But Kanda had warmed up to the twin Akuma that seemed intent on being around all the time. To everyone else, that 'warming up' involved simply not trying to kill them. To him though, it meant that he could rest on Sylas' bountiful fur and let his worries melt away. At least for a bit. And then. Fucking Allen Walker. He couldn't standing in time. Kanda had been too comfortably lounged on the fluffy Akuma. All he could do from where he was half laying now, was glare at his fellow Exorcist. "Say one word, and you're dead." He states, all too coldly. And what would normally be an intimidating threat.... is a bit undercut by the fact that Sylas' tail was wagging right behind him. Completely missing the tension of the situation.

Looking for Kanda never has been, and never will be, high on Allen's 'to-do' list. In fact, it's more often than not to be absent from it entirely. Why would he want to spend what little down time he has searching for such a miserable, cranky, stubborn asshole? Best to send Lavi or Marie to hunt him down. And normally that would be the case; if either of them were actually around, or if Lenalee hadn't given him those pleading eyes of hers.

It's so very hard to say no to Lenalee; even Kanda himself struggles to turn her down--as she's so helpfully told him in the past. A nice little kernel of information to sit on. So here he is, searching around for said cranky asshole instead of being down in the cafeteria and having a snack while engaging in conversation with people who actually like him. The last place he thinks to check on this level is his 'cousins' room--the otherwise empty place claimed by the two strangest Akuma Allen has ever met.

It turns out that their room is exactly where Kanda has snuck off to.

"HA!" The sound is so sharp and jarring that Allen can't believe it actually came from his lungs. The beginnings of laughter that he's quick to muffle with his hand. He can't afford to wake up the twin Akuma and ruin their rest, nor can he afford to bring anyone else upon this glorious sight; not unless he feels like explaining to Komui where all the resulting damage would come from.

He inches his way inside, shutting the door behind him as the laughter dies down to a chuckle. Then, and only then, does he lower his hand completely. What he would give for one of those fancy cameras right now! "Lenalee's been looking for you..." The grin refuses to go away.

"Shall I inform her that you've been idling the day away, taking a nap, Kanda?"

The one place they fall asleep – where they’re not supposed to: kanda's very reserved with rest. its only in his bedroom with a locked door unless you or alma are there. its too vulnerable and private if not. he fell asleep in a cafe with you once, which was silly, but he'd been overworking himself and your shoulder was right there

The game they’d destroy everyone else at: im so sorry, but kanda's entire personality in regards to video games is just: skill issue. he doesn't wanna waste his time learning how to fight in a dumb game when he can just as easily cut your throat irl no problem. though if ever convinced, hes flexible enough to beat everyone at twister

The emoticon they’d use most often: 🖕. (if he ever bothers)

What they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep: he's actually kinder, somehow. not like, allen's mask polite, but he's less bite-y and easy to anger. his baseline is too little sleep generally, but when he goes beyond even that limit, hes too sleepy to fight about every little thing, which translates as sudden kindness.

Their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights or mornings: green tea, always

How they like to comfort/care for themselves in a slump: kanda likes to throw his head aggressively onto your lap and lie there with a scowl until you coax his problem out through his grunts. you ask questions and when you've figured it out, you help him process it

What they wanted to be when they grew up: he thought itd be punk-rock to own his own store. he didnt know what it entailed, but once he was in a independent store with tiedoll and he explained why it wasnt like [insert chain] and when kanda said, "so, basically you're your own boss completely?" and tiedoll nodded he thought.. fuck yea. but what? what type of store, you ask? fuck if he knows or cares

Their favorite kind of weather: summer blue skies with those big, cumulonimbus clouds!

Thoughts on their singing voice: he can sing, and he's good at it, too. he's only shown it once, to prove to allen that "singing's not that hard, dumbass. anyone can do it." he's well aware not everyone can, but he liked gloating when he pulled out an angelic deep timbre in front of the friend group. if he sometimes randomly starts smiling menacingly, just know he's thinking of that memory

I’m not caught up on DGM, I’m sorry, I haven’t touched it since... approximately Allen’s weird dream in the wheat field lmao.

Let’s see... well, to be honest, the whole thing would be way less weird in DC. DC is way more off-the-wall than Marvel is, which is not something I realized for quite a while. But on who would go where-

Lenalee would absolutely be in the League of Assassins somewhere, and she and Damian are familiar with each other. How did she get there? Unclear.

Allen feels like a Gotham kid to me. He’s the only one who’s the exact right brand of fucked up to live in Crime Alley. I imagine he meets Matches Malone and they’re familiar with each other. However, Allen dodges attempts at adoption (forgot that he likes to be loved) and mostly acts as an informant unless further interaction is instigated by Plot Events.

It would be fun for Kanda to be Cass’ twin maybe. (I haven’t done the relative age calculations for any of these, don’t look too hard lmao.) The vibe of her upbringing is very Kanda-like, Cass just dealt with it better. And I think they’d get along. <3

Lavi is absolutely related to a reporter. Lois, maybe, or hell, maybe just someone that Clark happens to share an office with. Jimmy Olsen or someone.

Miranda is related to Hal’s girlfriend, maybe - her niece or something. I just feel like Hal would be surprisingly sweet with her.

Alma is adrift in the foster system, probably. Maybe she knows Billy, maybe she doesn’t. (She’s still a trans girl though.)

i stirred “seventh chairman mine that killed daigo” and “tojo waka” into a cauldron and cooked a short something up that’s rly evil i think.

it's masadai/minedai and only appeals to me and like 4 others. it's exactly 1k, kind of a drabble or smthn i guess, stops abruptly bc i dunno where to go with it!!!

Mine has him backed into a wall.

"And where have you been, Masato?" he all but snarls, no longer bothering to tack on an obligatory honorific at the end of Masato's name under the pretense of cordiality. "The chairman is dead, and you only now show up?"

Ever since Daigo was shot as a result of the land disputes in Okinawa, Mine hadn't seen so much of a trace of Masato around Tojo Headquarters, or around Tokyo at all, for that matter. Kashiwagi was the one who organized their meeting regarding clan leadership, as the chairman was then still in a coma, and the clan was suddenly missing its captain.

He was uninvolved in the situation as a whole, as far as Mine was aware, but he did not want Masato's whereabouts to go unknown if he could help it, taking into consideration how he preferred slinking about in the shadows anyway. Mine had asked the one person who had the highest (though equally the lowest) likelihood of knowing, but unless Arakawa was that good of an actor, it didn't appear he had any idea, and neither did his captain.

Then just a few minutes ago, out of nowhere, Masato waltzed back into headquarters, several days after it had been officially decided that Mine would take up the role of Seventh Chairman of the Tojo Clan.

"I've been away," Masato replies without any elaboration, his crossed arms acting as a barricade between Mine and himself. A finger twirls and tugs at the strands of hair at the end of his ponytail, sharp eyes aimed at the doorway as if anything far more intriguing than this conversation could walk through at any moment. "And last I checked, the chairman was standing in front of me."

"Why were you away?" Mine snaps, ignoring Masato's comment.

"Surely you're aware of the current state of the Tojo Clan's upper echelon?” he asks, mockingly. “Who's really left besides you, me, and Majima-san? Kashiwagi-san got filled with lead, Hamazaki-san was arrested over a stabbing, the Hakuho are busy picking out a new patriarch now that you've been promoted, and the Nishikiyama Family – " Masato pauses before his narrowed gaze finally slides over, darkened noticeably more so than usual by the presence of heavy bags beneath them. "That one is quite interesting. I'd heard Kanda-san was left at his family office, perfectly fine aside from the fact he was missing his head. It's like whoever did it couldn't have given a shit about disposing of the body."

"Interesting indeed," is all Mine grits out as a response as he stares Masato down like a hawk. "And what does any of that have to do with you?"

Masato has the gall to scoff. "It doesn't, and that's the point. I wasn't about to get involved in whatever rampage you've been on with that group from America."

"If that's the case, why are you back here? As you can see, you've missed your chance at the chairman's seat, Captain."

"That would have been me signing a death sentence, Seventh Chairman," Masato says, now matching Mine's glare. "You and I both know you would kill me yourself if I was the one taking Daigo's place."

"And what's stopping me from having you killed now?"

Masato barks out a short laugh. “What stopped you from killing me before?”

Perhaps Mine had a peculiar sense of humor, but there was something comical in the difference between Arakawa the Assassin and his son, Masato Arakawa – who could be just as lethal, but never as a result of him dirtying his own hands. Mine wasn’t entirely sure Masato had ever actually killed anyone. Daigo rarely gave straight answers regarding Masato’s background and their relationship to one another, and aside from who his father was, there wasn’t much else Mine could gather from before he officially swore up. By the time Mine decided to join the yakuza with the goal of learning more about Daigo, Masato was already the clan captain.

Mine hated him, and has only grown to hate him more. He hated his attitude, hated how he oozed confidence and charisma, hated how he proved to be capable enough to justify his position as Captain. It was an innocuous comment from Daigo that clued Mine in on just how different Masato used to be. He was difficult to piece together, and while Mine knew some of it was nothing but an act, he couldn’t quite determine where Masato ended and the facade began.

Mine hated the way he looked at Daigo, hated the way he treated him, hated the hint of a smirk that would form when he caught Mine watching the two of them speaking alone, despised the gentle hand that would casually stick a stray lock back behind Daigo’s ear. 

He hated it. Hated that Daigo could look at Masato with the same soft gaze that was just as often shared with Mine himself, hated how those longing eyes always seemed to be searching deep into Masato’s, hated that something always seemed to be on the tip of Daigo's tongue, but Masato never gave him the opportunity to say it.

Mine cherished Daigo like the treasure he was. Masato acted like Daigo was a prize he’d already won.

Mine doesn’t even have to say anything, because despite his burning animosity, he’s always acknowledged how important Masato was to Daigo. His silence gives Masato the chance to continue egging him on, hitting the nail right on the head. 

“You loved him, right?” Masato says, smirking as he forcefully pushes away one of Mine’s arms trapping him against the wall and steps around him, stopping at his side. “And you knew about him and I, too.”

When he moves to walk further away, Mine wordlessly whips around, grabbing at his arm and tugging him backwards.

Masato breathes out a small chuckle, but remains facing away and carries on. “Maybe it’s because of that. Or maybe it’s because I’m still something that’s left of him.”

After the game is over and everyone has dispersed, he’ll pull you to the side to talk about what happened

If you tell him about your crush on him, he’ll get just as red, if not more so, than he did earlier

Surprisingly, he’ll admit that he reciprocates how you feel, he’s just so nervous of rejection and he worries that his job is too demanding for him to have a happy, healthy relationship

After his own confession, he’ll pull you into a loving kiss, signaling the start of your relationship

I think Allen is aware of what spin the bottle is

In fact, I think it was his idea in the first place, especially after a little convincing on Lavi’s part

When it’s your turn, he is literally bouncing in anticipation

He so wants the bottle to land on him

It’s just his bad luck that it lands between him and Lavi, the latter of which quickly telling you to re-spin to cheer him up

Much to everyone’s surprise, after you’ve gone again, it lands on Allen

He nearly jumps out of his spot to kiss you, causing you to giggle and blush

You’re just too cute when you blush and your little laugh makes him blush as well

Honestly, he grabs both sides of your face before smashing his lips onto yours

The kiss is a bit awkward, but the intentions within it are very apparent

For the rest of the night, the two of you steal glances at each other, looking away and blushing as your gazes meet one another each and every time

Honestly, no one is really sure why or how he’s here, but it’s too late for them to kick him out, seeing as it’s already his turn

Besides, he’s been well-behaved the entire time and hasn’t caused any trouble

Tyki was originally hoping for the bottle to land on Lenalee, but as soon as he saw you, that all changed

He was certainly intrigued when you entered the room for the first time that night

Who were you? Why were you here? And why had he never seen you before?

He didn’t know and he didn’t like that

It was now his goal to find the answers to his questions, reaching his ears in-between moans and gasps from you as you writhed underneath his body, preferably

The tension in the room grew to an uncomfortable, suffocating level that was thick enough to cut with a knife

His devilish grin and the sadistic gleam in his eyes would only grow as it landed on you, the object of his desire

Before you, or the others, could protest, he pulled you into his lap

His fingers would tangle in your hair, tugging roughly before locking his lips with your own

As you moaned into the kiss, his other hand would find your hip, his fingers digging into the soft, tender flesh

You could hear some of your friends growl or scoff in disgust, causing Tyki to smirk in response

Before things could go on for much longer, Lavi would rip you from his lap, promptly glaring at the Noah as he did so

Lavi would ask if you were okay as he sat you down between him and Allen but you would be in too much of a daze to answer

As the game came to a close, the others would try to drag you away from him, but you were so intrigued, desperate to know what would happen if you went with him for the night

Or perhaps, the rest of your life

His gaze would linger on yours, prompting you to follow him to some secluded location, where he’d immediately pin you to the wall

He would normally take what he wanted, no matter the circumstances but he didn’t want the others to hear what cute noises you had to make

The rest of the night was very eventful for you

I know I have Lavi headcannoned as being kinda cocky and confident but I feel like if he hasn’t confessed to his crush at this point, then he’s actually a bit nervous

It’s more antsy, he can’t sit still, he’s grinning and blushing like an idiot

There’s no way THE Lavi could like you... is there?

He’s always so flirty with every girl he encounters, you feel like you don’t stand a chance

Honestly, even though his feelings for you are very strong, he’ll try to discourage you from pursuing a relationship

The life of a Bookman is not a fun, nor easy one to live and he wants you to be 100% aware of that

Of course you’re already aware of that and, after some minor pleading, he’ll agree, only a little reluctantly

Okay, so, neither myself nor Kanda understands how he got into this situation

He just wants to be left alone and to sulk in his room, but Lenalee said something about needing his help

Kanda wasn’t in the mood to fight her on it, so he just agreed, but immediately regretted it

Somehow, the others forced him to stay, but he sulked and grumbled about how miserable he was the entire time

This made you really nervous because this is your big chance, thanks to practically everyone because the two of you are so fucking hopeless, and you were worried you were going to blow it

You held your breath as the bottle spun, coming to a rest on your figure

He sat there, not moving, as everyone watched expectantly

Kanda glanced at your figure before glaring at the others

Before he could leave though, someone pushed him into you, causing the two of you to lock lips

Both you and, surprisingly Kanda, were a blushing mess

That was something nobody had ever expected from the rather stoic male

He would huff and stomp away at that moment but would make sure to find you later that night when the two of you could be alone

Kanda would want to talk about his feelings and yours, even though that would be a massive undertaking in and of itself

Let's just say, everything worked out in the end

Hi so the parasyte type are immune to Akuma bullet/blood and equipement type aren't (unless you're a second exorcist like Kanda or Alma). What about crystallisation type ?

Honestly, I don’t think we know? One would assume they’re immune since the innocence flows in their blood even more than some parasyte type do, so i personally would put my bet on immune. 

But so far without seeing Lenalee react to Akuma blood we may never know since Kanda cannot be taken as exemple. 

But ye, considering how the innocence ran in their body and how the stigma still hurt after all, showcasing a still blood-connection with the innocence, AND the fact their lives get reduced by becoming Crystalisation type, it’s much more likely that the Innocence extends to their physical body in a way the equipment didn’t and covers the immunity factors.

Although if there’s any reason to think otherwise i’d be glad to hear it

Am I remembering wrong or are you missing a huge chunk of your fics on AO3? I swear I found you in DGM with a dozen amazing fics and then you wrote this really long interesting fic about Jack with a group of native american Gods and a giant Turtle and a wolf(?) but I can't find them and I really wanted to reread at least the DGM vampire fic? If you were the one that wrote it? I feel like I dreamed it all, or am mixing you up with someone else.

No no, if you’re talking about the OT3 Alma/Allen/Kanda vampire smut fic that one was mine, though it wasn’t on AO3 it was here on Tumblr over on my NSFW art blog, which I deleted after Tumblr flagged more than half of my art there.

As for the ROTG fic, the fic was called Ankël Lòkëwe and I think I got about 10 chapters into it before I scrapped it all. It was just a very large undertaking full of a lot of very personal things that I didn't feel comfortable putting out for a lot of strangers to pick through.

I ended up getting a lot of racist comments back then since ROTG fandom was still pretty active and at that time my Native!Jack headcanon got a lot of hate. On top of that there was a lot of interest in writers wanting to use my "Native OCs" in their own fics who didn't understand that these were historical and/or religious figures and not of my own creation. Also a lot of arguments when I linked to the stories shared by elders as my source material, and they were different from the Wikipedia or "American spirits" section of mythical creature pages. Especially when I discussed ice cannibals, the W*ndigo, Ch*noo, and M*nwe depictions in media, and why I was making a hard point to seporate Bunnymund from the Great Hare culture heroes.

Also a weird beef with calling them "Nations" and "Bands" instead of "Tribes" unless the Nation specifically calls itself a Tribe.

It was a whole thing, and while I never let go of my Lenape!Jack and continue to use him in every fic I no longer go very deep into Indigenous culture as worldbuilding. I treat my characters the same way other writers treat Greek and Norse figures, with the expectation that their stories are already cultural knowledge. I don't explain Gichi-Biboon or Gloskap or Nanabush any more than Loki or Hercules would need to be explained. If someone doesn't understand they ask me in a comment and I explain it, but I don't lay myself bare anymore.

For any of the other fics, maybe they're of ff.net? I haven't transferred a lot of them over yet because I don't really care for them anymore and also I lost my login a while back. You find him just as he’s about to go into his room. Kanda is pleasantly surprised to see you. There’s a little smile dancing on his lips and he drops his jacket to reach out for you.

By this point, your anger has fizzled out like a faulty firecracker. It’s been replaced by the waterworks as you stop in front of him. Kanda takes that last step and pulls you into his chest.

It’s warm, it’s so warm wrapped in his arms. Except for the spot on his shirt collecting all your tears. It’s pretty soggy there. But, it’s so nice to have you back in his arms, he doesn’t really mind.

Kanda lets go just long enough to pick up his jacket and open the door. Then your all wrapped up again as y'all cuddle in bed. He calms you down and kisses your forehead. There’s only one apology but it’s heartfelt and meaningful. You forgive him and only ask that if he leaves again to take you with him. For once, Kanda will agree no questions asked. Whether he’ll admit it or not, being away from you was hell for him too.

What about Allen, Kanda, Tyki, and Nea's reaction to their s/o coming up to them, with something in their coat/under their shirt, and they ask if they could hold it. And then they pull out a tiny gray kitten. It was raining and s/o couldn't just leave it there drown! And then of course s/o kinda asking(more like begging) to keep it. ( I love cats so much, what's you're fav animal?) please and thank you! 💖

Allen is won over almost instantly. He has a soft spot for animals, and it was a stray that was caught in the rain? There was no way he was going to tell you no.

He is worried though that is job would make it hard to own a cat. He has to be away for long periods of time, and the only way to make sure there was a steady sitter was to ask somebody like Jerry or Johnny, and that made him feel bad.

Turns out the science division collectively agree that the cat can chill around their work area when you two are gone, so long as it doesn’t destroy any important documents.

Kanda knew trouble was brewing when you showed him the kitten. He tells you no when you ask him if you can keep it.

He doesn’t like animals, so he isn’t going to take care of something that he thinks is an annoyance. He says it can stay only until the rain lets up, unless you can find someone else to take it.

By then you are already attached to the kitten and refuse to get rid of it. He tells you it’s your problem then, thus agreeing to keeping the cat.

Tyki is a little unsure about the idea. Yeah, the cat’s cute, he guesses, but he isn’t sure about keeping it. He’s never had a pet he had to look after before(except maybe Jasdevi).

All in all, it’s up to you, really. If you want to keep it so badly, it must mean you are willing to care for it. 

The cat grows on him, in time. Once it grows out of it’s playful stages, he likes having it curled up on his lap or chest when he’s relaxing. The purring is soothing to his ears.

Nea seems like he’d be too busy too take care of a cat, nor like the type to like them at all, but no. He takes the kitten from you and starts shooting out some names for it.

He’s pretty into the idea of having the cat. He teaches it to sit/stand on his shoulders. This kind of backfired because now he wakes up with the cat on his face. 

The cat becomes like his best friend. Especially after the falling out with Mana, the cat keeps good company, as well as you. Though he tells the cat more of his troubles and worries than he does to you. He doesn’t want you to see him weak.

the more I work on this timeline, the more I realize that Hoshino has literally no idea how long shit takes... Allen shattered his hand twice while saving Suman, and it completely heals in a week? never minding the fact that when he woke up he smashed it against the wall until it started bleeding. But noooooo, completely fine in less than a week. What the actual fuck???

Oi how could I forget about the Alma arc. You're right I started taking Road's feelings more seriously when she looked so worried for Allen losing himself and helped him regain himself. It's been awhile since I re read that arc. The scenes where she comforted Allen and even nearly sacrificed her life for him when Apocryphos showed up just really stood out for me. Particularly when you look back on those actions after reading recent chaps. Road's on a mission. One where Allen surviving might not-

2 be the best thing for it's outcome. Yet she still prioritized him over herself during that one action. Did she know she'd survive taking a huge hit like that or would recover soon enough to continue her goals? Idk. The point is post Ark, Road has shown she does have a investment in Allen's wellbeing. Be it his physical life or his very soul. She encourages him to be true and remember himself. Unless this is part of the plan it's all very strange yet genuine coming from a sadistic like her. -

3 As many evil actions as she's done (and her tragic past doesn't excuse them) I guess I do feel loving Allen gives her true happiness. Something she rarely seems to feel about anything else despite that nearly constant sly smile of hers (come to think of it, post Ark she does smile far less then she use to). Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Road's trip to Miranda's town was fueled by a desire to see Allen if she saw him as Red. It's obvious she was tracking an amnesia Mana too during those -

4 years. What's to say she ever stopped. She could have kept watching Mana and Allen together for years and even observed all the events that awoke the Earl. During those years Cross's words to her and seeing Allen bond with Mana could have influenced how she treated her own 'family'. We could naturally expect Road has always been the same. But it's possible the dynamics within the last gen of Noahs was pretty different from the current. Road is really multi layered (thanks for the compliments).

Wanted to clarify a bit more on the smile bit. Road does smile a lot post 14th reveal. But in my personal opinion most of her more happy or at least raw smiles have been at Allen. Around her Noah family she's seen either frowning more or there's a heaviness to it. Not saying she loves Allen more. But w/the Nea reveal I feel like all the repressed emotions and barriers she set up for the sake of her duty and/or Noah ties started cracking. Allen is the one person trying to find the truth she -

2 already knows. His compassion is something she likes and he hasn't lost it. He has other people to depend on (Johnny. Kanda ect). He's moving forward and breaking off from this tiring script she and others have been forced to act in. Both of them (will/do) have complicated feelings for Mana. In a weird way he might be giving her hope so she tries to give hope back to him when she can (Mana's last words. Bringing Cross to his dreams). Road smiles when Allen holds her in Kanda's mind and later-

3 when she gives him Mana's motto as encouragement to live his own life. Those gentle smiles honestly are the happiest we've seen Road look (when not torturing someone anyway). I'm going to be curious how Allen reacts to her when they meet again. Obviously he'll never forgive any of her past actions and still considers himself her enemy. But after she brought his sanity back in the Alma arc. He seemed more (what's the word) open around her. He lets her touch him a lot. He listens to her-

4 to her. He might have been freaked out but he still accepted her comfort after Apocryphos's first assault. Later he carried her and got alarmed when she vanished. I think this dynamic is shifting because Road is embracing her own humanity (despite hating humans) more around Allen to see. It goes straight back to their first meeting when he couldn't kill her because she was human. Both if them are connecting through their humanity as they've always done. Where will their humanity lead them?

I honestly have nothing to add bc i really think you summarized everything that is so great about Road and Allen’s relationship and it is fantastically put together!

really i’ve been staring for something to add but i really don’t think i can - you really nailed how much Road had been exposing her feelings and especially growing near Allen and how even Allen starts to soften to her in some way.

It’s so so good and it makes me wonder too how they’ll meet later. esp now that we know Cross meeting Allen was due to Road and that last chapter showing they’re likely more on the same page than not. I feel like Road now being away from the Noah is on purpose so she can lead Allen, not just beecause she’s “too weak”. Her “disappearance” give her a good excuse to be away and just let Wisely know of her plans, but now she can focus on the third side.... whatever her motives are, i feel like she trusts Allen with them. 

And that’s just fascinating and i cannot wait to see how that evolves.

Technically most if Allen's friendships are one sided thanks to how out of reach he is. Though right now Johnny and Kanda (of all people) are making some nifty huge progress ripping the mask off (took a lot of near death and traumatic experiences to force it to happen but here we are). Lavi will never be able to give the same meaning to Allen as Allen gave him. But maybe it's Lavi's destiny to help him uncover the lost history Allen needs to succeed? Eh, it's possible unless you're Mana or -

2 Cross a character will never mean as much to Allen as Allen does to them (on a deep sort of religious level I guess?). That's because Allen gives so much it's pretty impossible to be on equal ground w/him (but hey some characters still try. Rooting for you Johnny, Kanda, Lenalee, ect. At least for Allen stuff. I don't expect you to care about humanity as a whole like he does =p).

That’s true,,, Link did some progress too, accidentally. 

Kanda isn’t really nudging under the mask more as he’s pushing his way to rip it off but you can’t deny him an incredible progress for someone who probably cared the least to start with.

and tbh I think the story kinda will stay on how Allen was inspired by his father figures more than on how his friends could eventually show him another way but hey i live to be proven wrong if it’s to give Allen some way to open up for once.

but imo ye, for now all I can at least be confident about is that Lavi would make sense to try to uncover the Nea mysteries. He seems the best placed to know and to care at the same time on that specific focus. 

And tbh there’s also that the fact some characters do try to get under Allen’s mask while well. Not like Lavi had a lot of time to do so but he kinda saw through part of it so he didn’t really bother forcing Allen to take it off. esp since that would be really hypocrite. Like i genuinely think that’s also something that might hold back Lavi to confront Allen on his own fake-y habits, that it’s just a “you’re the one to tALK”. (which is also why i value that Lavi had showed more how he could get Allen out of the mask for more childish things. If serious things would be too hypocrite to try to face, at least a light fun that even Allen doesn’t indulge into is both a step forward under Allen’s mask and a way to not be invasive in a way Lavi can relate would suck).

I think this would be a group effort to officially kick out that damn mask out of Allen’s face, if he hadn’t stuck it too much on his face.

And ye, Allen gives so much it’s impossible to be on equal ground with him. So like i’m saying, group effort + somehow managing to help with the little things would already be good. If Allen can manage to allow people in, i’d be delighted.

I guess we’ll just, have to wait and see huh.
