Happy favorite finished object Friday everyone! 🤗 #favoriteFoFriday Have I ever told you that in all the years I have been knitting, I have never knit socks?! Even though I love to wear hand knit socks, I really don't like working at such a small circumference. 🙈 So whenever I need a quick and easy in-between project, I make a hat - no matter the season. I knit hats all year around. 🙃 In the pictures above you can see my lastest hat. It is called Monument Hat, because it reminds me of globes on buildings. 🧶 #monumentHat I have written the pattern and already had it tech edited. Now it is ready to be tested. But since it is slowly getting summer in this hemisphere, I will wait a little before I open a new call for testers... Monument Hat is made holding two strands of unspun yarn and one strand of silk mohair. I used "Unspun 2104" from Raincloud&Sage and Mohair by Canard and I am in love with the squishy fabric this combo creates. 😍 What is your favorite FO right now? I love knitting by the ocean! The last weekend I spent at the Baltic Sea and it was wonderful! 🌊 We had the most beautiful sunshine but also very cold wind. With only 13-17°C I was able to wear my new hat for the first time and it kept me warm and cozy! 🌞 This is the first proper image of my new hat, so I think it is time for a little introduction: Meet Monument Hat - it is worked holding two strands of unspun yarn and one strand of silk mohair. #monumentHat I used the wonderful "Unspun 2104" from Raincloud&Sage which is a little more fragile than Plötulopi but just as sheepy and quite a bit softer. The resulting fabric is super squishy and very warm. 🧶 I already wrote up the pattern for this hat. It will be available in 5 sizes. I am very curious to know if you would be interested in testing such a warm hat in the near future as summer is just beginning in this hemisphere... Happy New Year everyone! 🥂 As it happened, I managed to finish a secret project just as the last year ended. So, I was able to start the new year with a new cast on which was awesome! 🥳 Do you remember my Turning Skies Sweater that I made last autumn? 🧶 #turningSkiesSweater Back then I really wanted a mindless and instandly rewarding project with loads of my beloved Stockinette stitch. And even though I am totally in love with the result - which you can see on the second slide - I decided to tweak it a little before writing the pattern. It will still be mostly Stockinette, but with a little twist that will hopefully spice things up a bit. As always I will keep you updated about the progress! Yesterday I shared some swatches that I made over the past few days in my stories. I had a really hard time to decide what my next project would be even though I was aching to cast on something new. So that kept me thinking... Why was is sooo hard to decide that I could not make up my mind for days? 🤔 I thought about that a lot and came to the conclusion that I might have put too much pressure on myself lately. I really want to create beautiful new designs for you. Designing is what I love! But sometimes I feel I cannot live up to my expectations. This might have something to do with my #boughsOfHollySweater 🧶 I have been trying to grade it for so long now, but I am still not done with it. Grading the sleeves for the larger sizes is just a nightmare, because there are so little rounds where I can place the decreases. Long story short, yesterday I decided that I needed a mindless project right now. Something that I would love to knit, that would be easy and work up fast. Something with as little obstacles as possible. Something with no pressure attached. So, I finally casted on something new! Yay! 🥳 And I am so glad I did! This is going to be a cropped drop shoulder sweater and I am in love already. This is my first time working with Plötulopi and this yarn really is one of a kind! Can you believe that I got all that sweater out of ONE single plate of Plötulopi?! 😲 Amazing, right? And it knits up SO fast. I managed to knit all this in just 5 hours! Also the fabric is so squishy, the color is just stunning and then there is this awesome sheepy smell! 😍 I am so glad that I have casted this one on! I really needed to feel the knitting joy that I am feeling right now. Sometimes it is the simplest Stockinette project that I will enjoy the most.
