Before I was a Maker of Things my Dad taught me everything about building and making. We built “the barn” together. Upon completion, my Dad hung a terracotta sun on the side. The sun was host to many bird families and a source of great pleasure over the years. It was the very last thing I packed when “the barn” was torn down. Yesterday my mover handled the new office move solo while I worked wrapping up tax season. As a surprise he hung my Dad’s sun in the same exact spot as it used to hang on “the barn”. I mean…how did he know? What a tiny sweet thoughtful thing to do that brings me great joy.
