DESIGN PROJECT RESEARCH design observation & thinking   * Demonstrate understanding of participant observation * Demonstrate the specificity of the details collected * Analyze and understand the meaning and purpose of ethnography * Develop the ability to organize an information essay, including background information, characterization, research, observations, and quotes. * Create and use appropriate color palette and typeface and font use for age demographic 

COMPETENCIES/GRADING CRITERIA: 1. Collection & documentation of observation/research material. 2. Organization of information of material collected. 3. Analysis and understanding of the material collected and its relation to design. 4. Completion of Design Research BRAINSTORMING: -Idea of making a big LED screen relay or say certain appointments or events noted for elderly people to take -LED screen would need to be as lightweight as possible to make it easier to disassemble and reassemble for usage -Might added a second device that would be a portable version with phone like capabilities limited to only speech and screen usage. Second device will udably say fi it is outside of main screen zone, then change into portable mode which list out activities and such When the second device is within 7 feet of the main device it will alert our second device back into the charging port. REFINE: Product will be a screen weighing at about 10-15 pounds, containing a small remote version of the screen, power cord, and instruction manual with extra large words and images for ease of reading. DESIGN CHOICE: Create a design for computer design made for elderly people. Screen will have a mixture of colors that will be bright and vibrant along with different contrasting looks to help elderly better separate the colors for better understanding. Along with adding a app or connection to apps to help with adding opportunities, reminders, and appointments for anyone who purchases it.
