There are many reasons why the United States lost this war. One of the reasons was the terrible traps used by the Vietnamese. These traps were very effective and caused a lot of damage to the American troops.
Pipe Bomb: These bombs were an explosive contained in a pipe. The pipe would be hidden underground and the bomb would detonate when American troops stepped on it. Ziphook: These traps were a small hole in which a sharp iron spike was hidden. When American soldiers stepped over these holes, the shrapnel would go into their feet.
