replacements for a few LMS mods

If you think you saw this post yesterday, yes you did- then I made a couple edits and realized I should have done it under a readmore in case people reblogged it... So here we go again! These are the possible replacements I found for the littlemssam mods I was using, in case they help anyone else.

Caveats: - Often not a 1:1 replacement. - I only went looking for replacements for mods I was actually using, so this only covers a fraction of her catalog. - Most of these modders still use Curseforge, they're just not exclusive to it.

Additionally, if anyone knows of a replacement for any of the following: Go For A Walk, Improved Meditation Stool, Improved Practical Spells (the improvements to the spells themselves,) No Random Job Offers (I know BosseladyTV has one, but it's CF exclusive,) Purchased Items Delivered By Mail, Release All The Ghosts, or Tea For Children, please drop me an ask! I only request no Curseforge exclusives and no Zer0.

if your sims game is crashing, deleting cosmetic CC isn't the best route. gameplay mods are the biggest contributor to crashes, i'd recommend installing tmex's better exceptions to see if there's one specific mod causing. i'd also recommend using sims 4 studio to disable random on your CC since it takes more resources when townies spawn with it.

I don't have a ton of gameplay mods, the only ones I have are to give me five cas columns, change the cas backgrounds, poses in cas, and reshade. I've been thinking about trying out some mods that really change up the game but I'm worried it'll hurt my computer more 😅

Definitely gonna look into the tmex thing, just to double check. And I've been meaning to get sims 4 studio for a hot minute, knowing I can change what gets selected for townies is a big incentive to finally download it

Also, is there any way you'd consider using TMEX's new CC report feature? It won't let me link but it's easy to find with a google search. I really want the Featherington House but I am overwhelmed by all of the "all" artists and don't want to download extra stuff that's not actually in the build!

Thanks for the suggestion I haven’t heard TMEX’s new cc mod I’ll definitely take a look. I’ve been meaning to streamline my posts and linked cc to make it easier but with school and running my own business I haven’t been able to carve out the time. Maybe in the near future.

UPDATE 4: The Great CC Purge of 2024

I made the mistake of trying to use TMex's Better Exceptions again. I have no idea why but the second that is in my mod folders, my game refuses to load any lots at all. Fortunately, I have no issue using MC Command Center's exception reports, and of course, the only exceptions I'm getting are for better Exceptions. FUN.

So, since I couldn't load the lot to get through some Buy CC purging, I started working on reorganizing my CC folders so that when I'm in the part where I'm deleting stuff out of the game, I'll already have my system in place. This means this project is going to take me longer than I thought because I lost most of a day's worth of productivity.

(And to be clear, this is taking forever because I have a silly amount of CC. It wouldn't take most people as long as it's taking me, especially without neurodivergence checking in to make everything harder.)

I've been asked to get into detail re: how I'm going about this problem. I definitely will. I'll share links to guides too, just in case I don't make any sense.

On the plus side, once this is done, I will never, ever have to do this sort of thing ever again.

I just wanted to ask about your mods folder (sorry if it states somewhere on your profile these kind of questions aren’t allowed, i’m new to tumblr too and still understanding how it works). Feel free to ignore this question if it’s not allowed. I understand that by having lots of folders within the mods folder it can make the game lag. I just wanted to ask how your mods folder looks? As I want to keep mine tidy and be able to find certain cc easily. I’m also in the process of buying a pc as I am currently using a macbook and have so much cc it’s starting to not work… If you have any tips or suggestions with having a pc (if you have one yourself) and how your set up looks, I would really appreciate it. I’m an on/off player too, and completely get wanted to get things organised and tidy. It’s interesting to see how other people organise there mods for sure and it definitely helps if you find yourself running into buggy or broken pieces of cc for sure.

You’re right in saying having a lot of mods can contribute to game lag, but I would also say it depends on your system and how powerful it is. Right now I’m pretty sure my mods folder is around 40gb and needs a desperate clean up, but tbh it’s running okay! I wasn't in a position to own a desktop pc anymore so I got a laptop (asus ROG Strix gaming laptop) and I absolutely LOVE it. If I had the space for a desktop I would probably advise that over a laptop, but it really depends on personal preference and tbh I'm enjoying gaming from the sofa. My set up is literally on the sofa with my laptop on a lap tray and that's it!

It's an absolute mess and I am ashamed of it lol - in my packages I have some core folders of how I tried to organise things like Packages, Overhauls (textures and lighting mods etc) Gameplay Mods, and then any other mod that just needs to be placed into the mods folder upon installation like MCCC, Tmex TOOL, etc. In 'packages' I have things categorised into all sorts; CAS items, Clothes, Hair, Build/Buy - they also have folders within those that are more specific e.g skins, makeup, female hair, male clothes etc.

Finally updated and installed all the packs I got

I had to install Romantic Garden (free), Home Chef Hustle and For Rent (sale), I was worried about the lag. I think some of the lag was due to an outdated mod I thought I had deleted. Also found a duplicate of a mod, got rid of that and it runs a bit smoother now. Updated most of my mods (the major mods) and got a few more that need to be updated like the No EA eyelash mod.

I'm gonna have to clean out my folder though because I have a lot of stuff I don't use, fortunately Tmex's BetterBuildBuy mod has the option to add CC to a favorite folder, I'll slowly go through stuff I actually use and really want and delete everything else.

I just plopped down a few residential rentals (one is a trailer park by Jenba, I wanted a decent trailer park because most builders equate trailer parks with cesspools), I downloaded a mod by Kuttoe that modified that rent prices but I thought it was too high. A lot in Brindleton Bay that is a rental is originally $100+ per day, the mod made it $300+ a day so I deleted because that's just too much of an increase especially for rentals that are not luxurious.

Then again, Brindleton Bay is based on New England and that region is pricey lol, maybe I'll install it again to see all the price difference in my other rentals before making a final decision 🤔

Sucks because the mod is interesting, certain lots (for cheaper neighborhoods) see a decrease in price and certain traits (like good schools and celebrity homes) increase the rent price.

Oh well, haven't played Tomarang yet since I just installed, updated and repaired the game yesterday (as well as downloading the remaining mod updates I needed) but I got a map replacement by 20th Century Plumbob and it's SO PRETTY 😍 *But EA was stingy with the number of lots and neighborhoods, was 3 hoods too many? 10 lots was 1 too many? I would've been happier with 12 but 🤷🏾‍♀️

game seems to be crashing ever since i used the config override for graphicsrule to get rid of the ssao. when i load into buy mode it just crashes off and on. it worked last night i got rid of some old cc and tried to repair the game with ssao off until this morning when it crashed the same way again when i opened build mode.. wondering if it's cc or the override. game was running flawlessly with ssao off and i made sure all gshade shaders i was using had all ssao related effects off. my computer was actually not overheating like it does sometimes when i wasn't using the override. so sad edit: also using tmex better exceptions and it hasn't popped up anything regarding my cc which it has before that has caused my game to crash, which leads me to believe it's not my cc?

Today I'm sharing a modern vacation container that I've built in the Sims 4. It's designed to be perfect as a honeymoon location based around water activities. The design of it is pretty simple and modern yet cozy.

It's designed to be a rental but my library didn't want to listen so it's saved as a residential.
