The Books of the Bible: Old Testament (1 of 2) The Books of the Bible in order with introductions and summaries for the Old Testament.
Tumblr media
The Five Books of the Law: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy
Genesis The Book of Genesis is the first book of the Christian Old Testament. Genesis speaks of beginnings and is foundational to the understanding of the rest of the Bible. It is supremely a book that speaks about relationships, highlighting those between God and his creation, between God and humankind, and between human beings.
Exodus The Book of Exodus is the second book of the Christian Old Testament. Exodus describes the history of the Israelites leaving Egypt after slavery. The book lays a foundational theology in which God reveals his name, his attributes, his redemption, his law and how he is to be worshiped.
Leviticus The Book of Leviticus is the third book of the Christian Old Testament. Leviticus receives its name from the Septuagint (the pre-Christian Greek translation of the Old Testament) and means "concerning the Levites" (the priests of Israel). It serves as a manual of regulations enabling the holy King to set up his earthly throne among the people of his kingdom. It explains how they are to be his holy people and to worship him in a holy manner.
Numbers The Book of Numbers is the fourth book of the Christian Old Testament. Numbers relates the story of Israel's journey from Mount Sinai to the plains of Moab on the border of Canaan. The book tells of the murmuring and rebellion of God's people and of their subsequent judgment.
Deuteronomy The Book of Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Christian Old Testament. Deuteronomy ("repetition of the Law") serves as a reminder to God's people about His covenant. The book is a "pause" before Joshua's conquest begins and a reminder of what God required.
Historical Books: Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, and 1 and 2 Chronicles
Joshua Joshua is a story of conquest and fulfillment for the people of God. After many years of slavery in Egypt and 40 years in the desert, the Israelites were finally allowed to enter the land promised to their fathers.
Judges The book of Judges depicts the life of Israel in the Promised Land—from the death of Joshua to the rise of the monarchy. It tells of urgent appeals to God in times of crisis and apostasy, moving the Lord to raise up leaders (judges) through whom He throws off foreign oppressors and restores the land to peace.
Ruth The book of Ruth has been called one of the best examples of short narrative ever written. It presents an account of the remnant of true faith and piety in the period of the judges through the fall and restoration of Naomi and her daughter-in-law Ruth (an ancestor of King David and Jesus).
1 Samuel Samuel relates God's establishment of a political system in Israel headed by a human king. Through Samuel's life, we see the rise of the monarchy and the tragedy of its first king, Saul.
2 Samuel After the failure of King Saul, 2 Samuel depicts David as a true (though imperfect) representative of the ideal theocratic king. Under David's rule the Lord caused the nation to prosper, to defeat its enemies, and to realize the fulfillment of His promises.
1 Kings 1 Kings continues the account of the monarchy in Israel and God's involvement through the prophets. After David, his son Solomon ascends the throne of a united kingdom, but this unity only lasts during his reign. The book explores how each subsequent king in Israel and Judah answers God's call—or, as often happens, fails to listen.
2 Kings 2 Kings carries the historical account of Judah and Israel forward. The kings of each nation are judged in light of their obedience to the covenant with God. Ultimately, the people of both nations are exiled for disobedience.
1 Chronicles Just as the author of Kings had organized and interpreted Israel's history to address the needs of the exiled community, so the writer of 1 Chronicles wrote for the restored community another history.
2 Chronicles 2 Chronicles continues the account of Israel's history with an eye for restoration of those who had returned from exile.
Books of Poetry and Songs: Esther, Ezra, and Nehemiah
Ezra The book of Ezra relates how God's covenant people were restored from Babylonian exile to the covenant land as a theocratic (kingdom of God) community even while continuing under foreign rule.
Nehemiah Closely related to the book of Ezra, Nehemiah chronicles the return of this "cupbearer to the king" and the challenges he and the other Israelites face in their restored homeland.
Esther Esther records the institution of the annual festival of Purim through the historical account of Esther, a Jewish girl who becomes queen of Persia and saves her people from destruction.

Searing documentary encapsulates the experience of war

It’s the screaming that gets me.
As a former U.S. Army combat medic, the blood and gore doesn’t affect me very much nowadays. I trained for that, studied it, and feel as comfortable as one can get, really, in its presence.
No, there’s nothing that troubles me more deeply, nothing that keeps me up at night longer, than the horrific agony laid out by a tormented woman or child.
I’ve often said that being a war correspondent is like carrying a cup around. You travel from place to place, and everywhere you go, people are having the worst day of their lives. And they trust you enough to pour a little bit of their grief in your cup.
And from there it fills.
The documentary ‘20 Days in Mariupol,’ which was released this month, encapsulates that experience. It chronicles the frantic, desperate, fearful first twenty days of the Russian full-scale invasion from an encircled Ukrainian city.
Tumblr media

I can picture those first days well. The AP team which filmed the documentary endured far greater risk to stay behind and document the atrocities in Mariupol. Meanwhile, I had joined the exodus of civilians – a mass of millions of people – leaving the capital city of Kyiv and its surroundings as the Russian military tried to encircle it.
"Wars don't start with explosions, they start with silence,” the film begins.
And it’s true: the morning of February 24th, 2022, I left my hotel in search of a car to evacuate our team. The streets were eerily empty. I recall, too, on the second night of the invasion, sitting with a large number of people in silent shock, waiting in a bomb shelter in Vinnytsia, a city in central Ukraine.
Tumblr media

I remember the sleepless nights, with lights off and the glow of cellphones lighting up large rooms, everyone unable to rest, glued to social media for the latest scraps of information from the frontlines.
I remember the sense of unity and spirit of purpose as nearly every single person offered to volunteer – some people putting tape on windows; others making camouflage nets by hand; while those who could offered up their homes and businesses to the mass of displaced people. Many others volunteered to go off to combat, never to return.
I remember the hallmarks of the conflict: Shrapnel marks on the buildings, broken windows, refugees with cats and dogs and rabbits in tow, children dragging bags far too large for them to carry.
"I don't want to die," says a child captured in the documentary. "I just woke up from bombings today."
The experience of war is first and foremost the suffering of those who are not fighting. Civilians almost always outnumber the combatants, and these defenseless people are scared and scarred.
In '20 Days in Mariupol,' the documentarians capture the raw essence of that fear and anguish.
"My baby, oh God!" cries out a mother as emergency workers attempt CPR on a child.
The next shot is a child, naked except for a coat placed over her body.
She is shown intubated and lifeless.
Despite their best efforts the medics, nurses and doctors couldn't save her.

I recommend this film for the same reason that I warn against it. It is searing. It lacerates your soul in the same way that war does with its pointlessness and its travesty. But it is necessary.
"This is painful to watch,” acknowledges the narrator. “But it must be painful to watch."
Several times while watching the documentary, I wanted to pick up the laptop and hurl it across the room. Whether it was anger or unacknowledged sadness I am not sure. But I did want it to stop. At other times, I found myself zoning out, disassociating from the film, before coming back to the screen.
The documentary settles on the image of an 16 year old boy with his legs blown off. He was beyond saving. His father approaches the body and wails, producing a sound that can only emanate from the deepest point of the darkest pool of anguish.
It’s Biblical. Primal. Animalistic.
The child's body is later put in a black bag and unceremoniously rolled into what would generously be called a mass grave, and is probably most aptly described as a narrow trench.
Mstyslav Chernov, Vasilisa Stepanenko and Evgeniy Maloletka are the three Associated Press journalists who risked their lives to sneak this footage out of Mariupol, narrowly escaping the encircled city and making it to Ukrainian territory so that now-infamous images of Russia’s attack on the city’s maternity hospital could be broadcast.
Tumblr media

Many of the images in the film would be too graphic for the evening news. But it’s the honest truth of what war takes from those who are subject to it.
The reality leads to a sort of calloused cynicism that arises from the documentary. Does the story-telling make a difference in the grand scheme of things? The world is aware of the atrocities and the crimes. And yet, it continues.
"We have seen so many dead people, dead children -- how could more death change anything?" the narrator asks. A mother, who has had two of her kids killed, puts another question to the camera: “Who will return our children to us?"
There is nothing that can really be described as combat in the film. And that too is the experience of war. Simply put, war for most is just the enduring. The suffering. The pointless and inexplicable violence.
And it is against this endless injustice that ‘20 Days in Mariupol’ finds common cause with our project, The Counteroffensive.
We can’t turn away. We can’t close our eyes. We can’t stop telling the personal stories.
To do so would be a betrayal of all those who have poured a little of themselves into our cup.

Hello to readers; Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.
Here’s what we have today: Moscow has suffered a significant drone attack overnight, after Putin talked peace during a Russia-Africa summit.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia is expected to host a Ukrainian-organized peace conference next month to draw the outlines for negotiations.
Let’s start in the Russian capital: Moscow was struck by a Ukrainian drone attack early Sunday morning. Russian authorities have reported that they electronically jammed two of the drones, causing them to fall in the Moscow City business district. Footage of the attack shows a large explosion erupting between tall buildings.

On Saturday, Putin spoke at the Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg with representatives of 49 other countries in attendance. The summit came on the heels of Russia's withdrawal from a grain agreement that has now endangered parts of the world's food supply, with many African leaders unhappy about the risks to their citizens. They left the summit with no new deal in place.

Putin said during the summit that he does not reject the idea of peace talks, but blamed the Ukrainians who are engaged in a counteroffensive. For what appears to be the first time, he said that negotiations could not take place while the Ukrainians were fighting. Ukraine has said one of their conditions for peace would be for Russian troops to leave occupied Ukrainian territories.
In a sign of just how much of a pariah he has become, Putin will not be attending an August conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, due to an International Criminal Court warrant for his arrest. Attending that event will be left to his foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov.
Separately, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine are planning a peace summit next month with the help of approximately 30 other Western countries.
Saudi Arabia is set to host the Ukraine-planned discussions, after previously being accused of profiteering off of high oil prices at the outset of the Russian invasion last year. While Ukraine, Brazi, India, South Africa and the United States are expected to attend, Russia is not invited.
Finally, in an announcement timed to mark the anniversary of the Olenivka Prison Massacre one year ago Saturday, the Security Service of Ukraine concluded that a thermobaric weapon was used to kill over 50 Ukrainian POWs in the attack. The UN earlier in the week had dismissed Russia's claims that the Ukrainian servicemen were killed by Ukrainian HIMARs.

Tim here: I toured Poland last month with members of the Kaplan Public Service Foundation, an organization dedicated to bridging the military-civilian divide.
Together, we visited a refugee center near Warsaw, where those displaced from the war in Ukraine were still living.
The conditions were spartan but clean. In a giant room that would have once been a warehouse, hundreds lived in an open space with plywood for walls and blankets for doors.
The goal is to educate the children there, but the center is viewed as a transitional space, one in which students could continue to learn, with the hope that they would eventually be placed in local Polish schools.
Tumblr media
Children fleeing war still remain children, and the artwork they produced at the refugee center reflects that. Many of the children report that their paintings are based on dreams they’ve had.
Ivanka, 13 years old, from Volyn Oblast, writes that she drew a hamster named Vasylka -- she painted him because "when I look at him, I feel happy."

This painting, drawn by Maja Tkachova, depicts a frog holding a bible, standing on a cloud in one of her dreams.

An artist known only as Dylan had a much simpler message: Мир, or Mir – Ukrainian for ‘Peace.’

And here, another child called Sprophie drew a piece based on a "mysterious dream" she had –-- a family of colored mushrooms that "enjoy life without worrying about anything."

Happy mushrooms.
A letter from Saskia, a fifth-grader at Keys Middle School in Palo Alto, Calif. hangs on the wall here, sending her best wishes to the displaced children of Ukraine. Obviously, it was much appreciated, and much-loved, and is now on permanent display.
I wonder, do our readers know anyone who knows Saskia to pass on the gratitude from the folks here?
Tumblr media
Saskia’s treasured letter.
Adults paint at the refugee center too. I’ll leave this here without comment.
Tumblr media
Art of the more grown-up variety.
Finally, today’s Cat o’ Conflict was drawn by a fourteen year old at the refugee center near Warsaw. She said she drew two cats flying to another planet –-- two because it showed that when you're not alone, and when you have support – you can overcome any difficulties, "even in space."
Tumblr media
Stay safe out there.
Best, Tim

The Doctrine of the Scriptures
We believe in the complete inspiration of the accepted canon of Scripture as originally given. We believe that the Bible not only contains the Word of God, but is the Word of God to man. The Scriptures of the Old Testament and the New Testament were given by inspiration (God-breathed) of the Holy Spirit, using the faculties of the various writers but overruling their imperfections, thus giving to us the only inspired, infallible and authoritative revelation – The Word of the living God. The Scriptures therefore are the final authority for all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 138:2; 1 Chronicles 28:11,19)
The Doctrine of God
We believe in the Eternal Godhead, Trinity in Unity (Tri-une) who has revealed Himself as one God existing in three Persons, even the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit: distinguishable but indivisible; co-eternal, co-equal and co-existent in attributes, nature, power and glory. This Self-revelation of God in His tri-unity is revealed in the Scriptures alone. The one true Self-existent God is Eternal, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient and Immutable (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 2 Corinthians 3:14; 1 John 5:7-8; Ephesians 2:18; Isaiah 48:16; John 14:16-17; Genesis 1:1; Romans 1:20; Hebrews 11:6).
The Doctrine of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God, who pre-existed with the Father, and by His incarnation and virgin birth He took on Himself the form of man and was revealed as the God-man. We believe that in Him the Divine and Human natures are so united that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man, thus constituting Him as the only mediator between God and Man, and the Saviour of all men (John 1:1-3, 14-18; Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:30-33). This is to say that we believe in His Pre-existence, His Divinity, His Virgin Birth, and His Sinless Humanity. Upon these facts stand His Substitutionary Death, Burial, Resurrection, Ascension and Exaltation and Glorification to the throne of God, from whence He will come again “in like manner” the second time without sin unto salvation (Acts 2:34-37; Psalms 110; Micah 5:2; John 17:5; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Philippians 2:5-11; Acts 1:10-11).
The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit in the third Person in the eternal Godhead, is Deity, and co-equal in nature, power, attributes and glory with the Father and the Son, proceeding from the Father through the Son. The Holy Spirit is not merely an influence, but the very Personality of the Godhead and executor of the will and plan of God (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16-17; 15:26).
The Doctrine of the Covenants
We believe that the God of the Bible is a Covenant-making, Covenant-keeping and Covenant-revealing God; that man can either accept or reject the Covenants but cannot change them. Man does not originate the Covenants but is simply the recipient of such. The great Covenants of the Bible are the Edenic, Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Palestinian, Davidic and New Covenants. The major dealings of God with man are summed up in the Old Covenant of LAW and the New Covenant of GRACE. All Covenants are founded on and are the expression of the Everlasting Covenant made in the counsels of the Eternal Godhead before sin, and cover God’s purpose for man in Creation and Redemption (Genesis chapters 1; 3; 8; 12; 15: Exodus 19-24; Deuteronomy 29-32; 2 Samuel 7; Matthew 26:26-28; Hebrews 8; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 13:20).
The Doctrine of Creation
We believe that God is the Creator, preserver and Sustainer of Heaven and Earth and everything therein, and that all creation and creatures were created by Him and for His pleasure and all are dependent upon the Creator for their existence. None are independent but all are beneficiaries of Divine providence and care (Genesis 1:1; 2:1-4; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16-17; Revelation 4:11; Acts 17:23-31).
The Doctrine of Angels
We believe that God created angelic beings, spirit beings, who are ministering spirits doing the will of God, and are servants to the heirs of salvation. Their chief delight is to worship God, not be worshipped, and to do His good and perfect will (Hebrews 1:7; 14: Psalm 91:11; Matthew 25:22,41; 1Timothy 5:21; Hebrews 12:22-24; Psalm 104:4; Revelation 4-5).
The Doctrine of Satan and Demons
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and fallen angels. The Bible shows that there were fallen angels who sinned along with their leader, Satan. Also that there are angels who did not rebel and these are spoken of as Elect Angels. Satan and his fallen angels, and demonic spirits, are reserved unto judgment of the great day, and will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, which was prepared for them (Matthew 25; 14; 2 Peter 2:4: Jude 6; 1 Timothy 5:21; Revelation 2:7-9; 20:11-15; 14:9- 11).
The Doctrine of Man
We believe that man is the highest creation of God, made in the image and likeness of God: that man was created in a state of innocence and dependency upon God: that man is a triune being, consisting of spirit, soul and body: that God created man for God, to be filled with God. We also believe that man was created with a free will and is therefore a moral, responsible and accountable creature (Genesis 1:26-29; 2:7; 16-17: 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Psalm 8:5-8; Deuteronomy 30:15-19; Ecclesiastes 7:29; Romans 14:12).
The Doctrine of Marriage and Family
We believe that marriage was established by God and confirmed by Jesus Christ as a life- long relationship between one man and one woman. We believe that a Christian should marry within the community of faith. Christian marriage is a reflection of the love, purity and permanence between Christ and the Church. We therefore discourage divorce as a solution to marital difficulties and encourage husband and wife to devote themselves to God and find nurture in the instruction of the body of Christ. Children are regarded as “a heritage of the Lord”. Raising them is therefore considered as a sacred trust. (Eph 5.25-6.4)
The Doctrine of Sin
We believe that sin and “the mystery of iniquity” began in Lucifer, the Archangel and anointed Cherub covering the throne of God, and that sin entered the human race by this fallen angel, who became known as the devil or Satan (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezek. 28; John 8:44; 1 John 3:8). The devil brought about the Fall of Man under probation, and thus man fell from his state of innocence and “in Adam” all men became sinners, totally depraved in spirit, soul and body, unable to attain Divine righteousness and hence all are under the death penalty which is the “wages of sin” (Genesis 2:16-17; Romans 6:23).
In this fallen state, man is totally incapable of recovering himself or of redeeming himself from sin and death or out of the kingdom of darkness into which all of Adam’s unborn race had been sold. Sin is missing the mark: sin is transgression: sin is rebellion and lawlessness (1 John 3:4). Man by nature is a rebel, lawless, self-willed and seeks to be independent of God (Romans 5:12-21; 3: 9-23).
The Doctrine of Grace
We believe in the grace of God which is manifested towards sinful men. Grace is defined as the undeserved, and unearned favour of God bestowed upon sinful men. Man does not deserve it; he cannot earn it; there is nothing in him that merits it. The grace of God includes His love, kindness, goodness and mercy and power by which he builds His church, which comes to men and is through Christ (John 1:14-18; Ephesians 2:7-9; Titus 3:4-7).
The Doctrine of the Atonement
We believe that the Atonement is the all-comprehensive plan of God in and for the redemption of fallen man. The old English word “atone” means “to cover, to pardon, to appease, to reconcile” and it is a most comprehensive word in its full ramifications. It was foreshadowed in the Old Testament by the sacrifice of animals, whose blood temporarily “covered” sin. It is fulfilled in the New Testament by Christ’s perfect, sinless, human and once-for-all sacrifice, His sinless, incorruptible blood not only “covered” sin. It is fulfilled in the New Testament by Christ’s perfect, sinless, human and once-for-all sacrifice, His sinless, incorruptible blood not only “covers” but fully “cleanses” sin (1 John 1:5-7; John 3:16-17; 1:29, 36; Hebrews 9:1-24).
A. The Atonement was made necessary by God’s holiness against man’s sinfulness which produces wrath, and wrath can only be averted by atonement, the appeasement, the sacrifice upon which judgment is placed (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 1:18; 4:15; Isaiah 53:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 3:25).
B. The Nature of the Atonement was:
1.    An Atonement, Appeasement. A sin offering (John 1:29, 36).
2.    A Propitiation (Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:2; 4:10).
3.    A Substitution (1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:8). Christ died in our stead.
4.    A Redemption (Colossians 1:14). Christ bought us from sin’s slavery.
5.    A Ransom (Mark 10: 45; 1 Timothy 2:5-6). Christ paid the price.
6.    A Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Hebrews 2:17).
None of these words on its own, but all of them together, constitute the full truth of the Atonement. In the Atonement, the Lord Jesus Christ, who was sinless, took our sins and iniquities, and suffered the righteous wrath of a holy God, receiving the penalty of sin which was death. His death was not an accident but an accomplishment, making salvation available for all mankind, to “whosoever will” (John 3:16).
We believe therefore, that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples showing Himself alive by many infallible proofs (Acts 1:3; Romans 4:25; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). We believe that He ascended bodily to Heaven, and that He will return the second time, actually, personally, bodily and gloriously “in the like manner” as He went into Heaven (Acts 1:9-10; John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
C. The Benefits of the Atonement are:
1.    Pardon – the forgiveness and remission of sin’s penalty (Acts 10:43; 13:38-39).
2.    Justification – the pronouncing just, a declaration of righteousness and right
standing before God through Christ (Romans 5:1; 3:24-26).
3.    Regeneration – by which one is born again into the family of God and can call
God “Our Father”. (John 3:1-5; Matthew 6:9; 1 Peter 1:23).
4.    Adoption – whereby one is placed as a son in the family of God (Romans 8:15,
23; Galatians 4:5; Ephesians 1:4-13).
5.    Assurance – whereby one has the witness of the Spirit that he is secure in obedience to the Word of God (Hebrews 5:8-9; 6:10-12; 10:38-39).
6.    Sanctification – whereby one is set apart unto the Lord and His holy service and use (John 17:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; Ephesians 5:26-27).
The Doctrine of Predestination
We believe that predestination and election are based upon God’s foreknowledge. God has not predestined some men to salvation and others to damnation against the free will He gave them. Prophecy concerning persons (such as Judas) was not predestination but foreknowledge. Because God foreknew and foresaw, He (through the prophets) foretold. Prophecy is not predestination but foreknowledge. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). There is a difference between Provision and Application. Provision for Salvation has been made available for all mankind (John 3:16); but Application of salvation is upon God’s terms. God foreknows who will and who will not respond to the conviction and converting power of the Holy Spirit and on that basis He has fixed the destiny of all men, which is either Heaven or Hell. God will never do with His creatures that which is inconsistent with His holy, righteous, and loving character or moral attributes (1 Peter 1:2; Romans 9:11; Ephesians 1:5, 11; Romans 8:28-29).
The Doctrine of Salvation
We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of Christ on Calvary by which remission of sins is obtained. The word “salvation” includes the meaning of “safety, security, deliverance, and preservation,” and “health, wholesome, soundness.” It is a comprehensive word and includes in itself God’s complete work in the redeemed sinner, reaching in its entirety from regeneration to perfection and glorification.
The Doctrine of Sanctification
We believe that the redeemed should be wholly sanctified in spirit, soul and body; that they should live a life that is Spirit-filled, a life of separation from sins of the world, the flesh, and the devil. We believe that the work of sanctification in the life of a believer results in a life characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. This kind of life rejects pride and rebellion and all behaviour stemming from this, such as homosexuality, sexual immorality, and sexual perversion, lust, incest, idolatry, envy, murder, strife, drunkenness, deceit, malice, gossip, slander, insolence, arrogance, boasting, promoting evil deeds, disobedience, greed, covetousness and all forms of moral depravity. Because God is holy he can demand no less from His creatures and all who desire to live with Him in His holy heaven throughout eternity (1 Peter 1:16-18; Ephesians 5:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Hebrews 12:14; Ephesians 5:23-27; Leviticus 11:44).
Necessary steps in going on to maturity (Heb 2:3; 6:1-2) and perfection are:
A. Repentance from Dead Works (Matthew3:2:4:17;Acts30:20-21;2:37-39).
B. Faith towards God (Hebrews 11:6; Romans 10:17; Hebrew 12:2; Romans 1:16-17).
C. Water Baptism (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:36-38; 8:12-16; 19:1-7; Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:11-12; Galatians 3:27). This is by immersion into the Triune God, as in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is the Name of the eternal Godhead.
D. HolySpiritBaptism(Acts2:1-4;1:5-8;8:14-17;10:44-46;19:1-7;Galatians3:14-15). We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience at or subsequent to salvation, with the Scriptural evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
E. Laying on of Hands (Leviticus 4:15, 23-33; Mark 16:18; Numbers 27:18-23; 2 Timothy 1:6; 1 Timothy 1:14-16; Acts 9:17). This ordinance is found in both Old and New Testaments and includes in itself impartation, identification, substitution and imputation, and is used for blessing, healing and ordination.
F. Resurrection from the Dead (1 Corinthians 15; John 5; Revelation 20:1-6). This includes the resurrection of all men, either to a resurrection of life or resurrection of damnation.
G. Eternal Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:7; Matthew 11:20-25; Acts 17:30- 31). The purpose of resurrection is that all men might be judged as to their works done in the flesh, whether they be good or bad, and all will be rewarded accordingly by the supreme judge of all mankind (Romans 14:12; 1 Corinthians 3:9-15; Revelation 20:11-15). This settles the eternal destiny of all men. Believers will be judged at the Judgment seat of Christ and rewarded. The unbelievers will be judged at the Great White Throne and rewarded accordingly.
H. Perfection (Psalm 138:8; John 17:23; Ephesians 4:11-16; 5:23-32; Matthew 5:48). The whole purpose of redemption is to bring man back to the perfection from which he fell. The perfection that man will be brought to through the blood of Christ will be a sinless perfection from which it will be impossible to fall. The believer is to go on to perfection (Hebrews 6:1-2).
The Doctrine of Divine Healing
We believe in the healing of the body by Divine power, or Divine healing in its various aspects as practiced in the Early Church. God has ordained various means by which he heals; including the laying on of hands, anointing with oil; the prayer of faith by elders of the Church; the gifts of the Spirit; etc (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14; Mark 16:15-20; 1 Corinthians 12).
The Doctrine of the Kingdom of God
We believe that Christ came to inaugurate the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom is therefore already present but is not yet fully realized. It is seen wherever God’s reign is extended and is a present reality in the hearts and lives of believers. The Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit as the agency by which the Kingdom is extended. The Kingdom will be seen in its fullness when Christ returns at the end of the age.
The Doctrine of the Church
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, and that every genuinely born again believer is called to function as a member in that place set by God in that Body (1 Corinthians 12; 12-31).
A. The Church exists for:
1.    The worship and glorification of God and Christ.
2.    The edification of the saints.
3.    The propagation of the Gospel of the Kingdom and grace of God with signs following.
4.    The subjugation of Satan and his wicked hosts (Matthew 24:14; Mark 16:15-20; 1 Peter 2:24; Revelation 4:10-11; 5:9-10; 1 Corinthians 11-12-13-14; Ephesians 4:1-16).
B. We also believe that:
1.    God has set the five-fold ascension ministry-gifts in the Church, of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher (Ephesians 4:9-16).
2.    God has ordained the Church be governed in His order, having Elders and Deacons (Philippians 1:1; Hebrews 13:7; 17, 24; Acts 14:23; 1 Timothy 3). These must be qualified persons before ordained and appointed to office.
3.    The nine-fold fruit of the Spirit is the evidence of the Divine nature and character, and should be in every believer’s life (Galatians 5:22-23).
4.    The nine gifts are operations of the Spirit and reveal the attributes and power of God in the Church and are given to the members of the Body as He wills, and are still for the Church today (1 Corinthians 12:1-13).
5.    Every believer is a member of the Body of Christ and is called to function and operate in the Body where the Lord has placed them (1 Corinthians 12). Every believer is to find their place in a Local Church.
6.    God has ordained that the Church be supported by the tithes and offerings of its members, which are used in support for the God-ordained ministry and general expenses of the Local and/or Universal Church (Genesis 14:20; Matthew 23:23; Hebrews 7:1-4; Numbers 18).
7.    The Lord’s Table or the Communion is the ordinance in which members discern the Body of Christ, naturally and spiritually. It is the point of unity, not of division. Failure to properly discern brings weakness, sickness and death, while strength, life and health come through proper discerning (1 Corinthians 11:28-32; Matthew 26:26-28). The Lord’s Table is a Covenant Table for the Covenant community.
8.    The Lord’s purpose concerning the Church will be fulfilled and He will present to Himself a glorious Church, a perfect Church without spot, or blemish, or wrinkle, or any such thing. The Church will be a victorious Church and a suitable bride to be married to Christ (Matthew 16:18-19; 2 Corinthians 11:1-3; Ephesians 5:23-32; Revelation 12; Revelation 19:7-9).
9.    All who are added to the Church should continue steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine, in fellowship, in breaking of bread and in prayers (Acts 2:42).
10.  The Church should maintain the Divine standard of Christian life, taking care of the flock of God, by caring, feeding, teaching, preaching, exhorting and disciplining its members (1 Timothy; 2 Timothy; Titus Epistles; Acts 20:20-28).
The Doctrine of Final Things
We believe that the end of the age will close with the literal, actual, visible, bodily and personal second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in like manner as He went (Acts 1:9-11). At this time those who have died believing in Christ will be resurrected. They will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, along with those believers who are alive at the time of His return. This is the hope of all believers in all ages. We believe in the millennial reign of Christ.
Additional to the Statement of Faith is our interpretation of some major Prophetic Scriptures which must find their fulfilment relative to the Second coming of Christ.
1.     THAT there will be a universal outpouring of the Holy Spirit as early and latter rain on all flesh (Joel 2; Hosea 6:1-2; James 5:7).
2.     THAT the Church will experience the fulfilment of the Feast of Tabernacles even as it historically experienced the Feasts of Passover ad Pentecost (Leviticus 23; Leviticus 16; Hebrews 9-10; Revelation 1-2-3; Daniel 8:13-14).
3.     THAT the seven- sealed Book of Revelation will be opened, with its attendant judgments as displayed under the Seven Seals, Seven Trumpets and Seven Vials (Revelation Chapters 4-10; 15-16).
4.     THAT, although there has always been persecution and tribulation through Church history, there will be the greatest period of persecution which is called “the Great Tribulation” at the close of this present age which will be for three and a half years, the fulfilment of the last half-week of Daniel’s Prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27; Matthew 24; Revelation Chapters 11-12-13-14).
5.     THAT there will be a personal Antichrist, as well as many antichrists, and his Kingdom will be a Ten-Kingdom Empire, a One-world Government which will be in existence at the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Daniel 2; Daniel 7; Revelations chapters 13-14; 17-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-1-12).
6.     THAT the Battle of Armageddon takes place at the second coming of Christ and that Antichrist and his armies make war against Christ and His armies but will be overcome by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:11-21).
7.     THAT at the coming of Christ all those outside of Christ are slain by the brightness of His coming, and the living Church is immortalized and translated with the resurrection and immortalization of the dead of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:51-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 12; Revelation 20; 1-4; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12).
8.     THAT there will be a period of 1000 years which is called the Millennial Kingdom. There will be no sin, sickness, disease, death, Satan or demons or sinners, because Satan will be bound in this period. The saints will possess the kingdom (Daniel 2; Daniel 7; Matthew 6:9-10; Revelation 20:1-7). It will be a Christian Millennium.
9.     THAT at the end of the 1000 years, Satan will be loosed out of the bottomless pit, and the second resurrection will take place. The wicked dead, and Satan will attempt a final overthrow of the Camp of God. Fire descends from Heaven. The earth burns. There is the Great White Throne judgment and all whose names are not in the lamb’s Book of Life are cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the final and eternal state of the unredeemed, the eternal hell (Revelation 20:7-15).
10.   THAT there will be a New Heavens and a New Earth wherein dwells righteousness. The New Jerusalem will be the capital City of the universe from whence the redeemed of all ages will go in the worship and service of God and the Lamb. Thus there will be eternal punishment for unbelievers and eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3:16; Mark 9:43-58; Revelation Chapters 21-22).

Did a quick concept sketch of a Clone soldier's plug suit. The design is same for males and females. These suits are designed to plug into power armor exoskeletons or can just have standard armor plates connect to the body. It's completely airtight when worn with a helmet and can be used in extra vehicular activity. In Delta Chronicles the unity of the Clones helped them develope far more advanced technology than the humans during their 500 year space exodus. Its design was inspired by the Haven Trooper of Metal Gear Solid 4. It's design is subject to change as I feel it's too close to the source inspiration.

Old Testament Historical Books part 3
The Books of Samuel Originally but one book, the scroll of Samuel was early divided into two. The Greek translators called these the first and second Books of Kingdoms, a title St. Jerome later modified to "Kings." The Hebrew title, "Samuel" alludes to the leading figure in the first book, who was responsible for the enthronement of David. It is David's history that the second book recounts. This sacred work thus comprises the history of about a century, describing the close of the age of the Judges and the beginnings of monarchy in Israel under Saul and David. It is not a complete and continuous history, nor a systematic account of the period, but rather a series of episodes centered around the persons of Samuel, Saul and David, the principal figures leading up to the establishment of the royal dynasty of David. The final editor is unknown, nor are we certain of the time at which the various strands of the narrative were put together, though one may think of the period, perhaps late in the seventh century B.C., when the other volumes of the "Former Prophets" from Joshua through Kings, were built into a more or less continuous historical corpus. The Samuel-Saul-David narratives clearly depend on several written sources: a Samuel cycle, two sets of stories about Saul and David, and a family history of David. This last (2 Sam 9-20; 1 Kings 1-2), one of the most vivid historical narratives surviving from ancient times, probably originated early in the reign of Solomon. One of the most significant theological contributions of the Old Testament is found in 2 Sam 7 the oracle of Nathan. David is here promised an eternal dynasty, and this becomes the basis for the development of royal messianism throughout the Bible. With this promise to David one should compare 2 Chron 17; Psalm 89:19-37;  132:11-13; Acts 2:30; Hebrews 1:5. The contents of this work may be divided as follows:  I.  History of the Last Judges, Eli and Samuel (1 Sam 1:1 - 1 Sam 7:17)  II .Establishment of the Monarchy in Israel (1 Sam 8:1 -1 Sam 12:25)  III  Saul and David (1 Sam 13:1 - 2 Sam 2:7)  IV. The Reign of David (2 Sam 2:8 - 2 Sam 20:26)  V. Appendixes ( 2 Sam 21:1 -  2 Sam 24:25) Books of the Kings The two Books of Kings were originally, like 1 Sam; 2 Sam - a single historical work. In conjunction with the Books of Samuel, they extend the consecutive history of Israel from the birth of Samuel to the destruction of Jerusalem in 587 B.C. This combined work is designed as a religious history; hence in Kings the temple, which is the chosen site for the worship of Yahweh, occupies the center of attention. The Books of Kings show clearly the theological bent of a Deuteronomic editor. In them, as already in Judges, material from various sources, such as the "book of the acts of Solomon" ( 1 Kings 11:41) and the "book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel" (1 Kings 14:19), is forged into structural unity by an editor whose principal interest is in the fidelity to Yahweh of rulers and people. The reigns of individual kings are adapted to an editorial framework consisting of a presentation and an obituary notice for each, in stereotyped formulas. In between, the achievements of the king are reported-above all, his fidelity or lack of fidelity to Yahweh. The faithful prosper; the unfaithful pay for their defections. Since this is basically a narrative of sin and retribution, it would not be inappropriate to entitle the Books of Kings "The Rise and Fall of the Israelite Monarchy." Without minimizing the complexity of the process by which this material was transmitted for many centuries, one may speak of two editions of the Books: the first at some time between 621 B.C. and 597 B.C., and the second, final edition during the Exile; probably shortly after Jehoiachin was released from his Babylonian prison (561 B.C.). 1 Kings carries the history of Israel from the last days and death of David to the accession in Samaria of Ahaziah, son of Ahab, near the end of the reign of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah. Judgment is passed on Ahaziah's reign but the details are given only later, in 2 Kings. We should note the two large cycles of traditions which grew up around the great prophetic figures of Elijah and Elisha, the former in 1 Kings and the latter chiefly in 2 Kings. These cycles, which interrupt the sequence of regnal chronicles, were very probably preserved and transmitted by the prophetic communities to which there are references in the same traditions. The Elijah cycle is the more important since it dramatically underscores Israel's critical struggle with the religion of Canaan. The principal divisions of the Books of Kings are: I.  The Reign of Solomon ( 1 Kings 1:1-11:43) II.  Judah and Israel to the Time of Ahab ( 1 Kings 12:1-16:34) III. Stories of the Prophets (1 Kings 17:1-22:54) IV.The Kingdoms of Israel and Judah (2 Kings 1:1-17:41) V. The Kingdom of Judah after 721 B.C. ( 2 Kings 18:1-25:30) 1 Chronicles Originally the two books of Chronicles formed, with the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah, a single historical work, uniform in style and basic ideas. The Greek title, paraleipomena, means "things omitted, or passed over (in Samuel and Kings)." The Books of Chronicles, however, are more than a supplement to Samuel and Kings; a comparison of the two histories discloses striking differences in scope and purpose. The Books of Chronicles record in some detail the lengthy span from the reign of Saul to the return from the Exile. Unlike the exact science of history today, wherein factual accuracy and impartiality of judgment are the standards for estimating what is of permanent worth, ancient biblical history, with rare exceptions, was less concerned with reporting in precise detail all the facts of a situation than with explaining the meaning of those facts. Such history was primarily interpretative and, in the Old Testament, its purpose was to disclose the action of the living God in the affairs of men. For this reason we speak of it as "sacred history"; its writer's first concern was to bring out the divine or supernatural dimension in history. This is apparent when we examine the primary objective of the Chronicler in compiling his work. In view of the situation which confronted the Jewish people at this time (the end of the fifth century B.C.), the Chronicler realized that Israel's political greatness was a thing of the past. It would be a people under God, or nothing. Yet Israel's past held the key to her future. The Chronicler proposed to establish and defend the legitimate claims of the Davidic monarchy in Israel's history, and to underscore the place of Jerusalem and its divinely established temple worship as the center of religious life for the Jewish community of his day. If Judaism was to survive and prosper, it would have to heed the lessons of the past and devoutly serve Yahweh in the place where he had chosen to dwell, the temple of Jerusalem. From the Chronicler's point of view, David's reign was the ideal to which all subsequent rule in Judah must aspire. The Chronicler was much more interested in David's religious and cultic influence than in his political power. There is little of royal messianism in his book. He apparently regarded as something of the distant past the prophet Zechariah's abortive attempt to have the Davidic kingdom reestablished in the time of Zerubbabel at the end of the sixth century B.C. ( Zechariah 6:9-15). He saw David's primary importance as deriving from the establishment of Jerusalem and its temple as the center of the true worship of the Lord. Furthermore, he presented David as the one who had authorized the elaborate ritual (which, in point of fact, only gradually evolved in the temple built by Zerubbabel) and who had also appointed Levites to supervise the liturgical services there. There are good reasons for believing that originally the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah formed the last part of a single literary work that began with 1 and 2 Chronicles. Some authors even regard Ezra himself as having been the anonymous Chronicler. In any case, the Chronicler's Hebrew as well as his religious and political outlook points to c. 400 B.C. as the time of composition of this work. The Chronicler used sources in writing his history. Besides the canonical Books of Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Joshua and Ruth, and especially the Books of Samuel and Kings, he cites the titles of many other works no longer extant. "The books of the kings of Israel," or "the books of the kings of Israel and Judah," "the history of Samuel the seer," "the history of Nathan the prophet," "the history of Gad the seer," "the commentary on the Books of Kings," are some of the documents mentioned as historical sources. In addition, the Chronicler's work contains early preexilic material not found in the Books of Kings. At one time scholars discounted the value of this material, but modern research has shown that, even though the Chronicler may have at times treated the material rather freely, he derived it from authentic and reliable sources. The principal divisions of 1 Chronicles are as follows: I.  Genealogical Tables (1 Chron 1:1- 9:34) II.  The History of David ( 1 Chron 9:35-29:30)

#HumWapasAayenge Trends As Kashmiri Pandits Tweet "Pledge To Return Home"
Tumblr media
Kashmiri Pandits tweeted #HumWapas Aayenge on Twitter.New Delhi: To mark the 30th anniversary of the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, members of the community took to social media to post videos of themselves by narrating the "Hum Aayenge Apne Watan" dialogue from an upcoming movie, ''Shikara'', with the hope that they would return to their homeland one day.On January 19, 1990, lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homes in the Valley following a genocidal campaign launched by the terrorists.Theatre actor Chandan Sadhu participated in the campaign and said that Kashmiri Pandits have shown "unimaginable resilience" and hope to return to the Valley soon."As Kashmiri Pandits complete 30 years in exile this weekend, let our cry for justice be finally noticed. We have shown unimaginable resilience, and today we resolve to return home. Kashmiri Pandit friends: please record this video statement and put it up with #HumWapasAayenge," Mr Sadhu tweeted. As Kashmiri Pandits complete 30 years in exile this weekend, let our cry for justice be finally noticed. We have shown unimaginable resilience, and today we resolve to return home. pic.twitter.com/d0PBXx7QRU— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) January 17, 2020The movie "Shikara" chronicles the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley on the night of January 19, 1990. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie will release on February 7.Many have supported the initiative and have expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri Pandits. In July last year, Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Rajya Sabha that the central government is committed to bringing Kashmiri Pandits and Sufis back to the Valley saying a time will come when they will offer prayers at the famous Kheer Bhawani temple."Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave Kashmir. Many of their shrines were demolished. Sufism was targeted in Jammu and Kashmir. Sufism used to talk about unity and harmony but they were attacked. No voice was raised in favour of Kashmiri Pandits and Sufis when they were brutally attacked. Sufis used to talk about the unity among Hindus and Muslims but they were forced to leave the Valley. Narendra Modi-led government is committed to bringing back Kashmiri Pandits," he had said. The Mata Kheer Bhawani temple is one of the holiest shrines of Kashmiri Pandits, located about 14 kilometres east of Srinagar.Last September, a delegation of the Kashmiri Pandit community met the Prime Minister in Houston and thanked him for the historic decision to scrap Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.PM Modi acknowledged the hardships endured by the community following their exodus from their ancestral homeland back in 1989-1990 due to militancy."You have suffered a lot, but the world is changing. We have to move ahead together and build a new Kashmir," the Prime Minister had told the delegation."I had a special interaction with Kashmiri Pandits in Houston," PM Modi had tweeted following the interaction. In October, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar announced that the Centre has decided to provide compensation of Rs 5.5 lakh each to 5,300 displaced families from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), who initially opted to move outside Jammu and Kashmir but later on returned. These families were earlier left out in the rehabilitation package that was approved by the Cabinet on November 30, 2016.The Prime Minister had announced a reconstruction plan for Jammu and Kashmir in November 2016. His plan included a rehabilitation package for a one-time settlement of 36,384 displaced persons' families of PoK-1947 and Chhamb. Read the full article

New Assassins Creed “leaked” info:
The leaks aren't "accidents". Controlled. Both pictures are real. The first one (where the MC stood in front of something) is very old. The second one is a picture from the Demo we'll see at E3.
New scouting mechanic, the eagle. The eagle's placeholder name for now is "Akhom".
There are NO towers in the game. You will be using your eagle for side-activities and points of interest. There's a limit to how far you can go away from the protagonist.
The characters all speak English like in Unity. That is because of the Animus 5.0, which has perfected any translation issues of the older versions. You will be sitting in it, not moving around like in the movie.
We have a new Modern Day protagonist, he's male and mixed race. Already a trained Assassin and has a new team that helps him achieve his task, given by William himself. William, Rebecca, Shaun all make appearances.
MD is more like AC3's MD with bigger areas and more character interaction. The MD does more to highlight the fact that Assassins and Templars still exist and are having a big impact on the world.
"Without giving too much away, a piece of Eden is used during the Exodus and the crossing of the Red Sea, playing into the whole overarching mission of the modern-day protagonist." Not main focus of the story though.
He doesn't exactly know when it's set, but last he heard it was set between 1400 and 1200 BCE. It's set during the Dynasties.
NO naval combat. It really is only just a sailing boat used for travel purposes. It's like in The Witcher 3, just a tad more customizable. That's it.
He states numerous times that the world is breathtakingly beautiful and that there is ambient stuff going on in the open seas. Better to sail than miss this stuff by fast-travelling.
You will be travelling the Eastern Mediterranean with your boat.
Ambient music is in the game. Hooray!
Devs have focused on story 100%. There is no multiplayer whatsoever, however, there are micro-transactions like in BF and Rogue. Multiplayer is still on the cards, might return at some point to the franchise.
A lot of work went into the immersion aspect.
Plenty of tropical areas. Mirages, oasis areas and various islands dotted around the sea are beautiful.
The main protag (in the past) is a quieter version of Altair, basically. Looks like him, slightly darker. Not black like Adé. Trilogy with him planned. Greece comes next and he's in there. No idea about the third entry at all.
Main protag (past) is apparently Israelite.
Combat has been reworked. Enemies have different attack patterns and will actively try to flank you. Kinda like Witcher 3, but easier to get into.
Stealth is much more integrated into the world. You can hide on corners, in crowds, in buildings and in bushes/haystacks. Imagine Syndicate and Unity's stealth, but much more well thought out and implemented. Social stealth is emphasized a lot in the game. You'll be blending into crowds and with groups of slaves an awful lot.
Free running is the same as Syndicate/Unity, though it adds in some of the flair from Watch Dogs 2. It's a lot smoother and more fluid.
Reason why AC doesn't make its way to Japan is because the higher ups don't see it being successful. They made China for Chronicles to "please the fans". Whoop-de-doo.
Same thing for WW1 and WW2.
Engine is a reworked version of Syndicate's. But looks drastically different to Syndicate/Unity.
They took Unity's backlash very, very badly. They've been working on Origins so much to avoid another buggy situation. "Syndicate was about 60% complete when the backlash came to light, so Ubi shoved that one out of the door before we had the break."
No Switch version, releases on PS4, Xbawks One and PC.
Coming out later this year.
Hidden Blade used in the game is a very early version. Requires losing a finger. There's also a bow, a shield, various swords, spears and throwing knives.
Our protagonist (paaast) doesn't have a name at the beginning. Later, other characters start calling him "Shed", after the deity that represents salvation. A big part of the story revolves around saving your people from slavery.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shed_(deity)
The idea of an Ancient Rome game was floating around the office. Ceasar wasn't a Templar, but shared a lot of their ideologies. Senators that killed him were part of the Brotherhood. Status of this idea is unknown.
Skills are done in a talent tree. However, the differences between the skill trees are drastically different and you can only ever have a certain amount of skills active at one point. One tree is Combat, another Stealth and the final one is Movement.
Outfit-wise, there's a few pre-determined outfits (as there has been in every AC game). However, there are different piece of equipment that you can buy that will go over the top of your 'base' appearance. Imagine Unity's equipment variation/customization, but with less pointless fluff.
Character customization is more like Unity than Syndicate.
I forgot to add this, sorry people: You can put your hood on and off whenever you want!   I don’t want the character to be quite...I love it when characters talk while your walking and doing stuff. Just like in Uncharted games... What do you guys think?

COVID-19 Seems To Prove Cessationism
Cessationsim is the idea that more tangible, visible, gifts of The Holy Spirit are no longer given to believers.  That, after the completion of scripture, they are only reserved, by God, as He sees fit to use.  The outbreak of COVID-19 seems to discredit just about all those who claim to have these such gifts.  We will look at two predominate gifts, The Gift of Prophesy and the Gift of Healing, in the season of COVID-19.
The Gift of Prophesy
The Greek word translated “prophesying” or “prophecy” in both passages properly means:  to “speak forth” or declare the divine will, to interpret the purposes of God, or to make known in any way the truth of God.  Predictive prophesy has been used in scripture on several occasions, most notably, all the prophecies about the coming messiah. But false prophesying and false prophets exist too.  Ezekiel 13:1-7 tells us they "prophesy out of their own imagination" and "who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!.. Even though the Lord has not sentp them, they say, “The Lord declares,” and expect him to fulfill their words."  Brutal.
So, how can we know if someone is a true prophet of God or has the gift of prophesy?
Numbers 12:6 makes it clear that God will prove him true and anything the prophet claims will be in perfect alignment with the nature and character of God and His will.  A true prophet does not validate himself, but will be validated by God.  If a prophet claims that they "decided" to become one, or was "appointed by man" to be one, they are false (1 Corinthians 12:11; John 5:31-33).  God alone decides who will speak for him and how (1 Samuel 19).  To validate them and their message, God empowered them to do miracles (Acts 14:3), BUT the miracles are not to be solely relied on but the consistency and unity of the message with God's nature, character, and will.  A false prophet will be known by their contradictions to Holy Scripture (Revelation 2:20-21).  Which is why they HATE being questioned or tested.  But, this also reveals them as false too because we are commanded, by God, to "test everything, hold on to the good.  Avoid every kind of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22) and "do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1).  They WILL produce spiritual fruit, good or bad.  THEY will produce a fruit that is rotten and stinks of hypocrisy and contradictions.  A fruit of disunity with God's Word and will.  And we CAN see it if we look (Matthew 7:19-20). Thirdly, if the "prophesy" fails, the prophet is false.  That means if the claim falls short in ANY WAY, its a lie, and the person is a liar (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).  Signs and Wonders do NOT prove a prophet to be of God, even false prophets will be able to do them (Revelation 13:13-14; Matthew 7:22-23).  We also look at the examples in scripture.  They are specific.  Very specific locations, persons, events, in such detail, they are undeniably true.  Like, the birth place of the messiah, Micah 5:2.  The virgin birth, Isaiah 7:14.  Jesus' return from Egypt to Nazareth as a child, Hosea 11:1.  He will be betrayed by a friend for 30 pieces of silver! (Psalm 41:9; Zechariah 11:12). A prophesy will cut so deep that it will effect the spirit of the hearers.  We see all through scripture that true prophets were murdered because of the spiritual power of their words, from God.  Jesus even points this out in Matthew 23:37.  Jesus, himself, was murdered because his words are like a sword; and are divisive and offensive (Matthew 10:34-37).  And we can go on and on about the amazing details of these prophesies, HUNDREDS of years before the events. So, in keeping these four simple, biblical truths of discernment in mind, let's look at validated true prophets.
True Prophets and prophesies.
Moses spoke forth God's warnings about plagues (Exodus 9:14; 11:1; Leviticus 26:25).  Deuteronomy 28:59 is brutal: "Then the Lord will bring on you and your offspring extraordinary afflictions, afflictions severe and lasting, and sicknesses grievous and lasting."  Another predictive prophesy from Moses.  Ezekiel 14:21, Jeremiah 14:12, 19:8, 24:10, 49:17; 2 Chronicles 7:13, all predictive prophesy about plagues.  And there's more. All the prophesies about Jesus, fulfilled (see cited verses above). Isaiah prophesied in 700 BC that the Kingdom of Babylon will be overthrown and never recover (Isaiah 13:19).  This happened in 539 BC, and Babylon never recovered.  But, he didn't stop there.  He also revealed it would be reduced not nothing more than a swampland (Isaiah 14:23).  When archaeologists excavated Babylon during the 1800s, they discovered that some parts of the city could not be dug up because they were under a water table that had risen over the years. Ezekiel prophesied in 587 BC that the city of Tyre will be sacked AND that it will be completely destroyed, dissembled, and thrown into the sea (Ezekiel 26:12).  Alexander The Great, did exactly that.  He took the rubble from Tyre's mainland ruins and tossed it - stones, timber and soil - into the sea, to build the land bridge so he could attacked in 333-332 BC. By far, one of the greatest prophesies of all time; Daniel 9:25.  This gives the literal time frame from a certain point all the way to the appearance of The Messiah.  Beginning year of the prophesy is 444 BC.  Now, we must keep in mind that the Jewish prophetic year was composed of twelve 30 day months; that means the Jewish prophetic year had 360 days, not 365 days.  Daniel states 69 weeks of seven years each, and each year has 360 days, the equation is as follows: 69 x 7 x 360 = 173,880 days.  So, 173,880 days, or 476 years, from 444 BC brings us to... 33 AD... when Jesus publicly begins his ministry... Now THAT is a divine validation! So, there lies the issue.  IF the gift of prophesy is fully functional, the same way it was in the biblical era:
Did anyone prophesy the coming COVID-19 pandemic?
Here we have a Pastor, Marlon Bolton, of Praise Experience Church of North Lauderdale in Florida, claiming to have prophesied it "weeks before Chinese authorities even identified the novel coronavirus strain." then stated, "We prophesied about the stock market crashing. We even prophesied about the shortage of food in this season. Very accurate."  BUT, his "prophesy" accompanied a call for donations and the heretical "Seed donations" idea.  He then said God showed him that seven plagues are "destined for our land.  If you give seed offerings, I believe you'll be covered for these plagues," There are other really wild heretical things he does too [1, 2]. So, how do we know this guy is a false prophet?  He's greedy (2 Corinthians 2:17, Titus 1:7, 1 Timothy 3:3) and demands money in exchange for "spiritual blessings" (1 Corinthians 3:5-7, 1 Corinthians 4:6-7, Acts 8:18-23).  And, his nonspecific simple "claim" has been exposed as false.  The stock market didn't crash, in fact, it is still higher than it was 5 years ago.  There isn't a shortage of food really, I can go into Walmart, today, right now, and buy food.  I may be limited to how much I can purchase at one time, but food is there for me to buy.  Then comes the "seven plagues that are destined for our land."  Time will tell how true this is but given all the evidence, his disunity with God's nature and character and poor accuracy reveals he is false when tested. Then, you have the biggest heretic and fraud of our time, Kenneth Copeland.  Prophesying that the end of COVID-19 was a last week.  On April 2nd he stated: "It is finished. It is over. And the United States of America is healed and well again." [3]. Welp, that failed.  It is still spreading and people are still dying and today is April 11th.  But, he even gets more blasphemous.  He states: "In the name of Jesus, standing in the office of the prophet of God, I execute judgment on you COVID-19. I execute judgment on you, satan, you destroyer, you killer. You get out. I break your power. You get off this nation. I demand judgment on you. I demand. I demand."  That's a bold statement.  Let's test that against scripture.  "Yet Michael the archangel, when he was disputing with the Devil in a debate about Moses' body, did not dare bring an abusive condemnation against him but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Jude 1:9.  Hu, so this authority is reserved for The Lord.  James 4:12 says "There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy." and Psalm 50:6 "The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge! Selah"  And I'm guessing that ONE judge, isn't Kenneth.  He has ZERO authority to "execute judgment" on anything.  This narcissistic, self-idolatry, God's Word contradictions are the fruit of a false prophet.  Also, notice, he hates God's will and God's just judgements on the world through his creation, such as COVID-19.  So, he's a false prophet and heretic. Here's the deal, Time Magazine [5] and some psychic named Sylvia Browne [4] seemed to have just as effectively predicted COVID-19 as all those who claim to be receiving prophesies from God.  That brings shame on the name of the Lord.  That belittles the majesty of our Holy God.  Why are there no truly deep and detailed prophecies like the ones in the Bible, about COVID-19?  Simple answer:
The Gift of Prophesy and Office of Prophet are NOT functioning.
Because if they were, they failed miserably, invalidating themselves anyway.  When you test these prophesies and the prophets against God's Word, they fail.  There is a reason why their prophesies can not rise above the level of a atheist psychic... Okay, so the Gift of Prophesy and Office of Prophet are not functioning, as revealed by God's ordained will through COVID-19.  What about the Gift of Healing?  Why not just heal everyone sick?
The Gift of Healing
The spiritual gift of healing is the supernatural manifestation of the Spirit of God that miraculously brings healing and deliverance from disease and/or infirmity (Matthew 4:24; 15:30; Acts 5:15-16; 28:8-9).  So what did true divine healing look like in the Bible? Jesus heals Peter's mother-in-law sick with a serious high fever (Luke 38:39).  Jesus heals Leprosy (Luke 5:12-14, 17:11-19).  Jesus heals people who are paralyzed (Luke 5:17-26, 7:1-10).  Jesus heals the blind (Matthew 9:27-31; Mark 8:22-26; John 9:1-12; Luke 11:14-23, 18:35-43).  Jesus instantly transforms physical deformities (Luke 6:6-11, 13:10-17, 22:50-51; John 5:1-15).  Jesus literally raised people from the dead (Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-42, 49-56; John 11:1-45). Now all that was done by Jesus.  But what did the Apostles, or those with the gift of healing do?    1 Corinthians 12:28 gives a progression of church maturity.  First, of course, the apostles, then prophets that speak fourth God's word because The Bible wasn't completed yet.  Then, the disciples of the Apostles, the teachers.  Miracles to validate the Apostles and prophets before the completion of scripture. Then, the gifts of healing, helping, church organizing and leading in all sorts or languages and cultures.  And then what?  That's it.  Everything is all set up, the church is made, Apostles are validated by God, and Holy Scripture written and complete. So, the Apostles, the selected few, went around and healed the sick (Luke 9:2-6; Mark 6:13; Acts 4:30, 5:16, 19:11-12, 28:7-9) But not just the "sick," these dudes were raising the DEAD and instantly curing obvious physical deformities and undeniable physical conditions! (Matthew 10:8; Acts 3:1-10, 8:7, 9:36-41, 14:8-10, 20:9-12).  It is important to first note that Matthew 10:1, Jesus only gives this "authority" to heal, to only his closest disciples.  1 Corinthians 12:9,30 also shows that gifts of healing were not given to everyone.  But do you notice something:  only the Apostles are described as doing all these healings, even stated in Acts 5:12: "by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders..."  And again, in Acts 8:18: "saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given."  Then, in the writings of the Disciples of the Apostles, such as Clement of Rome, Papias, and the authentic writings of Ignatius; they are not performing miraculous healings.  So, we can, in fact, conclude that the gift of healing was given only to a select few.  And after they passed away, we stop seeing people being raised from the dead and instant physical deformities and conditions being instantly healed. With the spread of COVID-19, Where did all the charismatic pastors with the gift of healing go? Why would they need to quarantine themselves?  The Apostles didn't.  They went TO the sick, not concerned about themselves becoming sick.  Why don't they, the modern healers, GO TO those who are sick with COVID-19 and heal them?  A prominent Northern California mega-church, Bethel Church, whose members believe their prayers heal the sick and raise the dead is advising the faithful to wash their hands, urging those who feel sick to stay home, canceling missionary trips and advising its faith healers to stay away from local hospitals [7].  And this quote from the church says it all: “Though we believe in a God who actively heals today, students are not being encouraged to visit healthcare settings at this time, and moreover, are taught that even under normal circumstances, they must receive permission from both the facility and the individual before engaging in prayer,”  Why are they not being encouraged to heal those in need?  The Apostles WENT TO WHERE the sick were if the sick weren't brought to them.  And WHY would they need "permission" to engage in prayer?  Who is their master, Bethel Church, or God? Even Bill Johnson has subtle contradictions in his own statement: “Many visit Redding weekly, hoping that God will touch them. I am happy to report that many leave well and whole,” Johnson wrote. “But many others leave in the same condition in which they came. I refuse to blame God for this, as though He has a purpose in their disease. While Jesus did not heal everyone alive in His time, He did heal everyone who came to Him. His is the only standard worth following.”  But, these people come to Jesus, through Bill Johnson, in faith, to be healed!  He flat out admits that his gift of healing, fails.  Is The Holy Spirit a failure?  No!  Therefore, their "gift" is not of the Holy Spirit, if it can fail.  Then, he says this: “Healing happens, but it’s foolish to take unnecessary risks with your health and the health of others,"  Hu, I guess the Apostles were foolish... Considering the predominate church that claims to have the gift of healing, Bethel Church in Redding California; you would think they would be healing their community.  Interestingly, As of April 9, 2020, there are a total of 19,472 positive cases and 541 deaths in California [9].  So... why aren't these 19,472 infected being healed and why aren't the 541 dead being raised back to life?   In their very own county, there are 24 confirmed cases [10].  18 people in isolation and 47 in quarantine, in their own region.  Can they not send just one of their elders with the gift of healing to go heal those people?  Apparently not. Either their [Bethel Church] Holy Spirit is weaker than in the times of the Apostles, or it's not the same thing.  God' doesn't change, Holy Scripture is our guide and test; therefore, it's not The Holy Spirit they claim to be "gifted" by.  In fact, their own gifts seem to be powerless against a REAL TRUE health issue such as COVID-19. Then we hear the excuse, "Well, there were things even the Apostles couldn't do" referring to Matthew 17:16.  But, Jesus didn't say they couldn't.  Jesus first rebuked them for the lack of faith, and then flat out tells the Apostles it was due to their lack of faith (Matthew 17:17, 20).  This sort of admission to justify why their gifts of healing fail is admitting they, themselves, don't have enough faith in their own gifts; laughable. The amazing amount of disunity and contradiction to God's Word; and it become more clear the more you compare their actions and claims to Holy Scripture.  God's use of COVID-19 is a clear judgement on all these prophets and healers and their devoted followers.  This seemingly "bad" virus is actually exposing the false prophets and false teachers.  God is using it to shine light and expose evil deeds.  And for those who continue in their faith in the false teachings and teachers, this is a judgment on them (Romans 1).
