I have exciting news! It is a very gloomy September day here in northern Germany. 🍂 So, I am spending my Saturday going through my stash in search of a yarn that I want to use for the HERBGARDEN knitwear shawl KAL. 🙌 #hgkskal2022 One option would be this gorgeous deep green yarn. It is Origin from Raincloud&Sage and the color called "moor" was a limited edition dyed by Mominoki Yarn last year. By the way, this post is not sponsored in any way. This Saturday is the deadline for the Ardent Autumm shawl test. 🧶 #ardentAutumnShawl When I received my testers feedback, I will give the pattern its final tweek and send it to my tech editor once again. And then, when we are both happy with the pattern, it will be time for a new release! Someone stayed up late yesterday to leave sleeve island as soon as possible 🤣 - and with success: this project is now officially a finished object! I am having a little trouble with the sleeves of this design. There was a lot of frogging involved 🧶🐸which luckily was every easy with the Origin yarn I am using. This evening I am going to give it another try. Meanwhile I thought I'd share another picture of the yoke. I am really happy with it which is why I want the sleeves to be as good as they can be. I love knitting by the ocean! The last weekend I spent at the Baltic Sea and it was wonderful! 🌊 We had the most beautiful sunshine but also very cold wind. With only 13-17°C I was able to wear my new hat for the first time and it kept me warm and cozy! 🌞 This is the first proper image of my new hat, so I think it is time for a little introduction: Meet Monument Hat - it is worked holding two strands of unspun yarn and one strand of silk mohair. #monumentHat I used the wonderful "Unspun 2104" from Raincloud&Sage which is a little more fragile than Plötulopi but just as sheepy and quite a bit softer. The resulting fabric is super squishy and very warm. 🧶 I already wrote up the pattern for this hat. It will be available in 5 sizes. I am very curious to know if you would be interested in testing such a warm hat in the near future as summer is just beginning in this hemisphere...
