tommy actually looked nervous asking for a second chance. his shoulder's tensed up, his brows furrowed as he asks 'why not?' when buck says that this (their night together) doesn't have to change anything. it looks as if he was holding his breath, waiting for buck to refuse. he wants this second chance, he wants to be with buck but gets so wrapped up in his own doubt and insecurities he thinks there is a chance that buck will refuse the offer. he desperately wants that second chance but is prepared for the worst.

in other news, last night when i couldn't sleep and i was thinking about poa!philza, i had the craziest fucking idea to try to revamp my old botw x dsmp crossover but instead replace all the characters i didn't want to write anymore with qsmp characters. i'd be replacing characters like the Hermits from Hermitcraft---who i don't rly watch anymore and were mostly just there for filler roles---and uh, you know. coughdteamcough. (ugh sorry got some shit stuck in my throat. no idea what that was about. anyway,) i'd be making a behemoth of a crossover: dsmp x qsmp x botw. the original concept was already crack-y enough, and now im chucking in another mcrp server. what could go wrong?

if i genuinely want to do this though im gonna need a college-lecture-room-sized whiteboard three different colored markers and several hours because fitting everyone into spots and adjusting the lore and worldbuilding to accommodate them all without losing the hallmarks that make these characters them is a tall order, ya know? really i just miss my botw crossover :(( the sillies :((((

Firepilot headcanons

Buck is the little spoon 90% of the time. Tommy loves being able to hold him in his arms and never wants to let go. He buries his face into Buck's hair and they just breathe together, holding each other. The other 10% of the time happens when Buck finally convinces Tommy it's okay if he wants to be held too.

Tommy loves doing romantic gestures (big or small) because Buck isn't used to being the one being wooed. Buck always ends up flustered and blushing, and Tommmy thinks he's adorable.

Buck cooks dinner for the first time and Tommy shows up to their next date with a pink kiss the cook apron that has hearts plastered all over it.

Their flying lessons end early because Buck cannot focus for the life of him and keeps trying to kiss Tommy even though he's the one in the pilot seat.

The first time Tommy has a nightmare around Buck, for all his confidence and swagger, he feels embarrassed and caught off guard. He's the older one, the bigger one, the one who's supposed to make Buck feel happy and secure. They have a conversation that ends with them promising each other to always tell each other if they're struggling with letting go of bad calls or bad dreams.

The first time Tommy calls Buck baby Buck practically melts into a puddle of sappy, kiss-drunk goo and gets all soft and asks to hear it again.

They're the worst patients when they're injured, absolutely insufferable. They're also both incredibly needy and Tommy gets super clingy/whiny about how he wants his Evan.

Tommy can't wait to spoil Buck. He's absolutely smitten by the kid. Tommy thinks Buck is the best thing to happen to him since moving to Harbor and isn't going to let him slip away when he's just found him.

Hen, Chim and Buck go to confront Tommy about an anti-DEI meeting he's attending, but have they got the wrong end of the stick and does it lead to a Bucktommy reunion (spoiler yes and yes) Preview:

Tommy’s been running circles in Buck’s brain for so long that it takes a full minute to realize Hen is actually saying his name out loud, in real time. He isn’t just imagining it. 

Why is Hen saying Tommy’s name? Is Tommy coming? Should he call Tommy? Those three little dots keep popping up in their messages. 

He blinks, dragging himself out of his thoughts, and sees Chim sitting across from Hen, mid-conversation, both of them wearing the same expression: disappointment.

Buck knows that feeling all too well. It’s settled in his chest like a permanent resident, a dull ache that hasn’t left since the night he asked Tommy to move in—and Tommy, looking at him with something close to regret, had said, I was your first, Buck. Not your last. You’ll find someone else. 

“I really thought he’d changed, you know?” Chim shakes his head, frustration clear in his voice. “Standing up with Sal to get Gerard removed, actually talking with us like a decent human being. But I guess it was all for show. I can’t believe it.”

“What?” Buck leans in now, tuning in fully, because whatever this is, it’s bad. He can feel it in his gut. “What’s going on?”

Hen sighs, sliding her glasses up her nose before giving him that look, the one full of concern and sympathy. Buck hates that look, no matter how well-intentioned it is. He’s had his fill of it. Everyone has something to say about his breakup, but no one really cares what he has to say about it.

“There’s an anti-DEI talk happening tonight,” she explains. “Some group is pushing for the LAFD to adopt the federal government’s ‘recommendation’ to eliminate DEI programs.”

Buck scoffs, incredulous. “That’s bullshit. Half these people don’t even understand what DEI is.”

Chim lets out a humorless chuckle. “Yeah, well… Tommy is speaking at it.”

The words take a second to land. Buck blinks. Once. Twice. “Wait, what?” He lets out a breathless laugh, shaking his head. “No. No way. He wouldn’t—he couldn’t .” His voice rises slightly. “He’s our friend. My ex. He’s an ally.”

Hen doesn’t say anything. She just reaches into her bag and slides a flyer across the table.

Buck stares at it, the bolded words slicing through his denial like a blade: Key Speaker: Thomas Kinard, Senior Firefighter and LAFD Pilot, Harbour Station.

He scans the rest, bile rising in his throat. It’s all there, spelled out in black and white—a call to action for people who believe the LAFD has strayed from its core mission. The wording is insidious, designed to incite outrage: public safety is being sacrificed in favor of pandering to minorities.

His stomach churns. His fingers tighten around the edges of the flyer.

“Actions speak louder than words, Buck,” Hen says softly.

Chim exhales sharply, shaking his head. “In this case, I’d say words are just as loud.”

Buck doesn’t respond. He just stares blankly at the flyer, his pulse hammering in his ears, because it’s hard… almost impossible to accept that his Tommy, his stubborn, slightly messed-up but ultimately good Tommy, could be standing on the wrong side of this. ** Please note, I am always pro Tommmy, so don't read if you are anti-Tommy.**

Iiro is Harriet's (the main character Tommmi's wife) ex-boyfriend from high school. The joke behind his character is that he never got over her and has been pining for her since, and Tommi is weirded out by his behaviour and kind of intimidated because he's so handsome.

In the movie, I believe when he shows up in the house, he says to Tommi "I'm finally over your wife with the help of hypnotism". Tommi says his wife has left him, and the camera pulls into Iiro's ecstatic smile before he says something alone the lines of "oh, I'm so sorry to hear that..."

okay pondering how buck confesses/says he’s in love with eddie (but not TO eddie). bc rn there is the possibility of further conversation w tommy on that front, or, which i like better, he could go to maddie w the information. MY ideal scenario rn is a mix of both, based in what i think is most fun to me.

for funnies i like the idea that the 118 and tommy are in the same place at some point during the disaster. dont ask me what theyre doing but its u know firefighter things. and buck is glancing over at tommmy and says. HEY (cus its loud he has to kinda yell). HEY. I THINK YOU WERE RIGHT. and tommy says WHAT. and buck says again. YOU WERE RIGHT. YOU KNOW. ABOUT? and chim can say HEY CAN WE FOCUS RIGHT NOW?

and only laterrrrrr does buck sit down with maddie and say seriously. i think im in love with eddie.

and this way i get a fun follow up to 811 kitchen scene, but maddie is the first person he genuinely tells about being in love with eddie.

the bar scene everyone is saying it is Ravi or Connor and whatever the wife’s name is. Can I ask? How do you not it’s not Tommy? Like what it’s the lighting? It kind of makes sense in the potline that he goes back to the bar and he sees Tommy and Tommy is like oh you aren’t dating Eddie or something. What if he ended up with that girl he met on that date with Tommmy?

She’s literally MY CAT! and his dad the orange cat passed away (frozen to death) I had him in my house and he ran out and I couldn’t find him and we saw him dead and cold as ice the next day. Okay now gus gus, he’s 4 months old we just got him so he’s new to the family. Hes white and grey with hazel and green eyes, his eyes change colors a lot so i don’t know his real eye color.
