SO I'm officially back in Whitewave, going through families and giving them and their houses makeovers since I'm missing a lot of CC I used to have back when I actively played Whitewave. So I thought I'd take quick pictures of all sims as I move through them, and throw them out here!

Here's the Aoki household, consisting of parents Rayna, Oliver and Neil, and their kids Olivia and Rey. And one more kid is on the way! Rayna is the oldest sibling of the third generation of Limestones.

PSA about my screenshots/gifs going forward!

soo due to issues with my screenshots being reuploaded to other platforms without credits/being watermarked by other people (which why tf do ppl do that its so weird), I will be adding my own watermark to my screenshots and gifs from now on...

HOWEVER, I know people like to use my stuff for wallpapers/edits/banners, etc., so I have made a google drive folder where I will upload all of my unedited/unwatermarked screenshots/gifs (also uncompressed gifs! yayyy higher quality!!).

MAYBE I am being too much about this, but it does bother me because I do put a lot of time and effort into the content I make for bg3, even if it isnt like art or something.. and im trying NOT to be dramatic about it, nor do i like getting upset at people for it; a lot of people dont know if/think screenshots/gifs of a game need to be credited (which i get.. disappointingly, i was the same way before, it just never crossed my mind). Or maybe people just dont care lol.

SO hopefully doing it this way will make it so mostly my watermarked stuff is reuploaded and my unwatermarked stuff can still be seen/used! I don't mind if you reupload/use the unwatermarked versions, just add your own version of credit

Question i know you use sfm to make your comics but may I ask what the process is like? I’m thinking about making a tf2 comic which I’ve already made a few panels for but I wasn’t happy with the plot so I’m starting over from scratch, and drawing with a mouse Isn’t the most efficient way of making comics, would you recommend sfm for making tf2 comics?

How I Make My Comics

Omg yes I’ve been wanting to make a post like this! I definitely recommend SFM for making comics, I think it’s a lot faster than drawing would be, especially if you plan on including backgrounds. (Also, drawing tf2 characters is Hard😭)

Here’s how I made page 22!

First in SFM I set up the scene with a map from the workshop I liked. I also used the workshop for a bunch of props and character models and stuff.

(I did a decent amount of model hacking for this scene too. The model for Prison Uniform Cap is literally just her head shoved onto the recolored body of the open fortress mercenary from the workshop after I messed with his proportions to match Cap’s body shape better.)

Here’s what the scene setup for one of the panels looks like:

After I set the scene up, I make each of the panels as it’s own shot in the Clip Editor.

Here’s what each of the unedited panels for this page look like in sfm:

After those are done, I export them as posters in 4K, then upload them to Google Drive so I can access them on my iPad.

After I download the pictures onto my iPad, I open Procreate and start with a black 4x6 background:

Then I import the images:

After this, I crop and resize them, and then arrange them on the page how I want:

Then, I use a special brush for making speech bubbles (brushes like this can be downloaded for free):

Then I add the text in a font that looks similar to the one the official tf2 comics use:

After that, I add effects using text as well. I have a few different fonts downloaded depending on what kind of effect I want:

And effects like motion lines I draw in myself

Finally, I add my watermark on there

The page is now finished and ready to be exported as a PNG!

Lmk if there’s anything I should clarify or go more in-depth with, like model hacking, posing, or text/visual effects!

Finished editing this part of the "Seigi no Koe ga Kikoerukai" (also known as "Can you hear the voice of justice" apparently, and "正義の声が聞こえるかい") Album booklet foldout thing. You can kinda tell where the middle meets in the 'colour fix alt' version bc I was only using the copy stamp in CSP and no other tools like blur to try and keep the quality high. I selected and copied a bunch of areas for the screen behind them; the polkadots didn't line up at all (even in the unedited the pattern doesn't seem to) so I did what I could to make it look passable. Only thing I borrowed from another image was the end of Barnaby's mic, which I took from the cover itself and had to resize.

Anyway uh enjouy. use it for whatever you want. These are pngs and originally scanned and saved as a tiff.
