All hail
Sophie, humming while brushing her hair: hmmm..
Jim, walks up behind her and covers her eyes: guess who..?
Sophie, playfully: oh gee I don't know, Lukas maybe?
Jim: oh please you already know who it is babe. *Uncovers her eyes*
Sophie: I know, I was only teasing *gives him a peck on the cheek*
Jim: I wanted to give you something that I bought.
Sophie: hm, what is it..?
Jim, pulls out a shell small jewels necklace with small jewels: tada!
Sophie: Jim it's lovely! Thank you..
Jim: I was in the market today and was thinking about a certain someone when I saw this beauty. I thought to myself, huh, who do I know is as beautiful as this necklace that I found.. and you know who said it was..?
Sophie, playfully: I can't seem to put my finger on it.. 🤔
Jim: It was you.
Sophie: oh Jim, you're so sweet.. *hugs him*
Jim, hugs her back: I know.
//The two lean in for a kiss until Lukas pops his head in, sharing a hug with the two.//
Lukas: YAY! Group hug!! What are you guys talking about??
Jim, displeased: oh, hey Lu, were just having an intimate moment.. but it's fine, its whatever.
Lukas: whoops! Sorry about that, didn't mean to ruin the moment. *Rubs the back of his neck*
Sophie, giggles: it's okay, maybe next time Jim *kisses his cheek softly*
Jim, blushes softly: thanks babe.
Lukas: anyway, came to tell you all, Silver and Elinor made breakfast.
Sophie: we'll be there in a while, just gotta finish up getting ready.
Lukas, nods: aight, see y'all later! *Leaves the room*
Jim: now that we're alone.. mind if I can get that kiss?
Sophie: okay you can.. *Gives him a peck on the cheek* now get out because I'm going to change.
Jim, shrugs: whatever you say babe! *Leaves the room*
//Jim walks into the dining area where everyone was sitting at the table. He sits next to Ollie. Ollie notices the lovey dovey look on Jim's face.//
Ollie: Something on your mind Jim?
Jim: huh? Oh it's nothing.. just thinking about how I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
Ollie: what did you win the lottery or somethin'?
Emma: more like the lottery of l o v e
Jim, playfully: pfft yeah right.. Just because I'm with the most beautiful, intelligent, kindest girl in the world doesn't mean- wait.. yeah you're definitely right.
Emma, giggles: remember to have me as a bridesmaid at your and Sophie's wedding ;) *goes to sit down next to Jim*
Jim: that won't be for a while..
Elinor, places a bowl of porridge in front of Jim: aw young love, a precious thing to cherish. Reminds me of when me and Silver were younger. Butterflies in our stomachs and completely all over each other.
Silver: you act as if we still don't do that now.
Elinor: oh I know.. were just not young anymore. *Kisses Silver on the cheek*
Silver: like that makes a difference *hugs her from behind*
Fisch, jokingly: you two love birds gonna join us to eat or make out in the middle of breakfast?
Elinor: heh, you're right. Let's sit down Silver.
//Just as they were about to seat themselves, a comet had scrapped by the chip. Creating a large hole on the side of the ship.//
Silver: oh you've got to be kidding me!
Cetus: huh.. maybe I shouldn't have parked here.. sorry Silver.
Silver, sighs: I don't blame ya lad. No one could've predicted this happenin..
Andrew: we should go to Montressor to get that fixed up. It isn't too far from here.
Silver: I just hope we'll be able to make it.
//Sophie had finally finished up changing. She heard the commotion and worried something bad happened. Sophie rushed towards Jim.//
Sophie: what's going on? Is everything ok?? Jim, are you okay???
Jim: Babe, I'm fine! We just had a "little" accident on the ship.
Sophie: Little??! It felt like we crashed into something!
Jim: ummm.. more like something crashed into us.
Sophie, sighs: okay, this is fine.. We're going to be okay right..?
Jim: of course we are! They're just going to stir the ship towards Montressor, they'll get it fixed then bata bing, bata boom! It'll be fixed up and it'll be like the damaged never happened.
Sophie: I sure hope they do.
//A few minutes went by and Cetus managed to stir the ship towards a docking area. After having a conversation with a repairman, a majority of the crew left the ship. Deciding to explore or purchase since they were on Montressor.
Sophie and Jim decided to take a walk. They held hands as the two looked around the many shops and stands.//
Jim: Do you want to get something to eat Sophie? You kinda missed breakfast back there.
Sophie: oh, um, sure!
Jim: what should we get?
Sophie: hmm, how about.. a smoothie! I just want something light and easy to carry around for now.
Jim: Okay! Let's go!
//The two got into a line at a smoothie stand. As they waited, something caught the eye of Sophie. A few feet from the couple was a group of people reading newspapers. They seemed panicked as they chatted about what was in the news. Interested, Sophie walked over to the newspapers.//
Sophie, picks up a newspaper: huh?
//On the front cover showed a cryptic image of a woman with black hair in a red and black dress. They were holding to what appeared to be a staff. Next to them was a green woman with pink hair. The image couldn't make out what she was supposed to be. Maybe like a plant?//
Sophie: says here that the proclaimed dead Queen Hatred and her henchman Veronica have been spotted inside of Amoretia.. huh? Never heard about this lady before.
???: HEY!
//Sophie turned around to see a guard standing a few inches away from her.//
Guard #1: You! You're coming with me!
Sophie: uh.. no..?
Guard #1: you have to. They've been looking for you.
Sophie:
Sophie: who?
Guard #1: The high counsel of Terra. Now come with me! *Grabs Sophie by her shoulder*
Sophie, tries to jerk herself out of his grip: get your hands off me!
//Jim, who was about to purchase the smoothies, quickly turned his head when hearing Sophie yell. He ran over to her and the guard.//
Jim: you heard what she said! Let go of her!
Guard #1: can't. The high counsel told me not to.
Jim: high counsel??
Cetus: what is going on around here?
//The others had arrived when seeing Sophie and Jim in danger.//
Guard #1: don't I recognize you..?
Cetus: No, I don't believe we've met.
Guard: Wait, I do know you! You're that cursed cephalopid that stole from Terra's merchant ships!
Cetus:
Cetus: it was someone else.
Guard: I'm not letting you go this time! You and your entire entourage are coming with me!
Silver, smugly: oh really? You and what ar-
//A bunch of other soldiers pop out of nowhere.//
Silver:
Silver: I didn't even get to finish my sentence and you already knew what I was going to say.
//In the next scene, everyone except for Sophie were in the dungeon of the Terran castle.//
Valentino: why am I here?? I'm not a criminal like the rest of you!
Andrew: I'm pretty sure coercing with theives and pirates still counts as a crime.
Valentino: what?! I don't know that!
Elinor, sighs: hopefully our trials are fair and they actually give us, I don't know, maybe a few months behind bars? Then again chances of that are very low.
Valentino: you mean we'll be sent to the gallows??? But I still have some unfinished designs to do! Oh this is horrible!
Silver: oh shut it for once Val!
//In private meeting room of the castle, the counselmen were standing in front of Sophie.//
Sophie; who are you people? Why'd you put my family and boyfriend in jail???
Counselman #1: they were wanted criminals that deserved to be locked up.
Sophie: let them go! I demand it!
Counselman #1: you are so much better than them, why do you affiliate yourself with such hooligans?
Sophie: because I love them!
Counselman #2: Miss Sophie, do you know about your royal heritage?
Sophie: royal.. heritage..?
Counselman#2: hm, well you're father was the brother of Queen Illysa. Making him a-
Sophie: prince..?
Counselman #1: correct
Sophie: So technically I'm a.. princess..?
Counselman #2: also correct.
Sophie: I- I-.. why..?
Counselman #1: we need your help Miss Sophie.
Sophie: I don't understand.
Counselman #1: Queen Illysa has been turned to stone and we need your help guidance!
Counselman #2: yes certainly! We need your guidance on how to defeat Hatred!
Counselman #3: what?? I thought we agreed that we'd make peace with her??
Sophie: I-
Counselman #2: no, we need her to wage against Hatred! Why would we make peace treaty with that lunatic??
Sophie: um-
Counselman #3: because Hatred is going to kill us all once she gets her army back! Listening to her demands is the way to go!
Sophie: can I-
Counselman #1: enough out of the both of you! We need her guidance!
Counselman #2: yes with war!
Counselman #3: no, peace!
Counselman #2: war!
Counselman #3: peace!
Counselman #2: WAR!
Counselman #3: PEACE!
Counselman #2: WAR!
Counselman #3: PEACE!
Sophie: F*CKING SHUT UP!!!
//All counselman look at her with a shocked looks on their faces.//
Sophie: please... As your queen.. princess.. whatever.. can you let my family go?
Counselman #1: but they're-
Sophie: I KNOW WHAT I SAID!
Counselman #1: of course your majesty.
//Down in the dungeon, everyone seemed to accept the fact that they were going to get hanged. Except for Valentino.//
Valentino: I can't, I can't! This isn't happening!
Silver: Just say you're prayers. You'll feel less scared.
Valentino: there's so many things I haven't done! Like making a gown for a princess or skydiving or um, uh- I CAN'T DIE THIS SOON!
Guard, unlocks the door and opens it: congratulations, you've all been let go by the queen.
Cetus: the queen? Huh.., she most be feeling extra generous today.
Valentino: YES! FREEDOM!
Guard: not so fast horn head, she wants to see you all.
Cetus: nevermind. We're doomed.
Valentino: ಥ_ಥ
//All of them went to a private meeting room. They opened the doors to see Sophie and the other counselmen.//
Jim: Sophie! *Tries to run towards her*
Counselman #2, stops Jim: now what do you think you're doing???
Jim: huh?
Counselman #2: what? You're not going to bow to your queen? Show some respect!
Jim, looks at Sophie; Sophie..?
Sophie, bows her head: it's true.
//Jim looked very shocked. He tried to take in this new information but he had so many questions. Did she now she was a queen? Why couldn't she tell him?? Or why did they need her now??//
Counselman #2: didn't you here me boy? Bow before-
Sophie: that is unnecessary. Now, please leave us.
Counselman #1: what about Hatred? What will we do and prepare for?
Sophie: I'll figure that out later. I want to talk with my family first.
//The counselman #1 nodded as he and the other counselmen left the room. As soon as they left, Jim went up to Sophie.//
Jim: what the heck is going on??
Sophie: I don't know! They want me to handle a situation with a lady named Hatred?? I don't even know who that is! I don't know if I should go to war or peace but either one seems like a bad option!
Jim: babe calm down! You can think about it later...
Sophie, whimpering: then all of a sudden I'm made a queen and I found out my dad was the brother to the queen and I- I- *falls to her knees* all of this info is too much for me right now..
Jim, gets on his knees: It's gonna be okay, I promise. We'll figure this out together!
Emma: Jim's right! We've got your back Sophie!
Victor: absolutely! If you need some advice just tell us!
Elinor: you know this Hatred lady kinda sounds familiar..
Cetus: you know something about her Elli?
Elinor: From what I learned, she was just a myth at the time. A queen that lived five hundred years ago and almost had full control of the etherium. She was hell-bent on getting rid of all love in the etherium which is why she wanted to take over the etherium in the first place-
Jeremiah: wait, wait.. you're telling me this queen wanted to get rid of all love? What kinda lunatic would do that!?
Emma: almost like it's similar to trying to achieve class equality by killing rich people.
Jeremiah: yeah, I know right?
Emma, looks at him confused: oookkaay..
Elinor: but anyway, this Hatred is a big deal. Legend says she never lost a battle or war, created her own henchman, and was able to conquer multiple planets.
Cetus: Well, Hatred has clearly never met us before. We'll take her down! She'll be so easy to defeat because I mean come on, there's a ton of us and one of her. It's not like she has an army.
Elinor: She has an army.
Cetus:
Cetus: as long as we believe in ourselves we'll win!
Silver: yeah, that believing we'll take us right to the graveyard..
Valentino: I think we should let Terra's army handle it and maybe come up with a battle strategy?
Elinor: Probably. Even if we make peace with that looney bin, she'll ask for the keys to the Terran empire. Then she'll try to conquer the rest of the etherium.
Sophie: wait.. we have to fight her.
Everyone: WHAT?!
Sophie: Using an army won't be enough to take her down. If they couldn't do it in the past, then we can't make the same mistake. We have to make a plan to get rid of her by any means!
Jim: Sophie, are you sure about this?
Sophie: positive.
Elinor: Hm, maybe if we try ambushing her we can take her by surprise and get the job done! That's how they "killed" her in the past! But I'm sure we'll manage to get the job done.
Cetus: sounds like a plan! I'm in!
Andrew: me too!
Jeremiah: let's kill this tyrant!
Emma: heck yeah!
Fisch: I'll die trying if it means getting the job done!
Ollie: Hatred won't even know what hit her!
Lukas: She's going down!
Nomura: Destroying Hatred will be a walk in the park.
Lyka: Question, after we kill her can I take her jewels?
Elinor: Yes Lyka.
Lyka: LETS GO!!!!
Jim: I'll do it if Sophie's up for it!
Sophie: Honey I'm always down to kick some ass.
Valentino: um, I'll just stay here...
Silver, sighs: Alright let's go!
Elinor: I can't wait to beat someone up! It's been so long!
Silver: um.. yer not going lass.
Elinor:
Elinor: what?
Silver: I can't risk you getting hurt. We have cubs for goodness sake. You need to stay here and watch over them while we're gone. You understand lass?
Elinor: okay.. I understand.
Silver: I'm only doing this because I love you and our cubs..
Elinor:
Elinor, smiles softly: then go get em' you big softie! *Kisses Silver*
//Silver kisses her back. They others waited around awkwardly waiting for them to finish.//
Cetus, coughs fakely: kinda running on a schedule here guys.
Elinor, pulls back and awkwardly rubs the back of her neck; oh yeah right, sorry.
Silver: be safe darlin'
Elinor: and you be careful.
//And with that, the heros set off on another ship that the Terran empire owned. They sailed off.//
Silver: where exactly are we going Sophie?
Sophie: a planet called Amoretia. Its gonna be a while so we should plan our strategy on how to take down Hatred.
Silver: aye your highness!
//They sailed for the planet Amoretia. With Sophie contemplating if this was a good idea or not. Well it was too late to back out now. Time to go take down this fool...
Yet as they sailed, in an office on another planet, was a mysterious person sitting at their desk.//
???, Reading a newspaper: huh, says here old Queenie finally found a way to come back. At last, I was starting to think she'd never show up.
//Another person walked into the room, standing at the doorway.//
???: You wished to see me sir..?
???: I did. I want you too set sail for our ship. We're going to Amoretia.
???: Um, can I ask why sir?
???: Hatred is back and I taste an opportunity.
???: If you don't mind me asking, of what kind sir?
???: An opportunity to finally get all the riches I desire. As well as boost my position of power. And that hot-headed queen is going to help me get there. Wether she likes it or not.
???: Right. I'll go prepare the ship sir.
//the unknown person walks out of the room. The first unknown person placed the newspaper down on their desk.//
???: This etherium is going to become mine..
//Their snake like tongue sizzled out as their slit eyes lit up the room.//
To be continued...

Introducing the OCs! I'm putting these two here to get them acquainted with a larger pool of Treasure Planet fans and creatives who have all made their own OCs. Charlotte Ko was actually made by Firefall Bangenthump, but he doesn't have a Tumblr. Over the years, the two of us worked together so often that most of our worls are collars or overlap.
Charlotte Ko was born into a poor, working-class family on the backwater world of Colport. Her father fell into alcohol and abuse after the shipyard where he worked was closed and, with only a neglectful mother at home, Ko grew up looking after herself on the rough streets of the city. Aged 16, seeking an escape, she stowed away in a pallet of cargo on the docks, neither knowing nor caring the destination. She found herself aboard the Royal Light Ship Diamond, where she was swiftly discovered.
Fortunately for her, the ship was on an urgent mission that prevented it turning back to return her to Colport, and she was unofficially 'adopted' by the Royal Marine contingent aboard, earning her keep doing chores and odd jobs. Put ashore at the Diamond's next port of call and having discovered a yearning for the only structured and supportive life she had known, she sought to enlist. The Third Procyon War was raging and Imperial recruitment officers were willing to turn a blind eye to her age, and in time she passed out as a private in the Royal Marines.
She was assigned to the frigate Wolverine in time for that ship's deployment as part of the task force supporting the ill-fated Badlanding campaign, and was detached to the Naval Brigade that was assembled to assist the struggling Imperial ground forces. She got her first experience of combat in the trenches during the heat of summer and the bitter chill of winter, and proved herself a capable soldier. She was assigned as a bodyguard to Surgeon-Lieutenant Gray after the Procyons began systematically targeting Imperial field medics, and the two stayed together for the remainder of the disastrous campaign, forging a deeper bond than either fully appreciated at the time. During the retreat, Ko sustained the near-fatal facial injury that gave her a characteristic scar.
She and Gray were separated after the campaign, but were reunited during the Nebula War and remained together for the rest of their lives. Ko served under both Captain Arrow and Amelia during the war, earning a promotion to sergeant. Some years later, Ko sustained serious spinal injuries in a shipboard accident and was nursed back to health by Gray, though the effects of the damage plagued her for the rest of her life and ultimately forced her first to shore-based training duties and then into retirement. In retirement, she discovered an unexpected talent for organisation and led a campaign for official recognition of the Badlanding campaign.
Dr. Eleanor Gray is, however, my creation.
Born deaf, Eleanor was never expected to rise to greatness. Her politically-minded parents refused to acknowledge the embarrassment of having a "defective" child. Her only solace was the family library and her older brother, Victor. He was the only one of her family to have cared enough to teach both Eleanor and himself Imperial sign language (something that she has only ever shared with one other person since). She followed in his footsteps into the Navy (though choosing a medical route instead), but her world came crashing down around her when he died during a mutiny. While the newly-invented electronic hearing aids allowed her to be part of a world she never before knew, she closed herself off from those around her and continued her studies.
She found herself, however, during the failed military campaign at Badlanding. Injured in one of her first battles, she was forced to perform surgery on herself to survive. However, she was not content to remain behind the at the base. When she had reasonably recovered, she insisted on returning to the front lines at the next available opporunity. It was here that she met Charlotte Ko, who was assigned to protect the doctor after Procyons began targetting medical personnel. An unbreakable bond was formed between the two. For the first time since Victor's death, Eleanor did not feel alone.
While the two were separated for some time due to the evacuation, they met once again shortly after the onset of the Nebula War. The pair have been nearly inseparable since their reunion as they have come to an... understanding. After an initially prickly interaction with Amelia, she and Dr. Gray earned each other's respect, forming a close friendship lasting for the rest of their careers. Between voyages, Gray worked shifts at the base hospital on Crescentia. Initially reluctant to retire from ship-duty as she much prefers to work where she feels she is most needed, she eventually relented in order to become the hospital's director.
Stories about them and the version of the Treasure Planet universe they belong to can be found in my sideblog Sector Crescentia.

A Different Sort of Rage
“Why does tragedy exist? Because you are full of rage. Why are you full of rage? Because you are full of grief.“ – Anne Carson
OR
Toby grieves Claire. He also helps to save the world, again.
You know, at least once while writing this, I asked myself why I’d even bother. Claire doesn’t affect 3Below Season 2 at all, so why would that change because she’s dead? Well, Toby deserved better.
That’s right, almost a year later, the 3Below Interlude to Juliet Dies in This has been completed! That being said, you don’t need to have read Juliet Dies in This to understand this story; you just need to know it’s an au where Claire didn’t make it out of the Shadow Realm during the Eternal Night.
If you did read Juliet Dies in This, then this takes place between chapters 3 and 4.
Trigger/spoiler warning: there is drowning, mild body horror, and talk of suicide in this fic.
AO3
FFN
Toby clung to a set of wooden planks with one arm; the other was wrapped around Jim’s unconscious body. Saltwater slammed against his lower body, cold and angry. On the other side of the planks was Claire and a heavy anchor connected to a length of chain. With each moment that passed, the planks splintered just a bit more. Too much longer, and there wouldn’t be enough wood to hold on to.
“Can you keep the planks steady for me?” Claire asked. “Then I can shove the anchor into the ocean, and we won’t have to worry about it.”
“Be careful,” Toby said, adjusting his grip on the planks and Jim. Claire hoisted her entire body onto the planks. With a grunt she lifted the anchor and began to scoot it to the ocean.
She was about to drop it when the chain glowed gold and wrapped around her.
Toby didn’t let go of Jim, who would surely drown with no one holding onto him.
Toby didn’t let go of the planks, because he wasn’t a strong swimmer even without a friend to hold on to.
Toby didn’t grab Claire. Instead, he watched in horror as she fell into the cold ocean, her hair indistinguishable with the blackness that she was pulled into.
And then Toby woke up. It had been a while since he last had nightmares about drowning and sinking boats. He had had one or two back when Jim had been in the Darklands. Most of this species of nightmare had occurred before he started puberty but had been old enough to really understand just what had happened to his parents.
“Wingman okay?” AAARRGGHH!!! asked.
“Yeah,” Toby said. “It was just a dream.” He glanced at his clock. 12:51 am. He loved having a semi-normal sleep schedule again, but with most of his friends being nocturnal phone calls weren’t always easy. Oh, well. He was awake anyways; may as well call Jim and Claire.
Wait.
Claire didn’t go to Jim and Blinky to find a Heartstone in New Jersey. Claire had disappeared into a black void and Toby had been the one to lock her in.
So that was why he had that dream.
Toby put a reminder on his phone to look into what mental health options his nana’s health insurance had and then went back to sleep. Or at least, he tried to.
Sunshine streamed through the stained-glass windows of the Catholic church that Claire’s funeral was held in, which meant that even if trolls were allowed to go, they couldn’t have. Claire had family outside Arcadia, and to them she had died because she got trapped under rubble in the freak earthquake-and-tornado that had occurred.  To them, Claire was inside the coffin, though badly mutilated by rocks that had slammed into her.
Her body was probably mutilated by Morgana, come to think of it.
Toby tugged at his tie. This felt so stupid. Claire was a hero, and her extended family wasn’t allowed to know. He understood, though. They didn’t want to get anyone from the government involved, at least, the non-local government, since obviously Claire’s mom and thus the rest of the city council involved. The trolls were weakened, and Toby didn’t know if they were bulletproof.
It was probably for the best that trolls weren’t allowed to attend the funeral, but that didn’t mean that Toby wasn’t angry with the situation. AAARRRGGGHHH!!! had been Claire’s friend, too. He should be here. Besides, he hadn’t been the one responsible for this mess.
The unsettling calm in the week-and-a-half since the Eternal Night had given Toby a lot to think about. Specifically, how everything had gone wrong.
He should have smacked Morgana into the Shadow Realm with his warhammer and then destroyed the staff. He should’ve been smarter. He had been fighting alongside Claire for months; surely, they could’ve come up with something so that she would be either in Arcadia or on the road to New Jersey.
There was one thing about this funeral that wasn’t a farce: Claire was dead. Toby didn’t think Morgana would be interested in keeping Claire alive. After Merlin cleared away the Eternal Night, Jim had proposed going to Trollmarket to see if there was anything in Blinky’s library to see if it could help them save Claire. Blinky had told them that he had had one book on constructing magic items, but it was among the first of Dictatious’s books he had burned. Strickler, for all the dark magical knowledge he had from the Book of Ga-Huel, had nothing on making a new Shadow Staff. Probably to keep the changelings from rebelling against their Lady Creator, the former history teacher had mused.
To Toby’s right, Darci and Mary and their families stood for a prayer. Toby’s eyes traveled upwards to the rafters. One troll, or rather, changeling, had made it despite the odds. NotEnrique would probably deny the fact that he had been crying later.
“Dude, you sent me a thousand texts, what is your data plan?” Toby asked as he crawled through Eli’s window. It was easier than he had expected, despite his gym pass not feeling as intense of a work-out as fighting trolls and sparring Jim and – sparring in the forge. That was, that was pretty good, actually, he wouldn’t be the reason for anyone else getting hurt or worse if he tried to keep getting stronger.
“Some of them might’ve been queued up,” Eli said, shrugging as he held up a flashlight under his chin. “I… this is important, but I thought I could’ve gathered more evidence and, well…” Eli frowned and dropped the self-important tone. “I wanted to give you some time, since the funeral was a couple days ago.”
The light returned to Eli’s eyes, or maybe it was just the flashlight glinting off his glasses. His voice once more took on an air of self-importance. “Now, Tobes, are you ready for me to rock. Your. World?”
Toby glanced over at his girlfriend and Mary, who was complaining about boredom. Toby’s hands curled into fists. They had been friends with Claire for longer than he had been, how could they be so, so normal?
“TP, come here! I wanna talk to you about something!” Steve called from where he was leaning against Aja and Krel’s house.
“Don’t call me that.”
“I mean, it means vaguely the same thing as buttsnack but nicer?” Steve said as Toby made his way over to the house.
Toby rolled his eyes. Well, at least one person realized why he hadn’t wanted that nickname. If only Claire had realized that, before she, before she, before she had spread it around the school.
Toby blinked several times, trying to get the stinging sensation out of his eyes. “What do you want?”
“Dude, relax,” Steve said quietly enough as to not let Mary and Darci hear from their spot by the pool.
“Relax? Relax?” he whisper-shouted. “How am I supposed to relax when we’re in the middle of a war that will decide the fate of not only Earth, like the one with Gunmar and Morgana, but also Aja and Krel’s planet too? I relax, people die. If I’m not alert, someone else has to take the hit for me. If I don’t pay enough attention, then I’m the one responsible for trapping someone in an alternate dimension!”
Steve just looked at Toby for what felt like five insufferably long minutes.
“Stop freaking out,” Steve said, pinching his brow. “Or else you’ll be so high strung that you’ll end up swinging your oversized mallet at the wrong thing.”
“Warhammer,” Toby corrected, even though Steve did have a point.
Toby’s therapist said that it was important to have hobbies. Between trollhunting and school, Toby was used to having to be constantly alert and vigilant, and that may have been helping to contribute to his restless mind. Granted, Toby hadn’t told his therapist about the ruthless Akiridion dictator trying to attack Earth because that probably fell into the “I will alert the authorities if you’re going to harm yourself or others” clause in the doctor-patient confidentiality forms he and his nana had signed. However, filmmaking was both a good way to bond with his friends as well as maybe destress.
Pretending that he was only interested in making a short film made him seem vapid, like less of a threat. He didn’t trust these military goons, but he also knew they probably underestimated him. What could a short, fat kid with a warhammer possibly do to them?
Rule One of Trollhunting was to always be afraid, with the caveat of goblins. If Area 49-B was unafraid of Toby, then they’d underestimate him.
Besides, these people wanted to capture all sorts of extraterrestrials. Who knew what they’d do to trolls?
Toby still didn’t know if trolls were bulletproof or not. He got the feeling they wouldn’t be laser-proof.
Angor Rot hadn’t been laser-proof, if that’s what Morgana’s magic had been.
Angor had been their enemy, but he had saved them, too.
Tronos had been their enemy, but he had just saved the entire world.
“Get in my phone!” Toby yelled at the armored extraterrestrial as the Area 49-B goons approached, clearly interested in his warhammer. It reminded him a little of the robbers who had kidnapped them.
“What?”
“You did it before! I’m not letting anyone else die.”
Toby and Tronos barely escaped with the others.
“Okay, so, just so that we're clear, by ‘Earthly forces’, you mean me, Eli, Steve…” Toby said, covering his mouth to hide the sound from Darci. He didn’t want to worry her.
“And the brute,” Zadra said. “Yes.”
“Technically, AAARRRGGHH!!!’s a troll.”
“I'm not confident about your chances, but these are desperate times.”
“Well, not even the word ‘hopeless’ is void of hope, I guess,” Toby said.
“What?”
“Trollish saying. I, we’ll do our best.” The call ended; Toby turned to his girlfriend. “Hey, babe, you seem like you got this stapling thing down pat.”
Darci crossed her arms, suspicion in her eyes. “Toby, what’s going on?”
“It’s… a long story.”
“Then start talking.”
Toby looked away from his girlfriend.
“Is it more troll stuff?” she asked.
“No…”
“Then what’s. Going. On?” Darci grabbed his hand. “Toby, I’ve been to enough funerals this year. I don’t want to go to any more of them, and I really don’t want to have to go to another funeral angry that the person I cared about lied to me about the supernatural battles they were fighting. Not when I could’ve maybe helped.”
Toby sighed. “Okay, to make a long story short, there is life on other planets, including a planet called Akiridion-V. That’s Aja and Krel’s home, but it was taken over.” Toby tugged his hand away from Darci’s, giving her an apologetic look. He grabbed his warhammer and expanded it. “And the guy who took it over is going to attack their house so I really gotta go make sure they’re safe so bye I promise I’ll tell you more later!”
Between all the other problems of his life, having a creative outlet was a great way to destress. Usually. Theoretically. Considering that Chompsky broke character on every take, this was really just another source of stress.
His film wasn’t as important as the Akiridions in orange pods.
“Are those your parents?” he asked Aja and Krel. “Do you want me to help?”
“No, we’ve got it!” Krel shouted, waving him off as he, Aja, Varvatos, and Stuart set up the daxial array.
“What are you doing?” Aja asked.
“Well, while I was holding down the fort, I thought I’d finish my director’s cut.” Toby scowled. “But then Chompsky started acting out.”
There was chattering that only one who had lived with a gnome for months would understand. He was almost surprised that Bagdwella never learned how.
“No, I can’t make you taller in post!” Toby had a realization as he walked away from the gnome. “Wait, does this mean you’re going home soon? Back to Akiridion-V?”
“Of course,” Krel said with a glance towards his parents. “That was always the plan.”
Right. The plan. Aja and Krel were going to leave him. They had more important things to do than live a life in Arcadia Oaks. They were royalty from another planet.
“But wait, not yet!” Toby protested. He wanted more time with his new friends, and maybe he had just the thing to get them to stay. “I’ve got good news! Captain Kleb is going to premiere before Gun Robot 7 at the local drive-in!”
“That’s amazing,” Krel said, sounding surprised. He gave an almost incredulous chuckle. “All our friends are going to be there!”
Not all of Toby’s friends, but a good portion of them.
“Yeah,” Toby said, less enthusiastic than he was a moment before. “We’ll be local celebrities.”
Maybe they city would dedicate a nice park bench to him, for all his combined work as a filmmaker, trollhunter, and crook-catcher. He didn’t deserve an entire street, even though Domzalski Drive had a nice ring to it. Besides, Jim Lake Lane and Claire Court sounded better, more fitting.
“Your moving picture party will be the perfect way to celebrate after we stop Morando,” Aja said, breaking Toby out of the beginnings of yet another depressive spiral.
Toby turned to Aja, Krel, AAARRRGGHH!!!, and Varvatos. Sure, the crystal staircase didn’t light up with each step, but they were about to see the most incredible place ever! It deserved every bit of gravitas that he, Jim, and Claire had been given. “Welcome,” he said in his best impression of Jim and Blinky, “to Heartstone Trollmarket!”
Toby gasped.
“This is ‘the most incredible place ever?’” Krel said.
“Was,” Toby sighed, “before the Eternal Night.”
It was probably a good thing, that Blinky and Jim went to New Jersey so they wouldn’t have to see it. That Claire, Draal, and Vendel would never have to see it. The darkened, broken heartstone and the rubble-strewn streets were horrible to see; this was a place that Toby had considered to be practically a second home. He could only imagine just how terrible his Wingman must have felt at the sight of it.
“I know what it’s like, to lose one’s home,” Aja said as they passed by Bagdwella’s old shop. She was better at comforting AAARRGGHH!!! than Toby himself was. Probably Krel and Varvatos, too. They had left behind their homeplanet, and their house was gone, too.
“Your friends, Jim, Blinky, and the trolls are safe, and that’s what matters the most,” Krel said. Toby was about to thank him for the reassurance – he had gotten good at dealing with human feelings – when rocks collapsed.
Varvatos was right. There was definitely an aura of death and decay. Stupid Morgana, ruining everything.
“That looks… deep.” Varvatos said.
“How do we get down there?” Aja asked.
“We don’t!” Toby said. Memories of watching Jim’s cage fall filled his mind. “If you go down there then you face your deepest fear!”
“Why would anyone want to do that?” Krel asked. The light from the Soothscryer came back up again insistently.
“It’s a long story,” Toby said as the light spiraled downwards once more. “Jim made it out alive, and unfortunately, he’s the only one who has.”
“We don’t have much choice,” Aja said. “We have to find Gaylen’s core before Morando.”
Krel held two of his arms in front of his sister. “I’ll go!”
“No, if we have to fight then it’s better to have safety in numbers. We’re stronger together,” Toby said.
“But you and Varvatos need to fight whatever’s coming,” Krel said as Aja pulled out her hoverboard.
“We will,” AAARRRGGHH!!! said. He raised his voice to a slightly higher pitch. “So, fight!” he imitated, before lowering his voice. “Make proud, Wingman.”
“Will do.” Toby pulled out his warhammer and followed the Tarron siblings down into the Deep.
Unfortunately, Toby followed them straight into a stony wall.
Toby stood on a dock, watching a cruise ship sail away. His nana waved good-bye to him, along with two relatively young adults. They were familiar, just like the ship was. They were familiar from blurry memories and from morbid curiosity because at age twelve, Toby wanted to know just how his parents died.
“Don’t go,” Toby pleaded softly, but he knew it was no use. He looked over his shoulder and caught Jim’s eyes.
“Well, bye, then,” Jim said flippantly. He began to walk away, and Toby realized that so did all the other trolls. Darci, and Dr. Lake, and pretty much everyone Toby knew walked with them.
Toby tried to catch up, but each step was a herculean effort. Eventually, everyone passed beyond the horizon. It started to rain, and Toby realized that he had managed to find his way to the bridge where everything always went down.
A dark sliver appeared in the thin air in front of him. It widened, and Claire stepped out of it. Except “stepped” wasn’t quite the write word, not with how her limbs and neck bent at all the wrong angles. Golden manacles with small lengths of broken-off chains were attached to her wrists and ankles. A noose connected her neck to the Shadow Realm, and when the portal closed Claire collapsed, almost like a puppet whose strings were cut. She caught herself at the last second, dust swirling off the bridge to reform the Shadow Staff in her hand. She stretched each of her limbs as they popped into place with the sound of crunching bones and scraping metal. She then rolled her neck, the noose catching on one of the spikes of her helmet. It didn’t seem to bother her, but it added a gruesome effect.
Claire’s brown eyes opened, going from blank to full of hatred in the span of an instant. “You,” she said. Her voice echoed above the sound of rain and distant thunder. “You let me die!”
She lunged for him, and Toby found that the sluggishness to his limbs was gone as he jumped out of the way.
“You killed me!” she screamed, disappearing through a portal. She came out from almost directly above him, staff pointed to skewer him.
Toby caught it with his warhammer, sending it away from himself. “You, you told me to. You told me to break the staff,” Toby said.
Claire attempted to stab him in the back. “And you didn’t think to wait, did you? You didn’t think that maybe you should have waited for Blinky to have saved me?”
“There was no time, and you know this.” Toby knocked the Shadow Staff out of her hands. It crumbled into ash. “It’s not my fault that you didn’t think of any other way to end Morgana. It’s… it’s not my fault that you’re dead!”
The rain stopped, and the clouds started to part. As Claire looked up to the sky, Toby realized that he was crying.
The sun was eclipsed by the moon and then by even darker clouds. Claire closed her eyes as it began to rain again, this time even harder than before.
“You want to know what’s the best part of being dead?” she asked in an eerily soft voice.
She opened her eyes. They were purple and black. “I don’t have to look at your stupid fucking face anymore.”
Claire lunged for him, knocking his warhammer out of his hands. She pinned him down with one hand. “No one wants to have to look at it. And I’m going to be the fucking martyr that makes sure no one will ever have to again.”
And then she began to punch his face, the edges of her clawed armor piercing him. With each punch more cracks began to grow on her face and hand, but Claire didn’t seem to notice them. She didn’t look like she was in pain like the last time she had grown those cracks. If anything, the lightning glinting in her eyes made her look sadistic.
And then Toby woke up.
“I did it,” Krel said, overjoyed. “I did it!”
“I’m proud of you, little brother,” Aja said, rubbing at her arms. She sounded spooked. “Congratulations, you probably beat me by half a mecron. What… what did you see?”
“Morando destroying Arcadia Oaks and everyone in it, which he’ll do if he gets Gaylen’s core,” Krel said with a slight frown. “And you?”
“The same, but with Akiridion-V,” Aja said. The two of them turned to Toby.
They were going to have to leave anyways; they didn’t need to know that Toby’s worst fear was a combination of Claire hating him in her dying moments and everyone he cared about leaving him.
“Oh, well…” Toby gave a slight chuckle, and hoped that they’d believe the fat stigma. “Dieting.”
They had no time to question his lie because Varvatos and AAARRRGGHH!!! came crashing in.
“Purple. Pretty,” AAARRRGGHH!!! said, gazing at the altar to Gaylen’s core.
“Claire would have loved to have seen this,” Toby sighed, and then startled with a realization. “Kanjigar, do you know if Draal and Claire are, you know, resting in peace?”
Unfortunately, the previous Trollhunter had gone back to the void.
Toby supposed it didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, not with Aja and Krel being shot down. Still, closure that his friends were okay in the end would have been nice.
“Where’s Krel and Varvatos?” Toby asked as he dismantled yet another OMEN. “Would be nice to get a little more help.”
“Krel’s working on getting us some reinforcements,” Aja said, “and Varvatos is protecting my parents and Stuart. I trust him enough to not try to power the canon with my parents’ cores twice.”
“Wait, why would he do that? He’s not evil enough to power things up using unwilling people!”
“I thought that too, but since two royal cores are needed it’ll be Krel and I and not my parents.”
“No.” Toby brought his warhammer down enough that deep cracks were left in the concrete where the OMEN once stood. “Aja, you can’t. That’s suicide.”
“It’s not suicide, Toby. It’s sacrifice. Of all people, I thought you understood that.”
“Oh, trust me. I understand that. I also understand that those two look really similar sometimes. Aja, promise me that I won’t have to attend any more of my friend’s funerals this summer.”
“I can’t, but that’s why Krel’s working on reinforcements. I don’t want to do this, but I will if that’s what it takes.”
Toby would have argued had an OMEN not thrown a truck at a random kid. There had to be another way, one that wasn’t trying to fight a losing battle. One where all his friends made it out.
“He’s too strong,” Toby said. “He’s stronger than…”
No.
Morando was not stronger than Morgana. He couldn’t let himself believe that. They were all going to live, and no one was going to sacrifice their life for the good of everyone else, even if they were on the very same bridge where Angor and Claire died.
And Toby had legitimate hope when Zadra and various ships from Akiridion-V came through the wormhole.
Except they weren’t enough. Morando grew red wing-like appendages and created a massive explosion of red light.
“Morando is too powerful,” Krel said.
As the Tarron siblings hugged each other for what shouldn’t be the last time, Toby tried to think of another way to kill Morando.
“Go back to town,” Aja said. “Make sure everyone’s safe! And… I’m sorry, Toby. There’s a reason why I didn’t promise.”
“On it!” Steve said. “Please don’t get stepped on!”
“You too, my Palchuk!” Toby couldn’t tell if it was cruel or not for Aja not to say goodbye.
There had to be a third option.
“What are you waiting for, give me a ride!” Steve shouted. Toby fired up his warhammer.
Morando was at least as strong as Morgana. Maybe he was stronger. Two people would die. Someone’s hand would get cut off by a –
There was another way.
Toby set Steve down and began to fly off in the opposite direction.
“Where are you going, buttsnack?” Steve shouted.
“To save your girlfriend’s life!” Toby began searching through his phone to find the number for Akiridion-V. They could try to open a portal from within Morando’s body, and hopefully Akiridion anatomy was such that it would kill him.
It was probably a good idea that Toby had used his warhammer instead of the Shadow Staff. Too gruesome.
He was on the second ring when he watched Aja and Krel fire the canon.
He felt relief, and then guilt.
It was over.
Toby didn’t know what to say. Aja, Krel, and everyone else from Akiridion-V were leaving. So were the Foo-Foos and Eli.
“Do you have to leave?” It was selfish. Of course they had to leave. Toby closed his eyes and tried to drown out Deep-illusion-Claire’s words. They weren’t leaving because of him; Aja and Krel had to go and rule an entire planet.
“Thanks for keeping that promise about me not going to your funeral”? Too selfish. It put the focus too much on him.
“Being an orphan isn’t so bad, just look how I turned out”? Too insensitive, considering that he could barely remember his parents.
“Sorry about your parents, but I’m glad they’re dead instead of you”? That wouldn’t stop the guilt.
Except, Krel was staying.
Toby would figure out something comforting to say, eventually.
The world was going to end. Again. And this time, Toby’s new allies were a talking, bipedal cat and a pair of teenagers who were currently going through their emo phase. Said emo teens were about a year older than Toby, and supposedly they were wizards, but honestly? Aja and Krel seemed more competent than these two.
At the very least, Aja and Krel were better at lying. The minute after the cat had called them out on “experimenting unsupervised”, Zoe had started rambling about college apps, which had segwayed into summer homework, which somehow turned into how she and Douxie could make non-exploding potions without Archie’s supervision.
It was a little creepy, just how exasperated the cat looked.
Douxie stared at Toby quizzically before interrupting his friend’s rambling. “Your friend – the possessed one. Is she okay?”
A cold sort of rage crept into Toby’s bones, and with it, came the desire to scream at Douxie for having noticed that Claire wasn’t okay, and not having really done anything. Storm out of the apartment, telling Steve to tell Toby anything important, but refuse to work with the wizards.
But Claire made her decision. There was nothing that Toby could’ve done to change that, much less a guy who went to their rival school.
So instead of yelling, Toby took a breath, and said coldly, “Let’s just say that Claire’s at peace now.”

New headcanon for Lyka: she actually needs glasses.
Lyka didn’t know she needed glasses until it was brought to her attention that every time she reads something written down, she brings it really close to her face to read it. Or when she’s looking at something from far away, she squints her eyes before moving closer to it to properly see it. So, this makes her near sighted.
———
Cetus: Alright, anak, can you read this?
Lyka: It’s blurry as shit, tatay!
———
@aalbliii I finally drew the idea for Lyka needing glasses! 🐙🧜🏻‍♀️

Bow Down
//In the Amoretian castle, Hatred had been sitting upon her throne for the past few minutes. She had her spellbook on her lap and turned various pages, trying to find a certain spell. Her face contorted more anger as she turned another page.//
Hatred: DAMNIT! *Closes the book loudly and tosses it to the side* This stupid book has no resurrection spells! No one in my bloodline ever thought about creating one???
Veronica: I'm surprised too. Could've guessed your great great something grandad would've made a spell to bring back his wife or something.
Hatred, ignoring what Veronica said: how will I ever bring him back..?
Veronica: mind if I ask-
Hatred: Carrion. My dragon.
Veronica: oh! It was like you already knew what I was gonna say.
Hatred: it was very predictable... Carrion was one of the most loyal and powerful beings I ever came across. He destroyed armies with just a single blow from his tail. Destroyed villages and castles from his acidic fire breath... He even ate my horrid ex-lover. I took that as a sign that Carrion truly cared for me. Truly a fine companion.
Veronica, clearly jealous: I mean, yeah I guess.. *crosses her arms* I mean why do you even need him?? You already have your staff..
Hatred: Yes, but I can do some much more damage to those dirt mongerers who locked me up...
Veronica: oh well-
Hatred, gets up from her throne: but I don't have Carrion any more because- *picks up her throne and proceeds to throw it across the room. Causing the throne to be destroyed.* THEY TOOK HIM FROM ME! THOSE STUPID, PATHETIC TERRANS AMBUSHED ME AND KILLED HIM! THEY KILLED HIM!
Veronica, a little scared: um, uh, hey! Maybe we can uhh... *thinks for a moment before snapping her fingers* I'VE GOT IT! Force a witch or wizard to make them use their resurrection spell to bring back Carrion??
Hatred: I doubt we'd even find one.
Veronica: huh? Why?
Hatred: I killed a majority of magic users and the rest went into hiding a long time ago.
Veronica: what?? Why?
Hatred: I couldn't risk anyone use their magic against me. Especially when I heard a rumour that the Terran empire were starting to ask around for help from magic users. So, I had to get rid of them.
Veronica: Oh... Then what are we going to do?
Hatred: I don't know... I don't even think I'll be able to get him again.
Veronica: Hey, cheer up now your majesty! At least you have me! I'm just as powerful as Carrion! We'll send those Terrans back to tomorrow!
Hatred:
Hatred: I should've just stayed in the well...
???: May I be of assistance?
//Hatred perked up her head at the sound of the mysterious voice. She clutched her staff as she turned around. At the doorway of the throne room, stood the a snake like man. Along side him was a cephalopid in uniform.//
Hatred: who are you? And what the hell are you doing in my castle??
???: Relax your majesty, I'm only here to congratulate you on your return.. *bows*
Hatred, sceptically: why so..?
???, Chuckles: well, I've always believed in your beliefs. How love is a disease that plagues man to commit atrocities. While hate is a natural feeling that people have used to survive.
//It was obvious he was lying. Unfortunately, something Hatred and Veronica didn't realized.//
Hatred: Hm. Smart man. You seem to be reasonable unlike all these ignorant, ungrateful Amoretians I have to rule over. The first thing I saw when I arrived was an "ambassador". I scared the color out of her fur when she first saw me. Didn't even bother to congratulate on my return.
???: How horrible I must say. For someone as brilliant as you to be treated such a way.
Hatred: Yes, indeed. Tell me, what is your name?
???: Lucian. Lucian bekejej. And this is Lusca, my guard. I couldn't help but overhear what you were talking about earlier with your... *Looks over to Veronica* Friend.
Hatred: She's not my friend. She's my henchman. I command her to do all of my torturing to traitors and vile people, who wish to stop my progress in helping this etherium from pain and suffering.
Lusca, has a terrified expression on his face: she sure does seem to be right for the job..
Veronica, waving flirtatiously at Lucian: heeeeeyyy~
Lucian, a little disgusted: uhh... Anyway, perhaps I can help with your situation.
//Hatred perked up at the sound of his proposal.//
Hatred: What do you mean?
Lucian: Well, seems that you're rather attached to your dragon. I may know a way to bring him back with a bit of use from my... Help. But! I'll need something in exchange.
Hatred: What do you want in return..?
Lucian: Half of the etherium. I know your plan is to take down the Terran empire as well as other empires. You seem very fruitful in your journey.
//Hatred thought about his offering a bit. If he knew how to bring back Carrion, then she'd certainly get her revenge against the Terrans. Although she's still skeptical of his abilities. If he was lying to her, she would certainly send him and his pal to the torture chamber.//
Hatred: Very well then. Follow me. He died outside the kingdom. I do hope his corpse is still there... *Begins to walk towards another doorway*
//Lucian, Lusca, and Veronica follow alongside her. The group walked up to an elevator door. They could've taken the stairs but they were incredibly long. It would take a month to just reach the bottom.//
Hatred: Veronica, pull the lever.
Veronica, nods: righto! *Pulls the other lever*
//Hatred immediately falls through the floor when the lever was pulled.//
Hatred: WRONG LEEEEEVER!!!!!
//Lucian looked a little confused at what he had just witnessed. Lusca on the other hand had to hold back a chuckle. The three turned their heads to see Hatred entering the room once more. But this time, wet and with a crocodile biting the bottom of her dress.//
Hatred: WHY DO WE EVEN HAVE THAT LEVER?!?
//Veronica simply shrugged, not knowing the reason either. Hatred kicks the crocodile away. The crocodile crawled away, whimpering like a lost puppy. Hatred gripped her staff. She whispered a small incantation. Her staff glowed lightly, causing a spell to happen. Herself and her dress became dry with the water simply disappearing into thin air.//
Lusca: whoa..
Lucian: how impressive.
Hatred: Let us go. I have no patience to be gawked at.
//Hatred pulls the correct lever. She didn't want to fall down again if her idiotic henchman pulled the same one again. The doors to the elevator opened up. All four of them walked into the elevator. The doors closed, leading them down.//
Hatred: Veronica, please inform my assistant that I'll be leaving to the Westen Woods. I don't want anyone trying to invade my castle again.
Veronica: Righto!
//Back with the familial crew, they were just about to arrive to Amoretia. In the cabins, the others were preparing as well. By loading their guns, sharpening their swords, and a few of them going over the plan again.//
Sophie, cleaning her gun: hmm..
Jim: you okay Sophie?
Sophie: huh? Yeah I'm okay..
Jim: Come on, there's something in your mind. I know that look.
Sophie, sighs: I guess I'm just feeling overwhelmed still. First I find out I'm a queen and next I gotta kill some other queen.. I've never killed anyone before Jim. It feels is tiring I guess..
Jim: I've never killed anyone before either. Well, at least not on purpose... But hey, if you feel like you can do it, I'll handle it of you'd like.
Sophie: That's okay, I can handle it. I've gotta avenge my aunt.. by killing that son of a bitch
//As they finished up preparing themselves, the ship landed at the docking areas of Amoretia. Each of them getting off one by one. They walked onto the pavement, absorbing the view of the kingdom around them.
Amoretia had glistening towers of white marble. The streets looks to be made of diamonds as they sparked. Houses and shops lined up against each other, creating a lovely symmetry of sorts. And in the far distance, there was a castle on top of a mountain. Yet, despite looking ever so gorgeous... No one appeared to be outside. It looked like a ghost town.//
Jim: Hello?
//His voice echoed softly through the kingdom. Yet, no one came out.//
Jim: you think they left..?
Silver: impossible. Who would ever want to leave a place like this??
Ollie: I don't know, I think they'd happily leave if they knew a deranged tyrant came back to rule over it again.
Jim: Makes sense-
//Jim was cut off at the sound of footsteps. A woman wearing a white robe like dress, ran by them. Seemingly, in a hurry.//
Cetus: Wait! HEY!
//The woman turned around to catch a glimpse to the strangers. Their eyes widened in horror, causing them to run much faster. Deciding to follow her, the crew ran after her. It was quite the chase as the woman made constant turns, possibly trying to avoid them or she maybe forgot where she was supposed to go. The woman ran into a town hall. Slamming the door shut right behind her. Luckily, Sophie noticed where she went.//
Sophie: She went in there! Maybe that's where everyone else is..?
Jim, shrugged: I guess.
//The crew walked towards the town hall. Cetus grabbed the handle and slowly opened the door. Inside was what seemed like all the Amoretian civilians inside. They all were dressed incredibly elegantly. Like they were supposed to be attending a ball or a met gala. For such a tiny building, it could hold hundreds of people inside. The Amoretians were frantically chattering to each other. Some having mental breakdowns. Whilst others in the front of the building were trying to get, what appeared to be the person in charge, their attention.//
???: Alright, alright! Settle down now!
//Amoretians calmed down as they paid attention to the person in charge. The crew not being noticed yet, decided to listen in//
???: Now as you may heard, Hatred is unfortunately not dead and has taken the throne again... By killing tons of people again. Rest in peace to them.
//A few cries were heard from the audience. Already experiencing lost and misery now that Hatred had returned. Cetus felt pity for them.//
???: BUT! We can get through this together! Now, any questions..? *points to someone* yes you?
Amoretian #1: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO???
Amoretian #2: WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!
Amoretian #3: AMORETIA IS GOING TO BE PLUNGED INTO THE DARK AGES AGAIN!
//More panic ensued as Amoretians began to scream in fear. The person in charge let out a loud sigh and face palmed. One Amoretian turned around, seeing the crew.//
Amoretian #4: LOOK! TERRANS!
//Like a domino effect, the other Amoretians turned their heads around. A majority of them proceeded to look at the crew with sneers and disgusted looks on their faces. The crew slowly walked up to the front of the building. As they did, the Amoretians whispered amongst themselves. Whispering things like "what are they doing here..?" "how horrible..", & "filthy dirt mongerers.."//
Cetus: I'm guessing we're not welcomed here..
Andrew, sarcastically: ya' think..?
//As they made it to the front. The tiny woman in charge, stood up on the chair they were sitting on. They looked like a red panda.. but with actually red fur. She was wearing a white uniform with pink and red patterns. The person in charge took one look at the adults in the front.//
???: Are you lost?
Silver: Uh, no we be not. We actually came here to kill Hatred! Have any idea where she may be?
//More whispering uproared with the Amoretians. Even a few chuckles and scoffs were heard. Sophie took a glance at them. Not knowing whether if she wanted to punch these people or tell them off... Her hand balled up into a fist. Jim grabbed her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. From that, Sophie slowly let herself relax. Her balled up hand slowly went back to normal. She looked at Jim and have him a soft smile. Jim returning a smile to her as well.//
???: You want to defeat... Hatred?
Silver: that's right!
???:
???: Do you really think we're stupid enough to let Terrans of all people handle this job for us..? Do you think we're incapable of doing it ourselves?
Silver: No, no, that's not what I mean-
???: Oh please.. Terrans are all the same. Always thinking Amoretians are sensitive idiots that would rather go wine tasting than fight wars... How typical. Now... Would you please leave? I don't want to-
//Two Amoretians point their swords at Silver and the crew.//
???: Cause more displeasure for Amoretians.
Sophie, getting in front of Silver: Wait! You can't do this!
//The red panada turned her attention to Sophie. Suddenly, her eyes softened.//
Sophie: I came here to stop Hatred with my family. She turned my aunt to stone, I have to do this..
???: Wait... Queen Illysa is your aunt... Then that makes you- Terra's queen...
//The Amoretians froze in shock. Completely astonished at the statement. The new terran queen is so young... Yet, she looked so familiar to one of their past queens. In height and in age.. The last time Amoretia had a young queen in charge, it didn't go so well.//
Sophie: Yes, I am. Now would you please-
???, Snaps her fingers: lower your weapons.
//The guards backed up from the crew and put away their swords.//
???: I apologise for what I said earlier... Anyway, Welcome to Amoretia! My name's Antonella Ksenia Rousseau! Amoretia's Ambassador. It's a pleasure to meet you, your majesty *bows*
Cetus, whispering to Andrew: wow what a quick change of attitude..
Sophie, not getting used to being bowed to: oh, uh, thank you.. I'm Sophie by the way.
Antonella: Sophie, what a lovely name. As much as I would love to give you a tour around Amoretia, we're unfortunately under the rule of a vicious dictator at the moment.
Sophie: I know, Hatred.. how'd you guys know that we were Terrans..?
Antonella: Your clothing gave it away. *Gestures to her and her friends outfits*
//In comparison to everyone else, the crew stuck out like blueberries in a grape barrel.//
Sophie: Oh yeah.. I mean, we don't really dress all formal like the rest of you.
Antonella: Understandable! Amoretia is quite an elegant place that took us hundreds of years to get back to it's Glory days! But I fear we might go back to the dark ages now that Hatred's back..
Sophie: Can you tell me where she is?
Antonella: Currently in her castle-
//The same woman from earlier, who was running all over the place, walked up to Antonella.//
Amoretian assistant: that's what I came to talk to you about Ms. Rousseau..
Antonella: Ah, yes, Danae! What was it again?
//Danae softly whispers in Antonella's ear. It seemed all the color from Antonella's face suddenly drained.//
Antonella: oh.. oh no. This is really, really bad.
Sophie: what is it??
Antonella: Okay, everyone please escort yourselves to the docking station in Williamson street.
Amoretian #1: what happened?
Amoretian #2: yeah, what's going on??
Antonella: Just please go to the docking station. Calmly and not in a rush. Danae here will take charge from here.
//Amoretians quickly got up from their seats, hurriedly walking towards the door. Danae followed along with them. The only ones that didn't leave, were Antonella and the crew.//
Antonella: I highly and respectfully suggest that you go back to your shop too. It's too dangerous to be here at the moment. *Gets down from her chair*
Sophie: what's happening..??
Antonella: Hatred is getting her dragon, Carrion, back.
Cetus, raises his hand: question..
Antonella: yes?
Cetus: who's Carrion?
Antonella: Carrion is a skeletal dragon with acidic fire breath that only ever listens to Hatred. He's incredibly dangerous and powerful! Hatred used him back during her prime time. Killed over a thousand innocent civilians and soldiers. It just took one lucky hit to kill that thing.. now she's bringing him back because some "snake politician" or something like that knows how to! And they're heading to Westen Woods! *Covers her mouth* oh no..
Cetus: snake politician.. Sounds awfully familiar..
Jim: Well then I guess we have to stop her before she can do it.
Sophie: Jim's right. Let's go burn this bitch!
Antonella: NUH-NO! You can't! It's too dangerous. A queen like Sophie is at risk at getting killed. Terra has only a two of them and one of them has been turned to stone. Please, just go home Sophie. We can handle this.
Sophie: Fine, we'll go.. come on everyone.
Antonella: This is for the best Sophie. Hatred is just too powerful for you and your friends to fight.
//Sophie walked out from building, along with the rest of the crew. As they made it outside, Sophie let out a heavy sigh.//
Sophie: We still have to go through with this. Hatred can't get away with this!
Cetus: right! Let's head over to Westen Woods like she said! Can't be far from here.
//Cetus marched towards the woods. The others following alongside him.
Meanwhile in the woods, Hatred along with the other were walking in a straight path.//
Lucian: Ugh, Are we almost there yet?? I feel its been five hours???!
Lusca: it's actually been thirty minutes-
//Lucian glares at him.//
Lusca: um.. yeah, I guess it's felt longer than that.
Hatred: Silence. I can feel his presence nearby.
Lucian: You.. SAID that TWO HOURS AGO!
Lusca: 20 minutes ago-
Lucian: If you don't shut up I will slap you right across your face.
//The four of them walked through the long cave, before making it to the other side. On the other side, there's a waterfall streaming down glistening clear water into a pound. The grass was greener than any other grass in the entire area. Flowers were blooming put of the ground and on the sides of the area. Lusca looked astonished at the beauty of it.//
Lusca: wow.. I can see why you choose this place..
Hatred: I know, quite lovely isn't it..?
Lucian: I never thought someone like you would be into... Things like this.
Hatred: I'm not an idiot Lucian. I know how to appreciate beauty when I see it.
//Yet, the thing that was eye-catching the most in the entire area... was the skeleton of Carrion. It laid alongside the pound, lifelessly. There was a sword lying near his chest. The one that killed him in the first place. Hatred's eyes softened seeing her old friend after all these years. She walked up to the skeleton and kneeled down. Hatred placed her hand on the temple of his head.//
Hatred: Carrion, it's been so many years... I'm so sorry I made you wait this long.. I shouldn't have let this happen to you.. I should've been more careful.. and I'll make sure that won't happen again.. Yet, now is the time to fly once more old friend.
Lucian, coughs softly: May we began?
Hatred, stands back up: You better know what you're doing, because if you don't- *walks up to Lucian* I will tie each of your limbs to a horse and make them slowly tear you apart.
Lucian: Your threats are quite amusing. Now stand back, I have to focus..
//Hatred walked and stood next time Veronica. Her arms crossed, as her staff was held by Veronica. Lusca paced up to Lucian.//
Lucian; you have the things right..?
Lusca: they're all right here! *Pulls out a spellbook, a few candles, and a piece of chalk from a bag*
Lucian: perffeeccft... Set up the rest of the items for the ritual.
//Lusca nodded and proceeded to lay out all the candles near the body. With the chalk, he drew a symbol of sorts. It was quite difficult because he had to get underneath the skeleton to do it. Eventually, he managed to finish it all. When he finished, Lusca went and stood next to the other two women.//
Lucian, turned to the page he wanted to: now... Quasi nox atra, lux ut infernus, Reduc animam ab hoc mundo migrantem. Audi me ex altera parte, et iterum ad vivum redi-
//The sky suddenly darkened with clouds covering the sun. Veronica looked around, a little surprised at what was going on. Lusca kept calm. This wasn't the first or will be the last time he'll ever do this. Although, Hatred still a little skeptical at his work.//
Lucian: Cum finis temporum venerit, ut sol e caelo explodat, redi ad corpus tuum ut terrorem afferat abhinc centum annos-
//As he said those words, Carrion's flesh and organs began to slowly return. Hatred's eyes softened upon seeing this. Could it be true? Her companion coming back after all these years..?//
Lucian: revertere ad dominum tuum, qui te vocat- *an arrow shot at Lucian, scratching the side of his face* WHAT THE???
Jeremiah: Haha! I gottem'!
Lukas: Nice shot Jeremy- I mean Jeremiah.
//The villains turned around to see who had just arrived. It was the crew! Hatred's face turned into a nasty scowl as she glared at them.//
Hatred: WHO THE HELL ARE YOU??
Sophie: We're are uh.. pirates! Family.. do we even have a cool name for us??
Cetus: Nope.
Sophie: whatever.
//Hatred, without another thought, blasted the crew with one of her spells. The crew members were sent flying. Fortunately, they gained their balance again. Immediately, they all rushed at her with their weapons. Lucian and Lusca stepped to the side. Letting the two women handle the situation. Veronica used her powers to grab a majority of the crewmates. Like Lukas, Ollie, and Silver.. Hatred on the other hand, trapped Jim and Andrew inside of a hourglass thing. Sand slowly started to fill up in the hourglass.//
Sophie & Cetus: ANDY! JIM! NOO!
//Furiously, Sophie immediately went for Hatred. As Cetus tried to break them out of the hourglass. just as he was about to break it, Lusca kicked him away from it. Cetus lands on his behind and looks up. His eyes widened at the sight of his... Brother.//
Cetus: Lusca..? Is that you??
//Without answering him, Lusca drawer out his sword and attacked Cetus. Cetus, luckily got out of the way in time.//
Cetus: Lusca! It's me Cetus! Your brother don't you remember me??
Lusca: Shut up! I don't want to hear you what you have to say!
//The two continued to sword fight with each other. Cetus trying desperately to not hurt him.
As for Sophie and Hatred, Hatred used most of her spells to kill Sophie. Yet, Sophie managed to survive them all. Hatred was impressed but she wouldn't admit it.//
Hatred: DIE ALREADY!
Sophie: NOT UNTIL YOU DIE FIRST!
//Sophie tried hitting Hatred with her sword, yet Hatred blocked it by using her staff. The two were face to face with eachother. Hatred finally noticed something peculiar about her.//
Hatred: You.. your related to her aren't you? Illysa..
Sophie: Yes and I'm avenging her!
Hatred, furiously: shut it you dirt mongerer!
//Hatred kicked Sophie back and used another spell of hers. This tim,e managing to hit her. Sophie slammed against a tree. She winced in pain. She tried getting up but was hurt badly. Hatred slowly walked up to her.//
Hatred: You must feel embarrassed being related to the Terran empire. Considering all the damaged and betrayal they've done.
Sophie: wha-what are you talking about?
Hatred: You're related to a long line of conners. Greedy, selfish people always looking out for themselves.. I thought I named to destroy their lineage with Illysa.. but apparently not.. let me fix that mistake this time. *Holds up the top of her staff, close to Sophie's neck*
//Silver watched as Sophie was in trouble. As well as Jim and Andrew, who were about to be suffocated by the sand. With all his strength, Silver managed to snap out of the vines holding him.//
Silver: GET AWAY FROM HER YOU BLIGING BITCH!
//Silver switched his mechanical arm to his arm cannon. He launched a cannon ball at Hatred. Hatred was blown back and shot into the pound. She was down.. for now. Silver quickly rushed over to Sophie.//
Silver: You okay, lass?
Sophie: uh.. um.. a little.
Silver: You have to get up lass! We have to-
//Silver was cut off as a blade went through his chest. Sophie looked stunned as she noticed the pain in Silver's eyes. Lucian was behind Silver with him holding the blade that was stabbing him.//
Lucian: That's enough of that. *Kicks Silver to the side* now, where were we..?
//As Lucian was about to kill Sophie, Sophie braced for death by closing her eyes. Then, suddenly, a bright light flashed onto the crewmates. Everyone was frozen. Even the Villains, stunned at what was happening. Them.. the crewmates vanished like magic.//
Hatred, getting out from the pound: where's the girl..? I must kill her.
Lucian: they just vanished, out of thin air.
Hatred: WHAT?? VERONICA COME HERE NOW!
Veronica, walks over to Hatred: ye-yes ma'am??
Hatred: search for them! Everywhere! Just find them and make sure they're all DEAD! BUT SAVE THE GIRL FOR ME!
Veronica: Righto! *Quickly runs away*
//Hatred turned go Lucian.//
Hatred: Lucian, now! Continue with the spell!
Lucian: Of course- wait.. *notices something*
Hatred: WELL??
Lucian: a part of your dragon, appears to be missing.. I can't continue with all the pieces not in tacted.
Hatred: WAIT??!? *Proceeds to lift up a rock and smashes it into the waterfall* I'LL FIND THAT DAMN GIRL AND HER FRIENDS! I'LL KILL EM! ALL OF THEM!!
//As Hatred threw a angry fit... The crew suddenly appeared in a room. They fell onto the ground, stunned at what just happened.//
Andrew: uh.. what the..?
Danae: Ah-Are you guys okay???
Cetus: nope.. but wha.. what just happened?
//It seemed that they were in a bunker of sorts, with beds and medical supplies.//
Danae: I-I brought you guys here uh-under Antonella's word.. she knew you'd guys try to face Hatred and told me to yu-use this! *Shows them the staff*
Cetus: Thank goodness.. I was about to use this claw on my own brother.. *reveals he has the missing part of Carrion's body* I just grabbed anything nearby since my sword broke-
//soft cries were heard, interrupting the conversation. It was Jim and Sophie curled up against Silver's bleeding body. They were crying their eyes out at Silver's brave sacrifice.//
Sophie: Puh-please help him! He's hurt! He-he tried to help me but huh-he.. got-
Danae: Help him into one of the beds! We are nuh-not letting this man die! //The adults helped Silver onto one of the beds.//
Danae: Oh, God.. I don't think he'll make it..
