Day 20 odd of pretending its December 2019 Considering my Masters specialisation it should not be a surprise that I insisted on taking 1 of our 3 days in Boston to go to Salem. Thankfully @aniphine is all about the stories that can be gathered so she took no convincing at all 😂 It was beautiful, snowy, and quiet. Eerily so. Everything was witch themed and the witchcraft museum was... Interesting to say the least 😅 but it was the many shop proprietors who tried to read our palms, cards, runes (ish) and auras that took the biscuit. Did you know Salem is the birth place of the national guard? No? Me neither. The story behind this photo is pretty long and strange, but it IS writing relevant. In december 2020, @aniphine and I went om a road trip from LA to NYC and one of the places we stopped was Roswell, New Mexico. Now, I don't have the time to unpack all of the eccentricities of that place, but this picture sums it up fairly well. Despite hating the alien fad, they buy into it wholeheartedly in funny, and often vulgar, ways. How has this affected my writing? Its made me less ashamed to add the everyday weirdness of small towns to my stories. In fact, as I come from a small town myself, I think it's put me iff wroting about larger cities altogether. . . . Doing a deep cleaning & inventory of #RVSiggi to make sure we're all set for all #covid_19 sheltering in place and this darling was in one of the bins of supplies. Not sure how it got there, must be at least 8 years old or so, I guess (no date). Was a nice love note from my daughter, but left me in tears. I miss my family and friends, especially my babies.
