One ends up finding the same character, different show, in the oddest of places.

So I found Crosshair again. or rather, I found a character that shares the same personality, same grounding to reality, critical and strict nature but with sly shit-starting flexibility.

Or rather I should say...

I found Transformers: Beast Wars' "Dinobot" in Crosshair, given that Dinobot is, as a concept, older than Cross by two decades.

And I'm talking TCWs Crosshair, with only vague similarities to TBB Crosshair.

But yeah.

If you're looking for Crosshair('s character archetype and personality pattern), then its Dinobot from Beast Wars. Even down to the vocal cadences, and the incessant need to start shit with someone, the association with eyes (Dinobot has fucking LASERS BEAMS), and the strict sense of duty-honor (which can be interpretated in TCWs Crosshair--even I can see that he has a strict idea of how things should work and what standards to hold one's self to).

So if you want more Cross like goodness, I'd head over to Beast Wars. (Its currently free to watch on youtube).

( The animation style is similar to TCWs too, though with more cartoonish elements and obviously older. Likely because they weren't rotoscopped CGI, but who knows. )

ADDENDUM:

One could say that TBB Crosshair is comparable to Transmetal 2 Dinobot, with ironically story writing weaknesses in the opposite spots of each other--almost as if TBB Crosshair's arc is the arc that would've been satisfying for Dino 2 to go through instead...

Afraid the only other Star Wars analog in Beast Wars, that I can see, is Rattrap, as the Han Solo of the show--and turns out, Crosshair and Han Solo would've bickered and bickered with each other if they ever encountered one another.

Unless you count Optimus as Obi-Wan Kenobi--which you don't even have to interpret: the 80s TF movie ripped off New Hope for plot reasons--Optimus is just straight up Obiwan if Obiwan was the main hero of Star Wars.
