Sweden, the Nordic country that produced Volvo and Saab, is known for its strength in rallying, but circuit racing is also surprisingly popular. In the 2000 Swedish Touring Car Championship, which was contested by super touring cars, Tommy Rustad, driving a Primera, won the championship after a close battle with the Audi A4 Quattro and Volvo S40. Rustad is a Norwegian who also competed in the BTCC in 1998. This is Nissan's second consecutive victory in the Manufacturer's Championship.
