Hi! I've recently finished watching dw for the first time (well seasons 1-4 of nuwho but I have a feeling that's gonna be it for me for a while) and fell down the doctor/rose rabbit hole! Their arc is sooo perfect and satisfying, never seen one like it for a couple I ship before!!

I'm the biggest tentoo fan and I've kinda been stalking your blog delighting in everything you post about tentoo/rose and the pairing in general! Unfortunately I have a hard time finding other blogs loving nine/rose, ten/rose and tentoo/rose at the same time (though it kinda baffles me, how can you separate them like this???) so I was wondering if you had some blog recs?

I think one of the reasons i never got into shipping discourse in Ranma 1/2, was it was very definitely clear that Ranma and Akane are the canon couple, since the beginning. All the other suitors are literally a joke.

Like, i love Ryouga. But he was always just going to be only a friend to Akane, a rival to Ranma, and a conflict catalyst for Rankane and the plot. So much comedy comes from his unrequited crush, Akane not noticing, and Ranma's jealousy. Ryouga is the strongest, most believable, regular, emotional threat to Ranma for Akane's affections, and even his chances with Akane are more a joke than any real chance he could steal her away.

I was actually really surprised to hear old fans calling Shampoo "best girl", when the remake was released. Because to me, she's purely a physical threat and plot catalyst, since she has no real chance with Ranma. He doesn't like her. She's just there to make Akane jealous, while we laugh at the irony of him so visibly, clearly, disliking her.🤣 She may be pretty, exceed conventional beauty standards, and frequently enthusiastically throwing herself onto Ranma, but those usual reasons for generalized jealousy are superficial, because Ranma is always repulsed by Shampoo. Because of this, the idea of Ranma choosing her is literally laughable to me. And i think that's the joke. So i guess when fans say "best girl", they mean THEIR favorite, not who they believe Ranma would choose.
