What are some of the things that are ace codesd abt wwx? I don’t hear much abt and and am curious!

HIII, okay so as always, "coded" isn't really the right word since it implies authorial intent, but i often use it anyway bc who cares it's my blog. just know i don't think wwx is actually canonically supposed to be demi, it's just a headcanon from silly ol' me!

now, what makes wwx come off as SO incredibly acespec/demisexual for me is his approach to... well, relationships in his first life. he's a flirt! he likes teasing people! he likes watching them blush! he likes getting a reaction! but as lwj questions him in the xuanwu cave about, it all seems like very much a game to him, something he does without actual intention, unaware of the torment he might be putting others (lwj) through

i often see people say that wwx didn't date or that wangxian didnt get together in his first life because "they had other things going on" and "there was no time", but that's not only innacurate to post-sunshot, it genuinely comes off to me as if wwx simply has no romantic or sexual interest in anyone at all. granted, he has an eye for pretty things and people, and is VERY vocal about whenever he finds others beautiful. lwj is a common target, but far from the only one!

basically, for as loud as flirty as he can be, we know that's never really genuine. there's no second-intentions or desire in his words (hell, he had even been saving first first kiss for twenty years!!), even when it comes to lwj. and the way we know it is by comparing it all to how he acts, thinks and feels after he's ACTUALLY experiencing attraction for the first time!

but what does have to do with him being demi? and what makes, in my mind, wwx so much more demi coded than lwj for example, whose entire romantic arc is only falling in love with one person?

well, that would be that despite the way it's been romanticized, demisexuality has nothing to do with "only falling in love once". devotion isn't acespec exclusive, choosing to love a single person in your life isn't acespec exclusive. demisexuality is simply a term to describe the specific conditions a relationship might need for an asexual person to experience attraction. those conditions? a strong emotional bond (which is why so many demi ppl are described as "only being able to fall in love with your best friend")

and to me, that's what sells wwx as demisexual the most. he's had so many friends, classmates, xiongdi, and all sorts of companions in his life, but none of them were particularly... emotionally fulfilling. other than perhaps shijie, who he saw more like a mother and sister, there was no one else who he could truly lean on and trust, open up, and be vulnerable with. for many people, that's not a barrier that gets in the way of developing romantic or sexual interest in someone at all, and that's great!! (we see it with lwj himself, who spent so many of his teenage years frustrated for liking wwx and had to slowly realize why that wasn't shameful or a bad thing. lwj's attraction not only came before there was any significant bond between them, it directly blocked it from forming earlier due to lwj's constant avoidance of wwx!)

but for demi people, and for wei wuxian, it is a barrier. it's almost comical just how fast and deeply wwx fell in love with lwj once he opened up to him. it is the most visible in wwx's second life, but i do find there are inklings here and there to it in his first, especially after wwx and lwj get to spend some pleasant time together (ie. post-phoenix mountain and post-yiling date with a-yuan)

but it really does become the most obvious after the yi city arc (drunkji 2 my belovedddd). by that point, their friendship and closeness was already solid, and wwx is already crushing HARD, but isn't quite aware of it yet. it isn't until post-jinlitai stab (and his flashback to his and lwj's youth, how they fell apart and how lwj was only ever worried for him) that he starts pondering if these feelings might be... more than just fondness. and boy do i eat it UUUUUP

it wasn't until wei wuxian got that reassurance of trust and closeness that his feelings truly started to develop. i genuinely cannot imagine a wei wuxian who falls in love with someone who he genuinely believes hates him, and it's actually something i believe stopped wwx from developing deep feelings for lwj in his first life. we know how much all his rejections and their disagreements hurt wwx, and in the back of his mind, he always thought lwj disapproved of him, maybe even disliked him. there was no trust, and it smothered any small, warm little inkling of romantic love from sparking into a flame

so when wwx finds himself with a lwj who is indulgent, who wants to be close, who protects him, comforts him, listens to him, and won't ever let him fall... well, you can't blame him for daydreaming about a calm farm life by his side, or being embarrassed for acting so shameless while still pretending to be mxy, or wishing from the bottom of his heart that even if lwj doesn't love him back, he'll still stay next to him

he only ever wanted lwj to be his friend, and now he's the closest and most intimate one he's ever had. and he treats him so well... all the barriers have fallen, how could wei wuxian not fall too?

(and i didnt rly get into it but this all applies to physical attraction as well! wwx behaves and sees lwj's beauty through two different lenses in his first and second life, and wwx himself noticed the difference from when he could see lwj's nakedness back then without batting an eye VS now. it's hilarious, endearing, and EXTREMELY relatable!!)

Listening to TottalNotMark's video about the Granolah Arc... You can tell he's one of those DB fans who doesn't understand the characters well & unknowingly views regression as progression. He claims Vegeta and Goku progressed in the manga arcs involving Moro & Granolah. They both regress. But the manga has them "learning." In reality, they are learning to regress.

From what I can tell from this video and others, he is a Saiyan fan. But one of those Saiyan fans who just like "cool moment" & doesnt understand Goku nor Vegeta. Seems to be a Vegeta fan too, & many Vegeta fans dont understand Vegeta's character either.

Sad that the ones that fans look to for good reviews and information barely understand the characters and themes of DB. And others who claim to be insightful only talk about Saiyans and warp the truth in order to win over more Vegeta fans, Gohan fans, or even Goku fans at times. Meanwhile, ppl who actually understand the series are pushed to the background.

So, I was looking at your AU (So well developed I must say) and there's this question in my mind, is Emily... dead?? In your Oc universe I mean, no need to answer if you don't want to

Haha! Anon, be prepared for a rant because you have pressed my Hyperfixation Button.

Warning: this rant shows how bias I am towards a character and certain places in Amulet and contains real world opinions and issues that I am Absolutely Pissed about so I retconned a couple of things in my OC world. It addresses issues that is very much happening and if it makes you uncomfortable, well, it’s never meant to comfortable. This contains a lot of sensitive themes and frankly I am still doing research 

Technically speaking, the entire Council is gone along with Cielis (although the Surface knows it’s still alive they just ceased contact). Vigo died quite some time ago, along with several of theoriginal crew. Emily and Trellis are what remains of the Council but theresponsibilities are split because Trellis stayed on Alledia while Emily assistsin Space as a fighter (she’s not a leader). Elves age differently here, so Emilyis well in her senior years while Trellis is in his early 20s. Emily found Moze(already having a stone) abandoned as an infant in a wreckage after a fight inGhen-7, and brought him back to Alledia to raise him. Here Trellis actuallyserved as Moze’s adoptive father with Emily as his mom (but they’re not in arelationship, more of QPR because Emily is aroace while Trellis is a demi throughand through). 

He’s p reluctant at first and suspiscious where Emily gothim and if she just “stole” him without, I dunno, searching for his parents butultimately agrees because Emily has to be in Space and the safest place sheknows is Alledia and the most trustworthy person she knows is Trellis.Fortunately, he genuinely loved him and raised him as his own despite being differentspecies, even more so as from different planets. The problem is, Emily was kindof… Emotionally neglectful. The only time she ever bothers to visit Moze iswhen she wants to train him and bring him to space so he could join her in herfights but nothing beyond that. Trellis is a bit more affectionate, butconsidering he is recovering trauma from his own abusive childhood, strugglesto communicate properly with Moze and tries to feebly and reluctantlyunderstand and justify Emily’s action.

Unfortunately, this just bred resentment in Moze, as most ofthe time he’s complimented and recognized based on his skill and power, ratherthan his worth as a person. It worsens to the point that he believes that theonly reason Emily adopted him in the first place because he’s a weapon they canuse in their “war” (considering Alledia’s mandatory 500 years of peace is ineffect, Moze interprets that his parents has not yet switched out of their “atwar” mindset. And considering Emily’s actions, it’s quite hard to blame Mozefor drawing up that conclusion). The fact that Trellis is training him as astonekeeper to one day become a Guardian of the Council and didn’t evenconsider if THAT’S what Moze wants…. Moze was in a very claustrophobic anddistressing situation. When he does try to bring it up with Trellis, he’llreceive excuses. When he does try to bring it up with Emily, he gets dismissed.His lack of friends because of prioritizing his training made him deprived of agood support network (which a weakened Ikol took advantage of)

Contrary to what Moze thinks, Trellis DOES notice Moze’sdistress and worries about it, but is torn from defending his best friend ofmany decades to defending his beloved son. After he remembers how he alwaysyearned to be an adult his younger self needed, he goes off to confront Emilyfor her actions. Now I have to tell you, they both loved Moze, but they areindeed terrible parents with flaws they didn’t properly addressed, leading totheir kid suffering for it (considering Trellis has little proper adult guidanceand Emily is also emotionally neglected by Karen… It’s inevitable). That’swhere he realized Moze was just “taken” and Emily never bothered to search forhis parents. Trellis nearly broke down then and there because he realizes theySTOLE Moze. Moze is a Ghensepta (citizen of Ghen-7, it still hasn’t fallen tothe shadows yet), but he was raised Alledian, taught Alledian culture, taughtAlledian history when he already has ONE of his OWN. Moze was forced to take anidentity that wasn’t his and was absolutely isolated from his real culture andheritage. He is horribly sickened by what he and Emily has done and is outragedby it.

(Trellis’s and Emily’s relationship isn’t abusive per se, andit was genuinely a good one from the start but as they spent of the timeseparated from one another and be desensitized and cynical by their traumaticand heavy issues they encounter in their duties in either ruling or fighting…Well, it dissolved to the point that they only bothered to listen to oneanother because of past yearnings and insistence to try to stick of what they wereinstead of accepting the other as now. They still do care one another though,and consider each other family, but the former passion and harmony is long gone.Trellis do ended up going along to what Emily desires instead of protestingback in the good ol days)

Trellis demands that Moze be returned to his home planet butEmily declines, as they are his parents now and Ghen-7 will be safe no longer. Whatkind of parent that endangers their child? Trellis dissents that they are not Moze’sparents and that he doesn’t belong to Alledia and deserved to return to hisreal home and family. The argument heated to point it dissolved to a fightwhere Trellis is nearly crippled from Emily’s attack. Her own actions horrifyher, and in the gist of the moment, Trellis begs to understand, that they didMoze wrong, that he’s sick of always compensating for Emily since the start oftheir friendship, and that she at least don’t do it for him, but for Moze. ThatMoze still loves her, and she undoubtedly loves him, but they need to talk, andshe needs to listen this time. That Moze was hurting and that they failed himlike the adults in their lives failed them. Realizing the truth, Emily breaksdown as well. The thing is, Moze overheard some of their fight, andmisinterprets this as Trellis becoming sick of him, hating him, and desiring todisown him (it doesn’t help that to Moze’s unawareness, that Ikol is amplifyinghis self-hatred)

Utterly heartbroken and crushed, Moze felt sick when Trellisvisited him in his room that night, to tell him that he has to go with hismother for a while. Believing this affirms his worst fears, he promptly acceptsit (Moze prefers Trellis over Emily clearly and loathes spending time with thelatter). Trellis looks like he wants to say something and Moze was about toanticipate it, but he shakes his head, and leaves him alone. The last timeTrellis saw Moze was when he was leaving with his mother

When Emily returns, Trellis is overjoyed to greet her,although surprised they got back early but presumes that they must have quicklyresolved things.

He stops dead when Emily was there alone, with Moze’stattered blue cape.  

His whole world shatters when Emily disappears to get Mozeback when he lost control, never to return. 

Destroyed by his son’s and best friend’s death within ashort span of time, Trellis fell into depression and suicidal tendencies,abandoning his position and duties as both Guardian and King, leaving a powervacuum and a fragile peace and structure his Cabinet and other offices try tofill and stabilize. Ultimately Riva is forced to shoulder his position asGuardian. The entire world goes into a shitshow when he’s gone for 3-4 years,isolating himself in his home village with only Luger keeping him from killinghimself but it’s clear he’s lost the will to live. He only returns when Gulfenis threatened to be overthrown by a tyrant and start another war again, andonce again usurps the throne to his great reluctance and despair (he hatesruling tbh and would rather live a normal life til he dies but duty has brandedhim to the bone), becoming Alledia’s sole ruler as the only remainingstonekeeper alive (the motherstone is actually still intact but no one knowsthat except him, because they are saving the stones for a new Council once the500 years of peace passed and the cycle of discord becomes anew). However,traumatized with rollercoaster of recovery and relapses and mental healtheducation and treatment virtually next to nonexistent yet, he spent most of hisearly reign with and emotional limp. Navin, last of the original group asideTrellis and his first friends, dies. 

Fortunately, he’s REALLY good at ruling and ended upimplementing laws that revolutionizes Alledia, especially Gulfen, but strugglesto implement it in other countries, especially Windsor due to racism and many ofthe country’s authority resisting him, and thus simply left them to their owndevices if they desire to implement it or not. Thus, his power as a Guardian isreduced considerably because of it, meeting resistance and suspicion ineverything that he does, no matter how well-intentioned. Still, believing thefight is not over, Trellis the forms strategies and plans to prepare Allediawhen the shadows return, and that includes warnings of rising fascism and discord.He prioritizes public education, equal rights (be it in gender, sexuality,disability or race), and (mental, physical, and emotional) health oversecurity, intending to help Alledia recover first before preparing for a war.He also tries to unify Gulfen by solving the divide of the East and West after itscivil war, and tries to harmonize and fix the racism that divides the elves andhumans, by allowing elves to reside in more friendly cities, such as Lucien,Ippo, and Frontera. Cielis, hated by the surface due to their actions andabandonment in the war, was dropped as Windsor’s capital and acknowledgesLucien instead. It became Alledia’s first metropolis, boasting as the richestand most diverse city in the world.

With that in mind, he forms the Lufenian Green Cross (acharity volunteer organization that spreads welfare and healthy internationally,its HQ based in Ippo, Lufen’s capital), Frontera Science Prefecture (and whereGulfen’s Space Program members aka the Elvem Resistance operated in secret to assistwith the war in space), and the Alledian Auxiliary, a cohesive paramilitaryorganization that is formed by the remnants of the Elf Army and the HumanResistance (sure enough, early days were bad but over time formed a s trongbond, contributing to the Hamony movement). He’s done a whole lot more but let’smove the fuck on

Eventually, around 23 he started dating Riva (after dating afew people to test the waters. He’s dated only three people before Riva, but he’sdated both men and women, human and elf), and then marrying her after a fewyears. It was a private ceremony, but Alcyone claims it was the only day shenever saw Trellis frown and was happy throughout. Still, he never fullyrecovered from his PTSD and clinical depression and anxiety, often overworkinghimself to compensate. Although as mental health becomes more widespread andrefined, Trellis allows himself to go to therapy, but struggles to recover.Succeses are far and few in between, and healing was hard work on top of hisoverwhelming duties. Nevertheless, he actually manages a happy and healthy marriagewith Riva regardless of his deep rooted mental issues thanks to it. Riva andTrellis never never had any children, as Trellis was far too traumatized and guilt-riddenfrom what happened to Moze, believes himself to be a curse like his father towhoever his child may be. Yet feeling like he owes Riva, they eventually haveRavis when they are around their 40s (in Elf age, so 300 after the events inAmulet).

Trellis didn’t want Ravis to suffer and experience thedangers of Royal life, thus kept the existence of the child secret and keptthem both in Lucien as simple citizens, with him separating personal life and leaderwork, thus he visits from time to time. But he refused to be more active inraising Ravis in his toddler years in fear of hurting him and guilt yet treatedhim genuinely well (he is also scared of loving him, and then losing him). He onceagain experiences a relapse and isolates himself more, leading to a few suicideattempts. When Ravis is around 5, Trellis’s condition worsens, to the point heis frequently hospitalized and isolated to keep him from his self-destructiveand suicidal tendencies (it happened enough times that the staff knows him wellenough, but he’s never hurt Ravis or Riva). Fortunately, after extensivetherapy, Trellis finally chooses recovery and affirms himself that he is worthyof the good life he is trying to cultivate, now tries to be a more active andgood father to Ravis. And sure enough, he did, absolving himself of mistakes hedid with how he raised Moze (but the fact that Ravis and Moze nearly have thesame personality tells that their kind and rather timid nature comes from him)

He does have relapses from time to time, but now he’s relieving himselfof his duties more and more to leave it to his subordinates in order to spend moretime with his family. Besides, it’s just 400 years, they have a century ofpeace. It comes to the point he’s considering to abdicate his throne and dissolvethe monarchy. Unfortunately, the last gadoba (the plant Riva saved in bk 6)warns him that the shadows are returning much earlier to exact their revengeand commit the genocide they intended from the start. Knowing full well theyaren’t ready, Trellis despairs, that why now of all moments, the moment wherehe is now desiring to live did the gadoba ask him to die to sacrifice himselffor Alledia. But Trellis comes to terms to impending death and plans to facethe shadows on the new moon, which is a month later. Father Hope tells him thathis century will only end under the light of the full moon with his son in hisarms.

He does tell Riva all of this, and she despairs as well, buthe tries to reassure her. He then goes on behind the scenes to prepare Allediaonce he’s gone, all the while spending whatever time he has left with hisfamily. Ravis thought their father was feeling sad, and tries to cheer him up, andalthough he does smile, it cant seem to reach his eyes. Thus, when Trellis isaround his 50s, he suddenly disappeared from his chambers in Valcor, the dooropening to his balcony and into the red rocks bellow. They can’t find his body,and the scene was ruled as suicide.

Thus to answer, Emily is dead, and Trellis is “dead”.

Ok, so as an english person living in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I now actually really *get* the need for independence.

Here's my brief, foggy and perhaps mildly innacurate because im a bit shit with dates and names but bear with me. I was also drunk when i wrote this but it still stands

So, Scotland is one of the oldest *established* countries in europe, in 843 or 834 it became a recognised country

England, being England, kept on invading and there was a lot of dispute about territory.

You know thoose historical figures you hear about a lot, William Wallace of Braveheart fame, Robert the Bruce of Outlaw King. These guys were about in the 1300s. Contantly battling with England over their sovreinty

In 1314, the Battle of Bannockburn happens, Robert the Bruce pretty much destroys the English army near Stirling

1320, the Declaration of Arbroath is signed, stating the people of Scotland, not a king or leader, but the people theselves are sovereign, in quite a dramatic comparison so England's monarchy and heirarchical system. Yes, the Scots had kings and nobility, but the people were the most important, kings were not chosen by God

It was written in Latin, but says the following:

As long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours, that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself".

The union of the crown happened, im hhazy on it all, watch Mary Queen of Scots to get a fairly good idea. Its mostly to do with a lot of Protestant/Catholic issues, mostly fuelled by English politics, as far as i can see, but i. Could be v wrong. There was alot of hoo-ha regarding recognising Scotland's monarchy, especially involving the "Auld Alliance" with France, who England was continually picking fights with

1703: The Scottish Parliament passes the Act of Security, under which Scotland will not in future be bound to accept the same monarch as England unless Scotland is accorded completely free trade with England and the colonies.

So, the Treaty of the Union happened in 1707 (thats right, its only just over 300 years old) but lets just look at the curcumstance in which it was signed

In the years (maybe decades) leading up to this, England imposed some kind of tax or restrictions on scottish trading.

5 February 1705: The English Parliament pass the Alien Act, restricting scottish exports and trades. Big economic impact here. Many purses made a lot lighter.

So, the Scottish Parliament (made of nobles and officials, no vote for the people. Rumoura of bribery and threats abound) decide to enter into this Union. A draft is written, its voted in, the Scottish Parliament is dissolved. There was a LOT of anti-union feeling about this. Theres a rumour the Treaty was signed in an actual basement in edinburgh to avoid protests happening around the city. (I obvs dont know the truth in that)

Magically, when the scottish parliament was dissolved, restrictions were removed and scotland was able to trade freely as part of the "United Kingdom of Great Britain"

Now, theres a king, exiled, James, or "the Pretender", hanging in France, decides to rally troops from there and head back to try and sort a Jacobite uprising. This, in 1708, failed.

1715 sees another Jacobite uprising. Defeated

1720 Spain tries to. Help another Jacobite uprising. Defeated.

Honestly, just keep on going through rinse and repeat until the big one.

You all know Bonnie Prince Charlie and the 1745 Jacobite uprising and the absolute massacre of Culloden, especially if youve followed the Outlander series.

This was the last big rebellion. And I'll tell you for why.

Scottish culture was all but outlawed. Kilts, Tartan, Pipes, Gaelic, all punishable offenses. The Highland clearances happened (basically rich people owned the land, decided it was gonna make them more money to feed cattle than people and moved villages and townspeople to the most barren areas, on the brink of survival. A lot of folk were destitute, some left in ships bound for the US willingly , many were sent as punishment for even minor crimes)

Now, im not saying the Scots were angels and innocents subjected to English rule, a good few profited highly from Slave Trade and many oof Glasgow and Edinburgh's city statues are of questionable admirability.

But this Union of Equals is anything but.

vianne is the story’s villainess- one barely seen, only lightly interfering with the mc’s life. she is seen later on in the story, said to be the mastermind of all the misfortune that befalls the mc.

she comes from a mildly popular otome game- a really typical one. some people theorize that there’s more to it- something deeper than what the developers showed them. of course, the group who made it disbanded, so no one really knows...

no one until vianne, two years before her apperant destruction, recieves a book on her 15th birthday.

the book is full of details from the game she played avidly before- a game she only hazily remembers. it’s a character book, full of details from the story, though she notices some of the details are innacurate.

what catches her eye however is the final page of the book.

it’s a print out of a screenshot from a website. a forum website to be specific. it’s a post that someone made in vianne’s defense and arguing about her character arc.

it takes only little time for vianne to realize that post was made by her in her past life! 

and... y’know, typical villainess stuff.

i sort of wanted to make it that its like, an otome but way gayer. vianne is trans, the prince she’s engaged to is gay, the mc is a trans guy and can end up together with the prince. then there’s other characters but i haven’t thought too much on them. you can date any gender though is what i want to say. or you can leave her single. i don’t want romance to be end game here.

i want it to be a stat building game similar to most otomes!!! was going to say i don’t think most people would like it but also i mean tbh. no one’s paying me to make this so i can make it a stat builder.

also i’m sort of thinking that... death endings are frequent? and it’s much more hinted that... despite vianne’s knowledge of her ‘typical’ death flags, somehow she gets eliminated early on when she tries to avoid them...

i kind of want it to be the kind of game you have to play again to find the truth but maybe it’d be too infuriating to keep dying??? i want. persistent save file on it somewhere though

anyways as for the prince and vianne, i think their marriage was more of one of convience. the prince doesn’t want any female marriage partners, especially not any who genuinley like him..... but vianne straight up doesn’t care and knows he needs a fiance for his parents’ sake.

both of them are mutually agreed that both of them are free to pursue other people, so as long as the people are aware of their arrangement. they’re also mlm and wlw solidarity.

this is also one of the things vianne notices strange about the book as well- she knows the prince is gay and she has no feelings for him, so why would she be so adamant about getting in the heroine’s way..?

the mc and vianne however are friends. i stand by this. vianne helps mc realize they’re trans.

Yo Sailor Moon S episode 12 (101) was great! It’s Usagi’s birthday, which means she’s finally 15, and also it’s like the worst birthday ever because she ends up slapping Mamoru since he didn’t know it was her birthday, which is a big oof move, but when she realises that that was a big oof move and reconciles with him and also gets a birthday present from him, it turns out it was a Daimohn, and Usagi actually turns out to have the first Talisman! Kinda guessed she’d have one but hey. Anyway Usagi’s brooch is knocked out of her hand so she doesn’t even get the chance to transform, also the enemy figures out who she is, and none of the other Sailor Soldiers show up in time to help her either. Instead, it’s all on Tuxedo Mask for most of the episode to defend her, and this is probably the most we’ve seen of him in quite a while, which is cool I appreciate that. Meanwhile Uranus and Neptune, particularly Uranus who has grown to like Usagi a fair bit, are now faced with the reality of what their commitment to sacrifices actually entails, and I mean, we had to get there eventually. Curiously they haven’t seemed to realise that Usagi is Sailor Moon yet even though they’re literally watching Kaorinite taunting Usagi about it, but like, they’ll find out eventually I guess. We’ll have to wait to see this through because this episode actually ends on a cliffhanger, it’s not just your typical 20 minute self-contained Sailor Moon story. I’m pretty excited to see where this goes.

I was so excited in fact, that I actually watched episode 13 (102) as well, putting me ahead of schedule once more. I think that’s 3 from the end of Sailor Moon, 1 from the end of R, and now this, which puts me 5 episodes ahead, but I’mma just keep acting like I’m on normal pace and watching as many episodes as days I missed when that happens. Anyway, this episode was great, one of my favourite episodes of the whole show actually, a praise usually reserved for Ami episodes. First of all it turns out Usagi’s not actually got a Talisman, her heart is just super pure so her Crystal glimmers like mad. This is surprising actually, what with her being the titular protagonist I kind of expected her to have one. She doesn’t though, so +1 for unpredictability. She’s saved close to the start of this episode by the other Sailor Soldiers appearing, though the Daimohn and Kaorinite both remain undefeated, and an Usagi determined to save Mamoru drives off with Haruka and Michiru to Tokyo Tower for a confrontation. Along the way they have a cool conversation about sacrifices and stuff which in Usagi’s mind reinforces that Haruka and Michiru are Uranus and Neptune, but also later on in the episode kind of encourages Haruka to save the Sailor Soldiers when she didn’t necessarily need to and I mean I’m cutting a bit out but that was really cool. In the process of saving them Haruka actually destroys Kaorinite, who just tanked a Sailor Planet Attack from Usagi and the gang, and now that she’s gone all I can say about Kaorinite is that she was fine, like I liked her. Her replacement is called Yujial and she has glasses. We’ll see what she’s like soon enough. This episode also has Jupiter use Supreme Thunder, with a completely new animation (or maybe recycled from the R movie and I forgot?), and that was a surprise, cool to see it again though. But actually, what makes this episode one of my favourites other than the epic confrontation atop Tokyo Tower with development for Haruka and Michiru as they pursue their goal, was actually something Minako does. In order to protect Usagi’s identity as Sailor Moon, which is even revealed to Haruka and Michiru in this episode, Minako actually disguises as Sailor Moon, which was just hilarious. Adopting such iconic Sailor Moon moves as “Love Me Moon Chain” and also having completely innacurate hair was just, really funny, but hey it fools Haruka and Michiru and Kaorinite into thinking Usagi isn’t Sailor Moon so, yeah. What’s really curious about Minako doing this is that she actually tells Usagi that she borrowed the transforming pen from Luna in order to disguise as Sailor Moon. This is extremely interesting, because first of all it suggests that Usagi just doesn’t bother carrying the transforming pen with her anymore for whatever reason, and Luna keeps a hold of it, because the only alternative is that more than one transforming pen exists but then why would Minako borrow one from Luna when surely Luna would just give one to everyone. That’s curious. Secondly is the fact that Luna and Artemis actually hold Venus back before they raid Tokyo Tower and tell her she’s the only one capable of doing the transformation. Given that Usagi’s hair colour never changed for any transformation and Minako’s doesn’t for this one either, though her hair is still blonde enough to fool people, I guess her being the only one capable of doing it is the most explicit confirmation we have so far that the transforming pen can’t change hair colours. It could also be because she’s the most similar to Usagi in terms of how she composes herself though, or also that she’s already used to disguising herself since she used to go around as Sailor V, but hey like cool. Also the fact that Minako uses the transforming pen at all suggests that all of the Sailor Soldiers can use it, and that’s just cool to think about. Anyway yeah this episode was great and Minako pretending to be Sailor Moon is one of my favourite things in the entire show.

What do you guys think about the names Dustin and Darcy for my protagonists in Let's Go?

Cos i really wanted to play the co op mode thing by myself, just so i can pretend this role in the plot is filled by two siblings and have a bit of fun roleplaying that. But i dunno yet how the co-op works and whether you'd be able to customize the avatar of the second player or if its just the default trainer? Or can you only play co-op if you have two separate games? Im planning to buy the other version anyway once i get more money, so it could be fun to play my first version with sibling one and then the second playthru is sibling two's turn to shine!

Oh and the whole reason i wanted to do this is cos i wanna try out the customization features to make some ocs now that there's no competitive online stuff unless you pay a subscription fee (LOL NO THANKS). Like..i always felt like i HAD to make my character me in xy/sumo/usum, otherwise its like lying online? But of course i cant actually make me because theres no nonbinary option or even remotely ambiguous outfits for either gender. And you cant have wild hair colours while i dye my hair 24/7 irl lol. Its silly cos like 95% of the gym leaders and other characters ingame have anime hair colours yet the player has to be normal? So yeah i cpuldnt really enjoy making this innacurate defanged version of myself yet i didnt feel like i was allowed to just make up a new character either. Closest i could do was give myself white hair like my old trainersona when i was 12, lol. I mean i guess thats my 'real hair colour' underneath the dye right now, if you think about it that way?

Yeah! I think sibling trainers could be a good and unique way to handle a rival! Like having them be your sibling already establishes that rivalry. But it can be a soft and nice rivalry! I wanna go with that fun version rather than the full on angry exaggerated sibling rivalries you often see in kids media. Like i know that some people legit dont get on with their siblings and some people can even have a very gary esque full on rivalry thats sorta 'love to hate' or like..tsundere pretending you hate them. But personally i never had experience with that, i can never relate to those 'tfw u hate ur sibling and theyre always an asshole but lolll u love them anyway' posts. I only got to live with my little sister for a little while due to the catastrophe of abusive parenthood that was my childhood, and i lost contact with her forever when she was very young so i doubt she'd even remember me. *sigh* But like i don't think i only love her so much because i miss her! People say newborns and toddlers are the most bratty so like you'd think if i was gonna ever find her 'annoying' i would have done it back then. I was always just mega proud of her and whenever she'd be 'bratty' i'd be cheering her on and trying to protect her from mom. And when she'd try and pull pranks on me or practise play-fighting or whatever i was just like 'lol thats legit funny' and taking play-falls so she felt better about herself. Like we didnt have much power in that household so i felt like encouraging her pretending to be a wrestler would help her feel like she had some sort of control in some part of her life i guess? And just i wished i was allowed to roughhouse and run around and be all 'unladylike' and just enjoy BEING A KID when i was a kid, yknow? I always had legit fun being with her and legit enjoyed it and was legit proud and legit never annoyed. I just dont understand 'yeah she's annoying but i love her anyway'. I was only ever her rival as a play-rival to help encourage her to like.. Enjoy the things she enjoyed. Feel like someone else cared. I only ever acted like 'ha ha baby stuff yeah sure i hate hanging out with my sister" cos i thought i was SUPPOSED TO. I always felt so guilty doing it and so dissappointed cos id rather hang out with her than be a boring stereotypical teen tbh. I dunno, maybe this isnt typical for siblings and its just a sign of how badly we were raised? I was just real fuckin lonely and absolutely loved having a family member who loved me for the first time since my grandma died. Same reason i always used to act all 'i am too cool i totally am not soft for my lil sister' around my lil sister's dad. I really wanted him to love me too! I used to say swear words at him cos i thougjt he would thibk i was Cool And Adult?? I have soooo many cringe moments from that phase of my childhood. Man it hurts to think that i never actually did get to become that positive influence that protected my sister from my mum and let her know she was loved. Cos i was sent to live with my dad when she was like 5ish? And never saw her again and now im too scared to try and reach out to her again because 1: she probably doesnt even remember me, 2: theres a chance she believes my mum saying i was some horrible asshole who abandoned the family, 3: even bigger chance that contacting her could mean my mum finding me again and big fuckin risk of further abuse. Plus the awkwardness of introducing my trans self when she'd remember me as her sister and all. Sigh! All i can do is hope that her cool dad eventually got custody of her, and that he didnt turn out to be a secret bastard like when i met my own dad. He seemed good, but then again i was just a lil kid and my dad seemed good at first. Sighhhhhh...

Anyway the point is that whenever i write siblings i'd rather write 100% unapologetic super loving love cos its wish fullfillment for me. This is also why in/cest shipping is a massive beserk button for me, good wholesome family relationships are REAL FUCKIN IMPORTANT and how DARE you corrupt that shit! Some people would fuckin KILL to have that wholesome family!!

Anyway lol thats why i'd like a Wholesome Rivalry for these sibling ocs! Like they challenge each other to contests along the way just for fun, and they react all 'wow my sis is the BEST' when you beat them, so hard feelings at all. And you dont JUST do rival stuff but also sometimes just hang out and have fun cos you missed each other. And if anyone threatens your sibling then THAT is the only time you see the Serious Sibling Power! Rival moments: ha ha lol bet ya cant beat me ooo im a scary villain LOL I CANT KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE HAHA! Giovanni punches your brother: *stony cold death glare from hell as tricksy prank sis turns into an unstoppable vengeance engine* Oh, but also the only other time they'd be serious is in their final battle together! Like most of the 'rivalry' is just competing to make the adventure fun and to help each other get stronger. But if sis/bro ever actually legit said they really want to fight to find out who's the best, and its like..important to help their self confidence, then i think bro/sis would respect that and go all out. Taking a fall and letting them win would be the most disrespectful thing of all! Oh, but i do think there would be one kind of battle like that during the story? Like in one of the more low stakes faux-rival fights the sibling actually does try and let you win, and the challenge is to try and lose against all odds. High stakes super failure battle!!! Imagine the evil team in the background like 'wtf' as these two run the most aggressively slow race of all time! XD

Oh and i kinda thought about different personalities for the two of them based on who you pick? Like i did like that aspect about brendan/may in RSE compared to other 'unpicked option becomes rival' characters in later games that didnt even have one personality let alone two. It just sucks that the personalities they decided to give them were 'female rival is super self concious and thinks youre better than her because youre a boy' and 'male rival is super ego and thinks he's better than you because he's a boy'. Boooo!

So instead of that the personalities i was thinking for these two would be less sexist lol. Male sibling Dustin is basically Wally so far? I need to develop him a bit more to make him a bit distinct, i mean its not like every single shy dude is identical. I'm thinking maybe mix him with all the wasted potential in Brendan? Like in the game they slightly hint at him having the ONE non stereotypical trait of liking cute teddy bears, and that made me think about how much better his whole plot would have been if it actually criticized his sexism and said that he only behaves that way cos he's overcompensating for being bullied for being 'feminine', yknow? And then in the manga they actually DO write him as super feminine, and even as a contest star who loves fashion and dressing up his pokemon! But then GAHHH they present it as some sort of fuckin 'character flaw', like he's shown to be selfish and superficial because of it. And the backstory is that him and the female protagonist used to be 'normal' until a traumatic event. Brendan was a Natural Fighting Prodigy until he saved his female friend from a wild pokemon and was so traumatized that he never wanted to fight again, while she wanted to learn to fight so she'd never need to be protected again. But this is not only presented as Wrong Ways To Be Gender but also like.. Fighting their natural instinct which still comes through?? Like male protag hasnt fought in YEARS yet whenever he's forced to fight he's just magically better at it than female protag who's been practising all these years to become his equal. Ha ha silly girl you can never achieve that! All you get is this patronizing 'well if you just tryyyyy girly things im sure you'll like it' plot and then you get rescued by him in the end because OF COURSE you do. Sigh! I cant believe they made me hate that pairing even more than the games did! So yeah i dont really wanna write Dustin as a jerkass who's secretly got synpathetic motives of internalized homophobia/sexism, cos i feel thats a plot very specific to my perceptuons of Brendan and id basically just have to make Dustin a clone of him and he wouldnt be able to shine on his own merits. Instead i'm just thinking of writing him as a 100% sensitive soul, and he still faces predjudice for not being that bigoted idea of an 'ideal man' but really the fact he doesnt bow down to their demands proves that he's the bravest person here.

And then I'm thinking maybe the female sibling Darcy is the older one and is a bit "gary ish"? Like eitjer way you still have a friendly and loving siblingness, but she's a bit more of a sass who is tsundere about admitting she loves her bro. But i dont think she's the cold or grumpy sort of tsundere, more like a trickstery tomboy? Bombastic loki jock sis! She can only be a bit abrasive with her bro cos she wants to teach him to be tough even when she's not there to protect him. But sometimes she can mess it up and make him feel like he has to change his personality in order to be tough, rather than letting him know she supports him in being "unmasculine" and just wants to help him find the confidence to stand up to people who bully him for it. Like she feels like she is 'weaker' than him in the sense that she worries too much about what people will think if she expresses her real emotions, yknow? Like theyre both suffering from toxic masculinity! He's suffering from the standard form where men who are too 'soft' are beaten down into that mould. Ans she's suffering from the problem where 'masculine' girls feel like they have to be '100% masculine' in order to be allowed to be themselves at all. Like back when i was a kid and before i came out as trans i always used to try and pretend to like sports ans like..cliche macho shit where you Cant Admit You Care About Your Friends and also i wasnt allowed to like ANY feminine things at all. I had to either follow the stereotype of femininity entirely or follow the opposite stereotype, i wasnt allowed to just reject stereotypes and like what i actually like. So yeah me realizing i wasnt really a girl has led to me embracing more 'girly' things than back when i thought i was one! So i think Darcy would have a similar arc but like..the cis equivelant? Just finds people who arent such judgmental pricks and stops having to conform to either of those stereotypes in order to keep fake friends who dont really give a shit about her. She can have a plot about both forced feminine and masculine stereotypes being equally limiting, rather than that shitty 'being masculine is a prison uwu every woman will be happier embracing her love of makeup' shit. That dominant narrative just made me feel like i was somehow wrong about myself whenever i didnt like 100% Of Sports All The Time, i must be somehow girly if i liked even ONE girly thing yet i needed hundreds of proofs if i wanted to be masculine. And like i wasnt just allowed to be neither! I wasnt allowed to like parts of both! I wasnt allowed to BE GODDAMN TRANS!!! So yeah i dunno if i'd go whole hog and make this character a trans man or a nonbinary person tho? I think she's just actually a cis girl who happens to be sporty and brash and likes a lot of 'masculine' fashion and hobbies. And she's just been made to feel self concious about it, as if she cant possibly REALLY be that unless she likes Every Single Boy Thing and wins at Every Single Challenge. Does anyone else remember that shit too? The girls have to win Every sports game against the boys in order to be 'one of the boys' but if you lose even one of them it somehow proves that you're inferior. Even though the boys lost 50 billion games to you and that doesnt prove theyre inferior! Like man she has sooooo many 'gary rivals' in her school life, thats why she loves going on this adventure with a kind brother rival who actually respects her! So her resolution would just be her staying the same but being more confident about it and saying fuk u to those fake friends. Same as her brother's plot, just they both face different specifics to the way this sexism affects them, yknow?

Oh but yeah when i did finally learn about LGBT stuff and realize i was trans it was Big Amazing cos even in the rare stories about Its Okay To Be Yourself it still left me feeling weirdly empty when the girl decides that yes she does wanna be a girl in the end. So i get that these plots might come off as queerbaiting if i write them badly? I need to make sure to make it clear that these characters 100% want to be seen as this gender and its just other people being fuckfaces and trying to define what their gender has to mean. I think maybe i'll try and mitigate this potential misunderstanding by adding different sorts of lgbt content. And, well, also cos i just want lgbt content in all of my stories because i am lgbt, of course! I'm 100% sure that Darcy is gay, and i think also maybe possibly Dustin is trans? Like, his plot is about being mocked for being a 'feminine' boy, but its also even more personal for him because he's a trans boy and he feels like he needs to change his personality in order to pass/he isnt really real because his personality doesnt fit the stereotypical image of a man. Like if you'd looked at the two of them back when they were identical twins, you probably would have expected Darcy to end up being trans if you were the sort of person who believes those basic ass stereotypes about 'boys who play with barbies and girls who play with trucks'. Or i mean maybe its the other way around and Darcy is a trans girl who still has a 'masculine' personality according to stereotypes? Or even both of them are trans and both face being told that they arent real because they dont fit the perfect stereotype of a trans person according to cis perceptions? Or maybe i'm overcomplicating things with all of this and it'd just muddy the message i guess. I might just keep it to them both being cis but also both of them like girls. And i can always apply my trans and other LGBT headcanons to other characters along their adventure.

Let’s start with the DR girls, shall we ? No spoilers for the new game, even if you can easily draw your own conclusions since I think it pretty much follows this trend.

I don’t think it will surprise anyone, but I’m tired. I’m not going to lie, I was so enthusiastic about the female characters in Dr1. I think my first post about Dr is how amazing Kyoko is as a character. I love how the game tackles the issues of genders and expectations ( Sakura considered as a ‘monster’ because of her appearance when she is the sweetest person in the world, Aoi the airhead who becomes such amazing and sensible character in chapter 4, Celes who plays the victims but turns out to be a cold blooded murderer, Sayaka who has ‘love interest’ stickers plastered all round her and ends up by betraying our hero, and of course, Junko and Mukuro ). It wasn’t perfect, of course it wasn’t, but the sole fact that the game plays with our expectations was amazing.

After Dr1, the game decided that it didn’t care by embracing every sexist clichés it could get its hands on, and it tires me. I love Sdr2, okay, I love it, but I can love it and realize that female characters are treated like shit. It’s not so much that they are bad characters, but they are mostly brushed aside, they are just there, barely developped if you don’t go for their FTE. I miss Kyoko’s cleverness, I miss Celes’ ruthlessness, I miss Sakura’s strenght, I miss Aoi’s sensibility, I even miss Sayaka’s false perfection. I miss how the writing was just as good for the girls as it was for the boys.

Sdr2 sees a muliplication of shallow love stories, distateful fanservice scenes, girl’s storylines revolving around a boy’s one. There is a cruel lack of agenda for the girls in Sdr2 and you can even see that in the murders where they never take the initiative.

Dr3 is even worse by putting every ( main ) girls in two categories : the pure, nice girl who dies for the sake of a boy’s developement like Chisa, Nanami or Kyoko, and the evil women who do Bad Things like Junko and Ruruka who needs to end up alone, killed in atrocious way. Beyond that, women are shown as being dependant on men ( Chisa’s main motivation is Munataka, Nanami’s role for three episodes is to sigh Hinata’s name while making a sad face, Kyoko sacrifices herself because Naegi is the most important thing for her, Ruruka cannot survive after killing her boyfriend and she hates herself so much that she kills herself in the most horrifying way. ). Yeah, I’m salty.

Now that I’m done with bitching about whatever I wanted to bitch , let’s go for the Komahina part, and I’m honestly not sure what to say about them, haha. I can talk about them in chapter 1, maybe, because it’s a funny relationship these two have and it’s never discussed that much ( I can understand it ) besides the ‘well, Komaeda seems normal at that point and him and Hinata are friends’ which is… innacurate, in my books.

The relationship they have in chapter 1 is funny because it’s mutually parasistic and yes, I’m going to explain. On the right we have Hinata, who is trying so hard to feel adequate in a very weird situation and while probably still having this gnawing feeling that he isn’t in his place with everyone else ( probably strenghtened by the fact that he can’t remember his talent ) and is kinda acting like a jerk toward everyone to reassure himself. On the left we have Komaeda who is only too happy to be of help to a Hinata, who has probably such extraordinary talent ( and isn’t he curious about what it is ? )  who actually needs his help while not showing any interest in an emotional bond.

I wouldn’t say this bond is unhealthy, and it’s functionnal and it definitely pushes them into the role they carefully crafted for themselve. It’s beautiful, in a way, and I really enjoy it, even though it’s doomed to not last, because, surprise, surprise, Komaeda is actually not there to help Hinata lying to himself. He is going to punch you with the truth, Hinata,

Which is also the ‘shock’ Hinata has during the trial. I don’t think we can equate his feelings to Naegi’s feelings when faced with Maizono’s betrayal. Naegi and Maizono had formed an emotional bond in a few days, helped by the fact that they knew each others in Middle school, by Naegi’s crush on Maizono and… yeah, Naegi being a good boy who thinks the best of people, haha. I think Komaeda’s betrayal is a lot more personal for Hinata and is basically him pushing Hinata’s face in the truth, saying ‘ah, you thought I was going to be your nice assistant for the whole game, believing that people can do no wrong and taking generally the backseat to let you shine since you deserve it so much ? Hope again, looser’.

Okay, that’s an exageration, but you get my point. And it also explains why Naegi forgives Sayaka so easily while Hinata spends the whole game trying to avoid Komaeda because if there is one think Hinata doesn’t want, it’s to face the truth.

So.. let's talk about sex. You know it, you love it. Whatever your sexual habits may be, sex is an important part of life.

Having sex is intimate and you should be able to trust the person you’re having sex with. Your partner should be able to keep you safe and protect you from diseases.

But, how would you feel if it turned out that your partner knew nothing about how to protect him or herself from diseases or how to prevent unwanted pregnancy?

As scary as it may sound, with our country's’ status-quo for teaching sexual education, more and more teens do not know how to protect themselves or their partners when having sex.

The cause for this lack of education is because of widespread abstinence-only classes all over the nation.  

The fundamental goals of abstinence-only classes are to prevent teen pregnancy,  the spread of STD’s, and onset of sexual activity through the teaching of abstinence before marriage.

Before I can go into the negative consequences of abstinence-only education we have to go back and look at the history of sex ed in our country.

In the United States sexual education began as early as 1910. However, these classes were very basic and they emphasized the idea of abstinence into the mind of each student. This outdated form of sex ed continued until around the 1960’s.

People began to adopt free love and free expression in the sixties. This brought new and needed views about sex and created a new form of sexual education that aimed to replace abstinence-only.

This new form of sexual education was called comprehensive sex ed. Comprehensive classes teaches students about proper protection including uses of contraceptives.

Support for comprehensive classes became widespread through the 60’s and 70’s. In fact, according to Bill McCarthy there was “a substantial popular and political support for comprehensive sex education programs”. Unfortunately this support abruptly ended in the 1980’s.

In 1981 Congress passed a bill called the Chastity Act. This was the first time in our history that the federal government supported an abstinence-only education bill. The bill vowed the set aside $100-$135 million every year to schools who teach abstinence-only education to students.

I get it. You’re wondering, why this bill is so harmful to our society?

It’s because in order to receive funding, when teaching an abstinence class teachers have to follow a set of eight guidelines produced by the Chastity Act. These guidelines are psychologically dangerous to students because they state harmful, incorrect facts. According to Kay Perrin one guideline tells teachers to teach that bearing children out-of-wedlock is likely to have harmful consequences for the child, the child’s parent, and society. This is extremely offensive and would cause harm many student in the classroom. Since a lot of children in our country have single parents, if a child of single parents heard this lecture it would likely have lasting consequences and make the child feel inadequate and unloved.

As if these harmful guidelines weren’t enough to make you want to throw abstinence education in the past forever, abstinence-only classes also teach students innacurate information.

In one abstinence-only program called “Why kNOw Abstinence Education”, which by the way is government funded,  teachers tell their students that “the condom has a 14% failure rate in preventing pregnancy”.

However, this claim is completely false. The 14% failure rate of condoms only applies to users who put the condom on in the middle of intercourse, rip the package with their teeth, or only use a condom every other time they have sex.

Students should have access to correct information about contraception so they can feel comfortable with potentially having sex instead of being scared by false facts that are meant to make sex seem scary.

Before going any further, I want to make one thing clear. The idea of abstinence itself is not harmful to students. In fact I believe that it is healthy for students to be taught about abstinence as an option.

Abstinence classes need to be replaced not because of what they teach, but because of what they don’t teach.

Since abstinence classes do not teach students anything about contraception they are left in the dark about how to prevent diseases and pregnancy.

This lack of knowledge can be seen empirically when looking at data about STD’s and pregnancy throughout our country.

For example, not only does the United States have the highest rates of teen pregnancy in the developed world, but the United States also has the highest rates of STD’s in the developed world. By age 25 one in two people in the United States will have or have had some type of STD. On the other hand, in a more progressive country like the Netherlands that teaches comprehensive classes, only 17% of their entire population has or has had an STD according to the World Health Organization.

Also, in Mississippi, the state with the strictest abstinence-education laws, the teen pregnancy rate is the highest in the country at 60% more than the national average. On the other hand, Vermont has adopted comprehensive education classes and they are the state with the lowest rate of teen pregnancy.

To show how abstinence-only classes do a disservice to students by not properly educating them about contraception and reproduction, I invited my friend Kolton in so he could demonstrate his knowledge about sexual education. Kolton went to a private Catholic school where abstinence-only education was taught. To test Kolton's knowledge I have compiled a list of five basic questions that every male and female should know about sex. Lets see how he does.

Dylan: “Hi Kolton! Welcome, Thank you for coming.”

Kolton: “Thank you for having me.”

Dylan: “Okay so, my first question to you is: how many days can live sperm stay in the vagina?”

Kolton: “Maybe one or two.”

Dylan: “You’re kind of correct. Live sperm can actually live in the vagina for two to five days. Meaning, even days after a woman has had sex she can still get pregnant.”

Kolton: “Oh wow okay”

Dylan: “Alright, next question. Can a woman get pregnant while on her period?”

Kolton: “No she can not.”

Dylan: “Actually, even though it is pretty rare a woman can get pregnant on her period.”

Kolton: “Wow I had no idea.”

Dylan:  “Question three. What type of lube causes condoms to break?”

Kolton: “I would have to say.. Water based lubrication.”

Dylan: “That is incorrect, you’re actually supposed to use water based lubricant. It is actually oil based lube that causes condoms to break. Okay Question number four. Do you know the difference between a bacterial STD and a viral STD?”

Kolton: “I have no idea.”

Dylan: “Well, a viral STD is something like herpes or AIDs that you have your whole life, but a bacterial STD is curable or treatable.”

“Kolton: Interesting.”

“Dylan: Alright! Last Question. If a woman decides to take a Plan B pill, how many days does she have to take it before it becomes ineffective?”

Kolton: “She only has one day to take it.”

Dylan: “Actually she hasn five days”

Kolton: “Oh wow”

Dylan: “Yes. Well, I am sorry you didn’t do better, but thank you for coming!”

Kolton: “Thank you for having me, I had a lot of fun.”

As you just heard, Kolton is clearly uneducated when it comes to sexual education. This lack of education is due to the abstinence-only classes he took in private school.

If Kolton’s interview did not do enough to show the ineffectiveness of abstinence programs, recently the National Campaign to Prevent Pregnancy has run several tests to compare abstinence-only classes to comprehensive classes.

The tests found that none of the abstinence-only programs showed any changes in participants onset of sex, frequency of sex, number of partners, and protection like condoms used. On the other hand, when students took a comprehensive class they had sex later in life and with less partners. This proves that comprehensive classes are better because they helped students make healthy choices.

It is clear that abstinence-only classes are not sustainable for our nation because they do not teach students how to protect themselves from diseases or pregnancy and as a result our nation has some of the worst disease and pregnancy rates in the world. If this is the case, why are abstinence-only classes still so widespread?

Abstinence-classes are still so common in the country because of federal funding. Currently our Congress in over 90% Protestant Catholic. Abstinence is a key part of the protestant religion. This religion has even started several abstinence programs of its own aimed at promoting abstinence in teens.

Most of the Catholic Congressmen constituents are also catholic meaning they too hold abstinence in a high regard. Since Congressmen represent their constituents, they will continue to support abstinence programs to keep voters happy. This is a fact that will not change in our country any time soon

In the United States, schools are hugely underfunded and they are usually eager to receive any type of federal funding. It is likely very appealing for a school to be able to receive funding for the sole reason of teaching one topic over another. If a school decided to make the change to a comprehensive sex ed class they would lose significant funding and this would cause budget cuts.

As far as the future goes, comprehensive education will likely never become widespread because it just can not compete with federal money. However, there is one tiny glimmer of hope for future generations.

A new form of sexual education called abstinence-plus has been created and it may start to gain traction through grass root parental organizations. Abstinence-plus focuses on abstinence and teaches students that it is still the best option but it also teaches students about contraception and protection. Since abstinence-plus still focuses on abstinence it will be interesting to see if the federal government will adopt this method in the future.

But for now, all we have is abstinence education and it's our job to make more and more people see how flawed the system is so they will want to change it.

Why do you say that the Dragon Ball Super manga makes the DB characters be so OOC? And while we're on the subject, what do you think of the DBS manga as a whole?

Gosh... Where to begin?

Toyo's Bardock is not like Toriyama's nor Toei's Bardock. Toriyama's Bardock from the DBS anime continuity's DBS: Broly says that he wants to save/protect something for once and thats when he saves Goku. Toyo's Bardock is not part of the anime continuity. And his Bardock saves other people before he saves Goku. Fans cry about how Toriyama's Bardock was a "nice guy" for saving his son and caring about his wife, but they say nothing about Z Bardock caring for his crew and then caring for his son. But Toyo's Bardock is truly where the "nice guy" idea can be apllied. Toyo doesn't undsrstand the characters.

Toyo's Goku wants to be more Saiyan and acts like he doesn't understand Saiyan pride, meanwhile Toroyama & Toei's DBS Goku views himself as an Earthling but accepts his Saiyan side as well as understands what Saiyan pride is.

Toyo's Vegeta overly obsessed with "Kakarot" to the point he cares more about defeating Goku than he cares about protecting his family. He gets transformations handed to him; Super Saiyan Blue Evolution & the out of nowhere Ultra Ego. Vegeta copies everything Goku does even with naming Ultra Ego after Ultra Instinct & has never "went down his own path" as so many fans claim. He never directly speaks to present Trunks ever in the manga. DBS anime Vegeta is written far better. Toyo's Vegeta is just becoming an edgy Goku clone. And not a well written clone.

Toyo's Gohan trains like Vegeta by going in the Gravity Room. That's not Gohan. He trains like how his father & Piccolo trained him. The way his ultimate for works contradicts how it was originally established; Elder Kai says turn it on like SSJ, but Toyo's Gohan just doesn't transform at all and has that power. The DBS anime does it correctly in having Gohan transform into that power.

Toyo's Piccolo is an ignorant idiot who claimed that Vegeta never underestimated his opponents when that is literally what Vegeta does in almost every major fight we've seen him in.

Toyo's Android 17 is cold, dismissive and didn't develop like the DBS anime version did. Manga 17's power increase is said to be almost SSB level from little to no training. An a$$pull. Meanwhile anime 17 is not SSB level and even says Freeza's power is amazing. Anime 17 keeps up in the ToP mostly due to infinate stamina and being able to fight at max power without getting tired. I won't even talk about the Pseudo Cell Jrs stuff. Link for that here.

Toyo's Android 18 cold and hateful towards Krillin (while the anime made her loving towards Krillin). Stupid at times too. One thing that applies for both Toyo's 17 & 18 is when they say they have no life energy. That makes zero sense due to them being living beings. If they are living, they have life energy. If 17 & 18 can contribute to the Genki Dama, they have life energy. Toyo doesn't understand these characters. He makes 18 behave like an emotionless robot & as if she is literally a machine because he says she has no life energy. Did Toyo watch the Funimationextremely terrible & innacurate Funimation DUB of GT where Krillin says that 17 hated hated Gero for giving him human emotions? Because Toyo writes 17 & 18 as if they are robots given a little bit of human emotion.

Toyo's Krillin is always disrespected. Toyo calls him ugly, cowardly, weak, useless, & has Goku say to Krillin that he is small & only good for running away, ect. And Krillin's wife is mean towards him. (Seems like Toyo took a note from GT on how to write Krillin & 18 terribly.) Krillin has always been brave and fights to save his friends; saved Gohan, Vegeta, Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, 18 and others multiple times. He has skills that makes his opponents surprised by his talent despite the power gap. Toyo's Krillin is done terribly and as iff all of the things in DB & Z never happened. Where the anime has Krillin regain his fighting spirit, Toyo's Krillin is said to be even weaker because he hasn't trained in a long time.

Toyo's Beerus finds value in learning Ultra Instinct and even tapped into it to outdo multiple Gods of Destruction. Thsn later he's written to believe that a Destroyer God's techniques are better than an Angel's technique. The same Angel that is his teacher whom Beerus was trying to learn UI from. Not to mention other Gods of Destruction see the value in Ultra Instinct being above GoD abilities. Ultea Instinct is an Angelic technique, so why would Beerus change from wanting the next level of power above Gods of Destruction to thinking his own power is better than an Angel's and can actually compete? To make it seem that Vegeta is now equal to Goku. Yup. Toyo's Beerus changed to make Toyo's Vegeta look impressive.

There are other examples too, but I'd be here forever listing how badly Toyotaro writes the characters. And beyond the characters, the storytelling is just bad & extremely inconsistent.

So, what do I think of the theDBS manga as a whole?

The DBS manga is not worth reading at all.

I only read it nowadays so I can compare it to the far better DBS anime continuity & to point out to ppl how the two continuities are not the same.

It was an Italian that discovered the Americans and not the UK. Also, the UK has an awful history of colonisation + slavery, but it's far more respectful + accepting of people of all backgrounds than other western European colonial + slavery-enacted superpowers like Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Germany, France. Everyone blames the USA + UK for their awful history whilst ignoring Portugal's, Spain's, Belgium's, the Netherland's, Italy's, Germany's awful colonisation+ slavery.

I wasn't quite aware of how farther east European countries were also racist. I mean, I assumed, but I've never looked much.On the other hand... Sorry about that, I know incest is bad. I was just trying to state that they may probably be evil enough to engage in that sort of thing, that it would be the sort of thing that they might do, that's all. LIke, I'm trying to say if the 17 and 18 of the future timeline are really so horrible and disgusting and evil to do all the thing they've been doing, then they obviously would do something really disturbing and upsetting things like incest with each other. YOU COMMIT INCEST AND YOU DIE!

Here's the thing... Incest isn't necessarily connected to evil. Being evil does not mean you commit incest. What makes incest bad is the lack of respect for the person you're related to and how it could effect possible children who will more than likely have physical deformities and/or mental issues (either born with the mental issues or develop them after finding out their parents are siblings and the bullying that is likely to happen to them).

Not to mention that incest is mentally damaging for both parties regardless if they are of the same or opposite sex. Out of respect & love for family, this act should not be committed.

And even if a person is evil, that does not mean that by default they commit incest too. Evil people can respect each other & not do such a thing. As mentioned before, incest can be mentally damaging, and mental damage is very similar to physical damage (at times even worse). So, do Future 17 & 18 attack and try to deal serious damage to each other? No. Future 17 & 18 have a respect amongst themselves. In fact, they only respect each other. That respect prevents them from harming each other physically or mentally or in any other way as well.

Besides, Future 17 & 18 are programmed to kill humans. They are not evil by their own free will. Glimpses of their free will are seen in a few instances.

Future 17 & 18 killing people at a carnival so they can play on the rides.

Future 18 playing a video game, then ended up blowing up parts of an inhabited city out of anger after she lost.

Future 17 making a game out of running over people.

In the end, these all tied in to their objective to kill humanity that Gero programmed them to do. They became weapons programmed with an evil objective. Even their brief moments of free will resulted in them completing their objective.

I don't see those two committing incest. Their horrible actions are a result of their minds being reprogrammed. They hate humans and only respect each other.

Also... it's more like "YOU COMMIT GENOCIDE AND YOU DIE!"

An incestuous relationship between 17 & 18 is just an innacurate view of the characters. Similar to how people think Gohan loves fighting & Chi-Chi forced him to be a scholar. That's not canon & not accurate at all.

But, ppl will write what they want to write when it comes to fics and stuff. I personally find it more interesting when the characters are kept mostly in character. Not a fan of OOC writing.

One of the few characters I can think of that would have some sort of inscestuous attraction to a relative (besides Saiyans on Planet Vegeta possibly engaging in it for power reasons) is a younger Bulma towards Future Trunks.

But even then, its one-sided because Bulma doesn't know Trunks is her future son from an alternate timeline.

And imo, the funny thing about this is that Trunks is basically a male Bulma with Vegeta eyes.

So, Bulma is mostly attracted to herself in some sort of comedic, narcisistic, & awkward way.

The other characters that could possibly partake in incest are those from the Demon Realm. Instead of technology based science, their realm is magical based & seems to be run by a completely different/separate set of rules. So, the concept of incest may not even exist in the Demon Realm. If the concept does exist... does anyone think demons even care about what we consider taboo? They're demons without human morals. I doubt they think "this is bad." If anyone's gonna engage in incest, my money is on demons.
