch genders. And since it's impossible to overdo a good thing, you can run a video showing how in Florida you're stamping out those dangerous queers all the while criticizing Trump for saying he would protect LGBTQ folks after the massacre at the Pulse Nightclub. You would never protect them — the only good queer is a dead queer. If that still doesn't bring your poll numbers up you can make a campaign pledge to dismantle the departments of Education, Commerce, Energy and — wait for it — the Internal Revenue Service. Who needs the IRS, anyway — a bunch of deep state bureaucrats who sit around hassling rich people. Of course the IRS will never be abolished but like faux allegations of voter fraud it's a gift that keeps on giving. And you can dream up a great campaign slogan: “Make America Like Florida.” After all, it's the “Sunshine State” — perpetual summer, crony capitalism and homophobia. What's not to like.
Post Script — That's going to do it for one hot week here at Smart Bomb where we keep track of Gov. Spencer Cox's prayers so you don't have to. As Smart Bomb readers will recall, the governor asked Utahns to pray for snow to end the drought and save the Great Salt Lake. Well, according to the guv, the Lord came through with a banner 900-inch snow season. Now he says it's time to thank the Lord for answering our prayers. It's only polite, plus we want to keep Him on our good side so when we pray for snow again he won't give us the stink eye. News Flash — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is advising the public not to get close to bison on Antelope Island. The 1,000-pound beasts don't like to be messed with as we've seen recently in Yellowstone when tourists act like they're visiting the petting zoo. No word from the guv on whether we should pray for them. But here's who the governor should pray for: American white pelicans. They are disappearing by the thousands from Gunnison Island on the north end of the Great Salt Lake. The shrinking waters have created land bridges that allow predators to get their fill of the birds that nest there every spring. The pelicans don't have much pull with the governor and so the Lord might not know they need help. Pray for pelicans, damnit!
Well Wilson, darn it to heck, those poor pelicans are out of luck — dinner for Wiley Coyote. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Did you know, Wilson, that some people think if the Lord deems you deserving He'll make you rich. Although that does seem puzzling at times when you see who's got all the loot. Anyway, how about you and the guys in the band gin up something for those of us who are still praying to be deserving:
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz? My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends So Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz? Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV? Dialing for dollars is trying to find me I wait for delivery each day until three So oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV? Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town? I'm counting on you, Lord, please don't let me down Prove that you love me and buy the next round Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town? Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz? My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends So oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?

No cause your so right on how it's one of Disney's best franchises but it doesn't get the recognision it deserves and I'm still made about it
Here's some things I don't like on how Disney treated the series
1. Removal of classic Flash games in 2013 from the Disney website like Lightball challenge, Tink's Fairy Tag, and Dragonfly Race leaving them lost/nearly impossible to find, or in a seemingly broken and unplayble state. Additionally, printouts and other downloadables that could have stayed were often removed after website updates. I hate when normal features of a website get removed, and Disney Fairies had this the most as someone who spent a lot of their time on the disney website as a kid
2. Having the audacity to make an html5 game called Pixie Party Couture with pixie hollow assets, like a year after the game shut down. Like literally Tabby of the Never Council was in the dress up game
3. It's mostly mismanagement, but cancelling the original draft for Tinker Bell and not updating the marketing material, even when it had been pushed back by a year. Especially on the 2007 website for the first year it was out.
5. Not crediting people enough? like for the original TB draft and the books authors being "Disney Storybook Art Team" even in the book, leading people to dig to find who worked on their damn books
6. Failing to capture an audience for Pixie Hollow, yet Toontown which had been somewhat slow on content iirc yet Pixie Hollow still never had a problem with new and original concepts, as well as fun events. Again, mismanagment, but it sometimes makes me sad knowing Pixie Hollow, while it was popular, had a signifigantly smaller audience then the others. And honestly, I don't think it's the fault of Pixie Hollow, but poor marketing. Which puts the stress on the employees for working on an "unpopular" game, which clearly had people playing it and a good retention of players. It was cancelled like 5/6 years in, when it could have at least lasted another few years because it was 2013.
7. Keeping Pixie Hollow's "beta" on internationally, and showcasing that they could have still kept the smaller more relaxed experience of creating a fairy and creating a page for the character. But since they wanted to transition to mobile apps in the US, most people who grew up with the site did not know of the international versions. Which closed around 2016/2017. Meaning if you were a hardcore Pixie Hollow fan or lived outside of the US, you got 3 more years of PH- just a more toned down version
8. Pages were found on the Disney website that misleading people that the game was going to come back, but they were just leaks/archived pages from the original website. These pages were easy for others to find, one person even found a login page confirming Disney still had the account data for Pixie Hollow.
9. Removing the book characters from the franchise almost entirely except as side characters or very specific instances like in Pixie Hollow. Even if those characters could still be recognizable or interesting, they never started pushing them as actual characters within the movie's shared universe until like 2014. The characters had 3 years to exist and existed for longer than that because they waited for the release of Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg to even debut the franchise.
10. Shortening down a full length movie Race through the Seasons, into Pixie Hollow games leaving the director to scramble into making it a 30 minute TV special, when that wasn't the assignment.
11. People made more ideas for Disney Fairies projects. And they just sat there and waited until they wanted to shut the studio (Disneytoon) down, barely producing anything!
12. Prioritzing another franchise so much that when people ordered a Disney Fairies magazine they sent out the other one when they pulled it instead of cancelling the orders. When there was a Youtube channel, it got replaced and the videos were unlisted with uh *this more popular*! franchise 👸😮‍💨 Only lead to confusion in both cases I assure you
13. Playing hot and cold with us because people didn't know they didn't cancel the entire thing, or if it was offically completely done. Which is understandable because of the whole Youtube rebrand as Disney Princess, and also poor marketing and releasing in the US
14. The first book was the first to release internationally, yet a lot of international translation ceased completely around the mid 2010s
15. They made another Iridessa book. And they only released in Japan and Australia. Written by a prominent Black author. Extremely rare. Leading to someone in 2017 having to scan it for people to read it. Iridessa and the Secret of the Never Mine
16. Not including Joel Mcneely's songs on the inspired by Tinker Bell soundtracks. Which again, mislead people because they are not the actual soundtracks
17. This is more on the Pixie Hollow team, but the lack of support from the closure is not something I liked. Like I get it if they weren't properly able to add a proper farewell celebration like Club Penguin's in 2017, but naming the closing event Pixie Hollow Farewell wasn't a good move. Like did they forget that's a fictional place that many kids are attached to and a game? Wish it was the "Fly with You Forever" party or something more creative. The closing announcement felt very out of character and was assigned one of the NPCs, which I remember recieving mixed announcements. Leading them to make a new post that came across as more sympathetic, and add free membership for the remaining period. But there was a lack of attention when it came to the games closure, probably due to the fact it was rushed and 4 games were planned to close on one day. And we deserved a proper goodbye and tribute to the characters of Pixie Hollow like the council and others, making the ending more bittersweet instead of just bitter. Oh, but they'd actually have to code that in the fairy game so they didn't bother.
You know what maybe I’m just tired and feeling the existential dread of growing up, but actually my small, petty hill to die on is that I don’t think I will ever forgive Disney for abandoning the fairies franchise. I cannot even properly express what those movies were to me as a kid. They very well may have been my first hyperfixation. But come on beyond the sentimental value, those movies:
Encouraged kids to take an interest in nature and be nice to plants and animals.
Depicted a (mostly female) friend group that spent virtually every scene they had together onscreen building each other up and supporting each other.
Featured a female lead who is essentially a mechanical engineer, and is not treated as any less magical or important for it than her friends who can magically make flowers grow or bend light (except for the first movie wherein her feeling less magical and important is the central conflict).
Gave said female lead a “love interest,” I say in quotations because while they are definitely implied to have romantic feelings for each other, he is never called anything other than her best friend and the two of them ending up together is never treated as an urgent priority. Their friendship is incredibly important to both of them, but no one acts like it’s a problem that they’re just friends for now.
Redeemed the mean girl pretty damn successfully (in my opinion), Vidia never apologizes for most of her actions onscreen, but she does realize when she’s gone too far and makes an effort to fix her mistakes, and from that point on she is integrated into the friend group who, as I mentioned before, spend 90% of their screen time uplifting each other.
In The Lost Treasure, let Tink’s temper have consequences, a good lesson for kids in not taking their friends for granted and treating them kindly, but also teaching respect for boundaries and personal space through Terrence’s end.
In Secret of the Wings, demonstrated that sometimes rules are there for safety reasons, but you can try to think of a creative solution to do what you want while still keeping things safe for everyone.
In Legend of the Neverbeast (admittedly not the greatest movie in the series), depicted the fairies having to say goodbye to an animal companion permanently, something most kids will probably experience at some point.
Inspired a banger of an online game and several banger songs.
And what has Disney done with this franchise they spent 7 years on (longer if you count the books)?
Allowed a massive decline in quality on the last movie made (Legend of the Neverbeast) and then acted shocked when it didn’t do as well as the previous ones.
Cancelled all fairy projects after that.
Shut down the game in 2013.
Made a bunch of the songs from the soundtracks seemingly disappear off the face of the earth.
I know it doesn’t make the top 100 shitty things Disney has done, probably not even the top 1000, but I am still extremely salty about it, even though it’s been almost 10 years.
