Mini-review:

If I had to choose one word to define this show, it would be "lovely". I couldn't help but smile (almost) constantly throughout its twelve episodes. For some reason, it made me feel nostalgia for my teenage years, even though my high school experience was vastly different from the one shown here. I also love that the show puts its main focus on friendship and the evolution of its characters. In fact, it reminded me a lot of Kimi ni Todoke, which is one of my favorite animes/mangas ever. It had been a really long time since I last came across a show that managed to capture those same feels and vibes. Seriously, Skip and Loafer made me feel warm and happy, and it was overall an incredibly pleasant experience. I hope they make more seasons, cause these characters are just so lovable. Or, well, I guess I could always read the manga 👀

Néobistrot  Encore un cuisinier japonais dans un bistrot français ? C’est entendu. Mais le curriculum vitae de celui-ci tient en deux mots : « Yves » et « Camdeborde« . Daï Shinozuka a en effet accompagné pendant de longues années le bondissant Béarnais du carrefour de l’Odéon à l’Avant-Comptoir (VIe), avant de se poser avec son épouse. Tomoko, dans ce troquet au décor franchement passe-partout. Sa cuisine ? Sans doute un peu plus franco que nipponne, à l’instar du risotto d’épeautre à l’encre de seiche, aux coques et aux bulots, de la poitrine de cochon confite et rôtie aux haricots maîs, ou encore des saint-jacques rôties au bouillon de citronnelle et combava, tous exécutés avec un talent et une sensibilité indubitables. Clientèle franco et nippone particulièrement fidèle : autant dire qu’il est préférable de réserver son couvert.
