changes
People told her she’d changed.
Sure, it’d been 2 months or so since she’d last seen her friends. Maybe a little over 4 months since the break up. And yeah, she’d spent more than a month in Seoul, and another month or so off the grid just cos she wanted to. She couldn’t help it - after the sorry excuse for a year she'd had, all she wanted was a little bit of escape. To just be on her own, be her own person for a while and just exist.
Truth be told, she had enjoyed the 2 months away from familiar places and faces. It kind of felt like a hard reset for her life. A much needed reset, in her opinion.
Had she changed?
Okay, so she did come back to her hometown about 10kg or so slimmer, with a short boyish crop of copper hair and dressed in clothes she wouldn’t have worn half a year ago - a black turtle neck, checkered collared jacket and belted black jeans. Not to mention 3 more piercings in her ears and new silver steel earrings. Maybe it was the ice blue coloured contact lenses too, turning her brown eyes a grey green instead.
Looking at herself in the toilet mirror, she took in her appearance and had to admit that yes, perhaps the change might have been pretty jarring for the friends she’d left at the table - the friends who’d last seen her more than 60 days ago.
She’d walked into the cafe and waved to the group of 4 gathered at the table. Two of them had heir backs facing her so they hadn’t seen her entrance. The other two - her best friend since 15 and her boyfriend of 4 years - had been facing the cafe door but stared past her for a good 1 minute. She kept on waving, wondering why there was no response as she strode over to their table.
Eyes widened in shock and recognition as she sat down on the empty chair beside her.
“Oh my god, I didn’t recognise you at all! What happened to your hair?!”
She’d shrugged and laughed. “C’mon, you always knew I wanted to cut it short.”
Opposite her, the two other guys at the table did a double take.
“Wait, is that really you? Man you look like you really DO live in Seoul.”
“Well, I did technically. For a month.”
2 coffees and a cheesecake later, she’s excused herself to the washroom to freshen up. To be honest, she hadn’t made any of these changes on purpose - the loss of weight, the haircut, the change in style. She supposed, maybe with finally being free of all the unnecessary pain in her life, these were all things she had always wanted to do. Be healthier. Look cool. Try new clothes. Be herself? Probably.
She walks back out to rejoin her friends at the table - her Best Friend Jane, her Best Friend’s boyfriend Alex; Ross - the annoyingly athlete whom she’d befriended in freshman year during a concert, and Kai - Ross’s best friend who for some reason had always been in the same classes as her since she’d started university. The people she’d grown to love through tumultuous years as a struggling university student. People whom she’d - somewhat guiltily - wanted to get some space from during her 2 month hiatus. Not that she didn’t enjoy their company, but everything had just been too suffocating back then - too many memories and too much to deal with.
But now, things were different. She was different. And she was happy to see them again.
“Dang, Morgan. I still can’t get over how different you look.” Ross blurts out in the midst of the ongoing conversation she and Jane are having about lattes versus Americanos.
She looks over from the fake banter she was engaged in with Jane and raises an eyebrow. “It’s weird though, I don’t actually feel like I changed much.”
“Are you kidding me right now?” Kai, who’d been strangely quiet most of the coffee session, finally spoke his first few words of the night. “You’re like, a whole new person. If you didn't sit with us I would have thought you were a stranger.”
Both of her eyebrows arch upwards now, and she isn't quite sure how she should react to that comment. She studies Kai’s face, which she remembered being usually easygoing and ready to smile. There was none of that today, and she realised that he seemed... sad? Not really. Something closer to mirth, almost a cold meanness. She’s pretty sure that's not the Kai who sat next to her in every class, always cracking some lame joke which she’d roll her eyes at with a smile. This Kai seemed cold, almost angry. Was it her? Had she caused this? Or had something happened to change him too?
Nonetheless, the tension at the table had gone up a notch and she had to do something. She could feel Jane getting worried and flustered beside her, with sweet Alex trying to think of a amicable reply. Ross was just open-mouthed in shock, not quite sure what to say.
She gave a smooth chuckle, unruffled (seemingly) by her friend’s icy tone. She ran a hand through her fringe out of habit and took a sip of her iced Americano before saying, quietly, “Well I guess it’s a good thing I did sit down then.” She smiled because she really did mean the words she was about to say next, “I really missed you guys when I was in Seoul.”
Kai’s eyes softened a little, although his expression never changed. She took it as a small win. Jane engulfed her in a passionate side hug, and the table mood was in a good place again.
“Who told you to go for so long! When you said you needed some space to work things out yourself, I didn't imagine it would be that long or that hard not seeing you.”
“I know, I'm that important in your life right.” Morgan laughs. “You totally don't have a super nice boyfriend, a thesis to write, and your sister’s wedding in a week that you had to plan for.” She jabs playfully at Jane, who rolls her eyes but is still smiling fondly at her.
“I hate you Morgan, you know that right.”
“Uh-huh, I’m sure. That’s why you stuck with me for 7 years.”
“Urghhh, you two are grossing me out. Alex is Jane’s boyfriend, not you Miss Kpop-idol-from-Seoul.” Ross grimaces, although this is definitely not the first time he’s witnessed such banter from them.
“Alex doesn't mind.” Both her and Jane chorus together.
Alex laughs, his eyes crinkling good-naturedly into tiny crescents. “I’m glad you’re back Morgan. You wouldn’t believe the number of times Jane wanted to call you but realised you wouldn’t be contactable. We really did miss you.
“Anyway, we’ve spent most of the night going on about all of our boring lives the past 2 months. How was your trip? Are you feeling better after Seoul?”
One of the reasons Morgan had approved of Alex dating her best friend was because he really was such a sweet guy. Not a selfish bone in his body, and a heart of gold. She couldn’t think of a better person to love her Best Friend. She smiles and does a quick reflection on her month in Seoul - all the museums, streets, people, morning runs and time to sketch and take photographs that she’d had. Koreans liked to use the word healing, and she couldn't think of a better way to put it.
“Yeah. Healing, right? That’s what they always say in k-dramas. That's what it felt like. Healing.”
Jane beams happily at her. “What’s your favourite thing about Seoul?”
“Wow, I’m not sure I can pick just one thing though my god...”
“Okay okay,” Ross chimes in. “How about your best memory then?”
She cocks her head to the side, biting her lip as she tries to think of her best memory. There were truly so many good memories there, it was hard to pick the best one.
“Hmmmm... well this is gonna seem a little unimpressive for a best memory. But if I had to pick I think it was one Saturday morning when I travelled a little further to MMCA. It was that golden hour kind of sun, and - don’t judge me for this - but I bought a MacDonald’s coffee and walked from the station to MMCA. It was like maybe 7 degrees out? But the sun was so pretty. It was such a nice walk, I took some photos and sat outside MMCA and just drank my coffee and I don't know. I felt really happy and free. Like I could just be myself, you know? And that life was good and I didn’t anything else in that moment.
“Sorry I bet you guys were expecting like some epic night out, or some amazing mountain hike or maybe I met BTS?”
They laughed at her finishing comment. Well most of them did. Kai just drank his latte quietly, not looking up from his coffee cup.
What was up with him, seriously? Morgan decided that she'd confront him in class on Monday.
“Nah man, that sounds pretty amazing actually.” Ross assured her. “Sometimes in life it’s just the little things, amirite? I feel the happiest when I’m on my morning runs. Nothing fancy, just me and the pavement beneath.”
She nods and finishes the last of her coffee. “Yeah man, I never thought something so simple could make me so happy. Kind of made me think, why was I trying so hard before, you know?”
It was a vague reference, but everyone knew enough to know she was talking about her ex. The break up that had radically shifted the course of her life. The heartbreak of being cheated on, and the toxicity of a relationship that had pulled her down all this time without her realising. In hindsight, she was actually thankful she broke up with him. It felt like she was a chained tiger who’d finally escaped her cage. Free, and ferocious in all her newfound strength. Ready to conquer the adventures of life again.
Of course, only Jane knew the full extent of how horrid that relationship had been and how hard she’d taken it at first. She didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, so not everyone - not even Alex - at the table knew much about the break up other than it had happened.
A soft hand lands on her shoulder, and she turns to see Jane smiling that soft smile of hers at her. “But that’s how you’ve always been Morgan. You’ll try your hardest till you die for something you truly believe in, and I love that about you. I'm just happy you came to before you really died on the inside.”
The sudden, sombre shift in atmosphere makes Morgan feel a little uncomfortable. She gives her signature half smirk. “Yeah right, like I'd die that easily. What has our years of friendship taught you?”
Jane shakes her head fondly, knowing the bravado has always been her way of diffusing difficult situations and topics.
“It’s getting late.” Kai says, putting down his now empty cup. “We should all head home.”
Morgan is, once again, puzzled and a little concerned about the cold edge in her friend’s tone that she has never heard before. She made a mental note to text Jane about it later.
“Yeah,” she agrees, despite it being way before her bedtime. “The place is closing soon anyways.”
They get up to leave, gathering their bags and finishing their drinks. Morgan is slinging her black Oxford bag over her shoulder, when she feels someone tapping her back softly. She turns around to see one of the baristas from the counter with a cup of iced Americano in her hand.
“Sorry, this might come off a little weird but, my friend over there wanted to ask you out but she's too shy to do it herself.”
Everyone at the table shuffles awkwardly. Morgan just smiles. Honestly, this wasn't the first time something like this happened since her haircut in Seoul.
“Mm,’ she hums thoughtfully. “Your friend knows I’m a girl right.”
The barista flashes a triumphant smile and calls over to her colleague. “See, I told you!!” The other barista just blushes a deeper shade of red. “Yeah, I told her I'm pretty sure you’re a girl, but she said she doesn't care whether you're a buy or girl. She thinks you're cute.”
Morgan cocks an eyebrow for the second time that night. “O...kay. I kind of don't swing that way though, sorry. Don't mind being friends though?”
The barista smiles. “Aww, that’s sweet of you. ‘Kay I'll tell her what you said, but the coffee’s on the house. Her number’s on the sleeve if you change your mind.” She says with a wink before handing the cup to Morgan and heading back to the counter - no doubt to report back to her blushing friend.
“Well... that was awkward.” Ross breaks the silence, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment, as if it was him who was asked out.
“Believe it or not, that’s not the first time something like this has happened to me since I got the haircut.”
“Wait. Are you really thinking of calling her?” Kai looks at her incredulously, noticing the coffee cup still in her hand.
“So what if I do?” Morgan retorts, getting a little peeved at his behaviour today. “She’s a nice girl who gave me a free coffee.”
“Wow,” Jane looks at her with bug-like eyes. “Seoul really has changed you.”
“I’m just kidding. But I probably will text her though, just to turn her down nicely. Cos I’m not a douche like some guys.”
She doesn't catch the glare that Kai gives her as she walks out of the cafe.
---
His friend had changed.
It was Monday, their first day back in school after the year end holidays. Sure, Kai had already met up with Morgan and the gang on Sunday, so he really shouldn't be surprised to see how different she had become. But he found himself still a little shocked to see his friend - the girl who had sat beside him for countless classes, indulging grudgingly in his lame jokes, the girl whom he had seen as more of a bro than an actual girl for the longest time - walking into class in an artfully distressed black wool sweater a few sizes too big, tucked into a pair of ripped jeans and sporting black Dr Martens. Her boyishly-cut hair looked slightly windswept, curling prettily and loosely around her forehead. The shortness of her hair exposed every ear piercing she had/had gotten, along with her slender neck, strong jawline and the slight dip of her collar bones. Had her brow somehow gotten stronger, her lashes longer, her eyes bigger and her lips more full? How could someone look prettier even though her hair was shorter and her features more strong and defined?
Kai was in trouble. He could tell from how couldn't help but stare at her, heart pounding a little too fast and much too loud in his ears. What was happening to him? He’d sat beside this girl for more than 3 years of his life, and he’d never once felt anything more than platonic concern for her. But suddenly, one trip to Korea and a coffee later, he can’t stop his heart from palpitating uncontrollably. It made him immensely irritated. Not to mention how she’d up and left 2 months ago, just ghosted everyone (him included) without any explanation, until she’d returned last week and asked them out for coffee in their group chat.
Wasn’t that a little too much? And now she had to come back looking like this.
It was too much for him to take. All this change. In his friend, and in himself and his feelings too. He knew yesterday at the cafe, he’d been less than friendly - perhaps even hostile - towards Morgan. But he couldn't help it. He was so afraid that if he didn't have the guise of anger to hide behind, he’d say other things he’d regret much more.
He knew there was a point last night where he’d said something that really did hurt her. He forgot what it was, but he’d seen the hurt in her eyes for a fleeting moment, although she had a smile on her face. It was that empty smile she’d seen her plaster on before, when she was with him - her ex. He’d hated seeing her like that, and hated himself even more for being the one to have caused it. But he had to keep her at arm’s length - at least until he’d figured out what exactly he was feeling.
Unfortunately, though, Morgan seemed entirely clueless to his predicament as she sat down beside him and placed a tray with 2 coffee cups on the lecture hall table. He tried to keep his face stoic, but inside he was a panicking mess. He couldn't even turn to face her.
“Hey, I brought you coffee. It’s still a flat white right, you haven't changed your order while I was away.”
He really should say thanks and give her a smile, because that’s what she deserved for being sweet enough to still remember his coffee and get it after the terrible attitude he’d shown her yesterday night. But all he could manage was a curt nod and a muttered, “Thanks.”
She’s silent as she takes her cup out of the tray and pulls out her textbook. The professor’s taken the attendance and is beginning his class. He steals a sideways glance, and sees the deep frown on her forehead. He wished he could reach out and smooth it away.
Stop it, Kai. What the heck are you thinking?! This is Morgan, your friend whom you’ve seen in all sorts of unglamorous, embarrassing and epic situations. Morgan, who probably just sees you as a bro. Not to mention, she's also a year older than you. So that's younger bro to you, sir.
His inner monologue is shattered by the abrupt clank of a pen hitting the table. It’s not loud enough to disrupt the class, but loud enough that Kai can hear it clearly. Morgan’s hand is on the table beside him, clasped over the pen she’d just slammed down.
“Look,” she turns to face him, her voice low but clear. He has no choice but to turn and meet her eyes, a pretty grey-green now. He’s distracted by the colour for a while, until she speaks again.
“I get it if you think I've changed. Maybe I have. Why’s that a bad thing though? And why are you so upset with me about it? Is it cos I disappeared without telling you? Just tell me so at least I know why you're treating me like this.”
He can see the sheen of tears starting to well up in her eyes, and he feels like the worst person on earth. In all the years he’d known Morgan, he’d never really seen her cry before. It was almost shocking, to see her on the brink of tears because of him. She doesn't tear up like how most girls would, with trembling lips and a sad expression. Instead, her jaw is set and her lips pressed together tightly. Her brows are arching in an almost angry way, and she looks more ferocious than vulnerable despite the tears building up in her eyes.
Kai squares his jaw. “Let’s talk after class.” is all he manages to say.
Morgan snorts at him, and instead of the tears spilling over, they almost seem to dissipate before actually falling. “Fine. After class. Let’s settle this.”
He muses about how it sounds like one of those things gangsters say when they decide on a fight.
---
They’re on the rooftop.
They used to come up here when he was a freshman, and she was a sophomore. That was before he’d managed to skip a year and suddenly they had every class together. When they needed a place to meet because their schedules hadn’t aligned that well.
Sadly, it wasn't just schedules that were lining up well right now for them.
Kai sighs as he runs a hand through his hair. Morgan is standing beside him, arms crossed as both of them look over the ledge to the sprawling campus courtyard below.
“We’re here. Let’s talk.” she says curtly.
He doesn't know how to begin. His brain is turning over various opening sentences over and over again, but his mouth refuses to move. For a good 5 minutes.
“Fine, if you’re not going to say anything then I will. I don't know what I've done wrong to make you so angry with me Kai, but I know I definitely don't deserve this. I’ll admit, I probably could have handled things a little better when I wanted to leave. Explained more. Not just upped and left. So yeah I get it, a bit of a jerk move on my end. But I really needed that break. Really badly.
“I didn't tell you guys much because I didn't want you to worry. But it was bad. I was in a bad place... I knew I had to call a time out on everything before it was too late. So yeah, I know I didn't go about it the best way and I’m sorry for the way I left. But I'm not sorry for going, and I'm not sorry for changing.
“The way I am now... I'm happy this way. I don't want to go back to that miserable person who thought she was happy all this time. So I’m not gonna be sorry for that. And if you feel maybe the me right now is not someone you can be friends with then fine, I respect that. Just say it to my face instead of treating me like you can't wait to bite my head off.”
The silence is excruciating.
He had never heard such raw emotion come from her before. It was like being burned at the centre of a flame, right at its hottest point. His mind went blank, and he just couldn't think of any response to explain how wrong she was, how he didn't hate her at all, how he wasn't angry at her but really, truly, he was just angry at himself.
Most of all, he didn't know how to say anything without admitting how his feelings for her had changed. That's right. He was finally admitting it. He had feelings for her. And it hadn’t just started yesterday, when she'd returned looking amazing (although that did amplify things quite a bit). No, when he began to really think about it, it had probably started when he found out about the break up... how angry he had been at him for breaking her heart (although he had no clue what had happened, all she said was that it “didn't work out”, but somehow he knew he’d broken her heart). How he’d wanted so badly to text her “are you okay? do you want to talk?” instead of “oh man, it’s okay lots of fish in the sea.” How he’d been so worried when she didn't reply for days, and when he called her phone was off, only to find out from Jane that she’d decided to take a break and went off the grid. How throughout those 2 months she’d been in Seoul and elsewhere, he wanted so badly to just text “I miss you” but knew it wasn't something a bro would do. How he had imagined the day she’d be back, he'd take her out to her favourite pizza place and ask her all about her trip, if she was doing okay, laugh and make lame jokes at her stories and walk her home. Give her a friendly hug before calling it a night. How they'd go back to class again the next day.
Yeah, if he was honest with himself, he’d changed too, many months back. Even before she’d changed and became someone cooler, he’d already cared about her back then.
But he had no idea how to put all of that into words, and so the silence stretched on even longer.
“...Fine. I’m done with this.” she turns around and walks away, leaving him to continue staring out at the courtyard.
He can hear her footsteps, getting further away as the distance between them and their hearts grows with every step.
Suddenly, he’s sprinting to catch her as she’s almost at the door to the stairway. Before he can think, he is grabbing her wrist and pulling her back, away from the exit and turning her around to face him. Her brow is creased in a puzzled and angry frown, and her whole body goes rigid, as if she’s about to bolt at any moment.
“I’m sorry.”
That damned arching brow of hers, as she gives him her habitual questioning look.
He sighs, once again running a hand through his hair nervously. “I’m sorry.” he says again uselessly.
“Okay?”
“No, wait. Let me just... I just...” he fumbles and growls in frustration. He’s still holding her wrist, but gentler now. “Why can't I talk properly in front of you?!”
Some of the anger has gone from her face, and now she looks genuinely puzzled. “What do you mean? It’s always been hard to get you to shut up.”
He laughs bitterly. “Yeah about dumb, useless things.
“Okay look, I messed up. You’re right, you didn't deserve to be treated like that. I guess I was angry. But not at you. At myself.”
Now, she’s just plain confused. He waves his free hand placatingly, indicating that he's about to explain.
“Thing is, you're not the only one who’s changed the past few months. I think I've changed too, without really realising it till recently.
I know we’ve always seen each other as friends. Bros. Whatever. And I’m a year younger so maybe I'm more like a little bro to you. But I think at some point that's no longer how I feel about you.
Remember when you first broke up? Yeah, sorry I’m bringing it up. I told you “its okay, lots of fish in the sea.” right? What I really wanted to say was “are you okay?” But I didn't cos I was stupid and scared.
And when you disappeared. I wasn't angry actually. I was really scared something bad had happened to you, but then Jane told me you left and I was happy you were safe.
Those months you were away, I really missed you. Not us like our group, but me. Just me. I missed you. There was so many times I wished I could have just texted you that. Hey, I miss you. But yet again, stupid me was too scared to.
And when you came back, yeah I was angry. But not at you, because you’d changed. I was angry at myself, because I saw how you had to heal and go through everything alone all that time. And I wasn’t there for you and I didn't anything to help you.
I’m sorry it came off the way it did. I guess in summary, I was just scared of everything I was feeling. And I was scared of losing our friendship because of it. Cos you know, we’ve always been friends. Bros. Doing bro stuff all the time. And you’ve always been looking out for me although we’re seriously barely a year apart?! But still. You probably don't see me that way, and to be honest I never realised I saw you this way until everything went down last year.
Basically I guess, what I'm trying to say Morgan is.
I like you.”

Kimchi- Chapter 1/3
“Sean? Sean? Hey!”
“Huh?”
“You listening?
  3:35. Year 9 Korean class 9A had finished 5 minutes ago, and only two people were still left in the room.
Kim Kang, a Korean star athlete who had went through an injury and been stripped of any chance at the Olympics at 20 years old. Luckily, the now 23 year old Kim was in a different country, fulfilling his other passion- teaching. He now taught Korean at Kyusin High school.
In the room with Kim was Sean Sun. He’d just moved to this new country 2 years ago, just in time for him to pick which language he wanted to study throughout high school. The teenager decided on Korean, leading him to his fate now in Year 9.
  “Yes. Sorry.” Sean apologized and reached for his bags.
As he was beginning to leave the room, a hand grabbed onto his shoulder and spun him around.
  “Did you hear what I asked in class?”
“Uhh...” Sean sheepishly looked around.
“I’ll take that as a no. I asked people who received a mark higher than 25 out of 30 on the test to meet me this afternoon for a talk on extension work. You are one of these people.”
“Oh, yeah.”
“I also said I would split it between boys and girls.” Kim stared more intently at Sean now.
“You are the only boy who got higher than 25, so you are having private lessons.”
“Wait. Private lessons? When?”
“Why not now?”
  Sean dropped his bag down and began to open it up, taking out his books and pencils. Kim pulled two desks together and sat on one.
  “Alright. Let’s see what you remember from last years end of year test.”
He gestured for Sean to sit next to him.
  “Translate ‘I go to the store to buy kimchi everyday.’”
“naneun maeil gimchileul saleo gagee ganda.”
“Good. That was easy one. I’ll find something harder.”
  ““Write down ‘I have a brother and two sisters.’”
Sean pushed his book to Kim.
“Wow- you really did listen!”
  Sean giggled.
“Surprising, I know.”
  “Okay, let’s try this- ‘I have a boyfriend. He is tall, and has blond hair. He is 16 years old.”
Sean looked up at KIm, confused.
“Ha, you didn’t listen for that part in class. The girl wanted me to write that. Teenagers these days, how can they get boyfriends so quickly? You don’t have to translate it.”
  “Uh… I can try?”
Kim turned to Sean with a playful smile.
  “Really? Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. Try.”
  Sean’s hand spilled across the paper as he speed-wrote whatever came to his mind. He silently handed the book to his teacher, awaiting a reply.
“seonsaengnim-i iss-eoyo. geuneun kiga keugo geom-eun meolileul gajigo issseubnida. geuneun seumul se sal-ibnida.”
  Kim stared at him for a few seconds. Then he finally began to speak- no.
Laugh.
  “I- I have a teacher.”
Sean gasped. Had he really wrote that?
  “He is tall, and has black hair. He is twenty three years old.”
Kim glanced at Sean, still laughing.
  Sean’s face turned a deep red of embarrassment. Sure, he wasn’t going to get it right, but of all the things his brain decided to write that? Seriously?
  Kim finally stopped and took in a breath, smiling.
“You’re only 15, right? That’s… 8 years. Wow. I don’t think that’s legal.”
  “Wait, what are you talking about?”
“You don’t need to worry. Alright, I think it’s time for you to go back home. Tell your parents that I need you for another session next Tuesday- if that works with you.”
Sean nodded and swung his bag across his shoulder, eager to leave the classroom along with his embarrassment from the situation before.
  “Oh, before you leave, one more thing.”
Kim stood up from his seat and his face hardened with seriousness.
 “I won’t tell the girls what you wrote.”
  Sean laughed and nodded.
“Okay then.”
  …………………………………………………………….
Days had passed since the incident, and now it was Tuesday. Minkyu’s year 9 class was just starting, and the group of fangirls were walking in.
“Hi Mr. Kang~” Alissia, the leader of the group drawled.
“Good afternoon students. I hope you have all studied for today’s test.” Kim glanced at the girls.
“Especially you 5.”
The girls giggled and looked at each other, blushing.
Sean sighed and rolled his eyes.
  “Hey, Sean. Can you pass the stack of papers?”
Alissia fluttered her eyes at the boy, smiling sweetly.
  “Sure.”
He had a bad feeling about this.
  Alissia reached out to the papers and Sean dropped them down. She smirked at him for a second, and then took her hands out and instead stuck her foot out beneath the pile.
“Alissia! Your foo-“
  “OWWWWWW!”
The entire class spun around to see Alissia screaming in pain as the stack slammed onto her foot.
  “S-SEAN! Why would you drop that on my foot?!”
“I didn’t! You stuck it out!”
  A blonde haired girl who was Alissia’s friend raised her arm up and blurted out a passage of lies.
“Mr. Kang! Sean purposely did it! I swear, I saw him throw it onto Alissia’s foot!”
  The blonde exchanged a grin with Alissia.
  Kim looked at Sean.
“Eason. Is this true?”
  “No! Of course not!”
  “I’ll talk to you after class. For now, let’s just go onto our textbook exercises.”
…………………………………………………………….
Half an hour into the lesson, a note was thrown onto Sean’s desk. He looked around, but couldn’t tell who’d done it. He cautiously opened it up and began to read.
  ‘Look, we all know that you’re not rich enough for this school. You barely survive on a scholarship. But seducing Mr. Kang? You really are poor to the point of this. Anyways, good luck trying to get with him. You’re going to need it, looking like what you currently do.’
  Sean immediately knew the perpetrator. But she could do what she wanted, because it didn’t bother him. Nothing did. All he needed was good grades and one friend, and he was set for life. Relationships didn’t matter to him, and even if he did, he didn’t want someone 8 years older than him, much less someone the same gender.
  So he thought.

Tumblr media
( pS: also if my blog is too hard to read just stick /mobile on the end of the url xx )
background
the empress and emperor of korea had 5 kids, 4 daughters, 1 pampered son and evie was the second oldest daughter after dianna but like, she’s bossy and high strung and acts like the oldest anywayS so it doesn’t matter!
woo! however, korean tradition is rooted deeply in patriarchy and other backwards thinking,  >:(((( so evie’s parents basically pretended like their son was the only kid they had and sent evie and her 3 sisters off to swedish boarding school to ROT as they each turned 10 and forgot abt them while they groomed their son for the throne! thx mom n dad! luv u too! sdjlaksjd
during her time at boarding school evie was expected to not learn much of anything, not do anything spectacular, she wasn’t expected very good grades or to be smart or successful or anything bc that was Men’s Work and so evie did . . . THE EXACT OPPOSITE.
evie EXCELLED in school, straight a’s, top of her class, honors, ap valedictorian, which meant all nighters, nose bleeds at 2am from studying too hard, looking dead walking through the hallways, eating ramen 25/8, falling asleep w her face in her textbooks, getting bullied a lot for being a nerd and Not looking like her sisters and like...the creature from the black lagoon.
her parents, understandably, were not very happy with this but it wasn’t until she wanted to go to medical school that her parents were like FURIOUS. to them, women, esp the princesses, were only supposed to get married, have kids, THAT WAS IT. so evie wanting to be a doctor enraged them. STAY MAD!
they tried to have her engaged SO. MANY. TIMES. but she has a really repellent personality, she’s very kat stratford from 10 things i hate about you. and is rude and states her very liberal very socialist opinions often, dresses sloppy and hurts mens feelings a lot just for fun so they all went rUNNING from those match appointments! her parents literally are losing their minds they don’t know what to do w her theyre like god why did we give birth to the aNTICHRIST!?!?!?
not wanting anything to do with her parents, evie got into college and medical student on scholarship based on her own merit and skill. evie went to the seoul national university for 4 years then did a 2 year residency at the country’s top hospital, becoming one of the best on call heart surgeons there.
the korean media likes to clown on her A LOT! bc shes scary and angry and cares very little abt her appreance is A DOCTOR and not a princess really for the opposite reason they clown on dianna but evie does not really care she doesn’t care abt impressing people, just saving lives and proving people wrong. finger guns
but yes! thats what u missed on glee. evie was a heart surgeon in korea before being shipped off to thailand! shes v salty by the way ... even more than usual.
fun facts?
evie wears massive grandma glasses to see bc shes BLIND when shes in line with her sister people do not think she’s related and are like “OMG OMG THE PRINCESSES!!! BUY WHATEVER U WANT ON THE HOUSE I--oh? maam? uh? can we help u, ahjumma?” HELP
very dry, mean, will call you out on ur shit and hurt ur feelings probably. doesn’t really know how to Chill or have fun, stays out of drama and parties for the most part literally that old man that tells u to get off their lawn
LOVES HER SISTERS!!!! LOVES THEM!!! moms them and nags the FUCK out of them tho abt everything. wear a sweater its cold, drink water, dONT DO THAT GET DOWN FROM THERE, i told u to eat before u drank all that soju pabo!!!! skhaslkfh BUT SHE LOVES THEM VERY MUCH HER WOOOORLD the only people shes kind of nice to
as stated, has tried to been matched up before but has basically scared away all her matches by being A Lot and not polite or dainty and burping probably
her mom calls her all the time to talk abt how shes having a heart attack bc her second daughter is an unmarried, childless, spinster with a cat who is embarrassing her by being a doctor and being loud and obnoxious and outspoken against the royal heirarchy and right wing politics. evie just puts her on mute and lets her keeping yelling at no one for the next hour
loves beer, loves fried chicken, very unladylike, wears oversized sweaters and her hair messy and watches love island australia and the bachelor just to make fun of the people being in love and stupid i think secretly she kind of wants it but...thinks shes unlovable and will die before she says that shh
bisexual legend! cue mr and mrs yi screaming somewhere
not that it matters bc she cares little abt romance and sex and always put work and school before everything so everything touchy like that she either ends abruptly or stays the hell away from
never parties or goes out but when she does get really drunk gets very cute and touchy and happy there is one video on the internet of her like on a table ashdkh yikes
is soft deep down just like *shrek voice* donkey, orges are like onions they have layers and u gotta get past a lot of them for her to get past her level 4 tragic backstory and into the soft, vulnerable part of her personality its nice i promise she is SQUISHY

Pandemonium [2/3]
[Previous] [Next]
Fandom: Batman
Characters: Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, batfam appearances
Pairing: JayDami
Rated: T
Warnings: Damian is aged up, should be in college.
Summary:
In which Damian is way too oblivious and Jason suffers.
Read on AO3
A/N: So I haven’t picked up a DC comic since Damian died in Nu52 timeline. So everyone in the batfam follows pre-Nu52 here.
Tonight there was something off about the kid. They'd hit a dead end with their case yet again, but Robin was more annoyed to have that happen. Usually, he would be fine with calling it a night or go off to patrol on his own if it was early. Red Hood would often join him if the kid decided to stick around his part of the city. Even now, as Jason surveys the scene before him, it isn't very hard to see that the kid was using more force than necessary. More than necessary for Batman, not enough for Red Hood. But hey, he was trying to work within the limitations he was given. If Robin wants to break more bones than needed, then that was his prerogative.
However, with hours of fighting bad guys, Jason can tell Robin was going to run himself ragged. It was nearly two in the morning, and Red Hood had only jumped in to help once. Robin's stamina was impressive and his fighting was always exhilarating to watch, but even now, when the last baddie drops to the ground, Jason can tell that the kid was going to get hurt if he continued like this.
Any protests Robin gives him are ignored and only cease once they're in one of Batman's safe houses, one with a communal shower, and clothes and within walking distance of Jason's favorite diner in the city.
"I don't see any reason why we have to go out for food, Todd," Damian glowers across the booth at Jason
After the two of them had showered and changed, Jason had dragged the kid back out into the night for some grub.
"Can it, Babybat. I'm willing to bet if I had sent you on your way back to the manor, you'd be a lot worse than you are now."
Damian shakes his head, now glaring at his menu that was laying flat on his table. “I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself."
Jason sighs before taking a long, noisy sip of his milkshake. Damian takes the straw covering Jason had removed, and fiddles with it, eventually rolling it into a ball.
"Must you?" The kid growls.
The older man savors the taste of his milkshake, smacking his lips, "Must I what? Drink my shake like how I'm supposed to?"
Before the Damian could make a comeback, a shadow casts over them. “Decided on what you want to order, sonny?”
“Onion rings and French toast with extra powdered sugar. I also request an empty ketchup container with my food, thank you.” Damian’s tone is cold while he hands the menu to their server and then slouches against the window with his arms crossed, looking pensive as he looks out into the city night.
“Don’t mind him, Merv,” Jason says to the big guy, “Kid’s in a mood.”
The other guy chuckles, “No worries at all. I get all walks of life at this time. Believe it or not, your friend there is part of the better half.”
Jason raises his glass to him, “Well, you’re always good company.”
“You have to say that for the milkshakes.”
“Best in the city, Merv, best in the city. Better yet add two more shakes to the order."
Jason smiles brilliantly while their server walks away to get started on their order. His eyes slide back to his companion him study him. “Wanna know how I came across this place?”
“Not particularly.”
“It was sometime in the fall of the year I turned sixteen,” Jason continues, completely ignoring Damian’s snide answer, “after having one too many arguments with B, figured I needed more time to cool off.”
“Let me guess, you walked past and decided to come in for food?”
Jason taps his glass patiently, “Nope, now don’t interrupt story time. Anyways, I was getting into fights just like you were doing tonight, just not as Robin -all in civvies. Got into a nasty fight with one baddie in particular and we just so happened to be trading blows right outside of this place. Guy got ahold of me and actually threw me through the same window behind me.” His right-hand goes up to point a thumb at the booth behind him.
Damian’s eyes flicker past Jason’s shoulder with intrigue then looks back at him, sitting up straight.
“My arms were pretty cut up, this one especially,” Jason flexed the fingers of the same hand that he had used to point, “So I couldn’t get a good hit on the other guy, who was pretty much pummeling my face at that point. Hurt like a bitch, but I didn’t pass out. Merv was actually the one that pulled him off of me and turned him into the police. He was gonna hand me over too but saw that I was just a kid. So he sat me down at the counter, handed me a shake and patched my arms up. Turns out he worked medical during the Korean War.”
Damian, at that point, was giving Jason a skeptical look, “What about the window?”
“I got B to pay for it and hire some quick workers to replace it. Technically, he was the one responsible. Wouldn’t have broken that window if he wasn’t on my case about everything that night. I’d come in from time to time, help out Merv if the place was swamped with customers or help clean tables and sweep the floor, but eventually, it was the milkshakes that got me coming back.”
Merv comes back with their orders, setting Damian’s steaming plate of French toast before him and the onion rings next to it. The shakes come clinking in after, this time in front of Jason. “Enjoy,” he states before moving to a booth that had called him over.
Jason takes a meaningful sip as he watches Damian primly cut his French toast in strips with a fork and knife then reaches over to take the syrup container and pour its contents into the empty ketchup container he asked for. Jason’s eyebrows raise up when Damian takes a strip and starts dunking it.
Hmm.
Elbow on the table and chin in hand, Damian takes a bite.
“So, Bruce issues?”
The kid looks up at Jason with a blank expression as he chews.
“Look, as an experienced veteran of navigating through the complicated waters of your dad’s disapproval, it’s not that hard to figure out that he’s the source of all of your…this.” He gestures to all of Damian.
“That was quite...poetic of you, Todd, but if it’s all the same to you, I would prefer not to talk about it right this second.”
Jason holds up both hands in surrender with a bitter smile, “Hey I get it. I’m not Dick. Sometimes talking makes it worse if you’re not up for it. I’m just here to keep you company and for when you are ready to talk about it. In the meantime,” Jason slides one of the milkshakes across, “unwind and enjoy the food."
And for the rest of the night, they eat in comfortable silence. This was nice. Jason wouldn’t mind getting used to doing something like this on a more frequent basis. For the most part, living on his own left him craving companionship. It’s also why he had Kori and Roy as teammates. They were two of the most affectionate people he knew, aside from Dick.
From there his thoughts wander, how would they feel about him potentially being with Damian? Better yet how would they interact with the demon spawn overall. Now that would be a very interesting thing to witness.
xXx
It's been about two months, closing in on three, of them working together on this case and Jesus Lord Almighty, Jason was frustrated in every conceivable way. Yes, there is the never-ending sexual frustration -which he doesn't even want to delve into right now, lest he gives himself continual blue balls...again- but he's aware that this thing he had for Damian was going further than just sexual attraction. It's so bad that he's so close to swan diving off of one of the bridges in the city.
But no, that would be the easy way out, and while he was lazy for the most part, this wasn't something he was trying to half-ass. Especially with how fucking clueless Damian was with everything he's been doing. If Jason did anything subtle, it went over the kid's head.
Jason has to resort to his biggest move. Yeah, it’s gotten that bad. So here he was, on a slow day, and arms full of groceries, walking up the steps of the manor, per Alfred's request. He would reach down to get his own set of keys, but why struggle when the doorbell was a lot more accessible.
Jason didn't have to wait long for the door to open, and who was at the door but none other than the owner of the manor.
"Jason?"
The look of surprise on Bruce's face was something the younger man appreciated. There were a few things that could take Bruce Wayne by surprise, and even less for Batman.
"Uh yeah, just here to..." Jason fumbles over the next few words in his head.
To get your son to like me by cooking him his favorite foods so that hopefully I can get in his pants?
"Get a few recipes off of Alfred," he finishes slowly.
Bruce's face relaxes back into neutral and holds the door a bit wider so Jason can enter. Half of the bags are taken from his arms as Bruce shuts the door, and they make their way to the kitchen.
Bruce hums in reply, "How's the case going? Damian hasn't said much on it."
"Because there isn't much to say to be honest. We're looking into any leads we come across along with stakeouts on their warehouse." Which was true, yeah they have the location for drug storage, but they weren't searching for the drugs. It was the child trafficking Jason was trying to put a stop to. Old habits of some of the criminals on his side had resurfaced while Jason was away. Five months of operation may not seem like much, but that's still one too many kids out there.
Bruce nods as they enter the kitchen and places the food on the island, which Jason copies. Then they just kinda stand there, the air turning awkward. Jason's skin starts to crawl from the way Bruce is not so secretly studying him. While their relationship may have gotten better, this stagnant air between them would always be the norm when they weren't talking about something related to crime fighting.
"Hey, I'll be making enough for everyone in the manor, probably even more than that. So you can let the others know if you want." There, now he can claim that he tried.
Jason would be lying if he said he wasn't blinded by Bruce's sudden smile. And just like that, Jason was brought back to the more happier times of his teenhood. Jason wasn’t an exception to the need for approval from Bruce Wayne. There was a reason why once you’re a part of the batfam, no one can never really leave. You become hooked and once you're flying high on it, he can take it all away for weeks, even months. However, another result is actually leaving for a time. Dick, Jason (obviously), Tim, Cass, and Steph, even Babs. They had all left at some point, but even from those breaks, the wash of Bruce’s approval was imprinted. Jason had fought that instinct for so hard and so long that all his relationships would never go back to what they were. Eventually, everyone comes back to try and coexist with it.
It was only a matter of time before Damian had to pass through the final leg of this long endured initiation into the batfam. But to Jason, he hopes that the kid can maintain this somewhat decent relationship with his father.
“The last time everyone was here for a family dinner was Thanksgiving three years ago.”
Jason’s eyebrows raise, “Everyone?”
Bruce nods confidently, “Barbara is visiting, Stephanie is back for spring break, and Cassandra -as I’m sure you’re aware- has moved back almost half a year ago.”
“Oh wow, full house tonight.”
The older man looks wistful. Jason watches Bruce get that far off look, where he can only imagine how Bruce’s ideal family dinner unfolds. Thankfully, Alfred chooses that exact time to push through the kitchen’s swinging door.
“Well then,” Bruce clears his throat, broken out of his reverie, “I guess I better tell everyone else to stay for dinner.”
“Splendid idea, sir,” Alfred responds smoothly then turns to Jason as soon as Bruce leaves the room. “I’ve taken the liberty of pulling out the recipes we shall be using tonight. Although, I do have to say this may be a bit…much.”
Alfred pulls out a stack of index cards from his coat pocket with an amused look. Jason whistles, “The kid likes to eat.”
Alfred places the stack on the island, “To be fair, Master Jason, you did say all the food he likes. That is a very broad guideline to go by.”
The younger man grins and starts to take everything out of their bags. “Would it help if I said his favorites then?”
Alfred taps the pile thoughtfully, “That does cut this down considerably…."
Jason stops moving and steals a glance at Alfred who was studying him. He was somewhat prepared for the questioning that may have come with the request, he just wasn’t prepared for it this early. He was hoping that he would be busy prepping at least.
“Is there a particular reason why we are only cooking food palatable to Master Damian?”
“Not really.” Yes, yes he is very aware just how higher pitched that sounded.
Alfred lifts an amused eyebrow at Jason, but the younger man does not budge. A moment of silence later and the butler concedes with a sigh, “Very well then, Master Jason. Shall we get started?”
xXx
Jason had to say that this dish was the most unique thing he’s ever attempted. This was apparently Damian’s favorite by far, and the whole recipe was copied down word for word straight from the kid’s mouth. And according to Alfred, that was from the first night Damian started living with them. Oxblood was something he never would have expected to cook in his lifetime. However, the smell was pretty appetizing.
That was one conversation he attempted with Damian on one of their nights together. Considering that the kid had gone vegetarian, was he going so far as to go vegan? The answer had been that the kid was not opposed to eating meat if they were killed humanely and all body parts were used, but considering that this was a hard thing to keep track for each and every animal, vegetarian was the easier option for now.
When I was younger, mother had a specialty soup made with oxblood.  Thankfully, Pennyworth has a source where the animals are not killed for it.
So like donating blood to eat, interesting. What about lab-grown meat?
-Tt- I've tried the impossible burger. If they make lab-grown meat without it tasting like liver, then I will consider it an option.
He gives the stew one final stir and then covers it to let it simmer. He sidesteps to the setup beside the stove and picks up where he left off. Alfred had left him to deal with the manor’s laundry. Considering that the manor was almost at full capacity, it would be a while before the butler came back. But before Jason could get lost in the motions of making dolmas, there was some commotion outside one of the two doors to the kitchen.
“Alfred is definitely cooking up a feast. I wonder why-”
The door swings open and in walk Dick, Tim, and Cassandra, with Dick and Tim freezing at the sight of Jason standing there surrounded by steam, hands full of lab-grown meat filling, and covered in an almost frilly apron. For a moment, he freezes too. Of course, Bruce had said everyone was here, but another thing he did not mentally prepare for was actually interacting with his siblings until dinner.
“Not Alfred,” the second eldest in the room states and sidles up comfortably next to Jason. That wasn’t much to go by since they were about the same age anyway. She uncovers the oxblood soup and basks in the smell before she takes up stirring.
Tim is the first of the other two men to unfreeze, inspecting Jason’s handwork while walking up to the island.
“Soooo,” Tim drags that word on for a bit, “what’s the occasion?”
Jason, without missing a beat, places his finished dolma onto the forming stack located slightly to the left. “You don’t gotta worry your head about that.”
He hopes that he looks at least collected on the outside, but his nervousness rises as he watches Tim look around, studying all the food that Jason had made or was preparing. It wouldn’t be long before he figured out what Jason was doing, and he curses the kid for it.
Dick, the last to recover, follows Tim and sits at one of the bar stools opposite of Jason and Cassandra.
“It’s sort of a big deal when it’s you that’s cooking, Jay,” Dick says, reaching over to pluck one of the piping hot potstickers out from the steam basket.
“Hah!… Hah,” Dick breathes through his mouth while he fans at his face.
Tim nods in agreement, ignoring Dick’s sounds of pain. “This all seems to be Dami-”
Jason coughs loudly, catching Cassandra’s small smile of amusement. She’d probably already deduced it too.
“Maybe I just got tired of the taste of beer and ramen every night,” he spouts, then directs his gaze to the woman standing next to him who had taken a spoon to taste the soup, “Cass had the right idea, you guys could make yourselves useful and help me out with these. Ah, except you Dickie-bird, you’re fine right there. Just don’t eat everything.”
Tim shrugs, not objecting before he washes his hands and takes one of the wooden cutting boards from a shelf. The smaller man situates himself on the other side of Jason, who had rearranged the station so the growing pile of dolmas, the grape leaves, and the filling were between them.
“And why can’t I help?” Dick whines, once he manages to swallow a bit of the food in his mouth.
“Because you burn what you cook.” Jason doesn’t hold back the laugh that comes tumbling out of his mouth. Cassandra’s childlike bluntness always took him by surprise while Dick’s pout was just the additional cherry on top. The eldest takes another and suffers through the burning sensation, much to everyone's amusement.
"You remember that Damian is vegetarian right?" He says once he's able to talk again.
"It's made in a lab."
"No kidding?" Dick holds it up into the light like it was a diamond to inspect it, "It tastes like it's real pork. He's okay with that?"
Jason shrugs, "I mean technically, it still is pork. As long as it doesn't taste like liver, he should be cool with it."
And then Jason shows Tim how to prepare one before they fall into an easy silence. He had made about five different dishes for tonight, with this batch being the last of it. The thing was he had already steamed a lot that the leftover ingredients were for him to take home and prepare for himself and a few for Alfred to make at a later date.
After about half an hour of Dick eating half a dozen potstickers, Cass sampling the other dishes, and Tim obsessively making sure that the grape leaves were secure (Jason has to admit that the atmosphere was actually really pleasant), he sees a flash of light across the room followed by the distinct sound of a shutter flash.
Whispers and giggling coming from the other side of the door before the culprits burst through. Barbara wheels herself in followed by a grinning Stephanie Brown, her wrist flicking in the air as she fans the polaroid she just took.
Jason rolls his eyes. “Just need the two actual Waynes in here and then it’ll be a true reunion.”
“It’s a sight to see when Jason is the one that’s cooking. What would be even better is if Dick actually manages to make something without ruining it that isn't cereal,” Barbara teases.
“Ouch, Babs.” Dick gives her a weak smile.
“Well,” Stephanie singsongs, coming around to be beside Cassandra to hip bump the other woman, “she ain’t wrong there, Dick.”
Dick grabs one of the cooled potstickers he had plucked out and handed it over to Barbara, which she takes thankfully. “Alright, that’s three against three.”
“Actually,” Tim cuts in, “make that four.”
Jason nods, “Five.”
“Aw, screw all of you,” Dick shoots back without malice.
Stephanie frowns at the pot in front of Cassandra. “Uh, Jay, you do know that Damian and Cass are the only ones that really eat this, right?”
“No worries, there’s plenty of other food.”
“Yeah about that,” Tim starts.
“-all of this stuff is what Dami likes to eat,” Stephanie interjects.
Jason goes still, avoiding eye-contact with all of his bat-siblings, then rolls his eyes upward and counts the tiny speckles on the ceiling tiles. The underlings of the Greatest Detective in the world...of course, one of them was bound to say it out loud. His skin really starts to itch from everyone's eyes on him. Once he finally gathers the nerve to look around, the range of expectant faces overwhelms him and he feels his face start to heat up. Gone were the familiar conflicting emotions on some of their faces, which made his chest tight from giddiness?
Welp, that was new.
“You guys could set the table,” he grits out.
None of them move, much less say anything. And fuck, Jason knows he can’t avoid not talking.
“This is to say thanks for helping out with the case we’ve been working on.” Even now it sounds really weak to his ears.
Babs crosses her arms under her chest and gives him a pointed look over her glasses, “There’s gotta be more than that, or else you’d have been cooking our favorite meals for ALL of us for a while now.”
“Yeah, last I checked, I didn’t get a homemade meal courtesy of the Red Hood-” Stephanie gasps and clasps her hands to her mouth, eyes comically going wide at Jason. The raven-haired beauty between her and Jason gives an imperceptible nod, while Tim’s grin grows sharp within Jason’s peripheral.
Jason swears and wipes his hands on his apron roughly. He turns around to get the pot he used earlier and turns back with a not so subtle bang on the counter to Dick and Barbara leaning in a lot closer than before, unflinching at the sound.
“Why can’t you guys mind your own damned business?” He puts the prepped dolmas into the pot none too gently.
Dick has his head in his hands, staring intently at Jason. “The only time I’ve ever seen you cook food was for that one girl that came over for dinner when you were a sophomore in high school.”
Babs glances over at Dick with curiosity while Tim finishes his last roll and pops it in next to the one that Jason put, deftly avoiding Jason's jerky movements.
“If I remember correctly, you had this huge crush on her and wanted to impress her with your cooking,” Dick furrows his brows in thought, “but that wouldn’t be right. You don’t like Damian, and you certainly don’t have a…crush…on Damian.”
Dick pauses, then lifts his head off of his hands, locking eyes with Jason, and then straightens in such a way that you'd know he'd been around speedsters for a certain amount of time. “Unless you do have a crush on Damian.”
Jason tries to keep his face neutral, but his silence was answer enough for the rest of them. The air gets thick before all chaos breaks loose. The barrage of voices came from all sides of the room.
“Oh My God, you like Damian?!” “How long have you liked him?” “It was pretty obvious.” “Called it.”
Jason places a plate on top of the food in the pot before he fills it with water. “I do not confirm nor deny having a crush -of all things- on the demon spawn.”
Stephanie pushes away from the island and points at Jason in accusation with the corner of the Polaroid, the picture half-formed, “Oh you so do.”
“There’s no hiding it, Jason.” If Tim’s grin got anymore sharper, Jason could probably use it to chop more vegetables. Jason chuckles at the thought of banging Tim's head on the counter repeatedly but stops when he sees that Dick has not budged at all.
“You,” Dick emphasizes by holding his hands out towards Jason, then he moves them to the side, lost in thought, “and Damian.”
Barbara adjusts her glasses and gives Jason a rueful smile, “Odd pairing, but it makes sense.”
“Right? Your immediate reaction would be like ‘Woah!’ but then if you think about it, they would be good for each other.” Stephanie says with animated hands.
“Fuck. Me.” Jason mutters under his breath.
“Nah, Damian could do that,” Tim counters.
“Or Jason to Damian,” Cassandra adds.
This time Jason snatches a clean towel from the counter and hides his face in it, knowing that it was way beyond the suitable normal color of pale. He hears the loud, ringing smack of a high five behind him, followed by loud giggling from the two.
"I swear, I will shoot each and every one of you in the foot.” Was his towel lessening the threat? Yeah, but it was a better option than looking at any of them at the moment. Then hears a snort from Barbara.
Ah crap,
Poor choice of words, but she was always a good sport when it came to her injury. If there was one thing she was fond of with Jason, it was his anger towards the one that caused them the most hurt. He-who-must-not-be-named, if you will. Yeah, he took that from Harry Potter. Voldemort wasn't the only unspeakable name.
“Is there a reason to be this loud?”
The only person -or well, one of the two people who would have made the situation much worse had stepped in.
“Nothing, no reason at all,” Barbara responds way too quickly for Jason's liking, “Cass, Steph, why don’t you guys help me set the table. Better yet, you two too.”
“Todd?”
Jason sighs and lowers his arms to the sight of the other batsiblings filing out with plates and cutlery, which had been set there by Alfred. They were all abnormally silent but each one of them with shit-eating grins. His gaze slides to Damian whose head was tilted in a questioning manner as his eyes sweep over the scene before him.
“Uh, hey, Damian.”
“What’s all this?”
Jason replaces the pot of oxblood with the pot full of dolmas. “I was getting tired of the taste of my usual recipes,” Jason does a one-shoulder shrug, ignoring the heat of his probably red face, “I figured that since I was here, I may as well cook for everyone.”
The kid’s face was really unreadable.
“With Alfred’s help…of course,” he adds.
Jason’s breath hitches when Damian comes around to his side, peering at what was on the stove. The kid was close enough that Jason could smell what hair product and body soap he had used. It wafts and mixes with the other scents in the kitchen.
While most cologne would counter the scents of the kitchen, the smell of lemongrass is fitting with the smells of the Asian dishes that Jason had cooked up. Jason starts to drown from the kid's presence, his smell, the water droplets that dripped from his hair and trickled down his neck. He gets lost at the thought of following those water trails with his tongue but snaps back to Earth when he hears Damian's voice.
“I doubt you would have much of a taste for seonjiguk.”
“While I do go for the more traditional chili dogs and pizza, I’m not opposed to trying new food.”
Damian hums absently, then reaches down to take the spoon that Cassandra had used to sample the soup with and dips it into the pot to taste. He would have warned the kid about the used spoon, but one, he was still nervous with the kid's close proximity, and two, all of them have shared food with one another that sharing germs wasn't much of a concern anyway. However, he was envious that Cassandra had just shared an indirect kiss with Damian.
Jason balks at the ridiculousness of that thought. Indirect kiss? What was he ten?
"This," the kid starts thoughtfully with a fond smile, "tastes the closest to my mother's."
"I uh-," Jason clears his throat, "made sure to go to Alfred's place so it's ethically to your standards. All the other dishes that have meat in them actually contain lab-grown meat. So those are also ethically safe."
Damian reaches across to get one of the leftover potstickers that Dick left out to cool. Unlike the eldest Robin, he takes a bite into it rather than stuffing the whole thing in his mouth, and Jason almost groans at the sight of the younger man’s lips wrapping around the appetizer. There was a light glistening on Damian’s upper lip from the grease of the filling, and Jason goes cross-eyed when he sees Damian’s tongue follow the trail. It seems his eyes have been doing that every time the kid was around.
Damian takes no notice in Jason's discomfort as he savors the taste with his eyes closed. With each methodical chew, the kid’s face softens.
“Decent.”
“Thanks,” Jason gulps. Two compliments in a row. Jason feels his pride wash over him and his pants go tight until he hunches over in hopes that his pants aren’t tenting that much. God, is the addictive nature of Bruce Wayne’s approval genetic? It had already been a confusing time for Jason and his hormones when he was Robin, but getting turned on from praising words from Damian Wayne?
“Why don’t you help me take the food out to the table?” He suggests, ignoring how gruff his voice sounds.
Damian’s eyes open and it feels like the kid already knows what’s going on, and Jason’s breath catches in his throat.
“You made rice, yes?”
Jason deflates and then snorts, “After the rant that you and Cassandra gave. How could I not remember to?”
Damian nods with no joke. “Good.” Then he takes one of the plates and heads out of the kitchen. Jason sighs and shakes his head then takes deep breaths, trying to calm his beating heart. He knew it was pathetic, but there wasn’t much else to do other than bulldoze forward. And he thought he did pretty well with bulldozing since the kid should have definitely caught wind of Jason’s interest. It was pretty obvious.
He walks around and picks up the sweet and sour eggplant dish.
Maybe he'll see after this family dinner.
xXx
How?! How the fucking how? Three fucking days and not one word, not one inclination that Damian was aware. Hell if he did something obvious, the kid would still not notice. At this rate, he would probably have to kiss the kid to get his feelings across.
The dinner had been torturous, the constant teasing from everyone while Bruce and Damian were oblivious as to why. Well, maybe even then Bruce caught on, but Jason didn’t want to even think about that possibility. The focus was on Damian and this case of course. He can face daddy’s wrath once he gets the kid. And even then that was a very small chance.
But now that all of them knew, they went out of their ways to bring it up as much as possible. Even earlier this evening, he had received several texts within the batkids family chat, with all but Damian in there.
“Hey,” he starts, still laying on his back on the rooftop ledge, even now he knows that his phone is getting messages from the chat. Hell, there probably was a comm-link opened with them plotting several different ways to take him down with embarrassment via his attraction for Damian.
“You ever just think about not being in the gig anymore?”
Robin lowers his binoculars and places the mask in his direction.
“Not at all.”
Jason sits up slowly and pops his back before picking up his cigarette again. "That's gotta be a lie.”
Robin’s lip purse in the thought, then softly, “I was created for this. It is all I’ve known.”
Jason notices the kid's choice of words. Created...not born...
“Come on, Babybat. You have to have some frustrations with being Robin.”
Damian’s cheeks twinge with movement before he turns back to face the warehouse.
“Frustrations, yes, but none that I cannot deal with on my own. They have been new…relatively speaking.”
New frustrations for the kid?
Jason takes in Robin’s frame and notes all the tiny clues: stuttering breathing, rapidly beating pulse and avoiding eye contact. The kid was embarrassed.
Oh.
OH.
Jason swallows with difficulty. “Everyone gets that at one point or another on patrol. Best is to just find release before you start swinging again.”
“I do,” the kid admits quietly.
Oh okay, so he could not breathe properly. Jason can only hear the blood rushing through his veins. And it’s a while before Jason can even utter another word. Maybe now would be the best time? Maybe not? God, would it be creepy if he did?
Fuck it.
“So, I’m just gonna go ahead and say it,” Jason curses under his breath before continuing, and what comes out is just babbling words. “I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now, and it’s like you’re not noticing what exactly I’m doing. It’s obvious, so obvious that everyone else knows. I mean I cooked a dinner of your favorite foods. How is that not hint enough for you? But for Superman’s cape, which mating dance do I have to do for you to realize that I like you?!”
He’ll admit, he does sound hysterical near towards the end there. His chest heaves with the exertion of finally telling the brat outright.
Robin directs his gaze back at Jason. “-Tt- Of course, you like me.”
His mouth drops open, speechless. Wow, that was said so simply. As if it was the most obvious thing. He had to hold back a laugh, a laugh he would have no control over. Oh, it was over! Now was just to wait for the kid’s acceptance or rejection, and if Jason were at all honest with himself, he'd take either option. They were a lot better than Jason continuously up in feelings limbo.
Robin’s lips stretch into a fond, close-lipped smile. “We are partners after all.”
The shock is instant. Jason isn’t sure how the kid could be this clueless. Then the too familiar act of free falling towards the dirty street flows around him. Jason's instincts kick in, with his hands reaching for his grappling gun before shooting it in a random direction. His body flips once more and then jerks with the sudden change of momentum. The gun reels him in, only for Jason to realize that the warehouse was coming in way too quickly, and he struggles to get his other grappling gun to shoot.
BANG
Thank god for the fucking helmet, is his first thought, but then it’s quickly overpowered by a sharp pain in his left shin. While there was a bang from his helmet connecting with the long windows of the warehouse, he vaguely recalls that it was one of his legs connecting with the ledge first. There’s no way he can move right now, however, he feels his arm lifting then a smaller body presses up against his side. Jason feels an arm wrap around his torso before they’re moving upwards.
His eyes closed and all he can just focus on is breathing through the blooming pain. It may also be the growing paranoia, but he thinks his leg is swinging in a place that should not be swinging. Just from that, it takes all his might not to throw up in his helmet.
It was always a bitch to clean whenever that happens.
Pretty soon they land, none too gently, a good 50 rooftops away from their location. The kid was fast on the line.
Jason throws off his helmet and falls onto his palms, leaving no weight on his injured leg, before he starts throwing up. While his pain tolerance was fairly high, unexpectedly (potentially) breaking his bones can get him to upheave his dinner.
Through his retching, Jason hears Robin tsk in disgust beside him. “I did not take you for an easy fainter, 'Hood.”
Jason spits away the bitter taste left in his mouth when his body stops, then wipes away any bile from his lips before he scowls up at Robin. “I didn't faint,” he grits out, maneuvering himself until he’s sitting and blinks away the involuntary tears that come from throwing up.
Robin’s expression screws up in concern, then he crouches down, reaching out for the older man’s leg.
“Don’t touch,” Jason snaps.
The kid frowns, dropping his hand, but keeps crouched next to Jason. “Don’t be even more of an idiot, Red Hood, it may be broken.”
“Oh,” Jason chuckles darkly, “more of an idiot?”
“Yes,” Robin stresses, “your carelessness alerted them of our presence.”
The older vigilante sucks in a breath. Then struggles to his feet, favoring one leg over the other. He notices that Robin stands up with him, but doesn’t try to reach out to help him again. Instead, the kid opts for crossing his arms over his chest.
“I’m heading home.”
Robin nods once, “I suppose it would be best to call it a night. Do…Do you need assistance returning home?”
“No, the idiot can manage just fine, thanks.” Jason knows his sarcasm is scathing right now, but he couldn’t care less, even when the kid straight up scowls at him.
“Fine,” Robin responds icily. Then doesn’t wait for Jason to be the first one to leave.
Once Jason is sure that he’s gone, he spends a good minute cursing loudly up at the sky. Of all the outcomes that could have happened, it was just his luck that it would be something like this.
xXx
He could say he is ashamed of how he’s been. After that disastrous confession that made him feel like he was in middle school again and almost breaking his leg, which would have left him out of commission for a good two months -thank god that wasn’t the case, just a very ugly bruise that took up half of his leg- he had not seen the kid since. His phone had been blowing up within the chat group, but instead of light teasing, there were concerned messages all around. After that night, Jason’s mood wasn’t the only one that had turned sour. Sure it may be a petty thing, but it did lighten Jason’s mood knowing that the kid was bothered too.
But after some coaxing from Roy and Kori, Jason had finally mustered up the will to get changed and went to where the kid had texted to meet him. Since this was in a place with a lot of foot traffic, it would have brought them more attention if Jason went out as Red Hood. The kid was probably out undercover too.
Jason rolls his shoulders under the jacket he had chosen for tonight. He muses that this was a jacket he had gotten before his trip to space. Oh well, it’s not like he’s strapped for cash anyway. He makes a mental note to go to proper clothes shopping.
Just then he feels the full force of someone trying to barrel him over. His hands reach up to steady the person and himself. Damian’s scent is what he registers first before he looks down at Damian’s annoyed glare.
Before Damian could say anything, sounds of heavy running came from around the corner. The kid pulls both of them into an alley next to them. It was a bit too forceful of a pull since Damian’s head hits the brick wall hard enough to make his teeth chatter.
The sounds of footsteps get louder.
Damian’s eyes flitter over Jason’s shoulder then zing right back, wide with panic. “Kiss me.”
“What?” Jason blurts out, which gets Damian to roll his eyes before he grips Jason’s shoulders with both hands and pulls him in until Jason feels the surprising softness of Damian’s lips.
Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Oh fuck.
The kiss wasn’t even a kiss by Jason’s standards, it was purely the basic definition of the act. Lips touching lips. And once Jason realized that his eyes shut close from the pure bliss he was enjoying. It was scary that all the worry and bad juju feelings he had for the past week all seems to evaporate. Nonetheless, he lets himself get lost and unconsciously initiates more of the kiss.
The older man hunches over Damian, unconsciously putting all of his weight against the kid, who doesn’t protest at all. This was all too much and happening too fast for Jason’s mind to keep up. The scent of lemongrass and herbs ropes around Jason, binding him that closer to Damian. With every breath he takes through his nose, he gets even more lost. The flat hand above Damian’s head adjusts so Jason’s weight was on his forearm instead, allowing him to completely cover Damian’s body with his own.
Once he’s situated better, Jason angles his head then slowly deepens the kiss. He almost stops when Damian moves underneath him, feeling lithe hands grab fistfuls of his shirt. The anticipation, the expectation of being pushed away, it levels Jason from the weightlessness that is quickly spreading throughout his body. But it never comes. Instead, the kid tentatively kisses back.
Jason knows he’s shaking from the adrenaline. Not like he cares at the moment though. Especially when he can reach up to cup the kid’s neck and jaw. Damian goes rigid for a second, most likely the fighting instincts preparing to attack back, but Jason caresses the kid’s cheek with his thumb.
God, it’s so fucking smooth. If given the chance, Jason could probably keep stroking that spot for hours.
Damian’s hands flatten to palms on Jason’s chest, then slide around Jason’s torso to pull Jason in until they are flush against each other.
Welp, there’s no hiding the erection now.
The kiss is suddenly broken, with Jason following after the kid’s lips for a split second. He inwardly groans. Not opening his eyes at all, he rests his forehead on the hand against the wall. Damian’s ear is right next to mouth, so he’s aware the kid can hear his ragged breathing.
“I believe they are gone now. They saw me around the entrance, hence why I needed you to kiss me.”
Jason takes pleasure in the fact that Damian’s voice was husky.
Wahid
Talatha
“Todd?”
“Give me a moment, Babybat,” Jason whispers hoarsely, but his mind blanks when the kid shivers against him. So he starts again, out-loud this time.
“Wahid…talatha…khamsa…saba,” the older man trails off, wracking his currently putty-like brain for the next number.
“Ahad ashr.”
Jason startles out of his thoughts, then backs off a little to look at the kid. He was a sight that Jason appreciates: pupils dilated, eyelashes long and curling to frame the baby blues with one eye slightly closed from Jason’s thumb still stroking his cheekbone, face darker from the flush of his skin, and his lips full and plump. However delectable Damian looks in this exact moment, his face is neutral.
“You’re counting in prime numbers?” Jason nods. "Eleven is ahad ashr.”
“Oh, shukran.” May as well thank the kid in his language anyway.
Jason doesn’t want to pull away, especially not when Damian gives him a smile that makes his eyes crinkle at the corners. To his credit, Damian doesn’t seem to be making a move to push Jason away either, just that his arms drop from the older man’s body.
“Do…do we have to go after them?” His hand drops away to hang awkwardly at his side.
“No.”
It’s at that instant that the floaty, post-kiss air dissipates and Jason can see the kid remembering the last time they were together. He sighs but doesn’t take a step back just yet.
“Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t faint. I also didn’t mean to be an ass-“
Damian snorts and Jason glowers back at him, “I’m trying to fucking apologize here. Not like it was entirely my fault.”
The kid looks aghast. “I understand I was…difficult when I first came here but-“
“No. No. Nono. That’s not…” Jason sighs, “Do you remember what we were talking about before I fell off the roof?”
His face scrunches up in concentration, “We were discussing our mutual respect for each other.”
Jason sighs again, this time with his whole body, “Not exactly. I said I like you.”
“Right, which is necessary for two people to work together.”
“No, you dipshit." Jason gives the two of them more distance between by stepping back a few more steps and quickly continues before the kid starts swinging, “I like you, Damian…like you like how Bruce likes Selina."
So the thing with assassin babies, and their beaten in assassin training, was that when trying to process new information, they were good at maintaining a poker face. And Damian wouldn’t be Damian if he wasn’t doing that right now. To cope with the silence, Jason amuses himself with the thought that Damian’s head was record-scratching back to what he had just said and Damian’s brain melting from it.
The kid then starts to blink rapidly, getting Jason to think maybe he did break the little Wayne.
“So,” Damian starts quietly, so quiet that Jason strains his ears to hear, “that was what Grayson and the others were talking about."
"I don't know what they said to you exactly."
"All those looks and jokes they were making to each other. They knew. And I was the last to know?" Damian questions incredulously.
This time Jason bursts out laughing. It's a laugh mixed with hysteria, absolute amusement, and just a smidgen of relief. He brings his hands up to his face and presses his bare palms to his eyes and continues laughing for a good moment.
By the time Jason is calmer, he drops his arms back to his side to the view of Damian looking petulant. It was cute.
Jason can't even erase the grin on his face, making the kid's pout even deeper. "It's not like I was trying to hide it. I've been trying to tell you that I like you for a few weeks now."
That does nothing to stop Damian's sulking.
"I literally told you I liked you last week. I even specifically said I made dinner with your favorite foods, which I did. Considering that everyone caught on that all of those dishes were the food you like, we all would have thought you'd have caught on. But for the actual biological son of Batman, you can be incredibly dense."
Well, the sulk does turn into a scowl, and it's fitting. "Is that how you talk to someone you like?"
"Yes."
It's interesting to actually see the kid blush from embarrassment. "But...how? Why?"
This time Jason steps closer to Damian, forcing the kid to look up at him again. "Can't really explain how. Not now anyway. I don't want to scare you off with that info. But for the why?" Jason's tone is soft, "I think out of everyone I know, you've understood me best. Sometimes I get into those moods and you just understand that that happens, and you don't bug me about it. Not everything has to be talked about, not for every time anyway. Trying to explain to someone who hasn't been resurrected so violently like we have, that the violence and anger and frustration that we have is like telling B to go kill someone with a gun." He smiles wryly at that and the kid does too.
"Not to mention how much hotter you've gotten."
Damian rolls his eyes.
"Right, yeah, can't make you blush from compliments since you already know how attractive you are." Jason runs a hand through his hair in exasperation.
"Todd...Jason, I..." Jesus, Damian looks like he's constipated with his loss of words.
"Don't strain yourself," Jason responds in bemusement, then after a beat sigh, "Look, you don't have to answer me right away. I know you never really considered me or anyone for that matter-"
"Not true," Damian cuts in sharply, then his cheeks turn a few shades darker. "That is to say, it is not true that I have not considered you romantically, nor are you the only one. However, those few times were brief thoughts."
That brightens Jason's mood greatly. "Well, again, you don't have to answer right away."
The younger man nods, "I cannot make an immediate decision based solely on those few times."
"Right, but now that you actually know," Jason steps closer to Damian, bringing one arm above Damian's head to lean on the wall, almost getting as close as they were when they were kissing, "would it be okay to kiss you again? I was actually holding back before. I wanna give myself a more lasting impression, ya know?"
It's a lot easier to seduce someone when they actually know Jason's intentions, and with Damian, it is a lot more amusing. The kid was so caught off guard, having really only used his own charms and seduction as a means to achieve a goal. His lack of experience was endearing.
His other hand comes up to cup Damian's jaw again, and his breath hitches just the tiniest bit.
Jason, in his element now, leans down until his forehead touches Damian's, his hooded eyes boring into Damian's, as his thumb slowly caresses Damian's bottom lip, soft lip. God so soft.
The older man says nothing else, knowing that this slow seduction was working for him. He makes no other movements, just his thumb running over Damian's lip over and over.
This time when Damian says, "Kiss me, Todd," it's the barest of whispers.

Like Oh 2.0 - Study Session
Previous Chapter: Sleepover Word Count: 4,087 Summary: Serena and Melanie are having their own studying time, but things don’t go as well as they wanted to.
Like Oh 2.0 masterlist
and here’s chapter 11! also i actually did look up these phrases to be as accurate as possible. if there’s still some mistake, then do let me know. anyways, happy reading and kthxbai, Admin Lia~
"Zhè shì shén me?" Mark asked Serena in Mandarin of 'what is this' while holding a flashcard with '好吃' written on it. The duo were studying for an upcoming exam final for class at Serena's apartment two days after the sleepover. The two were using flashcards that Serena had made since the beginning of class to help her memorize better. "Hǎo, um hǎo chī?" Serena answered while Mark stalled a bit to tease her and finally answered with a bright smile. "Shì de!" "Finally." Serena let out in English with a relived breath. "I almost thought of something else." "Well this wouldn't be the first time, Zhōng Lǐ tóng xué." He smirked at her as she stuck her tongue out at him in response. "Hǎo dè, Yí Ēn tóng xué. Zhè shì shén me?" Serena held up a flashcard with '很高兴见到你' written on it for Mark to identify.
"Really?" Mark asked while giving her a judging look. "What?" Serena shrugged. "I swear I just randomly picked it up." Mark gave her another look, but answered with ease. "Hěn gāo xìng jiàn dào nǐ." "It's not nice to meet you." Serena muttered. "Don't be jealous." "Jerk and I'm not." "Yeah, you are. Because you called me a jerk." "No and shut up, Mark." Mark laughed before he picked up another flashcard and showed it to Serena as he spoke in Chinese again. "What is this?" Serena stared at the '手臂' card for a good fifteen seconds. "Wǒ bù zhī dào." She answered with a silent laugh. "You didn't even try." Mark scoffed and then gave her a judging look. "At least guess. Had this class for at least two months now." Serena sighed."Is it shǒu zhǐ?" "Bù. Close, but it's shǒu bì instead." He turned over the card for her to see.
"Ugh. I'm gonna fail, Mark." Serena groaned as she placed her head onto the kitchen table. "You're not going to fail, Serena." Mark consoled her. "You're actually not that bad." Serena turned to smile, but then frown after what he said afterwards. "You were horrible in the beginning. Very terrible. You suck so much that-" Serena sat back up and impulsively punched him on the shoulder. "Ow, what was that for?" Mark asked surprised as Serena has never really hit him before. "There was a bug on your shoulder." She lied as she smiled sweetly at him. "That's a lie." Mark narrowed his eyes at her, but continued to rubbed the sore spot. Serena grinned at him once more before returning her attention back to the study session like nothing had happened a second ago. "Let's move on to something else."
She went through her papers and found a few worksheets. "Ah, let's do conversations." By now the pain went away and Mark agreed, although he cautiously eyed the older woman. "Why do you wanna study on everything all at once, anyways?" The male asked as she turned to look at him. "Because I wanna get everything done and over with. Why do you always insist on working and studying with me when practically the whole class wants to work with you instead?" She countered as Mark grinned. "Because you actually do your work and don't constantly stare at me. Or ask questions about the other members." "Yeah, I wonder why." She sarcastically responded "Because I'm good looking." He wriggled his eyebrows. "I didn't take you as a vain person." "I'm not. That's what they think." "And again, I wonder why."
"Because I'm an idol." Mark simply replied. "Too bad they can't just chill." Serena gave him a sympathetic look. "Anyways, let's start." Serena began getting back on track as she asked when was his birthday. "Nǐ de shēng rì shì jǐ yuè jǐ hào?" "Wǒ de shēng rì shì jiǔ yuè sì hào. Nǐ de nē?" He asked her back. "Wǒ de shēng rì yê shì zài jiǔ yuè." "Zhēn de ma?" Mark asked surprised as he learned that Serena's birthday was also in September. "Shì de." She smiled at him as she revealed the date of her birthday. "Shì jiǔ yuè shí liù rì." "Nǐ jīn nián jǐ suì?" He asked to know her age. "Mì mì." Serena replied with her index finger near her lips in a 'shh' motion while Mark rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "Hǎo ba. Hǎo ba." "Wǒ jīn nián èr shí qī suì." Serena told him her age anyways with an indifferent shrug.
"Really? You look way younger than that." Mark switched to English. "You're not lying, right?" "No I'm not lying and I get that reaction a lot actually." Serena laughed. "But nope, I'm turning twenty-seven years old this year. Or well, twenty-eight in Korea's age thingy of sorts." Mark shook his head still not believing it. "Twenty-seven? Wow." "Yeah." "I thought you were like twenty-four or something." "No, that's my sister." "Wait, Melanie's twenty-four?" "Yeah in like two months after me. Why?" "I thought she was my age." "Why do you think that?" "Because she's younger than you and I thought you were twenty-four." Mark let out with a sheepish laugh. "Doesn't that make sense?" Serena laughed nodding. "Yeah, it does." Mark was about to say something else, but Serena interrupted him.
"Now, back to Chinese lessons." Serena shook her papers at him. "Stop speaking in English, Mark." "Wǒ xǐ huān shuō yīng yǔ." Mark countered as he told her he liked to speak English in Mandarin. "Bù xíng, Yí Ēn tóng xué. Bù xíng." Serena waved her finger at him in a playful scolding manner. "Shì de. Shì de!" Mark childishly answered back as he pushed her finger away from him. "Shì de, Zhōng Lǐ tóng xué. Shì de!" "So annoying." Serena muttered in English as Mark slightly glared at her. "What did you just say right now?" "Dunno." She answered in Korean while shrugging her shoulders and giving Mark an indifferent look continuing in Korean. "You're so not nice." "I am nice. You just think differently." Mark shot her a judging look as he shook his head. "You're so weird." "Glad to know." She smiled and then cast him a semi-serious expression. "Now will you leave me alone, Mark?"
Mark grinned. "No." Serena let out a defeated sigh. "At least I tried. Again." "You're not getting rid of me that easily, Serena." Mark ruffled her hair playfully as Serena moved out from under his touch and smacked his hands away. "Whoa, whoa, Mark. We're not that close, bro. You can't be doing that. I'm not one of your nieces, Mark. Or your group members." Serena fixed her hair. "Only I can mess up my own hair, okay?" Mark messed it up again. "Nah, it's fun this way." Serena smacked his hand away again and slightly fixed her hair again. "Stupid shit." She muttered under her breath as she tied her hair into a ponytail, but Mark had heard her and let out a chuckle. "So hostile." "No I'm not." "Yes, you are." He said as he batted at the ends of her ponytail. "This bish." Serena muttered as Mark laughed again.
The idol looked at their class notes and shoved everything away. "Let's take a break." He suggested while speaking in English as Serena eyed him. "Just so you can play with my Nintendo 64, no thanks." "Wait, you have a Nintendo 64?" "No. Neither do I have a PlayStation 2." "You have a PlayStation 2, too?" "Uh, no." Mark shot her a look. "You already gave yourself away. Twice." Serena groaned as she placed her head onto the kitchen table again. "I shouldn't have answered the door or the Skype call." Mark chuckled softly while playing with Serena's hair again. "Don't act like you hate me." "I don't have to act to hate you." "Wow." Serena turned her head to flash him a tired smile. "Anyways, I didn't bring a lot of games with me. Just the ones I usually play with. The others are all back home."
Mark stood up and stretched his limbs. "That's fine, Serena. Let's go play and take our break." Serena sat back up and stared up at him. "Mark, I think we should continue studying." "We will, Serena, it's just a mini break." Mark tried to reasoning with her. "C'mon. We've been studying for like three hours. We need a break to relax our brain or whatever." "It's been less than an hour, Mark." "Same difference. A break helps." "Work hard, play hard, right?" "Exactly. You know what's up. Now let's just rest our brain for a bit and play all those games you got for both the Nintendo 64 and the PlayStation 2." Serena groaned as she gave in while standing up and stretching her limbs. "Just don't cry when I kick your ass." "Yeah, right. I'm a pro." "We'll see."

Two hours later Mark and Serena were still playing video games when a knock sounded and Serena paused the game. "What? Why did you pause? I was about to go ham." Mark whined as Serena rolled her eyes. "Someone's at the door. Calm down." Serena made her way to the door and looked out at the peephole and saw three GOT7 members and she let out a sigh. "Is it bother Serena Day today or what?" She mumbled to herself as she opened the door. "Hey guys. What's up?" "Help us study for our English exam, please, noona." The trio begged as Serena looked at Yugyeom, Jinyoung, and Youngjae with a puzzled look. "Um, that's not until like two weeks from now." "Yeah, but don't you remember that we have a practice exam on Tuesday that will give us extra credit in place of our lowest test score?" Yugyeom asked as it dawned on Serena. "Oh, right, you do." "So will you help us?" "I guess. One's already here, so what's three more."
"Great!" Youngjae exclaimed happily as Serena allowed them into her apartment with a smile. The trio ended up playing video games with Mark while she went about to get her materials for the class. "I hope I have everything Ana gave me." Serena muttered after exiting her room and then making her way into Jeannie's room to grab the large white board she had along with all the dry erase markers. Serena returned to the living room with the items and placed them onto the floor before making her way towards Jasmine's room for the small table. "Please don't break this. This belongs to Minjae." She said as she returned back to the living room as the quartet nodded their heads. She gave them a firm look as the quartet responded. "Yes. We won't break the table." "Cool. Now let's begin. The game can wait."
The males groaned, but eventually sat at the table while Serena stood before them with her back to them. When she turned around she looked at Mark with a raised eyebrow. "What are you doing, Mark?" "Sitting in." "Why?" "Can I not?" "If you want." She looked at the other three. "Ready?" "Ready!" They announced excitedly as Serena chuckled while turning around to write a phrase on the white board. "What is your favorite food?" She read out loud in English while facing the idols again. "My favorite fo-" Serena interrupted Mark. "You don't need to answer, Mark." "Why not?" He asked with a slight frown. "I know English. I can help." "I know you do, but it's because you're not in the English class." "And your point is?" Serena eyed him. "Do you wanna teach the class instead, Mark?" "No." "Exactly."
"Anyways," Serena began again as she pointed at Jinyoung while calling him by his English name. "Justin, how about you answer this question first." "Ah," Jinyoung was startled to start first, but recovered instantly to answer confidently. "My favorite food is hamburger and pizza." "Good job,  Justin." Serena praised him while looking at Youngjae. "Elliot, your turn. How about you?" "Uh, um," Youngjae began to stuttered before answering. "My favorite food is, is not cucumbers." Serena chuckled as she nodded. "Yeah, you can answer that way too. Nice job. Chris?" Serena cast her eyes onto Yugyeom as he smiled brightly at her. "What is your favorite food?" "I like samgyupsal, bulgogi, kimbap, and chicken!" He answered easily as Jinyoung called him out on it. "You're supposed to answer it in English."
"What do you mean? It is in English. I also like choco shake." Yugyeom added with a confused look while Jinyoung explained. "You can't say samgyupsal. It's pork belly. Bulgogi is fire meat and kimbap is rolled seaweed rice." Serena intervened as she switched to Korean. "No, no, it's okay to answer with the Korean names for Korean foods, Jinyoung." She looked over at Yugyeom. "You can answer like that as well. It's okay. Everyone's answer is correct in their own way." Yugyeom smiled happily as he stuck his tongue out at Jinyoung who wanted to hit the younger male, but refrained from doing so. "Okay, next phrase!" Serena beamed at them as she put down the black marker she was using to use another color, but frownd when she couldn't find the cup that held the other markers? "Where did the markers go?"
"Mark has the markers!" Mark exclaimed with a loud laugh as he brought out the cup from behind him. "How did you take them?" "I'm a ninja cat." "No you're not. That's me. May I have them back, please." "No." "You act just like my niece and nephew." "I'm not that childish." "Whatever, kid. Just give back me my markers, please." Serena stated as she marched over to the group of four and took the cup away from Mark. "I honestly don't know why I tolerate you sometimes." Serena huffed as Mark continued to laugh at his enjoyment of messing around with the older woman. "Anyways," Serena calmed herself down. "Where can I...?" She said out loud while writing the incomplete sentence on the board before facing the idols again.
"Who would like to complete the sentence and come up here to write it?" She repeated the phrase. "Oh, me! I want to go first!" Youngjae happily exclaimed as he stood up and ran over to Serena taking the offered marker as he wrote beneath the phrase. "...play the piano?" He completed the sentence as Serena smiled at him before answering his question for fun. "You can play the piano at your company, Elliot." Youngjae laughed awkwardly as Serena patted his back with a smile. "Good job. Next?" Yugyeom jumped up next and took Youngjae's spot. "...meet Chris Brown?" Yugyeom asked once he finished writing as Serena chuckled. "I don't know, Chris. I don't really follow him." She then patted the tall male on the back as well. "But good job. Ne-Mark sit back down. Justin stand up please."
Mark grumbled as he did what he was told while Jinyoung stood up instead patting the older male on the shoulder with a comforting smile. "Okay, Justin, please complete the sentence." Jinyoung stared at the white board for a moment or two as he tried to think of something. "Um, can't think of anything, Justin?" "Oh, no, I have something." Jinyoung answered before releasing an embarrassed laugh. "I just don't know how to write it." "Just do your best." Serena encouraged him as Jinyoung cast the female his signature smile, but Serena saw a hint of mischievousness in it. "Okay." He answered as he finally completed the sentence with a smug look. "... sign about my pictures?" "Huh?" The others let out in confusion as Jinyoung cast Serena a secretive look. He sidled up to her to whisper for her only to hear.
"The pictures you took at the sleepover." He said in Korean as Serena's eyes widened at being found out while the rest of the boys screamed to be let in on the secret. "What is it?!" "It's nothing!" Serena barked at them and tried to control her tone a few seconds later. "You don't need to know about it." Serena wiped the white board clean and set it to the side with all the other materials while she stared at the quartet. "Okay, boys! Lessons over. Go home. Buh-bye!" She waved at them with a smile plastered onto her face while the males looked at her in puzzlement while her smile dissolved. "Um, like go home. Run along to your other members and manager or something." "BamBam and Jackson hyung are with Seunghoon hyung about a new schedule in less than two weeks from now." Jinyoung informed her.
"Jaebeom hyung left the apartment in a hurry before we came over here." Youngjae added. "He didn't say where though." "You four can still go back home." Serena smiled while Yugyeom frowned at her. "But wouldn't you be alone, Jyongri noona?" "No, I won't be." "Don't lie. You need company." Mark countered as Serena shot him a look. "I do not and I quite like being alone, Mark." "I understand you a lot, Jyongri noona, I really do." Jinyoung agreed as Serena nodded in agreement in his direction. "Right, Jinyoung." She then let out a sigh knowing full well how this was going to turn out. "Anyways, I don't think I can get rid of you guys so easily. You can play games until everyone returns home." "Yay!" The rest cheered happily while turning around to play with Serena's game consoles. "Kids. I swear."
~~~~~~~
Melanie was nervously hanging out in the library of Seoul National University after she had called Jaebeom about Kyungtae who had shown up to one of her group study session at a table on the campus after her final class of the day out of the blue. She didn't know how the guy knew she would be at that specific location, but Kyungtae ended up having an altercation with two of her group members which were both males. The males students were taken to the school's infirmary whereas Kyungtae was escorted off the school's campus by security. Before Kyungtae was escorted he told Melanie that he would be waiting for her at the entrance or maybe somewhere close by and that he'll message her for further details. It sent chills down her spine and she contacted Jaebeom as soon as possible about it.
Of course that didn't stop Kyungtae from trying to reach her as much as possible when she didn't answer his calls or his messages when he was escorted. Melanie didn't want to miss any of Jaebeom's calls or messages if he did try to reply back to her. After ten plus calls and over fifty plus messages Melanie just had enough and told Kyungtae to leave her alone and that she wasn't interested in him at all. The way Kyungtae reacted was too calm for her liking and Melanie wished she hadn't told the others that she'll be fine and would go home to her sister's place. Melanie debated on telling her friends, but they had plans and she didn't want to get in their way. She messaged Serena, but her sister hadn't responded at all. So the only person she could think of was Jaebeom and contacted the idol with hesitation.
The female wandered down the aisles in anticipation when she felt her hand phone vibrate within her hand and she brought it up to her face to see who the caller was. Melanie answered it immediately. "Jeffrey!" She said in a relieved tone as a smile spread across her face. "Glad to hear that you're doing good." Jaebeom chuckled. "Are you still at the library?" He asked a second later as he was waiting at the entrance and saw no sign of Kyungtae within the vicinity. "I'm at the entrance." "Is he still out there?" Melanie asked in almost a whisper, but Jaebum heard her. "No. I don't see him around." "Okay. I'm leaving the library right now." She notified him as she did just that. "I'll call again when I-" Jaebeom interrupted her. "No. Stay on the line so that I can also hear you as you make your way to me, noona." "Okay, JB."
They continued to talk as Melanie hurried along and cautiously looked over her shoulders and surroundings when she made her way to the school's entrance and spotted a disguised Jaebeom once she made out his silhouette when he wave at her. Neither of them hung up until they actually reached the other. "Hi." Melanie greeted the idol as she impulsive wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "Thank you so much, JB." She thanked him in a relieved tone as Jaebeom hugged her back awkwardly. "Um, you're welcome, Chaewon noona." Melanie pulled back to look at him. "Sorry about that, but it just felt nice to do that after what I've been feeling for like almost two hours now. "It's okay." Jaebeom smiled as she placed both of his hands onto her shoulders. "I'm just glad you're alright and safe."
He gave her a once over. "Kyungtae didn't do anything else after he was escorted off of the campus, right?" Melanie shook her head. "No, nothing else, JB. Nothing after I finally told him off, too." Jaebeom nodded as he gave her another once over. "Alright, noona, I'll give him a talk or have Taesuk hyung or Chulsoo hyung talk to Kyungtae about it instead. Those guys will be able to handle it better than me due to my schedules." "Thanks again, JB." Melanie thanked him again as Jaebeom squeezed her shoulders in reassurance. "You're welcome. Now, let's just get you back to Jyongri noona's place and I hope you'll tell her about all of this." "I will, JB. Don't worry, I'll definitely tell, unnie, and the others about it." Melanie told him as the two began making their way to the subway station.
"Have you eaten yet? Do you want to get anything to eat or drink?" Jaebeom asked a few seconds later as Melanie nodded her head. "Yes, please. That would be great because I haven't eaten anything since this morning." She admitted with a sheepish laugh. "I was also scared and lazy to get anything at the cafeteria once the incident occurred." Jaebeom gave her a small smile. "We can stop by somewhere on the way." "Great. It would helped settled out the other nerves, too." Jaebeom glanced at her in concern. "Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?" "I'm sure I'll be fine, JB. If not, then I'll just call you so you can sing me to sleep." Melanie chuckled as Jaebeom broke into a soft smile "That wouldn't be such a bad idea if you need it." "Then I'll keep that in mind if I can't fall asleep."
The female sighed as the male glanced at her. "What's up?" "We weren't able to review our notes for the upcoming exams." Melanie admitted as Jaebeom chuckled. "What are you laughing at?" "It's nothing. Sorry. But um," Jaebeom let out a small cough. "How about I help you out?" "Do you know anything about business administration?" "Nope, not a thing. But I can read and asked you questions about them." "True." "So is that a yes or no?" "Let me think about it and I'll get back to you." Jaebeom rolled his eyes, but nodded. "Alright. Just let me know." "Will do, Jeffrey." Jaebeom eyed the female who cast him a large grin. "You know you like the name, too, or you wouldn't have chosen it." "I'm not saying anything." "You don't have to because I don't care anyways." "Wow." "Just kidding." "Sure you are."
Jaebum and Melanie boarded the Seoul National University Station on Line 2 and left Gwanak, stopped by at a burger joint in Seocho, and then finally arrived in Gangnam at the Cheongdam Station. When they made it to Serena's apartment Melanie invited Jaebeom inside as she had a feeling that the others were going to be there. When they did enter the apartment the duo witnessed a video game contest going on with everyone either cheering on Mark or Serena as they were currently playing Pokemon Stadium. Jaebeom then took Serena's spot as Melanie and her went to have a long talk. Serena made a called to their aunt Julisa for advice and Serena finally gave Melanie her pepper spray. Soon enough they were joined by Jackson and BamBam and stayed for an hour or two more and then called it night.
can i have your number? ━ bang chan
where you meet idol!bang chan in the city that never sleeps and realise love at first sight really wasn’t a myth at all.
words: 956
part 1
“this day couldn’t possibly get any worse.” i muttered, walking around aimlessly around new york city. it was bad enough that i had strayed away from my group to take a picture, but now i was stupidly and completely lost. i had been walking in circles trying to spot that familiar red flag that the guide had held up. i even put my social anxiety aside to ask strangers to help but they could barely understand what i was explaining. i knew i should’ve brought my sister along but no, she wanted to study the fan chants to every single stray kids song since we were going to the concert later on. the difference is that she actually wants to go to the concert unlike me, who was forced to go since 14 year old kids aren’t allowed to go on their own.
i squinted my eyes at a figure up ahead who was dressed in full black including a black cap. their head was lifted towards the sky as if they were breathing in the polluted air. i approached the guy and hoped he knew some directions.
“hi! erm, i’m crazy lost and need some help?” he spun around and tilted his head down to meet my eyes. “if you...can?”
“uh, yeah. i can help,” he gave me a bright smile which kind of made my heart skip a beat and ran his fingers through his curly blond hair. i showed him the address to my hotel and surprisingly, he offered to take me there himself.
“you’re not gonna like,” i chuckled nervously. “kidnap me or anything...right?”
“well, if i was, i wouldn’t really tell you.” he smiled mischievously before bursting into a sweet laugh. “no, i won’t. i promise.”
ha, like i’d really believe the word of a stranger, my conscience mused. kidding, accept his offer coward.
i scowled inwardly before beaming at him. “super!” he gestured towards a direction and we began to walk, the summer breeze softly ruffling his hair. weirdly, my hand itched to touch the messy cloud atop his head. “what’s your name anyway? i’m y/n.”
“uh,” he looked timid as if he really shouldn’t be telling me his name. i tilted my head and frowned. “it’s chris.”
“did you just come up with that now?”
“nah, it really is my name. i just don’t use it that often.”
“what name do you use, then?”
“if i told you that, you’ll know who i really am.” he looked at me sideways, eyes narrowed mockingly.
“haha, very funny.” i mused, rolling my eyes.
we had been walking for almost an hour. him, throwing random directions and me, sighing when we weren’t miraculously in front of my hotel.
“this isn’t gonna work,” i sighed again for the billionth time. “let’s just stop at a cafe or something, i’m beat.”
“great idea, i’m starving.” we wandered around a little more before finding a cute cafe and decided to stop there. we sat ourselves down in a booth in the corner and exhaustion seemed to run through me like lightning. the second i sat down, i dropped my head into my arms. “whoa, you okay?”
“just tired.” i murmured, tilting my head to the side and looking up at him. i inhaled deeply and lifted my head. he still looked at me with mild concern. “what’s your deal anyway? you’re obviously not from here. or the whole of the united states in fact. is that an australian accent?”
“yeah, i was brought up in australia, hence the accent. but, i moved to korea and i’ve been living there ever since.” he told me enthusiastically as if he was glad i asked. “what about you? what’s your deal?” and so we spent approximately 2 hours in a tiny cafe telling each other about our stories.
“wow,” chris said, stretching his arms above his head. “it’s almost 5pm! i can’t believe no one has called me yet!”
“were you expecting a call from someone?”
he yawned while nodding. “there’s a group of us that came on this trip so i’m pretty surprised. shows how much they care i guess.”
i laughed and jumped at the sound of a ringtone. he gave me a look before answering the call. whatever was exchanged between him and the person on the other end was in full korean, leaving me study chris while i waited for him to finish. he wasn’t anything extraordinary but he certainly wasn’t ordinary. a musician with bleached blond hair and a killer smile. he laughed at something the person said and it was as if time had slowed down. his dimples deepening with each stretch, his eyes crinkling and narrowing until they were barely open. until, suddenly time had started again. sound had entered the world again and it wasn’t just him and i in this stuffy booth, him a breath away. i suddenly wanted to leave and not look back. how can i suddenly feel so much for a complete and utter stranger? granted, he was a pretty amazing stranger but i’d known him for what, 3 hours? i looked away from his smiley face and willed my face to lose the embarrassing blush and unlocked my phone to find 7 missed calls from my sister.
“oh, shit.”
after hanging up the phone with a frantic 14 year old, i somehow managed to find someone who knew the city pretty damn well. we finally got directions which seemed legitimate enough and 10 minutes later, i was in front of my hotel. i had to sadly bid goodbye to chris and awkwardly shook his hand. i spun towards the door and practically ran to it before he called my name.
“can i have your number?”
Single Parent! Hwang Minhyun
Tumblr media
muahaha i spent 10 hours looking for this gif thanks please be my dad
Genre;; fluff,, single parent! Minhyun what can i say i love minhyun + kids
Warnings;; none i don’t think??
Pairing;; Hwang Minhyun x Reader
Requested;; noooo this is being posted while i have no time to write,, i have a korean test in 2 days oof
Summary;; The kid you babysit sure is cute, but so is his dad...
Style;; bullet point
Word Count;; 1307
Other Minhyun + Kids;; Kindergarten Teacher
masterlist • request rules • request something
Guess what i love minhyun and i’m slow at writing the requests
Minhyun first asked you to babysit for his son when you’d just left college
you’d put an ad up in the local paper in hopes of finding some part-time work while you studied for,,, a masters degree hah
and of course you wanted to do babysitting because children are cute! most of the time!!
and he was the first to apply,, and the only one,, so naturally you took the job
from his email he seemed really nice,, and the hours he wanted weren’t too bad
and he attached a picture of his son who was,, really adorable oh my oH MY
you replied almost straight away to ask for his address and when to start and well
when he replied with his address and ‘tomorrow?’ you were… surprised to say the least
but you turned up exactly on time,, two minutes early actually,, and… rang the doorbell
you were not expecting what honestly was the most beautiful man you’d ever seen to appear in front of your eyes
“You’re here to look after Jinyoung?”
haha i couldn’t resist sorry not sorry
“Uhh,, yeah… hello…”
he held open the door for you so uhh you went in
and straight away this little kid came running at you
LITERALLY a mini minhyun?? amazing ?? he perfected cloning you heard it here first
anyway !! the kid hugs around your legs like,, kids do
minhyun laughed his little haha laugh at this and whispers in your ear
“he likes you already!!”
so you managed to get,, the kid off of you and you went to sit with minhyun in the living room where he,, explained the details of your job basically it was way easier than you expected,, minhyun didn’t need you to cook dinner because he could cook and he’d always make it home on time and he could do the cleaning (here comes cleaning lady minhyun) and… Jinyoung seemed like a really good kid,,
“Jinyoung likes everything!! There’s not a single game he won’t play with you!! Even if you pull out monopoly he’ll try and play!”
you both laughed at this while,,, jinyoung played with some dinosaur toys
but then you just,, you had a question,, that was nagging on your mind as the conversation died out
“Does Jinyoung have a mother?”
i mean it sounded meaner than you intended but
in all these explanations about how your job would go he never mentioned another person and well you assumed he was THAT good looking he must have been husbanded up (is that a thing who knows)
“Not at the moment, no…”
he scratched the back of his neck as he responded to your question before looking down at his watch
“I have to go to work now - I’ll see you at 5 and there’s food in the fridge for you two!! See you later!”
he stood up and walked over to jinyoung, picking him up and placing a small kiss to his forehead and ruffling his hair
ok cutest interaction in the universe thank you amen
he put jinyoung down and waved to you and then he was gone
within like 2 seconds jinyoung had brought out all the toys he wanted to play with and well
that was how the day went
you and jinyoung played for ages,, had a break to make some pancakes because well you found the ingredients in the fridge and jinyoung kept saying how much he wanted to eat them,, and then it was back to playing
at one point he pulled out one of those mats you play with toy cars on and started to act out a whole town and the voices he did for each different person… hilarious
oddly like minhyun’s ‘female voice’ is hilarious thanks
when minhyun got home you were both pretty much passed out on the sofa aka jinyoung was snuggled up to you and was half asleep okay
not going to lie but minhyun’s heart leapt a bit when he saw how CUTE you both looked
but he ignored this as he started to smell… pancakes
“You made pancakes without me?? There better be leftover batter y/n or I will have to sack you!!”
UH OH
you quickly moved jinyoung off of you and ran to the fridge to present,, the leftover mix to him
“Oh my god,, I was just kidding I’m sorry but I’ll have that for dessert!”
great sense of humour minhyun
so,, because he’s back you decided to go and start packing your stuff away
when you hear a still half-asleep jinyoung say
“Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!! Why can’t y/n stay for dinner??”
Minhyun looked over at you and just winked
“Can’t disobey the prince I guess!”
you smiled and stood back up and went to lay the table and then well
you ate minhyun’s cooking which was hey
pretty good?? Unexpectedly so?? wow he clean and he cook and he beautiful what a man literally what else could you need
so then it became the routine
you’d go over there, look after jinyoung and then stay for dinner which minhyun always made and then go home
every so often jinyoung would make a joke like ‘is y/n my new mum’ and you and minhyun would both just roll your eyes and blush wow what a COMEDIAN little 5 year old
even at the weekends minhyun would sometimes ask you over because,, his job sometimes meant he had paperwork to do and he didn’t want to neglect jinyoung because,, he loved jinyoung so much!!
at the end of the first month, he treated you out for a meal together in ,, not the fanciest restaurant but still,, and he left jinyoung with jonghyun (really i would’ve said all the members of nu’est but… i trust jonghyun with a baby, aron not so much he’d prob try teach the kid to dance)
as you two were waiting for your food to come he suddenly sprung up a conversation you,, really weren’t expecting
“About jinyoung’s mum… I know you’ve probably be wondering about this for a while...”
I mean you were wondering about it before but not so much now,, you were more focused on really enjoying your time with minhyun and jinyoung
“She, uh, passed away a couple of weeks after jinyoung was born so… he doesn’t really know her except for pictures…”
“That’s… really sad I’m sorry…”
“No… It’s okay I mean I want her to be remembered… but the last thing she said to me is that she wanted me to be a good parent to jinyoung so… i try my best…”
“Minhyun!! You’re an excellent dad!!”
“Ah… thank you… and uh… thank you for your help!!!”
ooooooooooooof his ears went red and so were his cheeks bless he’s adorable
and well from that day onward there was something,, different between you two
maybe it was all those times minhyun had come home and seen you and jinyoung asleep and snuggled together but…. Yeah he definitely caught them feels
what to do
what to do INDEED minhyun good question
well one day you get an email from him that just says
‘I don’t think you should babysit jinyoung anymore,, let’s talk when i get back…’
thANKS MINHYUN FOR BEING SCARY
so um… all this time you’re looking over jinyoung until minhyun gets home you’re just uhh SHOOKETH
like what have you done wrong?? what was it ?? was it because you made pancakes and not enough for minhyun again because hey dude that’s petty -
but no, as soon as minhyun gets back he finds you straight away and takes ahold of your hand
“After i sent that email i realised it probably sounded really dodgy uhh… what i actually meant was uhh…”
“Yes???”
“I don’t want you to be just jinyoung’s babysitter anymore… do you understand what i mean?”
“I do.”
can you tell i ult minhyun yeah uh of course you can
“I knew it!” [PART 2]
 Genre: Drama, angst?, a bit fluff, smut(eventual).
Pairing: idol!Jungkook x Reader (ft. Yoongi and Taehyung)
A/N: Hey y'all! This is chapter 2 of “I knew it!” Thank you for reading and liking the first chapter :’) This fic is going to be very eventful. I just hope it carries out the way I want it to. Appreciate the love and support! xx
Warning: Swearing, sex.
Plot: You are a member of your school’s student council and a major event pops up in the midst of your last year of high school. Managing studies, extra curriculum activities, social life and now this extravagant pain in the ass. There is no way this could get worse. Or is there?
Part 1
Tumblr media
“Could you hurry up? I have things to do y'know?”, you say loosely.
“It’s not like I’m fixing a minor bug. How did you even manage to fuck the circuit this bad?” “Hey! I didn’t do this”, you say while having flashbacks to this afternoon.
Aria took the responsibility to keep your group’s working model safe. Obviously, she couldn’t live up to her words. She won’t live up to anything if this isn’t fixed. She won’t live. Period. ‘I will kill her’, you think because tomorrow is the deadline for the submission of your physics project.
“I really appreciate these magnificent moments we spend together Ron, but how much more time do you need?”
“An hour.”
“Fine”, you reply to Ron while texting Taehyung to see if he is free right now.
Taehyung: Always free for you. ;) Room no. 428 on the 7th floor. See you in 20?
You: You got it.
‘Hm, I didn’t expect him to invite me up to his room.’ You think for a brief moment.
You knock twice on the door with 428 on it. This hotel seemed really fancy to you. Well it is not that big of a deal as one of the most famous K-Pop groups is staying here.
Taehyung opens the door with a sweet smile inviting you in. He was barefaced with no makeup on and god did he look beautiful. He was wearing sweatpants with a black hoodie which looked amazing on him. ‘What a great outfit. Why can’t I look like that? Ugh he is so beautiful. And hot. And beautiful. Did I mention beautiful?’
“Y/N?”
“Uh-yeah?”
“I asked why were you out this late?”
“Oh my friend fucked up our physics project and it is due tomorrow. Had to get it fixed.”
“I see. Physics. Are you like a nerd or something?”, he says with a scrunched nose and playful smile while standing on the opposite side of the room leaning on the wall.
“Oh you have no idea.”
“I don’t like nerds”, he says with an intention to tease you.
“Nerds don’t like you either”, you respond while stepping back because Taehyung was walking slowly towards you while looking at the floor which made you nervous yet excited.
“I know one nerd who likes me”, he says smugly still walking across the room getting closer to you.
“Are you sure?”, you reply while trying to find his eyes that were still glued to the floor. Was he shy? He wasn’t shy before at the dorms.
“I’m certain”, he says finally looking at you with not much distance in between.
“Well I-”, you’re cut off by Taehyung jolting you towards him. He closes the distance between you two by pulling you forward with a firm grip on your waist. No space between your bodies and only an inch keeping your faces apart. He leaned his forehead on yours. “What do you want me to do?” he whispers while looking into your eyes almost making you wonder if he could see your soul.
You move to meet his lips with yours but he shifts avoiding your kiss.
“Say it.”
His hands were never still and kept traveling on your back. Up and down. Grip getting a bit hard. Hinting a bit desperation.
“What do you want me to do?” he repeats himself getting impatient.
“Me.”
And that was it. His lips crash into yours with a significant force. Your arms wrap around his neck involuntarily and his hands find their way under your t-shirt. You flinch at his touch which was oh, so soft. He lifts you up and you wrap your legs around his waist perfectly never breaking the kiss filled with lust. You were adjusting yourself and you accidentally brush your crotch on his which made him groan loud while still kissing you. Shit that was so hot.
He sits on the couch with you straddling his lap. Your hands were unbuttoning his shirt while your hips were rolling on his to an inaudible rhythm.
“Oh fuck Y/N”, he says with his eyes shut close, “Stop doing that or I’ll be done right here.”
You chuckled while cupping his face to kiss him. His hands were on your back now sliding down slowly in your black jeans.
“Ah shit!”, you heard a man exclaim.
You both turn your head to your right following the voice coming from a similar figure who now had his face turned around.
“For fuck’s sake Jungkook!”
“I didn’t plan to walk in on you! How about a heads up next time you have a girl over in OUR room?!”, he says with a tone of disgust.
You were now sitting besides Taehyung on the couch while fixing your clothes.
“I’m so sorry about this”, he says while looking at you with an apologetic smile.
“No it’s okay”, you say with your already flustered face completed with a somewhat genuine smile.
“PD-nim wants to talk to you and Namjoon hyung about your song”, he says without turning around.
“Great timing PD-nim”, Taehyung mumbles to himself, “I’m sorry Y/N. This is a bit important so I have to go.”
“It’s okay Taehyung, I’ll just go-”
“No no. Please stay. What are you going to do for another 40 minutes anyway at this time of the night? Feel free to hang around. I’ll try to come back as soon as possible.”
“Yeah, okay”, you say giving him a warm smile.
 “See you in a bit”, he gets up and opens the door. Before stepping outside he looks at you again and winks. ‘Flirt.’
 ‘Well, this is weird. Jungkook was it? Yeah probably.’ He settled himself on the side sofa chair and started browsing through netflix as if you weren’t sitting on the adjacent couch. What is even happening?
“Mhm, nope”, you hear a faint mumble. ‘What am I doing here again? What is he doing here again? What is with these Korean guys and their breathtaking looks? Such great skin. How. The. Fuck. It is imp-’
“What?”, you hear the man say. ‘Was I staring? Oh well.’
“You have nice skin.”
“I know.”
“Cocky much?”
“I’m cocky? I don’t scream at strangers.”
“I was really sleepy.”
“Sure, love.”
You scoff at his reply.
“You don’t waste time do you?”, he says with a chuckle at an attempt to tease you about Taehyung.
“What’s the fun in that?”, you say with a wink directed towards the person who is now a bit confused at your unpredictable reply.
“You’re a good dancer”, he muttered with the most neutral expression while staring at the screen of the television in front of him.
“When did you see me dance?”
“I saw some of your performances earlier today. Ms. Cooper had them in her drive. She is a difficult woman”, he says with a sigh.
“She definitely is. Thanks though.”
“I mean you’re good but you could be better you know? You’re holding something back. Something is holding you back. Either one of these. I don’t know what it is but I’m sure you can find that out yourself. Let everything go when you’re dancing.”
‘What? What is he saying? I am completely open to criticism but is this criticism? What does he mean? I am holding something back? Something is holding me back? No one has ever said this to me. Sure, they’ve pointed out areas in which I could work on but how am I supposed to work on this, this, um, mere observation?’
‘You know what? I didn’t sign up for a therapy session. Time to run away from my problems’, you think.
“Uh-huh, gotcha! Okay got to go, bye!”, you say while standing up and walking at a fast pace towards the door.
“Did I say something wrong?”, Jungkook is completely puzzled at your reaction and is still blank when he sees you leaving and shutting the door on your way out.
“Alright guys, let’s start! Choose a partner”, Ms. Cooper screams in the dance hall filled with the dancers of our school, bighit and of course, members of BTS.
“Y/N! Go pair up with either Hoseok or Jungkook”, Ms. Cooper says.
‘Well shit, where is Hoseok? There! You take in a breath of relief but it’s long gone when you see him pairing up with someone else.’
‘Fuck.’
“Can I get a different partner, Ms. Cooper?”
“No. You’re one of our best dancers and we need to put up a solid impression. Go on now!”, she says while checking something off on a white sheet.
‘Ugh. Why is she even here? She can’t even dance. Where is Ms. Dallas? She is our dance teacher right? God save me from this confrontation.’
You walk up to Jungkook who is sitting on the floor tying his shoelaces.
“Hey”, you mumble.
He looks up to you and then looks behind him where there is nothing but a wall.
“Who? Me?”, he says with the most innocent face you’ve ever seen.
“Do you have to be this extra?”
“Can’t help it. Also, can we not run away from each other every time we meet?”
“No, no, it’s not working. You have to give in or this choreography won’t look good. Founder’s Gala is no joke! From the top!”, Ms. Cooper screams yet again.
It’s 8:45 pm. ‘We’ve been practicing since 1:30 pm. My limbs are ready to fall off because of this draining choreography I’ve to do with Jungkook. He is an amazing dancer. Along with Hoseok and Jimin, of course. This a 3 piece performance where you and Jungkook are supposed to dance the last and final segment. And you have to end it with a bang.’
“Okay, enough for today. You both need to work harder. Get some rest.”
Everyone leaves except you and Jungkook because he had the idea of staying back and practicing for a while. ‘What is with him and his need to be perfect at everything?’
You pick up your water bottle and lean against the big mirror-covered wall where Jungkook’s eyes are glued as he is trying to perfect the choreography.
“Calm down for a minute yeah? We can do this. We just need some time”, you say softly while sipping water from your bottle.
“Yeah right. This is a complex choreography where the two individuals have to be in complete sync and showcase their chemistry. I can’t do that alone but I can at least perfect my part.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“This is clearly not important to you because it is not worth your time right? Your movements are distant and don’t even get me started on the fact that you can’t even look me in the eye”, he says without any hint of anger but a bit annoyance while his eyes are still fixated on his swift moves which has a bit contemporary touch along with freestyle.
“You think you know everything? How about not assuming shit the next time you can’t figure out another person’s situation? I’m trying here so cut me some fucking slack yeah? It is not easy switching back and forth between this and studies and loads of other shit. My future isn’t set like yours. I have to get into a good college, do what I’ve been planning to do for years, and actually be the person I want to be!”
His expression is shifting. Shifting into.. anger? His jaw clenches as he stop his moves and stands there with his eyes closed.
“What is with you? Why do you have to be so difficult? You aren’t this difficult to deal with around other people. You’re not the only one having a tough time. This isn’t easy for me either okay?! I haven’t seen my family in the last 5 months. I miss them. Am I whining? No, because it won’t do anything.”
“Do they miss you?”, you say. This caused his eyes to soften a bit as he walks towards his bag to get his water bottle.
“Yes, they do. My dad tries not to show his emotions but it’s pretty much clear. It’s kinda cute though. Why?”
“Nothing, just wondering how it’s like have a family that loves you. My only family is my mom. She is a blessing”, you say with a smile while you picture your mom smiling.
“What happened to your dad?”
“Nothing. He’s just an asshole. Left when I was 7 to be with my mom’s best friend and kinda forgot that I existed. He has a son now. Cool right?”
“I’m sorry to hear that. You both deserve better than this”, he says now standing next to you with his back leaned back on the mirror just like you. You both keep looking across the room without saying anything for a few minutes.
“Are you okay?”, he breaks the silence still looking at the wall opposite to you both.
“Yes. Are you?”
“Yep.”
“Okay.”
“Look, I’m sorry about what I said yesterday about you not giving your hundred percent while dancing. I think that might have to do with the fact you’ve been distant all day. I still think you are holding something back and honestly, running away from it won’t help either. Just let me explain what I’m trying to say.”
He walks to the centre of the hall facing the mirror and urges you to join him by raising his eyebrows.
“Trust me, I won’t bite.”
You walk up to his side and get in your starting position.
“There’s no music”, you say while facing him.
“Doesn’t matter”, he replies while looking at you with determination in his eyes. You can see similarities between him and a toddler who is trying to get his shoelace knots right.
“Five, six, seven,”
You start with the first movement of your hand to your side on shoulder-level. Jungkook stands behind you with almost no space between your bodies and mirrors every move of yours. In between a few steps he holds you and makes you reach farther as if you’re trying to get a hold of something out of your reach.
“It may be impossible to reach but you have to go as far as you can”, he says in a low volume close to your right ear. He grips your left wrist and make the steps flow out in such a breeze stepping sideways twice. The next part of the choreography involves both of you. You turn around to face him and hold his right hand in your left.
“Just look at me the whole time. Do not break eye contact okay?”
You nodded. What followed was something you’ve never done before. This was the first time you had no other thoughts while dancing. Only your movements. Turning, twirling with synchronized foot work and hand gestures was all that mattered in that moment. As you did the last spin you had to land in Jungkook’s arms while your back is pressed to his chest and his hands wrapped around yours. You haven’t tried this part out in practice all day but this time, everything happened so smoothly that God knows how you got into the perfect end position.
You both stayed in the same position while breathing heavily. You look into his eyes in the mirror and give him a huge smile expressing your gratitude towards him for doing this.
“You get what I’m saying now?”, he says softly as you turn to face him. Your hands are pressed against his chest and you can hear his heart beating at a very quick rate. Your eyes are now looking down which results in him trying to find them by leaning his forehead against yours in an attempt to lift it up while his hands are on your shoulders. You finally give in and look into his big doe eyes and mutter a very faint thank you.
You both keep looking into each other’s eyes as if you’re waiting for something. Waiting for something to happen. You both are still out of breath and your heavy breathing is the only thing echoing in the dance hall.
“You did great”, Jungkook says without moving a muscle. Your faces were so close that when he spoke, his warm breath hit you which intoxicated you with his aura. Both of you crash your lips into each other’s almost at the same time.
This kiss had a very passionate vibe as you both were slow and steady yet ready to burst with the tingly feelings you were getting all over your body. The kiss got bigger and bigger as you held onto his shoulders to lift yourself a bit up to reach him completely because you did not want to leave any part untouched. His hands were on your waist gripping the sides firmly. He bit your lower lip in anticipation of what might happen next.
Suddenly, your mouth felt empty as he broke the kiss.
“Aren’t you and Taehyung a thing?”
“No. We’re not dating or anything”, you assure him.
“Then what are you doing?”, he asks you.
“Um..”
“I’m just messing with you. Fuck buddies right?”, he giggles.
“Fuck you”, you say while slapping his shoulder.
“You’re about to”, he says with a very prominent smirk across his face.
He resumes kissing you without any warning. This kiss is more feisty and demanding. You tug his white T-shirt’s end and pull it over his head revealing his bare chest. He lifts up your crop top and tosses it on the floor. You slowly start going in the direction he is walking in, towards the wooden desk placed in the corner of the hall. He lifts you up and sets you on the table without breaking the kiss. His hands are on your waistband which are now pulled down to your ankles. You kick the cloth off of your ankles and start unbuttoning his jeans. He left your lips and started kissing your neck with very light bites which were going to be easily visible the next day.
You hear a buzzing sound coming from your pants on the floor which turned out to be your teacher’s call.
“Yes, ma’am. I’m on my way. Yes ma’am”, you say into your phone while wearing your shoes.
“Raincheck?”
“Yeah”, he replies with a pout.
“I’m sorry Jungkook.”
“No it’s okay. I’ll deal with you when you get back. Come by my room when you’re done.”
Convenience Store
Characters: PENTAGON’s Yuto & OC
Word Count: 1937 words
Summary: As a college freshman part time worker at a convenience store nearby Cube Entertainment, you work the weird night time evening shifts.  Not many people come by except the few late workers and the trainees, dancers and idols taking small breaks from endless practices.  One night, you’re studying for your Japanese test as you go around the store cleaning and reorganizing.  You don’t notice him walk in but Yuto comes in to grab snacks for him and his members…
“Soko de nani wo……nani wo…..eh??” You tried not to look at the flashcards in your left hand as you pushed the large cardboard box full of new snacks on the floor with your right.  You sighed and stopped pushing, not able to remember what the translation was on  the card.  “huh…??” You said out loud, not understanding the grammar of the sentence you were supposed to translate.  You sighed again and continued to flip through your flashcards and restock the shelves with the new shipment of snacks.  Since your test was technically later that day and no one was really up or around the area since it was 2:30 AM, your focus was at it’s maximum level.  Good thing for you that you only worked two days a week now considering what odd hours your manager had scheduled you for.  It was your first time working these late hours ever, since you’d started working at the convenience store.  It was honestly the only place that was willing to hire someone who didn’t have a very detailed resume.  But it was a good place for you to start.  It wasn’t as hard as you were expecting, but it was still as demanding as anything.  People who came in and out were quick and often didn’t make much conversation, which was good for you.  You weren’t allowed to sit down, but you were going back and forth between the register and the shelves anyways, so there wasn’t much time to sit around.  But now that you were working the weird late shifts, you were allowed to sit behind the counter and study when the store was empty.  Of course sleeping wasn’t allowed, but now you could at least sit.   You finished up the box you were working on and squared to start folding it up.  But as you were doing so, you knocked over your stack of flashcards that you’d set down on the floor and you sighed.  “Need some help?” A voice said from behind you.  You jumped a little, turning to the source of the voice as your hand went straight to your heart in surprise.  His voice surprised you a  bit and you looked at him but the shadow off his hoodie was blurring some of his features.  He looked down at you and cracked a funny smile as if he didn’t know whether to be concerned or to laugh.  You sighed a bit as he didn’t look to be too threatening and he was just offering help anyways.  “Uh yeah thanks.” You said, starting to pick up and stack your flashcards.  He laughed a little and started helping you.  You caught yourself looking at him through your peripherals and kind of stared.  Maybe it was you being tired after being awake and studying for so long, but he was really good looking.  Hopefully you weren’t starting to hallucinate.  His skin was a nice smooth light sand-tan color and his jawline was pretty nice.  He didn’t quite look Korean, but you couldn’t really tell since he was wearing a hood.  “Oh?” Something caught his eyes and you gave him a confused look.  “Are you studying Japanese?” He asked, looking at you.  His eyes were soft, but they also gave off an intense feeling.  He looked a little familiar, but you couldn’t really remember if you’d seen him before or not.  “Uh, oh yeah, I’m taking a fundamentals course.” You said.  “That’s so cool.” He said.  “Yeah… I’m trying to study abroad there soon, so I thought it would be a good idea to learn the language.” You started rambling a little due to the lack of sleep you were getting.  He nodded.  “Hajimemashite!” He said, in a fluent Japanese accent.  Your eyes widened in surprise and you realized that he was speaking in Japanese.  “Do you speak Japanese?” You asked.  “I don’t just speak it, I actually am Japanese.” He said with a little laugh and a smile.  “Ahhh, I see.” You nodded in understanding.  He continued to help you pick up your insane amount of flashcards and he handed you all the ones from his side.    “Thanks!” You said with a quick smile and you saw that he’d set down a bunch of snacks so that he could help you.  You put the cards in your jacket pocket and reached over to pick up the snacks.  “Oh, let me get those for you, are you ready to pay?” You asked  *That’s a lot of snacks, maybe he’s hanging out with a group of friends or something* you thought.  “Almost, I think I need to grab a couple more things first.” He said, picking up some of the stuff, but letting you take some of them.  You both stood up and you realized you’d stopped moving up before him, and that he was sort of tall compared to your smaller figure.  You brought the snacks you’d picked up to the counter and then went back as he went to go grab the last few things he needed to pick up.  You folded the box and went to go put it outside.  The guy walked through the aisles, checking a list on his phone to make sure that he was picking up the right things.  You walked back in after putting the box outside the shop and he was walking from the other side of the store and met you at the register.  “Ready?” You asked.  “Yeah.” He nodded and you started ringing up all of the items.  There was a large variety of snacks and candies on the counter and you were kind of overwhelmed by the amount.  He looked around as he waited for you to ring up all of the snacks, and something caught his eye.  “Do you have a test tomorrow or are you doing homework?” He asked in Japanese.  “Ah… I have a test tomorrow.” You replied back in slow, choppy Japanese.  He smiled.  “You’re pronunciation is pretty good.” He said.  “It’s so hard to speak at a normal speed though.” You said, scratching your head, kind of embarrassed.  “Can I see that paper?” He asked, pointing to one of your worksheets.  “Uh sure…” You said, putting down the snack you’d been holding into the plastic bag and you handed him your worksheet.  You watched as he looked over your work, kind of confused as to why he was so interactive.  But you didn’t mind.  “Ah this is wrong.” He pointed out something on the page and you looked over as he turned it toward you.  “This should go before this…” He said.  You read it over quietly and realized your mistake and how weird it sounded.  “Ohhh.  So put these words here instead?” You asked.  “Yeah, it’s more normal sounding this way, more natural.” He said.  “Ahh i see…” You said, crossing it out and writing it again the way he’d said.   “Thanks for the help.” You said, finishing ringing his snacks up.  “$35.38 is your total, cash or card?” You asked.  “Card.” He held out his credit card for you and you slide his card through the system.  You gave him his card back and asked him to sign the receipt.  He signed it and you handed him the two plastic bags full of snacks.  “Thanks!” He said.  You laughed.  “No, thank you for the help.” You said.  He smiled and left the store.  You went back to studying and waited for the next employee to come and take over.  Later that day you took your test and saw a grammar question that was really similar to the one that the guy had helped you out with earlier while you were at work.  And you realized that you’d never gotten his name.  And it was bothering you all day.  It was around 11 pm and you were on your way to work and you looked up at the bright Cube Entertainment building as you passed it on your way to work.  You stopped in your tracks and tilted your head, thinking.  There was a large poster with people dressed in twin-like outfits and one of them looked extremely similar to the Japanese guy that had walked in last night, but you shook your head, not believing it was the same person.  You hurried over a couple doors down to the convenience store and you clocked in for work as per usual.   Later that night, you were studying again while working because there was going to be a vocabulary test the next class.  You kept on saying words in Japanese and then saying their translation as you worked and restocked shelves.  It was around 3:00 AM and your shift was almost over.  You flipped through a different set of flashcards you’d made earlier during your shift and you looked up as someone walked in.  “??” You made a noise, but it was a bit incomprehensible, almost a weird mix of the Japanese word you were trying to say and “welcome”, since you hadn’t spoken to anyone in about two hours.  But you recognized the person walking into the store.  He smiled and nodded as he headed down the snacks aisle to grab some food again.  You watched as he filled his basket and soon enough he was done and came to pay.  “Studying again?” He asked, nodding his head towards the pile of messy flashcards on the counter on the other side of the register.  “Yup, vocabulary this time.” You said, ringing him up.  “Ahhh I see.” He said, picking up some of the cards and looking through them.  “Let me test you.” He said as you were almost done.  “Excuse me?” You asked, looking up at him, slightly surprised and confused.  “I mean, sure, but do you have time?” You asked.  “I’m on a break from practice, they sent me to get snacks.” He said.  “Practice?” You asked, not putting the pieces together.  “Yeah, I’m a k-pop idol?  I’m part of a group at Cube Entertainment over there.” He said, pointing to the building.  “…..OH!” You realized you had been right earlier when you thought the guy on the poster looked familiar.  “I’m sorry for not recognizing you…” You said, flustered about your situation.  He laughed and shook his head.  “We’re a rookie group so it’s okay.” He said.  “I walked by the Cube building earlier and kind of had to take a moment to convince myself I was seeing things.” You said, finishing ringing up his snacks.  He handed you his card and when you were done you handed it back to him.  He grabbed some of the flashcards and started reading them out.  You went through the deck, you and the guy laughed a bunch when you didn’t know a word or were having trouble with pronunciation.  He had to correct you a couple times and he pointed out things to help you remember certain words.   About ten to fifteen minutes later, he had to head back and he started to leave.  “Oh wait!” You called out to him.  He turned around and looked at you.  “Namae wa nandesuka? (What is your name?)” You asked in Japanese.  He laughed.  “Sorry I didn’t realize I hadn’t said it before.” He said.  “Yuto.” He said.  “Adachi Yuto.” His Japanese accent coming out as he said his name.  You nodded and smiled.  “I’m ____.” You said.  “I know.” He said.  Your eyes widened.  “It’s on your name tag.” He said, laughing a little as he walked out.  “Ah………” You blushed immediately and sighed as you watched him walk away, two bags full of snacks in his hands.
Yayyyyy a new scenarioooooo after like two yearsssss lmaooooo T^T I’m on vacation right now so I probably shouldn’t be writing these, also since I have a bunch of work to do for my online writing class... BUT WHATEVER :) procrastinating even during summer break.... amazing.  but yeah i hope you enjoy!!!
50 more interesting questions
Rules: fill this out and tag at least one person you’d like to know more about! Or just fill it out! Or don’t! Answer only some of them! Make up your own questions! “What kind of requirement is that”, you ask? A reasonable one! Who am I to tell you what to do? Anything goes!
tagged by @acrispyapple this was very long
1. What kind of food can’t you stand? really spicy food, tho recently i’ve been getting better at handling spices. Also food that has cauliflower or cilantro
2. If you could choose one minor inconvenience to never have to deal with again, what would you pick? I’d love it if my fish tanks could magically clean themselves and feed the fish, that’d be great
3. Have you got any useless talents? is not being affected by the caffeine in coffee a talent?
4. If you were really really good at one thing, what would it be? Probably drawing. I have soo many ideas but hardly any artistic talent lol.
5. Name a few people you think are extremely good-looking gdragon and top from bigbang
6. What was your favorite way to pass the time as a kid? I wasn’t allowed to go outside really when I was younger so all I did was read books, watch tv, rewatch disney movies and harry potter movies over and over.
7. What is something you’re proud of? eh, I don’t think i’ve done anything worth being proud about yet...ask me again when I have a career
8. What’s one character flaw in people that you just can’t tolerate? I hate when people don’t have proper manners, it’s so annoying.
9. Do you consider yourself to be more of a leader or a follower? oh a follower for sure. I am but a humble, shy sheep~ leading requires effort lol and it just isn’t interesting for me. Although, if i’m forced into a leadership position I’ll do well, it’s just that I do want to do it.
10. What kind of student are/were you? a pretty good kiddo. Never gto into trouble, and besides my ap physics grade back in junior year I never had low grades. Had to stay in tip top shape academically in order to get anything I wanted and not be disowned by my mom lol.
11. Butterfly effect question! Has there ever been a seemingly minor decision you’ve made (at the time) that ended up having a profound influence on your life? eh I don’t really think so but maybe
12. Name your most irrational fear/aversion SPIDERS, they’re the devil’s animal haha. so that and most most insects ughhh
13. Are there any fictional characters you find especially relatable? hmmm...maybe the mc from kiss him, not me? She’s into weeb shit, I’m into weeb shit. She likes yaoi, I like yaoi lol but she is way more into it than I will ever be. Also she’s surrounded by hot guys, which I am not and that is the ultimate tragedy.
kind of drunk are you? Alternatively, what sort of person are you at parties? I’m still underage so i dunno. Ask me again in January when my bff turns 21, I’ll let you know. At parties I’m super awkward so I’ll either just stand around looking really awkward or follow my friends around.
15. Do you fall in love easily? Or does it usually take a long time for you to trust someone? it’ll take a loooong while. I don’t trust guys (or most people). you can’t unlock my tragic backstory that easily if  you date me.
16. Would you rather have one close friend or 100 casual friends? one. I love having close bonds with people because then I won’t feel lonely. Also who needs that many friends.
17. Do you consider yourself to be more of a slob or a neat-freak? I like to have things clean for the most part. Though I might get really lazy and just throw things down and not put them away for a few hours lol. Also my desk can get pretty messy sometimes and becomes a sort of organized chaos, but I’ll always fix it anyway since the mess will eventually bother me.
18. Describe a place (imaginary or real) that you would find incredibly cozy. Somewhere where the weather isn’t terribly hot or cold in their respective seasons and is overcast  most of the time. Or Loches, France. I freaking love that place it’s really nice.
19. Do you have kids? If not, do you want them someday? I’d love to have kids, at least 3.
20. What was your favorite book as a child? I used to read the goosebumps and fear street series a lot. Also harry potter, a series of unfortunate events and the chronicles of narnia (Though fo some reason I couldn’t remember the books in that series at all but luckily @acrispyapple told me to reread it and now I have renewed love for it)
21. Name one thing you just don’t get what all the hype is about yeah fidget spinners are pretty dumb and I see them wherever I go.
22. Name one thing that you think is tragically underrated learning how to type properly? I think a lot of people barely know how to type and it upsets me to no end. I hate when people finger peck at the keys, they’re so slow.
23. If you had to be glued to a person for a month, real or fictional (who you have never met), who would you choose? hmm, maybe natsume takashi from natsume yuujinchou. Mostly becuase I really like him. Also being attached to him means I can cuddle nyanko-senesei. Or Nikkari Aoe from touken ranbu because I love him too.
24. What’s something you’d like the chance to do someday? travel all over!
25. Do you typically speak your mind when you have a controversial opinion? Or do generally prefer to not rock the boat? I don’t like confrontation so I keep my mouth shut usually.
26. What’s the dumbest fad you’ve been caught up in? hmm, not sure
27. What’s something you thought was cool as a kid/adolescent, but now cringe at yourself for? *war flashbacks of being emo*
28. What’s a trait you consider to be very admirable? I admire people who can speak their minds without fear, of course they also have to have tact. Also the kind of people who are so good at leading that you’ll naturally want to follow them.
29. Is there a particular kind of item people always tend to give you as gifts? (For instance, people always get you things with ducks on them because you like ducks, etc.) people like to give me things with cats bc cat’s are God’s greatest gift to humanity. I appreciate money just a little more though lol.
30. Do you speak multiple languages? Which ones? Yup. English, French, and Japanese. I really want to learn Korean, German and Spanish but I usually spend half of my free time on continuing japanese studies so we’ll see.
31. Would you rather live in the big city or the countryside? Neither. I like the suburbs. Either that or smaller cities at least.
32. Has there ever been something you were certain you’d hate, but ended up loving? sarada uchiha. When I first saw her at the end of naruto i kinda automaically hated her because I hate sakura. But ever since gaiden and the boruto movie I saw her personality and realized that I lover her haha. So whenever I see her in a boruto ep I’m pretty happy.
33. Do you mind being the center of attention, or do you prefer the spotlight to be on someone else? nope, I get so uncomfortable. I’m happy enough to not be noticed.
34. Favorite holiday? Christmas! I’m so obnoxious about it haha. I love singing Christmas songs and I’ll gladly sing along to the Christmas music that plays in stores and stuff.
35. Are you a more go-with-the-flow type of person, or do you need to have things planned meticulously? a bit of both. For the most part I’m go with the flow but for most important things that happens outside of home life having some kind of plan is logical and for the best .
36. Is there something you loved so much you wish you could forget it and experience it all over again? (A tv show, book, series–anything.) the dragon age series and mass effect series.
37. What hobbies do you have? reading, running this crap blog, doodling, studying, video games
38. If you could have a superpower, but it was only mildly useful, what ability would you want to have? the ability to make things clean themselves.
39. Something people are always surprised to learn about you I’m super lazy! I give off the impression that i would never ever be lazy which is just a lie lmao. That doesn’t mean I won’t do the work that I have to do. One can’t be remiss about those things you know, you’ll set yourself up for failure that way. I just hate wasting energy
40. Something that took you way too long to figure out  I can’t work @cyniccat‘s sewing machine properly for the life of me.
41. Worst injury you’ve had? I accidentally ripped the skin off of one of my toes with a door.
42. Any morbid fascinations? idk
43. Describe your sense of humor eh idk, I like sarcasm since I have such rapier wit. I also love really lame jokes lol. but I usually find most things
44. If you had to be born in another era/place, which would you choose? well I wouldn’t want to live in another era because they weren’t such fun times for poc’s. But If I could live in another place, I’d rather live in either Canada or France. Maybe Japan.
45. Something you are irredeemably bad at I can’t summarize that well without rambling.
46. Something that sucked but you’re glad you went through school. Even though it made my cry and my workload stressed me out I met my best friends there and more importantly I got an education.
47. Would you rather have a really godawful ugly tattoo in a place that is only slightly inconvenient to conceal with clothing (upper arm, thigh, etc.), or the coolest, most beautiful tattoo ever in the middle of your face? (Neither tattoo can be removed or concealed with makeup, and the ugly tattoo will deeply offend anyone who sees it.) I don’t want a tattoo ever, so the ugly one but like what’s so offensive about it??
48. Are you more of an optimist or a pessimist? for a pessimist i’m pretty optimistic
49. What would be the most flattering compliment someone could give you? “you fight good”. uh i’m not sure. I don’t take compliments well so even if it was the most flattering thing I probably wouldn’t believe whoever said it and just awkwardly laugh and say thanks.
50. Something you feel people often misunderstand about you hmm people who don’t know me think I like talking irl. I’m more of a listener.
i’m only tagging two people bc I like to see them suffer with me but this is open to anyone who wants to do it
i’m losing my mind
i’m always losing my mind actually.
i’m not even playing soccer AT ALL this week. completely skipped it.
and i have this chemistry exam on Saturday fucking morning and no time to prepare for it.
I spent all afternoon yesterday catching up on OTHER studies that i also have to do this week, and finishing my chapter 4 chemistry homework (which took me 3 hours to complete 10 problems, as usual, fuck my life)
and i have classes all day and work immediately after. i’m not done until at LEAST 9pm. That gives me 3 hours to study and still get 6 hours of sleep. i’m supposed to be getting 9 hours of sleep. and i maximize at 6.
the job teaching taekwondo and soccer, i can’t ever request off because i’m the only one who does the job. there is no one to cover for me. So i asked in the group chat for my sandwich shop if someone was able to cover for me. I just ASKED.
and my boss privately messages me saying “kaela, you should know that you probably can’t get a cover because it’s exams week”
and i’m like uh...no...exam week doesn’t start officially until the 19th. I’m just taking this stupid fucking chemistry class that has 3 exams instead of 2, so i happen to have an exam before everyone else.
and he’s like “uh, well, you know that everyone else also has to manage their homework and group projects.”
YEAH. I know that. I was just ASKING if someone could cover for me. I wasn’t saying, “hey someone cover for me i’m not coming in today because i have too much other work to do”....it doesn’t hurt to ask, and its more hours for someone else. What’s the harm in that?
“uh well you should plan to have your shift covered in advance, not ask on the same day you work.”
I get that. I do. And usually I do that. unless i’m sick and dying. my boss doesn’t know i have lupus. he wouldn’t get it if i tried to explain it to him too. i’m not trying to play the victim here but i have a lot of other shit i have to worry about than most students. I can’t just freely sacrifice my health like everyone else without potentially serious consequences. Honestly, no student should have to sacrifice their health at all, but society sucks.
and secondly, only 4 out of the 7 kitchen staff we have are students. The others are just working holiday. They might have other jobs too but like, it’s not like everyone is suffering all at once. And none of the other students also has THREE JOBS on top of their course load. only the one job. I cover for people when I can to help them out. Not so much this semester because of my limited schedule...but when I can.
but then he says to me “we need to talk after work about your schedule.”
what the actual fuck. is he going to fire me? he let go other people who couldn’t work more than 10 hours a week...and i work 9.5! and because of my classes and other jobs, and the fact that the shop isn’t open on sundays...i can’t change my schedule in any other way, and he knows that. so i’m certain he’s not going to try to change it but i terrified that he’s going to fire me.
so i skipped class today, despite having mandatory attendance...so i could study a bit, under the assumption that no one could cover for me and i would have to work anyways.
and i spent the entire hour panicking about what the fuck he meant by “we need to talk.”
because i seriously CANNOT afford to lose this job. and i don’t have time to look for another one. i got freaked out and told him that he needs to accept that i’m a student first and i care about my GPA more than work, and would starve for a week for not having enough money if it means i can get a good grade. I shouldn’t have said that. but he should understand. like he was a student in our uni too, only less than 10 years ago. he’s lived abroad before. he knows what it’s like. what the fuck.
i have team projects and homework too. in fact, two of my projects this year aren’t so easy to finish, where we just make a group chat, meet once, decide the topic/how to divide the work and then just do it. One of them we’re conducting a full-fledged experiment with the professor’s graduate students and we have to present it in front of some national psychology colloquium. our group has to meet with the grad student every week, at least once. for more than just a mere hour too. The only time everyone is available? 9am on friday. when most of my group doesn’t even have class that day, and the ones that live far from campus have to come to school by 9am. all because of fucking ME.
my other group? they seem happy to just exclude me even though i want to be apart of the project as much as possible. this is my class that’s in Korean and they always just ignore my suggestions and ideas and go with what they want even though i know it’s not right but i just suck at expressing what i want for such difficult concepts in Korean so my ideas sound stupid or don’t make sense. They also have no experience doing research projects...but i do...so they think they are doing things right but they aren’t and i don’t know how to explain it because i’m not the team captain.
my other 3 groups, i’m the oldest and therefore the team captain and they are all lazy idiots who don’t want to collaborate at all and don’t do anything unless i initiate.
plus i’m constantly having to check my messages because i have to translate the stuff for my soccer team into English for the other foreigners on the team, as soon as the message comes up.
my hair is falling out and i have sores on my head from scratching (i have an awful nervous habit of skin picking and my head and eyebrows are the first to get destroyed)
i wish i could stop working and just be a damn student. there is a scholarship for 1:1 language exchange and pays 500,000won at the end of the semester... but the students have to meet 2 hours twice a week and submit a report every week in person by a specific date. I don’t have time for that, i would have to sacrifice studying or more sleep for that.
i haven’t even been going to the gym so i’m stressed about how much weight i will gain and how weak i will get and i feel so stifled that i want to run to just blow it all off... but ain’t nobody got time for that either!
I”M FREAKING OUT BECAUSE I SUCK AT CHEMISTRY.
there is no way i can get an A on this exam. literally.
professor told us today that the AVERAGE is 50%. FIFTY FUCKING PERCENT
20 questions in 1.5 hours...and most students can’t even finish, and all fail.
so they ones who get above the average get an “A’ on a curve...but that doesn’t mean they are actually A students who understand the material really well and are really good at studying. It just means they failed not as badly as everyone else. it’s fucking bullshit.
i don’t know why, if for the past several years that how they do it and just expect all students to fail and not a single one gets even a legit C on the exams...why they don’t just make it a little easier? it’s GENERAL CHEMISTRY for chrissake...there are more advanced courses to come later for those who need them. I can’t understand the concept of curved grading AT ALL.
there is nothing amazing or special about being a kinesthetic learner.
it just means that i’m inefficient and stupid at everything
i hate this. i’m so fucking stupid. why did i even THINK that i had a chance at doing well this semester? i’ve failed all 3 of my quizzes so far...i did the math...the highest possible grade i can get is a B, and that’s ONLY if I ace every quiz, get perfect scores on all upcoming homeworks, and ace all 3 of my exams. Which is impossible.
i hate everything right now and i feel completely helpless and stupid all the time. Like i can’t even speak Korean properly most days.
i’m literally getting dumber by the day the more i try to stuff more crap into my brain the dumber i get.
Basic Bro | “Thanks for sucking my dick”
dates: 🍦🍦🍦🍦 sex: 🍦🍦 awkward diabetes moment? no (date rating guide here)
choice quote: “How would you rate my dick on a scale of one to five? You know, like a Yelp review.”
~SCROLL DOWN FOR DICK DEETS~ This is just slightly embarrassing to admit, though it shouldn’t be: I’ve never dated or hooked up with anyone I’ve gone to school with. Well, hadn’t ever. The convergence of fatness, depression, awkwardness, shyness, low self-esteem, ssri-induced lack of libido, and diabetes-induced lethargy basically assured that. But now I’m finally back in school, and with weight loss and a dye job, society has finally deemed me attractive and desirable. Super fucked up, right? Alas, here we are. I’d had a crush on Basic Bro since the first day of class. He wore a rad silk bomber jacket (so on-trend!) and spoke up often with a uniquely cool bravado. He seemed smart, engaged, and like he really cared about school - basically, everything you want in a classmate, and also a good deal of what turns me on. One day, I ended up sitting next to him, and he struck up a conversation. The classroom was hot that day, or maybe it was just me. I was only wearing a light flannel, but I was sweating tiny bullets and could feel my face reddening while I prayed that my light layer of makeup could adequately cover the intensifying physiological signs of a developing crush. He spoke smoothly and confidently, and we had one of those oh-so-satisfying whispered conversations, the kind that make you feel like you’re in your own little world, the kind woven with climactic tension. The tension isn’t sexual, and it’s hardly even flirtatious, but it’s enough to leave you smiling and wondering for the rest of the day. “Do you understand what she’s saying?” “Yeah, I think she’s talking about Freudian psychoanalysis.” “Damn, you’re smart, huh?” “Hah! Hardly.” He asked for my number, “Just in case I need to know about, like, class stuff. ‘Cause you seem like you take really good notes.” And indeed, I was left wondering. He did eventually text me, but just about class. But that evolved to larger conversations about school, and then, at his behest, just plain conversation. Yeah... I started to get the sense he might be into me. Of course, I was into him, too, but one of my biggest hesitations was our age difference. I just turned 24, and he’s 20. Or, as he phrased it, “I turn 21 in December.” With younger guys, of course, there’s a greater risk of immaturity, but I didn’t want to make any assumptions. What really held me back was my own shame. I’m a textbook late bloomer, always feeling a bit behind in life, and dating someone younger would feel like proof of that. I’ve internalized the message that women who date younger men are desperate, losers. For what it’s worth, I also judge men who date younger women. I generally follow the half-your-age-plus-seven rule, which tells me that 19 is my lower limit, but that still feels way too young. I decided to proceed with caution and told myself that barring some amazing display of maturity and compatibility on his part, this would just be a hookup. I kept talking to him, but I also kept Tindering in hopes of finding an actual relationship (I know, I know!) Unfortunately, Basic Bro did start to show signs of immaturity. He skips class often - he’s probably only been to half of them, and it’s a once a week class. Then, when I invited him to a study session, he stopped responding to my texts and only got in touch the next day to tell me he’d accidentally slept most of the day. But then, he asked me out... kind of? “hey would you like to hang out sometime? maybe we could study more, or not” I’d figured out by this point that this kid has the mentality of a high schooler. But my crush hadn’t fully faded, and it was high time to hang out with someone I’d met in real life, rather than on a dating app. So I did. DATE 1 He flaked on our first meeting (no surprise there), but we finally met up for pizza last week. Since he almost never comes to class, and since I have a class right after ours, I hadn’t actually talked to him much in person, most of our contact was over text. When he showed up, it was supremely awkward. He didn’t have much to say, so I had to put on my bubbly face and force-feed him conversation. I had to wonder if he was just like this, or if he was nervous because of me. I was pretty positive he was into me, but I wasn’t actually sure whether this was a date. He did pay for the pizza, though, and was awkwardly chivalrous in constantly refilling my water. I guess that’s a sign. When we were done, I asked, “So what do you want to do now?” “Uh, we could walk around and talk, sit on a bench and talk, sit on the grass and talk...” Another sign. We did all three, walking around the local college campus and chatting. We mostly talked about basic things - school, family, interests, life goals. I quickly learned that he’s not the guy I initially saw him as. I don’t know how to put this tactfully, but he’s... simple. I don’t want to call him stupid, but he was very basic in a way I didn’t quite expect. Hence Basic Bro. But that, in a way, emboldened me. My inhibitions were lowered and I was able to be more honest with him since I wasn’t concerned about making a perfect impression or proving myself in any way. We’d spent about 3 hours together and my denim shirt was becoming inadequate for the evening cold. I told him this in hopes he’d put his arm around me, but he didn’t, and it was actually really fucking cold, so I invited him back to my apartment so I could grab a sweater. Of course, I wouldn’t mind if we didn’t go back outside, either... As it turned out, his phone was dead, so I let him charge it, and we just stayed inside. He seemed to be in no hurry to leave, but he didn’t make a move, either. I could have been more forward, but my self-doubt got the better of me. Our time involved a lot of, “So, what do you want to do now?” and I hoped that sitting next to each other on my bed would lead to something, but we just listened to records and played a very ineffective two-person game of Cards Against Humanity. He eventually left, late at night, having done nothing. I was okay with that, though - I think it’s important for me to not give into my impulses and actually get to know people before sleeping with them. I knew I’d see him the next day, anyway. DATE 2 It was 4/20, my favorite tacky holiday and also the day of our midterm. Our class runs from 1:30-4:20, and unfortunately our professor didn’t let us go after the test and lectured right up until the end. I caught up with Basic Bro after class as he was headed to the train, asking if he had 4/20 plans. He said he was probably just going to work on homework, and I said I was going to check out the campus celebration, just on my own. “Hey, actually, do you wanna like, get food or something?” I said sure, or we could smoke and then get food. We headed to the big lawn where everyone was getting high, there was free cotton candy and Krispy Kreme, and Basic Bro and I smoked and had an edible. While we were there, The Korean spotted me and called out my name. He was on a balcony and I was down below, so I didn’t have to see him up close, thank god. Honestly, and this is so rude, but his face repulses me now. I just waved back, “Hey!!” Basic Bro asked, “Who’s that?” “Oh, just a friend I used to work with.” “Are you gonna go say hi?” “Uhhh, haha, I already did, didn’t I?” Since I’m a petty bitch, I hope he was jealous when he saw me looking hot with my strappy bra and cute tacky weed shirt, hanging out with a more attractive guy. I can’t say for sure he felt that way, but he did start watching all my snapchat stories... Basic Bro took me to his favorite Thai place and we scarfed down some larb and pad see ew. Then we went to a bookstore/record shop where he bought some vinyl to christen his new turntable. We picked out some cheap records just based on their covers, including one with a woman riding a horse naked. Prime material for sexual jokes, right? I said, “Oh my god, I have to know what this sounds like,” and he said, “Oh yeah, of course you can listen.” The implication there is that we’d go back to my apartment again, so we did. And once again, it took a million years for him to make a move. We listened to record after record (he bought like 4), watched 3 episodes of The Office, and then, as we lay next to each other, he said, “Hey, can I ask you something? Sorry, this is kind of awkward. Do you like... like me?” What can I even say to that? I’m not interested in dating him and I don’t want him to get that impression. I just said, “Well, what do you think we’re doing here right now?” “Lying next to each other?” “Yeah.” “So what does that mean? Yes?” “Uh... yeah... Can I ask the same of you?” “Uh... yeah...” FINALLY. TIME TO GET DICKED DOWN! We made out and grinded against each other and it was so, so hot. Maybe it’s just because I’ve been deprived, and my last sexual experience was so disappointing, but this shit was amazing. Before we went any further, he told me that he and his girlfriend broke up a few weeks ago, but that he still sees and talks to her. I told him I didn’t care, but I wanted him to take the lead and only do what he’s comfortable with, because I don’t know what the situation is like. He was still pretty passive, though, and I had to be more dominant and directive, which is always annoying. I went down on him and honestly, daaaamn @ that dick. damn. Not huge but probably my ideal size, and thick, too. But because of this, I had trouble with the blowjob, and like so many guys do, he jumped to the face-fucking. He did check in with me throughout about consent, but I had to stop several times because it was getting overwhelming. Then he pulled another super fucking porn-y move and slapped his dick against my face. Maybe I’ve been too socialized to accept this shit, and I probably need to critically examine my place in the world as a sexually active woman, but I didn’t really mind it, at least in terms of sensation. If that’s what he likes, then whatever. I minded much more that it was a porn move, and I bet he doesn’t actually like it that much, he’s probably just emulating what he sees in videos. It’s funny, because in class that day, I saw him reading an article about this very topic - the myths about sex that young people learn from porn. I was getting sick of sucking his dick and wanted to move on to actual sex, but he couldn’t keep it up. I wasted three condoms on him! In all the time we spent together, he kept talking about his struggle to not be seen as a fuckboy, but then he suggested doing it without protection, saying “my ex had an IUD, we were fine” and “if you’ve only slept with a few people you trust, and they haven’t slept with many other people, I don’t see the issue.” Classic fuckboy move. I felt like his mother giving him a lecture about STDs, and how HPV doesn’t show symptoms in men, and why is he so confident that I’m clean, doesn’t he care about himself? Throughout, I could only think: “This fucking high schooler.” So we gave up, turned the lights on, and the first thing out of his dopey mouth is: “Uhhh, thanks for sucking my dick.” “Uh. Yeah. Sure.” And then: “So do girls actually like sucking dick?” This was reminiscent of a question he asked earlier, at lunch. “So, what do chicks, like, talk about?” Memories of all the bawdy, naive, insecure, cocky boys from my high school days came flowing back, making me feel all the dirtier for having hooked up with Basic Bro. I didn’t really know what to say, I mean, what kind of question is that? I just told him, “Uh, I like that the other person enjoys it, that’s what I get out of it. Maybe some people like it, but if most girls actually did, you’d probably see more people deepthroating cucumbers in their spare time.” And as if two incredibly awkward post-sex utterances weren’t enough, he went for a third. Yeah, the one before the cut. “How would you rate my dick on a scale of one to five? You know, like a Yelp review.” He’s probably now in competition with the Bolivian for weirdest things said right after hooking up. Now feeling way too old and done with this shit, I just said, “What the fuck? That’s such a fucking awkward question.” He said, “I know, I know, you don’t have to answer.” At least I had a cop-out: “I mean, I didn’t really experience the full extent of it, so I can’t tell you.” Well... It can only go uphill from here, right?
170224 First SF9 fansign experience
Hi so yes as what the title said I’ll be writing about my very first fansign experience in Seoul. I really wanted to go to a fansign at least for once in my life, and trust me, it’s worthit.
I’ve been liking SF9 (secretly) and I happen to be in Seoul during ROAR promotion. I went to Korea with two of my friends who, is a fan of EXO and the other one is not really a big fan of idols. I wanted to go to music shows to see them performing but I didn’t want to leave my friends so I ended up not going. However, on Tuesday, I suggested my friends to go see some idols leaving from The Show and they agreed so we went there and I saw SF9 for the first time. ;__; (ok sorry its not related to the fansign but I just wanted to share)
Here is the real story. On Monday, 20th Feb, SF9_FANCLUB announced on twitter that there will be a fansign at Yeouido on the 24th.
I was hesitating whether I should just try my luck (because fansign is a lottery and you are not guaranteed to go in). The period of buying the albums at the store are from 21~23 Feb, I needed to go to the store at Yeouido.
So basically here are the things you should take note:
Date and time of the fansign: 24th Feb 2017 at 7:30PM KST
Location of the fansign: Noryangjin CTS Art Hall (Private fansign) *private fansign means its inside a hall / *take note they usually don’t tell you which floor is the fansign hall so you need to ask the staffs there
Period of buying the albums: 21-23 Feb 2017 8PM KST
CD Store: Yeouido IFC Mall basement 2nd floor
Winner announcement: 23rd Feb 2017 10PM KST at ypbookstore website *it might different for fansigns
Short story I went to the mall and bought the albums, waited for the announcement and got into the fansign, it was like one of the happiest moment in my life.
Finally d-day I deadass still couldn’t believe I’m going to a fansign and went to the venue like super early because I don’t want to be late for it (lol). Waited for like 15 minutes outside the hall before we could pick a random number (for our seat inside) and then go in. I took a number and picked 32!!! I went inside and turns out I was in the middle 3rd row and I freaked out.
It was closer than what I expected and it was kinda like a 'Hot seat' because there were 2 people trying to exchange seats with me. Thank God I said I didn't want to, if not I won't be sitting infront of Hwiyoung (huhu).
When I was waiting for my turn, I called Hwiyoung because he was waiting for the next person to get signed and the fan sitting beside me (a korean) is super nice and friendly, she asked me if I wanted help because my voice was too soft (I was shy lol) so we called Hwiyoung together and he waved!! Anyway the seating arragement of the members that day are Zuho, Rowoon, Chani, Dawon, Jaeyoon, Inseong, Taeyang, Hwiyoung, Youngbin.
Before we go up to get our albums signed, the staff will tell us to put a small sticky note and write the members’ names so that it will be easier for them to find their page. We got to write post its for each member.
First was Zuho, damn.. He is so freaking hot I can’t breathe at that point, he signed the page, read my post it, I asked him if he were a girl who does he want to date. He answered no one, its better for him to be alone rather than dating the members lmao. And then he put down his pen, and stared at me I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY, I forgot what I wanted to say. So I was like “Hi, its my first time going to a fansign..” he responded “oh, its your first time? where are you from?” told him I come from Indonesia, he said he went there and Malaysia too when he was young but he forgot where was it. He asked me if Indonesia and Malaysia are just beside each other and I was like.. um yeah. LOL I was very nervous at that time. I even forgot that we are the same age because he really looks and speaks like an oppa I’m gone o<-< we said bye bye and he said let’s meet next time!
Next, Rowoon’s turn. His first impression was “Oh, Anastasia~!”. On my post it I asked him what to do if I miss him. He was like “If you miss me.... JUST COME!” asdfgsd... ;___; okay but for real I didn’t expect him to answer it like that so I was very flustered and was like “Uh?? Come??”. And since my korean isn’t that good I actually wanted to say “Where to get all the money?!” but I just ended up laughing... He continued “Whenever!” and he wrote “Come whenever, we are going to work hard.” Then I suddenly blurted out “Oppa, you’re so handsome” (Why.. in the world.. I said oppa..) He said “Ah no..” and then I continued “We are the same age but can I call you oppa?” Guess what was his answer? “Ofcourse you can!”. Then when I was about to move to Chani I said “I love you!!” and he gave me a ♡ sobs he’s the cutest. ;___;
Chani was so fluffy and cute with his mushroom-like hair. I asked him how old do I look and we had some miscommunication right there and I just told him that I’m a 96liner. He asked me where do I come from, told him from Indonesia and asked if he knows Indonesia (LOL SORRY) and he said “ofcourse I know!!!!”. He said I look like a cat sobs and drew a cat for me and he did that “Jjan~~~ jjan~~~~” sound while drawing. I told him I watch Signal and he said thankyou and bye bye.
Next was Dawon. I don’t know how to explain, he’s such a bias wrecker and is VERY handsome irl I was so mind blown. When he first read my name he said “Anastasia? It’s not your real name right???” Damn Dawon, tbh I was abit sad back then, feels like the name doesn’t suit me that you had to ask something like that lmao :\ he also asked if in Indonesia they use ‘Anastasia’ as names, I was confused???? Seriously, he needs to come to Indonesia and see that there are alot of pretty names here.. Okay continue, I asked him to write a message for me in english. He forgot about english for a moment and was like “What is there to write..” so I told him its fine to write in korean. In the end he wrote “Thank u for coming.. I love you” love his effort eventhough its just a simple message. Before I move on the Jaeyoon, he said my name is pretty~
Jaeyoon is the most sincere person omg I just love him so much he’s so nice and so bubbly!! He also asked if Anastasia is my real name and I was like yes! Then he signed the page and read the post it I asked him what does international fans mean to him. He tried to speak english because he knew I’m not from Korea I’m so touched ;___; but he had some difficulties so I told him that he could use korean!! He was so shocked and was like “OOOHHHH” CUTEST! He told me that international fans are his power.
Previous Chapter: #HAPPY20THBAMBAMDAY Word Count: 3,867 Summary: Another study session happens, but no real studying actually happens.
Like Oh 2.0 masterlist
chapter 13 for y’all, if any is reading or interested. this chapter takes place near the middle to end of May where finals and studying happens or whatever... but yeah, happy reading and kthxbai, Admin Lia~
It was a late Friday morning where Serena was having a study session with her sister and two friends deciding to crash it. "Aren't your exams in like two weeks? Why not study with the actual kids in your classes?" "They honestly would rather study alone." Jasmine informed Serena. "Yeah, they find it distracting or something." Jeannie added. "Anyways," Melanie began as she emerged from the kitchen with several drinks and snacks in hand and settled herself with the other three at the new coffee table Serena had bought several days ago. "The other girls don't wanna study today and they actually went on an all day group date and so we thought we just study with you since we're done with group dates."  "Uh huh." Serena let out as she put on some background music to listen to while studying.
"How many classes are you guys taking?" Serena asked the trio upon seeing three large stacks of textbooks. "I thought you guys were only taking like four classes each?" "I have four classes." Melanie clarified as she grabbed her textbooks from the pile. "And I have six." Jasmine said as she did the same with grabbing her textbooks while Jeannie moved the rest towards her. "For me I have seven this semester." "Wow." Serena looked at the others impressed. "Yeah, I don't think I can help much since y'all majoring in different departments." "Well, I'm sure you're pretty smart, Serena." Jeannie smiled as Serena eyed her. "Only on some things. I'm not that smart on everything." "Well, Melanie said you should be able to help us." Jasmine reasoned as Serena let out a wry laugh. "Ha, because she's lazy."
Melanie grinned. "That's true. Anyways, four heads are better than one." "I guess." Serena sighed and then looked at the trio. "So what do you guys actually need help on and then we can work from there?" The younger women went through their materials as they sorted out what they needed help most on and handed Serena their stuff so she could overview them. Serena let out a deep sigh upon seeing everything. "You guys don't need me. You guys need an actual tutor." "Well, we're not leaving." Melanie stated. "We're already here." "Yeah, I know." Serena took off her glasses to rub her face, but didn't put them back on while letting out a deep breath. "Alright, I'll just quiz you guys and read some stuff and you tell me the answers and what not." Serena told them as she looked at them. "Who wants to go first?"
~~~~~~~
"Let's take a break." Jasmine suggested after two hours of studying. "I'm hungry." "Yeah, me, too. Let's order in." Jeannie said as she closed her book. "Or go out to eat." "Ooh, I've been craving Korean barbecue. Let's go to Seabyeokjib." Melanie agreed as Serena shook her head. "No. You guys can get that, I'll eat something else." "What's wrong with KBBQ?" Jeannie asked as Serena eyed them. "We had that a few days ago and last week. I want a break from that." "We're in Korea, Serena." Jasmine deadpanned. "What do you expect?" "Nothing, Jasmine. There are just other things to eat, too, besides KBBQ." "Point taken, but we're getting KBBQ." Jeannie grinned as she and the other two stood up to stretch with Serena lying on her back. "Okay, that's fine. I'll just order something."
Just as the trio were gonna leave there was a knock on the door. "That better not be who I think it is?" Serena muttered as she moved onto her side while Melanie went to check it. "It's some of your favorite people." Melanie said with a laugh after looking through the peephole. "Should I let them in?" "No." Serena deadpanned as Jeannie smacked the older woman on the hip. "Don't be mean." "Don't care." "Just let them in." Jasmine said as Melanie did. "Hi!" She greeted them. "What are you guys doing here?" "Oh, we wanted to study." Yugyeom answered with a smile. "What about you guys?" "Us, too." Melanie let the group of five inside and then looked at Jaebeom. "How come you're here?" Jaebeom shrugged with a small smile. "Might as well since it's exams week." "Haha, right. It is."
The twins greeted the idols as they made themselves comfortable around the table. "Nice table." Mark complimented as Melanie replied him. "Yeah, it took forever to find something she liked and to get it in here." "I don't doubt it." "Where is Jyongri noona?" Youngjae asked upon not seeing the older woman around. "Unnie ran off to her bedroom." Jeannie laughed. "Jyongri unnie booked it once Minjae unnie said to let you guys in." "But we need noona's help for our English exam in two weeks." Youngjae pouted as Jasmine looked at him in confusion. "Don't you have Mark and Jackson that can help you? BamBam knows, too." "Jackson hyung and BamBam are busy due to their Real Men schedule." Jinyoung explained. "Ah, that's right."
Serena suddenly emerged from her room with excited as she ran over to Melanie. "Dude, look." She flashed her phone towards Melanie's direction. "Vidia gave birth a few hours ago and Cameron just posted pictures of the boys!" "Aww, how cute." Melanie cooed as she scrolled through the group chat with the siblings. "Dude, did they really take my advice to name the kids Markson and Jinson?" "Yeah they did." Serena laughed as she took back her phone to respond back to the boys as Jeannie turned to the sisters with a puzzled look. "You mean that Cam and Vid named their kids Markson and Jinson after the GOT7 pairing?" "Yeah." Melanie and Serena replied in unison. "I wish Jessica did that when I suggested her to name her son, Micky." Jasmine frowned. "I thought it was a cute name." "It is."
"It's their middle names." Serena explained. "Markson's Eric while Jinson's Levi." "That's hella cute." Melanie grabbed her own phone to respond in the group chat. "Eric Markson Kingsley and Levi Jinson Kingsley." Jasmine said the full name out loud as Jeannie agreed upon hearing it. "That's seriously cute." Because the girls' conversation was in English only Mark understood what was going on while the other four looked at him for full explanation. "Someone in noona's family gave birth to nephews and they were named Markson and Jinson." "Like the shipping names from fans?" Jaebeom asked a bit confused. "Yeah." Mark confirmed as the four women were surrounding the mobile devices to see more pictures of the newborns in their own little world.
Youngjae looked at the others. "So are we gonna study?" "I don't think so." Yugyeom said. "Noona has a Nintendo 64 and a PlayStation 2." Mark whispered to the others. "Wanna play?" "Shouldn't we ask first, hyung?" Jinyoung asked as Mark shook his head with a grin. "Nah, noona always lets me play with it whenever I come over." "How many times do you come over, hyung?" Jaebeom asked with a raised eyebrow as Mark grinned sly. "Usually it's whenever we study for Chinese class and to steal some of her snacks and drinks on most days." "Yeah! I'm down!" Yugyeom inputted happily. "Jyongri noona has the best snacks and she doesn't mind when we play with the game consoles whenever we come over, too."
"So while they're distracted let's play." Mark urged as the quintet maneuvered their way over to the entertainment system to set up the consoles while Serena noticed what the males were doing as the rest scrolled through the many pictures. Serena smirked as she stood up with her mobile device and stretched her limbs. "Well, no point in studying." Serena indicated her head at the boys for the girls to see what she meant. "Well, don't care as I'm still hungry." Melanie stated as she also stood with the twins following along. "Are you gonna be okay, Serena?" Jeannie asked with a small smile as the older woman eyed her friend. "What do you mean?" "We're still gonna go out to eat at Seabyeokjib." Jasmine answered as Serena shrugged. "It's whatever. They're like the bros back home." "True." Melanie agreed.
"Do you want anything when we come back?" Jeannie asked as Serena shook her head. "Nah, I'll order something." "Alright then just let us know." Jasmine told Serena as Melanie sidled up to her sister with a cheeky look. "Just make sure to keep tabs on my man, okay?" "Yeah, sure, whatever." Serena shooed her away with a roll of her eyes. "Have fun you three." "Will do." The quartet then looked at the males who were still occupied. "If they ask, then I'll just tell them you all went back to campus." "What's the date today?" Jeannie asked with widened eyes. "The twenty-seventh." Melanie replied. "Shit. I have to meet up with my advisor today. It's about one of my classes because the teacher was being difficult about one of my papers."
Jeannie gathered her school belongings. "It wouldn't have been a problem if that teacher actually didn't change the due dates all the time." "Hope your advisor sides with you." Serena comforted her friend as Melanie agree. "They better. That happened last semester to me, but the teacher wanted to fail me because he thought I was cheating." "That's dumb." Jasmine frowned, but then looked at her sister. "I'll go back with you, Jean." Jasmine offered as she gathered her things, too. "I have to meet up with Ahri, anyways." "Thanks, Jas." "Am I suppose to eat KBBQ alone?" "Yeah." The trio answered with a laugh as Melanie rolled her eyes. "Whatever, but I don't want pizza." "Then you order." Serena said as she went to her room after saying goodbye to the twins while Melanie walked out her friends. Melanie then turned to face the boys playing video games while searching for places to order from her phone. "Can't forget about them."
~~~~~~~
After eating fried chicken Melanie was setting up Apples to Apples to help Jinyoung, Younjae, and Yugyeom with their English suggested by Serena who later had to go to work on short last minute. Mark seemed a little upset that Serena had to go, but didn't mention it. "Ready to play?" Melanie asked after she got done explaining how the game went. "Can we play, too?" Jaebeom asked as he and Mark were sitting off to the side. "Yeah." Melanie nodded. "All six of us can play the game." Just then Melanie's phone went off and she answered it. "What chu want?" She answered in English as the person on the other end greeted and started talking about something. "Isn't it late over there for you? Um, yeah, hold on, Cam." She said as she moved the phone's end piece away from her mouth.
"You can play without me." She said switching to Korean and then looked at Mark. "Can you lead them, please?" And Melanie went back to speaking on the phone and towards the kitchen. Mark did as he was asked with a grin on his face. "That means I'm in charge." "For now, hyung." Jinyoung countered as Jaebeom would glance a few times towards the kitchen. "What are you looking at, hyung?" Youngjae asked him which startled Jaebeom. "Hmm?" He faced Youngjae. "Nothing. Let's play." Jaebeom glanced again towards the kitchen area, but returned his focus onto the game when Mark started talking. As for Melanie, the young woman had settled herself at the kitchen table with her secret stash of white macadamia nuts cookies while talking to her so-called first brother, Cameron, through video chat.
"I know it's three AM my time, Lani, but I can't sleep. Vid finally fell asleep. The newborns are in the nursery and I'm alone with no one to spaz with." Cameron laughed as he ran a hand through his hair. "Haha, sure, Cam. What about the other three?" Melanie asked with a raised eyebrow as the older male laughed. "Car has to deal with his own kids and I'm sure it's like five or six in New York while James is still at work and Nick's on his way to see Alice right now." "So basically that leaves me or Lina, right?" "Yeah, but Lina's phone is always on silent or vibrate so you were the last resort." "What else is new?" Melanie laughed while biting into her cookie. "Did you eat yet?" "Yeah, a little because I didn't really have an appetite. Nerves you know." "Hmm, I see, but anyways, Markson and Jinson? Really?"
Cameron laughed. "Haha yeah, well, Vid's a K-Pop fan, too, y'know, Lani. Which I still blame you and Lina for her music obsession to this day." "Hey, don't hate, but Levi and Eric are cute names." "Yeah." Cameron then remembered something. "Dude, Carson and Savannah's kids' names are the same way." "Oh, right. They are. I totally forgot that." "Yeah, Vid did the same thing as Van." "Ethan Xiah Kingsley and Emily Boah Kingsley." Melanie recalled with a grin. "Car still blames you and Lina for getting her nto K-Pop." "Don't hate." Melanie dismissed as she ate more of her cookies. "How you doing? We need to get together when we're out of school." "Everyone's planning to visit us in July. Will y'all be back for summer?" "Lina and are I will be, but the twins are going to Vietnam instead."
Melanie explained as Cameron's face fell. "Oh really? We don't get to see the twins much" He scrunched up his face as Melanie laughed. "True, but Lina and I care only to see the newborn nephews." "Wow, rude." "And the other babies and your wives. Don't care for you boys." "Wow and I thought I was your favorite. So mean. Cameron made a mean face at her as Melanie laughed. "All day and every day." "Anyways, find a Korean boyfriend yet?" Cameron wriggled his eyebrows playfully. "Maybe." Melanie grinned as the older male's eyes widened with surprised. "Really?" "No." "C'mon. I want some nieces and nephews." "We're not blood-related." "By association we are." "I forget you and the other three would always come over." "True. Mom fed us and Dad taught us handiwork stuff." "Because your dad is a well known player and you guys' moms weren't around much." "True."
The two continued to converse until Cameron noticed someone hovering over his so-called sister. "You said you didn't have a boyfriend, right?" "Yeah, why?" "Then who's the guy behind you, hmm?" The older male tried to lean closer to the screen to see as Melanie turned to see Jaebeom standing behind her. "Later." She turned to smiled at the older male who was about to say something as he shot her a suspicious look, but Melanie ended the call in a hurry. "Oh hey, JB, what's up?" Melanie smiled at the idol after hastily hanging up on her eldest so-called brother who began to call her back a second later, but Melanie muted her phone and flipped it over so the light wouldn't continue to visibly flash. "Hey." He lamely let out with a sheepish smile while rubbing the back of his neck. "Did I disturb you?"
Melanie shook her head. "Just catching up with someone." Jaebeom slowly nodded. "Someone special?" "Nah. Just a friend who's like an older brother to me. We've known each other since we were little." Melanie propped her left elbow onto the table to lean her chin onto her closed fist. "What are you doing here? The boys kick you out or something?" Jaebeom's eyes returned to gaze at the older woman and shot her a small smile. "No. They were just getting annoying." He finally took a seat with her and Melanie remembered something. "Oh, thanks by the way." Jaebeom looked at her puzzled. "For what?" "Your friend, Kyungtae." "Yeah, you're welcome. The guys and I had a talk with him and knocked some real good sense into that brain of his to make him realize what he was doing."
Melanie let out a relieved sigh with a nod. "He apologized to me the other day and just said that it was all in his head. Something about his last girlfriend and why he based everything on that." "Yeah, she messed with his head real good and made him guilty about a lot of things, but she was the one that broke it off with him after using him for his money and other things." Jaebeom explained as Melanie shook her head. "Poor guy. I hope the next girl he likes actually treats him well." "Me, too." Melanie picked up one of her cookies and offered it towards him. "I don't usually share, but you seem kind of weird. Are you okay?" "Oh yeah. I'm fine." Jaebeom assured her as he declined the offered of the baked good. "Don't worry about me, Chaewon noona." He shot her a smile as Melanie regarded him a little.
"If you say so." She bit into the cookie. "How are your finals going?" "It sucks." He admitted with a groan while rubbing his face, but stopped soon after. "The teacher wanted us to dissect a film from beginning to end while giving our opinion on why the director filmed it like this and that and yeah. It's a lot of work." "I don't doubt it." Silence fell between them, but not in an awkward way. Just as Jaebeom was about to say something, Youngjae's loud voice caught there attention. "Don't do that! No! You cannot just make up words! Yah!" Melanie turned her attention onto the idol before her. "Are they, and I mean Youngjae, normally this loud?" "Yes, but it's usually when he play games or something." Jaebeom's lips quirked into a small smile. "You'll get used to it eventually." "That, I can agree for sure."
~~~~~~~
Serena returned to her apartment close to three in the morning and saw that the boys including BamBam and Jackson were all knocked out in her living room with the television and lights still on. Melanie was no where in sight and Serena assumed that her sister must have went to sleep and left the boys to do their own thing. "So this is what she meant about the mess in the living room. Wow." Serena muttered to herself as she quietly made her way to her room to drop off her things and change. When she emerged from out her room she went to refresh herself in the bathroom before observing what to do in her living room. "Why would they crash here when they just live like thirty seconds away?" The older woman asked herself in a hushed tone as she went about cleaning up the mess with a shake of her head.
After several long minutes Serena got her living room as clean as possible and had turned off the TV. She went to grab the spare blankets and pillows for the boys to use and brought out the night light so she could turn off the main lights. Once she was done Serena returned to her room to grab her mobile device before she went to the kitchen to fix herself a light snack. When the older woman was settled at the dining table Serena accessed the Skype application on her cell phone to call back her so-called third brother, James. "Sup, boo." James greeted as Serena rolled her eyes, but greeted him back with a small grin while biting into her ham sandwich. "Hey, Jerk. So what did you want to show me that couldn't be posted onto any of your stupid social media accounts, hmm?"
"Okay, Lina, one, rude." James held up his index finger before making a peace sign. "And second, because of this!" The older male lifted up the hood part of his outfit before standing back to show Serena the whole outfit of a minion kigurumi. "Tada!" Serena had to lean closer to her phone screen as she wasn't wearing her glasses or contacts. "Wow." "I knew you'd like it." James stated as Serena face-palmed herself in a tired manner. "You for real?" She shook her head as her eyes focused on the male again. "You bothered me about a minion pajama?" "Hey, you wanted one. I got a set for all the siblings." "So for you and the boys? That's cute." "Stop. You know that you and Lani are included, too." "I hope not. I don't wanna wear that." Serena chuckled as James rolled his eyes and returned back to sitting down again.
"Don't be rude when you know you care just as much." "Shut up." "See." "Whatever, James." "Anyways," Serena began as she swept a hand through her hair, "If there's nothing else, I'm gonna hang up." James tsked. "Tch, always so mean." "All day, every day." "You sound like Lani." "Do not." "Yeah you do." "No even." "Like yes, you do, Lina." "Bye." "Ugh, fine, Miss Rude Ass." James let out sulkily as Serena laughed. "Fine. I know it's hella late for you over there and I have to get ready for work in fifteen minutes." "Thanks." "You're welcome. Aight then. Late." "Later and don't be late." "I'm never late." "Sure, bye." "Peace out." The two waved goodbye as Serena ended the call first and brushed her hair from out of her face to bite into her sandwich.
Serena then heard a slight scuffling sound and turned towards the direction and saw a male silhouette standing at the entrance of the kitchen. "Oh hey." Serena spoke in Korean as she couldn't tell who it was. "Did I wake you?" "No." He replied in a soft and raspy tone while running a hand through his hair as he walked closer and Serena realized it was Mark. "I went to use the toilet and saw the kitchen light was on." The idol explained before letting out a yawn and sitting in the seat beside her. "When did you get back?" "Not that long ago." Serena answered him while starting on her last sandwich. "How come y'all crashed here again?" Mark let out a chuckle as he rubbed his tired eyes. "We didn't plan to, but we were just lazy to walk back when it got super late." "Wow." "Yeah, I know."
Silence fell between, but it wasn't an awkward one. Serena noticed Mark rubbing at his eyes again. "Go back to sleep. You must be tired." Mark shook his head with a smile. "It's okay. The life of an idol, right?" "I wouldn't really know the answer." "Do you wanna know though?" "But do I really wanna know is the likely question." "You wouldn't be able to handle the truth." "Shut up, Mark." The male idol laughed in response as Serena rolled her eyes and finished her sandwich. "Well, I'm going to bed. You can stay up and sit in the kitchen all by yourself." "That's just weird." Now it was Serena's turned to laugh in response as she cleaned her dish and put it away with Mark following her out of the kitchen. "Well, good night, Mark, and sweet dreams." "Thanks. Sweet dreams and good night to you, too, Serena."
