If you had to choose, which AU is your favorite out of all the ones that have been created in the asks?

oh man. it's the camelot x merlin au

coz u see... as you know... i have a lot of um criticism about the bbc show. but.. the bottomline is.. i like colin morgan's merlin a whole lot. and i wouldnt say they wasted him. However i just wanted him to be truly truly happy and free in the end (or maybe near the end of arthur's eventual deaht).

Colin's Merlin never got that, you know? and we were promised that. we were baited with it like idiots. And I'll never stop being upset by it. (and also how they treated morgana's character like some sort of stain that must be erased)

camelot 2011 just satisfied everything i ever hoped to happen with bbc merlin (Except ofc the merlin x igraine part coz NO)

just the thought that starz merlin and morgan could waltz in bbc camelot and fix everything like asap is just ughhh chef's kiss. The political climate they would foster..hec yeah

and bbc merlin and morgana living in starz camelot where basically they kinda get everything they ever wanted (technically)

I enjoy the ones where Older Merlin/Morgan versions get to tutor the BBC Merlin kid version too.

Coz I think the main problem with bbc merlin is that instead of him seeing the future.. he always consults Kilgharrah for the future. So Kilgharrah acts like an oracle and can manipulate him as he wants.

Whereas Arthurian/Starz Merlin can experience time backwards right? like he has the power to know and experience all things that has passed, has come and has yet to be... that's an infintely different kind of power set (no wonder he always become a hermit/cave witch at some point).

And that's the disadvantage of BBC Merlin coz he's acting like one of those kings that Prose Merlin bosses around instead of yknow.. him being the one who bosses and instructs the kings what to do.

So i dont know yet how the au storylines would go. I am excited for what my anons cook up next hahahaha

what about morgana?

to me katie's morgana and eva green's morgana were already pretty sastisying. i dont really mind them swapping or not hahahah

the only thing missing with eva greene's morgan was the shenanigans katie's morgana got up to (all the torture, the spying and the using of other girls, etc et)

and the thing missing with katie's is the good continuous rapport with arthur, the sex, and merlin being honest with her (coz merlin shouldnt be able to say no to that face in any world hahaha but bbc merlin did)

personally love the interaction in the start of s4 where steve goes “ugh, you know i don’t do double vhs.” when robin suggests doctor zhivago. like ugh robin!!!! we’ve talked about this before!!! steve has a limited attention span and if robin puts on something too long, he will start shooting her with rubber bands

one of my (many) favorite things about Barry being a dick when he’s first introduced is that like. He is totally a fridged wife guy. He’s a fighter and a bodyguard for hire. He’s brooding and shitty and traumatized and ~too damaged to make friends~ (and then dies horribly oops). HIS WIFE IS LITERALLY DEAD. but like he also. Isn’t that. He’s literally called The Lover. He blushes when he drops his glasses and the woman he likes gives them back to him. He’s lactose intolerant. He doesn’t know how to swim until Taako teaches him. He makes hot chocolate for Lup while she schemes. His wife is also not dead !!!! (I mean, she is but how much does death rly mean in taz? plus they’re not even technically married but how much does marriage rly mean in taz?) He’s basically that one post about an angsty dude and everybody assumes his wife died tragically but then u find out she’s actually fine and he just rly missed her and is actually pretty normal when she’s around. I know I’m not saying anything about him that has not been said before but sometimes I just. I’m struck by him
