Today marks 12 years since the mass shooting on Utøya in Norway, where right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik killed 69 people, mostly teenagers. And I can't help but think about how one of the guys Breivik cited in his manifesto now sits as speaker of the parliament here in Finland. The world is fucked up.

Here’s a silent thought to the 69 lives lost during the Utøya attack twelve years ago. A special thought as well to those who saved so many lives by boat, and to those lost in Oslo

Memories are weird.
Recently fb have shown me statuses from my last year in middle school, 2010, and I’ve realized how much this one girl always liked, commented and was generally so kind to me.
She was one of the kids murdered at Utøya a year later.
Middle school was straight up hell for me, for many reasons.
This girl, Kathinka, was one of the cool girls in my year, pretty and sweet and funny and popular, but man, she was so KIND.
During the terror at Utøya I lost one of my best friends in the world, who I knew from outside of school, and I am still struggeling with that loss to this day, and I will for the rest of my life.
But I’ve been realizing that greif kind of overshadowed the loss of another friend, a friend that stuck up for me I’m ways I didn’t even realized back then, a friend I didn’t even realize *was* my friend, because I was always so weary and scared of «those» type of girls, and it’s been hitting me really hard recently.
Idk what I want with these tweets, other than say that Kathinka was one of the best people I’ve gotten to meet in my lifetime, and that I wish I realized this way, way sooner.
It’s so important to see those special people when they’re still around, and tell them how much they’ve helped you.
You never know what tomorrow holds, and they deserve to know what good they do while they’re here.
I hope you have peace, Kathinka ♥️🌹

“ Il primo dei “lupi solitari” a entrare in azione è stato il norvegese Anders Breivik: il 22 luglio 2011 ha compiuto la strage di sessantotto giovani radunati per un seminario nell'Isola di Utoya in Norvegia. Gesti come questi fanno scattare l’emulazione.

Article about new season of Furia.
Google translation:
"Finally you can stream Furia season 2: - A thriller about the world we live in right now
Erlend Lundgård
FilmwebPublished:
22.04.2024
The thriller series takes viewers through Europe's darkest corners, into a world of violence, politics and technology. We met the actors from Furia season 2!
The second season of this Norwegian conspiracy thriller has been postponed for a long time, and now it's finally here! The series has found a new home on Prime Video, and this season, among others, Tarjei Sandvik Moe and Maria Mena have joined the acting team!
We follow Ellen ( Ine Marie Wilmann ) and Asgeir ( Pål Sverre Hagen ) on a mission to arrest one of Europe's most wanted masterminds of right-wing extremism and electoral fraud. Asgeir and his daughter are hiding from the dangerous Moldovan Ziminov in the far north of Norway.
Here they are drawn into a stream of violence, politics and AI-driven psy-ops that intend to tear Europe and NATO to shreds, before the Norwegian NATO commander resigns. Their worst nightmares unfold as their true identities and darkest secrets are revealed.
Ine Marie Wilmann plays Ellen, and she can reveal that the character goes through an intense journey this season.
- There was a time when I thought "and this too?!"
She also says that working with the series has made her more concerned about the world, and that she has become much more aware of the importance of protecting our institutions and democracy. Tarjei Sandvik Moe does not recognize that .
-No, I have realized that the world is fucked without this series. Furia is kind of just… It rubs it in.
One of Tarjei's biggest challenges in the series is the name of his character. He plays the state secretary Tarje, which is one letter away from his real name, and led to confusion on the set - made worse by the fact that Ellen and Tarje's father is called Terje, and is played by actor Terje Strømdahl .
- It was one thing for us Norwegians, but the Polish crew, they were like "Tarje tarje tarjaaaa!"
Tumblr media
Furia comes from series creator Gjermund Eriksen ( Mammon ), and does not shy away from themes such as right-wing extremism, conspiracy theories or artificial intelligence.
Peiman Azizpour is back after a brief appearance in the first season as Jonas, a state secretary and former AUF leader.
- Jonas has survived terror, i.e. Utøya. He will fight for and stand up to talk about what has happened.
While the first season was launched on Viaplay, the series has now found a new home. After being completed for several months, the season was postponed due to financial problems at Viaplay, and now the streaming service Prime Video has bought the rights. Furia is the first of five Norwegian drama series to premiere on Prime Video this year.
Tumblr media
The postponement has been a source of frustration for several of the actors, and Pål Sverre Hagen is relieved that the series can finally reach the public.
The Furia universe is, after all, a thriller that is about the exact time we live in right now, so it was probably time to get it out into the world.
The first three episodes of Furia Season 2 are available now on Prime Video, with new episodes being released weekly.

3 June 2022: King Harald and Queen Sonja paid their first visit to the island of Utøya, where 69 people were killed in a terrorist attack on the island’s Workers’ Youth League (Arbeidernes ungdomsfylking/AUF) summer camp on 22 July 2011. They were accompanied by AUF leader Astrid Hoem and Lisbeth Røyneland, head of the National Support Group for the survivors of the 22 juli attacks, both of whom shared their experiences from that day. They also met a group of 10th grade students who were on a field trip to the island.

2 and 4!
2. A movie you think is underrated
I think “Novitiate” (2017) is an excellent movie that somehow no one has seen. The cinematography and story are both so well done and it feels like a very tactile movie—like you can really feel what’s on the screen. It’s not for everyone (strong focus on religious trauma) but I think it’s so excellent. It’s dark. It’s queer. Dianna Agron is in it. What more can a girl want?
It also has this:
“So many people settle for a love that doesn’t really ask anything of them, that they don’t have to make any sacrifices for. I don’t want that. I want a love that I have to give everything to.”
4. A movie you like but wouldn’t recommend
Mmm this is tricky. I want to say “Jojo Rabbit” (2019) because I’ve gotten into fights with people about that movie and it’s one of my absolute favorites. I want to recommend it, but I’ve become more hesitant to do so.
I feel like the humor is very dependent on having grown up in a certain context of WWII framing. Like depending on where you grew up, your personal history, the way your culture treats WWII etc. you either love it or you see it as the most offensive thing in the whole world. I happen to love it but I’ve become more careful recommending it.
And then another movie that I think is really good but wouldn’t recommend, simply because it is very confronting, is the Norwegian film “Utøya 22. juli” (2018) about the Anders Breivik shooting. Not to be confused with the terrible American Netflix adaptation that came out later. It’s a one-take movie that lasts for the exact length as the shooting. It stands out because it doesn’t focus on the terrorist himself but rather on the chaos and the panic of being on the island. It’s a very impactful film, but I wouldn’t really recommend it.

It’s been nearly twelve years since I first heard the words “cultural marxism”. In a terrorist manifesto. And somehow, the phrase has become more and more accepted instead of universally condemned as right wing hate. It’s damn insane.
Twelve years ago today I was on my way to summer camp at Utøya. With people who had close friends on the island. Obviously we didn’t make it there - we were evacuated and weren’t allowed to tell anyone where to because we couldn’t be sure he was working alone and being a politically active youth was suddenly dangerous.
Sometimes I wonder if I make myself a target by trying to be obviously nonbinary. But honestly, fuck that. AUF are milquetoast as fuck, and that didn’t save them. Just not being a fucking nazi is enough to make you a target, so might as well be yourself along the way, right?

ANDERS BREIVIK
Tumblr media

Euro anon is back! Ok, so first of all - I know about the electoral college (how about actually forming a consistent movement to abolish that one, huh?), about gerrymandering, about Hillary losing the pop vote, about RBG not wanting to quit and all that *because* americans constantly stuff it down our throats. SInce 2016 it has been impossible to exist in “international” online spaces without running into a yank complaining about their own political system. I also used to work in news media and have interviewed a few mid-level american politicians. I know that your democracy is not fair. When I talk about *voters* I mean all voters - also the republicans who made poor choices because they were too stupid and blinded by Fox News/OAN/Murdoc propaganda. And how is me criticising the USA "punching down"? It is literally the greatest cultural and military super power in the history of the world.
I am tired of “feeling sorry” for the USA, and I think that is true for many other europeans. It does nothing, and we get very little in return. Things like the attacks on Krudttønden, Barcelona, Utøya, the Manchester bombings, all of this barely registers on the american radar for more than a week and still you demand our sympathy whenever the Republicans are on their bullshit or when yet another white dude shoots up a school. It’s giving us all compassion fatigue, especially considering the war in Ukraine and how the russian blockade on ukrainian foodstuffs might cause a famine in the “global south” part of afro-euroasia; leading to new waves of immigration (and those refugees are not gonna swim to the USA, they’re going to be our responsibility).
And yes - America has been terrible from the get go! I did however not know this until I got on an american social media platform (when I was well into my teen years), because american history and culture isn’t widely taught where I live. In my country we learn about the American revolution as a precursor to the revolutions that actually matters to us, meaning the French and the Haitain, and we learn the basics about the civil war and the civil rights movement. I didn’t learn about the black panthers in school in the same way that you probably don’t learn about the Count’s Feud or the Singing Revolution - it is not important to you, even though those things are important to the Danes and the people of the Baltic States. What reason does a person from Greece or Belgium have to know that the USA has the highest maternal mortality of the “developed” world if it isn’t relevant to their every day life?
Also, I do not think that americans know how big an influence your politics have on us. If Trump managed to pull out of NATO as he wanted, we would all be fucked! Remember how he wanted to buy Greenland? Imagine how that would have rocked the power balance of the North Atlantic! International politics are about cooperation, and when the idiot citizens of one of your most important allies have put a mega-idiot in a position of leadership, you rightly start to get fucking worried!
When I talk about the past 8 years or so, yeah, I should probably have gone for a greater age range, but I mean how you went from Obama, a somewhat alright guy (if you look away from the war crimes, his financial policy failures, the ACA and so much else…) who was in somewhat in tune with the politics of my (liberal) home country (I won’t way where I’m from, but it’s a Nordic country) and a general movement of hope and unity, to Trump and his outright divisive, idiotic retoric. In short: We thought you guys were moving forward with us but you didn’t. That, in part, is why we make fun of you. And yes, americans get super triggered when that happens, and yes, it’s often the conservatives who are the worst, but why whould that matter to us? We make fun of all countries and their problems.
Your first ask was incredibly disrespectful so I'm letting you know I didn't read a single word of this because why would I be any kind of understanding towards someone who came out the gate like that?

Some Russian gang of hackers are going to hack into the main "log in" systems of Norway!
The log in systems that are planned to be attacked, are the ones that is needed to access to/log into things like norwegian banks, norwegian social security offices/social help offices and doctors offices...norwegian university pages...etc.…
Apparently they are not going to STEAL any sensitive information (tthankfully!) but they are going to overload the system and make the system crash so people won't be able to log in there.
And why are they doing this? To get their revenge on Jens Stoltenberg (former prime minister of Norway and now...although I don't know why!? -> The leader of NATO.) Honestly…I can understand why they disslike Jens Stoltenberg so much. I think he is an idiotic asshat myself. He showed great weakness when dealing with the security and rescue movement during the terrorist attack on July 22nd 2011. He let the police discuss the situation for nearly a solid hour, while it would even take the police ANOTHER hour just to get to the Utøya Island to save those that were being shot. That's not just one but two hours where many people could have been saved!
Anyway; I agree with the hackers that this man really sucks and that it's scary that NATO is giving this monkey so much power....But to take it on ALL Norwegian citizens, who DON'T really have a say as to how Jens Stoltenberg operates with NATO in the war between Ukraine and Russia? As if we, the everyday people are to blame for the death of Russian soldiers? Come on man! That's annoying and unfair!
Sucks that they're gonna crash the log in systems for all Norwegians as a result for Jens Stoltenberg being brainless. (Not that I don't think that he shouldn't defend Ukraine but it's the way he is trying to do it and how late he is getting any action done, giving Russian extremists plenty of time to get pissed off and do shit like this, as a revenge!)
So yeah everyone living in Norway got to wait and see as to for how long our log in servers/systems will be down, and how this will affect anything from seeing how far your package has come at the pages of the post offices, to handling your prescirptions for medications online, or log into your university to deliver a paper...

The Re’im Music Festival Massacre
I’ve just seen two documentaries about the Hamas attack on civilians in Israel on 7 October 2023. This was the onslaught that sparked the war. Still, for some not-very-unknown reason, people on the hard left in Europe and America are filling the streets protesting against Israel. When Jews die, it’s sparks not feelings among pro-Palestinians. Instead, it’s all “from the river to the sea” and “resistance is not terrorism”. When the far-right madman Anders Behring Breivik shot and killed young people at Utøya in 2011, no one marched in the streets with signs justifying racism. Everyone would detest people of did that. But now, when Jews are the victims, racist terrorism is suddenly justifiable. Further still, it’s suddenly fine to call for a second Holocaust. For some reason, all people are of higher value than Jews. http://aqurette.blog/T2Hc7R
