Carmine & Kieran have very strong Surge & Kit energy. Like their dynamic is SO similar I would almost wonder if Game Freak was inspired somehow. The main difference, though, is that Carmine is never as bad as Surge and gets a lot better, whereas Kieran . . . well. He's every bit as fucked up as Kit and then some, lmao.

So I like taking pictures of my gunpla!
Kind of why I made myself a sideblog for it, to slowly get some snazzy shots of the nigh-unstoppable tide of my collection. I know nothing about photography, beyond "some pictures look nice, others catch me at the exact moment I'm about to sneeze."
(And this was spurred on when I realized I could use my monitor as a fun backdrop!)
But what's kind of fun is seeing different people's intepretations of how to do that. Like, I've seen people take kits that I own and get some amazing shots that I never would have thought of - hell, in poses I didn't even think the kits could do.
But even on a smaller level, it's fascinating to see how the same subject matter can come out vastly differently. Take the shots above of my Demi Trainer for instance.
I'm pretty happy with them!
I think the background (thanks google image search) is fairly pretty, and fits well with the kit, and I think I've fiddled with the settings enough that it's come out as giving some nice warm tones. Gives some desert-y, canyon-y vibes.
And then my wife took some pictures too!
Now, we used different phones, so had slightly different tools for editing - I had a magic eraser to play around with and could hide the stand for instance - but other than that, same kit, same backdrop, same pose.
And they're totally different!
Where I ended up going for warm tones, trying to give a sense of heat, hers have focused more on blue tones and despite the brightness, make the whole vibe feel a lot colder. I've focused more on close up shots of the mobile suit itself, whereas hers bring the background into play a lot more. Both sets of photos were taken within minutes of each other, yet they feel like they're taking place in totally different seasons.
Maybe I'm overanalysing what was meant to be a fun five minutes with the gunpla closest to hand, but it's definitely given me a lot more enthusiasm to take some more shots with different kits and backgrounds, and - hopefully - do it again with my wife.
TLDR; gunpla photography is fun and I love my wife.

Even if there was no way to escape being haunted by this impurity, I didn’t want to let you go, so I kept gripping onto your hand.
Until the day eventually comes where we can choose that unavoidable separation, this light from tens of thousands of years in the past will continue to guide my path. I’ll grieve you, with the lamp lighting my descent to the underworld.

MSJ-R122B Demi Blasting
This wasn't actually the next custom I planned to make. It was going to be a Sergeant Verde Buster, but the added components never quite lined up, and some of the connections were flimsy, and I was so put off that I just moved onto the next planned custom and used I few of the pieces I planned on using in this one.
The Details: The general idea behind this one was "use all the custom holes" and "more wires." I used some of the weapon parts from the Zhao Yun 00 Gundam Command Package, and repurposed the leg thrusters from the Chu-Chu's Demi (attached with 30MM parts) to achieve the former, and swapped the left arm for the Michaelis' right arm for the later. I thought about using the Darilbalde's feet as well, but I plan on using them in another custom, so we only ended up with two remote weapons. I also replaced the backpack's head with the one from Chu-Chu's Demi.
For the majority of the colors, I went with black, green, and gold. For all the circular eyes and sensors I used metallic red, and all other sensors I used metallic green. I wanted there to be something weird with the colors, so I did the left leg with with some Chu-Chu pink. Retroactively, it would probably have looked better if I had just done the one kneecap, but I'm still happy with how it turned out.
Overall, another nice addition to the Black Witches display. Since I used such a brighter color, it really stands out next to the Rose and Re:Verse. Not counting a few additional weapons I want to give the Rose, I have two more plan customs. You can probably guess which two they'll be.

Group shot of the (retail release) Demi-series gang: Chuchu's Demi Trainer, the Demi Barding, and a standard configuration Demi Trainer
the design language for these moblie suits is really neat with how chunky but mobile they are; feels like something uncommon in most Gundam series

The Blokecore football kit outfit
Blokecore is used to describe a football fashion aesthetic where a football shirt from the 1980s or 1990s is paired with loose-fitted denim jeans or trousers. The top can be worn oversized or tucked in.
I chose to style the Bayern Munich home shirt because it is one of the best-selling retro shirts, and I spotted the look on Pinterest. I thought it represented "blokecore" perfectly. The bold red colour of the shirt is the highlight, so the rest of the outfit was made to complement the look. The bucket hat and Bershka trainers were included to keep the 90s-inspired theme.
Links to purchase (Prices may vary). ⬇️
Bayern Munich home shirt 1997/99 - £26.39
Black dress trousers - £23
Bershka trainers coloured heel - £22.99
Cotton bucket hat - £4
3 pack embossed rings - £7
Total outfit cost - £82.99
I did it, in my last blog post I promised a cheaper outfit and I have delivered.
Like❤️, share🔁 and comment which football👕 I should style next. ⬇️
