how about.... woozi + 'meet ugly' lol
LMAO...... extremely fitting for him i must admit
woozi + meet ugly
"jeonghan, you don't get it," you stress, taking another swig of your coffee. "i'm so serious. jihoon hates me, i just know it."
the noise of the dining hall during lunchtime rush hour has jeonghan popping an airpod out of his ear, his other hand reaching over to steal a tater tot from your lunch tray. "sorry, say that again?"
"jeonghan!" your woes bounce right off of him, stuck buried into the palms of your hands as you groan, clutching your head. "you're not even listening to me!"
"kidding, kidding," he teases lightly, taking a sip of his own coffee. decaf, obviously. lucky bastard. "who is this guy, anyway?"
lee jihoon, applied music major with a focus in composition, the source of your agony, a man you're 100% sure you would've never crossed paths with if not for the fact that every music major was required to take at least 60 credits outside of the music department. and it just so happened that one of those classes had to be one of yours. CMS 220: writing in media and cinema studies.
"i didn't even mean to debate with him," you say, insistent. "but it was a socratic seminar! what else was i supposed to do, not say anything?" popping a tater tot in your mouth, you wave your arms for emphasis. "you know how strict professor lee is with participation!"
"i told you not to take that class," jeonghan chided. "you're literally chugging your third coffee of the day and it's barely even 2."
"this isn't about me!"
jeonghan rolls his eyes goodnaturedly. "so what, you countered his answer during a socratic and now you think he hates your guts?"
"not think, jeonghan. i know."
the dirty look he had given you once class had ended was enough to have you walking on eggshells every time you saw him the rest of the week. not to mention, the way he'd looked down at his notes every time you spoke up during the socratic seminar today in class.
"maybe he just wanted to review his notes?"
"you should have seen the way he side-eyed me." you pause, taking another sip of your coffee as you drum your fingers against the table. maybe the caffeine was getting to you. "it's not even my fault. he's the one who chose to die on that hill."
who even argues that reality is objective in a unit about the multiverse anyway?
"uh huh." jeonghan checks his phone for the time, and you peer over to read the upside-down numbers. 2:15. just the amount of time needed to have a relaxed walk to your next class. scooching the chair out, you sling your backpack on one shoulder, gathering the napkins and empty trays into one pile.
"why do you care so much, anyway? isn't he just some guy?"
knitting your eyebrows together, you stop at the edge of the table. "i mean. yeah. but you know i don't like it when someone doesn't like me."
"it sounds like you don't even like him though?"
"that's different." you would have liked him fine if he didn't give you a stink eye at 8:30 in the morning.
tossing the rest of your empty tray in the trash, you sigh, shaking your coffee slightly. most of the ice had already melted. you crane your neck back to look at jeonghan as you walk towards the door. "in any case, i really just need to get past this semester. this class is honestly the least of my worries, and so is—"
jeonghan manages to get out a faint "uh—" before it all explodes. it being your half-empty iced coffee, à la crashing straight into the other person opening the door. the other person being jihoon, his white shirt and nice slacks all stained with your watered-down double shot espresso.
you stare blankly at him, mouth gaping. coffee drips from your hand to the floor. "i have to go to class," you blurt out, hand slapping over your mouth the second you do. fuck.
well. if he didn't hate you before, lee jihoon definitely hates you now.

For the trope ask: Crack Fiction and Science Fiction or Fantasy AUs.
Tumblr media
So this is in reference to:
put a fanfic trope in my inbox, and I will tell you: - how likely I am to write it - what character(s) or pairing I’d most likely write it for
Crack Fiction?
I assume you mean crack-fics, as in like the absurd kind for absurd sake.
I would say that I write a few crack concepts - but then take them too seriously that they are no longer crack. I like to take something that really makes no sense and make it make sense, like Lavender Letters, where Hinata is Hidan's prison pen pal, and he breaks out of prison to help her. Sounds absurd, but I take it seriously, and it becomes really cute.
I love doing that and will take any opportunity I can to do it.
Most fun with rare pairs like HidaHina.
Tumblr media
Science Fiction?
I have kicked around a SasoHina that revolved around robots a few times. Like either Sasori is a robot that he himself made, or he makes a robot and is watching through it, OR Hinata is a robot and doesn't know it. - So SasoHina for pairing.
I am open to ideas for this or something similar.
I will probably never do space/spaceship (though I love me some OG and Next Gen Star Trek), but I did once write the beginnings of a Doctor Who fic that I never went back to because it was a crossover between Doctor Who and the less watched spin-off of The Sarah Jane Adventures and was just a little too niche. Where the story was about Jenny (the doctor's clone daughter) and Luke Smith (Sarah Jane's adoptive son) having adventures.
Tumblr media
Fantasy AUs?
I have done a few Fantasy AUs.
Death Wishes has grim reapers and ghosts. The Witch and The Scarecrow has magic.
But there are MANY more in my concepts list. I like playing with Fantasy AUs probably the most.
This year, I am putting out a few rare pairs that I haven't before, and a few of those stories are planned to be Fantasy AUs.
In no specific order, these are all fantasy ideas in my concepts list (and some of these - won't tell you which - are upcoming soon)
Demon contracts (in a few forms), wish-granting fairies, modern witches, ghosts, book characters coming to life, mermaids, Beauty and the Beast Aus, luck transfer, being forgotten by everyone but one person daily loop, deity meddling, and dimension swaps
and pairings? Across my roster.
SasoHina HidaHina KisaHina SasuHina ShikaHina ItaHina GaaHina

For the fic tropes: A bit specific but what do you think about Alice in Wonderland Au's?
I honestly have no opinion because I have never encountered one such fic before. I wouldn't look for it though because it's a nonsense story...but Hob in a blue dress would be funny 😂

tropes for the ask game: enemies to lovers, nobody dies AU, crack taken seriously, hurt no comfort, and kidfic
Enemies to Lovers:
C! Some authors can do a great job with it, while others muck it up. Even some E2L ships are great, while others...are not
Nobody Dies AU:
B 🥺 I don't go scouring for it usually, but sometimes I do when I'm in the mood
(Usually I look for "someone lives/not everyone dies" fics. Really it depends on the media and how exactly everyone died)
Crack Taken Seriously:
B 😂 depending on the premise and my mood, it can be just what I need. ATLA and Flash fics with this tag usually fit the bill
Hurt No Comfort:
A 100% YESSS MY FAVORITE THING EVER
Kidfic:
C. It can be done well, it can flesh out the characters in interesting ways while also being heartwarming...or it can also be boring/tedious. Depends on the author (usually with canon parent-child relationships, this is done well. In my experience, anyway)

Fanfic tropes: accidental baby acquisition?
Would I write it?
Write? Probably not. But I love the trope! So I'd definitely read such a thing.
What characters/pairing?
You know, I had that one AU idea where people do leave and enter Encanto, though it's kinda difficult, but the Madrigals are always able to find the way back because the magic calls them, you can say.
So I had that idea for an AU where Julieta and Agustin have only 2 daughters: Isa and Lu, and on their fifteen wedding anniversary (where Julieta's like 40, so the girls are 11 and 9), she and Agustin leave Encanto for a week to go to Bogota to visit his relatives. And then, for the first time ever Julieta sees homeless people. But what terrifies her the most is that there are dozens of kids in the streets. Homeless, dirty kids that need to steal to live.
So once, when she's out on the market, some girl (not even 5yo) tries to steal her bag/purse, but Julieta notices that and turns around. It's nobody else but small, dirty, poor Mirabel that doesn't even have glasses so her vision is kinda poor as well. She then is a witness to the traders kicking off the kids, and Julieta being Julieta has her heart broken. Because poor babies!
So for the next few days, she looks for that girl and... Sees her again! And she decides she wants her. She's like "this poor baby is mine now" and she basically takes her after finding out the girl has no parents and was "brought up" by other homeless people that aren't even related to her.
(Side note: those are the 40s, Colombia, probably the poorer parts of Bogota, and Mirabel was dumped on the thrash as a newborn where some other homeless woman found her and took care of her but died sometime before, leaving Mirabel on her own. So since she was abandoned by her birth mother, she's not even considered to be able to be adopted so... Julieta and Agustin can take her just like that, without any papers on anything because that girl is nobody's.)
So, of course, Agustin, when he sees that small, dirty, poor girl, just like Julieta, he falls in love with her. So they both commit an accidental baby acquisition. Just imagine the reactions of their family when Julieta and Agustin return from Bogota with a not-5-yet baby with them lol they couldn't have more kids? They found one that needed love and parents!

Political arranged marriage
Okay so this is actually a challenge option! For 1) how likely am i to write this fic trope and 2) whom for.
Because see, it's an interesting topic to me broadly speaking, but as it's used in fandom it's primarily a romance vehicle. A contrived scenario to set up a pairing in a Situation. Specifically a situation involving forced intimacy and externally imposed sexual pressure.
And like. It's not that I'm incapable of enjoying that, if it's the right blorbos handled in a way that works for me, it's a structure you can run a lot of fun dramas in, but I don't have anything I particularly want to deliver in that line, either.
Statistically at this time I'm most likely to find myself writing one of these about wangxian, because 1) my brain is in a rut help i have never cared about a ship like this in my life and 2) there are SO MANY of these damn fics in this fandom (modao zushi/the untamed), and historically 'high concentration of trope i find mildly annoying' has a high rate of inspiring me to process my feelings by producing my own iteration of that thing.
The Thing about wangxian politically arranged marriage scenario in particular is that it's a direct inversion of the context shaping their relationship in the canon.
Arranged marriages for political purposes require both parties to be actively embedded in high-status formal social webs which very proactively sanction their official attachment, regardless of personal sentiments, and any ensuing relationship develops within the framework of not being free to part.
All of this is the exact opposite of their situation; they are deliberately the exact opposite of this.
Now, if you engage with the thematic inversion on some level in your fic that's good fun, but if you try to edge awkwardly around it it gets very stale very fast. If I hadn't seen anyone doing anything fun with this I'd probably have been possessed and produced something by now, but I have, so it's eh. We're fine. It's fine.
More generally, I'm absolutely likely to depict politically arranged marriages, in general, but I don't know that it counts as doing the trope because I'm chiefly fascinated by all the ways these relationships can develop that aren't particularly close matches for romance as we typically block it out.
You know the bit in Fiddler on the Roof where after all the drama around love-matches rather than relying on the matchmaker, the dad asks the mom if she loves him, after like 30 years in a normal, traditional arranged marriage? And after initial bewilderment, having never considered the question before, she finally says she supposes she does, and he says he supposes he loves her too. Compelling. I'm intrigued.
If I'm going to write a political arranged marriage as a central feature of a story it's going to be about the social construct of matrimony and how it's conceptualized within the society in question. Necessarily this means it will also be about gender. The household as a sociological unit. Power and property.
It will also, obviously, be about politics.
So I'm much more likely to wind up doing this as a subplot in original fiction than as the premise of a fic, basically, but now I admit I am tempted to go figure out a premise for a one-shot political marriage fic for wangxian that I would find inherently interesting. I am easily baited, what can I say.
Alternate answer: i'm brain stuck in mdzs so technically the correct answer to this is like 20% and Jin Zixuan/Jiang Yanli because they're this in canon already and i'm basic like that.

fanfic tropes! chosen at random bc idk
high school au, unrequited love, coffee shop/flower shop au, slow burn, sickfics, and childhood friends to future lovers
Thanks for the ask, bestie!
I'm giving short answers for once, look at me be concise for once!
High School AU - B
I enjoy a good high school AU since it can be fun to figure out what certain characters would be like in high school, but I don't actively seek it out.
Unrequited Love - D
It's too painful for me to read most times, but if I'm in a really peculiar mood I'll probably do that.
Coffee Shop/Flower Shop AU - C
It has potential, but it seems a bit basic to me sometimes. That, and I don't frequent either of these places, so there isn't that personal connection I have to it (I have never had coffee).
Slow Burn - B
I'm impatient and oftentimes slowburns make me antsy, but sometimes the kush is just too damn good.
Sickfics - A
Top. Tier. I love reading fics where characters just have to care for one another. There's a certain vulnerability that comes with it that just scratches that good itch... maybe I should write and Emily/Henry sickfic now that I think about it.
Childhood Friends to Future Lovers - A
I live for this shit. I love the idea of people just meeting when they're small, innocent (sometime's not, let's be honest) children and then growing into adults that know each other more than anybody else, it's just the Good Shit. It can get a bit sappy or cliche sometimes, so usually as you can probably tell, I'm not gonna give you sunshine and rainbows with that trope (...well, Rainbows maybe).

Teacher AU and Magic Accidents for Six and Charley
(from this ask game!)
Ooh I must rotate this in my head.
Six and Charley are so hard in AUs because their dynamic is quite difficult to translate into any universe without regeneration and time travel. But she's got to have a secret, so maybe that's where the magic comes in? She is still a time traveller, but it's due to magic powers that she doesn't understand--that's how she got here from 1930! And she's got to try to blend in, learn twentieth-century history before her students get to it, and avoid her nosy colleague who never met a puzzle he didn't want to solve. Or maybe she doesn't need to avoid him: maybe he can help her get home... or give her a reason to stay?

I LOVE SPY X FAMILY....i haven't read it in a really long time but i'm waiting for my animanga phase to come back before i catch up to it again haha
hoshi + meet cute
soonyoung thinks he's been sitting on this couch for an hour. or maybe it's only been half an hour. or... he knits his brows. to be honest, he really doesn't know. time passes strangely when he's drunk.
he knows a few things though—they've played at least three more rounds of beer pong since he first sat down on this couch, the cheap frozen pizza mingyu barely managed to make edible has started to taste less like cardboard the more drinks soonyoung's gotten in him, and he knows if he gets up to pee he might not make it out of that bathroom in one piece. or at all.
there's a loud cheer as joshua and vernon win another round of beer pong on the table behind him, a dip in the couch as someone sits next to him.
"hey, you okay?" a cold water bottle pressed to his cheek. a slow blink and turn of the head.
oh, here's another thing soonyoung is certain about. the person that just sat down next to him is really, really, really cute.
“uh.”
“soonyoung, right?”
"...uh huh."
"great!" you give him a cheery smile, handing him the water bottle. "jihoon said to give this to you. said you'd need it."
"thanks," soonyoung responds, just a little dumbly. you are just so cute. he can't feel his face.
“so you’re jun’s friend?” you ask, taking a chip from the big bag on the coffee table. “from college?”
soonyoung nods, sipping on the water. “we took psych 211 together freshman year.”
“the sex class?”
“yup!” as loose-lipped as he is, soonyoung is not about to admit he almost failed psych 211: diversity of human sexuality. “best easy A ever.”
“but i don’t think i’ve seen you here before?” soonyoung asks. he might be an absolute mess drunk, but he doesn’t think he could have missed you if you were at one of these parties earlier this year.
you nod enthusiastically. "i don't go here, actually!"
"oh really?"
"yeah!" your flannel slips a little from your shoulder as you reach for another chip. your knee brushes against his. soonyoung's pretty sure his mouth is gaping. "we're actually friends from high school," you explain, eyes bright and wide from what he hopes is the alcohol. he really hopes he isn't making a fool of himself to someone completely sober.
and under normal circumstances, soonyoung would ask for how long? does that mean you were friends with jihoon and wonwoo since high school too? not to mention the dirt he'd try to fish out of you regarding the three to use later.
but right now, soonyoung is still recovering from the three lost rounds of rage cage, his tongue can't seem to work right with the blur in his head and the ringing in his ears and fuck, he wants to make a cool first impression on you and maybe show off that he's a key part of the university dance team but all he can really think of is how he still really, really needs to pee.
"cool," he utters, more than a little dumbly this time.
your eyes crinkle as you laugh a little, leaning over. "you're cute, soonyoung. talk to me later when you're more sober, okay?"
soonyoung blinks. what?
someone—he thinks it's jun, that damn cockblock—calls your name and announces a declaration of war against the new reigning champions of beer pong.
"oh look at that," you tease lightly. "duty calls." nudging soonyoung before you get up, you gesture vaguely at him. "can i have a sip, by the way?"
soonyoung nods before he even follows your gaze to see what you're gesturing to, but before he realizes it, you take the water in his hands and screw open the cap, tipping back the bottle to drink.
"thanks! see you later!" you say cheerily, handing it back to him before turning around to join jun in defeating seungcheol and jeonghan (who is most definitely cheating).
and between the increasingly raucous noise of the new beer pong game starting up and the pounding in his head that threatens to send soonyoung into the bathroom to do more than just pee, he has a single, striking thought.
holy shit... soonyoung is definitely in love.

For that trope thing: childhood friend romance!
Tumblr media
How likely am I to write it?
I guess that depends on how much you spend on the childhood friend aspect.
In I Will Love You, for example, Sasuke and Hinata have been secret friends and supported each other over the years but were never public about it because of their families and, therefore, have a sort of understanding of each other coming into the story.
My Christmas one-shot Sitting in the Snow, implies childhood, but I don't really think it counts.
If you mean more so following young kids into adulthood, I think the closest I will probably get to that is high school AU's like Why Is It Always You?, I Will Love You, Lavender Umbrellas.
I have had quite a few requests for the sort of childhood friends-to-lovers pipeline, so it's on my list of requests. Maybe a one-shot someday. I am just not sure it fits my style of writing. I am not out here trying to traumatize some children. XD
What character(s) or pairing I’d most likely write it for?
SasuHina primary. It makes the most sense to me out of my roster.
However, since I have recently added Shikamaru to my list, he is a good candidate as well.

enemies to lovers and hurt/no comfort for the fanfic tropes ask!!!
Thank you so much! I thought I’d share one rec per trope, to make it more fun :D
Enemies to lovers
A: Love it. Spend my time combing AO3 for it.
I don’t spend time combing AO3 for anything these days lol but yes, love it! I’ve always been drawn to these dynamics in all of my fandoms, and my Drarry feels are still highly informed by it. I love seeing the initial animosity morph into a tentative “I don’t actually hate you” as they’re pulled closer together - even if against their will. But I’m not picky, I can also appreciate a short and nasty PWP with tons of hate sex 😈 the banter, the UST, the intimacy of that moment when ‘Potter’ becomes ‘Harry’ 🤌🏼 I don’t think I’ve read many traditional EtL fics lately - most have them becoming friends or explore them more as rivals than enemies. One of my faves is The Things They Never Say by bixgirl, just brilliant!
Hurt/No Comfort
D: Not my favorite. I avoid it if I can, but it won’t necessarily put me off reading something.
I usually avoid unhappy endings in general, they leave me too miserable! But I’ve certainly read and enjoyed hurt/no comfort before, especially poignant and short fics. Sometimes you’re just in the moodTM for some sweet devastation, and that trope delivers that in spades! I think I’m more open to it when it’s not related to my OTPs, it gives me some objective distance to properly enjoy it. Closure is a state of mind by quicksilvermaid is one of the saddest shorts I’ve read recently. Mind the tags!

Rate a trope: there was Only One Bed, Coffeeshop AU, that thing where you think someone's thinking but then someone responds and they're like 'oh I said that out loud'
There Was Only One Bed: A-
I'm giving this one the same score I should have given stealing one another's clothes, because I love it and never get tired of it, but I don't actively search for it. There's usually so much pining and UST involved and whether it gets resolved or it continues, it's always this big, pivotal moment and the tension is so good. It's a classic for a reason!
Coffeeshop AU: B
I do love slice-of-life stories, and these AUs tend to be super cute! Sometimes I get tired of them, though, like I don't like them enough to read them all of the time.
Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: A
I got a name for this one off of tv tropes!
I know it's sometimes considered a cheap form of comedy, but I do love it (possibly because I love so many characters who'd be prone to it, honestly). And sometimes it does get used in other, innovative ways, which I always like to see (or attempt)!
