It was a well known fact that your husband wasn’t fond of Earth and its occupants. But since you were from Earth, Loki had no choice but to take you there whenever you desired.
Yes, Loki was your husband. Striking and shocking as it was, the infamous yet powerful Norse God was yours.
At first you were so afraid of him. The two of you had met during his chaotic time in New York, amidst aliens and destruction. Your meeting was wild and crazy, and Loki saw you as his enemy. You worked for Stark Industries and tried to stop Loki from destroying the world with the Avengers. Your attempt was pretty pathetic but you had to give it a shot. You couldn't just let someone trash your home without at least trying to intervene.
In the chaos of battle, you got hit by a bullet in the shoulder. Loki could have easily left you, but he didn’t. He took you to Asgard and treated your injuries with their advanced magic and healing concoctions. In a matter of days you were completely healed. All thanks to him. He’d saved you, and that’s when you started seeing parts of him that no one else could.
Loki was a never-ending puzzle, with so many tiny pieces that it seemed impossible to ever see the whole picture. But if there was one thing you had learned about him was his deep craving for affection and care. Beneath the stoic, cold exterior of this God, hid a child seeking love.
You and Loki dated for a year before he insisted on getting married. He was pretty adamant about it, especially after clearing his name and claiming his rightful spot on the throne of Asgard. As the first son, it was his duty, and Thor was more than happy to be the captain of the Asgardian soldiers and play peacemaker with Earth.
So now, you were Queen too. You had responsibilities and daily tasks that sometimes gave you headaches. You were never lonely and Loki always took care of you. But your husband was King, born and bred for the role, when you were just a human who had only ever imagined living in a tiny New York apartment, not glittering kingdoms and palaces.
When you asked Loki for a vacation back home, he agreed. He took you to New York, where you stayed in your old apartment. Loki had bought and completely renovated it. Now, it was an adorable small place with comfy and elegant furniture, a perfect escape from your royal duties.
That night, you chose to stay in and watch a movie while munching on snacks until you were full.
No duties, no attendants or royal meetings.
Just you and your husband.
You had already stocked up on all kinds of chips, chocolate and candy. Loki had just emerged from the shower, wearing a half-open green robe that showed off his muscular chest, still flushed from the heat. He looked even taller and more imposing in your small apartment, his wet raven hair dripping water.
To distract yourself from your lusty thoughts, you went to the living room and lit a candle. You snuggled into the couch, and that’s when Loki strolled in, his musky scent filling the air. He sat down beside you and handed you a glass of wine. Your glasses clinked and you took a few sips of wine and smiled at him, enjoying the rich, fruity taste.
“Good?” He asked.
You grinned. “You have excellent taste.”
“Are you happy?” Loki asked. As much as he grumbled about Midgard, he knew how much you missed your old life. He spoiled you as often as he could.
“Very. Thank you, honey. You are quite possibly the best husband in the whole universe.”
He bent to kiss your neck. “Quite possibly? My dear, I am unequivocally the best. And I can prove it to you.”
You moaned as his lips trailed your neck, dragging your neckline aside to kiss your collarbones. “Loki no.”
“Why not?” He looked up at you like a child who’d been refused his favorite toy.
“You promised we’d watch a movie tonight.”
"I desire to ravish you instead."
You half-laughed. “You ravish me daily.”
“And it appears I am never satisfied. So I crave more.”
“You know, sometimes it’s hard keeping up with your libido,” you muttered as he cupped your breasts over your T-shirt and traced your nipples. “Loki, wait—”
He grumbled and drew back. “You are one merciless woman.”
You kissed his cheek. “I’d like to watch a movie with you. It’s been my dream, being with my boyfriend—”
“Husband,” he corrected.
“Yes, being with my husband and watching a late night movie while eating snacks.”
“I shall indulge you, my wife,” he said, tucking his robe closed and trying to hide his raging erection. He flashed a smile, his white teeth gleaming, and added, “And then,I’m going to fuck you until you can’t walk.”
You blushed. Loki often said things like that, completely shameless. “You debauched God,” you muttered.
He chuckled, the sound deep and warm. “A pleasure, darling.”
Sprawling his long legs, Loki tucked you in his arms, a soft blanket draped over you. You craddled a bowl of chips, snacks, and candy in one arm and the TV remote in the other, browsing movies on Netflix.
“This place is nice, even pretty,” Loki mused as he looked around the renovated apartment. He hadn’t really taken the time to appreciate it before.
“Pretty, huh? I remember you calling it a ‘pathetic hovel’ last time,” you teased, glancing up at him.
“Well… that was a long time ago.”
“So, what do you want to watch tonight?”
He sighed. “Well, if we’re going to waste time with Midgardian entertainment, it might as well be brief.”
“Brief? I guess a movie then.”
“Yes.” He raised an eyebrow. “I have to debauch you after that, remember?”
You nudged him lightly with your elbow. “You know, I think you’re secretly ashamed to enjoy a little human entertainment.”
“No. I’m simply eager to fuck you. That’s one thing I will never lie about.”
“What a rake you are.”
His eyes sparkled with mischief. “If I must suffer through this, let’s get over with it. Please.”
As it turned out, the movie held Loki’s interest for twenty minutes before he started being mischievous.
Honestly, you expected him to start sooner.
He took a chip and pretended to accidentally drop it in your lap. Then, acting all innocent, he “accidentally” tried to catch it, slipping his hand between your thighs. His fingers brushed against your clothed pussy, but retreated when you sent him a firm look.
Loki resumed watching the movie.
A while later, he cuddled you close and “accidentally” dropped a piece of popcorn down your shirt, between your breasts. You barely held back your grin at his ministrations. He retrieved it and you stopped his groping with a gentle slap of your hand.
“You know,” you started, “for the god of mischief, your way of distracting me is pretty lame.”
He smiled and undeterred, opened his robe. “I’m hot.”
Your eyes strayed from the TV screen because good Gods, he’d opened his robe completely, giving you a good view of his glorious cock. Thick, long and fat, it stood at attention. It throbbed, thick veins running from the head to the base. You bit your lips at the bead of moisture at the head. Loki had a magnificent chiseled body, and his cock was like rest of him, Godly. Devine. Perfect.
You rubbed your thighs together, trying to ignore the emptiness inside you. Damn him for using your weakness against you. His green eyes glowed in the dim light, filled with a hunger that promised to have you mewling and begging for his touch.
“Shouldn’t you be watching the movie?” Loki asked, his voice a husky whisper. His cock throbbed from between your bodies, begging for your touch.
You dragged your eyes from his cock and up to his face. “This is not fair.”
“God of mischief.”
In a swift move, he shifted, pushing you against the couch with his body between your legs. You gasped at the feel of him against you. Warm, hard and scented with masculine musk, your husband was irresistible. The movie played in the background, but went completely unnoticed.
He caught your lips, his tongue slipping into your mouth. “It’s time for me to have a taste of my Queen. I want my sweet human crying out, her pretty pink pussy clenching around me.”
“Hmm… yes…” you said in between wet kisses. “More, please… Loki…”
With a satisfied hum, he worked on removing your clothes, tugging at your pajamas and almost tearing your underwear. He tossed away both of your clothes away as if they offended him until there was nothing left but your smooth skin exposed to his eyes. Grasping under your knees, he steered them wide apart, and enjoyed the view. Creamy thighs and in between was the most pretty, pink puffy cunt begging for his attention.
“Look at that,” he drawled, his finger running up and down your drenched slit. “I could scent your desire all this time, my naughty little Queen.”
You opened your mouth to speak but moaned when one thick finger pressed inside. He gathered your wetness and pumped slowly, in and out, in and out, while watching you intently. You squirmed, seeking more, but he kept you still. A second finger entered, curling and rubbing that sensitive spot. You fell back, your toes curling. Licking his lips, Loki added a third, stretching you wide for him while his thumb teased your clit.
“Beautiful,” he whispered, watching at where your cunt squeezed his fingers. “So beautiful.”
“Husband, please.” You gripped his forearms. “Want them faster.”
Loki grinned and obliged, thrusting his fingers in a come hither motion. You rocked against them, panting and whining from overload. He kept his other hand on your inner thigh, keeping you open for him. Thrusting, stroking and playing with you, you came in a matter of seconds. Stars flashed in your vision. You were delirious, floating in clouds of bliss.
Loki retreated from your pussy, licking his fingers that were all wet from your juices. Then growing low, he descended upon your mound, his teeth nibbling at the fat pussy lips before flicking his tongue around your clit. Oversensitive, you tried to stop him but couldn’t. Body taut, you threaded your hands through his wet hair, grinding your pussy against his face.
A few more shameless licks and you cried out, shaking, coming apart with long-drawn moans. Loki didn’t stop teasing you, he fucked you with his fingers, moving up to devour your nipples, sucking the buds deep into his warm mouth.
“My pretty Queen possesses the sweetest taste. Can’t have enough of you.”
He claimed your mouth and you moaned at the taste of your essence on his tongue. Your hands traveled along his strong body, caressing his broad shoulders before traveling low to cup his cock. You pumped him, traced the veins and rubbed the leaky head. Loki hummed, pleased as he licked into your mouth.
Pinning your hands above your head, he grabbed his fat cock and slapped it on your pussy lips. He was heavy and hot. You watched as he rubbed the pulsing shaft until it was coated in your juices, teasing you by thrusting the cockhead inside your little slit before drawing back. With a whine, you canted your hips, begging him in a series of whines and murmurs.
He indulged you and finally surged forward, watching as your small opening was forced open by his dick. You both moaned at the sensations and once he was seated to the hilt you needed a few moments to adjust to the invasion. He was big, bigger than a human in every way. You always needed some moments to get used to the incredible fullness and stretch.
Even so, you always fit perfectly together.
“Good?” he asked, breathless and aroused.
“Okay, you can move now.”
Nodding, he pulled back, his veined length frothing with your slick before slamming back in. Having him inside you felt glorious. He did it again, his eyes fixed on your pretty cunt; he drew back till all his cock was out, then pushed deep, until his swollen balls squeezed against your ass.
“Loki,” you whined, not caring how desperate you sounded, “want to touch you.”
He freed your hands and you immediately traced his strong body, trailing your fingers down his neck, chest, nipples and firm ass while he pounded inside you, claiming your very soul. Clutching your waist, he went faster, his mouth devouring your nipples while you clung to his shoulders for dear life and rode higher and higher.
Your orgasm hit you hard and fast and you shut your eyes tightly at how intense it was. Loki followed right after you, delving to the hilt and shooting ropes of warm cum inside you. You felt his release, every pump that flooded your pussy and overflowed, dripping down your the crack of your ass.
With a rumble of satisfaction, he set you to lay on your side, cuddling you from behind, his still hard shaft still within you. He kissed your neck, your shoulder, then suckled your nipples and cupped your breasts in his hands. You relaxed into him, your body lax and spent.
“We should watch the rest of the movie now,” he said in an absolutely serious tone.
You half-laughed. “We missed most of it.”
He kissed your head with a grin. “We can watch it again.”
“Oh, now you don’t mind?”
“I think I’m going to relish watching as many movies as you want, darling.”
To prove his point, he gave a shallow thrust—he was still hard and your eyes rolled to the back of your head.
“That sounds like a threat, husband,” you moaned when he draped your leg over his thigh. “Loki—”
He rubbed the place where you were joined. “I want to play with my Queen’s pussy while we watch the movie.”
You wiggled but he kept you lodged to him. “Loki this is too much.”
He silenced you with a kiss and drew tight circles over your clit. You felt warm magic permeating your pussy and knew that he was healing you. You no longer felt so oversensitive and the stretch of his cock was pleasing, welcoming.
“There,” he dragged his tongue across your neck. “I always take care of my wife.” He kissed your forehead and added, “Now put the movie from the start.”
“Lo—” you didn’t manage to let out another word and whined when he leaned down to kiss around your flushed nipples.
“Loki—”
“The movie, darling,” he said and gently thrust his cock, reminding you that he remained rock hard inside you.
Loki moved from behind you, his hands, mouth and delicious length of him inside you teasing you to another orgasm. True to his word, he ended up fucking you until the credits rolled and you had no strength to do anything else but melt sweetly into his arms and enjoy his ministrations.

Tom Hiddleston x ofc (Mia Sull) Chapter 2 Masterlist Series Rating: M Chapter Warnings: Mentions of sexual health items, alcohol use, Nudity Series warnings: Sexual content, alcohol use
RPF Note- This is a fictional version of Tom Hiddleston. I have and will continue to play with the timeline of his career. All characters are fictional. Out of respect for the actual Tom, I have fictionalized his family members beyond the most basic details as well as as past romantic entanglements. Please do NOT take this romantic work of fiction as disapproval of his current relationship. He appears happy, has a family and I am happy for him. I have a hundred and one fictional versions of him in my head, I don't need the real life man single.
Summary: Las Vegas drew in people like him. Heart broken, lonely and rejected while his ex married someone else. Here he could be anyone though, flying under the radar of his skyrocketing fame.
Las Vegas was home to people like her. Lonely, broke and with the weight of the world on her shoulders. There was never enough of anything except stress. She was one of the countless faces that lived in the shadow of the glittering lights.
Two worlds collide in a drunken night neither can remember. What do you do when what happens in Vegas is a legally binding marriage contract between two strangers?
Chapter One
Shrill ringing cut through the silence. Slitting open her eyes, Mia regretted it instantly. The bright sunlight of the day stabbed her eyes without care for the pain it caused. Blindly, she groped toward the cursed sound of her phone ringing. Pawing at it, she dismissed the alarm or call or alert- what exactly she didn’t know and didn’t care at that moment.
“Fucking hell…” It was hard to talk. Her throat felt like someone had stuffed it full of cotton balls. Her head pounded and it felt like she was floating.
“Agreed…” she could have sworn a voice mumbled behind her. She had had far too much to drink the night before and couldn’t trust her senses.
“Where are you?” The voice was a distant squawk. It turned out that it was a call and, rather than dismissing it she had answered it.
“Fuck.” she said again, not registering much but dragging the phone to her ear. “What?”
“Breakfast. You’re missing from it. Where are you?” It was her sister Ashley on the other end of the call.
Breakfast… shit. Breakfast. “I’ll get right on that.”
“Where are you?” Ashley’s voice was so loud. Was the phone on speaker or was the volume punishing her for the night before?
“Hotel room?” Mia said.
“Mandalay Bay.” The voice behind her offered slightly stronger. The bed shifted under the weight of another occupant moving. The voice earlier hadn’t been a figment of her imagination after all.
“Who was that?” Ashley asked.
“I don’t honestly know.” She admitted, not caring if she hurt the occupant’s feelings but trying to keep her voice down.
If there wasn’t a thousand angry hornets surfing on shifting sand in her skull, it may have occurred to her that admitting that while in a hotel alone- she assumed they were alone at least- with a strange man was likely not the greatest choice.
“Tom.” The mystery man supplied as if that actually gave her any information. Did he expect her to remember him? Did he remember her?
“He says his name is Tom.” Did she even know a Tom? She had no memory of a Tom.
“I heard.” Ashley was not pleased. She was whatever existed below highly displeased was. “Who the hell is-”
“Give me ten to fifteen, kay?” Mia didn’t give her a chance to answer before disconnecting the call.
“What the hell happened?” It took all the strength in her body to roll from her stomach to her back. Her limbs felt like they had been replaced with sacks of potatoes. How much did I drink?
The thought was cut off when she saw him. Light brown hair was lit up gold in the offensively bright Las Vegas morning sun, defining the curl to the short stands. He had a sharp jaw peppered with morning stubble and defined cheekbones. Most importantly, he was without a shirt. Hopefully that was all the clothes missing from him.
He held his hand up over his chest, suspended and looking at it incredulously. A Simple gold ring reflected off his left hand.
Fuck. Her leg brushed against his as she shifted to face him. She was very much naked and anything resembling pant legs did not cover his leg. Fuckity fuck fuck. She fucked a married man. When the fuck did she sink so low?
“I think we got married?” Tom’s voice had fewer cotton balls and gravel now as he shifted again in the bed.
“Oh thank god, you’re not married.” The words slipped out in a breath before the real meaning of his words sank in and she bolted upright. “Wait, what? Fuck.” She yanked the too thin blankets up to her naked chest as soon as the overly cold hotel room air made contact with her bare breasts. In the process, she stole blankets from the mystery Tom. His long toned thigh and hip was reveled and yep- he was naked too.
“I believe we’re married.” The words came slowly, calmly as he watched her. Absently, he tugged the blanket to cover his hip and maintain his cover, though he seemed far less concerned with potential exposure than she was. Who could blame him? His chest and abdomen were toned. No wonder she fell into bed with him.
But marry him? She wouldn’t. She didn’t know him. And they couldn’t, anyway. “There’s no way.”
“Shall we find out?” Muscles rippled and contracted as he sat up, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed. His back was as nice to look at as the rest of him. Quickly, she chastised herself for thinking that way.
This was insanity.
Look away, she reminded herself, as he leaned down and slipped on a pair of boxers. Before she could stop herself, she noticed how they hugged the curve of his ass. It was possible he had a nicer ass than her.
Tom rummaged around as she tried to make a gown out of the blanket before handing her a white button-down shirt. It was too large for her and clearly was his. “Your dress is ripped down the zipper.”
“Turn around.”
He complied, but a chuckle slipped from him as he did so. “It’s a bit late for that, eh?”
“We don’t know that.” It was a lie, she knew it was. Her hips ached in a way that made it impossible to lie to herself, but she sure as hell would lie to him.
“The condom in the trash over here says we did,” or maybe lying to him wasn’t an option. “It’s okay if you don’t remember- I only remember bits. We shouldn’t have.”
“But we did.” It killed her to admit that. “Look, if we were so drunk we couldn’t remember having sex, they wouldn’t have given us a marriage license.”
“You think?” It didn’t sound like he was listening to her as he rummaged through some papers that were scattered on the floor.
“I know, Tom- that’s your name, right? Look, these sorts of things happen in movies and books. Sure, you can walk into the clerk’s office and get a marriage license damn near 24/7 and walk out with a license within 30 minutes, but they’re trained to look for people too damn drunk to make that decision.”
“And what if I just found the paperwork?” When she faced him, he was looking at her intently and holding a stack of papers in his hand.
“No.” He pulled the papers from her as she reached for them, eyebrow raised.
“You don’t know me?” His whole demeanor changed with the question, body becoming rigid.
What the fuck sort of question was that? “Should I?”
“It doesn’t’ matter.” Sure, he was hot, but what the fuck was with that ‘do you know who I am?’ shit? But he seemed to relax with that answer. He didn’t look like a mafia throwback at least.
When she reached for the papers again, he let her take them. She didn’t exactly have the right clothes on to try and climb the man to steal them if he had decided to be childish. The official papers were all there. Everything looked legit and the yellow carbon copies were present with the official white sheets missing.
“Fuck me.”
“I would make a joke, but I suspect now isn’t the time.” Tom cracked a slight smile, but she only returned a glare.
“Not the time.”
“So, are we married?”
“I think so.” She wanted to puke. It wasn’t fair. She was so hung over and yet the adrenalin was letting her think through the shifting sands in her brain. There wasn’t anything she wanted to do more than puke in the moment, yet her mouth was dryer than the desert.
“Maria, correct?” Tom spoke softer. “The paperwork said your name is Maria?”
“Mia,” She corrected absently. She was only Maria when someone was mad at her. “Hiddleston? That’s my new name? What the fuck kind of name is that?” Realizing how harsh her words were, she tacked on a quick, “Sorry.”
“I can’t say none taken, but we’re under stress, so I’ll let it pass.”
Fiddling with the ring on her finger, she stood in silence for a moment before sitting in a heap on the bed. It wasn’t her intention to insult his name, but she hadn’t expected to have woken up to a husband.
“Here.” A glass of water waved through the tears she hadn’t realized were gathering in her eyes. “You’re probably dehydrated. I know my head is pounding,  yours surely is too.”
“Thank you.” She wasn’t aware of how thirsty she was until she took the first gulp of water to wash down the Advil he also handed to her.
“Slow down,” He cautioned, “or you’ll make yourself sick.
Looking down at the last bit of water in the glass, she was silent as her stomach rolled. They had to do something. This shouldn’t have been able to happen. She couldn’t be married to a stranger.
“We need to file for an annulment.” the words came out softly and silence hung in the air after. “The ring is pretty- hopefully it can be refunded. Do you think you picked it or me?” She was talking to fill the void in the room.
“I did,” He sounded… something. Down. Perhaps the reality of the situation was weighing on him as well. “You wouldn’t have any part of picking it.”
“You remember?”
“Bits and pieces are coming back.”
“You picked a nice one.” The ring fit her well, sparkling with promises fit for a princess she would never get to be. “Hopefully you can get a refund.”
Silence again. There were no analog clocks in hotels anymore, but she could somehow still hear the ticking of a clock marking off the seconds in her soul.
“I can have Ashley, my sister, bring me some clothes and we can go get the paperwork filed.” The words were flowing out quickly, trying to fill the room. “We can get this taken care of and be done with it. You won’t have to see me again. I won’t make it dif-”
“What if we don’t?” Long nimble fingers that made her remember warmth twisted his simple band around his finger.
“What?” Surely she didn’t hear him right.
“I was raised to believe things happened for a reason. The amount of things that should have stood in the way to prevent this- what if it happened for a reason?” He couldn’t be serious.
“So what, we just stay married?”
“Well,” She cut him off.
“We don’t even know eachother!”
This was insanity. He was insane. Why would a man like him want to be married to some random woman he didn’t know? He looked like a goddamn god, surely women fall at his feet. She wasn’t special. Any woman could have fallen into his bed. It just happened to be her this time.
“Hear me out,” He said. It was hard not to look at him. What woman wouldn’t want a tall, handsome man pleading with her while wearing nothing but his well fitted boxers? “Let’s take some time. Let’s get to know eachother. We don’t have to rush-”
“You’re actually insane.” In her exasperation, she flopped back on the bed. The hem of the shirt- his shirt- rode up her thighs, and she quickly sat back up and yanked the fabric down. “If we ‘take our time’, the window for annulment will close. Then-”
“Then we get a divorce.” He said it as if it was that simple.
“Divorce means lawyers and court fees. I don’t exactly have shit to split but-”
“I’m not concerned about my assets.”
“How long do you want? A few days?” She ran her hands through her waves in frustration, but quickly yanked them down again as she felt the hem of the shirt creeping higher again. “I need some damn pants.”
“What about a year?”
~~~~~~
Alcohol was burning in his throat even as he called for another. Ice clanked against the cold glass. Lights and sounds blinked and clanged around him and yet, thanks to the insulation, it sounded distant. Condensation dampened his fingertips.
It was childish; he knew that. He was far too grown to be drowning his sorrows in a bar. It was risky too- with the attention and influx of fans, he could only dream of it wouldn’t be unexpected for someone to recognize him.
“Excuse me?” A soft voice called behind his shoulder. This was it, he was found out.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m on per-” She slipped into the empty seat next to him. The bar was packed, and it had only recently been vacated. Though he looked at her, she had her eyes on the bartender.
“Washington apple?” She ordered.
Brown waves cascaded down her back. Were they as soft as they looked? The scent of flowers clung to the surrounding air.
“Mia!” The bartender knew her. “Shouldn’t you have gone home hours ago?”
“No point. I wouldn’t sleep anyway.” The glass slid into her hand with practiced coordination that gave away a history between her and the bartender.
“Why’s that?” He shouldn’t be listening in on their conversation, but the whiskey buzzed in his head, making it hard not to.
“AC is down. No one would get any sleep, anyway.”
Tom downed his whiskey and ordered another. His ex may be getting married, but why should he spend that time alone?
“I couldn’t imagine trying to sleep here with no air conditioning.”
Chapter Sixty-Seven:
It’s the day after Christmas and I spend it overthinking, worried about this ‘gathering’ at Cliveden. To distract myself, I fiddle around with the new camera Thomus bought me.
And I might have taken a few… dozen pictures of him.
Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but regardless I now have images of him sitting at the kitchen table with a book, typing away at his desk on the typewriter, and even one I convinced him to take with me in the reflection of the bathroom mirror.
“I think I’m… nervous,” I say as we’re getting ready to leave.
Thomus finishes adjusting the collar of his cloak around the collar of his sweater and gives me a curious look. “You likely have more in common with them than I do.”
I shift on my feet, clutching the Tupperware full of cookies tighter. “I highly doubt that. Ever since you told me about this party, all I can think about is the time you spanked me in front of them.” A satisfied smile spreads across his face as he chuckles and pulls a forest green knit scarf from beneath his cloak. “Are we all just supposed to pretend like that never happened?” He steps closer and loops the scarf around my neck, eyes focused on the task. “Are you even listening?”
“Of course.” His eyes snap up to mine as he flips one end of the scarf over my shoulder and the other down my front. “You have nothing to worry about.”
I release a strained groan and fidget with my Ilvermorny Christmas sweater, pulling the hem further down around my hips. “Let’s just go.”
Tumblr media
We Apparate straight there and I’m gonna be honest, I have no idea what to expect. The few parties Jacob Astor has hosted that I’ve witnessed have varied wildly. From a super serious Death Eater meeting about human trafficking to dancing with Thomus while high on a lust potion - you never really know. Not to mention, the usual crowd has been an unfortunate audience to my most embarrassing moments in the last six months.
I shudder out of my thoughts while we trek to the large hosting room. The smell hits me first, cinnamon and oranges, and then I register the song playing gently from the corner of the room, Bing Crosby’s White Christmas . An Elf snaps away our outerwear as we approach the open doors.
The room is absolutely decked out . Floating candles light the room, hovering just under the high ceiling. Fake snow drifts down from a dim grey sky, fresh holly on every sconce. In the center of the room against the windows is a massive tree, covered in tinsel and twinkling lights. The grand fireplace is crackling with a delicious smelling fire. We walk closer to the tree, where people are gathered around on couches and chairs, and I can make out what lights the top of the tree... A bright, glowing Deathly Hallows mark.
Well, that’s fucking weird.
I don’t have time to think on it further before Jacob Astor is standing before us. He looks as dashing as ever and not so surprised that I’m not currently blind. He smiles at both Thomus and me, and I wish I could tell if he’s being sincere.
“Glad you guys could make it,” Jake says cheerfully as he shakes Thomus’ hand, but he’s looking at me.
Thomus smiles in return, looking more relaxed than he usually does when we’re out. “Wouldn’t miss it.”
As they exchange a few more pleasantries, my eyes wander beyond Jake, trying to see if there’s any familiar faces. I clock Kyle sitting near Will when Jake says something that recaptures my attention. “I see you had your very own Christmas miracle.”
Thomus’ arm slides around my waist. “Yes, I had some very good luck.”
I don’t miss the double meaning to his words. I wanna remark about how his good luck was really my hard work, but I bite my tongue and force a shy smile as Jake turns to shake my hand as well.
Jake gestures to a food and drinks table set up along a wall. “Help yourselves. I think Will’s trying to start up some drinking games here in a minute.”
I start walking toward the table before Thomus, mostly because I’m eager to exchange this box of cookies for something with alcohol in it. Towards the desert section, I glance back over my shoulder to make sure no one but Thomus is watching me slide trays aside, making enough room for my offering.
Finally with free hands, I scooch next to Thomus standing by the drinks.
“Can I pour you anything?” he asks me.
My eyes scan the bottles, then point to the one I want. “Yeah, can I get orange juice with Malibu?”
He reaches for the white bottle I pointed to and pours a double into the iced glass he’s holding. “Coconut rum?” he questions as he’s reaching for the pitcher of orange liquid.
“It’s my go-to,” I say as I grab a coffee straw, taking the glass and stirring it once it’s full. I take a sip and it’s just right. He’s busy pouring his own glass of whiskey, but I offer him the straw anyway. “Wanna try?”
I briefly pull his eyes away from pouring as he leans down to wrap his lips around the straw. There’s just something about seeing his jaw flex like that that has me pinching myself.
“Well, it’s certainly a combination of flavors,” he says after swallowing.
I snort and forget what I’m about to say when I feel an arm brush my other shoulder. When I see who it is, I relax. “Oh, hi.”
Will’s eyes immediately find the box that doesn’t match the rest of the dishes and nabs one of the bright red cookies. “Oh, hi,” he teases after he takes a bite. His face is sans beard and rocking a stache now. “You guys ready to get trashed?”
“What’re we playing?” I ask, taking a few big pulls of my drink.
“Anything,” Will answers immediately. He pulls out his wand and summons a tray pre-loaded with tiny cauldrons just big enough for shots. A bottle of firewhiskey floats from the collection before us and starts filling the cauldrons. “Got nothin’ but a good time on the agenda.”
“Can we play Thunderstruck?” I ask.
Will beams. “Fuck yeah we can play Thunderstruck.”
As Thomus and I follow Will back to where everyone else is gathered, Thomus leans in. “Should I know what that is?”
I can’t help but smile. “Oh, you’ll find out.”
There’s an empty loveseat Thomus pulls me onto. He tucks his arm around my waist again as he settles back, practically tucking me into his side.
As Will passes out the shot cauldrons, I can finally sneak a peek at who’s actually here. Kyle and Will - and obviously Jake. That Roosevelt guy is here, too, but I forget his first name. There’s a pretty blond woman talking to Jake that I don’t recognize and… oh, that’s it. Small group, I see. Which I will admit I’m glad for.
I take the first shot that Will offers me and I down it immediately before putting it back and grabbing another one. I haven’t really eaten much today, so the alcohol hits my stomach like a warm blast.
“Alright, I wanna make a toast,” Jake announces, standing with his shot held out towards the blond next to him. “Firstly, to my sister, Diana, for the last minute decorating.”
“Well, you obviously weren’t going to do it,” Diana says with a laugh.
“Exactly,” he says. “And then to all of you - for making this past year as successful as it has been.”
For one blissful moment I had allowed myself to forget why I was here, why they’ve had such a successful year. It takes .2 seconds for the anxious pit in my chest to grow twice its size. I’m the first one to finish my shot and then sip heavily on my cocktail to wash the taste down.
“Alright, the first game we’re playing is Thunderstruck, so everyone top off their drinks,” Will says, heading over to where the Christmas music’s playing from.
Since mine is already more than halfway gone, I shoot to my feet to fill it back up. I’m not the first one to the drinks table because Kyle is there ladeling in some kind of fizzing purple punch.
“Want one?” Kyle asks as I glance over my shoulder at Thomus, who briefly looked at me before turning to greet Diana.
“Yes, please,” I reply. “Two actually.”
“This your doing or his?” he asks, his voice low. By this he doesn’t even have to clarify - I just know.
I look up at him and shrug with one shoulder. “Mine.”
“Hmph,” he grunts unhappily. He finishes filling the first glass and then starts the second.
“What, don’t believe me?” I ask, taking a sip of the punch. Elderberry and something that tastes like Aloe juice.
“I believe you,” he says quickly. “Now it’s just my turn to hold up my end of the bargain.”
I sigh heavily. “You haven’t figured out how to get me away from Thomus yet, have you?”
“Well, I have a few ideas, but I don’t think you’re going to like them.”
“Such as?”
Before he can answer, we get called back to the group to start the song. I’m supposed to hide the fact that I have my magic, so with both hands I carefully cradle my half drink plus the two new ones back to the loveseat. Thomus is still chatting with Diana, a conversation I’ve completely tuned out, so I just slide our drinks onto the coffee table in front of us.
“Melisa, can you explain the rules?” Will asks.
I’m a bit taken aback by the use of my whole first name - especially being pronounced correctly - instead of my last. Everyone’s eyes are on me now, so I take a deep breath before spilling the details. “Okay so, we go in a circle and every time the song says ‘thunder’, one person drinks until they say ‘thunder’ again, and then the next person starts and so on and so forth, does that make sense?”
“I’ll start!” Will says before pressing play and jogging over. He comes to sit on the armrest of our loveseat.
The first few thunders come in quick succession, so once Will goes, I go, and then Thomus. The thunders go around the circle a few times before the first long stretch lands on Thomus, who has to finish his whiskey, and with some encouragement, grabs the punch I push towards him. With the circle being small, by the time the song’s over, everyone has finished their drinks.
“Now that we’ve all settled in,” Will jokes, “the next game we’re playing is called Captain.” He sets the music back to Christmas music and turns the volume down to a background level. “Usually, it’s played with a pirate's hat or a sailors hat, but since it’s Christmas - “ he waves his wand and a Santa hat appears on Diana’s head, much to her delight “ - this is what we’ve got. Does everyone know how to play?”
I shake my head, noticing the alcohol has started to loosen my limbs. I’d finished my cocktail during the game and have started on the punch - which I swear keeps refilling itself.
Diana rubs her hands together conspiratorially and leans forward over Thomus to explain. “Whoever has the hat gets to pick someone to do a dare. If they do the dare, then we all take a shot and they get the hat, but if they don’t then they’re out of the game. Last person in the game wins.”
I smile at her. “Please don’t pick me first.”
She laughs. “Don’t worry, I got my eyes on someone else.” She jerks her chin towards Jake, who immediately dons this ‘oh shit’ face. She leans back, crossing her arms with a shit eating grin.
“Why’s it called Captain?” I ask. “Just because of the hat?”
“Whenever someone gets the hat, we’re supposed to say ‘Aye, Aye Captain’,” Thomus explains for me, his face leaning in close.
I immediately giggle. “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?”
He runs his hand down my thigh and tilts his head in confusion. “What?”
I shift in my seat, getting closer to him so our thighs touch. “Nevermind.”
“Aye, aye Captain!” Roosevelt and Will shout.
Diana taps her chin like she’s still considering. “Hmm, dear brother, what shall I make you do?” Then she grins. “I dare you to take your socks off with your teeth and wear them tucked into your collar for the rest of the game.”
My head quickly swivels to where Jake is sitting to get his reaction and he does not disappoint. His face scrunches up in disgust as he slouches in his seat, already toeing off his nice shoes.
“Hopefully those aren’t the ones you were wearing yesterday,” Will laughs. “Or are they?”
“Shut your trap, Hoffman,” Jake grumbles.
We all wait with baited breath as he grabs his calf to pull his foot closer to his face. He quickly traps the sock between his bared teeth and pulls. It slips off and he does the same to the other one before tucking them both into his collar.
He grins triumphantly and quickly summons house slippers for his bare feet. “Ha!” he says. “Drink up, assholes.”
We all take our drinks as the Santa hat gets transferred to Jake.
“Aye, Aye Captain!” we all shout.
His eyes jump from person to person, and he’s quick to settle on Kyle, who clearly isn’t paying attention.
Kyle’s sole focus is on Thomus, blatantly staring at him with something akin to determination and consideration.
The look quickly disperses as my stare gives Jake’s intention away and Kyle’s expression neutralizes.
“Kyle,” Jake says. “I dare you to serenade the person to your right.”
Kyle sighs dramatically, rubbing his hand down his face. “I’m not nearly drunk enough for this.”
Nevertheless, he swiftly gets down on his knees in front of Diana, a hand clutched over his heart. As he’s clearly about to break out in song, I briefly wonder if he’ll have a decent singing voice, and I find out soon enough as he belts out the easily recognizable first notes to All I Want for Christmas is You . His voice is off-pitch and scratchy, and I genuinely can’t tell if he’s being bad on purpose or not. Everyone starts laughing and I can’t help but join in.
When he gets to the end of the first verse, he takes Diana’s hand and gives the back of it an exaggerated kiss. We give him a round of applause as he takes his seat. Jake gives Kyle the hat while we take our drink for the round.
It doesn’t surprise me that Kyle chooses Thomus, I only worry what he’ll make him do. He’s looking around, trying to come up with an idea until his eyes land on Thomus’ drink in his hand.
“Malfoy, I triple doxy dare you to… finish yours and Alder’s drinks in one go.”
Thomus scoffs. “And here I thought you were going to pick something difficult.” He quickly finishes the rest of his punch in a few gulps before trading glasses with me. “Tada,” he proudly announces after easily downing the rest of mine, then he stands holding our four empty glasses by the rim in one hand. “Drink up.”
As Thomus goes across the room to refill our punch, Kyle leans forward, staring at me intently.
“We need to get him drunk,” he hisses low.
I blink at him in surprise, then jump my gaze first to Thomus’ back and then to the rest of the group. No one seems as surprised as I am. Even Roosevelt, who I overheard someone refer to him as Eric, doesn’t bat an eye. Is everyone in on this plot?
“That’s your plan?” Will asks incredulously.
“It’s the start of one,” Kyle answers. “Get him so drunk he passes out and she can just… leave.”
“Just leave ?” I ask. I look to the windows, searching for that shimmer from the magical barrier from before. “What about -”
“The tattoo doesn’t work here,” Jake quickly adds. “And there aren't any additional wards to trap you here.”
Everyone is looking at me, waiting for my response. My heart has leapt to my throat to block any logistical questions I have before Thomus swoops back into his seat.
“What’s that look for?” Thomus asks me. I quickly snatch the glass he hands me to swallow my thrumming heart back into my chest.
Diana jumps in for my rescue. “I was just telling her about my ex.”
“Oh Merlin,” Thomus groans, slumping back against the loveseat. “It’s not a story about me, is it?”
What? Jesus fuck, these people keep smacking bludgers at me one after another.
I try not to react outwardly to the news that Diana and Thomus used to date, even if this news is just as jarring as the imminent plan for my escape from him. I focus on her, really taking in what she looks like. Extremely tall and willowy with big round hazel eyes and a cupid’s bow mouth. Jealousy flares up inside because I can’t help but compare us. Her thighs combined are the size of just one of mine.
She flips her long dirty blond hair over her shoulder and crosses her legs, perching an elbow on the armrest of her chair. “No, but I ought to, shouldn’t I?”
“Definitely not,” Thomus says, quickly sitting forward with a hand outstretched towards Kyle. “Pass me the hat.” He settles the white faux fur rim of the Santa hat over his dark curls.
“Aye aye, Captain!” they all shout. I’m too anxious and fixate my eyes on my drink, still fizzing on the coffee table in front of me. My mind is racing with all that could potentially happen. Where would I go? How long could I hide? Could I be summoned back because of the tattoo? If the idea is to get me close to Voldemort, wouldn’t fleeing just put a target on my back? I wonder if I’d be able to get a message to Hermione about -
Thomus’ hand brushes down my arm. “Melisa?”
My eyes snap to his, focused on me, and I swallow around nothing. “Yeah? Sorry.”
He gives me a sly smile. “It’s your turn.”
“Alright,” I sigh, making a face. “Lay it on me.”
He takes a deep breath and I expect it to be something genuinely challenging, but in all honesty it’s a bit underwhelming. “I dare you to sing the alphabet… backwards.”
I snort. “Jokes on you because I was taught that in the second grade.”
“Oh, I’m sure,” he grins. “Let’s hear it, then.”
Looking at him, I feel less nervous about making a fool of myself in front of everyone else. So I start to sing, keeping my eyes on him or on his person, because after a few moments the prolonged eye contact makes my face heat.
Even after I’m finished with the letters, I keep going with the end of the song. “ Now we know our ZYXs’, next time we will go to Texas. ”
Will laughs. “Why the fuck are we going to Texas?”
I shrug. “I don’t know. Ask Mr. Morley.”
“Who the fuck is that?”
“My elementary school music teacher,” I reply smoothly. “Now drink the fuck up.”
Jake is the first to finish his drink, so he stands to get a refill. “We should play something else. All our dares suck, no ones gotten out yet.”
“I’ve got a good one,” I say quickly. I’d taken a drink, too, because why not? Who wants to make hard decisions sober?
I pluck the Santa hat off Thomus’ head and slip it over mine. “You ready, Will?”
Will squares his shoulders, facing me dead on, expression serious. “Born ready.”
“I dare you to recite a poem - any poem, but you -” I start to blow a raspberry with my tongue in between every word “- have to talk like this.”
Will snickers. “You got that from Spongebob.”
“So what if I did? You still gotta do it,” I smile. “And I don’t think I heard my ‘aye aye, Captain’.”
Jake and Kyle are the only ones who don’t say it. Kyle is lost in his thoughts if his dead eye stare at his drink is evidence enough, and Jake is too far away at the food and drinks table to care.
It’s hard to keep the grin off my face as Will complies with my dare. “ Mosquito lands on my cheek. I try to slap her, but I just slap me. ” He finishes by standing with a bow.
“That’s it?” Diana protests. “It was so short.”
“It’s a haiku,” Thomus explains. “A type of Japanese poem.”
“Oh, yeah that’s right,” she says. “Do you still work for the Daily Prophet? Or has that taken a backseat for… other things?”
“A bit of both, really,” he sighs. “The Dark Lord hasn’t required much of me lately, so I’ve been helping Barnabas Cuffe with editing. In addition to helping my sister-in-law with the New Year’s Eve Gala she’s hosting.”
“Speaking of,” Jake says, rejoining the group, “why weren’t we invited?” It’s obvious he’s not really offended, just genuinely curious.
Thomus sighs and speaks with a hint of resentment. “Only the Sacred Twenty-Eight and whoever’s crawled up through the Dark Lord’s ranks, I’m afraid. Not even the Lots are allowed to be present.”
“Well, if you’re free, Melisa,” Diana says, speaking to me. “You’re welcome to come to a New Years Eve party here. It would just be us and a few of my girlfriends from Oxford.”
I’m genuinely shocked and flattered that this goddess is inviting me to a party, but I know that this has to be a backup plan for escape if tonight doesn’t go as Kyle wants it. I don’t even get a chance to respond because Thomus puts a possessive hand on my leg, wedging his long fingers into the tight space between my thighs.
“Unfortunately, that’s not possible,” Thomus says, speaking for me with a tone of finality, and doesn’t even bother to explain why.
She peers at us curiously for a moment before realization dawns. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I totally forgot.”
The tray with all our mini shot cauldrons fill back up as Thomus just gives a silent nod of acknowledgement.
We play another couple rounds of Captain before all the drinks finally start to do their job and loosen everyone up. I know I’m starting to feel it, especially when I stand to go find a bathroom.
Thomus insists on accompanying me, especially when I steer towards the bathroom down by the kitchens. He takes me back out to the lobby, showing me where the bathrooms are there. Secretly, I’m glad, because I don’t think I’d be able to make it up and down all those stairs without tripping at least once. I don’t think Thomus would either, based on how many times he bumps into me.
He even follows me into the women’s bathroom, insisting that it doesn’t matter since we’re the only ones in there.
“I didn’t realize how clingy you were,” I tease, saddling my way into one of the stalls to do my business.
He slides into the one next to me. “Oh, poppycock. I’m just being a gentleman and making sure you don’t fall in.”
My laugh is sharp and loud in the echoey bathroom. “That actually happened to me when I was in preschool. The seat wasn’t down so my butt got all wet and I just sat there waiting to be rescued by a teacher.”
I hear his warm chuckle. “How old were you?”
“Four,” I say as I finish and leave the stall to wash my hands. He joins me a moment later, still chuckling to himself. “What?”
He shakes his head absently. “Nothing, you’re just… adorable.”
I snort as I reach for a paper towel. “Right.”
He dries his hands too and quickly reaches for me as I try to pass him to the door. He leans back against the counter, a hand on my hip and one on my cheek, pulling me towards him. I don’t resist and lean into him, our lips quickly meeting. My arms snake around his waist, wanting a hug at the same time, because it strikes me that if I leave tonight… this could be it.
I still have a million doubts and questions that need answered, but right now… right now he wants me and I need to bask in it for as long as I can, while I still have the chance.
I deepen the kiss and I boldly slip one of my hands to the front of his jeans. He’s already semi-hard, but at my touch, he groans and bites my lip.
“You want to do this here?” he asks, his voice husky.
I nod, my other hand coming around to undo his pants and slip my hand inside. “I want you so bad.”
He drags kisses along my jaw and down my neck. “It’ll have to be quick.”
“And hard,” I breathe, practically panting with want already.
Determination in his movements now, he flips us around until my fupa is pressed against the sink counter and he’s grinding against my ass. He moves my hair away from my neck, sensually kissing the soft spot below my ear. Over my sweater his hands slowly grope down from my chest, then my stomach and the fleshy “handles”, as he’s called them before, where my fupa meets my hips.
I push my ass back against him. “I thought you said we had to be quick.”
He bites my neck, wringing a moan from me. “Patience,” he warns.
One hand lets go of my handle and slips underneath to firmly cup the junction between my legs. I sigh heavily and whine, rocking my hips, increasing the pressure on my clit.
“Fuck,” he groans out. Finally he hooks his fingers into my waistband and yanks my pants and undies down to my knees. I push my ass out towards him when he takes a step back to pull his cock out. He moans when his tip pushes through my lips, feeling how wet I am. Then he doesn’t waste a second longer and slides home.
I cry out, biting my lip in an attempt to keep it muffled. I plant my hands on the smooth cold counter and immediately start rocking back and forth, desperately impatient. With a hand on the center of my back, he pushes me forward while snapping his hips to my ass, seamlessly sliding into the pace I’d set. Quick staccato slapping echoes around the room as he thrusts hard and deep. My eyes roll back into my head, hardly aware of the noises I’m making because I’m too busy losing my mind to the pleasure.
He slows all too soon, pulling me back up to attach his mouth to my neck again. My back bends to accommodate him, and while still keeping him buried to the hilt, my chest juts out. He takes advantage of the position and pushes my sweater up until his fingers find the band of my bra and he pushes that up too. My heavy breasts fall into his hands and he groans, pinching my nipples, and fucking into me with slow, but hard thrusts.
My eyes flutter open briefly, a sudden urge to see. He’s fucked me in front of a mirror before, but he hasn’t done it since I’ve gotten my sight back. Admittedly, I have a bit of an out of body experience, looking at what’s happening instead of feeling it. I hate what I look like, of course. Sometimes in my head I look different than I really do and seeing myself in the mirror can be pretty jarring.
But then I look at Thomus’ face. He’s so… wrapped up in me, hands full, mind clearly numb with ecstasy.
I close my eyes again, grimacing, swallowing down the sudden onslaught of longing and loss. It’s probably all the alcohol, but tears fill my vision because I just can’t bear losing this. I quickly blink them away, avoiding looking in the mirror again.
I don’t want to ruin the moment, so I start pushing back against him again, urging him to pick up the pace.
He obliges me for a few moments until he slows to a stop. He’s still panting and holding me against him before he sighs heavily.
“Darling, you feel amazing, but I don’t think I can finish,” he murmurs hesitantly, sounding regretful.
I nod, sniffling. “It’s okay, we can stop.”
He pulls out and I swiftly right myself, pants back over my hips, bra holding what it should, sweater in the right place. It’s only then that I look in the mirror again. Luckily he didn’t bite me too hard, so there’s no hickey to cover up. I just wet my fingers and run them through my hair before flipping it back over. Leaning close to the mirror, I check that my makeup is still good.
“Were you crying?” he asks point blank, staring at me in the mirror.
“No,” I lie, but I feel a river about to gush out of my nose, so I quickly snag a paper towel and blow into it. “I just had to sneeze real bad and didn’t wanna ruin the moment.”
Fully dressed again, he slides a hand down my butt, gripping it appreciatively. “I’d be happy to help you finish,” he suggests.
I shake my head. “No, it’s okay,” I say, forcing a reassuring smile on my face. I rock up onto the balls of my feet to plant a quick kiss on his cheek. “Still scratched that itch and felt amazing.”
He takes my hand, pulling me to the door. “Then let’s get back. Hopefully they won’t give us too much grief for taking so long.” He smirks down at me and winks. Actually winks . It's such a quick thing, but it makes my heart contract in my chest with the need to be wrapped up in him again.
God I’m so fucked.
~*~
As predicted, when we return Will and Jake are quick to wolf whistle. They’re over by the music and Thomus joins them while I sink into his seat next to Diana. My face has got to be as red as my sweater, but Diana doesn’t comment on it. She just hands me a full shot cauldron with an understanding look. Grateful, I take the shot. Getting dicked down sobered me a bit more than I wanted.
Eric is busy scribbling away in a little notebook and next to him is Kyle and his stupid judgmental face.
I ignore him and focus on Diana. “So what did you study at Oxford?”
“I studied Art History,” she says, “but I didn’t get, like, a degree or anything. I just wanted to know a little more about the art I was seeing in the museums here.”
“That’s one thing I haven’t done since I’ve gotten to England,” I say. “I used to love going to museums.”
She tilts her head, looking curious. “Were you meant to stay long?”
I shrug. “I had an internship at the Daily Prophet, which I’d been hoping would lead to a full time position at some point.”
“Oh, so you worked with Thomus then?” she asks. “You knew him… before.”
“No, actually,” I say, reaching over for my punch. “I… He wasn’t around all that much while I was there.”
“What gives with the Deathly Hallows mark on the tree?” Kyle asks out of the blue. “You know it’s just a story, right?”
Diana, who’s clearly much more sober than Kyle is right now, looks at him without mirth. “It’s very real.”
I nod along, knowing all too well the truth behind the Deathly Hallows.
“Grindelwald murdered a lot of our family with the Elder Wand,” Diana continues. “Not to mention, I’ve seen invisibility cloaks with my own eyes.” She grimaces. “And yes, I know what I just said is an oxymoron.”
With another pull of my drink, I feel gutsy enough to ask something that’s been on my mind for a while. I lean closer to her and lower my voice. “So… has your brother… always been… “ I sigh. I feel silly saying ‘on our side’, but how else can I put it? “I don't know, I guess I'm asking about allegiances.”
Kyle gives me an ‘are you serious’ look. “Of course he’s been in on it,” he says, as if it should’ve been obvious.
“The entire time?” I ask skeptically, distinctly remembering how not nice he was when we met the night Montague got beat the fuck up by Thomus.
“He’s playing the long game,” Diana explains. “Jake’s very good at wasting The Great Order’s time.”
Her eyes are on the three men in the corner and I turn to look just as the three of them take a shot. “Does Thomus know?” I ask, my voice low.
“Thomus is under the impression that Jake just has reservations about certain things,” she says.
“Participating without actually participating,” I surmise.
She nods. “Exactly.” Her gaze is drawn to Eric, and she stares at him for a moment before she asks, “What happened to your hand, Eric?”
Eric looks up, seeming to have forgotten where he was. He looks around and finds the three of us looking at him. Then the question seems to sink in and he looks down at his hand. Bandages wrap around his palm and twist up his two middle fingers.
“Oh, I uh, had a bit of an accident a few days ago,” he says. “Working on the…“ He eyes me for a second before looking back at Diana. “On the thing.”
“You don’t have to speak in code,” Kyle says to him. “She can handle a few more secrets.”
I nod in agreement, though really it has nothing to do with how good I am at keeping secrets. I’m just too nosey for my own good.
“Right, sure, yeah,” Eric says. He looks down at his notebook. “I’m having a bit of a timing issue. I think I’ve got the explosive strong enough, but it seems the stronger it gets, the less time I have before it goes off.”
I quickly glance back at Thomus, catching him downing another shot, before turning back and whispering, “You’re building a bomb?”
He nods. “Something powerful enough to break through Anti-Apparition wards.”
My eyes widen. “That’s a thing?”
The corners of his mouth turn up in an amused grin. “I’m definitely trying to make it one.”
“Do you have the recipe?” I ask, a bit eager. “I’ve had a similar issue with magical film developer. I might be able to help.”
“Yeah, here.” He flips through a couple pages until he lands on a spread that’s definitely got more use than the rest, then passes it to me.
As I scan the page, I see that a few of the core ingredients are the same, just how they’re incorporated is slightly different. The measurements are also scaled down for testing purposes.
“If this were to scale, how much willow root would you add?” I ask.
“The entire root, but I chop it up.”
“If you grind it down into a powder and then weigh it, it’s easier to be more precise with the amount you add,” I explain, not looking up from the page. “And you’re not adding nearly enough bursting mushroom powder.”
When I look up, Eric’s head is tilted, his eyes unfocused, his mind clearly running away from him with this new information. “Interesting,” he says.
“Magical film developing potion always implodes on itself. It’s just a fact. But I’ve made it so much that I can time it down to the second it’ll implode,” I explain. “Would you… want me to write the recipe down for you? Then you can compare.”
He blinks back into focus, nodding eagerly. “Yes, please do. Here.” He passes me his pen and I quickly jot down my recipe on the next available page in his book.
By the time I’m done, the music gets turned up, and the three in the corner start making their way over to us. I toss down the rest of my drink before reaching for Thomus’, but Kyle stops me.
“Don’t,” he warns.
I quickly put two and two together. “What did you put in here?” I demand with a hushed voice.
“Relax,” he says, standing. “It’s just something to speed things up.”
Completely oblivious, Thomus plops right down next to me, swinging his arm around my shoulders.
“Is that mine?” he asks, not bothering to wait for my response before he grabs his drink and chugs it. He audibly plonks the glass onto the coffee table and turns to me, grinning mischievously from ear to ear, looking like he has a dirty secret he can’t wait to share with me. I return his smile with a hesitant one of my own.
He leans close to speak in my ear, though he’s not exactly quiet. “Have I told you how beautiful you are?”
My face immediately flushes because everyone heard that. I look around in panic to find everyone staring at us, too. Their expressions aren’t of disgust, though, just surprise.
“Oh my god,” I say, covering my face with my hands. I shoot to my feet. “I need a drink.”
As I speed away, I hear Thomus ask, “What did I say?”
I glance over my shoulder to see Diana covering her mouth in a fit of giggles and Jake shakes his head. “Dude.”
I’m munching on one of my red cookies when Thomus comes up behind me, his hand drifting down my back to settle on my waist. “What’s the matter?” he asks.
“Nothing. You just -” I glance up at him, noting his dilated pupils and flushed cheeks. “I guess I’ve just never seen you so relaxed. Especially around other people. And we’re acting like we’re…” My heart’s thundering in my chest as I force the last few words out. “Like we’re a couple.”
He turns to face me and leans a hip on the table. “You’re right, it is a bit out of our usual routine,” he admits, his expression serious. “I apologize if I’ve made you uncomfortable.”
I sigh and shrug a shoulder. “No more than you usually do.” I put my hand over his where it rests on the table, pushing the tips of my fingers against his knuckles. “And I don’t hate… this, how it feels, you know? It’s just hard to pair it with everything else,” I say. “If that makes sense.”
He nods slowly, looking down at our hands. “This is all new for me, if you can believe it,” he says softly. “I just wanted you to enjoy yourself.”
I bump his hip with mine. “Hey, we fucked in the bathroom. I’d say I'm having a decent time.”
He snickers and leans in to kiss my cheek. “I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
I don’t know how to respond to that, based on tonight’s agenda, but luckily Will calls us over from a card table Jake summoned to play Exploding Snap.
~*~
A little while later we’re all sitting around the card table. I’ve elected not to play since I don’t have my wand and technically Thomus doesn’t know that they know I have my magic.
Throughout the game, Thomus gets noticeably drunker than everyone else, despite only sipping his drink. During one round while waiting for his turn, I guess all the drinks and whatever Kyle spiked his drink with, finally catch up with him. He passes out with his head propped in one hand and the other loosely clutching his cards.
When they notice, the room goes silent except for the Christmas music still playing. Kyle slowly reaches over and shakes Thomus’ shoulder, making his head fall right onto the table with an ominous thunk that does not match the vibe of McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime .
I stare at his face, overwhelmingly anxious about his well-being, when an uncharacteristic snore breaks through the silence between songs.
“Finally,” Jake sighs, tossing his cards onto the table and running a hand over his face. “You sure about this, Kyle? There’s no turning back from this.”
Kyle stands, pulling out his wand. “Trust me. This is the only way.’
“What happens now?” I ask.
Kyle moves Thomus’ unconscious form into the air where he hovers with his arms and head dangling.
But he doesn’t answer me.
“ Kyle ,” I press, “what happens now?”
“Now, we put him to bed and by the time he wakes in the morning, you’ll be long gone,” he answers, moving with Thomus towards the stairs on the other side of the room.
I stand too, quickly following him to demand answers. “Where, exactly, will I be?”
“That’s up to you,” he answers casually. “You can probably get away with hiding here in this massive fucking house until he leaves.”
“What, you think he’s just gonna accept that I’m gone?” I ask. “No questions asked?”
“Yeah, we’ll just tell him you must’ve left in the middle of the night or something. What room am I putting him in, Jake?”
We’ve gotten to the stairs and it’s only then I realize everyone has followed us, with Will right behind me.
“Three doors down from the top of the stairs,” Jake answers. “On the left.”
I realize it’s the same room he put us in before and my face heats at the memory of being bound to the wall and fingered within an inch of my life. We get into the room and I rush forward to pull the velvety soft duvet back from the pillows. Kyle gently lowers him and I make sure he’s settled properly to avoid potentially choking on his own vomit in his sleep.
“What now?” I ask, pulling off Thomus’ shoes and tucking his legs under the blankets before pulling up the unfitted sheet to his chest.
“Merlin,” Kyle exclaims. “Will you quit it?”
I cross my arms over my chest. “ No , I won’t,” I say tightly. “We need this figured out before there’s no going back.”
“Fine,” he says, mimicking my stance and leaning against the wall. “What’re you so worried about?”
I take a deep breath, trying to speak calmly. “What makes you so sure he’s not going to find me?”
“What do you mean?”
“He’s literally the Death Eater’s best tracker.”
“He hasn’t found George Weasley,” Will says.
“I’ve no fucking idea how George has managed to avoid getting caught by anyone , given how much of a high profile he has, but there’s no way I could do the same and be close to Voldemort like you want. A missing Lot? The Death Eaters are gonna go apeshit.”
“What about that Lot that escaped early on? Killed her owner and everything,” Kyle says.
“I’m pretty positive she’s straight up left the country,” I say, talking with my hands. “And I don’t think any of us are on board with killing him.”
Kyle nearly rolls his eyes. “I never said we had to kill him,” he says. “You’re here, out of your wards. There’s no need.”
“Okay, well me leaving the country is the exact opposite of what we want,” I say and start to pace. “How long would I be hiding?”
“I don’t know,” Kyle answers, shrugging. “Could be months.”
“Great, so you’re just gonna come get me when it’s time to, what, attack Hogwarts? Do you really think there’s gonna be another fight there? Or are we waiting for him to make an appearance somewhere?”
“I’ve heard he’s pretty reclusive right now, actually,” Will pipes in. “He hardly leaves the school.”
“Great!” I exclaim with fake enthusiasm. “So I’ll just camp out in the Forbidden Forest, then? Take my chances at running into Dementors, Death Eaters, centaurs, fuckin’ giant spiders , for fucks’ sake?”
“Girl’s got a point, Kyle,” Jake says, shoving his hands in his pockets and leaning against the ornate bed post.
“Well, what else is she going to do? She’s useless to The True Order just playing house with a Malfoy,” Kyle says.
“Hey, I’ve done stuff,” I protest. “I’ve passed important notes to the Order, hidden a fugitive right under Thomus’ nose, and it was me who got the word to that safehouse that it was going to be raided.”
“ What ?!” Jake looks at me absolutely stunned. “That was you?”
“Yes! Who else in that room from the meeting would’ve tipped them off?” I ask. “ And I’ve managed to become immune to that scary as shit magic suppression potion. Have you ever taken that shit? It’s utterly terrifying to not have your magic.” I stop my pacing and look around at all of them. “To be completely at the mercy of someone who couldn’t give a shit whether you lived or died? We’ve all been sterilized and raped and branded as property. ”
I pull my left sleeve up, bearing the tattoo and the scars Bellatrix left me. Diana’s visibly horrified and everyone else just looks mildly uncomfortable. “And these are just the scars I’m willing to show you.”
I force myself to calm down, breathing deep in through my nose and out my mouth. “I’m not going to jump headfirst into a plan held together with Spellotape and superglue,” I say after a moment. “Thomus trusts you guys. Aren’t you his best friend, Jake? Are you really gonna break his trust by losing something he obviously has put a lot of time and effort into keeping alive?”
Kyle is glaring hard at the carpet and Jake's intense focus jumps between me and Thomus.
Jake exhales heavily. “She’s right.”
My shoulder’s sag with relief. “Thank you.”
“We have to think of a legitimate way to get you away from him,” Diana says. “Do you think he’d ever… let you go?”
I frown. “Like… set me free?”
She nods. “Then maybe you could get scooped up by another Death Eater or something, someone who works more closely with You-Know-Who or who’d… loan you, I guess.”
I turn around to gaze at Thomus, sleeping soundly, and recall every possessive look or grab he’s given me. “No,” I say softly. “There’s no way he’d let me go willingly.”
Kyle snorts. “Yeah I second that. The asshole nearly slits my throat if I even talk to her when he’s not around.”
“Even if I could convince him somehow,” I say, “it wouldn’t matter what he wanted. I know he’d use the Death Eaters as an excuse. He couldn’t pretend I was gone if someone saw me. The Malfoy’s reputation and the trust the Dark Lord has in them would be put in jeopardy. There’s no way he’d risk the lives of his family.”
“Is there anybody that out ranks him?” Will asks. “Someone who could make that choice for him.”
“I’m not sure, really,” I admit. “I’m sure there is, but I don’t know who. Someone older, like his brother maybe?”
“We just need a reason for them to take you from him,” Jake explains. “Like a change of… ownership.”
“Who, though?” I ask. “And why?”
“Probably best if that’s something for us to figure out,” Kyle says pointedly. “Just in case.”
I sigh heavily and start heading towards the door. “Whatever. All I care about is that it’s legit, okay? Something that’s not gonna get any of us killed.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Will agrees, stepping out of my way. “Where’re you going?”
“To stand outside and pretend that I’m free.”
Hide, One Shot
Thank you! Hope you like it. slowlybeautifulprincess submitted: A Daddy Dom Tom with his little who's being bratty please and if you could add some smut! Thanks and glad you're back!!
-
Tom was always calm. Even when his little was really trying his patience, the only tell tale sign that he was irritated was the way his jaw was clenching.
But of course, she just found that hot. She was in a bratty mood and really pushing her luck while they were out at a friend’s birthday party.
She was being a bit flirty with some of the other guys that were there. Just light touches on their shoulders and laughing a bit over the top at their jokes. But she had felt neglected of late by Tom, as he’d been so busy with doing the Betrayal play. So she decided to get his attention tonight, in any way possible.
And it was certainly working.
Tom walked over to her and put his arm firmly around her middle, tugging her into his side. He forced a sweet smile at the two people she was talking to.
‘May I steal my lady for a moment?’ He said charmingly.
‘Of course.’ They laughed.
She didn’t have an option as Tom dragged her through the party, to the side of the room. He kept a tight hold of her and leaned right down to whisper roughly into her ear.
‘We are leaving. Right now. You are in so much trouble when we get home, little girl.’
She shivered and while part of her wanted to melt into a puddle and just do as he said… She smirked and turned more into him, so no one would see, she leaned up as best she could and licked up his neck.
Tom’s eyes darkened and he glared down at her. He wished he hadn’t let her wear heels so she wouldn’t have been able to reach him to do that. His grip had loosened around her at the action, so she took that opportunity to flee from him to get another drink from the bar.
By the time he had composed himself again and reached her, she was sipping a drink. Looking innocent as she sucked from the straw, fluttering her eyelashes at him. But they both knew she was far from innocent.
But Tom wasn’t in the mood for playing anymore. He went up to her and plucked the glass right out of her hand, not caring if anyone saw by this point, not that anyone was really focused on them anyway. He removed the straw and downed the drink himself, making her eyes widen.
‘Home. Now.’ He growled deep and took hold of her wrist tightly.
‘Yes, Daddy…’ She whispered meekly. There was part of her that desperately wanted to submit, it was starting to overshadow her bratty side.
Tom said nothing as he led her outside and hailed a taxi. Even in the back seat on the way home, he said nothing. He was calm as anything, and that always made her a little nervous, wondering what he had up his sleeve for when they got home… Her stomach began twisting in a mixture of nerves and excitement.
She knew better than to try pushing her luck anymore, so she kept quiet too.
When they returned home, Tom stopped them at the end of the path. He handed the keys to her and gripped her chin firmly, making her look at him.
‘You get a ten second head start, little girl. When I catch you, and I will catch you… Your backside is going to be redder than a tomato.’ He growled low.
She swallowed hard and tried to ignore the way she had to clench her thighs together. Tom spun her round to face the house and swatted her backside once, in a warning of what was to come. And it was a hard swat.
She let out a squeak and headed up the path.
‘One.’ He called out, folding his arms over his chest as he watched her.
She broke into a run for the last few steps to the door. She had adrenaline and excitement running through her veins as she tried to unlock the door.
‘Two.’
Her hands were shaking so badly she struggled to get the key into the lock. Tom had to hold back a smirk at seeing her predicament.
‘Three.’
‘Fuck!’ She hissed, only just loud enough so Tom could hear.
‘Language.’ He growled. ‘Four.’
She managed to finally get the key in and turned, the door opened and she didn’t bother to take the key out. She jumped inside and quickly kicked off her heels. She abandoned her bag by the door too and sprinted off through the house, hoping to find somewhere to hide.
When Tom reached ten, he stalked up the path and into the house. He plucked the key out of the keyhole and shut the door with a loud bang, so she would hear he was inside from wherever she was. He took some extra time to lock the door behind him and put the key in his pocket, incase she tried to leg it back out the front door.
‘Ready or not, here I come.’ He called out into the house.
He took his time searching around downstairs first. All the nooks and crannies where she could have squeezed herself into, but there was no sign. So he headed upstairs.
He checked their room first, but she wasn’t in there or the en-suite. So he went into one of the spare rooms. It was furnished and decorated like a kid’s room because sometimes her nieces came to stay.
They had a bunk bed and at first Tom didn’t think much of it, until he noticed his dressing gown was hanging at the end of the bunk bed. Again, he almost didn’t think too much of it not being where it normally was, until it moved ever so slightly.
Then he realised it was bulging out more. He smirked as he took a few steps over and plucked it off. Revealing his baby girl clinging to the corner of the bunk bed, curled up with her legs.
Tom dropped his gown and nearly doubled over with laughter, unable to stay serious.
She giggled too as she hopped down from her hiding spot. Though she tried to bolt past Tom, he still reached out and grabbed her simply with one of his long arms. He was still laughing.
‘What on earth gave you that idea?’ He asked.
‘I saw it online once and thought it looked like a smart idea.’ She laughed and tried snuggling into him since she wasn’t getting anywhere anyway.
‘Just because you had a ridiculously good, yet hilarious, idea for a hiding spot, doesn’t mean you’re getting off with it, little one.’ He chuckled and slid his hand down to squeeze her bum. He lifted her up into his arms and held her up by her bum.
She hid her face into his neck. ‘Have mercy… please Daddy.’ She whispered.
‘Do you think you deserve to be shown any mercy?’ He asked as he starting walking through to their bedroom with her.
She said nothing for a minute, then answered quietly. ‘No.’
‘Correct answer, little one. You were very bratty today, which is very out of character for you.’ He sat down on the bed and draped her across his lap on her stomach, making her yelp as she was suddenly in a very compromising position.
He flipped her dress up and tugged down her knickers around her thighs. He began massaging her ass. Then without warning, he raised his hand up and brought it down hard on her. She let out a yelp, then again and again as he started spanking her thoroughly.
As usual, whilst it hurt quite badly because he had a mean swing when he wanted to, it was arousing her.
Though on the tenth swat, she broke down sobbing. Tom began softly massaging her bum again, and he slid his hand down a bit between her thighs and growled when he discovered she was wet.
‘Oh my, little one, you are far too aroused for just being punished.’ He rumbled low, sending more shivers of pleasure through her.
He slid his long fingers through her folds and over her clit in circles, making her whimper. He teased her clit for a while, then inserted two fingers into her, slowly and firmly dragging against her g spot. Then once she was panting and squirming like mad on his lap, he removed his fingers from her.
‘Daddyyyyyy.’ She cried out.
‘It was supposed to be a punishment, not a reward, baby girl.’ He moved her up so she was straddling over him, facing him. She pulled a bit of a face as her bum felt raw and sore against his jeans.
He cradled the back of her head and rubbed her back as he pulled her into him. She hid her face against his neck and he felt her tremble.
‘Do you know why I had to punish you, my little love?’
She nodded against him. ‘I… I’m sorry, Daddy. I just… I haven’t seen you much lately. I wanted to get your attention.’ She said sheepishly.
Tom leaned back a bit and frowned. ‘Sweetheart, you should have used your words and just told me. You don’t need to act out to get my attention. I know I’ve been busy lately, I’m sorry that you felt I was neglecting you.’ He brushed her cheek with the back of his hand.
‘I… I thought it would be more fun this way.’ She bit her lower lip and squirmed a bit.
Tom chuckled and pressed a kiss to her forehead. ‘You do just need a good spanking now and then, don’t you?’
She just blushed in response, making him laugh.
I’ll Be Home Soon- Tom Hiddleston xreader fan fic
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Summary: Tom is leaving to go film Loki season 2 and Y/N takes him to the airport personally to say goodbye
Warnings: angsty & a lot of fluff and cute moments, tear jerker, mentions of Loki season 2 but no spoilers, this is gonna be kind of a sad one I’m sorry lovelies, let me know if I miss anything
~Tom’s POV~
I was packing to go film Loki season 2 and I was really excited to continue playing Loki again. I finished packing the rest of what I needed and I got my phone out to call a cab to take me to the airport but then my girlfriend Y/N came in the room and said “hey Tom would it be ok if I took you to the airport this time? I wanna be able to say goodbye to you there if that’s alright?” I smiled taking her hands in mine and said “I would love it if you took me, thank you my love.” I kissed her knuckles and grabbed my bags to carry them to the front door and Y/N said “ok got everything honey?..” I looked at my bags and said “Yep I believe so, do you have the car keys?” She grabbed the keys from the key holder and her purse and said “yep I’ve got them, lets go.”
I put my bags in the trunk and the ride there I noticed Y/N was quiet while she drove & when we got to the airport I grabbed my bags and we walked in and I checked in my bags & noticed Y/N was squeezing my hand not wanting to let go while we walked to the gate, I hated seeing her look so sad everytime I was leaving for a work trip. I’m just glad Y/N wanted to take me to the airport today, I was happy she was walking me to my gate, I hate walking in an airport alone and it’s harder saying goodbye at home. I held her hand on our way to the gate and we’d look at each other every so often and I almost cried knowing I was leaving her again. Y/N saw a cafe on the way and said “wanna grab a snack before we get your gate love?” I did feel kinda hungry so I smiled and said “good idea darling, let’s eat something. We both bought a sandwich and a drink and sat down to eat and I told her what the plan was for Loki and she would smile at me the whole time while I talked and I loved how she was always a great listener. Y/N finished eating and said “I’m so excited to see the new season Tom it sounds amazing, I couldn’t be more proud of you.” I kissed her hand and said “Y/N you are so sweet this is why I love you, we should get walking again.” Y/N nodded and handed me my backpack and I held her hand again on the way to the gate.
~Y/N’s POV~
We got to the gate and Tom took off his carry on backpack off his shoulders and said “darling here come closer please.” I walked closer to Tom and he put his arm around me for a hug and I smiled putting my arms around him & I started crying a bit in his chest and Tom lifted my chin up so I’d look at him and he wiped away my tears and said “Y/N please don’t cry my love, I promise I won’t be gone too long ok? I love you so much and I love that you came to see me off please don’t cry because if you do, I won’t want to leave you.” I laughed a bit while wiping my face and said “ok ok, I’m sorry Tom. I just love you so much and I hate being apart from you it’s hard but I hope you have fun I’m so excited for you getting to play Loki again.”
Tom smiled and said “I love you so much, and I promise I’ll be home soon ok? I will walk out and give you the biggest hug, nothing will keep me from coming back to you.”
Tom pulled me closer and leaned in to kiss me and we heard the annoucement for his flight and I said “ time to go, oh! One more thing I may have snuck something into your suitcase for you, to remind you of me.” Tom smiled pulling me in for one last kiss and said “you are adorable Y/N, I have to go now sadly but I will be back I promise you.” I nodded and said “I know you will Tom, go. I’ll be here when you come home, fly safe I love you.” He walked down to the plane waving to me and I watched his plane take off doing my best not to cry though I already missed him a lot but I knew he would be home again soon.
Hey lovelies! I thought I’d write a Tom Hiddleston xreader fan fic since I had been writing more Loki fics 😊 I thought the idea for this one was cute, I hope you enjoy 💚🤍🤗xx
Ok hiddles fans, I have a question, how good are your ao3 search powers??
I'm trying to help someone find a fic, I've copied their description of it below.
Anyone know it??
"Hello everyone, I read this Tom Hiddleston fanfic 2-3+ years ago on AO3, but since then I’ve lost it and cannot seem to find it since. I don’t remember the author or the title (though the latter feels like it exists somewhere in the back of my mind. I think it was a short title).
The premise is as follows: it is a time jump story where the years constantly flip back from the past (OCxTom’s years at Cambridge) and the present (Tom with his acting career)
The main character, Hecate, transfers over to Cambridge school for her research (some STEM related major), and there she meets Tom, who is studying Theatre and the arts.
She has a past reputation and he’s emotionally worn down because of a toxic ex, but the two have an obvious attraction and form a friendship.
Fast-forward to the present, Tom is the Tom Hiddleston we all know and love and Hecate is a mother of a child (a daughter she’s had with another man whom she married, not Tom). Tom is in a relationship with a reporter/journalist.
Other details: Hecate has two sisters, and a younger brother (they are kind of in the spotlight because of their parents, iirc at least one of them was a writer or had some job with literature/media).
There are little snippets here and there but I feel like they’d lead to a digression so I’ll stop here. I really hope someone has an answer to this, thanks in advance! Cheers"
A tea with the goddess
CH:5
My Indian Nymph
He still can't believe this was happening. It was small shop, a nice, homely ambience, with small tea tables and chairs. And currently he was sitting in front of a wonderful woman with a steaming cup of chai, as they call it, held in their hands.
She couldn't believe this was happening. She bought him to her secret place and she didn't know why something in him, his blue eyes made her want to trust him ever since she saw him during that night. Now here she was sharing tea with a stranger, a beautiful stranger.
It was a little awkward neither of them knowing what to say until.....
"This chai tea is nice and i do find myself enjoying one after a long day at work"
She laughed....oh was it melodic.....thought he
"You do realize chai and tea are the same right Tom"
Eheheheh
Why did she find his giggle sexy and adorable at the same time?
"So, Tom how is your stay in India so far?", way to go Adhya wonderful question.
"The atmosphere is different and it's good so far but I've not been to many places yet darling but so far I am enjoying it", he said running his hand through his hair.
Is his hair soft, wait why am i thinking about that damn it Adhya stop staring, wait did he ask me something.....oh GOD..
"Uhmmmm, i beg your pardon sorry, what did you ask?", Adorable how is she doing that
"I asked whether you can be my tour guide for the evening darling, if you're free of course." he asked nervously.
Please say yes, please say yes.....please darling...
How can she refuse this man practically giving her an expression of a kicked puppy, with his brows scrunched up  and his eyes all glassy ....wait is he....is he pouting....oh god.
"Of course Tom, how about at 5pm"
Well let's say he may or may not have hugged her through his excitement
Hoyaaaaa, a short chapter i know but college sucks mann!!!!
Make Him Regret, Chapter 3 - Conclusion
A/N: Chapter 3 is up, this is the conclusion of the story. There might be a continuation/sequel but it will have a different title and would pick up from where this story left off. This chapter has smut, so I do hope you enjoy!  Tag: @milady-hiddleston, @miruwen, @leah-halliwell92  Sorry if I was unable to find the others, tumbler couldn’t find you :( One more thing! You can also find the story in AO3!
EDIT:  If you want to read the previous chapters here they are here; ONE - Social Media Stalker TWO - Dark Eyes
THREE  Conclusion
Vivienne walks to the wooden dock and looked around to find a few people, taking a late afternoon swim. It wasn’t the season where there are many tourists, which explains the almost empty shore.
She hesitated to remove her skirt wrap for a while, as she felt that her bathing suit looked a little skimpy. Earlier, Mildred who claims to be her ‘stylist’, forced her to wear the swimwear. But looking around, most of the female swimmers wore a skimpier swimwear than her. With a bit of hesitation, she jumps into the cool crystal clear waters of Loch Lomond followed by a big splash, and dove underneath, before rising to the surface once more.
She let herself float, and looked at the blue sky and its white clouds. She felt relaxed and contented, no worries crossing her mind, especially painful thoughts about Tom.
She swam back and forth, near the mid part of the lake and back to the dock. When she finally grew tired of swimming, she swam back to the dock and picked up her things, before heading back to her lodge.
Upon reaching her front door, she quickly entered the room and clicked the lock closed. Proceeding to take off her wet swimwear, she stopped and when she turned around, she found an unexpected face inside her room.
“Don’t stop now... I was enjoying it...”Tom said playfully, and this made Vivienne’s brows furrow. How dare he show up here, when he was the cause of all this trouble.
“What are you doing here Tom? how the hell did you get in here?! This is a private lodge!” she demanded an answer.
“I wanted to see you and talk to you...” was his reply.
“Couldn’t this wait until I reach London?!”
“No...”
With a sigh of resignation, Vivienne opens the door, prompting him to get out. “Would you please leave my room, and wait for me in the living room? I need to bathe and change clothes!”
“Go ahead... it’s not as if I haven’t seen the rest of you...” was his cool reply.
Now Vivienne was fuming mad, how dare he turn up here, after everything he had done to her. She rubbed her forehead in frustration. “I can’t do this right now... I don’t want to listen or fight with you. I’m on this vacation to unwind, and you’re ruining it!” she sighed and looked back up at him. “You should go, I still love you Tom, but everything is different now. So... just leave.”
“You’re right,” he slowly sauntered towards her direction. “Everything is different now, but you still love me...” his mouth curved into a grin.
He leaned down and softly kissed her on the lips, whilst his hand cupped her face.
She shivered at his touch that wracked her body. She used to love the feeling that he gave her. However, things are different now. Despite that, she had never been good at turning down seduction from him, and now that he has approached her again, all of her desire for him felt like it was about to explode any moment now.
His kisses were intoxicating, and she was awash with the drunken feeling. He stopped kissing her and grabbed her hand, pulling her back into her bedroom.
She tried to protest once more, jerking her body out of his grip. But her words got caught in her throat, as he grabbed her shoulders and pushed her back against the wall.
His hands slid up her waist to have a feel of her bare skin. She gasped into his mouth, every nerve responding to him. She hadn’t been touch for months now, but it wasn’t just that.
“T-Tom...” she breathed against his lips.
“Tell me to stop, and I will, but you want this. I want this.”
“I...” she didn’t have the words to respond. She didn’t know what she wanted. Everything was so confusing. She still loves him and wants him, but she felt so conflicted.
“I’ve thought about doing this for weeks...” he kissed her neck and squeezed her arse. “I missed how you tasted, how your skin felt against mine, how it would feel like to have you again,”
His lips engulfed her lower lip and sucked on it. The sensation was too much for her as she closed her eyes and let into her emotions. Vivienne groaned slightly as she opened her mouth to give him better access. Intensifying the searing kiss.
She could feel a groan of approval from Tom, knowing that he too had missed her taste just as much as she had missed his. His hand reaches from her knee, giving it a prod, and lifted it, pushing her up against the wall.
When Tom finally broke the kiss and pulled back, he found himself breathing heavily. Vivienne watched as his chest rose and fall, as her own breath came in pants. Her lips felt tender and swollen, in the best possible way.
“Tom...” she whispered, her body still held against the wall by him. He trailed one long finger across her lips, and it felt so good to her.
She chided herself for being so weak, as her heart was dangerously close to betraying her again. Her head was screaming warning signals that were going unnoticed.
 Her swimwear quickly came undone, as Tom pulls the strap down, and cupped her soft warm breast in his large hands. Rough hands pulled the rest of her swimwear down, as she wriggled out of it.
He pauses for a while and unbuttons his shirt and shrugs it off.  She looks at him admiringly before he took hold of the of her head, and pulled her to meet his mouth, for a long, slow kiss.
Tom carried Vivienne to the inviting bed, their eyes locked in a battle of desire and uncertainty. Vivienne's heart raced, torn between the hurt of the past and the lingering yearning. Tom's gentle touch sent shivers down her spine, heightening her senses.
In the dimly lit room, Tom laid Vivienne down, their connection palpable. The air was filled with a mix of their shared history and the intoxicating scent of desire. Vivienne's emotions swirled within her as Tom's hands explored her body with tender urgency.
Their bodies entwined, passion igniting. Vivienne grappled with conflicting emotions, torn between surrendering to pleasure and guarding her wounded heart. The soft brush of Tom's lips against her neck elicited a sigh of longing and apprehension. Their movements synchronized, blurring the lines between pain and pleasure, as they became lost in a whirlwind of sensations.
"I love you, Vivienne," he whispered with every deep thrust, igniting a fire within her. She yearned to reciprocate, but her voice eluded her. Tom's ardor left her body wrecked, clinging to him as he ravished her. They moved together, their bodies sliding and entangling, strands of wet hair sticking to their flushed faces. Amidst this whirlwind of desire, she lost herself, unsure if the moisture on their skin was his sweat, hers, or a sensuous fusion of their shared fantasies. The room resonated only with the rhythmic collision of their bodies. She tightened her legs around his back, urging him deeper, while his primal grunts reverberated through the air. Just as he teetered on the edge of losing control, he descended to her neck, suckling her sensitive flesh, sending intoxicating shivers down her spine.
That final act unleashed a torrent within Vivienne, propelling her over the precipice of pleasure. Ecstasy coursed through her body, her eyes rolling back, back arching, and her inner walls clenching around his slick shaft, drenched in their combined essence. Waves of pleasure rippled through her, obliterating her sense of time and self, immersing her in euphoric oblivion. For a brief moment, she forgot where she was, who lay atop her. Then, she felt him quiver, succumbing to his own release, his cry of pleasure mingling with her name. Oh, Tom, she whispered within her mind as he spilled his essence deep inside her, thrusting fervently until his body finally stilled, collapsing onto hers in a beautiful mess of passion.
They remained entwined, his face buried in her fragrant tresses, their bodies fused together. Vivienne listened as their breaths gradually steadied, matching the rhythm of their hearts. She planted tender kisses along the contours of his face, his gaze locking with her own, their eyes an interplay of stormy gray meeting azure.
"I love you too, Tom," she murmured, her voice a caress as she admired the strands of her hair cascading over his handsome countenance. He leaned in, meeting her lips in a soft, lingering kiss. The fervor of their earlier passion had dissipated, replaced by a gentler intimacy. Their lips trembled against each other, conveying a myriad of unspoken emotions. Tom rose, extending a helping hand to Vivienne. Her weakened state rendered her unable to walk, but he effortlessly lifted her, cradling her in his arms, and carried her to the sanctuary of her bathroom. With each step, desire and regret entwined within her, weaving a tapestry of longing and consequence, underscoring the weight of her decision to succumb to his seductive allure once more.
----
As the early evening cast its gentle glow upon the room, Vivienne stirred from her slumber. The memories of their passionate encounter in the bathroom and their subsequent lovemaking in the bed lingered, veiled in the intimacy of tangled sheets. Sitting up, she surveyed Tom's handsome face, framed by tousled hair, and his lean, muscular form, the sheets loosely draped around his waist. He slumbered peacefully, unaware of the conflicted emotions coursing through her.
Now fully awake, Vivienne placed her palm against her temple, a wave of regret washing over her. She acknowledged her own vulnerability, chastising herself for succumbing to his seductive allure once again. With a sigh heavy with resignation, she resolved to gather her thoughts and swiftly proceeded to the bathroom, tidying up her disheveled appearance and dressing herself.
As Vivienne moved about the room, combing her hair and delicately spraying perfume, she sensed Tom's gaze upon her. Turning her head, she caught him propping himself up on an elbow, watching her with a familiar appreciation. In that moment, she could feel the weight of their shared history and the magnetic pull between them. His disheveled dark blonde hair and sleepy yet alluring face stirred a longing within her, but she quickly averted her gaze, determined not to succumb to his irresistible allure once more.
With each passing glance, Vivienne felt a mix of conflicting emotions, an internal battle between desire and self-preservation. Though Tom's presence still held a captivating charm, she steeled herself against his seductive aura, knowing the risks that lay in giving in to their shared passion once again.
As Tom got out of bed, Vivienne was taken aback by his nakedness, causing a brief moment of surprise to course through her. He leaned in, planting a soft kiss on her cheek, a tender gesture that stirred conflicting emotions inside her. With a warm smile, he assured her that he would quickly retrieve his clothes from his room and join her shortly for dinner.
Vivienne observed as Tom gracefully moved around the room, picking up his discarded clothes from the floor. Her gaze fixated on his strong physique, the play of muscles beneath his skin, and the air of confidence he exuded. A part of her yearned to pull him back into their shared desires, but she resisted the temptation, reminding herself of the complexities that lay beneath their passionate encounters.
Determined in her resolve, Vivienne composed herself, patiently waiting for Tom's return. She took a moment to calm her racing heart and gather her thoughts, preparing for the evening ahead. While she couldn't deny the magnetic pull of his presence, she promised herself to proceed with caution, fully aware of the delicate balance between attraction and self-preservation they had come to know too well.
----------
As they settled down at the table, Tom's gaze swept over Vivienne, a renewed sense of appreciation evident in his eyes. She appeared effortlessly elegant in her simple attire, a loose-fitting turtle neck concealing the love marks he had left on her skin, causing a mischievous smirk to play upon his lips. To him, she radiated beauty in her understated fashion.
Throughout the meal, Tom showered Vivienne with affection, his actions and words expressing a deep connection between them. They shared laughter, exchanged stolen glances, and the atmosphere brimmed with the promise of more intimate moments to come. Vivienne couldn't help but be captivated by Tom's attentiveness, cherishing the warmth he emanated.
As the evening neared its end, they retreated to their respective rooms, a mix of excitement and nervousness enveloping Vivienne. She knew that future encounters awaited them, keeping the flame of passion alive. The allure of their shared desires lingered, hinting at the continuation of their intimate journey.
However, despite their intimate encounter earlier, Vivienne found her determination renewed. She resolved not to succumb to Tom's charms so easily again, even though she had been enticed by the intimacy they had rekindled. She knew she had to distance herself from him, to put their passionate encounter behind her.
The following morning, as the sun streamed through the window, a knock on Vivienne's door startled her. Tom's voice called out, inviting her for breakfast. But Vivienne, resolute in her decision, remained silent. Confused by her lack of response, Tom ventured to the lodge's office, hoping to find answers.
To his surprise, the receptionist informed him that Vivienne had checked out half an hour earlier and had left for the airport. As Tom absorbed this unexpected turn of events, the receptionist handed him a letter. It was a message penned by Vivienne, outlining her reasons for leaving and bidding him farewell.
Dear Tom,
I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly, but I couldn't ignore the disturbance it caused to the peace I had finally found within myself. The love I still hold for you lingers, but I've become cautious of the recurring cycle we seem to find ourselves in. Your sudden return and plea for reconciliation have shattered the tranquility I fought hard to achieve during our time apart.
I must prioritize the serenity I have discovered within my own soul. Trust, which has been strained between us, needs time and genuine change to be rebuilt. I cannot risk losing the progress I've made by diving back into the same patterns that led to our previous struggles.
Please understand that this decision isn't a rejection of our love, but rather a necessary step to protect my newfound inner peace. I will reach out to you when I'm ready to address our unresolved matters. Until then, let's take this time apart to reflect and grow as individuals.
Sincerely,
Vivienne
Tom stood frozen in the doorway, holding the letter tightly in his shaking hand. He felt utterly helpless, as if all his power had been stripped away. The woman he loved, Vivienne, had vanished, and it pained him deeply. The trust they once shared had shattered, and he couldn't bear the thought of her running away, no longer believing in him.
His heart ached with a profound hurt. How could she leave him like this? In the past, whenever they had a fight, Vivienne always came back to him easily, as if their love could fix everything. But this time, it was different. Her sudden departure revealed the doubts and fragility of their relationship.
The pain of her absence pierced his soul. It reminded him of the consequences of his actions and the damage they had caused. He realized that his past behavior had eroded the trust they had built, leaving Vivienne with no choice but to escape.
Tom's mind raced with confusion and remorse. He longed for her presence, her comforting touch, and the sound of her laughter. Her absence left a gaping hole that seemed impossible to fill, and he regretted the choices that had led them to this painful separation.
In that moment, Tom made a solemn promise to himself. He would confront his flaws and strive to earn back Vivienne's trust. The reality of her departure hit him hard, compelling him to face the depth of his love for her. He understood that their journey was far from over, and he was willing to fight for their connection.
With a determined look in his eyes, Tom took a deep breath, clutching the letter close to his chest. He knew he had to find a way to bridge the gap between them, to show Vivienne that he could change and grow for their love.
Stepping out into the world, his face etched with uncertainty and anguish, Tom embarked on a journey back to London. It was a mission fueled by a deep desire to find Vivienne, to make things right and rebuild the love they had lost.
His determination grew stronger with each passing moment. He yearned to find Vivienne, to look into her eyes and convey the depth of his remorse. He wanted to make amends, to show her that he was capable of change and growth. Love had a way of testing their resilience, but he was ready to face the challenges head-on.
In the depths of his heart, Tom held onto the flickering hope that they could find their way back to each other. He was ready to face the challenges, to learn from his mistakes, and to fight for the love that had once defined their existence. A/N:  I wanted to take a moment to address the ending of the story and shed some light on the choices I made. I understand that some of you may be wondering why I wrote it in the way it unfolded. Oh! it was a struggle re-writing the ending several times, but allow me to provide some insights coming to this decision.
Throughout the narrative, I wanted to depict Tom's journey of self-discovery and growth. In Chapter 1, we are introduced to a flawed character, someone who exhibits traits of being a jerk. By presenting his transformation and the challenges he faces, I aimed to show that personal growth is possible even for those who have made mistakes.
Moreover, I deliberately chose not to portray an easy reconciliation between Tom and Vivienne. It is all too common in stories for characters to easily fall back into toxic relationships, particularly after moments of intimacy. I wanted to challenge this narrative and emphasize the importance of trust, self-reflection, and personal growth before attempting to rebuild a relationship.
It is crucial to address the complexities of relationships and the need for healthy boundaries. Rushing back into a relationship without addressing the underlying issues can perpetuate a cycle of toxicity. I hope this story serves as a reminder to readers that genuine change requires introspection and effort from all parties involved.
Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I appreciate your support and understanding. OH! Don’t worry there’s a short sequel (just in a different title, of course...)  Best Regards, MSILWRITES.
Her Savior
Another hot day.  Another afternoon at Starbucks.  Another day searching for jobs online.  Penny loved coming here.  The baristas were always nice and welcoming.  The more she went, the more they started to recognize her.
“Hey Penny!”  Kaelin greeted her.  She and Gab were working today, two of her favorites.  “Another strawberry acai refresher for ya?”
Penny nodded.  “Yes, please.  And a blueberry muffin?”  They rang her up, and she sat down at her favorite table.  There was no rhyme or reason as to why it was her favorite, but it was where she preferred to sit.  Perhaps it’s because it was in somewhat close proximity to both the register and the restrooms.  Perhaps it’s because it gave her a great view of people coming and going.
She enjoyed people watching, especially when she first saw him.  He was tall with pale skin and long-ish black hair.  Usually it was down.  Every once in a while though, he had it up in a man bun, giving her a nice view of his neck and jawline.  He usually came in, placed his order, and then left with his drink.  Once in a while, he’d stay for a bit to either do a few things on his computer or read a book.
Hearing the front door open, she glanced to see who it was, hoping it’d be him.  It wasn’t.  There was this strange guy who’d started coming in.  ‘Strange isn’t always bad,’ she’d remind herself.  Well, that was until the day the strange guy decided to approach her.  He sneezed, and she automatically said “bless you.”  It was common courtesy, right?
“I heard you say God bless you.”
Penny nodded.  “Well, I really just said bless you, but yes.”
“I see you have a sticker on your laptop that says ‘one mental breakdown later.’  Do you have mental health issues?”  He sat himself down at her small table.
Something about how he spoke put her on edge.  “Um, yes.”
“What do you have?”
‘What I have right now is the strong desire for you to leave,’ she thought to herself, but she was too nice to say that.  “Um, anxiety, depression, and bipolar.”
“I have depression and schizophrenia.  Do you ever have manic episodes?”
“Uh…..no.”
Penny heard the front door open and spotted her crush walking in.
Turning back to the odd stranger, she tried to tell him she was working on applying for jobs, but he kept talking.  It took 3 attempts to make him understand she wanted, no, needed to focus on her job search until he got the hint and went back to his own table to her great relief.
By the time all was said and done, her handsome crush got his order and departed.
Two days later, she came in, placed her order, and sat down once more.  There was a new book she’d gotten about lexicology on obscure words (The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows), and Penny wanted to look through it.  She’d started to, briefly, but decided she should spend more time right now looking online for jobs and placed the book just to the right of her computer.
So focused on her online searches, she didn’t realize the strange guy was back until he came up to her and asked if he could look at the book she had on the table as he reached for it.  She tried to say no, politely picked up the book, and held it close to her.  Penny didn’t care for people she didn’t know touching her things.
“It looks interesting.  One quick look?”
She was becoming more and more uncomfortable, and this guy just didn’t seem to get it.  “Sorry, but no.”
“It’s just a book.  Why won’t you let me see it?”
Before she could respond, she felt someone place a hand on the back of her chair and heard the most beautiful tenor british voice.  “Why are you making my girlfriend uncomfortable?  She said no.  A gentleman knows that when a lady says no, you cease and walk away.”
Looking up, it was her crush.  He was even more handsome up front and smelled delectable.
“Honey, you made it!”  She knew to play along.  “Yes, darling.  Sorry I’m late.”
“Dude, it’s just a book.”  The strange guy persisted.
“Yes, but the book belongs to her.  You have no rights.  I’m going to have to ask you to leave her alone.”
“And if I don’t?”  The creepy guy crossed his arms.
“Then I’ll have to insist you leave.”  The British hottie crossed his arms as he stood up straight.  He was easily over 6 feet tall with lean muscles compared to the strange guy who was more than half a foot shorter than him and scrawny.
This move by her savior finally scared off the creepy guy who went back to his table.
The British gentleman leaned down carefully.  “I will not be offended if you say no, but I could sit at your table for a bit?  Help ensure he leaves you alone?”
Penny nodded.  “Yes, of course.”
He pulled out the chair across from her and put down his bag before placing his own order.  He then came to sit with her and work on his own computer things.  A few minutes into this, he looked up.  “I’m so sorry.  I forgot to introduce myself.  I’m Loki.”  He smiled.
‘His smile could light up the world,’ she thought.  “I’m Penny.  Thank you so much for your help.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your help.  That’s the second time he’s accosted me.”
“Hopefully he’ll know to leave you alone now.  You shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable coming here.”
They ended up back into a companionable silence, each on their own computer.  Well, that was until she received another rejection email causing her to groan.
“Is everything alright?”  Looking up, she could see he was concerned.
“Sorry.  Just another rejection notice.  I’ve lost count of how many jobs I’ve applied for.”
He gave her a sympathetic smile.  “I understand.  Job hunts are often painful.  What sort of jobs are you looking for, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Mostly clerical work, assistant positions.  That kind of thing.”
He opened his bag and searched until he found it and handed her a business card.  “I have a client who’s looking for an administrative assistant position.  He hates having to post inquiries on job boards.  A number of responses he’s been receiving are nothing more than spam at best.  Give him a call and tell him Loki sent you.”
And that’s exactly what she did the next day.  “I know it’s kind of a crazy ask, but is there any chance you could come in this afternoon for an interview?”  She said she could.  At 3 pm, she arrived at his office dressed impeccably along with a copy of her resume.  They spoke for about 30 minutes, and he was very impressed with her, offering her the job on the spot.  He listed the hourly pay, benefits, and other items to which she agreed and would start the following Monday.
The next day, she went back to the same Starbucks with a book and her laptop, but this time it was to relax, read, and maybe do some writing, something she enjoyed doing in her spare time.  Really, though, she came in hopes of running into Loki again.
20 minutes later, her wish was granted.  When he walked into the lobby, he looked around as if he were looking for someone and then smiled brightly when he spotted her.  “Good afternoon!  It’s great to see you again!”  He gestured to the chair opposite her, silently asking if he could join her, and she nodded.
“Thank you so much for referring me to your friend!”
Loki smiled yet again.  “I’m so glad you called him.  I take it you may have already gone in to interview?”
Penny nodded.  “Yesterday afternoon, actually, and he offered me a job!  I wanted to say thanks.”
“No thanks needed from such a nice and beautiful lady.”  His words made her blush.  “I must admit.  I’ve noticed you here before, and I’ve come to look forward to seeing you here.  I wasn’t sure how to approach you until that man started giving you grief.”
Oh dear heavens.  He noticed her, too!  ‘Play it cool, Penny,’ she thought to herself.  “I’m very glad you did.  Not only did you rescue me, you helped me find a job.  Let me buy you a drink as a thank you?”
He tried to decline, but she insisted, saying it was the least she could do.  This time, instead of doing computer work, they ended up talking, not noticing how much time had passed until it was announced that the coffee shop was closing in 15 minutes.
He tried to apologize to her.  “I’m so sorry.  I’ve taken up so much of your time.”
“Don’t be sorry.  I’ve enjoyed talking to you.”  She tried to reassure him.
“Would I…..I mean, could I maybe get your number?  Maybe we could go for dinner sometime?”
She agreed, and they exchanged numbers.  She had a feeling that this was the start of something incredible.
~~~~~<3
Tom was just walking in the door when his phone rang in his pocket. It had been a nerve-wracking journey back to his flat. Back home. In this moment, it didn’t feel like home. It felt cold as worry fueled him.
“Well?” Tom didn’t waste time with pleasantries.
“She’s okay. Everyone is okay. I just left the apartment.” Ashley likewise skipped the pleasantries.
“Okay?” Tom fell hard against the wall as he took what felt like his first breath in the last half an hour.
“She’s been crying and said it was a rough night.” Ashley hesitated before continuing. “She was talking like you were not coming back. Is- Did something happen?”
“No, not that I- Would she be one to read tabloids?”
“About you? Maybe. Is there something in one that would make her think you’re not in this weird ass bullshit marriage with her anymore? Did you do something?”
“I did nothing wrong.” Tom snapped, cringing back as soon as he realized he was taking his stress out on someone who’s been nothing but fairly kind to him. With great effort, he forced himself to take a deep, slow breath before speaking again. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry for snapping. Gossip rags can take a small assumption and a wish and make it into something mad. I- I need to go.”
Hanging up, he dialed Luke as he made his way to his laptop.
“This is Luke.”
“I need you to clear the week.” Tom didn’t spare any pleasantries for his long-time friend, either. He had his phone pinched between his shoulder and ear as he opened his laptop and hit the power button.
“What’s wrong?” Luke was in friend mode, though Tom could hear him working a keyboard, typing away.
“I’m not sure. Something with Mia. It’s probably nothing. Fuck, I hope it’s nothing.” While his computer powered on, he opened his suitcase and tossed it on his bed. “She left a voicemail crying and isn’t answering now. I don’t-”
“You can’t just run to America every time your wife has a cry over missing you.” Luke was trying to walk the line between sanity, supporting his friend and doing his job. “You’re going to be away for filming. You’re going to have commitments.”
“I’m aware. We’ll get there. I just- I think something is wrong.”
“What did she say when you called her back?”
Tom tossed handfuls of clothes into the suitcase. “She didn’t answer. Right to bloody voicemail. Her sister checked on her, though.”
“Her sister checked on her. She is clearly okay, but you’re still going to drop everything and run to her?” There was a hint of a smile in Luke’s voice. As a professional, this was not something he could support. But as a friend and a bit of a romantic himself, it was hard to stay against it. That was what Tom was counting on.
“I’ll take care of it. When are you taking off?”
“I haven’t booked a flight yet.” Tom was standing at his laptop. “Figuring that out now.”
“Keep me updated.”
~~~~~<3
It was a few hours before Tom could get on a flight, but he had found one that left that evening. Pacing through the airport, Tom passed his time on the phone with his mother between attempts to call Mia again and again. There was only so much his mother could do to keep him grounded while anxiety ate at him.
He had snagged a direct flight to Las Vegas, a bloody miracle he couldn’t be more thankful for. There wasn’t anything he could do to calm his nerves while he was stuck waiting. His neg bounced, and he fidgeted as he attempted to review scripts, email apologies for rescheduled meetings, and beg the universe to allow the plane to fly faster somehow.
One eleven hour flight later, Tom’s feet were on the ground in Nevada in an airport he was becoming more accustomed to than he ever expected. Anxiety had his stomach rolling through the whole flight, rejecting the concept of food. Sleep didn’t come in anything more than fleeting moments when he had tried. All he could do was wait and waiting felt like it was slowly killing him.
Memories played in his mind, regardless of if he wanted to think of them. There were fragments of what he could almost remember. There was a white dress that he was sure he could only remember because he saw it the morning after, ripped and discarded on the ground.
He remembered, or thought he did, the way her soft skin felt against his and the way they smiled at eachother through a lense of alcohol. He had tried again and again to remember the night they got married, but it wouldn’t come, dancing just out of reach of his mind.
It was just over two months since the wedding he couldn’t remember and he was more terrified now than at any point in the previous two months. It felt like the entire world was crashing down around him.
Something told him it was over. Everything was over, slipping through his fingers like the memories he couldn’t grasp. They had made it two months out of the twelve he had asked for and it was crashing down around him. What would be left when the dust settled?
Would there be a relationship left? Would there be anything left at all?
Two months. They had made it two months into what he had hoped would last for the rest of his life. It wasn’t nearly enough. He wanted more. He needed more.
In these two months, he had fallen in love with Mia and he was kicking himself for not telling her that in no uncertain terms. That’s all he had left to hope for, that he would have time to tell her.
~~~~~<3
Mia sat at the counter with her shattered phone in her hands. She needed to get it replaced. If she smacked it just right, it would try to power on and pings of missed phone calls or notifications would sound, but as soon as she jostled it again, it would turn off.
The screen was in ruins, too. Even if she could get it to power on, she couldn’t make or send calls.
Sally was out with Ashley for the day, a gift from her sister allowing Mia to wallow in her own poor decisions. Mia had taken the day off, using the office phone to call in. She told them she was sick, and that was close enough to the truth for her.
She was lovesick. Heartsick. Heartbroken.
She just couldn’t bring herself to go in.
Had Tom called her? What would he have said? Could she bring herself to believe him? Would she?
~~~~~<3
Tom took the first taxi he could catch. He didn’t care how much it cost or any of the specifics. Without ceremony, he shoved his suitcase in the trunk and folded into the back seat, giving his Nevada address.
His address. God, he hoped it was still his address.
While the driver made his way through traffic, Tom’s knee bounced rapidly in the back seat. He was running on nothing but anxiety, caffeine and a few fleeting seconds of sleep.
He tried Mia’s phone again. It rang for a second before going to voicemail. It was progress; he guessed. She had her phone on, but she didn’t answer.
What had happened? What had he done? The only thing he could think of was the tabloids. That was the only thing that seamed to make any sense. If he could have just talked to her, if she could have heard the radio interview- snippets of it were being passed around online already, dashing any speculation about the meaning of his missing ring in the minds of most.
But not all. It would never be all. Of that, he could be sure. But that was the price of his career.
As the taxi pulled to a stop in front of her building, their building, Tom unbuckled and was handing a few twenty-dollar bills to the driver before they had even really stopped, knowing he was overpaying and not stopping to give a fuck by how much.
As Tom climbed out, he instructed the man to keep the change as the trunk popped open. The wheels of his suitcase slammed against his shin as he pulled it from the vehicle carelessly. Swearing, he rubbed the pain away as he slammed the truck closed.
Tom pulled the suitcase behind him toward the building door. Punching in the code, he grabbed it by the side handle and carried lifted it from the ground. There was a wet splotch on the corner of the bag that showed something spilled during the flight.
Hopefully, it was something that leaked from another bag onto his. If it was the shampoo he had absently thrown in while he was packing in a panic, he would deal with that later.
He realized while pacing the airport that he didn’t actually need to pack a suitcase, but if he was honest, he didn’t think it would have made it any difference if he had realized it before. The only earlier flights he could have taken would have had stops and layovers, getting him moving faster but arriving later. This was the soonest he would have been able to arrive, no matter.
Tom pressed the call button for the elevator and waited. Not even thirty seconds later, he pressed the button again. And again. And again.
This was taking too long. Objectively, he knew it wasn’t, but he couldn’t stomach just standing there. Anxiety made it feel like he was going to crawl out of his skin.
Picking his bag up again, he opened the door to the stairwell and began running. Running made him feel better, ever so slightly. It gave him a way to expel his anxiety and accomplish something other than waiting. His feet pounded each concrete step and his breath quickly became pants as the first floor gave way to the second.
Panic had a nasty way of taking over when you were not looking. Tom’s running became clumsy and frantic as the second floor gave way to the third. Nearly tripping at one point, he scraped his shin against the sharp edge of the step. It stung and he wouldn’t be surprised to find it bleeding if he had cared to stop and check.
That didn’t slow him down, though. Tom burst through the stairwell door with all the energy of a storm. Or the energy of a panicked rat running from a looming cat. Either fit accurately enough, though one matched the look on his face far better than the other.
Thankfully, no one was in front of the door, let alone in the hallway. Tom barreled down the hall, his bag slamming against the back of his calfs more than once. He all but collapsed in front of the apartment door, their door. Please still be their door and not just her door.
His fingers shook as he put in the code as fast as he could. A red light flashed, and the door did not open. Again, he put in the code in a rush and got a red light. He had to have had it right. He must have been just moving too fast, hitting the wrong keys. She didn’t change the code. Please, don’t have changed the code.
He knocked on the door and tried again. He could hardly control his hands as he hit the keys. It had been years since he had an adrenaline dump like this.
He wanted to scream and rage at the door as his knocking turned into slapping the door with his open palm.
“Mia!” He called, finally finding his voice. “Mia!”
~~~~~<3
Mia was terrified when someone had tried to unlock her door. She wasn’t in the mental space for whatever was going on. Dark circles rested under her red-rimmed eyes.
Knocking started, and she grabbed the only weapon she could think of in the moment, a frying pan. In hindsight, a knife would have been better, but we can’t all make good decisions under stress.
Whoever was on the other side tried the lock again and failed to enter the correct code. She wasn’t sure what to do. She didn’t have a way to call for the police with her phone down.
Whatever was going to happen, she was beyond thankful Ashley had taken Sally for the night. Sally would be safe.
Knocking started again, quickly devolving into frantic pounding as she crept closer to the door.

CHAPTER MASTERLIST
Chapter Sixty-Eight:
Cliveden’s gardens at night in the winter are beautiful. They’re vast and eerily empty, though that could just be the stillness of the night. Victorian lamp posts light the way and with the gently falling snow, kinda gives me Narnia vibes.
 I wander around, careful to stick to the crunchy gravel paths and keep the main house in sight. This isn’t the first time I’ve had such an opportunity for escape. Yeah, I could Apparate anywhere, but why? Now that a plan will be in place, what’s the point? It’s exactly what I wanted.
Movement draws my eye and I catch Diana’s head above the shrubbery, heading in my direction. I’m not ready to go inside yet, so I sit on a nearby bench and wait for her to join me.
“Did they send you to make sure I was still here?” I ask, mostly teasing.
“Kyle did,” she admits as she sits next to me. She’s all bundled up in a stylish thick wool coat while I’m just fine in my Ilvermorny sweater and Thomus’ scarf. “But that’s alright, I’d much rather talk to you.”
Tumblr media
Instantly my guard's up. “About what?”
She hesitates for a moment, but I give her my best encouraging expression, despite my raging nerves.
“Well, I wanted to ask how you feel about Thomus.”
I blink, my eyebrows shooting up. “Oh, um, well, I -”
“It’s just that Jake seems to think you genuinely care about him because of how adamant you are about his safety,” she says. “Now that I’ve met you and I’ve seen you two together, I think he’s right, but I wonder if it’s more than that.”
I think about my answer for a few moments, but respond with a question instead. “Is this because you two used to date?”
She immediately shakes her head and chuckles. “Definitely not. It didn’t last longer than a month or two and it was a long time ago.”
“Did-did he break up with you?” I ask with some hesitation.
“I dumped him actually,” she says. “He just… When we hung out or went on dates, his mind always seemed like it was elsewhere.  The only time he seemed fully present and invested was when we…” she trails off.
“When what?” I prompt.
She gives me a sheepish expression. “Sorry, it might be a bit TMI.”
I shrug and shake my head. “Don’t worry. There’s no such thing as TMI for me. I need everything.” Even if that information guts me. I’d always rather know.
“When we were sleeping together,” she says all in one breath.
I don’t say anything, waiting to hear more. “Oh, is that it?”
Her eyebrows tilt up in sympathy. “I suppose if I were in your situation I wouldn’t want to hear about it.”
“Yeah,” I say, looking down. “I can see that. Do you know what he was so focused on?”
“Well, I know his mother had passed away a few months before and then there was… her .”
“Bellatrix,” I sigh knowingly.
“He visited her every couple weeks - no matter what. I didn’t even know he was still going after we started dating. When I confronted him, he insisted there was nothing physical going on between them, but I… had my doubts. He told me he stopped going after that, but I know he went back after it ended,” she explains. “Does he still see her often?”
“I… have no idea honestly.”
“Have you not asked?”
I shake my head. “Why would I?”
“Because you two are…” she sighs. “It’s complicated, I know.”
“There’s a massive power imbalance between us and I’m not going to let myself forget that, regardless of how I feel.”
“What about how he feels?” she asks gently.
“If anything he feels is real, then why am I still his prisoner?” I answer a little too quickly. “He doesn’t see me as his equal. I don’t want to belong to him like I’m some kind of possession. I want a partner willing to rely on me as I want to rely on them in return. How can anyone be devoted to an object?” I finish by inhaling sharply, having taken short breaths during my lament.
Her lips press together as she regards me with a cautious look. “The world has really changed since Harry Potter died,” she says. “No one is doing well - especially muggleborns. No one has been able to fly under the radar since they started implementing some kind of forced registry.” She pauses and then chuckles. “And you would not be able to go unnoticed.”
I sigh. “It’s the hair isn’t it?”
“Actually, no,” she says. “You’d be surprised how popular some of these articles about you have been.”
Now this, I’m taken aback. "Articles? As in more than one?"
"I'm afraid so. The best one is from the New York Ghost , but Witch Weekly's was pretty nice. Does someone have it out for you at The Daily Prophet , by any chance?"
"Probably Rita Skeeter," I grumble. I want to know what they've been saying about me. "Though I'm surprised I was interesting enough for one article, let alone multiple."
"I disagree," she says. "I think what you're doing is very brave. You haven't given up despite all these odds stacked against you. Honestly, I was really excited to meet you when I heard you were coming."
I blush, laughing awkwardly. "I, um, I'm sorry, I definitely had no idea you existed until tonight. Thank you for inviting me to that thing on New Years Eve, even though I can't go. It reminded me of what being normal was like."
"No problem!" she smiles. "I would've been glad to have you. You’re super cool and totally normal.” She winks at me and quietly laughs to herself. “But seriously, you should consider thinking that he might just want to keep you safe, where he can protect you.”
“But I can protect myself ,” I gently protest. “It’s because I’ve been under his ‘care’ that I’ve been vulnerable! He has to realize that.”
Her eyes soften with sympathy. “I think he does, because there was one weekend Jake told me about. He’d just met you and Thomus in Edinburgh and you’d been… assaulted while they’d all just been standing there, unknowing. He said he’d never seen Thomus be that violent before - violent without using magic that is.”
I stare at her eye-wided, enthralled with this story. This change in perspective.
“And then the next night, there’d been this party Thomus got drunk at and Jake said he could tell something was really bothering him. Apparently, he was really reluctant to talk about it, too.”
I scoff. “I hope he got over himself and opened up so you can share this information with me now.”
“Yeah, so he finally said he blamed himself for being an idiot and not paying better attention. Like, it really hit him that your safety was in his hands.”
I… don’t know what I’m allowed to feel. My heart wants to swoon and my mind wants to roll its eyes. Except, if he’s not as terrible as I thought, am I allowed to hope?
“I think I remember when he came home,” I admit. “We continued drinking and he asked me how I felt - which was very new for us at the time.”
Diana smiles ruefully. “Does he get points for trying, at least?”
“We’ll see,” I say. “I’m definitely nervous that it could all just be a… fling to him.”
Diana startles me by releasing a loud cackle.
“A fling?!” she bellows, struggling to catch her breath. “Oh honey, you’re delusional.”
“What? No!” I protest. “I’m being realistic.”
“Oh Lady Morgana,” she says, wiping tears from her eyes and standing. “Come on, let’s go inside before my fingers fall off.”
~*~
By the early hours of the morning, I’m utterly exhausted.
Kyle had changed his mind and decided to tell me his roughly outlined plan. It’s not terrible, but luckily the rough bits still have time to be hammered out. I should have plenty of notice before I have to leave, plenty of time for contingencies.
Thomus is out like a light, still snoring softly, when I return. I try to be as quiet as possible as I strip down to my undies and crawl into the massive four-poster bed with him.
It must not be massive enough, though, because just me softly rolling into position beneath the covers is enough to rouse a few sleepy words from him.
“Darling?” he rasps and I feel his hands reach for me in the dark.
“Hi,” I whisper. “Sorry I woke you.”
He hums and pulls himself closer, resting his head on my chest. “How did we get back to the cottage?” he says sleepily, curling himself against me.
“We didn’t,” I say, running a hand through his hair and the other over his shoulders. “We’re still at Cliveden.”
“Hm, I don’t remember getting here.”
His tone isn’t setting off any alarm bells. It’s low and gravelly, like he’s not entirely awake yet.  He’s just mindlessly chatting and I just have to be casual.
“Well, you were very drunk,” I say. “You passed out playing Exploding Snap. Jake had to levitate you up here.”
His arm around my waist tightens, pulling me tighter against him. “You didn’t leave.”
I don’t say anything, panic instantly spiking my heart rate, and I hope he’s not awake enough to pay attention.
“You could have, but you didn’t,” he continues. “Not that I’d blame you if you did.”
I stay silent, trying to convince myself that his calm demeanor is because whatever he’s talking about, couldn’t be about the drama of the night. There's no way he was awake enough to hear what we said.
“No,” I murmur. “I didn’t.”
“What room did he put us in?” he murmurs.
I let out a sudden strained laugh. “You’d never guess.”
~*~
On New Year’s Eve, Thomus leaves again. He says it’s to finish last minute tasks for the Gala and whatnot and I feel… depressed… again. I’m mostly uninterested in eating - I ate a bologna and cheese sandwich for dinner. I’m not in the mood to read, listen to music or watch any movies, but I’ve had The Nanny on all day - just to make the house less quiet.
So I just go to bed at the blessed hour of 8pm.
I’ve barely been in bed for longer than fifteen minutes when the easily recognizable sound of the Floo roaring to life drifts up the stairs. I’ve sat up by the time Thomus finds me.
“In bed already?” he asks, surprised. “On New Year's Eve?”
I shrug, holding the blanket up to my naked chest. “It’s not the easiest holiday to spend by yourself.”
Thomus sits on the edge of the bed, swiftly leaning in to kiss my cheek. “And I don’t intend for you to, I agree completely.” He jumps up, taking long strides through the bathroom to my room, where I hear him opening the wardrobe. I sigh, scooting to the edge to throw my legs over it. It’s just my luck I was already in bed.
“A little warning might have been nice,” I say when he returns, arm cradling a black hoodie and black leggings.
He takes one look at me and the next moment he’s tossing my clothes on the bed and crowding into my space. His large hands cradle my head as he braces me for his lips on mine. He leans in and I have to prop my arms behind me so we don’t fall backward. Of course this causes the blanket to fall and his hand swoops down to cup and grope my chest, the attention causing my nipples to harden.
His kisses take my breath away and my thighs are quick to part for him. His hips slide right into the space provided, grinding his hard-on against me. My kisses slacken because all of my attention goes right to my throbbing clit and I desperately whimper.
His hips rock against me one more time before he pulls away, both of us breathless. His eyes trail down my body as he speaks. “We don’t have much time,” he says. “I will have to savor you later.”
When he steps completely away from me, I’m left cold, so I quickly slide on the oversized hoodie as he adjusts himself in his pants.
“Savor me?” I ask when I stand, stepping into the pants one leg at a time.
He chuckles, watching me wiggle the waistband up over my hips and stomach. “I thought it was a bit more romantic than fuck.”
Ping . There goes the tiniest fracture in my heart for him. I scramble for something clever or funny to say.
“I suppose it could’ve been worse,” I say, popping in a British accent for the last word. “You could’ve said shag .”
“Cute,” he smirks.
I follow him downstairs, sliding on my socks before I stop at the door for my sneakers and turn for the fireplace.
He clicks his tongue. “Not that way.”
I narrow my eyes and follow him out the door. He takes me to the spot beyond the fence and touches the tattoo before Apparating us to the Manor. The front gates are open and he swiftly takes hold of my tattoo again to get me over the barrier.
We walk down the entrance path, under gilded arches and golden fairy lights crossing overhead from the tall hedges. Holding my hand, he pulls me around the building along the back toward a door being held open by an elf.
“Miss,” Remmy says to me in a disinterested greeting and drops his voice to a whisper. “Master Thomus, Mistress expects you in fifteen minutes. Master isn’t even dressed -”
“Don’t worry, Remmy, I will be there,” Thomus reassures them as we pass. “Mums the word about Miss Alder, remember?”
“Yes, yes, Remmy remembers,” the elf dismisses.
Thomus leads me to his room, making sure to use hallways noticeably absent of chatty portraits. A familiar route because of the many times I'd avoided them myself. The moment we’re in his room, he heads for the bathroom, already stripping. There’s a black robed suit hanging from a hook on the door.
“Please tell me you're not gonna surprise me with a ball gown, are you?” I ask, hopping up onto the bed and toeing my shoes off.
“I value my neck, thanks,” he remarks, pulling on first his suit pants, then the black button up shirt. “Would you grab me a pair of cufflinks from the closet?”
“Does it matter which one?” I ask, knowing he's got a variety.
“No.”
By the time I emerge from the closet, elegant silver M stamped cufflinks in hand, he’s already dressed. He smiles at me as I pass him the tiny pieces of metal.
“All you have to do is wait for a few hours,” he says, his mood curiously… cheerful? “Go back to sleep if you'd like - just don't leave this room. Only Remmy knows you're here.”
“Why all the fuss?” I ask, my eyes greedily taking his suited form in. I suppress the desire to pull him close by his silk tie for a kiss. He looks too suave and sophisticated and… way out of my league.
“For the simple reason that I don’t want certain guests to know you’re here,” he explains, stepping into the bathroom once again. I hear him spritz a bottle of something.
“And why is that again?”
He glides out of the bathroom, passing me by with a quick peck to my cheek. “I’ll see you in a few hours.”
I completely ignore the fact he didn’t answer my question, because I’m way too distracted by his suddenly fragrant cologne. I breathe in lung-fulls of cedar and pine, trying not to swoon in his wake as he pulls out his wand to light the fireplace.
Then he’s gone, the door audibly locking behind him.
~*~
Well, I definitely try to sleep. Except I wasn’t even tired when I climbed into bed the first time.
First I change into a purple wispy nightgown with a deep vee in the neck that stops at my thighs. Then I change out of it when the frills around the short sleeves become too itchy under the covers, opting instead for a simpler one with long sleeves and a hem that falls around my ankles.
All this, just to be uncomfortable in every position I try. Nevermind the fact my mind keeps doing laps of worrying, wondering who exactly Thomus doesn’t want to know I’m here. Rodolphus? Bellatrix? Is he dancing and flirting with her while her husband tracks me down this very moment?
Finally I give up and decide to grab a handful of Thomus’ old Daily Prophets and settle on the cushioned bench in the alcove of one of his windows. I sit sideways on it, my back against the wall with the door in my line of sight.
I’m about to cast a subtle illumination spell to help my poor eyesight in this dim lighting when movement out the window catches my eye. It’s the curtains billowing out of the open doors to the ball room - or the large drawing room as Narcissa calls it. Golden light spills from windows and the doorway  as the guests' shadows and silhouettes move within. Some are moving swiftly as if dancing while some are mingling. Before I can think better of it, I’m pushing open the French window closest to me.
I hear boisterous laughter and the low hum of chatter, and best of all, music drifts up to me like a leaf in the breeze. It’s the exact kind of music I’d imagine would play at a ball like this, and I can’t help but picture myself down there, in some pretty dress twirling around the room with Thomus.
I sit there, content to listen to the string quartet and people watch. Some come outside for the cool air, others to have a private word alone with each other.
Hermione is relatively easy to spot. Her black gown is ridiculously puffy around the skirt, but synched skin-tight in the bodice, and even from here I can see the jewels glittering on her chest. I’m surprised to see Draco by her side, dressed head to toe in white. They linger by the door, always surrounded by ladies vying for his attention. I can’t help but notice how his hand slowly caresses her back, almost… lovingly from her waist up to her shoulders and nape when he thinks no one is watching.
Thankfully, I don’t see Bellatrix, but I also don’t see Thomus, either. An inconsequential fact I try not to linger on.
I don’t know how long I sit like that, but eventually Thomus returns, quietly stepping into the room with two empty champagne glasses and a bottle.
“I kinda feel like Cinderella wanting to go to the ball,” I say softly as he approaches. He looks politely puzzled and before he can ask, I explain, “It’s just a No-Maj fairytale.”
“Ah,” he hums. He takes hold of the forgotten newspapers on the other side of the bench and raises an eyebrow.
I feel a blush creep up my throat and try to keep my tone nonchalant. “I… maybe like to read your articles,” I say. “It’s crazy to think we both spent time at The Daily Prophet , but at different times so we never ran into each other.”
I feel like I’m rambling, but how could I not? He looks and smells far too dashing for me to think clearly.
“It is a bit ironic,” he says, replacing his papers where I’d gotten them from before returning. He takes up the rest of the bench, his back to the window, and places the glasses and bottle on the floor next to him.
“Do you think things might’ve been different if we’d met there instead?” I ask hesitantly, knowing all too well his opinions on ‘what if’s. “Before?”
Thomus sighs heavily and the air puffs out his cheeks. He raises an eyebrow and gives me a sideways look. “Honestly?”
I nod. “Yeah, always.”
“Hm, I think…” his mouth downturns as he speaks, his voice betraying his amusement. “I’d find you the most annoying person on the planet.”
A disbelieving laugh bursts out. “What?!”
He nods, completely solemn. “Oh yeah, always asking questions, always bothering me.”
“Oh no, I’d have to talk to you about our job ,” I say with dramatic sarcasm, trying and failing to keep the smile off my face. “Oh no, what a nightmare.”
Thomus grabs my ankle, lifting my foot so he can shift closer, until my calf rests on his opposite thigh. That hand slides from my ankle all the way up my leg, and I’m disappointed it’s not under my nightgown. “It would have been an absolute nightmare to have you prance into my office every bloody day,” he continues as his fingers meet the crease at my hip and wedge themselves in. Then they keep traveling and grip all the plentiful flesh there. “I’d never be able to get any work done because I’d constantly be thinking about bending you over my desk.”
My eyes run laps over the sharp lines of his face, trying to determine if he’s serious. “Is that so?”
Thomus’ eyes drop to my mouth, his free hand brings his thumb to brush my lower lip. “These would be the worst. With every meddlesome question you ask, I’d only be able to think about how they’d taste.”
I’m holding my breath - my heart thudding, my ears burning. I’m suddenly very unnecessarily conscious of how far my glasses have slipped down my nose, the cool breeze from the window across my chest, and how heavy I’m breathing over his thumb. And for some reason his accent is doing funny things to my insides right now, of all times.
His voice is low, husky, and oh, so hot. “I’d be thinking about how you’d sound when I touched you. And yes, I say when . I could only endure such torture for so long before I wouldn’t be able to keep my hands off you.”
I snort, a disbelieving smile breaking out under his thumb. “You make me sound like some kind of irresistible vixen.” A chuckle rumbles out of his chest, but I keep going. “Well, I have good news for you - I wouldn’t object to any of that.”
“Is that so?” His hand caresses from my jaw to my neck.
I bite my lip to control my grin. “Well, yeah. Why do you think I’d be bothering you so much in the first place?”
Thomus lets out a breathy chuckle and sits back, his eyes crinkling in the corners. I can only stare, mesmerized by seeing genuine happiness on his face.
“So,” I say brightly. “Are you enjoying this party you put so much effort into preparing?”
His smile fades. “Not as much as I ought to, I suppose.”
“Oh, why not?” I ask, placing my hand over his one on my neck, feeling along the lines of his knuckles and fingers.
“The people down there…” he starts, eyes gazing out the window, “the only thing I’ve ever been to them is a source for gossip and scandal. And then the few who look past all that see the Malfoy name and nothing else.”
I let that process. “So what you’re saying is you’re a real catch?”
He bursts out laughing, the hand from my hip reaching up to scratch his chin. “Yeah, for those desperate to social climb.”
“So you’re a desperately eligible bachelor ?” I tease with a bit more drama to my tone. “How interesting. All the finest debutantes must be lining up down there, so what ever are you doing up here with me?”
“I’m a little old for debutantes.” He settles toward me into a more relaxing position, pulling his knee up and pressing his calf onto the bench under my thighs. With his face closer to mine now, his softly spoken words are loud and clear. “And besides, your company is vastly preferable over theirs.”
My face floods with heat and I crumble under his direct eye contact. My mouth suddenly feels as dry as the desert while I’m forced to figure out some kind of intelligent reply. “Quite shocking, really,” I say, my voice a whisper until I clear my throat, swallowing down some nerves. “Who wouldn’t want to hang out with the wizarding world’s most crankiest?”
He laughs again. “Are you talking about me or them?”
I’m about to answer, but a dull tapping sound coming from the party draws my attention. The guests are returning inside, tapping their wands against their champagne glasses.
“Ten minutes to midnight,” Thomus explains. “Lucius and Narcissa are about to make their toast.”
I slip my other hand around the one he has at my neck, both of mine cradling it near my chest as I glance at the clock on his mantle. “I guess that means you have to go?”
“Probably,” he admits slowly. “But I’m here.”
“Hold on, speaking of being here, isn’t Draco supposed to be in Switzerland?” I jut in, my eyes easily finding him and Hermione on the edge of the crowd.
“He is and Lucius is absolutely furious,” he sighs. “I can’t believe he’d be so foolish.”
“Well, it's obvious, right?” I ask, side-eying him, unsure if this is something I could even talk about. “He’s like, really into Hermione.”
A few moments tick by in silence as I stare at the crowd below. I glance at him to see his eyes had been on me the whole time, his expression pensive. When our eyes meet, he holds them for a moment before his gaze follows his hand as both of his gently hold mine instead. He pulls back my left sleeve, his fingers lightly tracing his name inked on my skin. Then he goes further, tracing the white puckered lines of the scar Bellatrix left me.
“What’re you thinking about?” I whisper.
His lips curl ruefully. “I’m thinking about how much of a hypocrite I am. I’ve called him foolish when here I am,” he says. “Unable to stay away.”
“From what?” I breathe, feeling stupid the moment I finish. My heart is beating so hard I wonder if he can feel my pulse where he holds my arm.
Thomus’ eyes hold on my arm, avoidant of my own. His voice is soft like he's telling me a secret. “I snuck you in tonight because I couldn’t bear not spending it with you.”
My eyebrows come together and I feel my head shake. “It’s just another year.”
“No,” he says, his eyes flashing up to mine, adamant. “Moments like these are important, to spend with those who are important. That’s why they’re all gathered down there, isn’t it? To go into the New Year praising the Dark Lord’s reign, congratulating themselves for their accomplishments this year.” He looks back down at our hands, at his name. “I know I don’t have much to celebrate in that regard, but I do know that you’re important to me… and frankly I'm tired of pretending otherwise.”
I can only stare at him. Unable to think, unable to breathe . How could he say something like that?
When I finally have to draw breath after what feels like an eternity, I only get to say his name. “Thomus -”
The loud popping of fireworks bursts from below, along with some cheer that has me turning my gaze away only briefly. I turn back and Thomus’ mouth descends on mine.
The kiss is full and wonderful, but short. He pulls back inches away to search into my gaze, like he’s asking for permission, like he’s making sure what he just said was okay.
It was more than okay. It’s exactly what my heart wants to hear, even though my own stubborn insecurities push doubt into my mind.
I can’t say anything back. I can’t tell him how I feel.
But I can show him.
Our lips meet again in a rush. At least it feels like that to me, like we just can’t bare being apart anymore. I pour my heart and soul into this kiss. My hands find their way into his hair, his caress and grip every part of my body he can reach.
Soon I’m pushing him back so I can climb onto his lap. He’s pulled up my nightgown and the cool air feels amazing on my bare legs. I’ve got one foot on the floor and the other is bent at the knee, helping control my balance while I’m grinding on him.
He keeps pulling me to him, my weight rocking into him, and I brace a hand on the wall in the bay window as he falls further back, keeping me upright. His hands slip under my nightgown, roaming my thighs. I adjust my hips, feeling brave enough to put both hands on his chest to steady me. His suit pants can’t hide how hard he is. I try to use that as a reminder he’s genuinely into me. No matter how many times I’m in his lap, it’s still hard to believe he wants me here.
“How long till you have to go back?” I ask with controlled breaths.
He growls. “Just fuck me, baby.” His fingers painfully dig into my hips as he pulls me down, undulating his hips against me. “I don’t want to be anywhere else.”
There are things I want to blurt out, simple little words swelling in my chest that threaten to ruin everything.
But if I confess how I feel, it wouldn’t change anything. I’ll still be his prisoner. His possession.
I don’t wanna be an object. I long to be more .
My hands slide up his chest to meet at his neckline, shoving my fingers into the knot on his tie. I don’t bother pulling it all the way off before I go at his buttons, not stopping until his muscled chest and abdomen are revealed. My hips rock, rubbing my pussy over his cock straining to be let free.
Then I jump up, standing to shimmy my undies to the floor. Thomus sits up and shrugs off his suit jacket, pulling off his tie completely. I pause, waiting to return to my seat, but then he looks at me, his eyes raking me up and down.
“I want that off,” he says, referring to the only article of clothing I have left.
I struggle not to make a face, because I still have a hard time being completely naked in front of him. If we were in bed, that would be different. This just feels too exposed.
I grip the material around my hips and step toward him. “Take it off for me?” I ask.
Lust-filled eyes lock on mine and his hands go to my thighs, sliding them up my sides, taking the gown with them. I raise my arms to help him pull it off the rest of the way and a blast of cool air from the window makes goosebumps rise all over me. It sends a shiver through my body and my nipples harden.
When my arms are free, I step even closer and cup his face, pressing my lips to his. I kiss him softly, from one corner of his mouth to the other. While I distract his mouth with sweet kisses, one hand takes off my glasses and the other goes to his belt.
Of course, I can only use one brain cell at a time, so my mouth becomes distracted when I struggle with undoing his belt. I just pull my mouth away all together so I can get a visual on my hands. I glance up at Thomus’ face to find his heated gaze focused on mine.
“Sorry,” I mutter, looking down at the matter at hand. “Not very sexy, I know.”
“Oh, on the contrary,” he says and inhales sharply when my hands finally wrap around his swollen cock. My palms glide up and down gently before giving it a firm squeeze. My thumb circles his head, spreading a bead of pre-cum, and he leans forward, lips and tongue tracing a path from my neck to my breasts. One of his big hands cups my breast and when he immediately bites down on my nipple, I gasp and whimper. His tongue soothes away the pain, swirling around the stiff peak.
His other hand slides down my thigh, fingers feeling the dimples and divots until they hook behind my knee. My hands go to his shoulders for balance as he lifts my foot until it’s on the bench. His fingers quickly glide back up my thigh, this time underneath it to where it’s most sensitive and softest.
Thomus’ lips release my nipple and he pulls back enough to see my face. “I think you’re very sexy,” he murmurs. “From this pretty little pussy of yours” - his fingers glide through my folds, teasingly spreading the slipperiness from the center to my clit - “to those lips I just can’t seem to get enough of.”
His thumb presses in on my clit and my train of thought struggles to stay on track. “You’re pretty hot too,” I say breathily. “You’ve got these shoulders and thighs and hands that just -” My words are cut off by a moan when he slips two fingers inside me.
“That just what?” he teases, unmistakably smug.
It takes me a moment to answer because his thumb in combination with his fingers curling against my g-spot have my hips rocking and my brain turning to mush. My breaths come in short pants and my eyes are pinched closed, focused on riding the pleasurable waves his fingers are orchestrating.
“Concentrate, darling,” he presses. “Answer me.”
“Hands,” I gasp, my fingers digging into his shoulders, “hands that do terrible… awful things to me.”
His fingers turn aggressive, pressing harder and rhythmic as he hums in approval. “That’s a good girl.”
His lips return to my nipple and that pushes me past the point of no return. A stream of curses and Thomus’ name tumble from my mouth. My toes curl and my body goes stiff as my orgasm washes over me. Thomus slows his long fingers, but still presses in hard on my g-spot as my pussy pulses around him.
When I can finally breathe again, I push at Thomus’ shoulders and he leans back, bringing his drenched digits up to his mouth. He groans at my taste and resituates himself on the bench, pushing his pants and briefs past his thighs. I’m still dazed from my orgasm when Thomus pulls me on top of him. He holds his cock at the base and guides me until he’s sliding home, deep inside my pussy.
“Oh fuck,” I moan, my eyes closing. This position never fails to put him as deep inside as possible, and if I really sit on his lap, he’s hitting my cervix. But that would be painful, so instead I move my hips around slowly, figuring out what angle works best and won’t kill my thighs. One particular move makes him groan and my eyes flutter open to find his locked intently on me, watching my body move. I definitely found the right one.
I start to go a little faster, a little harder. I have a hand on a window pane and the other grasping his shoulder to stabilize me. My thighs are burning, but the pain isn’t enough to make me stop. He’s inside me, and I love being connected like this. What I feel for him never feels more real than it does in moments like this. When I can’t be in denial.
With the increasing intensity of my hips, little whimpers start to tumble from my mouth alongside my panting. My bottom lip is nailed between my teeth and as I can feel my orgasm hurtling towards me, fuck is the only word coming out of my mouth.
Whenever he feels they could use more attention, his hands never fail to stray to my breasts. Supporting them as they bounce and sway, leaning forward to kiss and nibble at my nipples.
“So fucking beautiful,” I hear him grind out above the steady and erotic sound of our bodies joining.
My orgasm is close - so, so close. I’m starting to go crazed, desperate to cum again. Thomus is, too. I can hear it in his voice as he groans.
“Baby, I need you to cum on me.” His voice is strained like he’s in utter agony.
I let out a frustrated whimper as I pause to grind on his lap, hoping for an angle that hits my clit.
“I need - can you - ?” I gasp out.
I don’t even have to finish my sentence before his fingers wiggle in under my belly. My pussy’s so slippery, the pads of his fingers find the hood of my clit and press in, rubbing it in circles. My hips jerk, bouncing up and down on his cock, continuing even as my orgasm finally crashes over my body. I throw my head back as my back arches. His body stiffens below me as he cums, groaning out his pleasure.
“Beautiful darling, well done,” he pants with praise after we both have a chance to breathe, his voice shaking. “I lov-”
Thomus is abruptly cut off by loud banging on his door.
We both jump like we’ve been hit. There’s a moment where our eyes meet and I see panic cross his face just as it does on mine.
“Thomus!” a familiar man’s voice calls from beyond the door.
Thomus blinks, his expression hardening. He brings a finger up to his lips, warning me to be quiet. “Closet,” he whispers. “Go. Now.”
Nodding, my legs are like jelly as I push myself off of him. He’s hastily throwing on his suit as I bend to scoop up my nightgown and undies. I dash for the closet. It’s dark enough I can just hide behind the open door. Instead of the nightgown though, I opt for my pants and hoodie. Plus a pair of Thomus’ socks while I’m at it because mine are lost in the sheets somewhere.
While I’m desperately dressing, the man at the door calls for Thomus again. “Where have you been, Thomus? I’ve been sent to fetch your ungrateful ass.”
I squeeze behind the closet door to peek through the crack between the hinges just as Thomus strides to the door. He’s fully dressed and smoothing back his hair with his fingers. He pauses to take a deep breath before opening the door.
It’s Rodolphus.
“What do you want,” Thomus demands, sounding amazingly composed.
Rodolphus leans a hand on the doorframe. “You missed your brother’s toast,” he says, a mocking lilt to his tone. His hair is disheveled, the tie to his tux hangs loose around his neck. “How could you have missed this moment to show support for the Dark Lord? Your family? ”
“I don’t answer to you,” Thomus says. He keeps his back straight and his chin up.
Rodolphus puts a finger to his chin, tapping it. “And then I remembered a few other times you’ve mysteriously disappeared from similar events,” Rodolphus continues before abruptly shoving past Thomus into the room. Thomus tries grabbing his coat tails, but he somehow avoids him.
Rodolphus stops in the middle of the room, eyeing it while slowly turning back to Thomus. He inhales heavily through his nose and steps back towards the window with the bench. “A moment ago, I was convinced you were up here fucking my wife,” he says casually. He reaches for something on it and my anxiety explodes in my chest the moment I see him pick up my glasses. “Of course, I was only half-right. This room reeks of sex, but my wife has never hid.”
Rodolphus drops my glasses and stomps on them with his shoe, crushing my lenses under his sole. The glass crunches as he turns, backing up towards the closet. Thomus watches him with furious eyes. His hands are empty, but I know in the blink of an eye he’d have his wand.
“I’m surprised you can still get it up for her since her… accident ,” Rodolphus taunts. “She’s utterly repulsing if you ask me.”
“I didn’t,” Thomus bites.
He’s so close to the closet. My fingers feel for anything on the shelf behind me and immediately feel the unmistakable smooth metal of Thomus’ shoehorn, the very one I tried to pummel him with.
Maybe New Year’s Eve kisses are good luck.
I raise it over my head as he steps to the doorway.
“Your silence is very telling,” Rodolphus chuckles as he slowly steps into the closet. I hear his footsteps on the wood floor as he disappears on the other side of the door.
I’ve shoved my anxiety down enough so I don’t panic as he reappears, wand scanning the room.
Just as he turns to me, I transfigure the shoehorn into a dagger, and hold it up to his throat.

Addicting Temptations, Chapter 16 (Final Chapter)
Tumblr media
Jodie smoothed her hands down her sides and took in a deep breath. The dress she wore was a long and elegant dark green dress, incredibly beautiful and of course expensive. Bought especially for the big party that was just starting.
She smiled at herself in the mirror then walked out to David and Tom. Their breaths were taken away when they spotted her. Both took turns kissing and complimenting her.
She was a bit stunned at how they looked too, in expensive posh suits, looking very in charge. When they pulled on their leather gloves and donned their wolf masks, she was actually speechless and turned on.
‘I can smell you, pet… So will every other Alpha in the room.’ Tom growled, stealing another kiss from her.
‘But they can’t have you, because you are ours.’ David grinned.
‘We have something for you.’ Tom reached into his pocket and pulled out a mask for her.
Her eyes widened as she gasped. ‘For me?’
Tom and David nodded as Tom gently put the mask over her eyes, gently tying it at the back. She rushed over to look at herself in the mirror again, giggling giddily at her reflection.
It was a beautiful mask, similar to her Alphas. A mix of gold and silver, but it wasn’t a wolf of course. It was a bunny with the ears sticking up too.
‘Absolutely divine.’ David purred when she walked back over to them.
‘The wolves delicious little bunny.’ Tom grinned and playfully bit at her neck.
Jodie trembled and tried to calm herself, she knew she was already giving off the aroused scent and she didn’t want to make it worse. But Tom and David had mischievous smiles, knowing exactly what they were doing to her.
It was a short trip in the car to where they were having the party, Jodie was so excited she could barely sit still on the journey there.
And she had a feeling Chris would be there… She actually hoped he would be. So she could show off her new Alphas.
When they arrived, they went upstairs first through a back door. Then when they heard Jessica introducing them, including with their lovely omega. They put their arms out to Jodie, who took them both and then they walked out and started descending the stairs.
Everyone was quiet apart from some gasps of shock and a few whispers. Mostly at seeing the omega on their arms with a very slight bulge of her stomach, which definitely wasn’t from eating too much.
Chris was hovering at the back of the crowd. His eyes widened when he saw her. He couldn’t be certain, but he was fairly sure that was Jodie. It certainly looked like her, aside from some differences, including the mask… And he felt so sad upon seeing her belly. They’d tried for a baby numerous times during her heat, but it had never happened.
But her smell wasn’t her. It was different… But he knew it would be if she had been claimed by another Alpha. And if she was pregnant, that would be a different added scent too.
He was so sure, yet at the same time he really hoped it wasn’t.
One of their most valued customers went over to greet the Alphas and their omega first.
‘Congratulations is in order it seems.’ The man smiled widely.
‘Yes, thank you.’ Tom nodded politely as he put his hand over Jodie’s stomach.
They moved around the room, speaking to some guests. They refused to answer personal questions about Jodie, who just kept quiet anyway and let her Alphas do all the talking.
Then Chris decided to make his move.
Charlie had been keeping a close eye on him all evening. When he’d heard that Tom and David were allowing him to come, he knew he would need to be on alert. So he moved in instantly and put himself between Chris and the three main guests.
‘Not any closer, Sir.’ He said firmly.
Tom, David and Jodie looked at Chris, but said nothing.
Jodie wasn’t sure why she was shocked at herself, but she didn’t feel anything at all when she saw her previous Alpha… Absolutely nothing.
‘Jodie? It’s you, isn’t it?’ Chris asked, cautiously looking at the Alphas around her.
They still said nothing. But then David leaned over to Charlie and whispered something into his ear. Charlie nodded. He then escorted Chris to a side room down the hall.
After speaking to a few more people, Tom and David excused themselves with Jodie for a moment. They headed down the hall to the room where Chris was waiting with Charlie.
Chris looked hopeful when he saw Jodie walk in with the other two.
‘Please… I need to know. Jodie, what happened? Why? It is you, isn’t it? Please. It’s me, your Alpha.’ He pleaded desperately, but Charlie still didn’t let him get close to any of them.
Jodie stepped forward, Tom and David stayed where they were, hands folded on front of them. Calmly watching their omega take charge of the situation.
‘You are not my Alpha. Tom and David are my Alphas.’ She spoke confidently.
Chris’ eyes widened, there was no denying that was Jodie now he’d heard her speak. He let out a sob.
‘Jodie… come back to me.’ He pleaded.
‘Do you know what it takes to get a private audience with us?’ Jodie asked him.
Tom and David had to contain themselves from grinning. They were so proud of their omega.
‘Wh… what?’ Chris looked super confused.
‘Those who do, don’t get out again to tell the tale.’
Just as she slipped her mask off, giving Chris full confirmation that it was her, Hannibal came up behind him. And before Chris could even comprehend what was happening, Jodie gave a slight nod to Hannibal, who stabbed a large needle into Chris’ neck. Causing him to collapse to the ground in an instant.
Jodie slipped her mask back on and turned to her two Alphas. They put their hands out towards her, and she took them without hesitation. They headed back to the party, with Charlie behind them.
Hannibal stood over Chris’ body and glanced over to the back corner of the room with a smirk.
‘Well, my darling. It seems we have lovely fresh meat for our dinner tonight.’ He purred at his omega, Emilia, who was lurking in the shadows, watching her Alpha at work.
‘I look forward to it.’ She grinned over at him.

Loki's Silent Sentry (Part 1)
Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6 / Part 7
Pairing: Loki x female reader (y/n)
Summary: You are not just a soldier in Asgard's Royal Army, you are Lieutenant Y/L/N, Prince Loki's personal guard, his sentry and you are not supposed to fall in love with him. If you followed your training properly, you should never have even spoken to him. As a sentry, you are expected to remain silent and invisible as you shadow your appointed member of the royal family or member of the court protectively throughout their daily tasks.
Rumors (that happen to be true) begin to circulate through the palace that you serve the younger prince of Asgard both outside and inside his chambers. There is little you can do once word of your off duty activities spread through every maid, cook, gardener and seamstress in the palace. You soon find even the soldiers in your own company are now questioning how exactly you had come to earn your seemingly quick rise to lieutenant.
As the annual Winter Solstice Ball approaches, you come to the heartbreaking realization that your relationship with Loki must come to an end if you are both to fulfill your duties.
Warnings: Angst, arguing, Thor being an absolute ass, Odin being a terrible father
A/N: I did some googling quickly for military terms and ranks (since I have no previous knowledge of them) as well as some basic information about the royal guards in England. I took some of what I found interesting and then made up most of the rest to fit what I needed for my story so there will be some similarities. Also... I haven't written anything in like a year (maybe longer) so be nice please 💚💚
Tumblr media
You stand at constant attention in silence outside of Prince Loki's private office. You listen to the birds singing through the open window across the hall from where you are posted and wonder how long you could go without making a sound. You have been trained by the Royal Army for years to remain silent, vigilant, always listening and watching your surroundings for anything dangerous or out of the ordinary. You are always on guard, ready to protect Prince Loki should the need arise. Not that someone with his fighting skills or magic would need protection from a simple soldier like you. You were assigned this post purely because it was customary for each member of the royal family to have a sentry, whether they actually need one or not.
Your attention is drawn to the sound of footsteps approaching from your left. You are unable to determine how many people are coming but judging by their pace and heavy boots, they are most likely all soldiers. Commandant Thorn, the soldier in charge of your company, makes his way down the hall at a steady pace. He is followed by your captain, Captain Skye who is holding a leather bound book containing the names of all the sentries and their current posts. Trailing the two older men, are four low ranking soldiers you can't remember the names of.
The group of soldiers comes to a stop in front of you and your fellow guard and you both salute your commanding officers. "Lieutenant Y/L/N," Captain Skye says, opening his book for a moment. He closes it and looks up at you, "Prince Loki will of course be attending the Winter Solstice Ball. You will be required to escort him to the ballroom and remain on guard there until he dismisses you for the evening."
You nod in response, carefully hiding the heavy emotions you have surrounding the upcoming ball. The soldiers move on and you are left alone with the other guard again. She says nothing to you and even if you were allowed to speak, you know Sergeant Sands wouldn't talk to you. She is not your friend, none of the members of the Royal Guard are your friends. It wasn't always this way though, it is only since you were promoted to the rank of lieutenant that the guards you work with began to distance themselves from you.
You had been assigned to Prince Loki for three months when you were promoted from sergeant to lieutenant. Your fellow soldiers immediately assumed the young prince had a hand in it as he did little to hide how he favored you over the other guards who were previously assigned to him. The rumors about you spending the night in Loki's chamber instead of guarding it flowed through the palace soon after. You adamantly denied these rumors and any favoritism from the prince but it was a wasted effort. It also happened that the rumors were true to a point.
The door to Loki's office opens and you stand at attention as the court accountant exits, holding several rolls of paper and mumbling to himself. Sargeant Sands follows him without any orders needed, she is his sentry and will go where he goes. As she walks past by, she glances at you with what can only be described as a look of disgust. You look down at your boots, fully aware of what she is thinking.
You wait quietly for Loki to open the door again but you know him, he will want to read through all of his notes from today before he finalizes his meeting schedule for tomorrow. You have roughly half an hour until he will be done, half an hour to stand here and think about the dreaded Winter Solstice Ball.
Tumblr media
Another half an hour later, as expected, Loki opens the door and walks out. Waving his hand towards the door, he uses his magic to seal the room. He smiles warmly at you and you smile back at him for the first time today. This was your favorite part, the part where the sun goes down and Loki frees you from your constant silence.
He touches your cheek softly and leans in to kiss you. You kiss him back but pull away quickly as you hear footsteps approaching. You step away from Loki and stand at attention as Prince Thor comes around a corner. You keep your eyes straight ahead but you can feel Loki stiffening next to you, he and his brother get along much better when they are at court than they do in private.
The brothers greet each other politely and you silently wish the older prince would simply continue on his way but it doesn't seem likely. Your attention shifts to the window across the hall from you again, you can just barely glimpse the sunset over the tall evergreen trees in the distance. You know Loki will tell you if he and Thor discuss anything interesting so there is no need for you to listen to their conversation. The two of them continue for several long minutes before you realize Thor has said something to you.
"Lieutenant Y/L/N?" Thor says and you shake your head as you shift your focus.
"I'm sorry your highness, I was unaware you were speaking to me," you apologize. He had never spoken to you before and you were unsure why he would start now. Loki folds his arms across his chest and you feel uneasy at how annoyed he seems.
Thor laughs which does nothing to make you feel better. "I was wondering what it was about you that made you my brother's favorite," he says. "You must truly be special, a sentry's post typically only lasts three months, perhaps six at the most. You have been with Loki for how long now?"
You think for a moment before replying. You had been assigned to Loki for only a month before he first spoke to you and you had quickly become close friends. Three months after becoming friends with the prince, you slowly became more until you were completely in love with him.
"Fourteen months," you answer him in as few words as possible.
Thor looks at his younger brother with a smirk, "Fourteen?" Loki remains silent and you can tell his older brother is not even close to letting you leave soon. He turns his attention to you again, "So is it true then?"
"Is what true your highness?" you ask quietly.
"That you follow my brother's orders when you are wearing your armor and when you are not?" he laughs and his sentry smiles then looks towards the ground. "I could use a sentry like that, I grow tired of being followed by these shadows."
Loki's fist clenches but he answers Thor calmly. "Maybe if you learned your sentries name and weren't so insufferable to be around, they would remain at your service for longer than a month at a time," Loki says. "And you are the last person I would expect to listen to palace rumors. According to the most recent ones I've heard, you've slept with nearly half of the kitchen staff this month alone."
Thor smiles, proud of himself. You and Loki realize the stories you had overheard were true, if not understated. He explains, "That is why I assume the rumors of you and your little pet are true as well."
You find yourself in that brief moment wishing Loki would confirm everyone's suspensions. Not necessarily that you were sleeping together, that you were in love and wanted to be together. You know wishing for this is as useful as wishing it would rain gold. Once again you remind yourself that this is the way it will always be, until he marries a woman of high status and you are forgotten.
Instead of responding, Loki turns from his brother and walks down the hall towards the stairwell that leads to the royal family's chambers. You follow him silently, staying a few steps behind as always.
"Come now brother, I was merely joking," Thor calls from behind you but neither of you stop walking.
The two of you continue on in silence until you reach the top of the stairs and Loki's pace slows so he is walking next to you. His hand finds yours, his thumb gently stroking your knuckles. As soon as you feel his touch, you begin to relax.
"I'm sorry about my brother," he says quietly.
"His behavior isn't your fault," you reply. "And he is far from the first person to corner me about our relationship. I am used to denying the truth."
He stops, causing you to turn back towards him, your hand still holding his. He then takes a few small steps, closing the distance between you. Loki touches your cheek gently with his other hand. "I'm sorry Y/N," he tells you again. "I wish we didn't have to hide but you know there are some rules even I cannot break so openly. Maybe I should have hid my favoritism towards you better but I couldn't bear to have you reassigned. You mean too much to me."
You smile, "So I am your favorite sentry?"
He lets out a laugh, "You are my favorite person in the nine realms." You giggle at his answer and his fingers trail down your cheek until his thumb gently runs across your lips. He leans down to kiss you but just as his lips touch yours, you feel your heart jumps in your chest.
You hear several sets of footsteps and separate yourself from Loki in an instant. He looks down the hall as his mother, two of her maids and one guard come into view. She smiles brightly at both of you as she comes closer and you bow to the queen in respect. You find it hard to miss the side eye from her sentry or the whispers shared between her maids. Loki gives his mother a hug and wishes her a goodnight. She tells him to have a goodnight as well and continues on her way.
You and Loki walk off in the opposite direction towards his chambers and once you are alone again, Loki moves to take your hand but you flinch away. He looks hurt by your momentary rejection but he doesn't say anything. He knows how nervous you are about being seen touching him or speaking to him. You round the next corner and are flooded with relief as Loki's door finally comes into view. You fight the urge to smile, holding onto your composure as you've been trained.
Loki opens the door and steps inside, you follow him as you always do and he closes the door. He flicks his wrists towards you without a word and the heavy armor you wear over your clothing instantly settles itself neatly into a large chest. You take a few deep breaths, feeling as if most of the weight you have been carrying leaves you, but not all.
"Thank you your highness," you say out of habit.
"Please, never call me that in here," he reminds you gently. "In here I'm not a prince, I'm just Loki." He walks towards you and you don't realize you are moving away from him until your back hits the door and his body comes flush to yours. One hand settles on your hip while his other hand lifts your chin, causing you to look up at him. He continues, "And you are not Lieutenant Y/L/N, you are Y/N. The woman I am so deeply in love with." He smiles and you can't help but smile back at his words. All your worries vanish the instant his lips meet yours.
Tumblr media
You lay in Loki's arms watching the sunlight fill his room through the sheer curtains. You try to memorize the sound of his slow, steady breathing and the feel of his heart beat against your back as he holds you even in his sleep. You inhale deeply and focus on deciphering every herb and oil Loki uses to keep his hair soft. Closing your eyes, you use your senses to bring an image of Loki's face into your mind and try to hold it there.
"What are you thinking about my love?" he asks in a sleepy voice. You open your eyes and shift closer to him, pulling his arms tighter around your body. "Y/N, what's wrong?" he asks, now much more awake.
You swallow hard, trying to find the words. You had been thinking about what you needed to do most of the night but now that it was time, you weren't sure you would be able to do it.
"I've told you, you can speak freely here," he says softly, urging you gently as always to speak your mind when you were with him. His fingers move slowly up and down your arm as he tries to comfort you without knowing what is causing your distress.
"I need to transfer to a new post," you tell him. You hear him inhale sharply as his fingers suddenly go still.
Tumblr media
You stand outside Loki's office with Thor's new guard and two others in silence waiting for a very long meeting to conclude. You stifle a yawn and shift uncomfortably on your feet before regaining your composure. The tall guard standing across from you rolls his eyes while the woman next to him mumbles something that can only be about you.
It has been two days since you told Loki you wanted to transfer and you hadn't heard anything from your commanding officer. In the meantime, you decided to go back to sleeping in your assigned room at the soldiers quarters. You had forgotten how much you hated it there. The common areas are loud and there is little privacy, everyone is in everyone else's business. You barely leave your room, which is a surprise to no one. They wouldn't speak to you even if you did. You live in a world of utter silence surrounded by never ending noise.
You feel as if you are shattering from the inside out and you try to remind yourself that it needs to be this way. The two of you hid in his chambers as if it protected your relationship but it could never be real. How could it be when he could barely acknowledge your presence when in public. He is a prince and you are a soldier as were your parents, you were not high born. Loki is destined to marry the daughter of a council member and you will guard them and their children.
The door to Loki's office opens, you and the three guards stand at attention. Prince Thor walks out first, followed by two council members. They walk off in different directions, shadowed closely by their sentries but you remain, as always, at Loki's door.
Tumblr media
You stare at the wall in front of you for what feels like eternity. Your mind wanders between your favorite memories from your brief time with Loki and the crushing weight of your current reality. You stand up straighter when you hear the door swing open and Loki steps out.
"Lieutenant Y/L/N," he says, "I need to speak with you."
You nod and follow him into his office, closing the door behind you. You stand motionless, taking in his office and how much it feels like him. The dark wood bookshelves crowded with leather bound books, the chair pulled close to the window so he can see the garden below when drinking his afternoon tea, the green and gold accents on various pieces of furniture.
You sigh to yourself as you follow him to his desk. He takes a seat and you stand across from him with your arms behind your back, waiting for him to speak first.
"Y/N," he says informally but you don't relax. "Your transfer to a new post was not approved."
"Can I ask why your highness?" you keep the formalities as you've been trained.
"The Winter Solstice Ball is in less then a week," he answers as if you could forget. "The Royal Guard seems to be too busy tightening security and preparing for everyone's arrival to complete your paper work at this time."
"Understood, your highness," you say. "I should return to my post." You turn to head back outside of his office.
"Wait," he calls and you freeze just before you reach the door. You hear him get up from his seat and walk around the desk. "Please stay, talk to me Y/N. I miss you so much it hurts."
"I can't," you say almost in a whisper
He touches your arm and you turn to face him, seeing the pain in his eyes. "I miss the way your laughter filled my chambers. I miss hearing you hum to yourself when you think I can't hear you. I miss the sound of your voice and how easy it is to talk to you," he says and you force down a smile and the urge to hold him tightly.
"I can't bear to be without you," he tells you and you want to tell him you can't be apart from him either but you remain silent for fear you'll lose your resolve completely. He strokes your cheek gently and you close your eyes as you lean into his touch. "I love you," he says.
"I love you too," you tell him, seeing a spark of hope light his eyes. You shake your head and take a step away from him, "But I can't do this. I'm sorry." Before he can say anything else you tell him, "It will only hurt more the longer we wait to end this."
"We don't have to end this, now or ever," he insists as he steps towards you. "I promise I will find a way for you to be mine, not just when we are hidden away, but always. You believe me, don't you?"
"I want to," you tell him truthfully. Loki had promised several times to find a way to marry you but you thought it was false hope. "But this isn't a fairytale my prince, we don't always get a happy ending."

You want to disappear into the marble floor, to be sucked into the wall behind you or simply vanish into thin air but you can't. Instead, you must stand perfectly still and silent as you watch the dancing and merriment around you. You momentarily wish you would go back to a time when you didn't feel an ache in your chest at the mere thought of another woman being in Prince Loki's arms. Shaking your head just slightly, you chase away the thought. As much as this hurts, you will always cherish the limited time you shared with him.
The music changes tempo as the first of seven courses comes to an end. Couples begin to take to the open floor in the center of the ballroom. Prince Thor and Prince Loki make their way to the group of single, eligible women awaiting them, each at a different pace. The older prince seems to now exactly which woman he would like to spend time with first. He offers his arm to her and declares her the most beautiful woman at the ball, causing her to blush and giggle. The younger prince takes his time walking to the crowd and simply takes the hand of the closest woman without so much as glancing at her. His lack of interest does little to dampen her excitement however.
The dozen or so women who were not chosen move away from the dance area and you have to hold back a groan as they gather directly in front of you to wait for a chance with one of the princes. You can't help but listen to them discuss which prince they think is better looking or who they would prefer picked them. The first song ends and the two princes each select another dance partner. Again, Prince Thor takes little time deciding who he wants while Prince Loki simply offers his hand to the first woman he sees. You can practically hear him sigh as she holds his arm and walks quickly to the dance floor.
As the second song begins, one of the women briefly looks at you over her shoulder before motioning towards you to her friends. Your ears go red with embarrassment as she tells them the rumors of your past relationship with Loki just loud enough that she knows you will hear. Of course she gets the ending wrong. She assumes, like everyone else, that the prince grew tired of you and banished you from his bed chambers. You had to admit, it seemed a far more likely story than the truth.
You shift your attention to the ceiling for a moment, hoping that counting the candles in the chandeliers will distract you from their stares and comments. You only count to twenty seven before the sound of a glass shattering draws your gaze back to the guests. A council member laughs loudly, clearly drunk already, as a servant cleans the wine glass from the dance floor.
Your eyes scan the room and easily find Loki at the center of the crowd, a third woman in his arms. Your drawn to his face, studying his features. He smiles at the woman as he twirls her and she giggles but she doesn't know him like you do. She doesn't know that's the smile he uses at court, not the smile he shows you. Showed you, you correct yourself. He glances away, not holding eye contact with her as they move effortlessly across the dance floor.

After the final course is served, the dance floor fills for the last time and you sigh with relief that the night is almost over. You shift on your feet, looking down for a moment when the chatter of the women in front of you begins again. Why must they stand here to wait, you think to yourself.
The princes once again make their way to their potential dance partners and Thor makes his pick quickly. Loki stands in front of the women for a moment and your eyes lock with his as he looks between them.
"Pardon me," he says politely to the crowd as he moves forward, slipping past the confused women. He makes his way towards you and your breath catches in your throat. He stands in front of you and holds out his hand. You look at him, stunned by his actions. He smiles when you don't move, "Will you dance with me, my love?" Still you remain silent, looking past Loki to see how much attention his actions have drawn. "Don't look at them," he says, touching your cheek softly as you look at him again.
You steady your nerves and place your hand in his. The moment his fingers close around yours, you are surrounded by a light cloud of green, shimmery smoke. When Loki's magic fades, you are wearing a flowing emerald green gown with golden trim, perfectly matching his dress uniform. Your hair has been restyled to hold a small gold tiara with short horns, mirroring the helmet he had worn during his entrance.
"Gods, you look gorgeous in my colors," he says with a wide smile, causing you to blush. "To be fair, you are always beautiful but now it is clear to everyone here that you are mine." You feel as if your heart might burst when he calls you his, he had said it before but only when you were hidden away.
Loki keeps his fingers interlaced with yours as he leads you to the dance floor, straight through the group of now very angry women. Some cross their arms, others give you dirty looks and several make rude comments as you pass. You pause before stepping onto the dance floor, the chatter and stares coming from the guests near you holding you back. He senses your hesitation and leans down to place a kiss gently on your cheek.
Your mind can barely begin to process what is happening as he takes you straight to the middle of the dance floor. He places one hand on your hip and you place your hand on his shoulder as you had done so many times over the last few months. You and Loki shared several secret dances in his chambers and his office, he found it difficult to listen to music sitting still.
He holds you close, his eyes never leaving yours while you dance between the other guests. You focus on how amazing it feels to be back in his arms, ignoring the strange looks and whispers that surround you. He twirls you gracefully and you spin back into him, giggling as you final feel at ease. As the song draws to a close, Loki spins you one final time. When he pulls you back to him, he leans down slightly and your lips meet his.

You smile up at him, hoping this isn't a dream when you see his mother approaching you. You take a step away from Loki but he keeps his hand on your waist, not letting you go too far. You bow to the queen and she says, "I think it is my turn to dance with my son."
You nod quickly in agreement and Loki let's go of you, his magic fading instantly as your armor reappears. You walk through the crowd with your head down and return to your post, once again wishing you were invisible. The women watch you, gossiping wildly as you pass again. You can only imagine what they are saying but they are not your biggest concern at the moment.
Anxiously, you watch Queen Frigga and her son move across the dance floor. You can't hear what they are saying of course, but you can tell by her expression that there will be consequences for his actions. As the song ends you see your captain approach you and your stomach drops. Loki will not be the only one to be punished for choosing you.
"The king had summoned you to the throne room," he says in a stern voice. You nod in acknowledgement and when you look back towards the dance floor, Loki and his mother are gone.
