Turns out that writing is rather difficult when you’re trying to both A) change a character’s personality in subtle ways and ALSO B) write a plot??
So here’s a question for y’all -
Favorite plot devices/plot points in a story? Anything that you either like to read, like to write, or otherwise find interesting in a work?
This is a desperate plea for inspiration, brought to you by yours truly 😌

I'm glad we can all agree that Twilight hearing Time say he's proud of him and deciding, apropos of nothing, that Time can't POSSIBLY be proud of him because the Hero's Shade was pissed at 16 year old him for doing the exact same thing he did here and WORSE except with ZERO TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE OR WEAPONRY OR KNOWLEDGE TO SPEAK OF is the shittiest most faulty un-logical leap to have ever been made.
Sweet bleeding mercy, dude.
Dead Time, having seen Twilight pull this, double down on his stupidity, ignore his advice then, had to watch teenager Twi several hundreds of years after his death proceed to do ALL of the following:
Attack huge unknown monster unprepared, charge into battle with only a sword (barely knowing how to do more than slash with it), get fucking knocked on the head, lose track of his brother and best friend in the process, nearly drown, almost lose an arm, get fucking yanked into the Twilight, GET KIDNAPPED AND CHAINED UP IN THE DUNGEONS, nearly get his shit rocked again by his adoptive father and half of the village by running in casually As A Wolf
WHILE knowing full well that Twilight in his own future will do half of this AGAIN, SHOWING HE LEARNED *NOTHING.*
Frankly the Hero's Shade was lenient and could have beat his ass harder than he did, but the breathtaking stupidity in Twilight's conclusion that Time isn't truly proud of him is. Something else. This man has not matured in the slightest. Props to Hero's Shade Time for restraining himself.
By the way I made a meme about this here look

When a test of a prince's taste backfires horribly. Or, how Alisaie gave herself psychic damage for not realizing this man may not act like how she imagines and she's suddenly being thanked for giving the worst food on the star to him.
(or, even, indirectly giving Meteor and Tsukiko psychic damage as Meteor refuses to let Zenos eat that god forsaken bread and has to hold him back like a misbehaving cat away from it.)

i haven’t seen any gifsets of this scene yet, so i bring you more shitty screencaps but this moment felt like it was important me ?
loki walking past sylvie with mobius AGAIN with zero hesitation. (two eps in a row) hmm what does it mean.
(this time loki leaves first and mobius stays behind to look at ravonna, before following after loki - a parallel to last episode with loki & sylvie. and the second time they mirrored those dynamics in this episode! interesting.)

Theres something about the idea of Sparrow and Logan's birth thats really hitting me.
Sparrow has been fighting their entire life, even in their childhood we see them having to resort to violence. They've spent their entire adult life stuck in the past, fighting entirely for the goal of avenging Rose. The future has never mattered as much as the past does, no matter how much Theresa whispered about it.
But now theres Logan.
For the first time, they do have a future that matters, Logans future.
Not the future Theresa tells her of, not the violence they've always known, not the weight of the world of the world on his shoulders.
Violence is an integral part of them thats so intimately woven into who they are as a person.
They don't want it to be like that for Logan.
I think thats clear in the way that Logan seems to idolize them, the fact that he chose to go on expeditions outside of Albion as opposed to being forced to. The fact that he seemingly was unaware of the darkness and the destiny laid for him and the hobw to try and stop it before meeting it.
According to Theresa one of their children is meant to save the world, but Sparrow has their first child, sees their son, innocent and yet to be hurt like they have, and chooses a different path, even if only temporarily.
In a way its finally avenging themselves, the child in them that was killed with Rose and replaced with a hero tormented by all thats happened. As long as they're alive, they'll keep their children safe from that same fate. They allow them to have a life outside of being a hero, unlike them. They allow them to have a childhood. They free them from the expectations that were held on them.
Logans birth is a huge moment for Sparrow for so many reasons, it's not just the birth of the first child, the one they get to be with the longest, but its arguably the birth of a new Sparrow.

tough pill i have to swallow is realizing that “getting better” doesn’t mean “getting to do more things,” getting better for me means taking better initiative in protecting myself. and THAT means making sure i do LESS things

maybe i should just FULLY lean into deidara's roll in reborn au as "the girl one"
"the girl one" being how women tend to be treated in media like naruto where there's usually only one girl per team so they're forced into specific roles, not as like a comment on Deidara's gender
someone going through Emotional Turmoil? somehow it gets made deidara's responsibility
minato gets a bunch of complaints about team 4 being Horrible and Mean and he's like "i don't think i could convince itachi there's anything wrong with his behavior" and "kushina banned me from telling tori how to behave because it's sexist or something*" so he calls deidara in and tells him, and ONLY him, that he needs to be nicer
deidara, every time: what the fuck is happening
*what really happened:
minato, debating out loud what to do about team 4's poor social skills: i could give them some guidelines. suggest smiling more or something
kushina: if you tell tori to smile more, she will kill you and i will help her

trying to find out what the flower husbands discourse is i need to know so badly
help okay there were a couple posts tagged discourse as a just in case measure but by “discourse” I mean isolated incidents of people being aggressive about toxic fh’s existence. But I haven’t seen the homophobia accusations around in a good minute so I don’t know if I could legitimately call it discourse in good faith until that’s brought back into the conversation tbh… That being said some people Are really angry about this in the fh tag from time to time. It comes from the misunderstanding that people are willfully misinterpreting Scott to make Ranchers look better / as an extension of hate for cc!Scott, and that toxic FH as an interpretation is like a smear campaign ran by people who hate the ship.

i think it would be very funny if lime kept stealing all of mochis side quests because he thinks theyre fun even though he doesnt need any of the rewards and everyone is pissed because they could actually use the things she gives in exchange but lime keeps fucking taking all the side quest resources before anyone has a chance to report back

There was some poll done among swifties on voting and I can't find it now, because after miss americana pulled a stunt to fight off the backlash, news are drowning in it and it's hard to search for that poll, so idk how much exactly, but something between 10%-20% swifties said that they're gonna vote on whoever Swift endorses no matter what this candidate says or represents.
Oh yikes 💀 I’m not going to form any strong opinion unless I can actually find a reliable source on this, but the fact that it’s actually believable is… not good lmao

Sometimes I like to think about the possibility of Arthur and Mordred having a sort of temporary immortality, as in nothing could kill them until they killed each other
That was how the Triple Goddess decreed it after all. Only the Disir could have changed it, only they could have killed Mordred to save Arthur.
And if you think about it, all that Arthur is saved from, all that Mordred escapes, I do believe in the webs of fate that they couldn't die. There was a path they had to complete, too bound to die in any other way.
Before they were born they had a set death. It's right there in the writings of the Catha, hundreds of years beforehand.
So it only makes sense that they could not die until that day came.
