I don't get this 1977 villa in Annivitti, Manziana Italy (part of Rome). The design is just weird. 5bds, 3ba, €470K / $503K. I know, there will those of you who "unironically love it," but at least admit it's weird. Calling it "The Transformer House."
In the huge main room, the fireplace and conversation pit are central and you can see the mezzanine, clear up to the glass rooftop.
That's some fireplace. It looks like you burn logs and stuff on that flat surface and it goes straight up the flue.
Also, sliding doors all around the room open to the yard.
Since it is a mid-century modern home, the kitchen features original cabinetry.
The tower you see on the exterior is for the stairs.
At the top of the stairs, there's the fireplace chimney and I don't know if the little ladder is decorative or if it has a purpose.
Looking down from the mezzanine.
The bedrooms are weird, but meant to be flexible spaces. Those protrusions on the sides of the house are the bedrooms. This one has a wooden platform for the mattress, and a built-in closet.
You can put mattresses on the tiers, too.
Then, at the top is a glass window so you can see down to the property.
This bath is pretty spacious.
The bedrooms offer different options. This one has an air mattress on the floor.
In this one, the mattress is on one of the tiers.
This bath features colorful MCM tile.
Stairs leading to the basement.
Rec room with a fireplace. I don't know what the triangular thing is.
The basement has glass sky lights along the ceiling. The description says "tavern," so it mean mean the bar on the left.
I don't know what this structure is.
Some sort of pyramid outside. Looks like you can go in there?
It appears to be the top of this roof.
Bedroom protruding out the side of the house.
Looks like there's a lot of nice property, approx. 2.47 acres, but according to the description the house needs to be refurbished.
why dost the royal veronian family look so........ unique?? like, county paris escalus himself looks as if his mother and uncle had a very close relationship 😕
I wanted to use ink again and draw one of silly moments from my fanfic that I like. I have little story about Italy and Russia looking at jellyfishes just because why not, it makes me feel better…
Usually I can’t do this, but this time I recorded a bit (actually about an hour of drawing) so I want to leave it here. I know it’s still 5 minutes long…
That gifset of Daniel in the garage with his emotional support backpack kills me every time esp when I just learnt that apparently the Ricciardos mortgaged their farm and sold belongings to get money when Daniel went to Italy 😭😭
I know I know 😭😭. Seeing his little smile, him trying to be so brave about everything when it must have been hurting so much. And then you think about how he’s always said how much of a home body he used to be as a kid, how much that first year in Italy was so hard being away from his family and friends and how he had to remind himself to make the sacrifices worth it … not to mention that one video that came out around that time where he mentions ‘you need a team. You can’t do it alone’.
It must have been the worst kind of feeling to walk into the paddock that day, knowing everyone is looking at you and yet feeling alone :((
it's always faintly amusing to me when people post pictures of like, the Eiffel Tower and they're like "photographed in Paris, France" like thanks for specifying it was France I thought it might be the famous Eiffel Tower of Paris, Texas
Look at this adorable 1960 mushroom house in Val Maremola, Savona, Italy. It has 1bd & 2 baths and is priced at 109,000 € / $118,688K.
There’s a spacious sitting room area with a great ceiling. (Although I did feature those stairs in my “Stairs that will kill you” posts.)
The dining area also has the beamed ceiling and a beautiful stone fireplace.
Apparently the kitchen is equipped for making just about anything, and look at the pizza oven.
Here’s a curvy bathroom sink/laundry area.
And, this a shower room w/toilet.
View from the 2nd level.
They have a double desk set up here, but if you look at the lower right hand corner, You’ll notice that the chair is precariously close to the opening in the floor. I wouldn’t advise this setup.
The bedroom is pretty big.
The 2nd bath is a full bath.
There’s a nice patio with little cement mushrooms. How cute is that?
i was just now thinking how effectively this kinda is a blog now about spanish / iberian stuff, but i will never brand it as such as i've seen other blogs i follow do with their countries / cultures / regions cause due to the context here, there is no way i can do it without thinking of myself a fascist lol.
it's funny how when you'll give actual explanations as to why people are racist or transphobic or something similar, like how that happens and why it's happening now out of all times, that go beyond "white people/cishet people evil" so many people will instantly attack you for "apologia"
I think it kinda comes from this idea that identity politics has pushed that people of the unmarked categories like male white and cishet can't possibly struggle with things in life. but economic crises, which we have been in for 16 years now, affect everyone that's not part of the ruling class. prolonged economic instability alienates people from the status quo, from established parties, rhetoric and such. they begin to look elsewhere for solutions. the powers that be know to counteract this with reactionary politics. using scapegoating they'll promise the return to an (often imaginary) better yesterday, the very definition of reactionary politics.
these ideas sound plausible and actionable. things used to be better after all. those scapegoats used to not be there (as visibly) after all.
the way of solving this isn't to go "waaahh people are evil and fascism is back, woe is me" but to a) point out that these reactionary politics are not going to solve the problem because they are not the cause b) point out the actual cause of the problem (capitalism) c) offer actual alternatives (organizing, strikes, expropriating the bourgeoisie, and eventually total labor democracy)
