thg fans, we need to talk about the "rose map".

with TBOSAS, a new Panem map emerged diverging from previous map iterations. Fans have attempted to explain the stylistic difference as either a Capitol map or an in-universe artistic interpretation resembling a rose.

however, this map resembles a popular fan-made map. let's finally address this.

Note the resemblance of the District placements and their shapes. District 4 and its island are especially noteworthy.

the original artist has spoken out today on a reddit post. this is their statement:

Hi, I'm aimmyarrowshigh who created this map, and I just wanted to thank you for pointing out here and when it was originally revealed that Lionsgate stole it from me.  They never contacted me to ask about using my Panem map (even though it is copyrighted as part of The Panem Companion) and did not give me any credit for its use. If they wanted to use it as the TBOSAS map, I would have gladly worked with them to update it to their design specs in exchange for whatever they paid their graphic designers and an acknowledgement in the end credits! I would have been thrilled! But instead, they stole it without any regard, and they're ignoring the Cease & Desist sent by my lawyers. (I am being aided by the legal team at the OTW.)  I am so disappointed by their decisions regarding this issue, from the initial choice to use it without just... asking... or even informing me... to their refusal to admit that they did such a thing. The fact that the graphic design company quietly removed it from IG after Lionsgate got the C&D, yet they still aren't going to give any credit or compensation for its use, is kind of depressing.  I think I can probably speak for any fan artist or meta writer in saying that having one of my crazy ideas made canon is super cool, and if they had asked me whether they could use my map design, I would have said yes AND probably been a lot cheaper than whoever they paid to steal it, just because I would have been so chuffed to see it in the movie. I'm kind of heartbroken that they didn't respect it, or me, enough to just... shoot me an email. You know? I know some people will probably reply and say "it's just a fanwork" or "you made it 13 years ago, get over it" or something like that, but fanworks are made out of pure love for the thing (in this case, THG) and Lionsgate took advantage of my love for THG to earn a little more money directly (on merch) and indirectly (in the movie itself). That's gross, imo. Just because it's a fanwork doesn't mean it isn't the intellectual property of the person who created it -- and especially in the case of something like this map, which exists specifically because it DIDN'T exist in canon at the time I created it.  Anyway, tl;dr: yes, they stole it, and thank you for pointing that out so consistently. 

what to do as fans?

boycott the "rose" map. do not buy the map / do not promote it / raise awareness / share this post.

uplift fan work. support fans / share & credit fan work.

supporty aimmyarrowshigh. buy or talk about the panem companion / share the original map.

How do u make your yearly budget ? I remember you posting about your budget spreadsheet once. Pls I am v interested on how you set it up

I simply must ask if you're the FBI agent in my phone, because I genuinely just sent a message to a friend saying how excited I was it's the end of the month, meaning tomorrow I get to start with a fresh new slate in my budget hahaha

alright let's talk:

I don't do a yearly budget, technically! I budget month-per-month. There are lots of styles of budgets—some allowing for a yearly/more Long Term view—but what worked for my income level was a month-based system.

I lurked on r/personalfinance on reddit for a long while and actually pilfered my budget template from there!

I use this one, which I like both because I've used it for five years and because it's just plain ol' simple. I don't need charts to automatically populate and I don't want to categorize every purchase I make. I just want to see how much money I have per month and how much I'm spending.

That's also crucial to how I personally do budgeting. I don't set aside $X for food and $X for activities and $X for going out or whatever every month. That isn't productive to me; my life looks different every month depending on what's going on. I don't use my budget to be prescriptive; outside of my fixed expenses (rent, utilities, etc.) I just use my budget to track 1. where my money is going and 2. how much of it I have left.

If you want something with a bit more frills, there are lots of other options (one, two, three) on reddit, but I've [personally] found all their bells and whistles overwhelming. If they have useful features you want to use (like, some will have tabs for you to track debt and payments toward it), you can experiment with them, but I don't recommend them for someone new to budgeting.

...I also don't inherently recommend my preferred spreadsheet, either. It doesn't work for everyone. I've shown it to some friends and they almost immediately knew it wouldn't work for them. The reason it works for me is because I am kind of neurotic about budgeting.

To me, "peace of mind" is maintained by having a really close eye on my finances. That means that I track what I spend daily. I manually input every purchase into the spreadsheet. I manually put every paycheck into the spreadsheet. I keep the Google Sheets app on my phone for this very purpose.

That isn't something everyone's willing to do, and there's no shame in that—we all find the different tools that work best for us! But if you don't think you're able to keep up with manually tracking every cent you make and spend, I don't think that this method will be good for you.

If you need more automation in your budgeting, where you can get things autofilled and so on and so forth, I would have pointed you towards Mint, which I've heard good things about, but it's sadly shutting down this March. The article I linked provided an alternate recommendation, but I can't personally vouch for any of those services.

I've been tempted by YNAB a time or two — I like the idea that they intentionally work you towards living off of old paychecks instead of the money you earn month-of [which is a financial goal we should ALL strive for, even though it can be very hard], and I like that they encourage giving every dollar a "job", but you don't NEED their service to do either of those things. I don't like paying money to save money, you know? lol

I keep a secondary, simple spreadsheet with my "rolling funds" in it — money I set aside every month (which I input as a monthly "expense" in my normal spreadsheet) which I allocate to specific funds, like car funds, travel funds... I even had a "hockey game fund" for a few years, haha.

I prefer that method to paying for a service to do it for me. I'm sure YNAB has some nice bells and whistles, and it's clear MANY people love being integrated into their system, which has some automated bits that definitely make budgeting "easier," but I like Ye Olde Spreadsheet. Having to input every purchase keeps me accountable, I feel. Also it sometimes discourages me from spending money, haha, which is probably a good thing in the long run.

idk. I'm a huge advocate for budgeting. I know it can be really hard for some people, but I sincerely think there's some budgeting method out there that will work for you, you know? I credit my budget spreadsheets for keeping my head above water during the many times where money was/is tight. Knowledge is power and all that.

Not to sound like a #girlboss shilling my financial advice on tiktok (of which there are too many), but being aware of where your money is going is sincerely the biggest, most important step you can take towards building financial safety for yourself. My budget saved my ass this last year.

Yeah so, there's this genre called “Analog Horror”, it's awesome,,, and originally, my friend who dabbles in filmmaking had this plot to do a found-footage VHS horror movie in 2020 during when everything was shut down because non of us were working so we had a lot of time to kill.

I had this idea of using an ARG for people to solve to lead them down a “Rabbit Hole” as part of an interactive movie project. It would start off pleasant and would progressively get more sinister and darker and even more disturbing the further down you went. My main intention and goal was to hopefully have this project be the subject of topic on a big name youtube channel like “Nexpo”. I figured the music and aesthetic would all be “Old Tunes esc- BoC-inspired” and would give it a more suitable twist. I figured any fans that would ever come across it would take notice instantly that it was “BoC-inspired” or at least the music. I also figured the BoC cover tracks would add a few disturbing layers to the mystique of this “Rabbit Hole” mystery. 

Originally, the inspiration for the name “Strange Soup” was used in the original upload in efforts to connect ties to this twisted bizarrely disturbing 4Chan video entitled “Blank Room Soup (Dark Web Video)” You can do a google search. If you've never seen it before, you might be living under a rock lol. I just mean It's so popular, I'd be shocked if no one hasn't seen it before lol. I'm sure you don't actually live under a rock lol.

Anyway, It was a strange mysterious viral sensation for quite a few years after emerging on 4chan and has been a part of other “Rabbit Holes”. We ended up deleting the original video so that another one could be uploaded in place of it. 

The idea was to incorporate it as part of the story, but we needed to scratch other ideas altogether because the numbers did not properly equate to the letters we needed to start the ARG and time was running out. We also needed the upload date to fall in line with the project's storyline. The creation of these ARG’s are not easy to create. Believe me when I tell you. I’m just some uneducated moron, so figuring this stuff out took trial and error. Even with the help of my friend.    

Now, if all would have gone as planned, we would have opened another account uploading another tape in connection with the thrift store tape. We were in search of materials to craft out costumes like the one’s seen in the “Blank Room Soup” video and wanted to utilize the office space at my friend's school.  

Originally, this is how this should have all played out in order for this horror project to have worked. We needed The first video to be uploaded at a certain date in order to maintain validity for the ARG storyline so it could be incorporated into the film project.  

The next step, after a week or two, was to have all of us post the link to the video in “thrift store finds facebook groups” in order to drum up the mystery. He and I shared the link on a few of the forums online such as Reddit and so on. The forums had absolutely nothing to do with music or ARG’s. Just thrift store finds and VHS collector’s groups. We wanted to build the mystery up and clue people in eventually. The original video sat on youtube for quite some time. It had like maybe 60-75 views after a month. That view count just stayed stagnant. Then one day in, I think late March out of nowhere, I got the messages in the comments. They were friendly at first with some people just mentioning it was “Boards of Canada”. I thought to myself, “Oh shit, they found the video”. Soon the view count just kept on climbing and Soon enough some folks started becoming hostile. I convinced my housemate to make a response video explaining everything. We all thought this was the best course of action because of how unbiased he’ll be for the simple fact, he has no idea who BoC is (Well, he does now lol) and he is not a musician, like, at all haha. 

Me and my filmmaking friend were excited at first that at least we had an audience now and could run with it. So I figured the response video my housemate put out would quell any outrage and save our project in order to move forward but, boy, was I dead wrong.

The views kept climbing up and the comments kept coming. People were becoming hostile and outraged. Things got way too real and I started to panic slightly. I have a bad anxiety disorder and it triggered it for sure. I just had all these thoughts like what if I I’ll get sued by the band. I had nightmares of the brothers coming after me and them telling me how much of a piece of shit I am. 

 BoC fans are some of the craftiest people you’ll ever come across, lemme tell ya lol.

They had somehow figured out the metadata from the original deleted video that was uploaded months prior. After it was confirmed and revealed to me they could dig this info up, I was in a full blown panic attack. I started hyperventilating. I messaged my buddy and told him what was up. He was against it at first, but I told him, “hey I have to delete this whole channel, they’re going to find out where I live next and who I am!” I just had the worst thoughts imaginable. 

So, I hit the “Killswitch” button and within minutes it all vanished like a bad dream. I was genuinely worried at first that I could potentially face legal backlash, but my friend explained to me that I wasn't out there putting any BoC label on it or even labeling the tracks and attempting to make any money from it.

Ghost Games

What are your favourite games that only exist as a set of tweets or a screenshot of the notes app?

Or a friend showed you in their notebook once but they said it wasn't ready even though it seemed amazing and now they don't play games much anymore and just give an embarrassed chuckle when you tentatively inquire about the game they were working on?

I've been thinking about the ephemeral nature of games and game texts. Back in August 2021, I was asking around about a game PDF I had saved of a Google Doc I probably found on Reddit or some other forum (I still haven't found out where I got it from!). More than I year ago now, I went to share a link to an itch game page and discovered it was gone.

I think about how a bunch of lyric games that hit me aren't on any kind of "stable" platform like itch.io and are kinda hard to find now. I think about threads of "old treasures" from the early days of tabletop RPG zines, games that weren't digitized, one-off convention games, games that were put online but not in any way that's captured by our current platforms. I think of all the games from early eras that didn't get preserved because they weren't "notable" or made by "notable" people or quoted as inspirations by other "notable" games. I think of how archaeology can only see that which was "valued" to preserve.

I think of how many games that I and my current cohort of designers have made, entries for numerous game jams, that will be thought of in 1, 2, 5, 10 years time.

I was also thinking about game design and the act of playing games as necromancy. Since you can't get other people to re-play or re-experience a game session you had exactly, all you can do is give them some tools to maybe try and re-conjure, resurrect, a similar game.

Games die all the time.

I don't think my answer to this ephemeral nature of games and art productions is just to push for more archiving and permanence (lol sorry archivists and historians), though yeah let's try to do that too. I'm kinda okay that some things get to die and be lost. Their body gone, but their memory and mark on us persevering.

One thing that I keep coming back to is (I think) Brendan Keogh's thoughts on if we want to treat games as art rather than just products, we have to allow for games to be the equivalent of a drawing stuck on a fridge, or a poem written in a greeting card. That feels true to me. That some games can just be for a certain person, time, place.

I want more people to see gamemaking as a practice and art that they can engage with on whatever terms they choose, not just whatever terms "the market dictates". To make games with no thought whether they would be "notable" or remembered. To make games for the sake of having this thing exist, bursting and fading like a firework.

If that comes with the cost of ghosts of games littering our spaces, then so be it.

But anyway! To provide some context behind these pieces and how they came to be. Some of yous may have heard this story before, but to explain it for those who may not know…

Back in 2018, I was already starting to feel a slow attachment to furry stuff. I had a lot of sympathy for furs cause of the bs that they would deal with from arseholes and the like, and just how extreme it got (Most notably the hotel gas attack at Midwest Furfest in 2014.).

Soon enough I came across the subreddit r/Furry_IRL back when I use to browse reddit pretty regularly. There I saw what appeared to be this sort of self-awareness and embrace of cringe, which included heaps of irony in the process. It made things a lot more charming cause it felt as if Furries were getting a lot bolder despite the years of attacks, harassment, etc. They dealt with it, and at the same, there was a vibe that made me feel people were more accepting, no matter how weird you got. At the time I was pretty alone, got bullied a lot, and in typical fashion, this was the group I gravitated to more over time.

I should add I do know now the more negative connotation that subreddit gives, and honestly, I have a lot of critiques as well. But at the time, this was just an important thing for me where I felt like I had no other group to be with.

Around October, I was in a voice call on Discord with two friends which included Igloo9201 (Nickname them Iggzy. ::B) and Silverstar. I believe I was sharing some of the memes I came across, and we were all joking about becoming furries and all. I had no plans at that point, but we were all poking each other and being dorks about it.

I was eventually asked the inevitable question though that changed the course of my life by Silverstar…

"Hey TAGG. If you had to pick a sona, what would you choose?"

I had to think! Spider wasn't my first thought at the time, and I was actually thinking at first a Kangaroo, just cause it was a main Australian animal, but at the same time I was reading this Manga called "I am a Spider, So What?", with a main character with a very self-explanatory thing about them. ::B

As you can see from their design, I found them extremely cute and at that point, I hadn't really seen any designs of spiders like this that weren't just meant to be evil. So it felt like it could be nice to go for a species that you probably wouldn't expect, even if it was a contribution to the #1 phobia that people have. ::B

I think at this time I was also getting interested in Peacock Spiders, I was fascinated by their peculiar dance-y behaviour. Obviously was meant for mating, they still had such an interesting personality that it really grew on me. Learning how basically they were all harmless on top of that really made them jump in my mind especially.

As a result, my answer was obvious. Cut to some time into the call, I am surprised by the drawings Silverstar did, and on the same day, I ended up making a Furaffinity account with them.

At that point, the rest was history!

It was a fun end result of everything, I love seeing how much Leo evolved from here. There hasn't been too many obvious changes, outside of him eventually being more based on the Sparklemuffin Spider I soon discovered some time after getting Leo.

The biggest differences that do stand out at least is his body being more like a harder looking shell, compared to the fur covering him all over. His abdomen is a lot more flatter than more rounder in shape. There's also a lot less head hair as well, and most notably his the number of eyes were the biggest change as well, which you will see in a lot of these art pieces I like to call "The Prototype" versions of Leo. ::B

I do feel like I need to do more stuff with Leo in a suit, it was a fun thing I miss doing especially since it tied with the intended "He will get in whatever fit if it means he will get to dance" characteristic I thought up at the time. It was also kind of a thing that was a reference to one of my old as heck usernames, which was on a bit of the embarrassing side, but eh, got to repurpose through this. XXD

I still really appreciate Silverstar for the art, I still hold these pieces fondly in my heart, and grateful of both them and Iggzy for what they did on that day that got me into being a furry and getting my spidey self! Heck they probably are the reason I kind of found out a lot more about myself, being asexual/panromantic, finding new folks, etc. A true butterfly effect. ::P

Basically there was this like... mega BotW Mipha stan who was super into Mipha/Link, and somehow by the end on one reddit thread I briefly glanced through ended up deciding to headcanon that Sidon was ,,, I GUESS??? Mipha and Link's secret love child which-

H-how... does that even work lmafo. I am scared. It just CAN'T work, because Sidon is like... toddler shaped by the time the Calamity in Breath of the Wild history happens. (And Zora age slower than Hylians anyways, so for all we know he'd been alive for like 10-15 years already.) So I don't think fandom has made me outright HATE a character, but there's definitely characters or ships that have been soured for me because of fandom tomfoolery. I think the notable ones here are...

-I kinda am like, really ambivalent about the Tenth Doctor (Also the recent Ten Take Three going on rn, who I refuse to call the Fourteenth Doctor lmafoooo) because of years of being sick of everyone being all "omggg the show just isn't as good now that Ten isn't there," and shitting on the Doctors who came after. Like, I used to LOVE him but now I'm just. Eugh. Whatever. It's almost as if I feel it's my duty to be absolutely neutral about him to balance out all the tumblr girlies screaming about how Tennant being back now is going to "save" the show or whatever.

-So very sorry, as I WANT to like it as a chronic multishipper, but Link/Sidon is a ship that has been utterly spoiled for me after all the drama that came from Sidon getting a canonical wife in Tears of the Kingdom. I simply do not want to be part of a shipping community that is that bitter when canon doesn't go their way- like, yeah we all want Nintendo to give some gd representation crumbs, but what else did you expect? Like after a certain point you really do just have to acknowledge that certain pairings are never going to happen bc of company bias and just enjoy your own headcanons for your own mental sanity. And the raging misogyny that came out of people about Yona was disgusting.

-Tragically, Fiddauthor (Stanford Pines/Fiddleford McGucket) was tremendously soured for me due to a loud fringe group of shippers who were very hostile to anyone who dared have headcanons about the two characters that weren't: they are both trans and gay. Like you dare to headcanon Stanford Pines as asexual and aromantic? You want a nonbinary Ford? You dare to headcanon Fiddleford as bisexual instead of gay? Death for you. Hate anons for you. It just got so suffocating that I had to basically drop the ship, which sucked because it was one I was SO passionate about back in the days.

King Rhoam is not a good father, nor an abusive monster, but a much more tragic, nuanced third path right down the middle where he and Zelda were close once but he decided to sacrifice his relationship with her in order to campaign for what he believed was more important- the survival of Zelda and all of Hyrule through the activation of her sealing powers. Aka I believe he had to choose between being a good father and being a good king, and in an ironic turn failed at both at once bc he simply didn't have all the knowledge he needed to make the right choices. (His wife wasn't there to provide council to Zelda when it really mattered, and he literally had NO understanding of what she needed.)

To be fair I understand why many in fandom choose to vilify Rhoam in fic, as he does provide a notable moment of antagonism in the Breath of the Wild memories, and it is VERY easy to project one's own personal "bad parent" trauma on such a character while making fan content, but I am wholly of the opinion that making him a one note "shitty father with no redeeming qualities" is perhaps the most narratively boring option as far as canon interpretations go.

First off since this is my first time back on the desktop site in ages I feel the need to say how much I hate the changes that were made. If I wanted to see a website that's like Twitter, it will always be Twitter for me not this fucking X bullshit, I'd log onto my Twitter! Which I never do because I hate the fucking layout!

Now it's time for an explanation as to why I've been in a shit head space since the end of July which I will put under a read more for those that aren't interested.

On July 30th I was at work and got pulled into the office to talk with my Store Manager, she had a few papers in hand and asked me to sit down. The day before she'd received an email about corporate restructuring and I was being told my full time position with the company was eliminated. I was completely thrown for a loop since I had been working at another store for a few days a week as of the week of July 9th and had only spoken to my district manager a few days prior about what needed to be fixed at the store I was helping. Everything had seemed good when we spoke so I was pretty shaken up by this news.

I was told I could continue on doing my job as part time making $9.75 an hour or take a severance deal and collect unemployment. I of course said I needed to think about it since it was a big decision going from 36-40 hours a week at $16.85/hr down to god knows how many hours at a shit wage. My SM, who was bawling like a baby along with me at this news btw, said she understood but FUCKING CORPORATE wanted an answer by Friday July 28th. The date this conversation was happening? Wednesday July 26th.

Yes, you read that right, Two whole days to make a huge decision and if I didn't give them one in time I was forfeiting my severance and it would be considered voluntary job abandonment so no unemployment for me! Also if I chose the deal I couldn't take any time off, use any of my PTO or sick time, or even call off because it would be considered voluntary job abandonment and I wouldn't get unemployment or my severance.

This happened company wide with even some assistant managers losing their jobs and being offered a similar deal. I will gladly send links to the Reddit subs talking about this if anyone wants to see exactly the fuckery this company is putting its loyal people through. I had almost three weeks of paid vacation and about two days of sick time built up that I lost.

I would have also been with the company for ten years in November and I worked through the worst of Covid being treated like shit by the customers for trying to enforce the company's and CDC's rules. I was also a manager for 7 or so of those almost ten years.

Then on August 1st I had a surgery consultation for a health issue only to be told it's worse that they thought and I would need a procedure that would land me in the hospital for a week with a TWO month recovery time. Thankfully my health insurance, as crappy as it is, is independent from my job so I'm not losing it but whose going to hire someone whose going to have to go out on medical leave in a couple of months? This wouldn't have been a problem before, you know sick time and PTO for the win, but now it is. I know my boss would gladly hire me back after I recovered but it's going to be at a shitty wage with shitty hours.

So do I put my health aside and risk my issue getting worse and try to find another job right away or hope my former company doesn't screw me over anymore and lets me collect until I'm fully recovered?

Thankfully, I won't be homeless but that's another issue for another day.

I'm not looking for sympathy, monetary help, or anything like that. I just felt like I owed the wonderful people I interact with here a proper explanation of to why I've been more out of it than normal.

Hey, I hope it's okay to vent a little since I don't know anyone I can talk to about this... I've been casually reading some Reddit AITA posts, and while I'm sure many of those are just creative writing exercises, I doubt all the replies are. One thing I've noticed over time is that if a man is involved, people are quick to call out any (real or imagined) abusive qualities or keep digging & speculating to make him the bad guy, but (1/3)

I decided to screenshot the other two to fully answer this

Unfortunately, I've seen similar things. I don't know if you were following this blog back when I posted it, but there was this post on the relationship subreddit. The responses were similar to what you described and it was just so saddening and deplorable. This guy had gotten drunk (now he was a year under the legal age) and from what i remember (I’m just going off of this by memory instead of looking for the post since it was a while ago), he’d thrown up and his girlfriend, along with her friends, changed him and washed him up, I believe. He was upset over it the next morning because only his GF was allowed to see him like that (naked). He ended up confronting her about it and she made excuses. She tried to say it was her (and her friends) naturel instincts as a woman to take care of someone and when he asked her how she would feel if the roles were reversed, she said it was different for women than men.

Those comments were like the ones you described. The comments I saw (and screenshotted) were people saying things like he just felt embarrassed  because he couldn’t handle his alcohol and now he wanted to take it on his GF. I also saw some people saying he shouldn’t ruin their lives (the GF and her friends) and that he should just talk to them or something

It really bothered me. Even if the story turned out to be fake, the fact that people actually said that is awful (to say the least).  Those people just ignored the fact that he said no (or stop, whichever it was). They ignored that his GF knew he wouldn’t have wanted that. I just can’t see that happening if the roles were reversed. 

Your last sentence (about something happening to your friends & siblings) is so important. It’s really sad when you think about the guys that have friends/family like this and they know that and how alone they would feel if something happened to them. No one should ever feel like they can’t say something because they fear getting mocked or being unsupported. People need to feel safe enough to confide into someone if the situation arises

My friends arts got stolen by subredded and a crybaby

Everyone I received a notification from my friend and it's pretty urgent there's an art Thief from Reddit by the name of LBPsan for those of you that don't know what's going on my friend send me a note including a link about a Reddit user by the name of LBPsan that's stole four of my friends artworks without my consent while posting them on Reddit without crediting my friend, worst part about it is he falsely accused my friend of tracing which is not true and that information is false his excuse for stealing my friends artworks he claimed it was hate art and claimed it was Trace which is not true he's also part of an art Thief subreddit called r/deviantarthell for those of you that don't know what that separate it is it's a group of art thieves that steal from people without crediting worst part about it is they like to do bullying and ruin people's lives in a sick game.

Sadly I had to cut some of the artwork out because my friend wanted to be anonymous not wanting his Avatar to be revealed for safety reasons, anyways my friend send me a link to LBPsan's post along with false accusing information and insulting my friend behind his back for those of you wondering why he stole four of my friends artworks because he got butt hurt over an opinion and apparently he doesn't know what satire is or just basically thinks it's okay to bully someone on the internet which is not by the way don't do that, but that's not all he's even part of a art Thief subreddit called r/deviantarthell for those of you that don't know what that is it's a group of art thieves that likes to steal art and bully people over opinions without crediting the artists that make the art even more worse according to the subreddit people cannot credit the artist because of two reasons I think the two reasons is they don't want artist to find out they stolen their art or they just want to cause trouble and claim it all for themselves or bullying them either by opinions or for no reason.

The good news is there are people calling him out on it on the comment section of the post he made on Reddit including myself a lot of people were not happy what he did for a pity reason and most importantly he even tries to justify himself of stealing my friends artworks by saying his own words not mine he said quote this is from LBPsan " Everyone here steals images of Deviantart users without permission here and no one gives credit because it is not allowed to refuel the user to make the images so I don't know why you reproach me while accusing me of being a thief as if I were the only one" - LBPsan

Also I did receive second message from my friend that this might be him on DA sadly there's no respond back through the notes that he send to LBPsan to ask him to please take down the post with the stolen artworks sadly he did not reply meaning that he's either too scared to admit it or is just a coward that does not want to take responsibility of his poor choices, LBPsan if you're reading this just because there are people steals artworks does not make it okay and that does not give you an excuse to participate in crimes of stealing you should have known better it was wrong you should have acted like a responsible adult but instead you acted like a crybaby Man Child and made yourself look like an ass in front of everyone in the words of Finn stealing is wrong doofus.

Allegations & My Response

First off before I say anything about this situation that was blown way out proportion, this “relationship” happened over a year ago (start of August to be exact) when I had only just turned 17 and she was 15 with her birthday at the start of the year, so she’s already lying about that. We were both minors in a consensual relationship, the reason it looks bad without context is because I turned 18 a couple of months ago and she’ll be 17 at the start of next year. I have proof and dates to back this up.

Everything that was said on snap was mutual energy, it was not one sided and it was her giving me consent every single time. Initially I didn’t even want to bring up those topics with her however she told me it was okay too when she first started talking about reddit and what it’s like, she had initiated it. Every time we go on about a deep topic I asked countless times for her consent and she would give it to me, it’s very easy to show out of context private messages that are so one sided to try and ruin someone’s life.

Stella would always talk about her mental health and how unstable she was and this was genuinely scary for me because I would sit up all night talking to her, trying to comfort her and let her know everything will be okay but there was always apart of me that was terrified of what would happen if I stopped and it became so mentally draining for me. This went on for a month or two and then 1 say something just clicked and she fell almost out of touch, talking to other people without replying to my messages and leaving me on delivered for hours while I’m literally worrying what the fuck is going on.

Sure I did care about her a lot, the same can’t be said for her though when her plan was to always try and out me online because as soon as I blocked her, she screenshotted everything that she could use to deface me, and I was just constantly being harassed for months on different Twitter accounts, threatening me about posting them.

This isn’t the first time this behaviour has happened too, her initial ex/best friend was a girl called Sky and in the first 2 weeks of us talking she was telling me how much she absolutely hated her and how she ruined her life and emotionally manipulated her, when in reality it was the other way around and they became best friends again a week later which was a huge red flag in itself.

The next instance is Nebs, we were all good friends at the time but after we had broke up she instantly moved to nebs and instead of respecting her boyfriend, she decided to manipulate him to DM me on Twitter and type long winded, threatening messages to me, months after the initial situation so I never got a break. (I have multiple other screenshots linked below of the threatening alt DMs with dates)

And then only a couple of months ago, she decides to start texting my saved number and talking about how good her life is, and how miserable mine is, she would go onto boast about how she was “literally sucking my boyfriends dick while talking to me” which tuned out to be Stella with Nebs in VC while he sat quietly just waiting. Nebs can back all of this up, he was used and manipulated in the exact same way and the same thing is happening with On1, he’s forced himself into a situation he was never apart of, this has nothing to do with him, he wasn’t part of the friend group and in reality he knows nothing.

Anyways, when we initially broke up, I decided to remove her on every platform, wanted nothing to do with her, because I felt I was being used and unlike her i’m not a sad human who instantly screenshots every private message I’ve ever sent, I just deleted the chats because I was done and because it’s unhealthy to look back on it. (Discord messages save unless user deleted)

The saddest part about this whole thing is her involving her family too, as they are all chronically online so I was receiving threats from her 11 year old brother (at the time), Jasper who had initially told us he was 14. The next was Stella telling her own mother to remove me on Discord which saying that out loud just shows how terrible this upbringing was.

So to conclude, it was two minors in a cringey relationship, not one adult, one child. She’s a manipulative asshole and this isn’t the first time she’s done something like this. If I need to talk more on that I will.

hello! despite claiming to be giving this 'no further attention' there was an update to Djaq's DNI linking to a reddit post. this was made 4 years ago by Talia or Eurus. I was going to keep the name out of it, but whatever at this point. there's no screenshots, or proof to these allegations made in the post: those of which are being pushed by someone who clearly twists narratives (Djaq): as displayed with the post below this one, and so on. I have some relevant screenshots to add to the narrative. so it's not so one sided. @whorrcr @thewhorrcrs

(interesting Djaq also accuses us of wanting to 'push our own narrative' - when i very much encourage people to look at djaq's own blog (thewhorrcrs), and freely post and speak on the url / posts made at length with proof. She has not posted a single thing from our blog, and in-fact has vowed to ignore everything else. this is within Djaq's right.)

Also not a good look to lie about easily fact checked things, such as the issue in the post underneath this one. this showing Djaq's ability to twist a narrative. I'm not sure if the two of these people are the best source of information regarding a situation involving accusations, as it seems like they are involved in drama consistently even now. below is one of the first moments that Talia began talking to Nova again, discussing how to move forward. discourse in mutual friends aside, the two seemed to be friends but there was some discomfort there. that's fine on all sides, seems like a healthy interaction to me. nova owns up to things and apologizes and gives Talia space to process.

The claim about the tickets: the reddit post left out a part. It's also come to my attention she changed her flight and saw another friend instead. 'that's not the way that works' is a fair statement about a non-refundable ticket. it is in fact the case.

i'm not saying believe one side or the other, however there was some additional info we had that we wanted to bring to light in light of the new addition, in order to give people a more rounded view of the story. however while you can draw your own conclusions, you cannot know for sure what someone's intentions were unless you wish to ask them about it yourselves to do your own research. on our side it seems like the history of narrative twisting and drama has been on the Talia/Djaq side of things.

Talia mentioned guilt tripping in the post, however. again, if we aren't involved we can't say what the intentions were. however it seemed short and sweet. here's a screenshot illustrating the picture a bit more clearly. Nova mentions that Talia's comfort comes first, and says that she can do what she needs to do for her own comfort. also that she wishes nothing but the best for Talia.

I made this blog with the intention of keeping this as rule-free as possible. Not simply because I wanted to give people a place where they could look for content that may not be allowed elsewhere, though it's part of the reason it has nothing to do with this, but for other two reasons. The first is that I find Tumblr to be different from heavily-moderated spaces like Reddit (or God, Amino), the only problem is that the content is much harder to find. With this in mind, I wanted to make a blog that makes it easier to people to find RP ads, but I didn't want to run it giving it a direction and moderating it like a Reddit mod. I just wanted to give people a place where to post what they would normally post on their blog but where many roleplayers would gather and hopefully would gain more traction. I want them to be able to just hit send without having to doublecheck the rules, just like they would on the general tag. So, just like it wouldn't feel right to message individual blogs and ask them to use a certain format, I'm a bit hesitant to do on here too. The second reason I made this blog is that many others, at least at the time I made this blog, were run as if all the content posted, with no exceptions, had to be a reflection of what the mod - and with time, of the followers that interacted because it allowed/banned certain things - wanted to see and nothing more. They had so many rules it was rather suffocating. With the exception of things that I won't post because they would put the blog in danger of breaking Tumblr's guidelines (for example, if you send an ask with a NSFW picture as decoration), or rules I set to keep the blog itself running (like avoiding spamming and cluttering) I wasn't planning on setting any rules at all. If I don't 'blacklist' anything from the kind of content that can be posted it's easier to stand my ground when people demand I don't allow minors, or rpf, incest and then start to nitpick about what constitutes incest to begin with until they have me ban many subjects - that maybe they have a valid reason for not wanting to see, like trauma. I don't want to start a slippery slope of setting reasonable rules that end up being a chain of absurd ones. Clearly, all of this caters mostly to people who send the asks, not people on the other side. All these good talking points mean jack to you if you can't see the asks, they may as well not be there at all so it doesn't make any difference. And I realize that. That's why I'm thinking of something else that doesn't put rules on people who post but at the same time doesn't keep them inaccessible for people with screen readers. Maybe writing a TLDR in the description of the image when I tag would suffice? Although this would mean that the ask could sit in the inbox for a while until I have time to do the extra writing, and I'm not sure it can be done on mobile. For now I'm not gonna change the rules, but I'll take this into account and think of a way to have it both ways - on this note, I also accept suggestions if anyone has some.

Don't really feel like rewriting my post, so I'll leave a link to the first two I made. I'll be graduating in the spring, and my brother said he might be moving out at some point this year, but he didn't say when. My parents aren't kicking him out though. He wants to stay with a roommate, but it's not a guarantee yet. I might be graduated before he does. I was 16 when I made my first post, and he was 18. He is now 20, but he's been touching me since he was like 16. And when I woke up sometimes, he'd just run off, and my parents wouldn't believe me when I told them. They only say something sometimes if they see it, but even if they do, they always say he's just playing and that I'm overreacting. I had one of my friend's parents give a call to the gymnastics gym where he landed a summer counseling job in my first post, but he still landed the job. I had her call because he used to joke about gymnastics being "acceptable porn that parents sign their kids up for" by putting them in gymnastics because the leotards were "basically underwear", and he said that anyone can just sit in a parking lot and watch without anyone knowing. Some people said to call CPS in my update, and I have called since. Nothing's happened though, and I asked my friend's mom to call too. I also didn't tell relatives because I don't want them telling my parents who said that I'm trying to ruin my brother when I talk to them

My brother returned as a gymnastics counselor last summer, and I guess it's because I had no proof when my friend's mom called. However, he also landed a weekend class through the winter that's strictly for gymnastics and isn't multisport like the summer camp, and he works with mostly preteens. My fear is that he's stopped touching me since because he's maybe doing something to someone there. But when I called the gym myself since my update and asked them not to tell my parents, he still works there now, and it makes me miserable. I've tried to have my phone record him at home since people suggested it, but he's almost stopped since my update which makes me nervous he's hurting someone else. Is there anything I can do about his job because it's making me really uneasy

So apparently someone used one of my fan remixes as part of a scientific test to judge how effective content copyright bots are when correctly identifying overlapping songs, lol.

For context, I wasn't emailed about this (they don't need my permission for a fan-made remix that dances with copyright infringement; I wouldn't have asked for an email anyways). I only learned about this because my dad keeps googling my name every two weeks to see what my Internet footprint is like, and this paper came up.

I've read through it twice, and it seems interesting, but I haven't looked into this person's other work so this isn't me posting an opinion on it or anything; I just think it's funny that something I had a hand in is being used as target practice for someone else's experiment.

The only bit of opinion and context that I'm gonna include here:

I only uploaded the song because (at the time) the Expanse fandom was begging the show producers to release this track for download, but time had passed without any reply or additional information on possible plans to release it at all.

So I had taken audio clips from the show and compiled a "complete" version of the song, and then mixed it to include more high-end that was missing from the audio format of the streaming service, on top of other techniques.

I showed it to some friends, and—days later—I was suddenly getting a LOT of messages from strangers down the grape vine begging me to upload it to SoundCloud and post it to Reddit.

So I did.

I have not made any money from it. I do not WANT to make money from it. I was simply performing a service because the fandom really wanted this song, and nobody on the production team would so much as indicate that they were paying any attention to this. In the description on SoundCloud, I left as much credit to anyone I could find who could have been involved in making the original song.

Other people have reposted the song to YouTube and tried to claim it as their own, and—of course—they did not give any credit to anyone on the production staff. I won't link them here.

I know they reposted parts of my mix specifically, because I had added a slight phaser to some drums to reinforce the music at certain parts of the source audio, and I heard that exact phaser in the reposts. I'm not salty because they reposted my mix in particular; I'm salty because they did not credit any of their sources, and opted to not participate in the paper trail leading back to the Expanse production team.

Since posting the song on SoundCloud, I also have not seen an uptick in traffic to my usual music site, so I haven't benefited from any traffic, either.

Again, I did not make the song to cash in on fame or fortune. I was simply filling a niche in the fandom, and happened to be the first to do it. It was an easy enough task that anyone else could have done it, too.
