My dash was so full of The Vampire Dies In No Time fanart that i thought this show was the new trending thing on anime nerds tumblr (<- didnt realize the reblogs came from only one v active user) and over a few days of seeing the nice looking vampire nonstop on my timeline i caved in and watched the show.. AND NOW IM HERE IN SMALL FANDOM HELL AGAIN... ! Congratulations on the reblogging i guess, your propaganda worked on me xD and i still need to finish s2 but i am now feeling very much Not normal over draluc and ronadora and am even tempted to draw fanart if i have time one day... in the meantime very much loved the first page of the comic you made for them and would be delighted to see more if you wanna show it one day (though no pressure and i mean it !) for those of u whove not seen it its a very silly gag anime/manga about a vampire and a vampire hunter that end up living together/teaming up and all the hijinks they deal with. theyre incredibly shippable men and are a sort of parody of a bickering married couple in canon. draluc is the housewife and wears cute aprons and is good at cooking and its really cute. it's got all the gag manga horny jokes youd expect but, refreshingly, it doesnt put a big focus on women getting their clothes blasted off in stupid hyperspecific scenarios and all that nonsense. everyone is getting their clothes blasted off in stupid hyperspecific scenarios.

the neat thing is there's actually a really well-fleshed-out world going on here, but nearly all of it is getting fleshed out behind the scenes in omakes and the mangaka's tweets and such. there's a google drive of all of the translated worldbuilding tweets and canon AU info (there are a bunch of AUS that the mangaka came up with that the fandom enjoys - you'll probably notice tags like Delta au, Uso au, 30 years later, etc.)

anyways. there is also john and ill never get over how excellent the reference is that the vampire's familiar is an armadillo. look at him

What's a delta au btw? I've been scrolling through tvdint fics and i see it pop up sometimes

The Delta AU is one of the many semi-canon AU's for the series! (Semi-canon in the sense that tvdint's mangaka Bonnoki was the one who came up with it, rather than just some fans) It's one of the most popular AU's and one of the most developed ones, aside from Uso

Basically, the gist of it is that every character (with a couple of exceptions) is shifted one role to the left, IE:

The vampires are all Vampire Control Division

The Vampire Control Division are all vampire hunters

The vampire hunters are all vampires

Draluc is the captain of the VCD and is a dhampir in this AU. He has a wicked good ability to sense vampires, except using his ability gives him terrible migraines. He and the rest of the VCD are investigating a sudden invasion of superior vampires (Ronaldo and the rest of the former hunter characters) in Shin Yoko, and Draluc is eventually tasked with monitoring Ronaldo. He's very overworked and very tired, but is still his usual hedonistic self (and still has John).

Ronaldo is a vampire who is stupidly powerful, and it seems as though absolutely nothing can kill him: not garlic, not crosses, not silver, not sunlight. He is actively looking for a way to die, so that he can resurrect himself and become more "vampire-like" like his brother. He seems a lot more enthusiastic and puppy dog-like in this AU, so far not showing any sort of violent tendencies towards Draluc and actually seems to kind of respect him to an extent

And it basically plays out as a "what if Ronaldo was the one who barged into Draluc's quiet lil life and mooched off him instead?" theoretical. Fanon likes to depict this AU as kind of like a silly slice-of-life office AU, in a sense, but in general a lot of people view Delta as a slightly-to-greatly darker/more serious storyline than the canon tvdint, given Ronaldo's obsession with wanting to die and Draluc's mortality as a dhampir, among other aspects.

There are two 4 page comics about Delta in the official kyuushi fanbooks as well as a handful of little lore droplings from Bonnoki on his twitter and in a couple of his radios on youtube.

I'm screaming rn. I remember someone posted the whole 4 page of tvdint delta au somewhere, I even have it saved in my old phone to have it translated. Only now, I can't find it anywhere. Please tell me you have it saved or know to find it, sorry for seeking for you like this 😭🙏🙏

And I'm sorry to say that I don't have either Delta comic saved D: They may be scans of them out on the interwebs somewhere????? but i am Terrible at finding things (and even worse now that search engines have all collectively shat the bed!!!!!)

The only places I know for sure that you can find the Delta comics are in the Vampdies Discord Server in the Threads section of the Raws channel (it may be in the fanbooks or its own separate thread, i forget which) or in the fanbooks themselves. I recommend the discord server; it's got a lotta information/canon illustration/etc listed
