infinite middle fingers to the military and as the brother @lowkeyonline once said, “i’m a product of the system i was born to destroy.” • ayo, bust this! you’re not really down with hip hop if you aren’t connected to its roots of resistance, this is liberation music, fuck what these rich/corporate rappers are advertising over bullshit beats and bothersome rhymes! like the brother @mrchuckd_pe of @publicenemy said, “rap music is the CNN of the ghetto" and it’s marginalized folks, mostly people of the global majority who are preyed on by shit-ass military recruiters to murder black and brown folks in other countries—so youngins like @bluescholars said, “next time you see recruiters in your school or your crib, Tell 'em thank you for the offer but you'd rather you lived, We got more than just our bodies to offer, So fuck a coffin wrapped in red, white, and blue.” so many anti-military/counter-recruitment lines and lyrics could be referenced right about now, which is precisely what the comments are for. #veteransday #militaryindustrialcomplex #supportthetroops #usimperialism • *special shout out to @upsettingthesetup @deadprez @imixwhatilike @stic @techimmortal @2mexomd @deadprez @illb1ll @thegodrakim @therealdjericb #mikivale #pumpkinhead https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck1-59nurDm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

sorry if you have answered a question like this before, but what do you think of critiques from liberals/other leftists whether they be calling themselves socialist, communist, or anarchist, on the "disastrous/genocidal" effect of a "glorious revolution" on populations like children, the elderly, and the disabled? would any revolutionary action necessitate destruction of infrastructure? what kind of conversations are being had among communists about protecting these vulnerable populations? i see a lot of stuff about not wanting to watch kids die in hospitals just for a power vacuum that could go the wrong way and stuff like that and i agree with wanting to protect these populations especially, but something about the conversation in general seems off to me, since kids are already dying all over the world because of the lack of access to healthcare because of things like usimperialism or the insane costs even for people living in the us and the supply chain is already showing many cracks because of climate change and capitalism, with no global "violent revolution" to speak of. am i missing something crucial here? what can i say to my fellow disabled friends who have these concerns, partially born from dealing with ableism in leftist spaces? -- thank you, a baby communist
i mean first of all yes, it is disingenuous to pretend that the most vulnerable people are not dying constantly under capitalism. secondly, revolutions do not usually involve blowing up hospitals and care homes for no reason.
but most crucially of all this entire argument relies on a childish view of revolution inspired by the most tedious reactionary propaganda--an understanding gained from shen yun and anastasia. communist revolutions (like any revolution!) don't happen in times of unremarkable peace and prosperity--they necessarily happen in times of mass discontent and instability, because that's when large segments of the population become radicalised!
genuinely, the best antidote to all these silly liberal ideas about revolution is to read about the history of real revolutions, socialist or otherwise. actual historical knowledge trumps mind palace hystericizing every time. i recommend walter rodney's the russian revolution: a view from the third world.

but like, why is it a problem for white people to complain about imperialism? as i said, im from balkans, and euimperialism actively hurts us. salaries in other eu countries are 3-4x times bigger (i could provide sources but theyre in my mothertongue), minimal wage is 4.5$ per hour but groceries in the rest of eu are cheaper than here. i went to france and found groceries being cheaper there despite their salaries and work rights being stronger. there is also an issue of eu store chains replacing ours and items being imported pushing out our farmers. people were throwing vans of oranges, native grown, into rivers as a protest due to store chains having deals with the country and preferring imported ones. eu saw a country being part of ex-yugoslavia (also a part of political third world during its existence) and said its a great chance to push its agenda onto it once it broke. other countries such as italy and hungary actively are asking for our lands to be "returned to them" despite us being a sovereign state. this too is a part of imperialism and their colonizer past.
my people, immigrants, are victims of violent crimes, and were put in concentration camps during nazi regime. our language has been banned during colonial times and weve never held colonies. in eu countries we work in construction or as cleaners, in media we are portrayed as dumb people. ive seen people calling my city "africa with electricity", usamericans straight up telling me they thought we dont have internet or phones, people saying they would never visit because there is a war going on (it ended in late 90es).
english in schools is a mandatory subject and you cant even be a waiter without it. despite being fluent in it and a writer, i cant get jobs due to usamericans seeing my name and immediately dismissing it. everyones dream and goal is to work for foreign countries because their currencies buy more. as an artist, a $25 commission buys groceries for a full week, if not more, and its more affordable for usamericans than my people. i work for newspapers as an artist for 13€ per drawing, and for my american employers as an animator for $3.25 per hour, as a cheap workforce.
im not comparing this to struggles of third world country and the effect imperialism has on them in a much more extreme way, but there are different ways in which it works for different nations. my passport isnt on part with an american one. when american ships come here there are papparazzi and news and journalists following them around, and to them it doesnt matter if the person is black or native, they just see "americans" - generous buyers and tourists. youre more likely to be a victim of hatecrime if youre serbian/albanian than a black american.
like just the privilege of english being your first language is a big one. i cant read books in english myself, and our libraries are limited. more information is available to native english speakers. which is understandable, but its a direct effect of usimperialism. news are more accessible too; especially source-checking. there is also a privilege of being able to move around the usa, thus getting more jobs, especially if you went to college. my diploma isnt on par with usa one either, and many would dismiss it immediately.
I assume you meant to send this ask to someone else; or, perhaps there's just a misunderstanding on my end. Regardless, this is all very true; balkan states in general are seen as pools of highly disposable labor by western europe, and both military and economic pressures are well in use to prevent any change to EU dominance in the region. Y'all aren't even considered 'white' in western europe (or, the US really), like you don't even get that much.

"eurocentric beauty standards" what about balkans where most of people dont look like northern beauty standards and have different beauty standards than them, along with specific face phenotypes and dark hair and eyes
"european/white imperialism" what about balkans which have never had colonies of their own but were instead colonies themselves
"europ-..." did you ever take a moment to think about balkan countries which are surprisingly also in europe and suffering from eu/usimperialism before you decided to group us into the imperialistic influences which we are literally victims of
the question is just whether you see balkans as europe or not, whether you see balkan people as white or not, and whether youre willing to broaden your horizonts a bit to listen to other oppressed groups outside of the usa

A report by the Communist Party of the Philippines's Political Bureau today one year ago today revealed that their highest ranking members, Wilma and Benito Tiamzon, along with eight of their comrades, were massacred by the Philippines' military (AFP) with the support of US military advisors.
Tumblr media
The report says the AFP's claim that the victims, dubbed the "Catbalogan 10," were killed in August last year when their boat "suddenly exploded" during a firefight with a US-trained and commanded unit of the AFP, was designed to conceal their capture, torture, and massacre of the group. Witnesses reported to the CPP's investigation how the Tiamzons' captors subjected them to extreme torture and "smashed" their faces and hands with hard objects. The AFP's 8th infantry division, Joint Task Force Storm, and the Joint Operations Task Force Trident conducted the operation. Trident counts US advisers in its ranks and notoriously joined the AFP's 2017 war on alleged ISIS militants that devastated the Muslim city of Marawi. PhilippinesCommunists #USImperialism #CPP

Investigating America’s influence on German politics
Tumblr media
Investigative journalist Jurij Kofner is a German citizen. To question the extent to which his country’s policy decisions are influenced by America’s agenda, he explores Germany’s post-war history to understand how relations with the US were formed. He also looks into the dynamics of the two countries’ cooperation under the umbrella of NATO Today, America’s largest permanent military operation outside the US is in Germany. The American government uses Ramstein as a base for its controversial drone operations. Local citizens, who question the legitimacy of the arrangement, discover they have no say in what some foreign powers can do in their own country Read the full article

#SJComix365 - Jan 30 - Today marks the anniversary of the launch of the Vietnamese Tet Offensive, notes by many to be a turning point in the war. It became a moment when critical reflection on the US military machine could no longer be denied. “Addicted to War: Why the Us Can’t Kick Militarism” by Joel Andreas is a summary of those critical reflections, in comic book form. In the 1990s, when Joel was a high school teacher, he was disappointed in the precious few resources he could find about the role of war in #USHistory - so he set out to make such a resource. Each chapter handles a different aspect of US militarism, moving more or less chronologically. Since it’s original publishing, this book (originally self-published) has sold 100,000s of copies, and is being used in a number of school districts. An indispensable read for anyone who needs a crash course in 250 years of US military history. #addictedtowar #joelandreas #comics #warcomics #graphichistory #miltarism #USmilitarism #USforeignpolicy #UScolonialism #manifestdestiny #USimperialism https://www.instagram.com/p/BtRL_qQg7T-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7g4vho42b3sr
