I’m excited to announce my new daily blog series:

Each day of the week I will focus on one of my seven favorite classic New Thought spiritual teachers:

• Norman Vincent Peale [Power of Positive Thinking]

Along with my favorite quotes, I will be providing interesting information about each of them, their books and powerful teachings, and the general history of the New Thought movement; as well as how these individuals and their ideas have been a positive influence on my life.

My goal for this series is to provide a little positivity, hope, and comfort to the [online] world during these seemingly polarized and anxious times.

Spiritual Mind-Treatment for Abundant Living

{In a quiet location, sit upright, feet flat on the floor, make yourself comfortable, take a few deep breathes, exhaling completely, relax your body and mind.

After a few minutes of relaxing meditation, say mentally or aloud: }

“Centered in the Christ Consciousness I pray and affirm:

There is only one Power, one Presence, one Source, one Force in the Universe, that I know as: Father|Mother GOD, The Good, The Spirit of the Universe, Yahweh|Jehovah [The Great I AM], The LORD Almighty; but who ultimately is the nameless and formless Absolute Reality back of all physical manifestation. This invisible Creative Energy is the Great Cause, and we are all its Effect.

“God is Spirit - sheer Being itself.”

GOD IS Light;

GOD IS Life;

GOD IS Love;

GOD IS Intelligence;

GOD IS Substance;

GOD IS Omniscience (“all knowledge”);

GOD IS Omnipotence (“all power”);

GOD IS Omnipresence (“everywhere”).

There is no evil;

only the appearance of evil.

There is no separation;

only the appearance of separation.

“The Kingdom of GOD is within me!”

There is nothing in all of the Universe for me to fear, for the Force that lives within me is far greater than any negative circumstances or seeming obstacles outside in the World of Appearances.

“Be still and know that I AM GOD.”

I AM one with GOD, one with Source. GOD lives in, as, and through me; and in GOD I live, move, and have my being.

I raise my personal consciousness to the Higher Consciousness of Spirit; From this elevated perspective I recognize that essentially I AM a spiritual being, a manifestation of Divine Mind, a child of GOD: Perfect, Holy, Harmonious. Ever unfolding, ever expressing Everlasting Life.

From the crown of my head to the very soles of my feet: every atom, every molecule, every protein, every cell, every tissue, every organ, all of my substance - both visible and invisible, is filled with the Light, Life, and Love of GOD; and manifests divine Wholeness, Wisdom, and Order, now!

Mentally taking hold of this powerful realization, I affirm that I AM manifesting overflowing abundance, great joy, radiant health, and Spiritual wholeness right now in my mind, body, relationships and affairs.

I AM affirming that the Spirit of the Universe, Father|Mother GOD will guide my steps, making my day easy, peaceful, smooth, and successful.

“I thank Thee [Father|Mother] GOD that thou hast heard me; and I know that thou hearest me always!”

I know that everything I ask for in faith: everything that I need for the unfoldment of my greatest Good and highest Potential, is already mine in GOD. I open my heart and mind to the free-flow of GOD’s Good, and I receive my good, now!

{Pause for a moment of meditative Silence. After 3-5 minutes, take a deep breath, exhale completely, and say either mentally or aloud: }

I relax.

I AM relaxed, and I feel relaxed.

I relax into GOD.

I relax and let go.

I let go and let GOD.

I AM releasing my intentions to Spirit.

Amen! Amen! Amen!

And so it is!

And all is well.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

Norman Vincent Peale (May 31, 1898 – December 24, 1993) was an American minister and author known for his work in popularizing the concept of positive thinking, especially through his best-selling book The Power Of Positive Thinking. He served as the pastor of Marble Collegiate Church in New York, from 1932 until his transition in 1993 at the age of 95.

Peale's ideas and techniques were not without controversy; he received frequent criticism both from [orthodox Christian clergy] and certain psychiatric professionals of his day.

Yet these attacks did not dissuade him. Peale was well received by people across the political and religious spectrums. He was friends with Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton.

The Reverend Billy Graham once said about Peale:

I don't know of anyone who has done more for the kingdom of God than Norman and Ruth Peale or have meant any more in my life for the encouragement they have given me.

President Reagan awarded Peale, for his contributions to the field of theology, the Presidential Medal of Freedom (the highest civilian honor in the United States) on March 26, 1984.

President Clinton said after learning of his passing said:

The name of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale will forever be associated with the wondrously American values of optimism and service. Dr. Peale was an optimist who believed that, whatever the antagonisms and complexities of modern life brought us, anyone could prevail by approaching life with a simple sense of faith. And he served us by instilling that optimism in every Christian and every other person who came in contact with his writings or his hopeful soul.
