💁Welcome to day 6 of #YogainyourBody I am your host @Faern and today I am bringing you #EkaPadaKoundinyasana1 or #TwistedScissors . A lot of folks find #EKP1 more challenging than 2- so of course I'm the opposite😆 I kinda like being different. But my point is you never know how something will work for you until you try - can't judge the pose by its shape💡 . At first I was afraid 😱 of a faceplant. If this is you, place a bolster, blanket or pillow infront of your face to ease your mind. . There are a couple different ways of getting into this pose- some go from low or high lunge twist. I am fond of going from down dog though. After a good amount of core and leg warm ups and some twists... lift your leg up (let's say right) and get as much length as you can then slowly start to bring the knee towards your knees and then towards your left elbow as you begin to bend your elbow attempt to stack your knee on your elbow while also maintaining the length in the core and back leg. To get the back foot up you might hop it in just a little (depending on your proportions) and then when you bend the elbows you lift your core and lean a little to the right as you try to lengthen and left the back leg. . Note! You can use props creatively to get into the shape for example a carefully placed block for the back foot might be an idea. And pillows around. A perfectly perfect variation is plank pose with your right knee yearning for the left elbow💪 . Please feel free to add any questions below! Mission: Mohawk

My hands gripped the chair handles, sweat rollicking down the palms in a nervous tension.  I think I have hyperhidrosis, to be honest.  Either that, or my newest choice in hairstyle was causing me more anxiety than I'd bargained for.  Lana, my hairstylist, swiftly calmed my nerves about bringing up the photo I'd sent her on facebook.. a certain style I wanted.  Oh right, Lana.  I should probably paint a good picture of the woman responsible for my most recent purchase of hair products.

Imagine that the Amazonians, the tribe of gladiatorial warrior women Wonder Woman from DC comes from, are real.  Not only are they real, but their culture diverse enough to produce a pop/punk queen unlike anything their tribe of man-less women have seen.  That's Lana, in my convenient comic-influenced nutshell.  Married to a fellow classmate, since moving back home I've really hit it off with these two.  Tall, but gentle.  A warm atmosphere mixed with a goofy grin that just screams mischievous.  Like any owner of a salon, her hair is always a melting pot of current fashion mixed with shaved sides and dyed accents.  No priss, mind you.  She's the kind of girl who picks her nose to show you what her boogers look like, then wipes it on the back of your seat when you're not looking.  Back in highschool, she earned a spot in my mental spankbank on the fact alone she looked so much like P!nk it was mindblowing.  

EDIT: Buddy, if you are reading this.. The spankbank comment was meant to be a sincere form of flattery.

And so, we swiftly moved into shaving the sides of my head.  There's one thing I've always enjoyed about getting my hair cut, and not just at my buddy's own salon.. though that's the tits too.  The conversation.  More importantly, the person sitting in the chair really gets to steer the discussion however they want it.  Is that because you're the paying customer, so they feel obliged to share in your discussion on the serious implications the season finale 'Lost' had?  Either that, or nodding along agreeing with me is easier than telling me to shut up.  Although the latter isn't likely, women tell me to be quiet all the time.  As each swipe of the clippers are completed, Lana is getting more and more excited.  More excited than I am, frankly.  After the sides are shaved and the top is trimmed to fade into them, I'm directed over towards a hair washing station.. which is always really relaxing.  I've decided if I ever do get a slice of that big pie in the sky, I will pay someone to come wash my hair once a day.. if not twice.  Anyways, after which I am directed back to the chair to apply some bleach.  After that, I'm sat under this awesome heating head-helmet to help activate the bleaching process via heat.

During this entire process, I'd been casually sharing my current blogging adventures.  The girls in the shop were all kinda excited, but it was difficult to tell if it was sincere or that obliged interest as described above (see the point about being a paying customer).  I'd even been invited along as someone's "surrogate" date for a formal party on Saturday.  They were all asking what other kind of exploits I was going to embark on during my quest, to which I answered by shrugging and saying "I'm not really sure".  Like my limited audience, I am merely along for the ride on this adventure.  Fast forward to the heating head lamp.  Unbeknowest to me, some person thought it wise to schedule a nail appointment at an unreasonable time.  When I say unreasonable, I mean they didn't take into account that I would not only be late to my hair appointment; but desire to bleach and dye it as well.  Some people can be so inconsiderate, but I didn't hold it against her.  While Lana is off filing down the customer's nails, I'm more or less left to my own devices in the heat head-lamp chair.  I quickly spied an issue of 'Seventeen' and decided to have a look.  Of course I had already exhausted the store searching for a much more manly Sports Illustrated, but none was to be found.

Did you know that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split up?  For one, I didn't know they were together.. so I went through a roller coaster of emotions both celebrating their relationship to one another AND lamenting their break up, all within a matter of moments.  Secondly, my mind was preoccupied then by flashing back to the MTV award show.  Before I am berated by your subconscious for judging others, hear me out.  Miley reminded me of the show, but my mind was more concerned with Lady Gaga's opening number.  And more importantly, how good her butt looked.  Lady Gaga, if you are reading this.. I am in love with you.  I've already started constructing a meat tuxedo for our wedding.  After flipping through the paper-thin magazine chock full of diet tips, dating tips, living tips, boy tips, BFF tips, and <Insert Teenaged Obsession> tips.. I remembered I had my cell phone in my pocket still.  And so, while patiently waiting for this somewhat rude customer whom showed up to her appointment on time (who does that?) to be satisfied with her nails; I was balls deep in some candy crush.  FYI for my readers, I need to know how to get past level 97.  Also, I just combined two sparkly chocolate balls together for the first time the other day.. awesome.

So after my head had been warmed for a sufficient amount of time under the heat lamp, dye had been applied and I went back under the heat for another dose of relaxing warmth basking over my chrome dome.  I'm told they are only about one hundred and fifty bucks, if anyone reading wants to get me an early Christmas present.  After styled up and sent on my way, I cruised down the street in my Lamborfeety with a renewed passion of rebellion and vigor I hadn't felt since my earlier twenties.  Or the Nos I'd been sipping on was giving me one hell of a caffeine rush.  Most likely the latter.
