#principal skinner pride flag for my gay little dogs #you see this is why my dog people need to see the same spectrum of colors we do #I feel like their literal world view would be drastically altered if they couldn't distinquish between orange and green #I'd argue that red is a significant color in practically every culture #it's instinctual associations with danger food and fertility make it attention grabbing on a visceral monkey brain level #I strongly suspect the impact would be at least somewhat negated if it was a muted brownish khaki instead #meaning it wouldn't be used in visual communication nearly as much #I would have to center my art and worldbuilding more around yellow and blue because those would be the colors the dogs would see clearly #right? is that sound logic?#and that would just make me immensely sad because warm colors are my favorites :<#answered #m0notropa-uniflora #something that continues to boggle my mind is that there are animals that see more colors than humans #we like to assume that our color vision is the best we can see it ALL look at that rainbow there that's the full set #yes primates are well equipped in this regard compared to many other mammals like dogs #but most birds for example have more color receptors in their eyes they have more tools to work with and their rainbow is even wider #it's like sound everyone knows we can't hear sounds that are impossibly low or too high #and we can't process wavelengths of light that are too long (infrared) or too short (ultraviolet)#only what lands between those bookends (called the visible spectrum) reads to our human eyes as “light” and subsequently “color”#I hope I've understood this correctly I'm trying to say that there's a whole layer of vision we don't have the hardware to get access to #and that's just wild to me like we are fundamentally unable to imagine a new color that isn't already included in our built-in selection #but they're definitely there the unimaginable colors are in the room with you and a common pigeon can see them #uv dlc not available for your system

I used poster boards of different thickness and a LOT of yellow paint!!

Some android models definitely have infrared cameras, which makes them see for example when infrared sensors are at work as well as also see through some materials that infrared light can penetrate, like plastic. I don't think it's something all androids have despite it being a fairly cheap feature, like I don't think household androids like Kara do, but it can be handy for some specialised workers models, such as the ones Markus converts during the Capitol Park chapter in order to get access to what they're fixing to disable security.

Let me speculate and headcanon here that Luther, as a specialised worker of unknown original purpose, belongs to those models too and has infrared vision. Which means, he can instantly see the difference in how androids look as opposed to humans. Which would explain how He was able to instantly see that Alice is an android whereas as Kara couldn't do the same and saw her exactly as she'd have seen a human.

I think this headcanon works really nicely.

Blackwater is not a subtle person. Despite all the training, and even despite being sent to the Palace of the Tamed Storm, Blackwater never really absorbed societal norms. Wide, colourful, with a booming voice that canbe heard over the fiercest storms, as well as a master Gateway, and Stones player.

A gourmand, Blackwater gravitates to food areas when left unoccupied, and is one of the few faculty members that is well liked among the mortals working at the school.

He REALLY doesnt like Draven, and he cant quite put in words why.

Apparently, the quills of some hedgehogs will glow under UV light.

So now all I can imagine is Scout Goseumdochi standing near a UV light and essentially glowing.

And Geumsaegi thinks it’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen and is just standing there like:

But also imagine if Undochi also glows under UV light and Bamsaegi gets the surprise of his life.

intaglio prints i did of my oc Dave for a class assignment like a year ago! a bit about Dave's feelings being a friendly but eternal, undying, and interdimensional sort of guy. being a little outside of the rest of the world's phase of reality, wanting to connect but knowing it can never last etc etc. was very fun!

#art #traditional art #printmaking #intaglio #done with like a vaguely photogravue-esque method: putting transparent film with drawings on a plate that has a photosensitive film over to #transferring the image via a uv light partial cure - removing the less cured parts (where the drawings lines were)#and then fully curing the film so its hard and can be used as a very low profile intaglio!#its very fun and fast - and thats why the drawings look so drawing-ly LOL they were pen drawings photocopied onto transparent paper #these were supposed to be like a sequential storytelling thing for the assignment where each plate was supposed to stand alone well #but i lost the plot half way through and made mine too intended to be layered so i understandably got docked a few marks for that LOL #BUT thats okay i learned a lot (1. remember the assignment instructions) and i still like these!#i should do more intaglio. i thought i hated it but then i realized the method for inking i was taught first was overkill #(i was taught to put way more ink than is needed and it took FOREVER to polish) but now that ive figured out easier methods #its really fun! and works well for someone like me who loves their sketchy lines
