In Buck's defense, he doesn’t mean to ask this question right then. It just slips out. He's lying in the big, strong arms of his very hot, amazing boyfriend, both sweaty and still breathless. He’s blissed out and fucked out, and so content and still dizzy after a mindblowing orgasm. So he doesn’t have a lot of control over his thoughts and words right now. So he surprises even himself when the question flies out of him. “Do you want to have children?” he asks casually, absentmindedly playing with their intertwined fingers where they’re splayed on his chest, as he lays on his back, Tommy pressed to his side. “What?” Tommy asks, surprise and even shock evident in his voice, and only then Buck realizes what he said, and he feels his eyes widen and face starts to burn, and he stares at the ceiling, but feels Tommy’s gaze on the side of his head. “I- I- I mean, like ever, some day, down the line- not like- I mean, you know, I- I just thought we should talk about it if- if- if it’s going where I hope it’s going- because I- we’ve been together for a while and I hope that- I think I-” he starts rambling and stumbling over his words, panicking just a little bit. Fuck, they’ve been doing so good the past few months, it’s honestly his best relationship he’s been in, and now he goes and screws it up by being too much, too soon, too serious- “Sorry, this is fast, I probably just freaked you out, sorry-” “Evan.” Tommy’s free hand lands on his cheek, and he gently turns Buck’s head towards himself. He meets Tommy’s soft gaze, and relaxes a little instantly. Tommy doesn’t look freaked out, just surprised, but there’s a hint of a smile dancing on his lips. “Hey, it’s okay. You just surprised me a little, that’s all. None of my relationships really got to the stage of talking about it, and if I tried, they freaked out. So I didn’t want to bring it up too soon, but you’re right, it is something to discuss. What spurred this on right now?” he asks, thumb gently moving along Buck’s cheek.

I want an entire era of Buck and Tommy being shy and nervous around each other. Not because they’re uncomfortable, but because the affection and energy they show one another is so obviously genuine that it’s staggering.

I want Buck visibly blushing at random texts from Tommy while at work, and the others tease him about it. I want Tommy desperately wanting to impress Maddie and win her approval, him hounding Buck about the things he should or shouldn't say (Buck finds it adorable, by the way), and it being completely unnecessary because Maddie approves of Tommy instantly.

I want them both going in for a kiss at the same time and nervously laughing before one of the other takes the lead. I want one of them anxiously alluding to the other that they can stay over after a date night.

I want Tommy giving Buck flirty compliments and Buck blushing and not being able to respond which just makes Tommy proud of himself.

I want their first time exchanging gifts to be a nightmare for Buck because Tommy sends flowers with cards and he doesn’t want to disappoint when in reality Tommy enjoys seeing him panic and would take and appreciate anything Buck gave him.

If Buddie never goes canon and Buck, in season 15 of the show, is happily married (to Tommy, or someone else who's well written and matches beautifully with him), adopted a kid, bought a house, has a dog and cat, slowly but surely dealt with all his trauma and anxieties, is progressing in his career and taking on new responsibilities, and has healthy and loving relationships to friends and family outside of work - the hardcore Buddie stans: "Nope, he's still on that damn hamster wheel. It ain't good if it isn't Eddie."

No thoughts just Tommy and Buck slowly learning about little details about each other as they continue dating. Tommy learns how much Buck loves having his hair pulled, Buck learns about the whine Tommy makes if he kisses the spot just behind his ear and becomes obsessed with finding new ways to make his boyfriend sound needy like that. Tommy finds out Buck enjoys being taken care of, but also that he loves spoiling Tommy when he can. When Tommy finds out Buck can cook, he suddenly ends up with home cooked meals more often than before. Tommy was never a bad cook, but he only knew the basics. Buck learns how much Tommy loves seeing him in LAPD Air Ops merch (specifically shirts and hoodies with Kinard somewhere on it). Tommy discovers Buck's the most agreeable when he's just waking up, all tired and needy and cuddly.
