Hi! I just finished Morland PI after my second time listening to Murray Mysteries, and I was wondering if there are any links to socials/websites for the cast members, in case any of them do other projects?
Took some time to answer this ask because things were in the works but here we are!
Do you miss Knoves productions and want more from the people behind the scenes? Here is how you can find more and stay up to date with future projects.
Knoves Storytelling productions:
Most of our audience came to us through our first audio drama project, Murray Mysteries. The numbers tell us a lot of MM listeners never branched out into our other productions so this is the first place to go for more!
Morland P.I. is a queer love story full of mystery, adapted from Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. Kit Morland, true crime podcaster and wannabe heroine, is dying for some excitement. When her neighbours offer to take her on a trip to Bath, site of the famous Chawton Murders, she knows this is her chance to investigate the unsolved mystery. But from boisterous siblings to intriguing women with an eye for fabrics, Kit's new environment is full of distractions.
Something Queer is Happening Here is our non-fiction limited series, hosted by Drew Frankie Victorie (voice of Mina Murray and Jamie Morland and cover artist) and May Toudic (writer/producer of Morland P.I. and Murray Mysteries). Join two LGBTQ+ writers and scholars on a quest to find all the queer subtext in literature and media. Because why bury your gays when you can dig them up?
Now that Knoves is no longer, some of our cast and crew are still creating and collaborating! Here is where you can find some of their work:
Drew Frankie Victorie (voice of Mina Murray and Jamie Morland, host of Something Queer is Happening Here, cover artist) recently designed the cover for This Particular Somewhere, and it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. You can find them on Instagram @thevictorie.
Megan John (voice of Lucy Westenra and Kit Morland) wants you to know that adulting is hard and she hasn't been doing anything creative, but that's a lie. She has been killing it on her bullet journaling instagram @megs_journals_, and is voicing the upcoming audiobook for This Particular Somewhere.
May Toudic (writer/producer of Murray Mysteries and Morland P.I, host of Something Queer is Happening Here) is still writing and looking for work! Most recently, she started an independent publishing company, Sunflower Press, and published her first novel This Particular Somewhere.

Eager to act after her plans for the future fall apart, Kat leaves her native Norway and ventures across the sea to work as a nanny in a Scottish seaside manor. As she navigates the complexities of caring for the Elphinstone children, Kat finds solace in the warm camaraderie of the housekeeper, Margaret, and the hospitable cook, Tommy. In between balancing her work and online studies, Kat embraces the remote village's unique community, crafting playdates with a fearless American babysitter and matchmaking for Tommy, who grows strangely tongue-tied around the charming local grocer. When her employer's younger brother joins the fold, however, Kat discovers a growing connection of a slightly different nature.
Intertwining themes of belonging and self-discovery, This Particular Somewhere welcomes readers into a vibrant Scottish coastal town, where new friendships and unfamiliar landscapes kindle unforeseen possibilities. From the enchanting manor to the charming village brimming with colorful characters, the novel invites readers to immerse themselves in a world teeming with humour, comfort and deep connections.
Maddie Cooper (Knoves admin assistant) is currently studying media production to start a career in podcasting and sound production. You can find their work on their Linktree.
The Mascots:
Gilbert (voice of The Beast) is sadly no longer with us. After a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy in November 2023, he passed away at home in March 2024. He is dearly missed by his mum May and his sister Marilla.

Marilla (voice of Darcy) went from chaotic little sister to stressed-out older sibling when her mum brought home a new kitten last April to keep her company. Her new sister Sawyer keeps her on her toes, but she loves her really (deep, deep down). Marilla is still a mean lean chirping machine and dedicated biscuit-maker.

Void (bringer of darkness) is still thriving with Drew! He recently went to the vets and got certified polite boy. What an achievement.

We hope you enjoyed this update and will want to check out our new projects! While the company has disbanded, we are still in touch and still monitoring this account, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments.

Seren's Studies: Odd Squad UK -- "Three is the Oddest Number" Episode Followup, Part 2

Man, this might turn out to be a three-part followup, the way things are going.
Well, anyway, let's continue below the break.
(A post-editing note: I was informed that Leonie is, in fact, a girl, and not a boy like I thought. I'm keeping the LGBTQ+ theory because we've already gotten gay triangle villain and they could extend that to child villains too, but keep in mind that Leonie is a girl and not a boy. That's my bad.)
Okay...again, I have to ask: are departments just not a thing anymore? Did- did we dissolve that concept or what?
Because sending out Oh-Oh, an agent known for unsolving cases, to do the exact opposite of her job description is utter fucking stupidity. And the only way I would excuse it is if there were a constant danger of low numbers in this precinct, which...after Orli's induction, there doesn't seem to be.
"She needs field experience" is not a viable excuse, either. She doesn't need field experience. She and the Investigation agents work symbiotically. That is the whole fucking point of her entire fucking department.
Niki, you were on one hell of a good track, but you're faltering. Step it up, honey.
Oh, forget about pollen. If you're allergic to birds, that's the real ruiner allergy-wise.
Pollen has a season. Birds are infinite.
Absolutely was not expecting this bewildered "huh?!" to come out of that child. Fucking golden.
Given the Season 2 references, you're gonna have a very hard time convincing me this isn't just Ohlm "reskinned", so to speak.
Like, you know the MLP: FiM palette swaps? That's what this is. It's an Odd Squad version.
I love how he accentuates the "free" in "free snacks" like he has no money on him and like we haven't seen agents get free food before.
The client probably can't offer anything, but there are other clients who specialize in human food 'round here...
Think about this for a second: they poison the food, he eats it, he lets his body hit the floor ground, and they take the gadget easy.
"But the adult is the-" The adult...is an idiot. Do you really think they'll stop the poisoning of a pseudo-government official?
Won't get fooled again, until they get fooled again.
(I'm sorry, I didn't want to make the same joke twice, but it's too perfect to pass up.)
ODD SQUAD-BRANDED WOODEN CASE FOR MY TABLET WHEN. W H E N . W H EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-
"It's not ideal, but it's not the worst thing that could happen! For example, I've heard Odd Squad once had a genocide and a mass murdering."
"Really?"
"Ahh, but that was many many years ago in a different country. None of you will remember it."
I honestly can't tell if "another chance to sink 'em" is UK grammar, or if it's just a really weird choice of words.
No, I don't care if they're geese. They are related to ducks. This is the finale. We've had many Season 2 references thus far. THIS IS ONE OF THEM AND DO NOT @ ME.
See, this is funny because Orli has literally wielded a Mary Sue gadget that removes oddness with a simple zap before.
And I'd say "just use that", but...then we wouldn't have this episode.
"Why did I think that would help?"
Look, everyone tends to think they're Fluttershy at some point or another, until they find out they aren't. Happens a lot, Ozzie.
Somehow I never noticed Oxandra was wearing a bow aaaaaaaaand fucking hell I just realized why she knew all the gadgets with all the shapes and I'm going to go kick myself in the ass until my coccyx breaks.
On one hand, phrasing the evil plan as a "plan of terribleness" is charming.
On the other hand, repeating the phrasing is inducing much cringe in me.
Thinking about this bit, and I've come to the conclusion that Ozzie meeting these three is definitely not as dramatic as it could have been. The Shadow's introduction brought more drama!
"But something tells me it's not the last we'll see of them."
*cackles in "WE GOT TWO MORE EPISODES YOU DUMB FUCK!!!!!"*
"Does Orli know they're ex-Odd Squad agents?"
Let's be honest: even if I hadn't spoiled myself for the finale, even just a little bit, I'd probably have this as one of my theories. The O names are a bit of a dead giveaway.
Just for reference, The Shadow at least did it better because she went under an alias. The Terrible Three just go by their Odd Squad-given names.
"I've never been able to find the right time to tell her."
WELL NO FUCKING SHIT DOG, YOU ONLY HAVE 12 EPISODES TOTAL AND SHE'S BEEN HERE FOR LESS THAN A FUCKING YEAR.
Putting aside the fact that Offee can apparently speak goose...this is so unbelievably half-assing it that it makes me question all of these villains' intelligence levels and perception skills.
In that they are probably a little on the low side, and they have next to none.
Okay, this effect looks cool on gadgets. It shouldn't do the same thing for regular-ass shapes, regardless of whether they are used as batteries for gadgets or not.
*deep inhale*
Note to self: make a Seren's Study on how the show gets an F in grammar while I educate the fandom on the correct phrasing.
This sounds menacing, until you realize it is one precinct in a sea of thousands and striking the Big Office department plus all the Big Offices themselves would be far more effective. (Unless these three have a vendetta against Ozzie only, but that doesn't seem to be the case so far.)
WAIT WHOA WHOA WHOA. "NEXT TIME"?????? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS WE'RE GETTING A "NEXT TIME" CARD?!?!?!?!?!
Honestly dead-shocked this hasn't been done before. I liked it when they did the "last time on Odd Squad" opening in "Training Day"; now we're doing the inverse.
AH!!!!! AP AP AP YA SEE?????? SHE I S A SCIENTIST!!!! OXANDRA IS A SCIENTIST I CALLED IT AHAHAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa wait hold on, is the book upside down or backwards and also why is it small and rectangular and not...dictionary-size?
I hate that, with this one line, I have a fairly good idea of where things will be heading.
The key word here, of course, is "fairly", because I definitely won't be right all the way through.
Cute. Cute how bro thinks he's part of the team when it's supposed to be a 2:1:1 ratio with Onom instead of him.
And your credits for this episode. I find it funny that, despite the reveal, nearly every member of the Terrible Three has the "Agent" title attached to their names (bar Oxandra, who was a Scientist, hence the lack of title...which makes no sense, but asides). Imagine if you just skipped to these credits without seeing the reveal, on some off chance for some odd reason.
----------------------------------
Overall...ough God, where the fuck do I honestly begin with this episode? I mean, I guess the best way to start would be that, for a finale episode, it was pretty solid. Definitely could have been better, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. The only real major issue I have is the complete and utter lack of foreshadowing and how the events of this episode, plus the Terrible Three, are just ham-fisted into the season. Story arcs do define the franchise, but there's nothing wrong with leaving one out and just wrapping things up with a final episode. Trying to put one in 12 episodes doesn't work out so well, and this is a good example as to why.
As for the Terrible Three themselves, I'm...not getting much from them. One's LGBTQ+, probably, which is great, but I'm looking for personalities. Aside from Ollison's obvious leader status and Oxandra's potential idiocy (and even that is lacking), there's nothing that's really drawing me to them like, say, Ohlm, or Odd Todd, or The Shadow. All of them have very distinct personalities and motives. The Terrible Three...don't.
But maybe it's too early for me to say much of anything else. Maybe the other two parts of the finale will clear things up, so here's hoping. With that being said, I'll see y'all around for the first part of "Should Odd Acquaintance Be Forgot".
Seren out!

Maybe the TRAs are focused on the wrong group. A transwoman was killed by a woman using her words to "misgender" but by a violent man who used a gun
By Miriam Marini
Detroit Free Press
An 18-year-old Highland Park man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Asia Davis, a 36-year-old transgender Black woman.
Carlos Lamar Scotland, 18, is facing four charges, including first-degree murder and felony firearm, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced in a press conference Friday. Davis, also of Highland Park, was found deceased with a gunshot wound to her head in a Highland Park hotel room in June 2023, prompting an investigation by Michigan State Police.
On June 1 at around 11 p.m., Highland Park Police officers were dispatched to a hotel on Woodward Avenue for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Davis inside a hotel room. Scotland, who was a minor at the time of the incident, allegedly shot Davis and fled the scene. Worthy declined to speculate on potential motives that may have inspired the shooting or the exact nature of Scotland and Davis' relationship, citing concerns for the security of the case.
At the time, Davis had recently finished nursing school and was on the path of a new career, according to the prosecutor's office. She was known to be a generous and compassionate person, Worthy said.
"Back in 2016, I was concerned and actually lost sleep because of the public perception of Detroit," Worthy said. "There were many unsolved murders of trans women of color. No one seemed to care at all. Nothing was really being done. No one was really investigating, and their lives seem to matter to no one."
And thus the Fair Justice Michigan Project was born. The organization is a partnership between prosecutorsâ offices and law enforcement in Wayne, Ingham, Oakland, and Washtenaw counties that focuses on advocacy and education of LGBTQ+ and women's civil rights in Michigan. Fair Michigan special prosecutor Kam Towns is leading the prosecution in Davis' case.
"Having worked (at the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office) for 30 years before I took this job, I have a general sense of homicide rates in general, but specifically to the LGBTQ community, I can't really address that," Towns said. "I will say this, I feel like people are more brazen. They don't hide in the shadows as much as they used to when they go after members of the LGBTQ community. I've seen that as a change, that they feel more emboldened and more empowered to just act out in a way that they normally wouldn't."
Davis is one of at least 32 transgender and "gender expansive" people who fell victim to fatal violent crimes in 2023 in the United States, according to the Human Rights Campaign. Half of those 32 victims were Black transgender women.
Scotland is facing charges of first-degree murder, felony firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting and obstructing a police officer. While Scotland was a minor at the time of the incident, he will be prosecuted as an adult, Worthy said.
His probable cause hearing is scheduled for March 26.

The neglect of Black girls and women

Los Angeles, CA (News4usOnline) â On April 19, the Womenâs Leadership Project (WLP) united Black women from across Los Angeles in a powerful rally to raise awareness about the violence and neglect Black women and girls face daily. The event began near Leimert Park, with demonstrators marching down Crenshaw Boulevard to 57th Street, concluding outside the District 8 office of Marqueece Harris-Dawson, President of the Los Angeles City Council.

Courtesy photo Speakers addressed the urgent need for systemic change and laid out clear demands, emphasizing that justice for Black women must become a priority. The rally highlighted how violence against Black women is often ignored and underscored the necessity for community action and institutional accountability. In January 2022, the body of 16-year-old Tioni Theus was found on the Manchester Avenue on-ramp to the 110 Freeway. Her death prompted calls for a comprehensive examination of violence against Black women and girls in the city. The murder of Tioni Theus remains unsolved. Though deeply tragic, Tioniâs story is not unique. LA Civil Rights Department states, âNationally, 2,077 Black women and girls were killed in 2021, a 51% increase over 2019 and the largest jump of any racial or gender group during that period, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Concurrently, the number of unsolved homicides of Black women and girls rose by 89% nationwide.â Addressing this crisis requires a multifaceted approach, including policy reforms, community engagement, and increased support for survivors. By acknowledging and confronting the systemic issues contributing to violence against Black women, Los Angeles can work towards creating a safer and more equitable environment for all its residents. According to a report by the LA Civil Rights Department, â Black women made up nearly one-third of all female murder victims in the City of Los Angeles over the past decade, despite accounting for less than five percent of the cityâs population. Black women accounted for 28.2% of all women reported missing in the city over the last two years and 32.85% of the female homicides over the last decade." Despite these alarming statistics, many protesters expressed outrage that L.A. cityâs elected officials, including Mayor Karen Bassâthe city's first African American woman mayorâhave done little to address systemic violence against Black women and girls. Two years after these reports, inaction persists, despite the coalitionâs community street actions, meetings with city officials, and public comments at LA City Council meetings. In response to these devastating statistics, the #Standing4BlackGirls coalition is calling on Mayor Bass and the L.A. City Council to allocate funding and support for prevention, mental health, and youth leadership initiatives for Black women and girls across sexualities. In City Council District 8, there are virtually no accessible youth centers that offer targeted wraparound programming for Black girls, women, LGBTQ+, and gender-expansive youth. To date, CD8 has more vacant, boarded-up buildings and empty lots than it does youth-serving facilities.

Courtesy photo Lizette Nsilu, an intern for the Women's Leadership Project, spoke about the importance of being part of this organization. âIâve noticed that high school was a very different space for me; I really didnât feel like I had a community. It kind of felt like a hostile environment, and this kind of gave me a safe space while also fighting for people who look like me,â said Nsilu. âFor queer youth, for trans youth, for Black women, for queer women, Black girlsâit just gives us an opportunity and the space to spread awareness to difficulties we will come across in our lives and also how we can change that.â Eclasia Wesley, the project coordinator at WLP, shared her perspective. âI believe that we will continue to stay rooted in our groundwork, working with high school students and building a curriculum around intimate partner violence and domestic abuse. Weâre encouraging our young people to take ownership over advocacy for speaking up for themselves and storytelling and using their voices to stay lifted,â Wesley stated. âI do believe this work will continue because theyâre still killing a lot of Black girls out here. The work has to continue because itâs still at a high stake where there's a war on Black women.â Sikivu Hutchinson, founder of WLP, and Jessica Robinson, project director of WLP, shared more about their ongoing efforts. âWe have met with the city council, we have done public comments, weâve met with the mayorâs office, we have obviously done a lot of grassroots organizing, marches, just an array of different interventions, and thereâs been no response from the so-called elected officials and leaders on the crisis that is confronting Black women and girls and queer folks,â Hutchinson said. âThis has been going on now in terms of the horrendous stats that weâre citing since 2023, so what we have done is we have put together a petition outlining demands.â These demands include: - Creating dedicated funding for targeted prevention education programming, mental health supports, and safe spaces for Black girls across sexualities and Black gender-expansive youth. - Establishing youth/teen centers in city council districts heavily impacted by anti-Black domestic and sexual violence (CD8, CD9, CD10). - Hiring and training culturally responsive community responders to replace police investigators and first responders on domestic violence cases. - Creating a Black women and girls-focused task force with an emphasis on Black women-focused policy development, outreach, mentoring, and job programs. - Expanding the participatory budgeting window and providing targeted technical support workshops for Black women and girl-focused organizations to actively participate in the process of allocating funding for so-called âREPAIRâ zones (Reforms for Equity and Public Acknowledgement of Institutional Racism). - Ending the practice of dual arrests, which disproportionately affects Black women and gender-expansive. Â Jessica Robinson added: âAlong with the funding and the amplifying of voices in the stories of those who are missing and murdered in Los Angeles and around the worldâwhen we start asking for buildings, and we start asking for support from the politiciansâwe start hearing stories about the âlight in the city.â We start hearing all kinds of stories that try to deter us from asking for support. So, I would like them to understand that support looks like showing up when it comes to youth-led organizations. Showing up and saying, âThis is important. Your lives are important. We understand that you are the future.â And we have yet to get that. So thatâs what Iâm really hoping some of the leaders in this city will come and say to the worldâespecially to the youth in Los Angeles: âThe lives of Black women, children, and queer youth are important, and we want the violence to stop.â As the chants from the rally echoed through the streets of South Los Angeles, Black women and girls deserve to be seen, heard, and protected. The work of organizations like the Womenâs Leadership Project and coalitions like #Standing4BlackGirls is not just about protestâit's about survival, dignity, and demanding that elected officials treat this crisis with the urgency it requires. This movement is a call to action. It is also a call for visibility and a call for justice, because until Black women and girls are safe, no community can truly be free. Read the full article

Police review hundreds of cold cases after hate crime inquiry
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/police-review-hundreds-of-cold-cases-after-hate-crime-inquiry/
Police review hundreds of cold cases after hate crime inquiry

NSW Police have doubled staff and undertaken new DNA testing on hundreds of unsolved murders following the stateâs gay hate crime inquiry.
The Special Commission of Inquiry examined dozens of unsolved cases and found reason to suspect LGBTQ bias in many of them.
The inquiryâs report found police failed to properly investigate dozens of potential gay hate crimes over 40 years.
Commission head Justice John Sackar accused the police of an âadversarial or unnecessarily defensiveâ approach to the inquiry.
The report also exposed major failings including lost exhibits and incomplete investigative files. The report made numerous recommendations to police.
NSW Police established Taskforce Atlas in response to one of those recommendations, which ordered police to âconduct a systematic review or auditâ of decades of unsolved murders.
Under the taskforce, NSW Police appointed 25 detectives to examine details of 213 unsolved homicide cases between 1970 and 2010.
Itâs not clear how many of these cases relate to members of the stateâs LGBTQIA+ community.
More detectives and new DNA testing
Detective Chief Superintendent Grant Taylor told the Sydney Morning Herald the unsolved homicide team was now almost double the size. Itâs the largest ever allocation of resources to that department, he said.
Of the 213 cases, detectives have fully reviewed and digitised 50 of them. Detectives will conduct a new investigation into seven. Two have been assessed as bias-motivated crimes.
âWeâre picking through every single bit of the material, archive records and exhibits and seeing with fresh eyes whether we can elicit any new evidence and bring those to some sort of fruition,â he told the Herald.
Some evidence has been sent away for DNA testing to develop a suspectâs profile.
Detective Inspector Matthew Russell said the detectives hope the process unearths new leads.
âWe hope in all of these boxes thereâs a little bit of gold,â he told the Herald.
âThis work is long overdueâ
ACON CEO Michael Woodhouse said the community consultative committee allows crucial information to flow between community and police.
Woodhouse said it comes as hate crimes and violence against the LGBTQIA+ community escalate in New South Wales.
âI want to know when people in our communities experience serious crime, they meet a police force that will ⌠make it as easy and comfortable as possible to tell their stories, to get the support and to get the protection that they need. I want to make sure itâs done consistently.
âThe community is looking to know weâre using all the tools available ⌠to try and get justice.â
He said examining cold cases could offer a âhealing momentâ for those who knew victims.
Independent MP Alex Greenwich is also on the committee and has consulted with the officers on the work.
âThis work is long overdue, but Iâm glad justice is finally being delivered for those impacted by this dark time in our stateâs history,â he said.

đłď¸âđđłď¸ââ§ď¸ WHO KILLED SUGAR BEAR? đłď¸âđđłď¸ââ§ď¸
NY, NY 2002 Unsolved Homicide
Sugar Bear (25), whose legal name was Andre Jamal Isaac, was last seen alive just before Thanksgiving in 2002 leaving her* apartment in East New York and getting into a red BMW-type coupe with ânice rimsâ driven by a âsecret friendâ who has been described as a Hispanic man. She reportedly went out without a coat and said she would be right back, and she left her wallet behind. She was never seen alive again.
Between December of 2002 and April of 2004, her dismembered body parts were discovered in three separate places - one location in Far Rockaway, Queens, and two locations in Moriches, Long Island. She had been shot in the head, and her murder has never been solved.

* Sugar Bear was male-assigned but preferred to wear womenâs clothing at least part of the time and also performed drag. She is referred to within this post as âsheâ out of respect for her presentation, but we do not know what pronoun(s) she used in life or how she would have described her identity. It is likely she used different pronouns in different situations.
