This is definitely how the Meet the Malfoys TLSQ definitely totally went.
Have it set in their 3rd Year, which would have Draco be around 6 years old so he's SMOL. Merula got angry and made a hell of a face that frightened him. She's ready to punt that child into orbit.
I never played the sidequest ya'll LMAO

Year 6: Your Song × Remembrall Me
(Jae and Chiara)
Author’s Note: This story is inspired by Chiara's dating quest (Your Song) and Jae’s dating sidequest (Remembrall Me).
This is a fanfiction based on Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. I do not own any of these characters or the Harry Potter universe. All rights belong to their respective (and disappointingly problematic) creator. However, this story and space are inclusive and celebrate all fans. Hope you enjoy it!
Part 1/4
The divination classroom smelled faintly of old parchment and rose petals. Chiara checked the items for the third time. The rose petals were arranged just right, the candles steady. Her books were stacked neatly, feathers ready, ink uncapped. It was perfect. At least, she hoped it was. She had something important to ask Jae, something that could change everything between them after weeks of secret dates. She took a deep breath, then spun around at the sound of the door creaking open.
Jae stepped in and froze. His eyes swept over the room and then landed on her.
Jae: “Whoa…”
Chiara stood near the table, tugging at the edge of her sleeve. “Hey. You made it.”
Jae: “I didn’t realize you were redecorating the place.”
Chiara: “I got permission from Professor Trelawney to use the classroom. I just wanted to make it nice.”
Jae: “For a date?”
Chiara: “For a study date.” she corrected. “I know it’s not really your thing, but we haven’t had much time to ourselves lately.”
Jae: “You’re not entirely wrong. It’s been a while since our last secret date. I’m not sure how much studying I’ll actually do, though.”
It was clear that he was more interested in being with her than any of the books in front of them.
Chiara: “Listen, there’s something I want to talk to you about…but we should probably finish our homework first.”
Jae: “We can always skip the studying part.”
Chiara: “Oh, I don’t think so, Jae. I invited you here to study, so that’s what we’re gonna do.”
Jae: “Okay, fine. I’ll try my best. But it’s going to be really hard when you’re right there.”
Chiara couldn’t help but laugh at his persistence. They managed to make it through the study session, though it was clear Jae was struggling. Chiara, though she tried to stay focused herself, couldn’t help but smile at his obvious attempts to get it over with.
Once they finished up, Chiara leaned back in her chair with a satisfied sigh escaping her lips.
Chiara: “Alright, I think we’re done.”
Jae closed his copy of Advanced Potion-Making with a satisfied snap and set it aside.
Jae: “Finally, thank Merlin. I think I passed out somewhere around chapter 12.”
She chuckled. But her laugh faded into something more uncertain. He straightened a little, sensing the shift.
Jae: “So, what did you want to tell me?”
Chiara: “Sorry, I’m just…a little nervous. I’ve been thinking about how I feel around you.”
For a second, Jae tensed. The way she looked at him made something twist in his chest. He thought maybe she was about to pull away from whatever had been growing between them.
Jae: “You’re kinda scaring me a little bit. What’s wrong?”
She glanced at Jae, trying to gather the words.
Chiara: “There's this secret concert. It’s gonna be a mix of Muggle-borns, werewolves, punks...all sorts of people. And the Weird Sisters are playing, and I thought...maybe you’d want to come with me?”
She hesitated, then added quickly, “I'd really like to share my first concert experience with you.”
Relief hit Jae like a wave. There wasn’t a beat of doubt in his answer.
Jae: “Yeah. Of course!”
Chiara: “Really?”
Jae: “Chiara, it’s a secret concert full of misfits and Ministry-haters. That’s basically my idea of a perfect day.”
Chiara couldn’t help but smile. She hadn’t expected him to actually be that eager to go to the concert.
Chiara: “Of course, we need to first find where the concert is even being held…Any ideas?”
He smirked, leaning in slightly as though he was about to drop a secret.
Jae: “Actually, I might know a few people who could help with that.”
Chiara: “Oh, let me guess. Knockturn Alley?”
Jae: “You know me too well. I’ve got a friend who’s...connected. But we might need to make a little trade.”
Chiara: “What kind of trade are we talking about?”
Jae: “Nothing too crazy. You just have to trust me.”
Chiara gave him a skeptical look but nodded.
Chiara: “Alright. What’s the plan?”
Jae stood up, offering her his hand.
Jae: “Follow me. There’s something we need to acquire first..from Filch’s office.”
The quiet Hufflepuff took his hand but remained seated in her chair. She didn’t sound entirely convinced.
Chiara: “And this is just about the concert?”
Jae: “There might be something else too. But all things in good time.”
Chiara: “You’re going to get caught.”
Jae: “Only if you let me go alone.”
Chiara: “You’re right; someone has to make sure you don’t get into too much trouble.”
She finally stood up and glanced around the table. With a simple flick of her wand, the books, candles, and the red roses vanished.
Chiara: “There. Now, we can go.”
Part 2/4
Jae and Chiara made their way through the castle to Filch's office. When they arrived, Jae quietly whispered Alohomora to unlock the door with his wand. Before they went inside, he handed Chiara a vial of Shrinking Solution he had brewed weeks ago. They each took a sip and almost immediately, the world around them seemed to grow larger. They were no bigger than mice.
The air inside the office smelled like cat fur and stale ink. Papers and forbidden trinkets cluttered every surface. Somewhere in this mess was an object they could use for the trade. Chiara couldn’t hide her nervousness. She’d never gotten used to the feeling of sneaking in. Jae noticed her uneasiness.
Jae: “Breathe, Moonbeam. We’re ghosts. No one’s catching us today.”
After searching through a few drawers, they found a shimmering brooch embedded with a strange rune.
Jae: “This looks nice.”
Chiara: “What is it?”
Jae: “I don’t know. But it looks rare.”
Chiara: “It’s probably worth more than a few secrets.”
Jae could imagine the brooch’s value; maybe enough for a new broom or for a week’s worth of sweets from Honeydukes. But that wasn’t what he cared about.
Jae: “Good, it means we’ll definitely get the location of the concert.”
He cast the Shrinking Charm, making the brooch small enough to carry. He gave it to Chiara who pinned it to her robes, looking grateful.
Chiara: “I can’t thank you enough for helping me with my dream.”
Jae: “Of course. Anything that matters to you, matters to me.”
Chiara: “But that’s not all, is it? What else are you looking for?”
Jae didn’t answer right away. Instead, he sat on top of a closed inkwell, avoiding her eyes.
Chiara stepped a little closer.
Chiara: “It must be something that means a lot to you, if it’s got you deflecting this way. I’m ready to listen if you want to talk.” she said, smiling.
Jae froze for a minute. He then caught her smile and the tension between them broke. They both let out soft laughs, a little relieved.
Jae: “You got me…I was having a little too much fun keeping you in the dark. But it’s time I tell you the whole story.”
Chiara: “Go ahead.”
Jae: “When I was younger, I always wanted a Remembrall, but my dad couldn’t afford one. So we made up our own game: we’d slip each other red and white sheets of paper whenever one of us forgot or remembered something.”
He kept talking, one memory leading into the next. They both started to laugh, the kind of laughter that comes when something just feels right. And as Chiara listened, she realized she wanted to know every piece of who he was.
Chiara: “I’m really glad you told me, Jae. It makes sense now, I see why you wanted to break into the office.”
Jae: “This was about your dream first. But now that we’re here, I do want to find the Remembrall too. You don’t have to stay, though. I can catch up with you later.”
She gave a small nod, then reached for his hand almost without thinking.
Chiara: “To be honest, I don’t enjoy breaking rules the way you and your partners in crime do. But just like you said: if it matters to you, it matters to me as well. So let’s find the Remembrall together.”
They continued their search and after some time, Chiara spotted a Remembrall. Jae used a Shrinking Charm to reduce its size until it fit in his hands.
The Remembrall was red, but neither of them noticed. They were standing closer than usual.
Jae: “I guess we both got what we came for. Thank you.”
Chiara: “You’re welcome. It feels like…we’re making each others’ dreams come true.” She said, a bit nervous.
Jae’s heart beat faster, and something in him ached. They’ve shared feelings, dreams and adventures but they haven’t crossed over into naming it yet. However, in this moment, it felt like they could be.
Jae: “My dad told me that happiness is about finding people who help you celebrate what you already have.”
Chiara: “That’s a very beautiful way to see things.”
Jae: “...I think I’ve found someone like that.”
And suddenly the air between them was different. This time, Jae gently took her hand. Chiara’s mind was racing. The closer they got, the harder it became to hide how flustered she was. And just as the space between them was about to disappear…
Filch: “Can’t get a moment’s peace anywhere, there’s always something afoot in this blasted castle.” He grumbled.
Chiara: “Cavolo!” she blurted out, completely panicked.
Filch stomped inside, muttering to himself and locking the door behind him.
Chiara’s eyes widened when she finally noticed the Remembrall. She instantly grabbed Jae’s arm and whispered the Disillusionment Charm. As a result, their bodies took on different colors, until they blended almost perfectly with their surroundings.
Chiara: “The remembrall, Jae. It was red.”
Jae: “Really? I probably forgot that some days Filch comes back from his rounds early.”
A corner of his mouth lifted, like he might laugh, but Chiara was absolutely not amused. So Jae’s smile faded, because his perfect moment with Chiara was ruined.
Jae: “Don’t worry, I’ll distract him. You take the Remembrall and get out of here. I’ll find you after.”
Chiara: “No way. Hide it in your pocket, take the brooch and go. We can meet later, when you and the Remembrall are safe.”
Before he could argue, she pressed the item into his hands.
Chiara distracted Filch just long enough for Jae to sneak out without being seen. She waited a moment, then quietly slipped away herself.
Part 3/4
Chiara hadn’t seen Jae for the rest of the day, not even at dinner even though she kept looking toward the Gryffindor table.
After the feast, when most people had left the Great Hall, she found herself walking through the quiet halls. Just around the corner, she finally spotted him. Jae’s eyes lit up when he saw her.
Jae: “Hey.”
Chiara: “You’re here. I kept wondering if everything went okay.”
Jae: “I already made the trade. I have the address now.”
She slightly moved her arms, as if she wanted to hug him, but then hesitated.
Chiara: “I’m really glad you didn’t get caught.”
Jae: “You handled things very well too. So, does that make you officially one of my partners in crime?” he asked ironically.
Chiara: “I’d rather leave the break-ins and prankings to the professionals, thank you.” She said, laughing.
Jae: “That’s fair. Charlie might get jealous anyway.”
Their laughter echoed softly down the corridor.
Chiara: “Thank you again for getting the address and for being the first person to go to a concert with me.”
Jae: “I’m happy I get to be that person. It feels special.”
Chiara: “It is. I think music saved me. It was always there for me, through all the rough times.”
And she began to confide in him. She talked about how she used to share her love of music with old friends, how she’d been introduced to punk music, and what it had meant to her through most of her life. She hadn’t meant to reveal so much, but with him, she felt safe.
Jae realized something: he wanted to hear her voice more often, to make her laugh, to not have to wait for secret dates anymore. He wanted to be with her, officially.
He gently brushed Chiara's cheek before quickly withdrawing.
Jae: “I’ll see you at the concert.”
Chiara’s breath caught at the unexpected touch. Her heart fluttered, and a smile spread across her lips.
Chiara: “Can’t wait.”
With one last look at each other, they turned and headed in opposite directions, each carrying a hopeful spark into the night.
Part 4/4
Near Knockturn Alley, Jae led Chiara down a narrow stairwell into a cellar pulsing with life. Inside, a crowd of witches, wizards, and a few Muggles swayed to the beat of The Weird Sisters. Graffiti-covered walls were illuminated by lanterns, casting moving shadows across the room.
Jae wore a Weird Sisters t-shirt and worn-in jeans, perfectly at ease. Chiara, in a graphic tee, plaid skirt, and combat boots, looked around with wide eyes: she was impressed, nervous, but mostly thrilled. This place was full of energy. It felt a world away from the quiet corners of Hogwarts. The music resonated in a rhythm that seemed to match the beat of Chiara’s heart.
Between songs, they found a quieter spot by the back wall.
Chiara: “I have something for you.”
She pulled a small, soft pouch from her pocket and handed it to him. Jae looked surprised. Inside the pouch, a silver bracelet with little musical notes.
Chiara: “For… for all the songs we haven’t heard together yet.”
Jae stared at it for a second, unusually quiet. Then he slipped it on, carefully.
Jae: “You’re really trying to outdo me, aren’t you?”
Chiara: “What?”
He pulled something out from his pocket: the Remembrall.
Jae: “This is for you. I wanted this night to be something you'd remember. Because I don’t need a Remembrall to remind me how I feel about you, Chiara.”
She was stunned. Her fingers lightly brushed the glass sphere before slowly reaching for his hand.
Jae: “I’ve wanted to tell you for ages. I know we’ve had our secret dates, but I don’t want it to be secret anymore. I‘d love for you to be my girlfriend. Officially.”
Chiara: “I was going to ask you the same thing.”
Before a new song could begin, Jae gently took her face in their hands and kissed her. When they pulled back, both of them were smiling and a little breathless.
Jae: “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.”
Chiara: “Me too. I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone before and...that’s scary, but also exhilarating.”
Then Jae, unable to stop himself, let out a tiny laugh and wrapped his arms around her fully, pulling her into his chest.
Chiara: “Did I say something funny? You keep looking at me with that smile.”
Jae: “You just make me really happy. Like ridiculous, floating-above-the-ground kind of happy. And because I love you too, Chiara.”
Chiara looked up at him and kissed him again. They stayed wrapped in each other’s arms for a moment while the music swirled around them like a gentle spell.

Just watched my friend @dat-silvers-girl's video on the new Durmstrang TLSQ in HPHM and it was wonderful! I loved the new character Pieter Talli, he is flawed and picked up on some of the wrong ways of looking at the world. but he's friendly, good-natured and accepting of new and better ways of appreciating how people are different and bring their own great things together to the table, to make amazing things happen. Pieter reminded me somewhat of Cato and I can see them becoming great friends. The TLSQ even felt like it naturally fits into my headcanon for Cato and Penny as a turning point for Merula in becoming a better person.

I didn't finish this TLSQ when it first came out, but I did now and what an adorably cute ending 🥺 that's just so sweet even if talking about forever (especially at that stage) seems a bit out of character for Merula
Not for Quinn though. She's been all about staying together forever from their first date 🤭 Merula thinks it's ridiculous and cute

Got back into Hogwarts Mystery and started back on my old account where I'm on year three. Got a side quest where I was introduced to a character and uh
I love him
Heartbroken over the fact I can't offically meet/befriend/date him until year five. Considering rushing through the main story lol. Until then, I'm living through the fanfiction. Thank you @petite-libellule-ao3 for turning my interest in Jae Kim into love you're such a talented writer and you're the reason why I love this king of pumpkin pastries so much.

Also, can someone tell me why the hell JC insists to make MC so obsessed with The Toadstool Tales? Because this is what HP wiki says about this book:

And then we have MC:

Every other normal child in the wizarding world: NO! Take it away from me! I hate it, I hate it so much! It makes me-- BLARGHHH! 🤢🤢🤮
MC: OMG! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! NEVER STOP READING IT TO ME! 😍😍😍
Was it really too hard for JC to check this information? Or is it in fact intentional, and there’s simply something very wrong with MC? I know The Toadstool Tales were mentioned in one of the main chapters already, but I actually saw it as a hint that Perry might be messing with his children’s memory. But now… I don’t know what to think anymore.
Why they didn’t just use The Tales of Beedle the Bard, seriously?
