There’s something familiar about her. For a moment, her skin seems to shine like the inside of a seashell, pearlescent and almost glowing, and Katya thinks it might just be the sunset, but she knows it isn’t. Her eyes are large and dark, framed with thick lashes, and with a jolt, Katya remembers looking into those same eyes, on this same beach, almost twenty-five years ago.

“You,” she breathes. Her heart is thumping wildly against her ribcage, and she feels a peculiar sensation creeping over her body. She knows this woman.

Except the last time she’d seen her, she had….

A large, dusky pink tail fin rises out of the water behind her, curving high in the air as the woman props her chin in her hand and grins at Katya. Droplets of water spill from the edges of the tail, glittering in the setting sun like gemstones, and Katya’s jaw hangs open, blinking rapidly as if trying to clear her vision.

Katya’s lit cigarette almost served as a flare, Trixie thought as he walked toward the smoldering tip and the smell of smoke.

His bus had been ahead of Katya’s, everyone blissfully unaware of what was happening until the music overhead stopped and their bus driver’s voice came over the speakers. They got off the highway, taking main roads to circle back to the interstate entrance. Trixie’s eyes were already scanning the side of the road as they pulled ahead of the broken down bus on the shoulder.

“Katya!” Trixie yelled as he approached, unable to wait until he reached his friend’s side.

tripping, falling, with no safety net: this is my cc sashnetra fic of the two of them during the competition. i remembered hearing about how during filming the queens are allowed to go to the gym and/or the pool for about 30 minutes with one of the other queens. so being delusional and insane with @dawningofdrag on discord, we went on a spiral just hc'ing how neech and sash would become closer and it became like our baby. i know it isn't long, just under 2k words, but i was proud of myself for writing cc and actually posting. it also got pretty well reception and the comments on that fic still make me smile !!

ch2 is supposed to be set during the standup ep when neech and sash are paired together and essentially sasha gives neech a peptalk in untucked. but i'm not sure if I'll ever get around to it :/

as for my best (and fave) wip, it'd definitely have to be my baker nali x handywoman rosie. i've talked to you at lengths about this one but it truly has some of my favorite tropes and themes. to be completely honest it was sorta inspired by some trixya fics around as2 or a little after that?? [yes i had a trixya phase back then] writers who i'd befriended at that time [no longer active in the fandom] who wrote au's i'd never think of, especially when it came to people like trixie and katya.

i feel like most of the sapphic fics in the fandom never really feature butch lesbians?? [but then again i only read fics for the ships i really love so i could've missed it!] which i kinda understand since most of the drag queens have super high femme aesthetics, some venturing into alt or masc aesthetics etc... but anyway, i wanted to venture into a femme x butch love story and i dont know, i guess something diff i hadn't really seen before for rosenali fics.. i have a whole outline of this slice of life type of fic that i'm not sure i'll ever finish but i have so much love for it and the type of love between the two of them.. its like freshly made bread gifted to you. except i made the bread and im gifting the bread to myself

Hot take but I did not care about crygi as a ship during s12 (jaida was there, you expected me to focus on other people??? No ma’am. Halldoll had all my attention). But the fanfic authors got me gal. They are very cute. Same with Jankie.

Okay so here’s the thing. It’s not that I DISLIKE this ship, I think it’s a good ship, I just. Don’t like reading it and I always filter it out when I look for fics. Trixya 🫣🫣 I have no issues with the ship, hell, I love them together but I just. Can’t do it.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?

I mean I’ve been in the Star Trek and doctor who fandoms for well over a decade now 😅 do Barbie movies (the REAL ones) count because I’ve been on the animated Barbie movie train since like. 2004.
